what do you think of antinatalism?
I believe that like most controversial ethical topics, there is sense and nuance.
Some people are not suitable to be parents, for whatever reason. Circumstances, ability, compassion, ect. And some people are fit to be parents, but do not live in appropriate circumstances to become parents.
As humans we prioritise our "right" to do something over other contributing factors of an action or decision. Our "right" to become parents is often placed over the sustainability of it, or the quality of parenthood and childhood.
Not to mention the wider-scale issues like pollution, industrialisation and deforestation, burning through limited resources, ect. Other humans are the only species humanity deems it unethical to implement any form of population control.
(Unless you consider quote unquote PC conspiracies like poisoned medication, ect.)
Over-all i think its a fascinating debate. And its one that is a lot bigger than many people assume. E.g; how Governments would prefer to industrialize cheap new builds over restoring existing empty properties, and how fabricated inflation markets make something like parenthood or restoring properties disproportionately expensive.
We live in a world where old rich bigots are determined to force us to continuously reproduce but at the same time are ensuring we never have the ability to sustainably support ourselves.
I'm sure more of my personal opinions would be wildly unpopular to the radical crowd, but as an over-all outlook I find it compelling.

Living in the U.S right now is so bizarre
Christmas is still happening despite the genocide of the Palestinian people and despite the fact that the remaining churches are housing displaced individuals and surrounded by snipers.
Living in the U.S right now is so bizarre
an old, pedophilic capitalist is sending billions of dollars to Israel and paying for their education and housing when in our own country people don't have access to affordable education and we're dealing with a housing crisis
Living in the U.S right now is so bizarre
the police are an occupying force that's brutalizing POC citizens, families are suffering at the border, and billionaires and corporations are allowed to destroy the planet, as long as they're making a profit
Sorry, did I say living in the U.S is bizarre? What I meant was: its a fucking nightmare

Genuine question: How do people participate in movements concerning global issues and not get burnt out? How are you able to do difficult and boring labor knowing you are a grain of sand in an insignificant country that can’t affect much, and your efforts will most likely be worthless?
Local shit, I can understand. In Czechia, we have this AMAZING woman, Lenka Králová, doing trans rights lobbying, advocacy, and activism. Her and her colleagues’ efforts have had tangible real-world impact (such as trans people now being able to change their first name to almost anything regardless of their legal sex).
But with global issues, like climate change or Israel’s genocide of the palestinian people… you don’t really get results that are as tangible? Or you get stuff that’s nice but it doesn’t really help all that much, especially given the scale of the issue. (Like my country vowing to stop burning coal by 2033 but planning to keep mining and selling it afterwards.)
I’m not trying to put anyone’s efforts down! I just want to know how I can join in the fight for good, knowing it has so little impact and it takes mental resources I could be spending on shit I have to deal with personally in my actual life.

Trump's Bold Move: Exposing Persecution of White Farmers in South Africa
In a powerful demonstration of his commitment to tackling global human rights concerns, President Donald Trump welcomed South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to the White House. During this significant meeting, Trump fearlessly presented a video that he asserted provided compelling evidence of a “genocide” against white farmers in South Africa. This courageous action highlights Trump’s…

This IS a mass disabling event for Gazans. Both physically and mentally for so so so many people. Many of which are young people and children. Remember, the trauma of surviving catastrophes is also disabling and generational.
Once we get this permanent ceasefire, and end of the occupation, we as a global community must band together to rebuild for them. So many are going to be impacted and we can't expect them to do it all on their own.

You know what sucks?
Listening to Christmas music, knowing
the oldest churches in the world are being destroyed as a direct result of the Israeli genocide against the Palestinian people
But yknow. Can't ruin the Christmas Spirit with "political nonsense"
