“It’s the smell of western Pennsylvania woodlands carrying through the air, through the kitchen window she cranks open, turning it slow, slowly, and slower each time I visit. It’s the smell of the cigarette smoke and the smoke from bonfires carried on through November evenings, my mom sat nearby with the smores sticks, chocolate, and marshmallows. It’s that mix of cigarette and bonfire smoke blowing up towards the old abandoned barn and forming figures– shadows that make you ask, do you see that? What is that– that over there, by the barn?

It’s running up the hill and catching fireflies, and it’s running back down with the yellow-green light pulsing from between my fingers, shouting for a jar before the poor bug escapes. It’s the color blue that drenches her kitchen– cobalt blue everything, wine glasses, water glasses, salt and pepper shakers and pill bottles, cobalt blue cups filled with toothpicks and cobalt blue chickens on the shelves. White and baby blue china on the walls, not for touching, not for use, but for background color to fill in the blue with– yes– more blue. It’s the hens, the ceramic ones and the plastic ones, the stained glass ones and the taxidermied ones, the one on the staircase with the handmade ragdoll riding it, the ones on the plates and the plaques donned on the wall. And, it’s Grandma Bonbon, sat across from me now–I’m too old to chase bugs, and she’s too old to not tell me her life story. It’s Grandma Bonbon, sitting at the same, long dining table like always, the blue and white plaid cover from my childhood now gone, the dark varnish exposed and catching her cigarette ash as she asks me, ‘Do you smoke?’”

The Strangest Client I Remember After 5 Years in Webcam Work

I’ve had my fair share of odd requests throughout my time as a webcam model, but one stands out. It was a simple yet strange ask. A client requested that I talk to him as if I were his "personal fortune teller." It wasn’t about fantasies or fetishes — it was just him wanting me to predict his future in a mystical, theatrical manner. At first, I was a bit thrown off by the request, but then I realized that, in this line of work, it's important to stay calm, set boundaries, and adjust to what clients need, as long as it doesn’t compromise your dignity.

I handled the situation as best I could, tapping into my creative side, and gave him a playful yet professional experience. It wasn’t about fulfilling some weird fantasy, it was about creating a moment of entertainment, a bit of an escape for him. After all, webcam modeling isn’t just about physical interaction; it's about providing connection, conversation, and an experience.

The key, however, is maintaining your boundaries. Keeping the work professional and staying true to yourself are the most important things. Webcam work is just that — work. And like any job, it's essential to be respectful of your own limits and maintain your dignity while providing your clients with the experience they're seeking.

It was one of those moments that reminded me of the diverse ways people interact with the industry, but also of the responsibility we have as models to uphold our own standards.

it's, it's a funny story actually, so,

So I, I was trapped in a bubble, but not really trapped, I liked it there and he was there with me and he was warm. I couldn't see out but everybody could see in, but I didn't know that because, again, I couldn't see out, ha. The walls were like black holes but I knew they were there, I felt them against my palms, they were smooth like air but present like cement. After a while I learned the perimeter by heart. It’s okay, I was never claustrophobic, it’s okay it was cozy. It was, at least, spacious enough that I could lean against one wall of the sphere and him the other and the only part of us that’s touching is our toes, and, ha, I play and kick at his feet and often he ignores me, but that’s okay, we’re in this bubble together, it’s okay.

When we got here we were wrapped around one another like kittens or maybe baby fawns, sleeping in a yin-yang shape, my head against his navel and his head against my chest. Everyone who saw us saw the looks on our faces, the looks of eternal slumber, the serenity, saw the youth pouring out of his body into mine and mine into his. We were parasites feeding off of one another, but in a good way, you know, and the feed kept going back and forth, back and forth in an endless loop, until eventually our bodies started digesting and gnawing at the nutrients and soon the supply was low. I, I let him take mine at one point because, because I didn't want him to go hungry, you know?

But before that, before that, I was in my own bubble, thank you very much, and he was in his, and I floated over to him and we grabbed each others’ hands and reeled each other in, pulling and pulling and pulling and pulling until finally his bubble merged almost popped– that was a little nerve wracking, ha– but it merged into mine and there we were, lovers intertwined. It was a love story, not to boast.

I was a fawn at least, curled up like I was on the side of the road, not mangled with my guts on the ground but hit just hard enough to knock me out until I passed through my sleep. In a peaceful way, out of my misery, right? And so long as I was in this bubble with him, I was in such a deep sleep.

I wanted to sleep against his chest for the rest of, for, for forever, as we floated around in the dark until the day he woke up from his sleep– and, can I tell you a secret? We were sleeping that whole time but, he, he thought we were sleeping that whole time and actually I, I stayed up the whole time and watched him sleep. He was so pretty. He was so pretty. At one point he stretched his arms in his sleep and pushed me to the other side of the wall. It was all okay, it was all okay, we were still in this bubble together. And I tried to kick his feet, and, and he hated it but it was okay, it was okay, I didn’t mind curling up on my own. I should have taken up less space, anyway, it was inconsiderate, so inconsiderate, of course, he wanted to stretch, it was such a tight space, and– ha– today he stretched really hard– ha– and the bubble burst can you imagine! It just burst and I saw everybody looking at us, at where we’ve been curled up for ages and they were asking me if I was okay and of course I’m okay, why wouldn’t I be okay, why are you here, when did you get here, and he was gone and I looked at myself and I was a mangled corpse against the cement and I was a mangled fawn against the cement and I was mangled and I was bleeding and my guts were splattered across the road against the cement and he, ha, he was in the car that drove past and I laughed and I told them, I told all the people who’d been looking, I told my mother I told my sister I told my best friend, I told them he’s just like this. He’s just like this. I let him go, I let him drive, and I– and the world, it– it got all blurry and blue and fuzzy and I fell asleep and I let him go and I let him drive, he's just like this, let him go, he's just like this.
