Sorry if I’m a little quiet for the next few days. And this coming week in general. Roommates husky has cluster seizures and she’s been having a rough scary day today since 3am. So busy helping watch her and be ready to help her through the seizure. Roomie doesn’t have the money for the expensive monthly anti seizure med that may or may not work. So she’s trying some hemp based thing rn and it seems to be making them less intense somewhat. But we’re waiting for some actual CBD based one that’s coming tomorrow mostly. Then my boyfriend is home tomorrow. And we are going to a wedding on the 23rd.

hey friends, i wanted to share some things that are going on in my life right now. mostly for possible support, since it is really difficult going through this right now and i wonder if any of y’all have been through the same.
in july, i had three psychogenic non epileptic seizures (PNES) which required me to go to the hospital. they were caused by extreme nervous system stress, i.e. ptsd and panic attacks combined with the fact i was trying to self medicate with cbd and delta 8. super scary, never experienced a fear and strangeness like that before.
since then, i have had like. no full seizures but instances where i felt like i did before the onset of having the three in july.
i am now coming off cymbalta, the second SNRI i have had to come off in the last three years. i am experiencing pretty intense withdrawals and i was wondering if anyone else has had experience with cymbalta withdrawal as well and if anyone could tell me what their experience was like.
essentially my withdrawal symptoms are feeling similar to how the onset of the PNE seizures felt, and i am kind of just. i guess super scared. i have a support system IRL, but regardless of that, whenever i have these symptoms, i feel so alone and isolated. not necessarily in a lonely way, but in the way that i feel the extremest thing is going to happen and no one will be able to help me, if you know what i mean.
so yeah. i’m sorry to vent here, health problems have really been kicking my hind-end in recent years and now the seizures and withdrawals on top of it has really made things more complicated. and i wanted to know if anyone else has any similar experiences, because if someone has shared my experience, it will somehow calm me down. i will be responding to all comments left on this post btw.
as always, i love you all. very very much. if i miss any trigger tags on this post, please let me know and i will fix it accordingly.
- ish 💕

Aren’t pibbles considered a “nanny breed”? Is an I mixing up the words in this language lol
Yes!
Pibbles were bred to take care of children! But unfortunately, that's also why they get labeled as "dangerous" - part of what makes them such good Nanny Dogs is because they are SO loyal to their humans, and evil humans took advantage of that loyalty and trained them to fight. The pibbles just want their humans to be happy and safe, and they'll protect their humans from danger regardless of their own safety. If they're trained into thinking that fighting makes their human happy, then they'll use that same mindset to go into fights as well.
but every single pibble I have ever met has been the sweetest, most pitiful baby who wants to just cuddle and give kisses. And their Nanny Instincts are still very much intact, making them wanna Mother every small creature they see
Here's a picture of my pibble Daisy, the one who just died of cancer, trying to Mother a frog
Tumblr media
(Not pictured; Daisy's tail going wild, and her whining because her Baby is Too Far Away)
Here's Daisy, being lifted up to look into an enclosure where baby chickens were being held temporarily because she wouldn't stop crying until she got to see the Babies
Tumblr media
When our bunnies accidentally had babies before we could get them fixed, and Daisy was obsessed with the baby buns. She even alerted us when one of the babies got injured
Tumblr media
And finally, one of the best pictures of all time. When we first got Daisy, and she was only a few months old while showing the first signs of her being such a good Nanny Dog.
The child is my cousin, Sydni. Sydni has severe epilepsy(Doose Syndrome) that started when she was about 4 years old. I honestly don't remember how old she is, but even now that she's in her late teens, she still has the mental state of a 4 year old due to having literally thousands of seizures every single day. (shout out to Charlotte's Web CBD for reducing those numbers down to double digits daily. Literally life changing/saving) Syd was having a sleepover with us, we made sleeping arrangements on the floor to avoid risking her having a seizure in the middle of the night and falling off the bed. Daisy, even as a 3-ish mo old puppy, never left Sydni's side and constantly watched over her, like she just Knew that Sydni needed extra care and Daisy was already willing to put in the work to take care of her.

Why Autistic people need sitters when experimenting with drugs, even marijuana, in short:
I was prescribed lithium in 2020. It gave me temporal lobe seizures. Nowhere online, nor with my psychiatrist, was that listed as something that could happen with lithium.
This is far from the only time that kind of thing happened to me. CBD was also terrifying, even in a 10mg dose, and when I tried to research what was happening to me I found nothing.
I had to go to the emergency room. Showed them the box. Still NOTHING. No answers whatsoever.
I think it could be the case with neurodivergent people in general. You can take a prescription drug or something like THC or CBD and have effects from it that you have NO ONE to confide in about because they won't understand or accept the effects you're having.
You're ND. Your brain is literally wired differently. There is no way of predicting how you will respond to certain chemicals because "visibly" ND people are very likely excluded from the studies.
You need a sitter. Preferably an ND one, who can also drive you to a hospital.

Hey everyone.
I'm a very sick trans man, living in Indianapolis, Indiana. I rent a cheap apartment with my permanently disabled trans man partner.
We've been homeless together, almost died together, it's been over three years with him now. But our lives have fallen apart.
I've just lost my job because I became very ill ~12 weeks ago. There are growths in my pelvis and I've had recurrent infections for 18 months straight. The lymph nodes all over my body are swollen and hurt insanely bad. Now, my bones feel like they're being chewed on from the inside, or like they're on fire. I have severe brain fog and seizures and memory loss. I'm bleeding at the wrong times, too often. I can't relieve myself all the way or enough times. I've been hiding how sick I am but it's too damaging. I need treatment and have no insurance.
We have no money for bills or food and may lose our apartment. I've been making trips to food pantries when the pain eases a bit. The last date I was able to work was April 16th. We blew through the tax return a while ago.
I was cut from Medicaid after my last ER visit. I reapplied and was denied. We receive no income from the government to live.
I'm trying to find a job with health insurance day one that I can physically manage but I can barely stand up straight, I don't know how I'm gonna lie to anyone.
I promised my partner I would take care of him for the rest of our lives. My genetic risk for cancer is very high and now I'm scared it may be coming for me. I'm only 22, I can't let this go on anymore. I'm bedridden.
I need to come up with a real fundraiser or something but I'm too braindead to do it yet so this is my desperate plea to not lose our home while I try to get a better fundraiser going, and get to a doctor who would listen to me.
All money donated will be used toward rent due July 1st, some food, and bills like our phone and buying CBD for my pain management, it's the only thing that works anymore. Rent is $785/m, which includes a flat fee for utilities and a waiver fee (lack of renter's insurance).
I don't know who this will reach but thank you. Any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks again. I'll update as I receive donations and make sure to thank you personally if I can (dm/ask box is ok!). Hugs everyone.

Cannabis and Epilepsy: Exploring the Potential Benefits
Tumblr media
cannabiotix price
Epilepsy, a neurological disorder characterized by recurrent seizures, affects millions worldwide. Traditional anti-epileptic drugs (AEDs) can be effective, but many individuals experience side effects or don't achieve adequate seizure control. As a result, there's growing interest in alternative treatments, including cannabis. While research is ongoing, evidence suggests that cannabis, particularly CBD (cannabidiol), may offer significant benefits for some individuals with epilepsy.
Understanding Epilepsy:
Epilepsy is caused by abnormal electrical activity in the brain, leading to seizures. Seizures can manifest in various ways, from brief staring spells to full-body convulsions. The goal of epilepsy treatment is to reduce the frequency and severity of seizures.
CBD and Epilepsy: The Science Behind the Seizure Reduction
CBD's potential for treating epilepsy stems from its interaction with the endocannabinoid system (ECS), a complex network in the brain that regulates neuronal excitability. While the exact mechanisms are still being investigated, CBD is thought to:
• Reduce Neuronal Excitability: By modulating the activity of certain receptors, CBD may help stabilize neuronal activity and prevent the excessive firing that leads to seizures.
• Increase Inhibitory Neurotransmission: CBD may enhance the activity of GABA, an inhibitory neurotransmitter that helps calm the brain.
• Reduce Inflammation: Inflammation in the brain can contribute to seizures. CBD's anti-inflammatory properties may help reduce seizure frequency.
FDA-Approved CBD Medication: Epidiolex
The most significant breakthrough in cannabis and epilepsy treatment is the FDA approval of Epidiolex, a purified CBD medication for the treatment of certain severe forms of epilepsy, including:
• Dravet Syndrome: A rare and severe form of epilepsy that begins in infancy.
• Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome: A complex form of epilepsy that typically begins in childhood.
• Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC): A genetic disorder that causes tumors to grow in various organs, including the brain.
Clinical trials have shown that Epidiolex significantly reduces seizure frequency in individuals with these conditions.
Beyond Epidiolex: Other Cannabis Products
While Epidiolex is the only FDA-approved CBD medication for epilepsy, some individuals with other forms of epilepsy may find benefit from other cannabis products, such as CBD oils or whole-plant extracts. However, it's crucial to:
• Consult with a Neurologist: Talk to your doctor before using any cannabis products for epilepsy.
• Choose Reputable Products: Select products that have been third-party tested for purity and potency.
• Start Low and Go Slow: Begin with a low dose and gradually increase it until you find the right level of seizure control.
• Monitor for Side Effects: Be aware of potential side effects, such as drowsiness, diarrhea, and changes in liver function.
• Avoid Replacing Traditional Medications: Cannabis should not be used as a substitute for traditional AEDs without consulting with your doctor.
Cannabis, particularly CBD, shows promise as a potential treatment for epilepsy. While Epidiolex offers a proven option for certain severe forms of epilepsy, further research is needed to explore the benefits of other cannabis products for other types of seizures. Close collaboration with a neurologist is essential for safe and effective cannabis use in the management of epilepsy.

Tourette's Awareness Month - Day 8: treatments
As of writing this post, there is no cure. There also isn't really any direct treatment specifically for Tourette's; a lot of medications that are used to help are actually for other conditions.
I don't have much knowledge on medications. I've always been too scared to try any in fear of them not working or making my tics worse, or the side effects being too much to handle.
Some medications used to decrease tics include medications for schizophrenia, bipolar, ADHD, blood pressure, anti-seizure medication. However, all of these have side effects and don't always work for people and their tics, or some (like the ADHD stimulants) may increase tics. @fentrashcat has a little more information on these medications.
Other treatments/management techniques can include:
Habit/tic reversal therapy/training
Tackling any underlying issues that are contributing to the frequency and intensity of the tics
Deep brain stimulation or even the surgical implantation of electrodes
More general therapy to help with stress and anxiety reduction, and help cope with the condition itself
CBD oil
As I have only tried a couple of these (general therapy and CBD oil), I'm in no way to medically advise anyone. I can only give my personal experiences on these two.
I've found CBD oil to be incredibly helpful personally. It's the only thing I've found to make a proper positive difference to my tics - as well as OCD, sleep, anxiety, and stress levels. Unfortunately, in the UK it is very expensive and I depend on my PIP benefit to fund it.

Does CBD Work for Cat Anxiety?
The question of, ‘does CBD work for cat anxiety,’ arises on a regular basis. The short answer, yes. CBD Does work for cat anxiety. CBD is short for cannabidiol, a naturally occurring molecule found in the cannabis plant. CBD oil is made by extracting CBD from hemp, then diluting it with carrier oils like coconut or olive oil. CBD oil is becoming more popular as a treatment for animals suffering…

I had a seizure this afternoon. Not a tonic-clonic, but enough that I'm too tired to do much more sewing. I'll be able to finish the quilt top in the span of a couple hours, so it'll be finished tomorrow.
No worries. I'm okay. Remember, I have seizures daily, but rarely thr big ones now because of my CBD+THC edible I take every night for chronic pain and insomnia. My ADHD med is also making a huge difference. Still, my epilepsy will never be 100% controlled.
DO NOT OFFER ADVICE!!! Nor hugs. This is a daily event, I'm fine. Just letting y'all know why there won't be WIP pics.
In other news, I found these yesterday:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both from the 1930s. The Singer needs major repairs, the Gritzner is $200 and works. The latter is also 100% manual, no electricity is used as far as I can tell. Nope, didn't buy them. It was just a cool find.
