What's the Endocannabinoid System?
Consider the phrase “endocannabinoid.” The phrase “cannabinoid” is derived from the word “cannabis,” and “endo” refers to the fact that it is formed naturally within the body. As a result, “endocannabinoid” actually refers to cannabis-like compounds that exist naturally in our dogs (and our) bodies. Our dogs, us, our cats, and other mammals all have the same endocannabinoid system. The ECS itself…

Chaos out west!!
While the FED changes their stance, the nation braces for change while California and others cringe. For many reasons, California has been producing some of the best, if not the best ganja in the country. For years now, legally, people have been able to have the privilege to buy this without prosecution. Thanks to those who paved the road to this path but we all know there is still work to do.…

Dear fellow stoners, I am disappointed. You do not pressure someone who has already said they don't like weed, who knows their body enough to know that they don't "just need the right kind of weed" or even a drop of oil. Cannabis contains hundreds of chemicals that we haven't even scratched the surface of. Yes, it is a genuinely fascinating plant. We need to study it and understand it and form relationships with how it works on our endocannabinoid systems. No, it's still not a panacea. It can't heal everything. No matter what they say, it's not the miracle you want it to be.
I've become hyperfocused on cannabis since I got my medical card in 2021. My friends joke that I'm a weed connoisseur. I use RSO and concentrate as my epilepsy medicine. I will slap anyone who tries to push it like it's going to solve every problem. Even if it might. You never know.
A major rule about recreational drugs is that when you offer politely, you respect every no, every refusal. I had this drilled into me at parties because we were all young but we had seen things.

CBD and Your Dogs Immune System
CBD and your dog’s immune system. How can it help? Regularly, bacteria, viruses, and other diseases surround us and our pets. Your dog’s immune system is important for disease protection and overall health. Within the immune system, white blood cells are responsible for seeking and destroying invaders as fast as possible. White blood cells, often known as leukocytes, are categorized as…

I saw your post about estrogen and nicotine. Do you know if there's anything out there about other forms of smoking (weed is the one I'm specifically curious about). Thanks 😊
this is an interesting question as well!
this one seems to be a toss up, however the endocannabinoid system is closely linked to and affected by hormones, and vice versa. it would seem as for some people, using estrogen hrt can cause the body to become more receptive to the effects of cannabinoids, whereas others find that using cannabis may make them more or less susceptible to processing estrogen HRT.
however, there are a very small amount of studies being done on this, and some of them seem dubious at best or rather flimsy. many of the studies i read have inconclusive answers, whereas with nicotine, there are a lot more studies being done on the matter. it seems that for most people, using cannabis will not affect estrogen HRT anywhere near as much due to nicotine as a substance neutralizes estrogens and dilutes the amount of them that you have in your body.
here's some information on the matter, which shows the subjective and inconclusive results, ranging from person to person, study to study:
i hope that helps and makes sense! good luck to you in your journey, if you have any more questions feel free to ask!

Uh I guess an update on this - I was approved! I should be getting my stuff today actually. Primarily oils but getting flowers as kind of an 'emergency inhaler' (I compare it to my puffer for asthma - also before you have a go at me my asthma is mild as heck and cannabis is actually a bronchodilator) - just need to get the equipment for that but it'll take a hot minute because setting this shit up was real expensive 💀
This is even with the discounts I get through the study I applied to - my Doc said I could probably get stuff cheaper but I really, really want to be in this study if it means I can help someone, somewhere, out there like me going through my exact horrible shit that I'd never wish on anyone but my worst enemies - a faster treatment. A treatment that might actually, finally work. Instead of spending the better part of 10 years throwing every pill imaginable at it for little to minimal gains.
Idk it's ... a silver lining. It makes me feel a lot better about myself. I have felt for the longest time I have little to no value in society around me. I have had that further imposed upon me when I was essentially abused by the systems put in place that were supposed to help the most disadvantaged - to the point I have c-ptsd (I mean sure, I might have been on the way to developing c-ptsd but the fact is I am pretty much 100% sure I did not have ptsd BEFORE they fucked with me). Because I can't work enough hours to survive, because I'm so damn battered - it feels like no one cares. No one wants me to live. It's damn dramatic, yeah but when all the support you can get is still financially below the poverty line here + the nightmarish level of paperwork and guidelines that are as clear as mud to apply for anything more (which even still, below the poverty line) - sometimes it feels like the government here would sooner cut off their arm than give me anything to live by. The only reason I have any money is because I'm relying on my parents for all basic need fulfillment (food, shelter, basic dignity and respect as a living human being).
But even with all that ... it finally feels like my train-wreck neurology might be worth something. And that is comforting.
Going to have my consult with a clinic tomorrow to see if they think I can get into this medicinal cannabis study - please send me good vibes, I'm super sick of having these anxiety drops and fighting bad thoughts every goddamn evening when my meds wear off and I'm running out of anxiety treatment options 😞
#kerytalk#I also read some interesting studies implicating deficits in the endocannabinoid system and Autism#or overactive microglia/too heckin many of them which are both synaptic pruners and run inflammation commands in the body#both of which can be better regulated via cannabinoids so#fingers fuckin' crossed we've hit gold#... cause jfc if I want to have any money to spend outside meds now I'm gonna need to be feeling well enough to work at least a teeny bit#study might be discounted#government? not helping at all with this#... any moots know of some good dry flower vapes? lol

How does Stella move on after the events of the Fall (all seasons)?
A houseful, a holeful
And yet you cannot
Gather a bowlful
What am I?
***
Burning in this cold fire, in this devouring frost. Turning into air, into incorporeal nothing. But still, still, she breathes.
Oxygen is so corrosive, even as we require it. In the end it always destroys. It’s the final electron acceptor; it’s why cyanide kills.
In the end, we slowly combust.
In the end only ashes rise.
***
She finishes the bottle of wine that night, carefully wobbling upstairs into the stale air of her bedroom. Stella turns all the lights on and strips her clothing off. She gathers her hair back into a ponytail so that she cannot hide behind it.
She stares at herself in the full length mirror and even in the warm glow of flattering bulbs, even with her fine swimmer’s body and her spun-sunshine hair, she looks ghoulish. Obscene.
Stella has delicate hellebore bruises on her face and throat still, petals of lavender and celadon in this thawing winter of her life. But she is good enough with subtle makeup to hide the worst of what Paul did to her face. She is a beautiful tragic Hitchcock heroine from the nipples up. Stella is neither cursed nor blessed with false modesty. She throws her shoulders back, takes a deep breath.
It’s her lower body that kept the real score.
Stella, bared, is violet and indigo and amethyst and aubergine. She has three broken ribs. The doctor said she’s lucky her liver wasn’t damaged. Said she’s lucky to have her spleen.
She’d smiled when he’d told her, like it was a good joke, a bit of lymphatic system humor among friends.
Stella leans into the pain now, in the bath of honest light. She splays her fingers, rests her hand against the battered skin and fractured bones. Presses harder, presses until-
“Christ,” she gasps, squeezing her eyes closed. The pain is so good and so cleansing, she -
Paul won and she must suffer for it, she-
Stars begin to fall across her vision and Stella moves her pale starfish hand away, sagging a little with the relief. With the endorphin rush. Hates herself for these weaknesses of her body. Of spirit.
Stella drops her eyes to her thighs, to the horizontal ghosts of loss and unhealed trauma. It’s the sharp pains that soothe her, the pure localized focus and the way the blood rises and beads and gathers into a thin line, into the shortest distance between two points.
Between then and now. It’s the fine dance of endocannabinoids, of endogenous opioids.
There are Wartenberg rollers in a velveteen box in her closet. She’s used them in bed with certain partners, but never beyond the light kinkiness of foreplay. She’s never sat alone and done herself real injury with them the way she sometimes aches to. Like a baker, like a sculptor, Stella knows the exact pressure her medium requires.
She had purchased them to tempt herself, to prove she was stronger than the hot honey sting that makes the hairs rise on the backs of her arms. She wants the pain badly now, the sweet bite of it, but resists.
She’ll take three fingers of Laphroaig later, neat. Feel it scald her from the inside, feel it kiss and burn. It’s not as good, but it helps and she already anticipates it.
Stella turns away from the mirror. She turns away from herself. She wants to call someone to come over, someone reliable she can trust not to make anything awkward in the morning. Rebecca, with her good hard runner’s thighs or Patrick with a cock you could raise a flag on.
Both.
She wants to let a stranger buy her a drink and take her to bed.
Take her up against a brick wall.
But it is not fair to make other people endure the shock of her battered torso. To make them choose between her injuries and her scars and her eyes and nothing at all.
She longs to swim naked and there are two pools she could go to alone, even at this hour, but she doesn’t trust herself alone in the deep, silent water. She is muscular; it takes work not to sink down and down and down.
In the end, in the inevitable dark, she lights a dozen candles around her deep soaking tub. Cedar and jasmine and frangipani and vetiver. Sets the bamboo bath tray with tea (Earl Grey) and lotion (Chantecaille) and her current book (Wolf Hall).
The water is atramentous and fragrant and fathomless as a night pool where selkies would bathe. Stella longs to cast off her human skin, to slip sleek and dark as a seal-maiden into the waves and into nothing.
She lets out a gasping sob as she sinks into the scalding murk, into volcanic salts and green oils.
The moon curls into herself outside the window. The light that falls onto Stella’s heaving shoulders is silver-white. Lonely.
The ghosts of stars who are also fire.

Wow, do we have a mind-blowing episode for you today! I sat down with Inesa, the incredible founder of Nesa’s Hemp, and boy did she pull back the curtain on the pharmaceutical industry’s dirty tricks in the cannabis and hemp world.
We start off by diving into the pharmaceutical industrial complex, yep, the folks who don’t exactly have our health as their top priority. Inesa shares her heart-wrenching story of coming to America from Lithuania, working 20-hour days, and watching her health tank under stress and a corrupt medical system that just piled on pills. At 25, she looked 45, nearly died, and lost organs. But her mom’s advice to “question everything” led her to ditch the drugs, change her diet, and heal herself naturally.
Then came the bombshell: her mom’s cancer diagnosis with six months to live. Inesa didn’t flinch, she knew there was a cure outside the pharma playbook. Eight years later, her mom’s cancer-free, healed in three months with no chemo or radiation, thanks to Inesa’s relentless global research. This led her to the endocannabinoid system, the body’s master switch that regulates everything, your immune system, mental health, inflammation, even your ability to absorb nutrients. It’s in mother’s breast milk, powering babies’ health from day one. But toxins, stress, and fake foods shut it down by your teens, leaving you defenseless.

notes: symptoms in this poll are defined as ptsd/trauma symptoms (dissociation, amnesia, hyperarousal, etc)
this is an inclusive poll for any type of system/system origin. but it’s specifically how weed affects systems with trauma. this is not syscourse and i want nothing to do with it!
reblogs are encouraged for sample size
i’m convinced that all the progress we’ve made since december has to do with THC and our endocannabinoid system and i’m curious if other people benefit the way we have.
#may do another poll if i get any interesting results from this#i’ve been fascinated with THC and how it impacts mental health#cuz it’s normally associated with making it worse#but it’s literally saved my life#curious to see if having DID is what allows me to benefit more#but yeah no syscourse you’ll be blocked on sight#pluralgang#plurality#multiplicity#systems#did#osdd#actually dissociative#actually plural#polls#tw drug mention#plural polls
