❝ POINTZERO❞⠀MULTIVERSE !! ☆ story connections explained. 1/2
Tumblr media
a while back I received an ask asking about the connections between my stories and the characters, so I wanted to do this for that <3
First of all, what is the "pointzero multiverse" made of? It encompasses the stories and characters I created at the age of 10 and that have evolved with me ever since. The main universe, so to speak, is "Nowhere and Everywhere", followed by its prequel, which actually tells of contemporary events, "Dog Days". In addition, we find the universe of "Before Sunrise" which although it may seem unrelated, its events are located in a large time skip after the aforementioned, like a sequel, but the other characters have almost no prominence here beyond mentions. Further back in time is "Under the Led Lights", a more cyberpunk universe, but one that still holds memories of the previous ones. And finally, we have the apocalyptic version I call "God is Dead". You could say these two are the possible distant futures; either everything leads to and evolves toward a more cybernetic future, or everything remains frozen in time while the living dead roam freely. But both keep memories and details of past characters. Now, why "pointzero"? Well, this is related to the name "Nowhere and Everywhere," that is, the place where everything and nothingness coexist at the same time, being and nonbeing (let's ignore parmenides here). So following the story that led me to all this is why I wanted to call it "PointZero Multiverse"
Tumblr media
NOWHERE AND EVERYWHERE !! ★
N&E it's my oldest story. It can be classified as a slice of life, and focuses on the lives of a group of people between 20 and 30 years old who have to face their addictions and their bad decisions while trying to overcome or accept their traumas. It is also very focused on music, love and the search for meaning in life, but with dark touches surrounding a large criminal group that seems to be everywhere controlling everything in its path. Finally, it is set in a huge crowded city where, despite there being people everywhere, the only thing you feel the most is loneliness.
₊˚☆. characters main page !! GENJI ⋆ ZEPHYRA ⋆ KNOX ⋆ ELIJAH ⋆ GENEVIÈVE ⋆ SETH ⋆ VIVIENNE ⋆ MOON ⋆ AUDREY ⋆ MONTGOMERY ⋆ MILAH ⋆ LEON ⋆ WINONA ⋆ ALEXEI ⋆ ASTRA ₊˚★. story !! beginning - latest ⋆ playlist ⋆ extras
Tumblr media
DOG DAYS !! ☆
With DD, we delve into the more criminal side, so to speak. It's contemporary in time with everything that happens in N&E but focuses on a completely different area of the map. The main theme is the search for meaning in life, and it closely follows the steps of Hanzō, a former member of a criminal group who seeks to find peace while facing the consequences of his past actions.
₊˚☆. characters !! HANZŌ ⋆ THEO ⋆ MAI ⋆ NOBUTOSHI ⋆ ROKURO ⋆ TSUBAME ⋆ LAVANYA ₊˚★. story !! I'm planning a revamp, so no links for now.
Tumblr media
BEFORE SUNRISE !! ★
BS is set in a time skip. It doesn't focus as much on the previous characters, but it does closely follow the actions of the criminal group, especially the strange disappearances that have been occurring in the town. I don't plan to present it as a story with dialogue and such; rather, it will be individual scenes that follow a certain order.
₊˚☆. characters !! ATTICUS ⋆ GABRIELE ⋆ ANDREA ⋆ PRIMROSE ⋆ VERA ₊˚★. story !! latest ⋆ extras

how to build a digital music collection and stuff
spotify sucks aaaass. so start downloading shit!!
file format glossary
.wav is highest quality and biggest
.mp3 is very small, but uses lossy compression which means it's lower quality
.flac is smaller than .wav, but uses lossless compression so it's high quality
.m4a is an audio file format that apple uses. that's all i really know
downloading the music
doubledouble.top is a life saver. you can download from a variety of services including but not limited to apple music, spotify, soundcloud, tidal, deezer, etc.
i'd recommend ripping your music from tidal or apple music since they're the best quality (i think apple music gives you lossless audio anyway. .m4a can be both lossy and lossless, but from the text on doubledouble i assume they're ripping HQ files off apple music)
i also love love love cobalt.tools for ripping audio/video from youtube (they support a lot of other platforms too!)
of course, many artists have their music on bandcamp — purchase or download directly from them if you can. bandcamp offers a variety of file formats for download
file conversion
if you're downloading from apple music with doubledouble, it spits out an .m4a file.
.m4a is ok for some people but if you prefer .flac, you may wanna convert it. ffmpeg is a CLI (terminal) tool to help with media conversion
if you're on linux or macOS, you can use parameter expansion to batch convert all files in a folder. put the files in one place first, then with your terminal, cd into the directory and run:
for i in *.m4a; do ffmpeg -i "$i" "${i%.*}.flac"; done
this converts from .m4a to .flac — change the file extensions if needed.
soulseek
another way to get music is through soulseek. soulseek is a peer-to-peer file sharing network which is mainly used for music. nicotine+ is a pretty intuitive (and open-source) client if you don't like the official one.
you can probably find a better tutorial on soulseek somewhere else. just wanted to make this option known
it's bad etiquette to download from people without sharing files of your own, so make sure you've got something shared. also try to avoid queuing up more than 1-2 albums from one person in a row
tagging & organizing your music
tagging: adding metadata to a music file (eg. song name, artist name, album) that music players can recognize and display
if you've ripped music from a streaming platform, chances are it's already tagged. i've gotten files with slightly incorrect tags from doubledouble though, so if you care about that then you might wanna look into it
i use musicbrainz picard for my tagging. they've got pretty extensive documentation, which will probably be more useful than me
basically, you can look up album data from an online database into the program, and then match each track with its file. the program will tag each file correctly for you (there's also options for renaming the file according to a certain structure if you're into that!)
there's also beets, which is a CLI tool for... a lot of music collection management stuff. i haven't really used it myself, but if you feel up to it then they've got extensive documentation too. for most people, though, it's not really a necessity
how you wanna organize your music is completely up to you. my preferred filestructure is:
artist > album > track # track
Tumblr media
using a music player
the options for this are pretty expansive. commonly used players i see include VLC, foobar2000, clementine (or a fork of it called strawberry), and cmus (for the terminal)
you can also totally use iTunes or something. i don't know what audio players other systems come with
i personally use dopamine. it's a little bit slow, but it's got a nice UI and is themeable plus has last.fm support (!!!)
don't let the github page fool you, you don't have to build from source. you can find the releases here
click the "assets" dropdown on the most recent release, and download whichever one is compatible with your OS
syncing
if you're fine with your files just being on one device (perhaps your computer, but perhaps also an USB drive or an mp3 player), you don't have to do this
you can sync with something like google drive, but i hate google more than i hate spotify
you can get a free nextcloud account from one of their providers with 2GB of free storage. you can use webDAV to access your files from an app on your phone or other device (documents by readdle has webDAV support, which is what i use)
disroot and blahaj.land are a couple providers i know that offer other services as well as nextcloud (so you get more with your account), but accounts are manually approved. do give them a look though!!
if you're tech-savvy and have an unused machine lying around, look into self-hosting your own nextcloud, or better yet, your own media server. i've heard that navidrome is a pretty good audio server. i unfortunately don't have experience with self-hosting at the moment so i have like zero advice to give here. yunohost seems to be a really easy way to manage a server
afterword
i don't know if any of this is helpful, but i just wanted to consolidate my personal advice in one place. fuck big tech. own your media, they could take it away from you at any moment

nba!gojo x manager!reader || directory. || prev.
summary: you thought you'd gotten rid of arrogant NBA star satoru gojo when he left the curses after your first year in basketball management. but when your contract is up three years later, you find yourself working with him once again as the manager for the sorcerers. as you navigate playoff season alongside long-time friend ieiri shoko and the sorcerers' insufferable star player, you start to realize his sudden departure from the curses may not have been what it seemed, and maybe gojo isn't exactly the person (or player) you thought he was, either.
warnings: language, definitely not accurate in terms of the structure of professional basketball management but it's fine, the ACTUAL last part this time, grossly cute, shenanigans, toge talks, the return of uncle sukuna || sfw. 3.7k words.
Tumblr media
"YOU KNOW, YOU'RE not fooling anyone," Tsumiki says, raising a brow at your jersey with an amused glint in her eyes.
“No?” You spin around to show it off, and Kento gives you a little two-fingered salute from across the roof, where he’s mid-conversation with Ieiri. The jersey’s not even yours, but you hadn’t even finished saying I wanna mess with Satoru before Kento handed it over without question. Satoru hasn’t shut up about it all night, the fact that your jersey has NANAMI printed in big, blocky letters across the back.
“She’s fooling me,” he whines, tugging at the fabric of your shirt. You can’t help the smirk that spreads across your lips. But you lean into him, pressing your cheek into his shoulder, and his indignation turns into a lazy grin.
The open space exposes you to the perfect summer air, a faint breeze blowing in off the coast, and you stand at the edge of the roof deck with its string lights and music and feel warm as you watch all your boys mill around, laughing and rough-housing and taking awful .5 selfies. The stadium’s VIP level is all yours tonight, the rest of the facility dark and empty beneath you, the lights and sound from the city below floating up to rest along the railings.
Megumi wanders up to the three of you, Yuji in tow. “Nice shirt.” Satoru leans over with an arm out, and you grab his wrist right before he can flick Megumi square in the forehead.
“It’s my new favorite,” you tell him, louder than you need to. “Don’t think I’m ever gonna take it off—”
You’re cut off with a yelp as Satoru effortlessly swings you around and over his shoulder, whistling casually as he starts to walk in circles around Yuji and the Fushiguros.
“Toru!” you shout, pounding on his back with no real strength behind it. You could probably just knee him in the stomach if you really wanted to get down, but your heart’s light in your chest as you force down your laughter, pretending instead to be enraged. “Put me down.”
He hums, striking up a conversation with Yuji instead. “You hear something? Huh.”
Tsumiki catches your eye as she moves to the other side of Satoru, out of view, and wiggles her fingers in front of her, mouthing something. It takes you a second to figure out what she’s telling you to do, and then a grin breaks across your face.
You start tickling him.
“Oh my god—hey!” He spins around and plants you on your feet as you look up at him innocently, clasping your hands primly in front of you and shrugging.
“Menace,” he says fondly, and just slings an arm around your shoulder, pulling you into his side like it’s the most natural thing in the world. And maybe it is.
It’s been a week on the dot since the Sorcerers took home the title, and what a week it’s been. Riko landed yesterday to get acquainted with the team, and right now she’s sandwiched between Ino and Toge, waving her arms around animatedly while she rambles. They’re hanging onto her every word, and you know she’s gonna be good for this team. You know it with the same certainty you always predict the playoff seeds, and the way you know what Nobara’s about to say as she strolls over with a champagne glass in each hand and her nose wrinkled ever so slightly.
And right on cue: “You’re disgustingly cute,” she says, handing you one of the glasses as you disentangle yourself from Satoru.
“I know I am,” you say, just to hear his indignant protest. Whatever snarky reply he has in queue is cut off as Yaga’s booming voice carries across the roof, and you turn to face the source of the sound on instinct.
Yaga has always had the kind of commanding presence that doesn’t require a lot of noise. He’s fairly stoic, though everyone who’s spent more than five minutes with him knows he’s pretty soft, and he when he does speak, people listen.
“I’m not one for speeches,” he says, to which Toge immediately starts chanting, “Speech! Speech! Speech!”
Okay, most people listen.
Yaga was clearly going somewhere with this, but now he clears his throat and stares Toge down in a way that makes him freeze mid-fist pump.
“But,” Yaga says, “since Inumaki is clearly intimately familiar with the importance of vocalizing your feelings, I suppose I’ll leave it to him to wrap up the season.” Toge briefly looks like he’s considering jumping off the roof, but Yuta smirks and nudges him forward. He shrugs and apparently decides to embrace it, swaggering up to Yaga and standing on the doorstep to the rooftop entrance like it’s a stage.
Toge is one of the most chaotic people you know, but he does it in kind of a quiet way. He honestly doesn’t talk a lot, especially compared to some people on this team. And you have no idea how this is going to go.
He clears his throat dramatically and waves a hand, saying, “Thank you, thank you, you’re too kind.” Hakari boos, and it only eggs Toge on more.
“Ladies and gentleman of the best team in the world,” he proclaims, flourishing his arms so aggressively he nearly falls right off the step. If you didn’t know Toge, you’d probably assume he was tipsy. “We began this humble season with nothing but a new draft pick and a dream. And not the poetic kind. The kind of weird almost-fever-dream that makes you wonder what it would be like to take LSD, probably.”
“God, here we go,” Nobara snorts, and you realize she’s already been recording. You have literally never heard Toge speak this many consecutive words, and you’re kind of speechless.
“I like to think of myself as an optimist,” Toge says, and you can hear Yuta laugh, “but did I think we were gonna kick San Diego’s ass this year? Not really. But, there were a few things I failed to consider. Number one!”
He points at Junpei, who goes bright red where he’s now standing by Riko, and Ino leans over to ruffle his hair. “Mister Fresh-Outta-College over here. Nobody’s underestimating you after that performance.” Satoru lets out a whoop that has the whole rooftop exploding in cheers, and Junpei looks so sheepish—you don’t see humble like that in pro sports very often. He’s a sweetheart. You hope he gets to stay this way.
“Number two!” Toge yells when the commotion has died down, and he points—directly at you? You glance back to make sure, but the only person behind you is Tsumiki, who’s grinning at you and looking proud.
Satoru nudges you with his elbow and beams, and now you’re the one going red as Toge continues, “Our manager, who—in her first season with us—herded us all to championships and saved our asses in more ways than I can count. And I can count, like, pretty high, because I majored in business in college so I wouldn’t have to do anything.”
“This is the most cursed speech I’ve ever heard,” Ieiri snorts.
Nobara’s got the camera on you now, and you try not to look too embarrassed, but everyone’s eyes are on you. “She’s the only reason any of us ever got on a plane to anywhere,” Toge says. “Popcorn, Yuta.”
Yuta just stares at him blankly for a second before he realizes what his idiotic best friend is doing, and then he turns to you and smiles. “She’s the only reason any of us have sponsorship deals,” he says. “Ino?”
“She’s the only one who laughs at my jokes!” he calls, and you do laugh. You can’t help it. You feel so incredibly warm all over as every guy on the team thanks you for something, from things that are literally just your job to stuff as personal as looking out for their families in the stands or remembering birthdays or planning this end-of-season celebration.
Yaga jumps in with a pointed glance at Riko and says, “Making sure this team stayed in good hands even as she moves on to bigger and better things.”
“Getting shit done,” Kusakabe says bluntly. “And making sure the lot of you assholes do, too.”
“Keeping that dumbass in check,” Megumi huffs, looking pointedly at Satoru.
Finally the only one left is Satoru, who glances down at you with so much affection in his gaze you almost have to look away.
“She makes me a better player,” he says, “but she makes me a better person, too.” He looks out across the roof, at all his teammates and their friends and families gathered with wind-flushed cheeks and tipsy smiles. “She makes all of us better.”
“If you kiss right now, I’m jumping,” Megumi says, and Tsumiki swats him on the shoulder. Satoru grins at him like the little shit he is, and then he’s grabbing you by your jersey and pulling you into a bruising kiss. It’s exaggerated and obnoxious, all for show, and you can’t help smiling against his lips, laughing as you pull away and Toge picks up his insane speech, thanking Nobara and Shoko and the coaches and Kento.
“He’s gonna say number seven is the power of friendship,” Megumi says flatly.
Yuji grins. “How do you know there’s a number seven?”
“NUMBER SEVEN!” Toge hollers. “The power of—”
The door abruptly opens behind him, nearly knocking him off the step.
The man who steps through the door has a Sorcerers jersey on, a beer in his hand, and familiar, unnerving eyes that are only made more pronounced by the tattoos printed across his face. Yuji’s head drops onto Megumi’s shoulder.
“SORCERERS IN SEVEN!” Sukuna hollers, brandishing the beer in the air. Sorcerers in seven. It’s… true, but also the maximum number of games you can have in a series, so… not really the most marketable campaign slogan?
For a long moment, it’s quiet.
And then the rooftop erupts all over again.
“Fuck it,” Toge calls, jumping off the step. “Let’s party!”
Someone hung one of those kids’ basketball hoops over the door, and a miniature ball is being thrown around as the guys try to make trick shots from ridiculous places on the roof. Hakari pulls Satoru away and blindfolds him in an attempt to recreate the series-winning shot, and it’s not going well so far. You walk over to Riko as the party goes on around you, the chatter punctuated by Sukuna’s booming voice (I HAD NO DOUBTS, NEPHEW, EXCEPT FOR THAT ONE TIME I HAD DOUBTS) and the little barks of Shiro and Kuro as they dart between peoples’ legs, chasing the ball.
Riko beams up at you when you come to stand next to her at one of the high-top tables. “I like these guys,” she says, watching the chaos unfold. “Thank you for this. I mean it.”
When you called, she was managing a semi-pro women’s league out in the northwest. She liked it, but it wasn’t the level of go-go-go she wanted. She’s always had a lot of energy.
“You're the best one for the job,” you say honestly, and she grins.
You’ll fly up to Manhattan in the morning to sign some paperwork at the WNBA headquarters, get a tour of the place, lay out your responsibilities for the upcoming season. The prospect of managing all those teams, seeing the season play out with some of the most kickass women you’ve ever met on the court—it fills you up with a sort of anticipatory hunger you haven’t felt since you played in college. It feels like it was always going to end up like this, somehow.
The WNBA hasn’t officially announced you yet, so for now you’re avoiding most of the media attention, but you know it’ll show up the second you walk out of headquarters. You’re more excited about the inevitable call from Kasumi, screaming about how she’ll get to see you more. Even though she's in the Western Conference, your role will put you in proximity pretty often.
And when you come home, it’ll be to this. A team that still loves you, with a bright-eyed new manager who you’ve assured can call you for anything and everything. To Satoru, and Megumi and Yuji and Tsumiki and the dogs. Dinner at his apartment or yours, falling asleep in a tangle of warm limbs. Home.
“You think they’re gonna win it all again?” Riko asks. You watch as Yuta jumps on Toge’s back, as if he can’t dunk in the tiny plastic hoop without the added height. As Megumi’s hand slips quietly into Yuji’s, and Sukuna—miraculously—just pats him unnecessarily hard on the shoulder with an approving nod. As Yaga and Kusakabe talk to Nobara by the railing, listening to her excitedly lay out her campaign ideas for next year.
As Satoru finally nails the shot and victoriously pulls the blindfold off, immediately scanning the surroundings for you and grinning that infectious smile.
“Yeah,” you say, smiling back. “Yeah, I do.”
[Transcript of a preseason interview with the Sorcerers’ Satoru Gojo, outside the training complex. He tugs his headband down around his neck, letting his hair fall in a mess around his eyes, and nods as he listens to a local reporter.]
JJ SPORTS JOURNAL: …hear the transition to Amanai’s leadership has gone smoothly. Are you and the team feeling good about the upcoming opening series under new management, right after such an effective run last season?
SATORU GOJO: Oh, yeah, Riko’s great. I mean… [smiles, chuckles] it’s hard to live up to our Alley-Oop, yeah, but she knew what she was doing when she recommended our new girl. She’s like, the most efficient little ball of energy ever. But the two of them, it’s like comparing apples to oranges—no, actually, that’s a stupid expression. Like, basketballs to baseballs, y’know?
JOURNAL: Uh… sure, yeah.
FOX SPORTS ONE: Gojo, what are your thoughts on the Kamo transfer? How is he fitting into the lineup so far?
GOJO: Oh, it’s like Choso's always been here. Itadori’s his half-brother, so he’s always had the connection here, and he was always a good opponent on the court. I think he’s really gonna add something to the attack. You can never have too much depth up there. I think he’s excited to get back to Savannah and play the Samurai. Nothing quite like going up against old teammates, I guess.
FS1: Speaking of old teammates, it sounds like you recently made the trip out to San Diego to see the Curses’ Suguru Geto. Seems to be a friendly rivalry. If I’m not mistaken, you’ve known him since high school. Having beaten him in the title series last season and knowing what both sides look like compositionally approaching the opener, knowing they’ve got some big trades on the horizon—would your approach to taking on the Curses change?
GOJO: Suguru’s a good player. He always has been. And we’ve been on paths since high school that took us different places, brought us back together again, y’know—lot of different trajectories. Feels like we’re growing at the same rate, a lot of the time. He’ll always be a threat on the court. But so will I. I think it’s just a matter of putting your best foot forward every time.
JOURNAL: The real question is, could he beat you in a game of pick-up basketball right now? [laughter]
[Gojo smirks, pushing his headband back up and glancing at someone out of frame, then shakes his head and chuckles.]
GOJO: Nah, I’d win.
MEGUMI FUSHIGURO: [from off-camera] Cocky!
[Gojo grins and sprints out of frame. Moments later, Fushiguro shouts in protest as Gojo laughs maniacally.]
FS1: Well, guess that’s that.
JOURNAL: Is someone filming this right now? This is hilarious—
[The camera shakes and pans to Gojo chasing Fushiguro around the parking lot. Yuji Itadori walks out of the training center and stares uncomprehendingly at the two of them before shrugging, dropping his bag, and joining Gojo in the chase.]
[Transcript of a press conference with the WNBA commissioner, conference coordinators, and a handful of head coaches, one month into the season. You sit to the right of Yuki Tsukomo, Mai Zenin on the opposite side.]
ESPN: Question for any and all of you present—well, I’ll maybe leave the coaches out of this one. Who are the top contenders for the title this season based solely off what you’ve seen so far?
MAI ZENIN: In the West, I think people should be real worried about the Shadows. Kasumi Miwa’s on fire these days; she’s leading the league in three-pointers right now, I believe. I’d watch out for the Wildfire, too. Nobody should be taking Momo Nishimiya lightly.
YOU: Yeah, I think the Shadows have always been a threat, but they’re particularly strong this year. From the Eastern Conference, I’d say the Captains are going strong. The Unity, too. When you’ve got players like Kirara Hoshi, Hana Kurusu… yeah, there’s a lot of contenders this year.
THE ATHLETIC: Ms. Tsukomo, we understand there was an unexpectedly quick turnaround on the Eastern Conference Coordinator role. What was the process of filling that position like? And Ms. Zenin—were you worried you were going to have to pick up that slack, fill in for both conferences if the vacancy wasn’t filled right away?
YUKI TSUKOMO: Oh, yeah, we knew we needed to get somewhere in here fast. Someone who already knew the ropes, could pick up where we left off, y’know? I thought of this girl immediately. [Tsukomo grins, gesturing to you.] You don’t see a lot of female management in the NBA, let alone with a track record like hers, and it was a no-brainer. I still can’t believe we got her on such short notice. She’s already been phenomenal—easiest decision I’ve ever made.
[Zenin plants an elbow on the table, leaning forward to speak into the mic.]
ZENIN: Yeah, I figured it was gonna be a rough go of it for me, that I’d probably have to take on West and East for a while until we could figure something out. But I literally didn’t have to do any extra legwork on my end. She stepped right up like she’s always been here. Made my life a lot easier. We’re lucky to have her.
[You smile sheepishly, waving Zenin off.]
THE WASHINGTON POST: Ma’am, how did you choose between this position and your prior management role, coming off such a successful season with the Sorcerers? And were you worried about leaving them high and dry, having done so much for the organization in such a short time? Plus, handling a star player like Satoru Gojo, that can’t be the most simple job in the world… [laughter]
[You smile, waiting for the crowd’s laughter to fizzle out before leaning forward to speak into the mic.]
YOU: Well, they’re in good hands. I wasn’t going to leave without knowing they were taken care of, and I couldn’t have picked a better successor than Riko. The guys love her already. She’s no-nonsense, but a lot of fun; that’s the hardest balance to strike in a role like that, and it comes so naturally to her. The team was very supportive of my career advancement, obviously—I’m sure you saw all of them show up to the WNBA Opener, which I honestly can’t be thankful enough for. I didn’t know they were going to do that. But yeah, I knew it was a good move for me. In terms of Satoru Gojo? [smirks] I have no doubts about his talent, but more importantly, I’ve seen the way that team works together. And Riko can take him down a peg if she needs to. I’ve already seen it happen.
SPORTS ILLUSTRATED WOMEN: One more before you go, and I apologize that it’s about the NBA—obviously you’re not as involved in the Sorcerers’ play as you were last season, but presumably your relationship with Satoru Gojo lends you some insight into the way they’re operating over the offseason. Having that sort of front row seat, do you think they’ve got a chance at doubling that title run this season?
[You pause, glancing at Tsukomo.]
YOU: I’m not a betting girl.
[Tsukomo laughs, a few cameras flashing as she nudges you with a shoulder and rolls her eyes.]
YOU: But if I was? [smiles] My money would be on the Sorcerers.
[Transcript of the tail end of a GQ interview with you and Satoru Gojo. It’s July and the NBA is in its offseason, with the WNBA on All-Star break. You and Gojo sit on director’s chairs beside one another in a studio, the interviewer off-screen.]
GQ: The two of you have taken the internet by storm. People are obsessed with your love story.
YOU: Honestly, I blame Nobara for that. Did you see she posted a fan edit of us on the actual Sorcerers TikTok page?
SATORU GOJO: She knows what the people want!
YOU: It’s you. You’re people.
GOJO: I understand the concept of demand—
YOU: You reposted it!
GOJO: Okay, well, we’re adorable.
[Gojo shrugs unapologetically and gestures for the interviewer to go on, chuckling.]
GQ: What has it been like navigating your relationship as both of you are traveling for work, for leagues that operate on wholly opposing schedules?
YOU: It actually makes it easier than it would if I was with a different NBA team or something like that. Y’know, his off season is my season, vice versa. And we both obviously have responsibilities during our respective off seasons too, but we both still live in the same city, so it’s not that much of a stretch. I do a kind of work I can do from a lot of different places, too, so there’s a flexibility there.
GOJO: Honestly, I’d go wherever she went, if she let me.
[You laugh and elbow him.]
GOJO: But for real, she’s always welcome at training and wherever we’re at. Once you’re part of the team, you’re on it forever, y’know? Sometimes the travel overlaps, and that’s always fun. But we’re making it work. Both doing our dream jobs. I don’t think a lot of people get to say that, so…
GQ: That’s great. Well, that’s all from me—I won’t take too much of your time. Thanks for being here.
YOU: Yeah, thanks for having us. We do need to get going, though— [grins]. We’ve got a wedding to get to.
[The interviewer gasps, and you burst out laughing.]
YOU: No, no—
GOJO: Not ours. [He smirks, looking at you as you laugh. His voice gets a little softer, and you clearly don’t hear him as he says something under his breath.] Not yet, anyway.
FIN.

a/n: surprise! i've been thinking about this epilogue for months and just haven't gotten around to writing it, but i figured with the actual NBA playoffs it'd be timely. i truly didn't know shit about the NBA/the playoffs before i started writing this fic and the other day i had a conversation with my dad about them and he was so shocked that i knew what i was talking about, and i was like "how do i tell him the reason i understand this" LMAO
fun fact: i actually wrote this fic as a gift for my friend's birthday, and the whole focus of the tournament was different because it was centered around an in-state rivalry and then i decided to get tumblr and post it and changed the whole thing so everyone say THANKS GRETA
guys conference coordinator is NOT a real thing. i very much made this up and this isn't really how managers work but just. ignore the inaccuracies for the sake of the plot pls
also they’re going to miwa & muta’s wedding if that wasn’t clear! hope you enjoyed the chaos of NBA!gojo. this is done for real now:)

Wanna find your fav old fic but it's now lost? Aaronmelzak's Harry Potter Fanfic Archive of 100+ Sites/Forums Is Now Hosted Via Me In Accessible Format✨
✦•··················INFO·····················•✦
╔══════════════════════╗
Someone archived/collected over 100 sites/forums for HP Fanfic. This doesn't only include popular ones like AO3, FFN, HPFF, Mugglenet but very small pairing-centric and smaller communities like Checkmated, Gryffindor Tower, The Full Moony, The Restricted Section and so much more.
This is not only an extreme service to data preservation in regards to creative works, but for fandom history as a whole. Upon my post in the hpff subreddit, I had people backing up these files from the torrent & my hosted link to their own cloud service of choice, and people planning to do the above once their dl was finished. You have free reign to do the same, including taking my folder and uploading it to share. The only request is that you of course link back to the original archivist, and if you choose to change the file structure, disclaim how it has changed from the very original structure.
To help the apparent confusion: This comes as a torrent file unless you choose to look through the archive link by zips. This is a good way, but doesn't allow to see the file structure as the archivist created. So I downloaded almost 100 GB & uploaded it, file structure as is, besides a few changes which I will put below. You are now able to browse at will through the folders, which are sorted. This was done due to ease of access. You will need to use a program like winrar/7zip which is as simple as opening the zip through said program, which allows you to view it. This is also available on smartphone. To view the directories, you need to open the .csv files through excel which is just as simple as the above, and is also on smartphone.
The list of archived sites is long, so I won't be including it here. If you don't wanna look through the folders yourself at which zips are provided, send me a PM and I'll get back to you as quick as I can💖
To note: I'm only sharing 50% of transfer quota. Wish I could share more, but I've already shared 200 GB.
Changes made from original archivist file structure:
"No longer updated" + "Assorted" folder: now mixed and called "Original Fan Sites- Misc- Assorted"
"Actively Updated" folder: now called "Last Updated 2023"

I'd been seeing videos on Tiktok and Youtube about how younger Gen Z & Gen Alpha were demonstrating low computer literacy & below benchmark reading & writing skills, but-- like with many things on the internet-- I assumed most of what I read and watched was exaggerated. Hell, even if things were as bad as people were saying, it would be at least ~5 years before I started seeing the problem in higher education.
I was very wrong.
Of the many applications I've read this application season, only %6 percent demonstrated would I would consider a college-level mastery of language & grammar. The students writing these applications have been enrolled in university for at least two years, and have taken all fundamental courses. This means they've had classes dedicated to reading, writing, and literature analysis, and yet!
There are sentences I have to read over and over again to discern intent. Circular arguments that offer no actual substance. Errors in spelling and capitalization that spellcheck should've flagged.
At a glance, it's easy to trace this issue back to two things:
The state of education in the United States is abhorrent. Instructors are not paid enough, so schools-- particularly public schools-- take whatever instructors they can find.
COVID. The two year long gap in education, especially in high school, left many students struggling to keep up.
But I think there's a third culprit-- something I mentioned earlier in this post. A lack of computer literacy.
This subject has been covered extensively by multiple news outlets like the Washington Post and Raconteur, but as someone seeing it firsthand I wanted to add my voice to the rising chorus of concerned educators begging you to pay attention.
As the interface we use to engage with technology becomes more user friendly, the knowledge we need to access our files, photos, programs, & data becomes less and less important. Why do I need to know about directories if I can search my files in Windows (are you searching in Windows? Are you sure? Do you know what that bar you're typing into is part of? Where it's looking)? Maybe you don't have any files on your computer at all-- maybe they're on the cloud through OneDrive, or backed up through Google. Some of you reading this may know exactly where and how your files are stored. Many of you probably don't, and that's okay. For most people, being able to access a file in as short a time as possible is what they prioritize.
The problem is, when you as a consumer are only using a tool, you are intrinsically limited by the functions that tool is advertised to have. Worse yet, when the tool fails or is insufficient for what you need, you have no way of working outside of that tool. You'll need to consult an expert, which is usually expensive.
When you as a consumer understand a tool, your options are limitless. You can break it apart and put it back together in just the way you like, or you can identify what parts of the tool you need and search for more accessible or affordable options that focus more on your specific use-case.
The problem-- and to be clear, I do not blame Gen Z & Gen Alpha for what I'm about to outline-- is that this user-friendly interface has fostered a culture that no longer troubleshoots. If something on the computer doesn't work well, it's the computer's fault. It's UI should be more intuitive, and it it's not operating as expected, it's broken. What I'm seeing more and more of is that if something's broken, students stop there. They believe there's nothing they can do. They don't actively seek out solutions, they don't take to Google, they don't hop on Reddit to ask around; they just... stop. The gap in knowledge between where they stand and where they need to be to begin troubleshooting seems to wide and inaccessible (because the fundamental structure of files/directories is unknown to many) that they don't begin.
This isn't demonstrative of a lack of critical thinking, but without the drive to troubleshoot the number of opportunities to develop those critical thinking skills are greatly diminished. How do you communicate an issue to someone online? How do look for specific information? How do you determine whether that information is specifically helpful to you? If it isn't, what part of it is? This process fosters so many skills that I believe are at least partially linked to the ability to read and write effectively, and for so many of my students it feels like a complete non-starter.
We need basic computer classes back in schools. We need typing classes, we need digital media classes, we need classes that talk about computers outside of learning to code. Students need every opportunity to develop critical thinking skills and the ability to self-reflect & self correct, and in an age of misinformation & portable technology, it's more important now than ever.

Mermay: Hibi
Tumblr media
Hibi is a records keeper from Volca, the Domain Silvyr and Thresh hail from. They are a Pygmy Seahorse, and true to their name, there's shorter than the average Zora. They're a bit delicate, but determined! Lore below the cut !
[Diplomatic Relations Directory]
Volca (@chaotic-zora) has a difficult history involving power grabs, destruction of the Domain's local resources, rampant corruption, and unilaterally deadly famine. Eventually the governmental tyranny ended in a coup led in part by Silvyr themself, and nearly all the old boys club royalty responsible for the Domain's decline were removed from their positions. Some rather violently.
Hibi, before becoming a record keeper, was a runner for miners working in Volca's eponymous undersea volcano. They're too small to reliably mine or carry heavy loads, so they worked to bring mining teams necessities like food, tools, news, warnings, etc.
After the coup, the royal and government structures were completely reworked. Many of Volca's population died as a result of famine, so people were pulled into positions they often had no experience nor background for. Hibi was no exception! They were tasked as a record keeper, and have been in that position since.
They've learned the ins and outs of the job-- it's not actually too hard! But they're run a little ragged by all the records requests from the King and often Silvyr. It's become an almost daily affair!
But Hibi does their job faithfully. It doesn't hurt that the King's footman shares his food with them once in a while... and he's rather handsome if a bit fussy (@vaquero-azul-art)... not to mention the very nice doorman knight who lets Hibi in and out every day... he's awfully easy on the eyes (@chaotic-zora)!
Hibi will eventually get tangled up in a fun little adventure with those two, but for now, it's work work work 8 days a week!
Hibi is intersex, specifically -predominately female with secondary masculine sex characteristics-. They are they/them and are somewhat androgynous. Intersex (used to be called hermaphrodite) is a pretty poorly understood phenomenon so I just wanted to clarify that it doesn't necessarily mean someone who has, for example, both male and female sex organs or is an even split of female & male. There's so much variance in this, and it's unfortunately super underrepresented (and usually not positively). So! Look into more it if you find the idea interesting!

What's this? It's Kael's correspondence from Mizoreth! Let's see what it says....
~~~~~~~
My dearest beloved Silvyr,
I've received your letter and I miss you so much, I can’t wait to come visit you again soon. Good news! Turns out titanium is a pretty common ore in Mizoreth and the lady Topha is more than happy to help send up resources.
Even more news, she announced to me that she will be accompanying my journey to Volca soon..I’m not sure why though. Maybe she likes dealing with negotiations in person?
Nevertheless she seems eager to get out for a while, and has already sent some soldiers down to gather the resources you requested.
I cannot wait to see you again soon and to visit my friends in Volca. I do believe the lady Topha will be arriving at a later time with the things you need and to work out the exchange.
I miss you,
Kael
~~~~~~~~~~
Mizoreth has the titanium ore Volca lacks, and not only that, they have it in abundance! This is excellent news. The Domain is in need of titanium ore for building purposes. With its high resistance to corrosion titanium doesn't rust easily in water, making it an excellent metal for long-lived structures built on and in water.
The next question becomes, what can Volca offer Mizoreth for this material?
(Thank you @squibbl3 for writing Kael's correspondence!)

EYES ONLY ON ME, PLEASE ╱ with DOUGLAS HADINE ㄨ LAZARUS ! READER ꩜ .ᐟ
「 ✉️ 」・:三 You are the newest team member of Lazarus. Doug develops a little crush. How would he act when jealous? Lol I can see Axel giving him hell for this if he ever found out.
Tumblr media
˚ ✦ . .   ˚ . . ✦
There’s a rhythm to team briefings—efficient, structured, tense. Douglas likes that. Thrives on it, even.
Except when you’re in the room.
Newest Lazarus recruit. A skill-set that Hersch sung praises for. Cleared faster than anyone since Axel. And somehow, you still manage to sit like you’ve got something to prove and nothing to lose at the same time.
Douglas doesn’t watch you. That would be ridiculous. He simply—… notices. Notices when you laugh under your breath at something Axel says. Notices your furrowed brows while you stare at the mission map, how you stay behind to study it longer than anyone else.
Today is worse.
A simple covert mission. Get in and get out. Hersch needed someone to infiltrate a high-end restaurant and gather information from a specific target—some rich business man.
He knew you could handle yourself. That wasn’t the problem.
The problem was watching it happen from behind a screen, stuck in the comms room with nothing but static tension in his shoulders and Axel chewing gum too loudly behind him.
You sat at the bar, posture relaxed, eyes bright—exactly like they trained. But when your target leaned in, resting his elbow dangerously close to your arm, Douglas’s patience cracked like a pressure valve.
“Get to the point,” he muttered under his breath, ignoring the sound feed as your voice turned just slightly breathy. “Get the intel and leave.”
Axel leaned over his shoulder, popping another gum bubble. “Is it just me, or do they flirt better than you do? I mean—... you’re practically helpless in that department.”
Douglas didn’t flinch. “Shut up, Gilberto.”
“No, really. They’ve got that whole ‘I’m just tipsy enough to trust’ act going. Very convincing. Almost like they’ve done this before.”
Douglas exhaled hard through his nose.
The target was smiling now. Laughing. His hand slid briefly toward yours on the table and Douglas’s knuckles tightened against the desk.
“Relax,” Axel said, grinning. “It’s part of the mission. You’ve said that like, what, fifty times?”
“They’re improvising.”
“They’re brilliant,” Axel corrected. “And you’re jealous.”
“I’m not jealous.”
“Uh-huh.”
Douglas didn’t answer. Because what would he say? That something twisted in his gut every time your hand brushed the man’s sleeve? That the voice in his head had switched from tactical analysis to get the hell away from them?
He had no right. Not officially. Not yet.
But that didn’t mean it didn’t ache.
You returned two hours later—safe, smiling, successful. And he barely looked up from the report.
You noticed.
He knew you noticed.
But if he looked at you right now, with your lip still painted in that same undercover smile, he might say something he couldn’t take back.
He didn’t need distractions. He needed distance.
Unfortunately, Axel didn’t believe in either.
“Hey,” he said later, cornering Douglas. “For someone who’s not jealous, you sure looked ready to break the monitor when that guy touched their hand.”
“I wasn’t—”
“You growled, Hadine. Like a—... pissed-off Rottweiler, yea.”
Douglas stared at him. “Do you want something?”
“Yeah,” Axel smirked. “I want to be there when you finally say it. Because if I have to be subjected to your pining, the least you can do is make it official.”
Douglas said nothing.
But that night, he knocked on your door.
Just once.
When you opened it, he didn’t speak right away.
He looked down. “I just didn’t like watching and being able to do nothing. That’s all.”
You stepped back, silently inviting him in.
And for the first time since the mission started, Douglas let himself breathe.
