Listen, you know why Andrew loves Neil? Why Neil Abram Josten was the one Andrew would allow into his inner space, to allow growing roots where Andrew keeps the remaining fragments of his heart?

Because hardly anyone respects Andrew's boundaries. Renee does. Bee does. Wymack does. Andrew respects his own boundaries to the point of enforcing them at knife point.

He views Andrew's boundaries as sacred.

Renee, Bee, and Wymack would view crossing Andrew's boundaries as disrespectful at best and a violation at worst. They earned his trust that way.

But NEIL???

Neil views crossing Andrew's boundaries as a fucking sin. As blasphemous. A devoted disciple would sooner spit in their God's face than Neil ever conceiving of crossing Andrew's boundaries.

Some people would look at you erecting brick walls covered in barbed wire and would start looking for a good crack to aim a sledgehammer. Some people would watch you lock a door and try knocking, just once, to see if you'll open it for them. And some people would watch you draw a line in the sand and never dream of stepping over it.

Neil parked his ass on the other side of Andrew's barbed wired multi-layered brick wall surrounding his concrete bunker and stayed there, running his mouth. And when Andrew revealed the hidden door, Neil smiled, stayed put, and kept talking.

Andrew didn't fall for Neil because Neil wouldn't come in.

He fell because Neil waited for Andrew to come out, waited for Andrew to extend his hand, and waited for Andrew to lead him inside by his own volition.

And that's why Neil was the one who earned Andrew's "Stay".

your f/o would help you through any meltdowns/episodes/overwhelm in any way you need them to.

you don't have to feel bad about reaching out to them when you're upset like that, they want to be there for you to lean on. whether you need them to talk to you or can't handle any noise at all, they understand.

if you need to get specific items such as earbuds or sunglasses to block the overwhelming surroundings they would get those for you, even carry them while you're not at home, just in case.

your f/o would understand if you don't want to be touched, or if you want them to hold you with firm pressure, or anything in between.

they would ask you yes/no questions if you usually talk but aren't able to while you feel this way, they will come up with a system that works with you. or if you want to talk about it with them, they're ready to listen.

they will stay with you or give you some time alone depending on what you want. whether you want to listen to them talk about something unrelated or just sit in silence with them, they want you to be comfortable. you are so important to them, of course they care about your wellbeing.

When Entering Your Villain Era🩸

I. Stop taking orders. When someone says jump — stop responding with, how high? You are not a pet. You don’t owe anyone access to your time, body, money, mind or energy (not even your family is entitled). Release your binds and acknowledge that you always have free will.

II. Stop looking for permission, praise or validation. Pick-Me energy is repelling. Learn to clap for yourself and do things to make yourself proud 1st. Take yourself to dinner, buy yourself flowers and write yourself love letters.

III. Embrace your Dark side. In all things, there is a Yin and a Yang, Dark and Light, Naughty and Nice. Begin to make your own rules without limitations or shame.

IV. Don't over-give, over-commit or over-extend yourself. This is called being a People-Pleaser. Although it's normal to have empathy and manners for others, having excess people-pleasing behavior is an invitation for others to drain and control your energy.

V. SAY NO. This two-letter word is the magick word when it comes to protecting your energy, space and time. Anyone who doesn’t respect it, doesn’t respect you.

VI. Never trust anyone until they prove themselves worthy of being trusted. Trusting people too readily, can cause you to be easily taken advantage of and mislead.

VII. Be less available. Don't agree to participate in anything you don't want to. Yes, you have that choice. Not only does selective availability eliminate toxicity and protect you from being drained of your energy, it also increases your self-respect, mystique and personal allure.

VIII. Emanate a powerful presence. Walk in like the Dark Feminine. Take up space like you are a being of importance. Don't be afraid to make your presence felt and your voice heard. Walk in your power at all times.

IX. Work on your confidence. Your inner core must be unshakable. No one's words or behaviors should be able to shake or decenter you. What others say or do is not personal anyways. Know who you are and remain in your center.

I really like how in the scene where Gabin and Tobias first interact, Gabin retreats every time Tobias expresses discomfort. Gabin's instinct is obviously to move closer, and he does a few times, but when Tobias wants him to step back he respects that. I think it's neat
