A hypothetical god tier for Felix Alexius from Dragon Age: the Mage of Doom.
A Mage of Doom is among those who explore energy to influence. They are motivated by themselves to know caution. (x) The Mage of Doom has trouble forgiving their own mistakes and hates confrontation. (x) They are the Genius Defender, defined by introspection and caution. (x) Their opposite is the Seer of Life. Their inverse is the Heir of Life. They share their personality with the Knight of Mind. The Mage of Doom would quest on a planet similar to the Land of Thought and Doom, reigned over by Hades (God of the Underworld) or Persephone (Dual Goddess of Spring Growth and Decay). They would rise to ascension on the wings of locusts. (x)(x)(x)

this post is about @superxstarzz combined classpects, specifically the classes. if you don’t know what i’m talking about, then go check it out!
warning: veeerrry long post. i will be talking a lot and it might not make sense because it’s two in the morning right now.
a pretty long while ago now (probably around october of last year), i had the idea to get super autistic about superxstarzz (aka casey)’s combined classes. since the combined classes are derived from, well, combining the normal classes, the best place i could think to start was by simplifying the function of the canon classes into just a few words. here’s my list below:
maid - mend self
page - grow self, utilize in self
mage - self suffers from; suffers for self
knight - defend others
rogue - distribute to others
sylph - meddle with others
seer - understand/see for others
thief - steal for self
heir - self becomes
bard - invert in self
prince - destroy in others (i know that bards destroy too, but princes destroy more actively than bards)
witch - manipulate others
with this initial task out of the way, figuring out the combinations of the classes became simply figuring out how to combine the functions. this took me only a couple hours of wasted class time, so if you’re a fan of superxstarzz’s combined classpects, feel free to find your favorite class and please enjoy my interpretation of its function!
(note: descriptions will be formatted with the two base classes that combine to make the class, the name of the class, its whole function, and one word to describe its function)

Bro you’re scaring the hoes with your cringe crossover aus
#💫;reblog#OKAY ACTUALLY YOURE KINDA COOKING WITH MUSE OF DOOM NARINDER i can see that i can see that#muse does technically invert into a waste while a lord inverte into a nick if you want to get like into weird bullshit that was done#with the cherubs but a lot of people dont recognize those alternate master(?) classes#rightfully so because they are so fucking strange#i also just tend to avoid master classes personally since theyre treated like legendary pokemon in my brain#if that makes sense#but if he wasnt a muse of doom narinder is like a TEXTBOOK pince of blood to me#Someone who is using blood to destroy blood around him#in this case when he assumedly was taken into the family as the final crownbearer was the heralding of everyone elses destruction#in this case his own relationship with the others causing the direct deterioration of the people around him both in their bonds and#in their flesh directly#hes also been noted to be vicious in his attacks and is easily assumed to be vicious in how he fights#his direct defiance resulted in catastrophic physical wounds to the others which would never have happened had he not been a part of -#-the family#he also directly uses his sons first as pawns of attack when you do fight him#which i personally assume they are biologically his children which is further weaponization of blood around him to further destruction#his eldritch form also requires the physical manipulation of his flesh and subsequent weaponization of his own body -#-( the eyes detaching and attacking in his place)#theres also just the HEAVY chain motif which is usually a blood motif#his body is also physically detoriated which can be taken as a form of how the destruction of blood as directly reflects against him#personally to me kallamar is a doom player due to the heavy associations with plague and sickness that doom has#bard of doom is easy but i can also easily see him having inverted into that class as opposed to being a natural bard of doom#which does imply a maid of life kallamar. i can see a lot of bishops having been inverted into their classes but also thats not like super -#-super important and a flat bard of doom works fine#shamura is a void player for sure wether they inverted into that from light is also a matter of conept preference#heket is a life player to me but in the ghosting doom way#leshy...... hmmmmmmm despite being utterly obsessed with him havent thought of him classpect wise i think i would look into rage/hope#im clinically insane i think

HOMESTUCK CLASSPECTS OF STORMLIGHT ARCHIVE CHARACTERS
In no particular order, some light Wind and Truth spoilers ahead
Szeth: Page of Mind. The most mind-coded character of all time. His arc entirely surrounds decisions, autonomy, and justice. He struggles with a lack of nuance when making decisions. If there’s one thing about pages it’s untapped potential; obviously Szeth has always been incredibly powerful in combat, but his ability to make strong moral decisions varies WILDLY across his past and the events of Wind and Truth.
Kaladin: Sylph of Breath. Breath is maybe a little trite of a pick, but it just works. He leads by example and finds equality important. He heals his own and other’s freedom, both literally (in freedom from slavery) and metaphorically (in his more recent therapy arc, healing people from a psychological lack of freedom imposed by mental struggles and harmful ideology)
Shallan: Bard of Heart. She literally has splinters. Her confused relationship to the self facilitates her capacity for violence, and her arc culminates with her literally killing (someone disguised as) an aspect of herself. The growth of her radiant powers allows her to manifest aspects of herself in combat. But, importantly, she’s passive in relation to her self, and it often dominates her.
Adolin: Knight of Blood. With Maya and the armorspren, he literally wields his friends as a weapon.
Taravangian: Mage of Mind. Decisions, autonomy, and justice are all important. Back when he was oscillating in intelligence, he was kinda dealing with splinters in a mind way rather than a heart way. Very active and controlling in his decisions.
Dalinar: Knight of Time. He unapologetically wields domination as a weapon and isn’t one to fuck around, but does so in service of others.
Galivar: Prince of Time. Same thing as Dalinar, but causing far more destruction and shortens peacetime.
Navani: Witch of Space. Patient and lacking in autonomy when she was with Galivar, and similarly patient and careful during the tower siege. Remains generally positive.
Jasnah: Seer of Light. This is a pretty clear one I think. Knowledge, etc.
The power of honor: Muse of Blood. Has an absolute commitment to social bonds, but is near completely passive for the events of the story.
The power of Odium: Lord of Rage. Emotion, rage, and maximal activity and involvement in the story.
Wit: Muse of Hope. Emotion is important to wit, and he projects a sort of surface-level confidence that I associate with hope. He’s concerned with reality and shaping it in fundamental ways, another hope trait. Generally stays behind the scenes, but is immensely powerful.
Sigzil: Knight of Light. He uses knowledge as a weapon.
Renarin: Heir of Doom. Doom inverts life, signifying his awkward relationship with his position in social hierarchy. He has prophesies of the future and misunderstood by society, both doom traits. He is generally passive but has huge plot importance.
Moash: Bard of Rage. He’s an angry guy.
Venli: Maid of Void. She served the voidbringers and facilitated void’s return, but not fully willingly. Complex and full of contradictions.

Zagreus from Hades classpect would be cool, i’ve heard he’s been classpected as a Prince of Blood, but i’d love your take..
And uh. If you can, Spamton
shelving zagreus since i've yet to finish hades, but from what i've heard prince of blood does sound fitting!
however, you have awoken a sleeping demon with that mention of spamton. i ran this one by my spamton-obsessed best friend to get his take, so...
Spamton G. Spamton is a Bard of Breath - one whose obsession with connection, stability and social status is outweighed by the destruction of his own freedom, 'til his self-destructive spiral induces an awakening wherein he starts embodying that freedom instead.
There's even an argument to make for him being an inverted Maid of Blood; given that if he was an auto dealer and a 'big shot' he'd be helping people make connections - but I'll have to let that thought marinate a little.

My boy Crimson please
First of all, I'm going to state- within the context of the Rhetorical Device Homestuck AU that these analyses imply, I'm not actually certain the ciblings would be players, but sapient sburb constructs something weird and fucked up and unintended in the design of the game happened to. Those things are denizens or something to that effect that're acting wildly off-script. I feel they're too aware of and fundamentally enmeshed with how the medium functions to be ordinary players, even if we assumed this were a case of a set of godtiers from a successful session, and they very much started as abstract beings before Becoming people-shaped.
But "Not Applicable" is a coward's answer and I won't be resorting to it.
There are a couple of obvious answers one might point to on the surface level, which seem compelling at first, but upon closer scrutiny, actually fall apart somewhere along the line- kind of suitably for Crimson's whole deal, really. I don't actually think Crimson is a Thief of Heart, or a Bard of Space.
Thief of Heart appears obvious- his whole thing is possessing people, isn't it? But while theres definitely something to be said about Crimson and his being decent at scoping out people's feelings and the 'heartlessness' and some of his arc fitting with the thief's journey- lacking in their aspect at first (vriska being raised by just about the worst parental figure you can picture losing the lottery of birth about as hard as you can, and meenah feeling suffocated by the inevitable responsibility of leadership she'd inherit, leaving her without a 'life' of her own) and spending much of their arc stealing it for themselves- his whole thing ISN'T possessing people, thats just something he does, something gods do. Prism possesses people too, it just functions a bit differently. I think attributing his possession as a heart thing is sort of akin to attributing the trolls' psychic powers to their classpects, like they can certainly thematically connect, but theyre not like. one and the same. Tavros doesnt talk to animals because hes a Page of Breath he talks to animals because thats the psychic power he inherited bc that happens with trolls. Not everything is analog to a sburb thing. This is a case of thinking too directly and literally to me.
Bard of Space, then? Similarly obvious-feeling. He sure is destructive and he only ever does anything through proxies and indirect orchestrated actions, and he's the god of dimensions, and he literally tried to collapse the multiverse during the constants ordeal, right? I think this is also thinking too literally. The keyword here is tried. He failed, because he did too good of a job setting up his system to stabilize the multiverse to successfully destroy it, as such if this were his aspect he'd be a pretty objective failure at it- which while it isnt necessarily a strong argument by itself, i feel runs counter to a lot of the narrative point with him, that he in his rebellion stumbled directly into giving an award-winning performance of the role he was born to play from Prism's perspective.
I think the truth lies in splitting the difference- (passive like bard, stealing class like thief) a Rogue of Space- and assuming an Inversion happened somewhere along the line. Heres where we have to get into the weird half-remembered classpect theory shit ive been trying to delve into as little as possible with these-
So, classpect inversion is a decidedly theoretical state which can be inferred but not proven wherein, under select circumstances and with the right catalyst, a player's classpect can. Well. Invert. Their class flips to its counterpart along the active/passive scale and their aspect flips to the opposite in their aspect pair in a surface level manner, not entirely unlike how I've described a destructive class appears like the opposite aspect of what they actually are. The common example of this happening in homestuck canon to my memory is Rose's cynical and bitter phase leading to her going Grimdark after learning that their session of the game cannot be won- she is ordinarily a Seer of Light, a passive scholar class which shares comprehensive knowledge of their aspect with their teammates, which concerns itself with fact (bringing knowledge to Light, as it were,) and fortune. She retains these traits- but they become transformed through context and hardship into something resembling their inverse when she becomes disillusioned and frustrated by her and her friends doomed quest and elects to try to find a way to change their fate through going off on her own to break the game open, destroy it's constructs, create holes in it's systems, Voids where there was once substance, manipulated by the gods of the Furthest Ring, the void around the game's construct. She is still a Seer of Light, a seeker and sharer of knowledge motivated by doing right by her team, but she's started acting less like herself, and more as an active class of the Void aspect might, in service to that ultimate purpose.
Now, for how this applies to Crimson. The theft classes, Rogue and Thief, are concerned with the redistribution of their aspect, the Thief to themself, the Rogue to their allies. A Space player is one concerned with the big picture as much as they are the literal contours of space and dimension and physics, concerned with recycling and creation, propagation, a passive aspect that 'hosts the stage until the curtains fall away.' 'How they do something is nearly as important as what they do. At their best steady, impartial, and creative, at their worst detached and vague.' As the extended zodiac puts it.
If one were to place all of your attention on what crimson does in season 3 and Grands, some of that may sound like a strange way to read crimson- but the context which both season one and the nccts provide... clarifies a lot of behavior. Circa season one, Crimson behaved... quite differently. Reserved and detached, quiet, distant. Crimson didn't pick fights and grovel for allies indiscriminately like he does by the time Orange rolls around- he sized up threats, made deliberate powerplays, chose his battles, gambled confidently for advantages. A creature of a grander and more complicated nature, taking on a loose-fitting facsimile of humanity until, with time, it grew more convincing, developed a flair for showmanship.
These deliberate qualities of his personality and MO are also represented in the systematic approach by which he's organized and automated his godly duties, distributing the responsibility for holding up the multiverse across his patrons, a point of pride and responsibility Crimson took more seriously than one might expect, given we learn this through him trying to burn it all down out of spite, given Cobalt's failure to do the same became such a point of contention between them. Crimson, when comfortable (or at least at a reduced level of stress) operates heavily by a principle of 'work smarter, not harder,' and these qualities also get a chance to shine in NCCT4 and Majestic, wherein he takes an organizational role in keeping the different brackets communicating enough to prevent any major issues that could've been created through Prism isolating them, and a pivotal role in evacuating the Majestic cast from their crumbling world. He's also a nurturer, good with kids and animals, and even when he's possessing others, he acts as an excuse, as an empowerment, he gives them a new and impossible to ignore place in the grand scheme of things for a while, by taking their place. Be honest with me. Look me in the eyes. If Crimson hadn't possessed his suit The Guy would be spiraltier, not in the Grand Kerfuffle fighting Chartreuse in the very last streamed episode of CPUK.
The shift, the temporary Inversion, came with his bitterness with his lot in life and his increasing desperation to 'beat' Prism at this pointless suffering game by hiding and fighting and making deals and improvising to stay alive and unharmed and claim some kind of control over his own life, to buy himself time, after being trapped in Crimsonaut and Cobalt's presence made him feel even more powerless, becoming more involved and more ruthless and more active in his pursuit of a metaphorical escape from the threat of having his form and his life destroyed. The constants arc- from an in-universe perspective a cryptic and disastrous cry for help/threat that almost caused a multiversal cataclysm, from a narrative perspective a massive futile waste of everyone's time because almost nothing actually happened.

decided to (somewhat) remake this gary sue of an oc (still a gary sue rn lol)
male fuchsiablood thief whos a loose cannon
edit: added his backstory that very much gives off gary-sue
his name is typhon korsan, a male fuchsiablood (could be a mutation, i forget if male fuchsiabloods are straight up not possible or if they're just rare). previous empress before him proved unfit and was overthrown (killed), resulting in a power imbalance amongst the highbloods. to repair this, he and another fuchsiablood were born (since only two can exist at a time).
the two would come of age to ultimately engage in battle, with one of them victorious and a claim to the throne. the other was left bloody and without one of his eyes. he was buried under a cliff, assumed dead.
his soon-to-be second lusus (again, gary-sue for a reason) would smell his blood and find him struggling to unbury himself. he was taken in by said lusus (a fuchsiablooded sea serpent) and hidden in a cave. he would spend his days wearing a lower-blood-colored symbol.
his name is directly based off of the mythological creature, typhon, an outrageous sea serpent. korsan means "pirate" in a different language (reference to his thief class). his sign is also sign of the hurricane, typhon being similar to typhoon.
during his time being raised by his first lusus (gl'bgolyb, i know it's very much gary-sue esque to have a fantroll with a canon lusus), he was coddled and protected, his rage being stifled, indirectly leading to his failure as a rising heir.
after being taken in by serpentdad, he was still coddled in a similar fashion, though he still hears gl'bgolyb's awful voice in his head, whether it's real or not is up to question. so he's a loose cannon.
he would pose as a violetblood (his identity surrounding skepticism / lies, like his aspect). after being taken in, he would sneak out and be involved in underground fighting and gambling, which he would renounce after an incident that left him shaken up.
his fetch modus would be something like darts, where he has to aim for the number that corresponds to the desired item (with his one eye). or i dunno. maybe something like smash-and-grab, a quick-moving sylladex that requires you to break shit to get the desired item? just spitballing here.
his strife specibus would be 2x3dentkind, like all fuchsiabloods, though starting out, he wouldn't use it to keep his identity safe.
he places inverted parentheses in between his O's to resemble his sign. uses proper capitalization. drops his quirk whenever he's enraged / berserk mode (rage aspect).
ex. S)o( he w)o(uld type like this.
his classpect would be a thief of rage. stealing rage can straight up be manipulative and stealing through rage is how he's able to keep his tendencies afloat. thieves usually start out struggling with their aspect, then learn to take it from their environment. being excessively coddled by serpentdad and gl'bgolyb's voice in his head would prevent him from feeling rage at first, which would lead to him seeking rage in his surroundings through underground fighting.
also he's directly responsible for the death of another fantroll of mine (brokat).

DDLC classpecting post
Monika: Seer of Light (knows info/relevance/importance for others)
I'm sure on Monika, she's the kind, passive, friendly advice giver, and her relevance/info/importance fixation is obvious. She definitely inverts to Witch of Void a little bit, but only because she's in a dire situation. When you sit down and talk to her, she's very focused on helping others with her knowledge
Sayori: Rogue of Life (takes growth/joy/health for others)
Sayori... I mean, all you have to do is read the bottle poem, and you will get it, i think. She chills in the background and gives her friends joy when they need it. However, as is common for Rogues, she also struggles with feeling like she's not needed. And like all Rogues, she is a treasure
Natsuki: Thief of Heart (takes emotion/identity/passion for self)
Natsuki being herself seems like some sort of radical action for her. She's definitely a rule-breaker type, and it's not immediately obvious just how beaten down by the world she really is. Thief is the class of "I need to get my needs met before anything else," and Natsuki seems willing to cross boundaries to get her needs met in some ways, with her hidden passions and such. She cares a lot about not judging people for their desires and interests, which i think is Heartful.
Yuri: Witch of Doom (changes cost/restriction/pain for self)
Yuri is so fixated on pain, which rings Doombound to me. Witches are troublemakers, and Yuri does enjoy doing things a bit differently with her poetry, showing others the beauty in darker things. She also changes herself for her own benefit, wearing something of a mask, which is a Witch thing, and um... well, her personality gets very exaggerated, but the idea of having someone to show her true self underneath that mask to is very romantic to her.

i swear the more i think about this the more likely inverted vriska in hs2 feels. like obviously not 90% likely or even 50% likely but tbh. 10 or even 20% likely. and as tiresome as i found inversion theory as a lens to analyse the original homestuck through i don't think i would even be mad if hs2 pulled it off really well for just one character. i was thinking about this last night about how enthusiastic so many people seem to be for hs2 to explore classpect further than homestuck did and how much i dont really want that LOL like partially because i dont care about classpect broadly speaking but also bc i feel like classes and aspects were part of the original homestuck's symbology and if you want hs2 to explain that symbology you're basically asking for hs2 to retroactively explain parts of homestuck. which i don't think is what something like hs2 should be for. hs2 should be able to do its own thing and move forward rather than forever lingering on the past and stuff like the ultimate self already gives them the opportunity to do exactly that. so what i really want is for hell tier vriska to be something new that expands upon what hs2 can be rather than on what homestuck already was. and ok this post went on longer than i thought so i want to reiterate i do not really think inverted vriska will happen nor is it something i necessarily want to happen but i just think it would not bother me if it did happen and the fact that it's something i can even consider COULD happen speaks to the magic potential hs2 has right now. and i think delivering an epic twist on one of the fandom's most long running, in/famous and unkillable theories is exactly the kind of thing that a pseudosequel like hs2 should be allowed to do. also the fact that it was literally lil calliope who put vriska here... like when you think about it does inversion theory not sound exactly like the kind of shit calliope would come up with

One positive thing that I want to say about the Alterfall AU you and your buddies have going on is that I really like how the characters' classpects are handled.
Most kidswap/bloodswap AUs I've seen just swap around aspects and classes of characters without much thought for what it means. Meanwhile, Alterfall assigns characters different classes based on how their new upbringings/environments would make them different while keeping their most innate qualities in mind. This is something akin to the nature vs nurture debate in developmental psychology and it also makes for an interesting interpretation of classpects that I find to make a lot of sense, with a character's class being determined by both internal and external factors while their aspect is determined mostly by internal factors that are harder to change.
One of the best examples I can think of for this is Rose Egbert. Her upbringing with Dad Egbert would make her more relaxed than that of her canon counterpart, who had to deal with an alcoholic mother and exchanges with her she thought of as passive-aggressive. However, it makes sense for her to still be a Light player despite her different upbringing as anything information-related seems to come naturally to her, even if that ends up being expressed differently, hence why she would have a different class rather than a different aspect. However, her class wouldn't be the same as John Egbert's as her innermost qualities surrounding her aspect wouldn't be expressed similarly to his, resulting in lot of her behaviour being different to both Rose Lalonde's and John Egbert's in ways that consider how her upbringing affected how she behaves.
(Sorry if my tangent doesn't make any sense, I'm trying my best to explain my point.)
TL;DR: I find Alterfall's interpretations and assignments of classpects to be very interesting.
thanks! i hate boring swap aus with no thought and i'm glad this isn't one :)
TL;DR: read inverted fate

okay, you do homestuck, right? ive got this project idea in the works. basically, its homestuck, but thematically inverted. i havent actually finished homestuck, but I made it a long way in, to around Dirk's Derse Coup. i have some questions if you dont mind.
first of all, ive observed thus far that Homestuck id about discarding yourself. characters gradually lose defining traits and get closer to the platonic ideals of their classpects. strife specibi seem to represent that which ails our heroes. to become a god, you must sacrifice your earthly waking body on a magic bed, succumbing to an endless sleep to live forever within a dream. for my version, I wanted to do the opposite, having characters become more of themselves instead of less, and kill their dreamselves to truly "wake up," but first i need to know if these observations are actually valid if you read the whole story, and more generally, how valid is this idea?
any help would be appreciated, thanks!
Now let me preface this by saying: You can do anything at all. You're not restricted by anything other than your own creativity, and largely speaking, so long as you think it's cool/works, any approach is valid. Similarly, Death of the Authro, yadda yadda, there's all manner of divergent readings on a text. So anything regarding personal projects is really largely up to the taste of the author.
That being said, if you're asking me on my take on this theme in the text of Homestuck, I'd say that while you've definitely noticed one of the Big Themes of Homestuck, I'd argue the way Homestuck goes about it is the inverse- Taking the 'Platonic Ideal' of a character, while some characters that achieve Ultimate Self status are in fact better off, namely the Sprites or those sidelined in some way, the loss of self that comes with it is largely showcased as a Bad Thing in the instance of those who already were more important/relevant to the main cast. Even then, and while intrinsically tied to their Classpect, the characters still have their own particular spins on the Classpects- A Classpect is too broad a concept to have a singular 'Platonic Ideal', just as often times the Platonic Ideal of their character can contain contradictions in the 'whole' of their existence!
Homestuck is, first and foremost, a Coming of Age story about Teens growing up into Adulthood, with all the pain, trauma and baggage of carrying the legacy of their world, and their families, on their shoulders, in one way or another. SBURB wants the characters to go through an Arc, develop, and become worthy gods, but as we see time and time again, this is not always necessarily in a character's best interest, and the idea of the Self, what makes you You, if you're still You as time passes, as your body changes, as you become something metaphysically completely detached from what you used to be, and how this affects your interpersonal relationships and your relationship to the world around you, is far more complex than simply 'discarding traits to become closer to your Classpect's Platonic Ideal'.
You succumb to sleep in the Quest Bed, but simultaneously, you do wake up as your Dream Self. Whether you take this as being taken by this Platonic Dream, or truly Waking Up to the true nature of your existence, that's a matter of taste and views. Likewise, this doesn't make the characters that didn't God Tier or die and become their Dream Self any less likely to undergo changes to their Self and 'wake up' in their own right.
It's a complex story! It tackles a lot of themes of the self, agency, growing up and the like, and that is always messy. Some are happier becoming something else. Some cling to what they were. Some were always hiding what they truly were. Some are still figuring out. And that's fine. The metaphysics of SBURB are a device to explore the different ways all of this affects the characters! So the most important thing I'd say is less the validity of the observation in regards to an Inverted Version of Homestuck based on your views, and more:
How would this scenario affect the characters differently, and what new hurdles/feelings/predicaments would this create in their development and the story?
