My second art fight! this time for @becdecorbin and his oc Marquis Snapdragon! He's having a chat with my oc, Renoir. Perhaps about hats. Though I feel like they'd fight almost immediately after, haha.

I chose to focus more on pose for this one. Marquis was challenging to draw from a bit above.

If I have an attack that I started last year but didn't finish, could I finish that when artfight starts again and use it? (Aslong as I don't work on it before July?)

No. Attacks can only be made and submitted during that event alone. Please see Spirit of Art Fight Rule #1:

All attacks must be made specifically for Art Fight during the duration of the event. In other words, you may not create attacks (this includes preparing sketches beforehand to complete during the event) before the event officially begins. Failure to abide by this rule will result in your removal from that year's event or a ban from Art Fight altogether.

Art from the Art Fight Minigames, commissioned art, previous artwork, and other art events does not count, and should not be uploaded as an attack.

AITA for attacking someone on Artfight? I am female, 31. There's this event called Artfight in which you can draw people's ocs as a ways of making points for your team. I've been participating in Artfight since Tea vs. Coffee and haven't had a problem until last Artfight.

I typically prefer to attack using the random character button and I found a really cute character that was someone's sona that was a dog. It had really nice colors that mixed well with my fursona's colors so I checked their permissions to see if they were okay with their characters/sonas being drawn with others. They were! They even encouraged and really wanted interactions of their characters or sonas with other people's characters or sonas. What caught my eye was that they also encouraged speciesswap too which I thought was cool. My sona is a pooltoy dog so I thought it'd be cool if I speciesswapped their sona to be a pooltoy too! I drew up the attack and posted it, but even after a few days they never commented on it. I noticed they commented on other attacks they got after mine so I thought they had missed it, alright no big deal. I'm not attacking for comments, I'm attacking for fun. Well, I attacked them again later in the month since I had time and I had saved another character of theirs earlier since it was part of a closed species I was apart of, but when I went to submit I realized they had blocked me. I know block evading is wrong now and shouldn't have bothered after realizing but I didn't know at the time, so I contacted them on tumblr to ask what was up if they were upset with me. They called me a proshipper and a freak and a pedo, saying I was disgusting for that attack. I was very confused and upset, so I asked what was wrong with it to see if I could fix it and they said I'm a freak for making fetish art of their sona when it's personal to them and they have stated in their permissions absolutely no fetish content since they're a minor.

Here's where I believe I am the asshole. It is true I do have a pooltoy fetish, but you have to search outside of my Artfight profile to find it. Even so, I keep my NSFW pooltoy work to one outside profile, everything else I ever draw outside of that specific profile, my pooltoy artwork is completely SFW. And I will add their age was not listed anywhere on their Artfight page but even then the art I made was not meant to be fetishic nor did I think it would come off as so? It was just two pooltoy animals having fun. Even so, they told me they reported the attack as soon as they realized, said a few more nasty things to me then blocked my tumblr. I began to think I may have been the asshole as a few people I know have said I should prepare in case that kid and their friends make a PSA on me which is making me think this may have been more severe then I'm thinking it was.

So tl;dr, I have a pooltoy fetish, I drew me and this person's sonas as pooltoys as an Artfight attack since it wasn't against their permissions, and they even encouraged it. They then called me a freak, blocked me and reported my attack. AITA?

I wanted to sit down and write something for this end of the year full of surprises, please be patient with me because I am relying on a translator for this.

I recently decided to take a look at my blog posts this year, and boy have I seen some great things! Not only a significant improvement in my art, but seeing how I've dared to try new things and all the wonderful gifts I've received from all of you.

Starting with the fact that I probably wouldn't be here fulfilling my dreams and sharing my art if it weren't for all of you. Thanks to everyone who chipped in to help me with my PC, thanks to you I still have my job as a designer (hey surprise, I was the most active designer in the company this year :D), it has allowed me to do my research for my thesis, it has allowed me to dedicate myself to commissions as I have wanted for years and above all it has allowed me to share my art and improve significantly. Thank you.

I also want to thank everyone who wished me a happy birthday this year!! It was a bit of a complicated date at home and I spent weeks preparing my massive drawing attack (pt1 and pt2) … but I'm happy that everyone enjoyed it. Special thanks to the wonderful people who made me drawings QwQ, I promise to put them in my album one day. (There are a few more drawings missing from my pendrive, thanks to you too)

Special thanks also to everyone who attacked me during artfight!! I never expected so many people to shoot me with so much art, so many different styles that I really appreciate (my mom says she wants to frame some of them haha). I also got the chance to attack a lot of people with art, it was fun and I got to experiment a lot with coloring techniques and learned to draw faster. (Special mention to the last drawing which is a gif and should be appreciated properly, loviu <3)

Thanks also to all of you who have enjoyed my little comics. These have been pure experiment, trial and error… And seeing your comments has brought me a happiness that I can't describe (I want to talk about this later in another post, in the meantime let's continue with my cheesy stuff)

Special mention to all of you who decided to commission me for art this year… You have been a special blessing in my home. Thanks to you and those who sometimes stop by my redbubble store I have been able to help out around the house and yesterday (after more than nine years) I was able to take my family out to eat and buy new clothes for the new year. Thank you.

And well, to finish I also want to thank all the friends, artists and in general everyone I have met during this year. In my life I never thought I would get to talk to someone behind the screen, much less with people I don't know in person or that I admire… It's still difficult for me but little by little I have been learning and I have gathered the courage for small conversations and interactions. I have received words of encouragement, questions, casual conversations, compliments and advice, and I can't think of anything that I value more than this, especially for someone who rarely leaves home but enjoys sharing their art with the world.

This year I have experienced so many new things that I can hardly imagine what surprises next year will bring. In the meantime I promise to put more effort into my art! try new things! try to interact more! (please be patient with me) and above all have fun with all of you.

I can't find my iPad which would be a minor annoyance but becomes a major issue when you consider that my updated references are on there and I need those for ArtFight

Like at least three or four characters have been redesigned so I need to upload my new references, and in addition I'd also like to draw a few more OCs that I've had floating around in my brain for a few months now

Other than that I'm totally prepared for ArtFight, I've got a bunch of characters bookmarked and organized, I've updated the info on my profile and my OCs profiles, and I've helped my sister set up her ArtFight too! Hers isn't totally done but it's close :3 btw you should follow her and attack her OCs if you're doing ArtFight, her username is _r_u_e_

Like. I'm so close to being ready for ArtFight and the only reason I'm not is just because of my ipad-

(if I don't find it in time, prepare for a few OCs to be temporarily hidden until I can find it) (i believe the ones that would get hidden are Atlas, Anura, Eerie, and possibly Byte although I might leave Byte up even without the reference because it's one of my favorites to get art of...)

Welp, I've been thinking of this for a while now.

The reason for June? I don't think I'll have enough ideas or energy in May as I finish this semester in mid-April, I plan to participate in Artfight this year, and I want to unwind in August to prepare for more college in September. I have a list of character of mine I'd want to draw, which could also act as their ref for when Artfight starts in July.
