People get so defensive about when you are critical of certain kinks and how reenactment of abuse that u once lived thru (whether it be sexual,emotional or physical) can make your healing worse, it strengthens those neural connections, its addictive as hell but often feels horrible for the survivor reenacting these scenarios.

I am watching "My Happy Marriage" for the first time and I really want to like it but it's hard to get past the amateur level writing, and the unnecessary magical element. As a period romance it also seems to lack any adherence to the time period it chose, and it's a shame cuz I think it would be far more interesting if it solved it's drama by adhering to the societal rules surrounding marriage and laws at the time.

I'm powering through it but it feels like I'm reading a poorly researched fanfic.

Hmmmmmm....... So what does it say about Giovanni when he says that he has this philosophy of seeing Pokemon only as tools and as less than human, even having the gall to tell this to a Psychic-typed Pokemon that clearly had human DNA mixed in there for good measure and can read and explode his brain at any moment......... And yet he treats Meowth from the TRio just as he would any other person. Meowth is very clearly equals to Jessie and James, and in fact, he may even outrank the two of them in Giovanni's mind because he's clearly the best talker and probably the smartest one out of the three!!! Like, Giovanni is Meowth's boss. Not like Meowth's master or trainer or anything. His boss. Giovanni actually employs this talking cat. And even though Meowth is this one-of-a-kind Pokemon that taught himself how to talk and walk like a human and is one of the very very few Pokemon that can clearly communicate with all humans through non-psychic means... Giovanni treats this incredibly valuable and useful Pokemon- this possibly priceless and endlessly interesting and pragmatic tool... And treats him equally as poorly as any other Team Rocket goon, Jessie and James included!!!

Like... This says SOMETHING about the kind of person that Giovanni is. Meowth often forgets that he's a Pokemon. Does Giovanni forget that too? For all of Giovanni's talk about how humans are better than Pokemon and that Pokemon are tools to be exploited... His actions don't exactly say that. At least not consistently.

I feel like I should clarify bc this is tumblr- I do entertain Kepler more than with just fetch and backyard time. Sometimes that’s all I can manage in a day, but we’ll do other activities too (puzzle feeders, interactive toys, hikes, “scavenger hunts”, etc). He still gets into things on occasion, and if I don’t play with him enough he’ll start bothering Dave, but because of his high energy he is thankfully incredibly easy to entertain. Everything is a toy to him, it’s great.

Bengals are high energy and require a differnt approach than domestic shorthairs, but it rubs me the wrong way to see people suggest that you shouldn’t get a bengal (or siamese, or osh) because of their high energy. The energy level was a selling point to me because I wanted a hiking buddy, and I don’t really think it’s very productive to tell people they shouldn’t get a pet because of the attention they might require. People get border collies and huskies for the same reason, so what’s wrong with a bengal or siamese? It’s definitely important to let people know that bengals are high energy and require more attention than some pets, but they aren’t going to burn down your house if you don’t give them hours of wand-toy play sessions each day. Enrichment for them doesn’t need to be something that is draining to you, and you don’t need to be on call for entertaining your cat 24/7, either.

I have depression. I also work full time. Sometimes it’s all I can do to drag myself to work, then climb back into bed as soon as I’m done. And you know what? Kepler is fine.
