He reminds me of what I know of real world medieval knights. Chivalry was a thing only applied to equals.

There was no glory in harming noncombatants and generally you would want to avoid that, but if you absolutely needed to sack a city (or take a city hostage to lure out its patron deity) then no one would blame you.

There was a lot of scheming too.

The Twins were bored (Book 1 OC rewrite)

The twins had arrived in Oaklore about a month or two earlier as wandering adventurers looking for work, a comon sight across the kingdom.

In that time they’d developed a good working relationship with the knights and Maya. Unfortunately, they don’t have a family name that pairs to make a sir- pun, otherwise someone would have tried recruiting them. Which would have made things awkward seeing that neither terribly wanted to be bogged down as knights.

Miriam escalated the prank wars between Kuss and Prise, while Macbeth worked with Maya and Valence on jobs that kept him well away from both the line of fire and having to see the consequences of the pranks.

At the time that the Red Dragon arrived, the twins were assisting with forest patrols, keeping an eye out for useful plants and scaring away Sneevils and the like. Miriam was in the eastern edges of the forest while Macbeth was in the western edges, at the cliff.

After saving Celestia and hearing the first whispers of getting caught up in a prophecy, he had a bad feeling about what was about to happen, hightailed it back to the barracks, and started to pack their gear to leave.   (The twins have a bad habit of assuming the other’s response to a question or situation and acting off of that assumption. They’re not typically wrong in their guesses, but that’s not the point.)

At the same time he was doing this, Mirriam had met Celestia and was currently kicking Drakath’s ass. With a new adventure awaiting them in Falconreach that promised dragons and great evils, she rushed back to the barracks to find everything already packed and Macbeth waiting to hear where this inevitable adventure was going to drag them this time. (This was not their first experience with separately encountering key quest givers, there was an incident with a someone trying to find their family fortune the previous year. Macbeth had saved them from something earlier that day and listened to them muble about a family fourtune as they walked back to town. Later that evening Mirriam met that person at the inn and quickly rushed back to her shared room to announce to Macbeth the adventure that she just agreed them to.)

Thus, they set off to Falconreach, beat down a hydra, and took their first steps on a journey that would define the rest of their lives for better or worse.

I think lord death and spirit have a very underrated relationship (the bit they did with medusa was so funny) it’s my favorite thing to think about. Even funnier to think about is spirit, by virtue of being the only mortal LD spends a significant amount of time with, is the grim reapers benchmark for what a normal human person is nowadays, which is very unfortunate because spirit is not normal. At all. I think the question of “why in gods name does lord death act like that” (goofy as hell) can be answered with “because he probably just assumed the cringe fail 18 year old death scythe under his payroll was a good person to emulate wrt talking to people.” I don’t want to intimidate the students of my school and my employees -> nobody finds spirit intimidating -> I should just act like this guy. Firm believer that “wazzup” was spirits fault. I’ve also said it before and I’ll say it again there is an untapped comedy gold mine in lord death getting parenting advice from spirit “teenage father” “my daughter fucking hates me” albarn.

Lucienne held her cousins hand and guided her through the people, her goal: the most famous and luxurious seamstress of the City. On their way, they spotted a small commotion, a small flock of young men; probably soldiers who were drawn to enlist soon.

Lucienne watched them for a moment, spotting at least one.... maybe two good looking ones in the flock.

Only when her cousin called out for her, she snapped out of it again and she realized, that some people were looking at them; clearly recognizing them as the great granddaughters of General Moreau.

Immediately, they made their way to the seamsstress, still giggling on their way; before they managed to snatch some good fabrics for their dresses; soon the ball season would start again and both of them finally had their debut into society.

Lucienne wasn't paying much attention, when she left the boutique, so she ran into someone.

Actually no I think Númenóreans go through puberty later than normal humans but like, it overlaps. Barely.

So (assuming Númenórean women get periods? they might not get periods because elves don't? if not the timing is still similar but we don't get a neat marker) the girls might start menstruating at about sixteen or seventeen — technically very late, but by far not outside the realm of human experience, with everything else spaced out accordingly.
