Arius contended that Jesus was a created being, and thus not God. This line of thinking is still repeated today by various groups. However, there are some real problems with reconciling the rest of Scripture with this belief.
Here are just some of the problems this creates:
Jesus is God’s Son. If there was a time before He existed, then there was a time when God was not a Father. In order for God to become a Father (or anything else), He must first be able to change. But the Scriptures tell us that God is eternal and unchanging.
Colossians 1:16 states that everything was made through God and Jesus working together. Aside from the problem of having Jesus create Himself, this would imply that God was not able to create the universe unaided. If so, then there is a definite limit to God’s power, and He is neither omnipotent nor deserving of the title of God.
The wording of John 10:14-15 implies that Jesus knows God just as well as God knows Jesus. But a created being cannot know God fully. So either God’s knowledge has limits (which means He doesn’t deserve the title of God) or Jesus has just lied, and is thus not sinless.
Nothing can “beget” something unlike itself. People can’t give birth to dogs, nor can a dog give birth to a cat. For Jesus to be God’s only begotten Son, He must be of the same nature as God Himself. This either means that Jesus is another god, or somehow shares in God’s nature. But there is no logical way for Him to be something lesser in nature, like a creation.
God is Love. But love requires a target; in order to love, there must first be something for you to love. If there was a time before Jesus, then there must have been a time when God was alone. If God was alone, then there was nothing for Him to love, and He would need to become Love later on. Again, we’re left with a scenario where God must have changed, which doesn’t make sense.
And the list of problems continues from there.

I was walking out of the Walmart today, and a car passed me, and I got this incredibly vivid impression. It wasn't really in words, but if I had to put it into words, the two key points would be
a). I needed to watch that car and
b). That I needed to be careful, because the driver of the car was a massive bitch.
It kind of took me by surprise, because I really had no reason to be beefing with that car, and I also hadn't really had an impression like that since I was religious, which was in my teen years. Right? It'd been a decade since I had a little voice whisper in my ear, and I'd basically written it off as nonsense.
Anyway, I watched the car, because The Spirits or whatever were very insistent that I did. Car drove fine, went into the parking spot, inched forward, and right when it should've just stopped, the driver gunned it for some reason and it ran into the curb and cracked its bumper.
So, the driver got out, and she went to the front of the car to check that yes, she had cracked her bumper, and then she turned to look at me. The parking lot wasn't empty, but we were the only two people standing in that row, and I'd probably been staring at her for tenish seconds now.
She demanded very angrily to know why I hadn't warned her of the curb. And I could have said I didn't know you were about to gun it or is it my job to help every stranger park, or even could you have even heard me, inside your car?
And all of those would have been fine, but I was really, really busy digesting that I had somehow communed with Mormon Jesus again for the first time in fifteen years, and that the communion had mostly been there to let me watch someone park badly (?), so what I responded with was:
"Because it was foretold."
And I can't tell which would be funnier, if she went silent because there's not much to be said to that, or if she went silent because in Utah, she might actually believe me, but we parted ways without more words.
I'm still kind of digesting this myself, actually.

Critical analysis of Christianity and Islam
Food for Thought. Shakir Mumtaz. A fallacy believed by Christians and Muslims alike is that Jesus died on the cross in AD 30-33; Christians believe that Jesus had resurrected, but Muslims believe that he will return before the end of time. None of these
[Distortions in Christianity and Islam]  Hanifism, Sabianism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are developmental or evolutionary stages of monotheism. Before Islam, prophet Muhammad, Qura’an, all the religions, Prophets, and scriptures were provisional for a specific people. Qura’an testifies that these religions and their scriptures changed, and except for Holy Qura’an no scripture is extant in…

Why Saint Nick's Day is Awesome— Celebrating Generosity with the Ultimate Catholic Meme Collection
G.K. Chesterton once wrote, “It is the test of a good religion whether you can joke about it.” I certainly think that he would have (and hopefully you will) chuckle at the following joke:What do you call Santa when he has no money? Saint ‘Nickel-less’. Today is Saint Nicholas of Myra’s Feast Day. It’s also the greatest Catholic meme day of the year. 🙂🥊👊 Thinking about Saint Nicholas (aka Santa…

Who Is Jesus? by James R. Coggins
What do we think of when we hear the name “Jesus”? How do we picture Him? The baby in the manger in Bethlehem? The rabbi walking the streets of Galilee and Judea, preaching good news and healing people? Hebrews 1:1-4 presents a much different picture, a picture of a cosmic Jesus, a Jesus far greater than His 33 years of life on this earth in human form. First, this passage says that it was…

Guess Who!
___
JOKE-OGRAPHY: 1. In this Bible story, the apostles are hiding in fear and regret after Jesus's crucifixion. Suddenly, the resurrected Jesus shows up and they all rejoice. Well, all of them except Judas (who was... indisposed... if you catch my meaning) and Thomas (who presumably had errands). Later, when Thomas rejoins the apostles, they tell him they saw Jesus, but Thomas refuses to believe it. He's logical, but also very emotional after Christ's death. He needs to see and feel the wounds himself to believe. Days later, Jesus reappears while Thomas is with the apostles, and He offers for Thomas to feel His wounds. Thomas is amazed and believes now that he's seen, but Jesus blesses those who believe WITHOUT seeing. 2. In this cartoon, Peter tells Thomas about Jesus's appearance, and, as in the story, Thomas doesn't believe him. However, unlike in the story, as Thomas begins his declaration of doubt, Jesus sneaks up behind him and puts His hands over his eyes, urging Thomas to guess Who's behind him. The old "guess who" gag is popular among friends... so I'm told... though rarely do participants have giant see-through nail-wounds in their hands, defeating the purpose of covering someone's eyes. This is not only hilarious and funny, but also reverent and hole-y.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: One of my most popular comics, remastered for the modern age! This is a "Tomics Ascension," where I've taken a previously-redrawn comic (a "Tomics Resurrection") and redrawn it again! For my full breakdown of the previous versions, check out my latest free Patreon post, in which I bear my dark and tortured artist soul to the world for no money at all!

Happy Bread Jesus Everyone!
I have um. Hurt my back pretty badly, so I do not think I am capable of baking this year but:
1. Please tag me if YOU decide to make a bread Jesus. Or any other bread effigy I love that shit.
2. If I'm still human when I get back from the doctor this evening I will set up a discord channel and do a Live Reading.
3. Post will be at the top of my blog for anyone who wants to read it to their friends, family or religious authorities (highly recommended).
Love you all, thank you so much for all the love, support and joy You've given me over the years, and hopefully I will see you tonight!

relistening to tma and losing my mind more with each episode. anyways. today we're talking about how there are three characters in the show who are meant to be/groomed to be "the chosen one" for some specific purpose (agnes for the lightless flame, gerry to carry on some esoteric bloodline, jon for the watcher's crown/the web's escape plan) and all three of them have that running theme of being completely powerless in every aspect of their lives despite being made to be something powerful. we never get agnes' own perspective on her own life, gerry dies and is kept in limbo for *years*, and jon is marked to be the antichrist from age 8, like all of them were used as tools rather than people and if you couple that with all three at some point expressing that their fantasy is to live a normal life and be a normal person but they were trapped by divinity......fucked up if true
