How are Vil's fans (and Leona's fans, as I'm sure he have some) with the n2 team? Have they had a big reaction to the fact that it's a polyamorous relationship? How does Jamil deal with this attention?
Do the Asims know about their relationship? I mean, I think Vil as a public figure and Leona as a prince would draw attention. And how does Jamil's family react? I think they want Jamil to be happy, but they're afraid of what the Asims might do. And I think they expected Jamil to end up with a servant (I'm using the reasoning that Viper is Jamil's father's last name, but his mother also seems to be very used to being a servant, so she must be from a servant family of the Asims, less important than the Vipers) or at least a commoner and lower class person than Jamil's current boyfriends.
For now I'll only answer for Vil's fans. The Asim and the Viper reactions will be coming sometime soon.

Vil dropped the news little by little. Leona and Jamil in the background of more relax pics, a couple dance sessions with Jamil, inconspicuous things. Just to get his fans used to their sight.
The he dropped hints, bigger and bigger, until the reveal. Aside from the few fans who are far too into parasocial relationships and are salty about Vil dating coz that means they have no chance anymore (not that they had any), it went relatively fine. They took one look at Leona and went "Yup, our Queen deserves a prince, good for him good for him."
The thing that surprised Vil though is that his fans latched onto Jamil more than Leona. After all as you said Leona is a public figure. They know him. Jamil though doesn't even post pics of himself on Magicam. He's a total mystery. They know he's a dancer so they try to check music videos (useless), they try finding his magicam (they don't), and eventually someone finds out those two pics taken at the Tapis Rouge event (which doesn't help much coz they still don't know who he is lol)
The mystery actually helps fans ease into it. They're just so obsessed with finding who Jamil is that they forget to (maybe) be upset about their Queen's love life.

As for Jamil... he just doesn't deal with the attention. He's not much on socials so he doesn't care, and despite being eye candy he isn't all that charismatic so people don't pay much attention to him. He got cornered by a few hardcore fans who miraculously managed to recognise him and he just plastered his best customer service smile until they left him alone. He's dealt with worse than pushy fans before. He might not be used to being the center of attention, he's still good at dealing with stressful situations.
#i used a template for the magicam stuff#but i can't remember where i got it from coz I downloaded it without noting the source...#if someone knows please tell me#also the @ are legit tumblr @s that I tweaked#coz i couldn't be bothered to imagine some#Jamil and Leona were told and agreed to having their pics posted to Vil's magicam#mello's drawings#twisted wonderland#twst#n2 squad#leojami#leovil#javil#jamil viper#vil schoenheit#leona kingscholar#my art#ask me anything

Fuck it, HH swap AU
Their core personalities and backgrounds stay the same, it's mostly a role switch
Niffty <--> Husker
Angel Dust <--> Vaggie
Alastor <--> Charlie
(the typical for swap AUs, I know,,)
Everyone else stays the same

These r edits bc I was just figuring out their designs for the AU, I'll draw them normally another time (Husker isn't here cuz I can't find a good png of the mf)
In this AU Alastor started the hotel mostly because he randomly thought up the idea once and thought, "that's fucking hilarious, I'm doing that" + a secondary sentimental reason he'd kill me for saying (he got genuinely fully invested in the cause eventually)
He advertised it on his radio show suddenly out of the blue after 7 and a half years of radio (lol) silence. Alastor still owns Husker's and Niffty's souls but they're also obviously friends (or atleast close to it)
Also he can read tarot bc why not :3
Charlie is closer to her dad in this AU and more sheltered, adopting a more aloof, smug, and dangerous persona so sinners take her seriously, she also has a very slight condescending outlook towards sinners but she's at her core still compassionate and still views them as her people and want to protect them to a certain extent, and she still thinks the Exterminations are unnecessary and cruel, but she doesn't feel like she can do much about it since according to Lucifer's stories and discouragement, she knows heaven likely wouldn't listen much if at all, but when she heard of Alastor's little project it resparked hope in her and she decided to invest in it, becoming co-owner and funder for the hotel.
Angel Dust/Anthony never made a deal with Valentino and actually stayed in his family's crime/mafia business for the 1st half of him being in Hell, but his dad is a POS and kicked him out for being gay so he started doing s3x work, and then he met Alastor after he brutalized his harassers one day, and Angel wanted to repay the favor somehow. Alastor seems interested in him so they struck a deal (not a soul deal, just a simple deal) which has Angel/Anthony is under Alastors protection in exchange for Angel/Anthony's loyalty and assistance when needed (which is a rare case so Angel still feels like he owes Alastor). They grow friendly with time, and Alastor offers to have him be patient zero for his redemption project, and he accepted.
Vaggie/Vi is still a fallen exterminstor and still met Charlie the same way she did in the show, but after that they went their separate ways and Vi finds herself making a deal with Velvette. Instead of being a pornstar like Angel in the show, she is an influencer and a rockstar/singer, she does enjoy making music and playing the guitar but Velvette tends to overwork her and make her do things she doesn't really like for views/popularity. Velvette is the nicest to Vi/Vaggie compared to with her other employees (which isn't a very highly set bar tbh) but she also frequently break her boundaries.
Vi met Charlie again during one of her concerts and they got close and started dating. (Also one sided Velvette x Vaggie is sort of slightly maybe canon in this AU bc toxic Yuri is fun (and it's only fully one sided after Charlie and Vaggie/Vi started dating))
She helps manage the hotel when needed, but is honestly only there cause Charlie is.
Not much about Niffty changes tbh (she's perfect the way she is, utterly unhinged 😍) she's just a bit more mellowed out and less hyper (she's still hyper just not all the time like in the show) and she's also a bartender and has surprisingly good taste for alcohol, and also frequently makes borderline poisonous drinks while experimenting, but when she gets it right it's really good. Doesn't stop the others of being terrified of her drinks though
Husker is a more smiley and charming in this AU, using a laid back attitude to put people at ease and more willing to open up to him if they need to (he used to use the information people share as blackmail when he needs to back when he was an Overlord, although he never actually needs to spread anything, just threats), and he's still very observant but he's also slightly more unhinged- He's a sort of butler/cleaner for the hotel
He still gets grumpy time to time, but mostly when he's drunk, which isn't as often anymore ever since Niffty was put in charge of the bar (understandably so)
He has a bit of an anger issue and also gets annoyed easily, and sometimes makes unhinged threats as a sort of joke (they stop being much of a joke once you genuinely piss him off)
He likes things clean and tidy because it helps him pretend to be put together
He and Alastor are a bit friendlier compared to in the show, hes still one of the few people that knows more about Alastor, though hes still bummed about the whole being owned by Alastor thing (Husker can also read tarot to a lesser extent bc Al taught him for funzies and Husker thought it's interesting)
His gambling addiction is also ever so slightly worse
#alastor hazbin hotel#hazbin hotel husk#hazbin angel dust#niffty#hazbin vaggie#swap au#hazbin hotel swap au#velvette mentioned#radiodust#chaggie#Velvette x Vaggie#seriously am i the only one who thought of this ship?#huskerdust#the ship tags are mostly just for reach but at the same time not really#i love them#btw#if u even care#UpsideDown/Swap AU

@tadc-funfair-au's Pomctober/Pomni Inktober Day 5 - @sm-baby's Carnival AU
WALL OF TEXT INCOMING
Hands down, no competition, my favorite AU to read and learn about as it unfolds. On the other hand, this might be the one that I am least proud of after drawing. I know I said that I'd come out swinging for Day 5, but I legitimately couldn't find the vision. I feel like I made so, so many mistakes just on this one alone. Ignoring the practical mistakes for a second, for some reason, I had such a hard time thinking on what I wanted to have as the setting. I thought of using Pomni's tent with her on the dive-board or on a pedestal you see the ringmaster standing on, then I thought in the bedroom hallway, and even after sleeping on it I still couldn't get it right. Eventually I just decided to draw sentient Pomni outside of Kinger's throne room (at least I'm pretty sure Kinger would have an ornate entryway to his room, idk). I'm absolutely terrible at drawing environments, interior or otherwise, only reason why I thought Day 3's background looked remotely good was because I was able to use the horror aspect of it to cover it up, but Carnival doesn't have the same attributes to use as a veil. But it's whatever, I can't bring myself to touch the file further since I know that it's just going to get worse.
I'm going to skip over Day 6 completely for two reasons: One, refresh my mind in terms of drawing TADC and do research for Day 7. Two, I don't feel like logging into Instagram (or twitter, which means that I'm going to skip over Day 10 as well).
Now, while I am going to stop drawing TADC and Pomctober for tomorrow, I've found another Inktober prompt list, Goretober. So I'm going to just do a few drawings for that one and warning people in advance that do not wish to see that kind of stuff: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY, GO SET YOUR FILTERED TAGS TO INCLUDE "cw: guro", "cw: blood", "cw: death" AND/OR "cw: gore"! I'll be including the Violence content label but this is just for good measure.
With that, finally, I'm done with the usual ranting. Again, I'm going to be posting a few very violent and bloody sketches for Goretober later on, so go filter out the tags I listed above by going to "Settings" > "Account" > "Content you see" > "Filtered Tags". Those posts won't be showing up often, and I might make an entirely separate blog in the future just to make sure that my usual content isn't mixed in with the mature. I shall leave you with that warning, and safe travels!

The Stranger.
Pairing: Jackson!Joel X Female Reader
Summary: In the midst of a scorching Jackson summer, a strange pair arrive, isolated in the withering house opposite. Hot lonely nights lure you out onto the porch, waiting for something you can't quite place. But when Joel finally appears, will you find it? Or something else entirely?
Tags: Age gap, eventual smut. I'll update these as I go on.
Love notes: Jackson Joel has a special place in my heart. Feedback is strongly encouraged, if constructive. ❤️
____
Wyoming winters are brutal. Trees, stripped of their leaves, stand like skeletons against the endless sky. The sharp cold cuts right to the bone. Yet, despite the harshness, there’s a quiet serenity – a solitude that feels almost sacred. But that’s nothing, nothing compared to a summer in Jackson.
Clouds catch fire in the dying light, the sun heavy and rich sinks lower, casting long shadows over the porch that surrounds your home. The air is still thick with humidity. It draws you out of damp cotton sheets in search of something; unable to place it, you pad out onto the deck, sinking into a rickety porch swing. The sound of distant crickets hum in the background, the whisper of a breeze rustles the leaves, but it doesn’t quite reach the corners where the heat lingers.
As its golden light softens and slips away, the melancholy of an august evening weighs heavy. A few fireflies blink lazily in the dusk, they linger around the flickering, clinical light of the neighbouring house. A white craftsman with a modest porch and mismatched garden furniture stands empty tonight, its inhabitant is rarely seen but always mentioned; in rumour or tall tale, whispered in dark corners of the Tipsy Bison.
It continues this way each evening, for a week or more. As the world winds down, you find yourself lured outside, caught in the brief snapshot between day and night, where the light becomes softer and everything around you seemed to blur at the edges. You stretch aching limbs, tired from long days on garden duty, a particularly tough rotation, one you’d happily trade your good coffee to skip, but no one liked coffee that much.
For a moment, everything feels still. A breeze brushes against your face, cool enough to raise goosebumps, carrying with it a noise from somewhere in your peripheral. You don’t move right away, just breathe, blinking slowly, trapped in the limbo of consciousness.
“It tastes like burnt shit!”
An unlikely pair sit across from you on the porch, in a quiet world of their own. They haven’t noticed you – too absorbed in the quiet rhythm of their conversation. The girl, a dark auburn, her pale skin spattered with freckles that have grown with the sun perches on the edge of a chair, one spindly leg tucked under the other. Both hands animated as she speaks, squawking a laugh at the way her companion chastises her.
The man leans back in his seat, a broad sun-scorched arm draped over the backrest. The other hand cradles a cup that might resemble an owl – its finer details are buried within the evening dusk. You weren’t one for gossip, not usually; but the way people talked about him – them, had you more than just intrigued, maybe even scared.
He’s older than her, fatherly but not by blood, perhaps? His smile is quiet but steady, surrounded by a salt and pepper beard and matching hair that curls at the nape of his neck. He’s handsome, in an unimposing way, rugged and warm.
“Cat, her name is. She seems cool, she does tattoos Joel! Tattoos!”
Joel. Joel, doesn’t interrupt, just listens.
Her voice is soft but quick, like she’s telling a story she’s been holding onto for a while. She laughs suddenly, brushing a loose strand of hair behind her ear, her whole face lighting up. Every now and then, he says something, you imagine something thoughtful and low because she nods like she’s filing it away somewhere important.
“Ellie. Come on now, it’s getting late.”
“Ohh, okay.” Ellie pauses in a pivot toward the door. Two fingers of her left hand are enveloped by her right in quick succession before she speaks again. “Erm, leave the hall light on tonight. Please Joel.”
It had been years since you left Jackson, years since you let the realities of what lay in wait out there enter your brain. But it surrounds them now – following, not seen but always there.
“Alright.” Joel nods. They don’t touch, but the space between them feels warm, familiar. Like the conversation has happened a hundred times before, just never exactly this way.
The porch around them fades a little – the mismatched furniture, the creaking boards, even the fading sky. That’s all that’s left when you muster up the courage to move fully, legs protesting as you stand and tiptoe back into the entryway and house beyond.
--
Joel freezes mid turn, something at the edge of his vision – mottled skin, oozing crevices of fungus squeezing out of rotting wounds, no? It’s not panic, not yet – more like curiosity wrapped in caution. You’re in Jackson, old man. Safe. It’s what he tells himself, when his chest squeezes in the way it used to, from before. When his hands shake and curl in fists at his sides. You’re safe. Ellie’s safe.
He catches the movement just as she slips through the doorway – bare toned legs, a flash of hair, the soft thunk of a screen door closing behind her. She’s gone before Joel can say anything, chastise her for eavesdropping. The thought needles at him.
He stays glued to the spot, jaw tight, eyes stuck to the now empty doorway. Joel plays the last few minutes of conversation back in his head, wondering what she heard – thanking a God he doesn’t believe in that the word immune wasn’t uttered in a moment of safety. Annoyance flickers across his face – more at himself than her. He should probably tell Ellie again, remind her that it’s never a topic of discussion – she’s just a normal girl, with a normal chemical burn. Isn’t that right.
Still, there’s something under the irritation. Intrigue. A quiet, maddening kind. She hadn’t said a word, hadn’t made a sound. Just watched. Or listened. And then vanished like she’d never been there at all.
Joel shakes his head, ignoring the twinge in his back and heads inside, muttering something about nosy neighbours under his breath. But even in the isolation of his bedroom Joel’s gaze drifts back to the house again, like maybe she’s still there behind the curtains, watching him now.

"Above everything else, stay away from the Ink Demon. He likes to smile, and he kills anything that moves."
-----
I said before that I wanted to post the stuff that I did for the SOTM 1 year anniversary drawing that I posted a while ago,so here it is! The first one, that is. The Ink Demon himself. Since I was going to put some filters on him and push him into the background, I thought it would be good to post the original drawing separately and without filters (there is, I admit, a filter over him in this one, but it's pretty unnoticeable) so people could see him better. I was pretty happy with how it turned out, and I wanted to show him off.
The thing with the BATDR Ink Demon is that I think he has a very cool design, its just that i'm not used to drawing characters that are more "monstrous" (if that's the word) in design so drawing him can sometimes be a little tricky for me. At least with his body I can find my way and draw something that I'm kind of happy with, but the head was what I always had trouble with. Both the shape of the horns and the shape of the head were always difficult for me to get right. Happy to say this time,I got it. Probably my best attempt at drawing the DR Demon in a good while. Think I'll use this drawing as a reference for future drawings featuring the guy.
Coloring and detailing was also a fun process. I like to try to replicate a lot of the details of the in-game model in drawings like this. Maybe a little unnecessary when only half of the drawing appears in the final result and under filters, but it's not something I regret doing (at least in this case. Just wait until I show you the Bendy dummy)
Something that I realised a while ago is that I never really posted a drawing in here that featured the DR Demon as the center of the piece. Yeah, there is the BATDR 1 Year anniversary drawing from 2023 and again, the recent SOTM one,but I'm talking about him being The center of the drawing, not sharing the spotlight or just being part of a bigger project, and appearing from the front and in his entirety, not from behind or just part of him,you know. Which is quite surprising to me,because I really like his Dark Revival design,so you'll think at this point I would have already made a drawing dedicated to him. I'll like to change that eventually.
I have an ideia for something that I wanna do with him. It's more of a test than an actual full-on drawing, but I think it will be interesting to do nonetheless. So that will make for at least 2 drawings with the Ink Demon (the other being with the BATIM design) that are, hopefully, upcoming.
When I have time - or when I feel like it - I'll post the other digital drawings that I did for that piece. Which is basically the more SOTM centric ones,so Gaskette,Fred,Dumdy and Guffie. Only reason I posted Inky separated is because I wanted to give the spotlight for him first :P.
Have a good one folks.
(And happy anniversary BATIM Chapter 4! I wish I had something that would be more appropriate for the occasion :,))
#bendy and the ink machine#batim#bendy and the dark revival#batdr#the ink demon#ink demon#crookedsmileart#funny enough;I also find the BATIM demon tricky to draw too but for very different reasons#but I will talk about these reasons when I finish and post the drawing I have on the backburner#whenever that happens ¯\_(ツ)_/¯#on a unrelated note; man do I wanna replay BATDR so bad#last time I opened the game was December;the feeling of replaying the game is on my body once more#but I have plans of playing other games in the forseable future so don't know when this will happen#gonna be deltaning my runes this may and possibly? crafting some mines too (in story mode version)#I can only play 2 different games at a time so I dont know when I'll have time for the funny Bendy game replay#I'll figure it out though;eventually;

Godamnit, I've been busted! Did Akane tell you who I am, or do you have some sort of 4th wall powers? /j
All jokes aside though, thanks for having me!
Fun fact: I actually have a reason for the name Cara. Well, kinda. It's mostly because of Kris and Frisk being almost anagrams except for one letter. The car pun was completely unintentional, but man, ngl, THAT SHITS CRAZY, I LOVE THAT /pos
Also, with every ask I send, Cara gets another bar of extra-dark chocolate in the fridge. (No, I will not explain where I get them.)
~Chocolate Anon.
I don't think Chara's gonna eat the random chocolate, they're untrusting of suspiciously appearing cocoa products, but it's the thought that counts! Also, I'm sure Asriel will do something silly with them eventually. As for how I know who you are: ya'll, I also read Twin Runes! HOW QUICKLY WE FORGET OUR FAVORITE DETECTIVE (Ignore the person who asked about them like less than 24 hours ago)!
youtube
Ye. That's me. I'm the Kris. Moss. I've done a few other silly little things around Twin Runes as well, but it all started with my fandub, where I'd draw custom little parts for the comic to give it a bit more movement and life! Oh, uh, I guess while we're here, now's a good of time to mention it as any, it's been in the FAQ a while but I figure it's good to have it as a note out here as well:
PSA: YOU HAVE TO ASK TO DUB TWIN ROOMIES
Now, you might wonder to yourself "Why the change from Twin Runes to Twin Roomies", and the answer is simple! New artist, new rules, really just how it is. Akane gets a LOT of requests to voice Twin Runes, so many that it'd be really hard to keep up with directly communicating with that many people about permissions and such. No such issue here, and as someone who's been doing voiceover for a while now themselves it's always been etiquette to ask permission if not outright given, and I'd like to reserve the right to say no. Now, am I GOING to say no? Probably not, but if you're offended by the idea of having to ask the person who's script and art you're using as the foundation of your adaptation for permission to make such an adaptation? I don't want you adapting my stuff! I'm not hard to reach, worst comes to worst you can use the very inbox this ask was submitted in and as long as you use an account I can reply to you privately to tell you "go ahead"! I might even just end up, gee, I dunno... putting your video at the end of one of these posts because it's super cool and I LOVE the way it turned out?
youtube
The Dubsoul team did a FANTASTIC JOB with this video, and because they reached out they had access to EVERYTHING I HAD. That's the original foley, that's the music track in the background, the FX seperated, the subtitles both on the video and as a .srt file, etc.! ANYWAYS! TLDR; It's my stuff, you gotta ask, don't be the next Kyotosomo or I'll suplex you, okay? Thanks, Chocolate Anon, and sorry your post got hijacked a bit!

Daryl Dixon Rewatch S1E06 - Coming Home
it's the first ep with an English title and the last of the season. overall, i wanna say i was actually surprised how much i did enjoy watching. the complete focus on Daryl without all the background noise/storylines/characters, the way he still means what he says, but he's actually using his words and lots of sass instead of the typical nodding and grunting. good job!
but i gotta confess that if i hadn't known beforehand that Carol was going to be a part of this show, i probably wouldn't have bothered 🤷♀️. the fact Carol's not only back on screen, but she is such a great part of the whole vibe of the show, was actually unexpected. this show is straight up showing us Carol is the driving force in Daryl's relentless journey to get back home.
whoever tries to convince you Daryl is conflicted about where he belongs and where he wants to be is lying to you (pointing at you, Z!!). he literally spends 6 whole episodes reminding everybody he's got a home, people who love him waiting, a promise to keep, and a need to get back asap.
it doesn't mean Daryl does not form connections while on that journey. because he does - the strongest with Laurent, obviously, however, none strong enough to hold him back from his ultimate goal, which is going home to keep his promise to CAROL!
anyways, let's get to the season 1 finale:
the super!walkers fighting scene in the arena is pretty epic: from Daryl's super cool kill with the French flag to that Daryl/Quinn team up! the cherry on top being Daryl throwing that walker head at Genet. Loved IT!
Quinn eventually does help Daryl escape, and later, unfortunately, almost kills Isa, who is once again totally helpless against any kind of threat (killer nun, my ass!). in a scene eerie similar to the one in Daryl's underwater premonition a couple of eps ago, Daryl prompts Laurent to kill walker!Quinn with a "God will forgive you."
Laurent says something that sounds like it will be the whole point of Caryl's French adventure. "Sometimes you have to do horrible things, and no matter how bad you feel, if there is no other choice, God will forgive you." this feels like the key to breaking out of the cycle Carol has been stuck to since she was banished by Rick. (i'll probably post my s2 spec and theories next week!)
next, we see Daryl watching lovebirds Sylvie and Emile saying goodbye, they have to separate (i see what you did there, Z!), and reassures Sylvie that Emile will be alright before she asks him if he's ever been in love. BOY, has he ever!! Daryl's non response is quite telling. he knows what it feels like to say goodbye to the one you love without knowing if you'll ever see them again. and he's not alright, he's all the way in a whole different continent, separated by the Atlantic ffs.
we get some new insight into Daryl's origins when he and Isa share stories about their fathers. Daryl believes that his grandpa never returning home from war ruined their family for future generations and worries the cycle might repeat itself. has Daryl been reading about generational trauma? sharing this with her will bite him in the ass, later!
Isa's confession of her lie about the drawing gets absolutely no reaction from Daryl because it had zero influence on what happened next. Daryl didn't stay cause he believed in a new Messiah, he stayed because the kid was about to get in trouble, when Codron attacked his home; he stayed because it was a way of finding help getting him closer to a radio or boat to actually get him home; he stayed so he could take the kid to a place where he would be safe, and Daryl could finally leave without feeling guilty.
the great Daryl and Isa exchange looks compilation is trying too hard to show us, yes, Daryl has made a connection to these people, and is fairly content at the Nest with Laurent and the most mundane activities like peeling potatoes. they are showing us Daryl could stay here, make this his new home. why not? HE MADE A PROMISE! no matter what he could never be happy here, this is not his HOME.
Losang gives him a way out, but also tries to convince him to stay. "Sometimes, when a person leaves home, he comes to find he belongs someplace else." and it's true, if Daryl didn't know where, with whom he belonged. and it's not with Laurent and Isa.
it's really embarrassing how Isa tries to manipulate and guilt trip Daryl into staying with them using Laurent and Daryl's history. it has been like 2 months tops, and they acting like Daryl himself gave birth to Laurent, and wants to abandon his kid. bitch please, he has kids he actually raised and a wife back home!!
Daryl resents his grandpa for abandoning the family to fight in someone else’s war, and that's exactly what he would be doing if he chose to stay in France. that's what Isa will never understand - he had a whole full life with people who looked up to him, relied on him, loved him, before he even met her and Laurent. he wasn't lost. the connection he found with the people there isn't new to him, he has Judith and RJ, he has Connie and Zeke. but most importantly, he has a HOME (Carol!!!).
there's this beautiful emotional moment of Daryl quietly saying goodbye to a sleeping Laurent, and it's clear this kid means a lot to him. however, not nearly enough to make him stay. he still chooses to LEAVE. so many people trying to convince him he belongs with them, and he is still 10000000% sure he has to go back. there truly is ZERO hesitation.
i lost count how many times Daryl actually tried to leave, but it was always the kid's safety that kept him around again and again. he is so close to getting on that boat, literally fiercely fighting walkers to get to the beach, to get closer to HOME, and the same happens AGAIN. biggest FML moment for Daryl. Laurent, who is surrounded by walkers, is calling his name! FUCK ME!
and finally, we get to the highlight of this finale, Carol's badass entry. the way she's so absolutely calm with a big dude pointing a gun at her, PLEASE. she knows he's fucked around and is about to find out. no one takes Daryl's belongings and gets away with it.
"if you're lying, i won't be back." and she rides off on Daryl's bike. ICONIC. LEGENDARY. EPIC.
21 days left until the premiere of THE BOOK OF CAROL!!!!!

I have fallen down a Fourth World rabbit hole (this is @ngoziu's fault) and am now reading everything DC has ever published with these characters, in order, as is my wont, and I have a lot of thoughts and feelings, so I'm going to start dumping them all here. Sorry.
Background if you have no idea what I'm talking about but want to read this post anyway (why?): in 1971, Jack Kirby left Marvel because he couldn't put up with Stan Lee any longer and came to DC, where they were like "Yes you can do anything you want" (this was a lie). He immediately began writing, drawing, and editing an incredibly ambitious epic that stretched over four simultaneously published books: Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen (we can mostly ignore this one), New Gods, Mister Miracle, and The Forever People. These books came to be known as Jack Kirby's Fourth World Tetralogy.
The books all center around the war between the utopian planet New Genesis, ruled by the benevolent Highfather, and the dystopian planet Apokalips, ruled by the evil Darkseid. At the heart of the narrative is "The Pact," aka The Cosmic Baby Swap. To ensure a (temporary) truce, Highfather and Darkseid traded sons when said children were very young - so Orion, Darkseid's son, is raised on New Genesis, and Scott Free, Highfather's son, is raised on Apokalips. Neither knows who their real father is until adulthood.
Orion grows up in a utopia, but tormented by his feelings of rage and otherness that he can't explain. Scott is raised in a torture orphanage, because that's just what happens on Apokalips, but eventually he escapes to Earth and becomes the escape artist Mister Miracle. The Cosmic Baby Swap begs what to me is the central question of the Fourth World, which is: what is the nature of good? Which boy will be a hero? The one born to good and raised by evil, or the one born to evil and raised by good?
TRICK QUESTION THEY'RE BOTH HEROES!!! GOOD IS MORE POWERFUL THAN EVIL! LOVE WINS AND FASCISM LOSES! This is so, so important to me and any version of these characters that doesn't understand the really not very complex symbolism here is invalid and kind of embarrassing for the writer (looking at you, Tom King).
Also Scott falls in love with and eventually marries Big Barda, one of Darkseid's fiercest warriors, who was born on Apokalips and raised on Apokalips and chooses good anyway. LOVE WINS AGAIN! BARDA TOPS HER TINY HUSBAND IN THE NAME OF PEACE AND COMPASSION!
Sadly DC canceled New Gods and Forever People after only 11 issues, which kind of killed Kirby's whole vision. Mister Miracle limped along until #18, but as a really pale shadow of itself. So we never really got the full scope of Kirby's original plans.
ANYWAY. That's the background. Now thoughts on the actual comics:
Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen: I love Jimmy, I love Superman, I love the Newsboy Legion, but this book feels very tangential to the whole Fourth World experiment and I think we can safely set it to the side. However, if you love the 90s Superboy series, I recommend dipping into this because it's the source material for a lot of Kon's worldbuilding (Cadmus, Dubbilex, clone Guardian, etc.).
The Forever People (1971): So I originally read all the Jack Kirby Fourth World stuff like...at least 15 years ago, when I was still relatively new to comics, and I'll be honest: I didn't get it. Kirby is sort of an acquired taste, and I didn't really have any context for what he was doing. I understood the metaphors, but I didn't get why people found the work appealing. And Forever People in particular was the book where I was like "Why. What is the point of this" the most.
Rereading it many years later, I find it to be a lot more moving and profound - like, the Happyland issue alone is a knockout. That said, Kirby is, uhhhh...not great at ensemble characterization without Lee, and the Forever People themselves are unforgivably bland. Default Guy! Big Guy! Black Guy! Girl! Kid! Props to Kirby for making it a not all-white group - and for introducing five out of seven of DC's first Black characters in the space of, like, two years - but it would have been nice if he gave them personalities, too.
New Gods (1971): This is Orion's book and the heart of the Fourth World. At its best, it's the pinnacle of "Makes no sense...compels me, though." Like, "Glory Boat?" I don't understand a single thing that happened in that comic but it's so fucking good. I just want to read thousands of words of comics scholars over the past 50 years going "????" in collective confused admiration.
Mister Miracle (1971): This was the book I was most invested in when I read the Fourth World years ago, because I already loved Scott and Barda from JLI, but now I think it's weaker than New Gods and arguably even than Forever People. Kirby doesn't seem as invested in going all in on Big Concepts here, and Scott escaping endless weird deathtraps is only compelling for so long. The later issues, after the other books were canceled and DC made Kirby pivot away from the Apokalips/New Genesis war, are nothing. But Scott and Barda (and Oberon and Shilo) are everything, so I guess it balances out. Anyway Scott clearly already knows a lot about Earth by the time he meets Oberon and Thaddeus Brown, so DC please feel free to hire me to write a Mister Miracle: Year One miniseries about Scott's arrival on Earth, thank you.
Okay, now for the post-Kirby (or really, intra-Kirby) stuff:
Mister Miracle (1977): This picks up the numbering from the Kirby series, running from #19-25, and was written by Steve Englehart and then Steve Gerber, and it sucks so bad. For three reasons, in escalating importance:
Riddled with continuity holes and factual errors that don't match what Kirby established. Himon is shown on New Genesis - how did he get there? Metron is depicted as subservient to Highfather when Kirby showed him as a neutral, independent agent. Etc.
The treatment of non-Scott characters is largely terrible. Oberon is written really condescendingly (Scott's like "Ride on my shoulders like you used to!" even though they definitely did not ever do that before, because Oberon is not a child). When Scott feels guilty that he's not actively fighting the war, Highfather's like "I don't want you to fight because I feel bad that I traded you to Darkseid, let Orion do it" as if that isn't the root of Orion's severe emotional trauma TOO. And worst of all is Barda, who is knocked out and captured in the first issue and spends pretty much the entire rest of the series unconscious, waiting for Scott to rescue her - except for the brief scene where she wakes up brainwashed, requiring Scott to beat the shit out of her. Lovely.
The series is reeeally fixated on the notion that Scott is a god, and extrapolates that to Scott deciding he's the messiah. Now, I'm not going to say that the Fourth World can't be used to explore Christian themes just because Kirby is Jewish, because Kirby was very definitely exploring biblical themes extensively and frankly I don't know enough about the Bible to say whether he was sticking religiously (ha) to the Old Testament. But I do think taking one of the central characters of a Jewish man's magnum opus and making him the messiah is, uh, pushing it. And there's no way to argue he's not a Christian messiah because, uh, he T-poses a lot in this series and Granny also specifically states that if Scott is the messiah, she'll find an anti-Christ to combat him (which...wouldn't that sort of by default be Orion? which just further proves that the idea of a messiah really doesn't work in the Fourth World framework). Anyway it's gross and I hate it.
New Gods (1977): I'm kind of using this as a catchall to cover all of Gerry Conway's New Gods work, which includes the actual 1977 New Gods series (which picks up the numbering from Kirby, so it's #12-19), the conclusion of the story in Adventure Comics, and the Justice League of America crossover with the Fourth World. (Also there's one issue of Super-Team Family where Lightray and Metron team up with the Flash to save Orion, who has grown really really big, but that doesn't fit with the rest of Conway's continuity so I guess we can ignore it.)
Anyway this stuff is not as infuriating as Mister Miracle, but it's also not...good. The central concept is that Darkseid has discovered that the Anti-Life Equation is contained within the brains of six humans, so Highfather sends six New Gods to protect said humans: Orion, Lightray, Metron (he doesn't work for you, Highfather), Forager (also does not work for you), Lonar, and Sensational Character Find of 1977, Jezebelle of the Fiery Eyes (Original Character Do Not Steal).
Mostly this series is frustrating because all the New Gods are wildly incompetent and fail completely at their tasks. Orion is dumbed down to The World's Most Basic Superhero (he has a big O on his chest now!). I spent the whole time yelling "HE CAN'T FLY, GERRY!" at the comics. Forager is lumped in with no mention of that whole thing where...he's a New God who was raised among the Bugs, who are being persecuted by the New Gods? I feel like that should be explained or at least addressed? (Presumably Kirby would have gotten around to it eventually.) Forager also should not be flying but here he does. I guess. Lonar flies too but mostly on his horse, which bothers me less for some reason, I'll accept a flying horse. (Also Lonar's human he's supposed to protect is Inuit and hoo boy is this comic racist. The poor guy wears a fur diaper the whole time and speaks a completely made up language.)
And then there's Jezebelle of the Fiery Eyes. Who is blue, for reasons that are never explained, and wears a bikini and fishnets because it's 1977, and mentions her fiery eyes (heat vision) every time she speaks. She's from Apokalips, but defected to New Genesis during battle. Which, like...I appreciate that Conway recognized that this team should have a female character, but what with Orion, Scott, Barda, and Inexplicably Present Himon, it feels like we have enough characters who have defected from Apokalips in some way? And it's just super weird that the ONLY female characters we have seen from New Genesis are Beautiful Dreamer of the Forever People (trapped in another dimension indefinitely) and Scott's dead mom. Like, what's the implication here? Heaven doesn't have women? Also, I know Conway was going for biblical names to match New Genesis and Izaya (he also introduces a Lucifar), but, like...Jezebelle? JEZEBELLE. Your only female New God and you named her "whore." Amazing.
And with that, we have covered the New Gods in the 70s (minus some Mister Miracle/Batman teamups). Next time: the 80s, and Kirby tries so so hard to kill Orion but DC won't let him.

hey, all -- i have a bit of an unfortunate request, and i apologize in advance for how unfortunate it is.
recently, the artist i was working with for stardust has suffered a health crisis that basically means they're now unable to draw. (i do not have permission to share any further personal details and will not be doing so.) because of this, my plan for the book 2 promo and onward is blown entirely out of the water, and i'm now five months past my original launch date without any visual material to launch with, and because of my disabilities, i can't exactly draw, either.
(if i were to start drawing something to use as a promotional piece right now, i would probably only be able to finish it in approximately five more months. the result would also look extremely amateurish and visually confusing, but that's beside the point.)
i've been holding off on launching book 2 until i have visual material, preferably the book cover, because:
the stardust website layout is built for three book covers, and launching book 2 without a cover makes the website look pretty garbage,
unfortunately, it's practically impossible to get any audience attention or retain audiences on image-heavy websites (99% of the internet) with only text, and i don't want to piss away my energy and effort trying to get people on social media to pay attention with only text, particularly on bluesky.
now, the unfortunate fact of the matter here is that i'm on SSI, and SSI is a brutally inhumane and cruel financial restriction on disabled people. i am only permitted a maximum of $980 a month (with anything extra i make on top of that being taken out of that income), and i am not allowed to save more than $2000 at once. i physically can not save enough money, ever, to commission art at a fair price. certainly, if i budget very effectively, i can pay you $50 as a one-time purchase -- but a book cover priced fairly is at bare minimum 10x that.
i know i will probably have to give up on my desire for book covers entirely; i'm coming to terms with that as we speak, and i'll redesign the website eventually to look good some other way. but that said, i'd... really love if it there was someone out there who was willing to make some kind of promotional image -- something eye-catching that i can put on social media to promote book 2, with visual hints at the story to come -- for a total of $50 or less. i know that's an obscenely terrible ask, and i wouldn't ask it of the public if i had the capability to make it myself, but i... don't.
all that said, it is extremely understandable to not take me up on this request, since it's a pretty ridiculous one to begin with, and please don't feel pressured to oblige, even if it's because you like stardust. if i don't get any leads in the next couple of weeks, i'll start updates, write a summary in colored text and put it on a colored background, export that as an image, and hope it's similar enough to what the algorithm wants to get some eyes on the novel.
thanks for reading, thanks for sticking with me, and i apologize really, really deeply for the delays and the ask.

having finally beaten ToTK awhile ago, I feel I can give some thoughts, I have many, but I'll focus on the story right now
my main feeling towards the game is frustration
this game had some of the best scenes in any Zelda game, full stop
Ganondorf's unsealing, fucking banger
the dragon scene? fucking AMAZING
drawing the master sword high up above the clouds? Beautiful
"Remember this name" as the main theme plays in the background, FUCK man
and that was possibly the coolest final boss of any video game I've ever played
but everything else is just... meh
and it's really frustrating, I feel like if given more time to cook, they could've made something really fucking cool
the story was really disorganized, and frankly, I got tired hearing the same thing 4 times, not skipping any of the sage cutscenes in hopes something, ANYTHING, would be different, but they weren't, I was fed the same thing four times!
and ultimately... I wasn't that invested in the story
some say that Zelda has always had bad stories, and this is just false
Zelda has always had relatively simple stories
but I was invested in stopping Ganon in OoT, I saw his impact on the world, and I saw how it impacted characters I'd grown to love!
I was really invested in the story of Link's Awakening, I didn't want the island to disappear, but it had to as sad it was
I think I cried the first time I beat LA as a child
but... here? Meh, I didn't feel the stakes, they were certainly there, but I mean, when it came to viewing the past, I cared about Zelda I guess, I like her, and I mean, the really fucking good scenes in the past are centered around her
I somewhat cared about Rauru and Sonia, but I mean, that was several millennia ago, I don't mourn dead people from the 2nd century much, of course they're dead, it was long ago, perhaps their death was tragic in some way, but, I don't feel that upset at it
and for the ancient sages... not even the writers cared about them! They don't even have names! WE DON'T EVEN SEE THEIR FACES!
and in the end, the most powerful part of the story, a beautiful scene of sacrifice... was just undone
and I'm not saying that Zelda shouldn't have been saved
BUT
let there be consequences
say that perhaps, she is very negatively impacted by her experience, it may take years for her to get over what has transpired. Which isn't impossible, and is still a hopeful note... but there were consequences, ones that will be overcome with great effort, and community, and support
but instead we are left with Zelda as she was... prior to her sacrifice, she doesn't remember it
I'm not saying happy endings are bad, but, a happy ending out of nowhere with no consequences? I don't like that
I grew up playing Zelda, and often these games had a sense of melancholy to them
Link saved the wind fish... and in the process lost that entire island of people, and Marin in particular
Link sealed away Ganondorf, and went back in time to warn the kingdom, and live out his childhood that was stolen to him... but he knows he's not a Kokiri, his identity was false, and he fundamentally, as Saria said, is of a different world from her, there is an innate barrier that will only grow between him and his former home, and in the end he will eventually become the Hero's Shade
Breath of the Wild did this well, it is a game about the aftermath of your failure, Zelda and Link have both lost their past, they can't return to it, they've failed, and time only moves forward, and they do
in all of these cases, it's not entirely negative, there is hope, there is a future
but there's also melancholy, there is loss, and I think that's something that ToTK just couldn't do

Creepypasta mansion - BEN's room
Alright! After a good while of working on it I managed to conjure up some bare bones of a room in Blender! This would be BEN's room. So no bed, no furniture, just his PC and maybe a few additional objects (I will post that fully rendered once I finish it)
His room is very empty for now but his proxies(my OCs that I've been obsessing over recently) will force some stuff in. They themselves are going to have their own little residence and I will eventually post more about them as well.
My main goal is to design rooms for all of the major Creepypasta characters, so once I finish BEN's room I'll probably get to making Jeff's, then EJ's and after that I might make a poll. (If people end up interested in this). I'm not sure if I'll ever model the mansion itself, but I hope to do so one day. Who knows, maybe I'll turn it into a game file where you can walk/look around!
Also enjoy an older pic when it was even more of a WIP. But essentially I started making this to make it easier to draw backgrounds for my Creepypasta stuff and it kind of spiraled lol

hello everyone, surprise! this is @lgcminki's mun (velvet!) back with a second muse (woah!!).
let me introduce you to ahn dongha, my silly and witty boy who wants nothing but to make the people around him smile, no matter the cost! he's kind of a prankster, likes to spin words around to mess with people just for fun, but trust that he'd never put anyone in danger for the sake of a funny haha. he's also very good with kids!
here's his profile and under the cut i'll summarize his background and some info below! please like this post and i'll come to you for plotting!
what's up with this guy?
his mum and dad were double act comedians! their passion to make people laugh fell onto dongha and the rest of their kids
however, dongha's parents were not exactly ready when they found out they were expecting dongha, but they put their child first and decided to put their career on some sort of halt as they wait for dongha to be born
once dongha was born and can at least walk and talk, his dad kickstarts his career again as a solo act while his mum stays home to care for their child
dongha grew up an artistic child with a love for creating, whether skits or crafting. eventually though, their family grew when two (significantly) younger sisters (twins) were brought in!
his mum began missing her career, so dongha assured her that she should start pursuing it again, start becoming active alongside his dad once more while he takes care of his younger sisters
loved making them laugh, does a lot of silly things just to get his precious sisters to laugh and enjoy themselves! he does start feeling the burden of the oldest child though, but he keeps that to himself
starts getting into digital art, he starts his own webcomic under a pseudonym (won't infodump too much about this but the genre is fantasy, supernatural romance)! he discontinued it when he got signed to lgc in 2023 for obvious reasons
doesn't really know what to do while he's here, thinks he doesn't have enough visual charm to be an idol, actor or model and thinks he should just be a variety guy. has no idea what lgc sees in him
plot ideas!
someone who might've read his comic that was discontinued, i think he was conceptualizing his last arc before he decided to drop it altogether! never revealed his true identity
someone for him to crochet, draw and take photos with! he loves making scrapbooks too
someone who might've known his parents? he admittedly doesn't know too much about the stand-up comedy world so someone to tell him about his parents' achievements would be nice!
the unfortunate victims of his rambles about his cute little sisters, he likes to talk about them and wail about how much he misses them! he'll show you pictures
the silent listener to his yapperism. someone whose ear he can talk off!
someone who yaps along with him! match his energy
someone gloomy/prickly, so that he can make it his mission to make you laugh and smile to varying levels of success
an unrequited love... give him something to write about, someone that he really wants to make laugh, and make him go through the realization that he wants to be the only one to make you laugh for a long time—break his HEARTTTTTT
or maybe it's mutual. idk. it is not up to me it is up to HIM
anything and everything. feed me

One thing I will never understand is your other readers obsession with people finding out Leia is from the future and/or related to Padmé/Anakin. As far as I'm conerned, the entire story could progress with that secret never coming out and I would be perfectly happy. Enough of my rambling. Keep up the good work! Angst Gremlin Leia lives rent free in my mind...
I've thought about this a lot as questions about the reveal have come and gone at various points in the story. I'm getting a fewer of them these days, but at this point, I think I understand the impulse. My guess is the motive is generally one of two things, one more conscious than the other.
Firstly, I think people are just excited by the idea of the emotions and the drama. Even a vague reveal gives an opportunity for people to be heartbroken on Leia's behalf, patting her on the back or hugging her and consoling her. A specific reveal of things like who she's related to, how and when people died: there's just so much juicy drama in there, so many agonizing feelings to enjoy. And as a writer who pretty good an dragging out the angst in general, I think people get excited with the idea that I would really dip into the pit of misery, that I would draw deeply from that well of agony and make all the characters chug that bitter water. I can see the appeal of this kind of emotionality, but I've also obviously managed to find plenty of misery to slosh around without going that far. Still, I can understand the craving.
Partly because I think the first matter flows into part two, which is catharsis. Some of that is just emotional. Yes, everyone wants the agony of Anakin (let's be real, it's mostly Anakin) realizing the depths of darkness that Leia experienced with Vader. But there's also the payoff on the other side of that. The closeness that could come on the other side. And I think it's assumed that's what would happen because that's sort of the nature of Leia's arc that I've set up. The story begins not with politics, but with Leia's grief. It's not just a background motif. It's a persistent theme, and a character arc that is deeply important to the story. If Don't Look Back ends without clearly showing Leia moving past some stage of her grief, into a happier future, I'll basically have failed as an author. Since Leia's relationship with Anakin is so fraught because of her history with Vader, and since her grief means she aggressively keeps secrets to maintain control, it's pretty reasonable that there are people that assume a plot resolution of this arc will include her revealing the truth to someone. Maybe even many someones. It would be one pretty tangible way to show that growth.
All of their speculation aside, I've got a much better idea at this point of how much Leia is eventually going to reveal, to whom, and when. She may yet surprise me, but I'm much more settled in the beats of the arc of her grief specifically. And I've known pretty much since the beginning how this story was going to end. So everyone will just have to wait and see where we land.

Unni! Dropping in with some questions for Akari~! Hopefully it's not too many.
💤, 📿, 🌊, 📜, and 🎱?
Final note, I hope you're doing well and life is being kind to you!
These questions are all so interesting I needed to some time to think about them!
💤 How do they sleep, curled up? or holding on to something?
I feel she is 90% a side sleeper, perfect for holding on to something, can be a stuffed animal or if in modern setting, a body pillow? jk. She and Giyuu cuddle a lot in their sleep once they got married, but after Akari adopts a dog, it's basically this meme.
📿 What superstition/ritual do they cling to
Akari's not overly superstitious but I think she can be quite particular about feng shui. It's important to her that her studio needs to have good feng shui or else it feels off and she will have a hard time concentrating.
I actually planned to draw Akari's workspace in the headquarters for some time, but I haven't gotten around to it partly bc I'm just really lazy when it comes to drawing backgrounds with a lot of perspective, but now I think I'll have to keep feng shui in mind If I ever get around to it.
📜 Is there a story they love sharing with others?
It's very mundane really, but Akari loves to tell stories about how she comes up with her designs. When she's really in the zone (usually reserved for close friends) she can get chatty about she came up with the design for her sword and how she gave it a fun quirky name based on her favorite kibyoshi (early form of manga) that she's read. Basically the taisho equivalent of Akari going ooh look at this sword I named after my fav manga ☺️

Naming your sword is actually a Bleach reference by me, so rip Akari, you would have loved Bleach.
🎱 What kind of future and who's in it.
Akari has a lot of dreams but at the same time, she's also someone who tries to live in the present, but ofc, Akari still fights because she hopes for a future that is free from demons so she could fulfill those dreams to the fullest. She dreams of being able to fully establish her own boutique alongside Giyuu and Mitsuri and all the other people she met during her time in the corps. Since we know how the story ends... Of course we know that not all of them made it out alive which leads us to...
🌊 When was the last time they cried
Probably set after the manga. It all started piling up, first it's Mitsuri's death and how she will never be there to witness when Akari finally established her own boutique. It pains her so much that her best friend whos been supportive of her dream will never see it, and how the people in the corps that died, like Shinobu and Kyo will never see that Akari made designs in memory of all of them.
Then the tipping point was Giyuu's eventual death. Their marriage was sadly short lived when Giyuu eventually succumbed to the mark. I have this scene on my head where Akari confides to Uzui about how she regrets that Giyuu wasn't able to spend more time with them, and that he will never see their kids grow into fine adults, and in my head that will be the last time we see Akari cry in my story.
Sooooo that's why I draw so much self indulgent Giyuu Akari Mitsuri shenanigans in my modern au! 😃👍🏻
#ask game#tag game#my post#kny oc#emotionally Ive been a little here and there... and I feel like ive lost a great deal of my optimism#but i think and hope that ill get through this that this is just a natural process im going through#bc life is changing and all#but other than that im doing okay#I recently had a burst of inspiration so ill probably be spamming art for a bit!#and im looking forward to artfight and keeping in touch w my irls#thanks for checking on me 🥺💞🩷#spoilers#giyuu tomioka#mitsuri kanroji

Hey there, my friend! I saw you reblogging an artist ask game, so please allow me to make you a few questions 🥰
How about 2, 12 (I'm interested if you're willing to share!), 15 and 25? 💖
Sure thing, my friend!
Based on this:
2. How long have you been drawing?
Short answer: for as long as I can remember.
Long answer: I drew a lot as a kid (fun fact: I used to make quick uncolored pencil drawings to tell stories, kinda like storyboards; I would do it for hours and use so much paper that my parents eventually told me to draw on both sides😅). The fact that my older sister was very good at drawing - and I was very competitive - also motivated me to work hard and try to get as good as her. Then I drew less often in high school and in my first college since I had less time and was focused on schoolwork, and then started doing it more often again as I now study graphic design and would like to maybe become an animator if possible - the dream job of my childhood that I gave up on too early. When it comes to digital art specifically... I got my tablet, the very same one I use to this day (Wacom Intuos 4), for Christmas when I was about 15 or 16. Because it was so hard for me to learn how to draw digitally, and like I said I soon started spending less time drawing in general, sometimes I didn't use my tablet for long periods of time. That, of course, eventually changed into using it nearly every day.
12. Is it okay for people to ask you about your process?
Yes, it's okie dokie to ask!
...Or did you mean you wanted to know right now?
In which case, well, it depends on the medium and the specific piece since I don't always do my art the same way. Generally in digital art, for the characters I like to do a rough sketch first, then either a cleaner sketch or lineart (I rarely bother to do both, even in animation - unless my initial rough animation is like... really rough and basic, just to get the feel of the motion). Then I do flat colors, often on separate layers, and then shade/render each part. Or I do the whole character minus the sketch on one layer, it really depends. For example, I did Mario and Luigi both on one layer in my Brothership repaint/wallpaper, other that the yellow glow on their hands. For backgrounds... it really depends, but I usually build them up layer after layer, from general shapes to details, like a normal painting. Of course, I use some sort of sketch for most of them too, unless I don't need it because the BG is very simple or abstract. If I don't want my sketch to be visible, I basically just remove it and refine the parts that look bad without it, sometimes adding some brush strokes imitating lineart in some places. Happens to both characters and backgrounds. I use different brushes to create different effects, but in the majority of my works I've been sharing on here, I only really use a hard round pressure opacity brush for both the final sketch and rendering.
15. How long does an average piece take you to complete?
This one is always tricky to answer (yes, I've been asked this before by some classmates). Uh, several hours? It's really hard to tell exactly simply because I rarely just sit down and complete a whole piece in one go. Unless it's just a simple sketch/doodle. So in reality my average pieces often take me a few days.
25. Do you like to draw in silence, or with music?
There's one piece of advice in Richard Williams' fantastic book The Animator's Survival Kit that I don't think I'll ever be able to heed. It's this one:
Sorry but no, I do almost everything with music. It makes things more enjoyable and ironically makes it easier to focus in the long run. So, definitely drawing with music💯😁
Thank you so much for the ask, @silenzahra!😊
