DOS2 combat gets easier once you realise that it's not just about getting enemies' HP to 0, but you need to do everything in your power so that enemy NPCs don't get to do anything when it's their turn.
When they have no armour at all, neither physical nor magic, they're an easy target, because there's a wide variety of ways to stop them - knockdown, stun, charm, freeze, sleep, petrification, etc.
I've learned that there's often no point spreading the damage between physical and magic if you can help it, because it just makes chewing through both kinds of armour take longer (unless you have to, of course).
When they have much less physical armour than magic, then you wear them down with physical attacks, until they have no physical armour left, then knock them down or turn them into a chicken. Atrophy can be helpful against melee combatants, but not 100% reliable.
When they have much less magic armour than physical, you zap them with magic until there's no magic armour left, then freeze them, or stun, or petrify, or charm, or put them to sleep, etc. Plenty of options there.
And when they also have the Perseverance talent (the most annoying one ever), so you don't want to stun them or knock them down, because the talent makes their physical and magic armour regenerate after most disabling statuses, guess what - IT'S CHICKEN TIME! THE CHICKEN CLAW SPELL STILL WORKS! Oh, the chicken form has timed out? MORE CHICKEN TIME! Learn Chicken Claw. And always carry some back up Chicken Claw scrolls. Not even the biggest dragon or the meanest demon can hurt you when it's a chicken. 👍🐔
#Divinity#Divinity: Original Sin 2#DOS2#DISABLING STATUSES ARE EVERYTHING IN THIS GAME#I suppose it goes without saying it's good to right-click and examine some enemies for resistances and immunities and talents#the problem is when you get on the level where enemies have like at least 2000 in each armour type#but the rule still applies anyway#deciding who attacks who according to their most prominent type of armour#don't get me started on countering statuses like always making sure you can fortify decaying friends#or peace of mind for when they're charmed or terrified#or frost armour for when they're stunned#or first aid when they're knocked down#or...#and then there's combining various damage types for different effects#like if an enemy is shocked you can just throw a water balloon at them to make them stunned because water + electricity is good#or when an enemy is wet you can easily freeze them because those effects also combine#ah I love the combat in this game like a lot#BG3 combat is really good and fun imo but DOS2 is even better

#ALL OF THAT #just remember the disappointment of many fans when Cas didn't appear on The Winchesters (and we only had hints!) #there's no showrunner here yet! not even a greenlit project! we don't even know if there are pitches or if they're just talking still! #what he *can* talk about is what aired already and he's been lovely about it (via @ironworked)
Not to be a Jackles defender bc I am not going to be a keyboard warrior for the rich actor man or claim to know what goes on in his head, but I truly don't understand people being actually mad about jackles dodging talking about Dean's feelings regarding Cas' confession. Like yes, you can read it as "Jackles doesn't think Dean reciprocates and is just trying to fence ride about it and not make anyone mad" but also like. guys. the man so OBVIOUSLY wants another season of supernatural to continue deans story. and there's been so much talk about it recently.
If he really does think Dean reciprocates, why the fuck would he spoil it at a random con?? Why would he spoil what could be a major plot point in the revival? Or make a promise about it that he may not be able to keep due to network interference? He told us that Dean KNOWS what Cas' confession was, and that his love for Dean was TEXT not subtext. He told us that CAS' feelings don't need to be resolved. Idk about you guys but this... it's not a nothing answer to me. It's carefully worded and thought out. To me, these are some pretty big pieces of what, for Jackles, a continuation of their story would look like. He's not closing the door, he's keeping it open

Aslı Aydıntaşbaş for Politico Magazine:
American democracy is about to undergo a serious stress test. I know how it feels, in part because I lived through the slow and steady march of state capture as a journalist working in Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s Turkey. Over a decade as a high-profile journalist, I covered Turkey’s descent into illiberalism, having to engage in the daily push and pull with the government. I know how self-censorship starts in small ways but then creeps into operations on a daily basis. I am familiar with the rhythms of the battle to reshape the media, state institutions and the judiciary. Having lived through it, and having gathered some lessons in hindsight, I believe that there are strategies that can help Democrats and Trump critics not only survive the coming four years, but come out stronger. Here are six of them.
1. Don’t Panic — Autocracy Takes Time
President-elect Donald Trump’s return to power is unnerving but, as I have argued previously, America will not turn into a dictatorship overnight — or in four years. Even the most determined strongmen face internal hurdles, from the bureaucracy to the media and the courts. It took Erdoğan well over a decade to fully consolidate his power. Hungary’s Viktor Orbán and Poland’s Law and Justice Party needed years to erode democratic norms and fortify their grip on state institutions.
I am not suggesting that the United States is immune to these patterns, but it’s important to remember that its decentralized system of governance — the network of state and local governments — offers enormous resilience. Federal judges serve lifetime appointments, states and governors have specific powers separate from those granted federally, there are local legislatures, and the media has the First Amendment as a shield, reinforced by over a century of legal precedents. Sure, there are dangers, including by a Supreme Court that might grant great deference to the president. But in the end, Donald Trump really only has two years to try to execute state capture. Legal battles, congressional pushback, market forces, midterm elections in 2026 and internal Republican dissent will slow him down and restrain him. The bottom line is that the U.S. is too decentralized in its governance system for a complete takeover. The Orbánization of America is not an imminent threat.
2. Don’t Disengage — Stay Connected
[...]
Nothing is more meaningful than being part of a struggle for democracy. That’s why millions of Turks turned out to the polls and gave the opposition a historic victory in local governments across Turkey earlier this year. That’s how the Poles organized a winning coalition to vote out the conservative Law and Justice Party last year. It can happen here, too. The answer to political defeat is not to disconnect, but to organize. You can take a couple of days or weeks off, commiserate with friends and mute Elon Musk on X — or erase the app altogether. But in the end, the best way to develop emotional resilience is greater engagement.
[...]
4. Charismatic Leadership Is a Non-Negotiable
One lesson from Turkey and Hungary is clear: You will lose if you don’t find a captivating leader, as was the case in 2023 general elections in Turkey and in 2022 in Hungary. Coalition-building or economic messaging is necessary and good. But it is not enough. You need charisma to mobilize social dissent. [...]
Last year’s elections in Poland and Turkey showcased how populist incumbents can be defeated (or not defeated, as in general elections in Turkey in 2023) depending on the opposition’s ability to unite around compelling candidates who resonate with voters. Voters seek authenticity and a connection — give it to them.
5. Skip the Protests and Identity Politics
Soon, Trump opponents will shake off the doldrums and start organizing an opposition campaign. But how they do it matters. For the longest time in Turkey, the opposition made the mistake of relying too much on holding street demonstrations and promoting secularism, Turkey’s version of identity politics, which speaks to the urban professional and middle class but not beyond. [...]
6. Have Hope
Nothing lasts forever and the U.S. is not the only part of the world that faces threats to democracy — and Americans are no different than the French, the Turks or Hungarians when it comes to the appeal of the far right. But in a country with a strong, decentralized system of government and with a long-standing tradition of free speech, the rule of law should be far more resilient than anywhere in the world. Trump’s return to power certainly poses challenges to U.S. democracy. But he will make mistakes and overplay his hand — at home and abroad. America will survive the next four years if Democrats pick themselves up and start learning from the successes of opponents of autocracy across the globe.
Aslı Aydıntaşbaş, who had first-hand experience with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s authoritarianism in her native Turkey as a journalist, wrote in Politico Magazine on how to effectively fight Donald Trump’s authoritarian impulses.

Monolith's Wonder Woman game has been cancelled.
I’ll tell you why this is a terrible tragedy.
It would have been an open world single-player game set on Themyscira.
It would have involved Diana returning to Paradise Island to protect her home from an attack from an army of monsters. This would have created an interesting dynamic between Diana and her sisters, as she is now assumedly a member of the Justice League and very familiar with the world of men. Perhaps they would doubt her loyalty at first after her time away from home.
You would have been able to recruit other Amazons to fight alongside you in battle, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood style. The concept art shows one of Diana’s allies using futuristic armor and weapons. It’s unclear whether or not these are other Amazons who have returned from the outside world or mortal women coming to the aid of the Amazons.
You would have fought manticores, orcs, Minotaurs, and various other creatures all being controlled by the evil goddess Circe. Concept art also shows Cheetah allying with Circe.
We would have likely learned about Circe’s history with Hippolyta and the Amazons and why she would want to destroy their paradise. After coming more into the public eye in Creature Commandos, this game could have shown the scale of threat that Circe represents as she conquers a nation of superpowered immortals.
This game would have been made by Monolith, a company I’ve loved since they made Tron 2.0 in 2004. They are most famous for making the Lord of the Rings game Shadow of Mordor and its sequel Shadow of War, which in in my top 3 games of all time. These games have beautiful open world maps that give us a bit of an idea of what Themyscira may have looked like. One of the coolest things I’ve ever done in any video game is to tame a dragon and ride it around an open world Middle-Earth.
The most unique thing about Shadow of War is the Nemesis system. Every villain you encounter is procedurally generated with unique aesthetics and abilities and immunities. Any time a villain defeats you, he gets a name, he grows more powerful, and he moves up in the ranks of the hierarchy of the enemy’s forces.
Killing enemies merely opens up their spot for another enemy to fill. But defeating them nonlethally and forcing them to pledge loyalty to you allows you to take control of all the forces under their command. The Wonder Woman game would have implemented the Nemesis system for Circe’s army.
Citadel strongholds are where the most powerful enemies fortify themselves. With the former enemy commanders and armies under your control, you lead assaults and take over these citadels, assigning one of your own commanders to be its new leader.
The combat system of Shadow of War is somewhat similar to Arkham Knight. Fast-paced and combo focused. Taming creatures also adds a fun layer to fighting large groups of enemies. It has my favorite sword combat in any video game and it would have been interesting to see how they would have incorporated the Lasso of Hestia into the gameplay.
We would have likely seen skins and customization for Diana.

Ferdinand the Minotaur could have been your first new ally to abandon Circe.

Kangas could have been a tamable creature type you could ride around the open world.

The Invisible Jet could have been used for fast travel.
We could have gotten some great exposure for some of the lesser known characters in the Wonder Woman mythos.

Rocksteady killed Wonder Woman unceremoniously in their suicide squad game. (And then said every other character who died was just a clone.) The failure of that game and the $200 million profit loss that it caused is the primary reason why Warner Brothers decided to kill Monolith Productions, a company that has been producing games since 1997.
Meanwhile, Rocksteady gets to make a Batman Beyond game.
This is one of the most regrettable missteps in gaming history.

"I love you."
He had heard those words countless times before, both in life and in Hell. They always felt hollow, like faint echoes fading into the vast emptiness of his heart. They stirred nothing in him, only a slight annoyance. Love was a strange concept, distant and incomprehensible, never something he had the desire to explore. It wasn’t meant for him. In life, he had seen how love weakened men, made them foolish and dependent. In Hell, it was no different—just an illusion that led others to ruin, betrayal, and despair. He, on the other hand, had always stood on the sidelines, watching with a mix of amusement and disdain as souls fell prey to that emotion.
He had never felt the need to return those words. Why would he? Love was a slow poison, corroding from within, and he had neither the time nor the interest in experiencing such a fragile state. Watching others crumble under its weight was enough for him. He, always the calculated, always the distant, stayed in control.
But with you… it wasn’t that simple.
At first, he brushed it off. Not because he didn’t feel something, but because he wasn’t willing to acknowledge it. That unsettling knot tightening inside him whenever he saw you confused him in ways he hadn’t experienced in decades—perhaps ever. Curiosity? No, it was more than that. It was an intrusion into his mind, a weight he carried with him, refusing to let go. From the shadows, he watched you like a predator, calculated and cautious, trying to understand what it was about you that pulled him in. You moved through life, innocent, carefree, unaware of the eyes following you with an intensity even he couldn’t quite grasp.
Ninety-one years. He had spent so long in Hell, playing his part, pulling strings as others danced to his tune. He manipulated, controlled, always keeping a safe distance, emotionally fortified against everything. No one had ever touched him. No one had made him question himself. Until now.
He watched you with a tight smile, that carefully crafted mask of politeness he used to hide what he truly felt. But inside, there was a storm. What had begun as passing interest had grown into something far more complicated, something deeper, something terrifying. You had done what no one in ninety-one years had managed—you had pierced the armor that kept him immune. And he… didn’t know how to handle it.
He had tried. He tried with all his might to bury that feeling deep within him, down in that dark abyss where he stashed everything he refused to face. But you had seeped into every corner of his mind, filling the empty spaces, making indifference impossible. You had become his obsession, his weakness, and admitting that made him furious. He had never allowed himself to feel something so… human. And now, here he was, standing before you, feeling a whirlwind of emotions he couldn’t control.
Those words, the ones he had heard from desperate, trembling lips so many times before, now burned inside him. "I love you." He had heard them before, hundreds, maybe thousands of times. He had always ignored them or mocked them. But now, those very words were tearing him apart.
"I love you."
His voice was barely a whisper, but it echoed in his chest like a haunting refrain. The phrase slipped from his lips without his consent, as though they had been waiting for years to be spoken. And though he maintained his usual smile, that polished mask of elegance and charm, something in his eyes betrayed the truth—the turmoil raging inside him. Vulnerability. Pain. Fear. And worst of all… need.
In that moment, he looked at you with a gaze so intense it was almost unbearable, as if by staring he could somehow make sense of everything he was feeling. But there was no logic to it. His entire existence, both on Earth and in Hell, had been a dance of control, where every move was calculated with precision. Now, he stood on the edge of a precipice, and the thought of falling terrified him.
He was afraid. Not of love itself, but of what it meant. Of the vulnerability it forced upon him. For years, he had remained detached, viewing love as a weakness, something others suffered from, never him. He was the manipulator, the one who controlled the emotions of others. But now, he found himself ensnared in his own web, exposed in a way he had never been before.
He didn’t know what to expect from you. He didn’t know if those words would change anything, if you would understand them as he now did. But one thing was certain, with a clarity so sharp it nearly tore him apart—you had become his only constant. And that thought, that terrifying, overwhelming thought, was shattering him.
Ninety-one years in Hell, and only now, looking at you, feeling you so close and yet so far, did he understand what love meant. For the first time, he had found something that could truly destroy him.
And that… terrified him more than eternity itself.

LADS x Zombie Apocalypse
Amalgamation of zombie apocalypse tropes, archetypes, and cliches off the top of my head that I feel would suit the LIs bc I’m bored:
Trusted Settlement founder and leader: Xavier, Sylus, Caleb
Character who knew the collapse of civilization was imminent and had a bug-out bag packed from the start (yall thought they were NUTS well, look at them NOW!) : Caleb
Character that took advantage of the chaos at the start of the apocalypse for their own benefit: Sylus
Character that does fine on their own, probably has a pet dog or cat (or crow, or fish, or squirrel) to keep them company. Creature may or may not be their biggest motivation for breathing. Would most likely crash-out if it died: ALL
Character who’s immune to the virus and won’t ever turn. Keeps forgetting this doesn’t exactly mean they’re invincible: Caleb
Character that absolutely is not immune to the virus but the way they leap into danger makes one think THEY believe they are: Xavier, Sylus
Character trying to create or look for a vaccine for the virus: Zayne, Xavier
Character that realizes ‘Humans are the real monsters’ only after beating a man to death to protect themself or you. WILL have some level of PTSD: Zayne
Character that had already been familiar with the cruelty of man and WILL sleep like a baby after bludgeoning a man to death if it was deserved: Sylus, Caleb, Xavier, Rafayel
The Resourceful Scavenger: Rafayel (would make insanely creative booby traps out of anything. For Zombies. And for People.), Caleb (probably would be really good at finding and stripping parts off of cars, helicopters, etc and using them to reinforce his stronghold)
“Holy shit, these people are cannibals?! I need to get the HELL out of here!”: Xavier, Zayne, Caleb
Character that seemed infallible and invincible dies not by a vicious zombie hoard or savage bandits, but by a high fever from an infected wound, or like, hypothermia: Caleb, Sylus, Xavier
Where I think their strongholds would be:
Sylus: Abandoned prison. All the surviving prisoners that didn’t have the good sense to leave are now his underlinings. They would kill and die for him now though. Runs the place like the goddamned marines. Does calculated raids on other settlements just to pressure them into giving monthly offerings of resources in exchange for his protection.
Zayne: Abandoned hospital. Back when it was still active, he stayed behind with a group of doctors and nurses to take care of those who couldn’t evacuate. He has witnessed more people succumbing to their own illnesses and injuries due to lack of proper medical care than actual zombie bites. Definitely had to bury or cremate his colleagues. Now spends most of his time in a lab scouring over documents, studies, and notes trying to figure out where it all went wrong.
Caleb: Abandoned military base. It’s already quite fortified, and the access to weapons, ammunition, gear, rations, etc makes survival way easier. It took FOREVER to clear the zombies out but it was worth it in the end. Survivors that stumble upon his stronghold usually end up settling down because of how well put together his stronghold is. He definitely had the ‘leader’ role thrusted upon him. People seem naturally inclined to trust him and follow his lead. He tried to deny it at first, but eventually accepted since the position makes it easier to protect a certain someone.
Xavier: Abandoned farm. It was INCREDIBLY difficult to fortify a large plot of open land, but he pulled it off. With animals seemingly having a natural affinity towards him, and his green thumb, rebuilding was smoother than one would think. The people in his settlement are quite peaceful, spending their days tending to the land and livestock, some often forget there are monsters beyond the walls that protect them.
Rafayel: He would fortify a storefront of abandoned mall. It would still be riddled with zombies, but he’s learned to adapt to their movements and can avoid them for the most part. When he’s bored, he acts like they’re his neighbors with names and everything. He morbidly enjoys watching other scavengers accidentally attract the attention of a zombie hoard from raiding one of his many resource stashes. Serves them right!
If Bitten (No immunity)
Would ask you to mercy kill them before they turn: Rafayel, Sylus
Would keep quiet about the bite so he can ‘handle it’ on his own. You WILL find out anyway, and will refuse to leave him alone in his final moments: Zayne, Caleb, Xavier
Honestly this part is debatable because I can imagine all of them doing either of these.
But yea that’s all i got

Since it's canon that he can jump into technology ala SSSS/Gridman, Danny takes advantage of that ability to do his homework at superspeed. And destroy viruses as part of a money making scheme
Please forgive me as I steer this towards a more selfish Danny but imagine if after a while Danny starts making viruses himself in order to destroy them. Given his secret leg up, he far outpaced his competitors in terms of speed, efficiency, and most importantly, price. The problem was Danny was a little too good at this side job of his. Not only did he get rid of viruses but he also fortified the systems he was hired to fix, creating a bunch of systems now immune to any malware on the block..... And subsequently putting Danny out of a job. So being the dumb teen that he is he comes up with a plan.
Danny partners up with a semi reformed Technus to create mutated malware that would only be able to be defeated by physically fighting them within the program (ie something only Danny was capable of). But in typical Saturday cartoon hijinks, these new viruses and the like mutate out of control and start doing a lot of actual damage. Considering there's just one Danny and a lot of malware running rampant, he has no choice but to get help.
Coincidentally, Oracle had been tracking this weird surge in new mutant malware for a while now. She was working on figuring out their source when a digital teen shows up on her computer screen asking for help. One explanation later and Oracle is PISSED to say the least but she agrees to help. She also calls up some other tech savvy heroes to come help too. All of which Danny pulls into the system via their screen.
A tongue lashing the likes of which would even put Jazz to shame awaits Danny when all of this is over but for now, he gets to fight within a virtual landscape alongside some of his idols. Which is a definite win in his book.

A Hearty Care

Felix Lee woke up to a gloomy morning, the clouds heavy with impending rain, but the weather was the last thing on his mind. He had received a call from Y/N the night before, her voice hoarse and strained, explaining she had come down with a fever. The sound of her discomfort tugged at his heartstrings, making it impossible for him to focus on anything else. As he got out of bed, clad in comfortable sweats, he contemplated the long day ahead. He felt a warmth in his chest at the thought of being there for her, nurturing her back to health. Quickly, he threw on a comfortable outfit, grabbed a cozy oversized hoodie, and gathered a few essentials: traditional Korean remedies, a warm blanket, and his favorite movies. As he rushed out the door, he mentally prepared himself for whatever the day might bring, hoping to impart a sense of comfort and love to the girl who meant so much to him.
Upon arriving at her home, Felix was greeted by an unsettling quiet that almost felt oppressive. He tiptoed through the house, the wooden floors creaking slightly beneath his feet as if mirroring his anxious thoughts. Each step felt heavy with anticipation as he approached her bedroom, where faint groans and sounds of discomfort filtered through the door. Panic rushed through him; he pushed the door open to find Y/N curled up in her bed, her pale skin glistening with sweat. She was clutching her belly, the discomfort evident in her facial expression, and seeing her like that made Felix's heart race. “Y/N!” he called softly, rushing to her side. She barely managed to turn her head, her cheeks flushed and eyes glazed with fever, struggling to maintain a semblance of composure. He felt her forehead, and it was scorching hot—warmer than he had ever felt anyone's skin. He instantly knew she was battling a nasty virus, and the worry etched into his features deepened as he contemplated how best to help her.
Without a moment’s hesitation, he settled beside her, gently moving the damp hair away from her face. “I’m here, Y/N. I’m going to take care of you,” he reassured her, his voice low and calm, radiating a warmth that contrasted with the chilly grip of illness. He carefully helped her to an upright position, checking her temperature with a quick sweep of his hand at her forehead, confirming it was alarmingly high. Sweat dripped from her brow as she shivered intermittently despite the warmth of her blankets. His heart ached at the sight of her like this, and he quickly decided that immediate action was necessary. It would help to cool her down and hydrate her, so after rifling through her cupboards, he settled on preparing a traditional Korean soup—Samgyetang, rich with tender chicken and ginseng—infused with flavors that would nourish her and hopefully fortify her immune system. As he moved to the kitchen, he kept glancing back at her, ensuring she was okay, and heard her shuffle softly in bed, a reminder that she was still hurting and needed his unwavering support.
While waiting for the soup to simmer, he returned to the sofa and settled the warmest blanket around her, pulling her close and pressing a gentle kiss on her forehead. “Y/N, you’re going to be okay. Just let me take care of you,” he said, his voice low and soothing. She blinked slowly at him, a faint smile flickering on her lips despite the palpable discomfort, appreciating not only his presence but also the unwavering affection radiating from him. As the delicious aroma of the soup filled the air, he gently picked her up, cradling her like a fragile treasure as if she were the most precious thing in the world. Y/N nestled against him, appreciating the warmth he radiated as he transported her to the sofa beside the cozy fireplace. He threw another blanket around the two of them, ensuring she was cocooned in warmth, and as he settled beside her, he could finally feel a sense of purpose creeping in amidst the worry.
Once they were comfortably nestled under layers of blankets, he pressed a warm bowl of soup to her lips, urging her to sip slowly. “You really need to eat, Y/N. It will help you feel better,” he insisted with a hint of urgency. She hesitated, the thought of food feeling daunting when everything around her seemed heavy and lethargic. But his unwavering gaze and the kindness in his eyes made her relent, and she managed a few spoonfuls. However, just as hope began to rise, a wave of nausea immediately overwhelmed her. Before she knew it, her frail stomach betrayed her, and she leaned forward to rush to the bathroom, accidentally missing the toilet bowl as the contents of her stomach splattered onto herself and the floor. Horror crossed her features as mortification engulfed her. She looked at Felix wide-eyed, embarrassment washing over her as she tried to cover her mouth, but the effort was futile. Felix didn't flinch at the sight; instead, his expression softened with empathy. With a calm yet determined demeanor, he quickly sprang into action, helping her to the bathroom while murmuring soothing words meant to ease her embarrassment. “It’s alright, Y/N. We can clean this up. Just breathe,” he assured her as he carefully steadied her. He helped her wash up, using warm water on her hands as they quickly tidied the mess. Felix’s heart ached not just for the situation but for her, knowing how uncomfortable and vulnerable she must feel at that moment. After getting her settled and feeling a little more comfortable, he decided it was time for a thorough wash.
Gently guiding her back to the shower, Felix took charge. “Let’s get you cleaned up properly,” he said, his voice tender but authoritative as he helped her step into the warm water. “Just lean on me; I won’t let you fall.” With each passing moment, her vulnerability made Felix more resolute in his care. He held her hair back from her face with one hand while using the other to skillfully wash her hair, repeating kind reassurances that everything would be okay. The steam surrounded them, creating a comforting cocoon as Y/N leaned against him. The gentle tugging at her hair felt soothing, almost like a calming lullaby that made the world outside fade away. “You know, you look beautiful even when you’re feeling sick,” he whispered, his warm breath tickling her ear. She couldn’t help but chuckle softly, albeit weakly, the sound a refreshing break from the heaviness in the air.
As he turned off the water and carefully dried her off, Felix noticed the way her body felt frail against him, her skin still slightly damp. He wrapped a fluffy towel around her, taking extra care not to let it drag or cause any discomfort. Once she was a little more presentable, he whisked her back into the living room, cradling her in his arms as though she weighed nothing. She felt a mix of embarrassment and gratitude, knowing he was risking his own health for the sake of her comfort. As they settled back onto the couch, the plush cushions enveloped them in softness, and Felix pulled her into a snug embrace beneath the blanket. “You don’t have to worry about me. I’ll take care of you, I promise,” he murmured as he adjusted the blanket to shield her from any chill, leaning in to press soft kisses against her forehead, each one infused with warmth and reassurance.
With her head resting against his shoulder, Y/N felt utterly spoiled and cherished, the warmth of his presence lending her strength despite the fatigue weighing her down. Felix flicked through a selection of movies, searching for something light and humorous that could lift her spirits, settling on a light romantic comedy. As the movie began to play, Felix couldn’t help but steal glances at her, each one accompanied by a soft smile as he admired her resilience even in sickness. He could see the flickers of her personality shining through the haze of fever; her playful quips would occasionally slip out, making him laugh more than he intended. The sound of laughter from the film blended seamlessly with his soft chuckles, drowning out the pesky clouds of worry that had loomed earlier in the day.
As the plot unfolded on screen, he gently lifted the bowl of soup once more, still warm from the stove, attempting to coax her into taking another sip. “Come on, Y/N. Just a few more spoonfuls. I promise, it’ll help.” He held the bowl steady, watching her weary yet determined expression as she reluctantly complied. Each bite seemed to bolster both her strength and her spirit, a small victory amidst the feeling of helplessness. He wiped the corners of her mouth with a gentle touch, and she rolled her eyes at how nurturing he was being, but deep down, she felt grateful for every bit of it. Each gesture seemed to create a bubble of intimacy between them, and Felix realized that these moments—caring for her, watching over her, and nurturing her back to health—were perhaps more precious than any spotlight or stage he could ever stand upon.
As the movie played on, the storyline of love and connection mirrored their own situation in a way, wrapping them in a comforting ambiance. Felix’s fingers found their way to her hand, their fingers intertwining effortlessly, and he could feel her pulse under his fingertips, steadying yet fragile. Every forehead kiss, every gentle squeeze of her hand, was laced with unspoken words that only they understood, a promise to always be there for one another, through sickness and in health. Y/N did her best to focus on the screen, the humor attempting to lift her spirits, but it was hard to concentrate when Felix was there beside her, emanating warmth that made her feel enveloped in safety. Moments stretched into eternity as they shared laughter, quiet conversations, and tender moments of silence, the rhythmic sound of the movie acting as a soothing lullaby that coaxed her eyelids to droop. As Y/N nestled comfortably against him, her body finally succumbed to the exhaustion that had clung to her for days. Felix noticed the softness of her breathing shift, becoming deeper and more even. He looked down to see her head gently resting on his lap, her soft features relaxed in a serene expression as the warmth of the blanket enveloped her. In that moment, he felt a swell of affection wash over him, a mixture of protectiveness and adoration. It was in this vulnerable state that he saw her true beauty shining through, and he couldn’t help but smile.
He knew she needed this rest, so he carefully adjusted himself, making sure she was comfortable without waking her. As her breathing settled into a peaceful rhythm, he threaded his fingers through her hair, letting the strands slip through his fingers like silk. The world outside seemed to drift away, the rain starting to patter softly against the window, creating a comforting backdrop to the sanctuary they had built together. Felix watched her sleep, marveling at how serene she looked, and a wave of warmth filled his heart as he thought about how doing something as simple as caring for her made his heart soar with happiness.
As the movie continued to play softly in the background, he leaned down and brushed a few strands of hair away from her face, pressing a tender kiss to her forehead. “Sweet dreams, Y/N,” he whispered softly, losing himself for a moment in the depths of their connection. He thought about how much he cared for her, the way he could easily see a future filled with laughter, support, and love. The moment he shared with her now, though simple, felt monumental—a treasured space carved out of life and illness that allowed him to show her just how much she meant to him.
Eventually, the comforting silence enveloped them, punctuated only by the light sound of the movie's dialogue and her soft breaths. As if sensing his gaze, Y/N stirred slightly and cracked her eyes open, a sleepy smile breaking across her lips as she focused on him. “Felix?” Her voice was a soft croak, but her eyes sparkled with affection as they locked onto his. “I didn’t mean to fall asleep on you,” she murmured, half-embarrassed, but there was warmth in her tone that made him chuckle.
“You needed the rest,” he said softly, moving aside a bit to give her room to sit up. “Besides, I’d gladly be your pillow any day.” Her cheeks flushed slightly, and she looked down for a moment, a shy smile creeping onto her face. Felix’s heart swelled as he watched her fumble with her blanket, trying to shake off the remnants of sleep, the way she brushed her hair back behind her ear reminiscent of a scene straight out of a romance movie.
“Thank you for taking care of me,” Y/N said, her voice a little steadier now. “You really didn’t have to, you know. It must have been inconvenient.”
“I wouldn’t have it any other way,” he replied earnestly, leaning closer to her. “It makes me happy to take care of you, especially when you’re not feeling your best. I’d do it a thousand times over if I have to.”
In that moment, Y/N saw the sincerity in his eyes, the warmth that made her heart flutter. Felix lifted a hand to her cheek, brushing his thumb gently against her soft skin. “You mean the world to me,” he confessed, the words spilling from his lips as if he had been holding them in for far too long. “And I’ll always be here for you, no matter what—whether it’s days like this when you’re sick or moments filled with laughter and joy.”
Y/N's heart raced as she felt the weight of his words sink in, each syllable laced with an undeniable essence of love. In a moment that felt both fragile and profound, she leaned into his touch, giving him a warm smile that spoke volumes even without words. As the tension of the day melted away, they drew closer, and without hesitating, their lips met—a soft, lingering kiss that held a promise of care and affection, sealing the bond that had formed through shared trials and tender moments.
As they pulled apart from their kiss, Y/N felt an overwhelming rush of emotion wash over her, a swell of gratitude and love that seemed to fill every corner of her heart. Tears brimmed in her eyes, spilling over and cascading down her cheeks as she looked at Felix, who was still gazing back at her with a mixture of joy and concern. She had never felt so cared for, so seen, and the weight of it all surged within her, prompting the tears to flow freely.
“Felix, I…” she began, her voice choked with emotion. It was as if every sweet moment they had shared in that space ignited her feelings to the surface. She was overwhelmed by the depth of her affection, the realization of all the little things he did for her—like taking a day off to care for her, preparing food, and offering unwavering support. It was all too much; she felt vulnerable yet cherished, and it caused her heart to swell, bursting at the seams.
Without hesitating, Felix reached up and gently brushed the tears away from her cheeks with his thumb, a loving smile spreading across his face as if to let her know that it was perfectly okay to feel this way. His touch sent a shiver down her spine, igniting warmth that contrasted the cold isolation of her earlier illness. “Hey, it’s okay,” he said softly, his voice wrapped in tenderness. “You don’t have to hold it all in. I’m here for you.”
With a huge grin lighting up his face, he leaned in closer, wrapping her tightly in his arms, pulling her against his chest in a loving embrace. Y/N melted into his warmth, finding solace in the strength of his hold, as if the entirety of her being was well taken care of in that moment. The tears continued to flow, but the joy and safety she felt within his embrace quieted her fears, reminding her that she was exactly where she was meant to be.
Felix held her, rocking her gently as he whispered sweet reassurances, and Y/N felt a sense of tranquility wash over her, a beautiful blend of love and vulnerability. She curled closer, seeking out more of his warmth as they settled back into their cozy cocoon, two hearts intertwined under the blanket of love. The world outside faded completely, leaving only the two of them wrapped in each other’s arms, sharing the kind of affection that lit up the depths of their souls.
And in that stillness, as the rain continued to dance against the window, Y/N knew that she had found something special—something profound and everlasting in Felix’s care and devotion. With a heart full of gratitude, she nestled into him, feeling a warmth that whispered promises of love, laughter, and countless adventures yet to come, fully aware that together they could weather any storm life had to offer.

Here's a headcanon for ya! Do you think West get sick?
Honestly, it depends! It all comes down to whether he has Re-Agent in his system or not.
With the introduction of Re-Agent into his system, Herbert can go long periods without sleeping or eating and has accelerated healing accompanied by a fortified immune system and heightened senses. Overall, thanks to the Re-Agent, he's able to scrape by such vicious circumstances, such as the Miskatonic Massacre, with his life intact and a couple of minor scrapes and fractures.
However, after Dan helps ween Herbert off, that's whenever his immune system takes a nose dive. The most common ailments, such as the cold or the flu, hit Herbert like a freight train, leaving him bedridden for days. During these times, he's perhaps the whiniest and clingiest he's ever been; he can't even muster up the energy for a single sly retort to part his lips.
Additionally, during this time, the two end up miraculously bonding.
It doesn't start that way, though—Herbert's overwhelming hubris leads him to refuse Dan's assistance, while Dan grows fed up with Herbert's bullshit. However, as time passes, tensions ease, and the two grow tired of one another. It's during this moment of weariness that Herbert allows tidbits of his past to escape his lips—overall, too weary to keep his skeletons in order.
And what’s Dan’s response, you ask, to his roommate opening himself up like a belly-up frog ready for dissection in a middle school science class? Well, Dan’s there to provide the overdue support Herbert desperately needed…
#An Additional headcanon that Herbert's sickwear is just a star trek graphic tee and some sweats or pajama bottoms#reanimator 1985#re animator#danbert#herbert west#daniel cain#headcanon#sickfic#re-animator#bride of reanimator 1991#ask

For ppl who want to know how the egg carton is coming along
still under construction, however the island needed something in place now so q!Bad made the mini “egg basket” under spawn. empanada, sunny, ramon, richas, and pomme have all put their pearls there.
it’s a “one click teleports all” system meant to get eggs out of danger, so they can then warp to their safe rooms at home. not meant to be perfect, only temporary, but is immune to most things like the iconic symmetry wand elevator trick! there’s been a sense of relief to have something secure :D
Bad used securitycraft block pockets as a cool feature of the basket’s design, making a small emergency chamber where eggs can pass through to survive damage and escape. he’s been running several more tests since, and got a genius idea which would make the carton & eggs completely invincible. like it’s apparently so overpowered it’d neutralize everything. the plot itself too 💀
his biggest concern though is the minute he makes a move like That, the retaliation response would ofc need to scale with it (as it has done already) and become absolutely bonkers also. he’s worried if something crazy happens they aren’t prepared for, like straight up disabling certain items or throwing them into the middle of a minefield
yeah so Bad *probably* won’t do that idea, but he is making progress!
The egg carton is one central lobby with a much bigger all-tp system branching off into one pod for each egg. he’s continuing to add tricky stuff & some pocket blocks into parts of the design. it’s insane so far, immune to all the important stuff like a whole fortified vault bunker
general destruction
chorus fruit
bicycle glitch
symmetry wand elevator
pearl water stream tampering
islander sabotage
eggs downed and non-parents can’t reach them
at the same time he’s been kitting out the kids, sunny now has an exp tank backpack & empanada has upgraded armor and tools. pomme and him are working on more sets offstream
all in all, egg protection is going well :3
#kinda surprised how much I’m enjoying listening to these late night technical building streams lol#I know it’s a lot for ppl to keep up with sometimes so wanted to write up a little explanation here#qsmp badboyhalo#qsmp#qsmp summary#qsmp eggs
