Comparative Efficacy of Tocotrienol and Tocopherol for their Anti Diabetic Effects
Comparative Efficacy of Tocotrienol and Tocopherol for their Anti Diabetic Effects in Biomedical Journal of Scientific & Technical Research
he antioxidant and lipid soluble vitamin E have eight compounds i.e α-, β-, γ-, δ-tocopherols and α-, β-, γ-, δ-tocotrienols. The main source for the synthesis of these compounds is by photosynthetic organisms like cyanobacteria, plants, algae, fungi, sponges, corals, and tunicate. However, the foremost natural source of both these compounds the oily fraction of nuts, oil seeds, almond oil, olive oil, rapeseed oil, sunflower oil, linseed oil, corn oil, and soybean oil. The source of tocotrienols, can be rice bran and palm oil, barley, oats, wheat germ, maize, hazelnuts, and in annatto oil. The highlighted sources for α-tocopherol and γ-tocopherol are sesame, soybeans, and corn oil. Despite having similar structure and antioxidant properties, these isoforms differ in their bioavailability and metabolism [1]. The other difference is the amount of saturation for hydrophobic tridecyl chain. Tocopherols have saturated phytyl tails whereas tocotrienols have unsaturated isoprenoid side chain with three double bonds [2].

The Malachite Wen-Myeloid Sarcoma- Crimson Publishers
The Malachite Wen-Myeloid Sarcoma- Crimson Publishers
Contingent to World Health Organization (WHO) classification, myeloid sarcoma is denominated as a tumefaction comprised of myeloblasts amalgamated at an anatomical site divergent from the bone marrow which engenders distortion of normal tissue architecture. Generally, myeloid sarcoma is contemplated to be equivalent to and concurrent with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), although lesions may occur in isolation. Additionally designated as granulocytic sarcoma, chloroma or extramedullary myeloid tumour, myeloid sarcoma categorically represents as a distinct tumefaction associated with architectural effacement of circumscribing soft tissue. Myeloid sarcoma may emerge as a de novo lesion or manifest as therapy related myeloid neoplasm or as disease progression within myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN), myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) or myelodysplastic / myeloproliferative neoplasm (MDS / MPN). In contrast, leukaemia cutis (LC) is a nonspecific terminology adopted to describe cutaneous infiltration of neoplastic leukocytes which configure as mature or immature myeloid or lymphoid cellular components. Nevertheless, as per WHO classification criterion, leukaemia cutis remains nonequivalent to myeloid sarcoma [1,2]. Leukaemia cutis may emerge in subjects delineating non acute myeloid leukaemia (non-AML), Myeloproliferative Neoplasm (MPN), Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) or Myelodysplastic/ Myeloproliferative neoplasm (MDS / MPN) as Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukemia (CMML).

Polyurethane: A Versatile Scaffold for Biomedical Applications_Crimson Publishers
Abstract:
Polyurethanes (PUs) are one of the most versatile and explored polymeric materials in which the urethane groups are the major repeating unit and can be synthesized by reacting di or polyisocyanates (hard segments) with di or polyols (soft segments) via catalyzed polymerization process [1]. A broad range of PU with variety of physical and mechanical properties can be tuned just by changing the ratio of soft and hard segments [2]. Thus, it consists of two phase structure in which the hard segments are embedded into the soft segments. Using different ratios of hard/soft segments, it can be fabricated according to their need of applications in rubber, fibers, films, paints, coatings, elastomers, foams, gels etc. [3] These many forms of PUs available to date are simple improvements of the invention of Dr. Otto Bayer and his coworkers in the 1930s [4]. The continuous improvements in the polyurethane made them a suitable and promising material for the incorporation in widespread applications. For the decades, it has been used in the field of biomedical due to their well-known properties such as good durability, high tensile strength, fatigue resistance, excellent biodegradability and biocompatibility [5]. Among the polymers like, silicone, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene and poly tetra fluoro ethylene (PTFE), PUs are widely used in medical application due to their superior bio and hemo compatibility. On account of this very characteristic property, they have extensively been used in catheters, heart valves, vascular grafts, prostheses and blood coagulating devices [6].
It has also been noticed that PUs are best suitable candidates for the scaffolds in tissue engineering, hydro gels, shape memory devices, nontoxic implants, various cardiovascular repair, wound healing and bone regenerations [7]. On account of this, the present review summarizes the chemistry of polyurethane, their historical background and considering factors for biomedical application. Moreover, their biomedical application in the field of tissue engineering and drug delivery has also been discussed.

"A new study evaluated a low-cost yet effective way to combat bacterial resistance using curcumin–the natural yellow plant compound in turmeric.
In 2017, a tragic death in a Nevada hospital was linked to a new strain of bacteria that had developed a resistance to 26 different antibiotics. Called ‘superbugs’, such antibiotic-resistant bacteria (including MRSA) remains a pressing public health threat.
Now researchers at Texas A&M University have shown that curcumin, the compound that gives turmeric its characteristic bright yellow color, can be used to reduce this antibiotic resistance.
They showed that when curcumin is intentionally given to bacteria as food, and then activated by light, it can trigger deleterious reactions within these microbes, eventually killing them. They demonstrated that this process reduces the number of antibiotic-resistant strains and renders conventional antibiotics effective again.
The results of the study were published this week in the journal Scientific Reports.
“We need alternative ways to either kill the superbugs or find a novel way to modify natural processes within the bacteria so that antibiotics start to act again,” said Dr. Vanderlei Bagnato, professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and senior author on the study.
Photodynamic inactivation, a technique that has shown promise in combating bacterial resistance, uses light and light-sensitive molecules, called photosensitizers, to produce reactive oxygen species that can kill microorganisms by disrupting their metabolic processes.
In the new experiments, the team used curcumin, which is also a natural food for bacteria. They tested this technique on strains of Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) that are resistant to amoxicillin, erythromycin, and gentamicin.
The researchers exposed the bacteria to many cycles of light exposure and then compared the minimum concentration of antibiotics needed to kill the bacteria after light exposure versus those that did not get light exposure.
“When we have a mixed population of bacteria where some are resistant, we can use photodynamic inactivation to narrow the bacterial distribution, leaving behind strains that are more or less similar in their response to antibiotics,” Bagnato told Texas A&M News.
“It’s much easier now to predict the precise antibiotic dose needed to remove the infection.”
MORE PROGRESS ON SUPERBUGS: • The Humble Potato Could Hold Key to Beating Hospital Superbugs and Crop Diseases • Compounds in Amber Could Help Fight Drug-Resistant Bacteria Superbugs, Say Scientists • When Antibiotics Failed, She Found a Natural Enemy of the Superbug to Save Husband’s Life
The team noted that photodynamic inactivation using curcumin has tremendous potential as an adjuvant or additional therapy with antibiotics for diseases, like pneumonia, caused by antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
“Photodynamic inactivation offers a cost-effective treatment option, which is crucial for reducing medical expenses not only in developing countries but also in the United States,” said Dr. Vladislav Yakovlev, professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and author on the study..."

master the subjects you hate: a how-to guide (from someone who has done it) ˖ ࣪ ·͜·♡ 𝜗𝜚˚ ༘ ೀ⋆。 📔🎀

have you ever had that one subject which has always been your problem subject? where every time you study it or sit in class and see others succeeding effortlessly, all you find yourself wishing is that you could just master it and move on with your life?
well, this was me my entire life, up until a few years ago. the dreaded subject? mathematics. but instead of suffering endlessly under the torture of its reign over me - I decided to take a different approach. what if i could master it? no longer have it haunt my shoulder in life?
well, that's exactly what i did.
and now? i'm a biomedical engineering major.
okay, okay. am i saying you will now become a famous philosopher, writer, mathematician, historian, artist, etc. by following these tips? of course not. it can happen though. or at minimum, that subject won't be an enormous pain in your side anymore. which is very much worth it, in my opinion <3

♡ step 1: get clear about your goals.
first, you need to outline how you envision yourself. back when I was in grade 10, there was a moment when I realized just how annoyed I was with not understanding math. i took out my journal and started writing out my goals for the subject. what did I want? i wanted to be able to solve problems effortlessly and get my homework done. i wanted to truly understand the subject - not just enough to finish the homework but enough that I could write any test and ace it.
back when i changed my study game, it was all during covid, when we all went online during school. i was in grade 9, and with those last few months of school online and with the summer, I decided to change my life.
if anyone remembers 2020/2021, im sure you remember the craze over bullet journalling. that's what I used for all this. i used it to plan out my days, which let to me planning out different things I visualized myself as I changed my life, and that included mastering my subjects and becoming that studious it girl.
write out these goals. figure out exactly what you want. make a vision board, use Pinterest, use your notes app. figure out who you want to be.

♡ step 2: romanticize (but not in the way you think).
if you've made it this far, you may be like "this is such generic advice for general goal planning. what is so revolutionary about journalling ?" stick with me. trust. this is the step that revolutionized my study game. it made me go from someone considered a pretty good student to someone that teachers would talk about, someone who was not just pretty good but excellent.
so what did i do? its not "romanticize" the way everyone uses the word these days, exactly. and its not really a very pretty or aesthetic method. but it works.
see everything with a different lens.
take math, for example. the way i always viewed the subject was basically just something I would probably never understand, something I just wasn't gifted in. i was always a really good writer, remember? i was going to do a bachelor of arts in psychology and go to med school and be a doctor. so math? wasn't my thing. i never understood it the way my friends seemed to so effortlessly do. but that still bothered me greatly.
and it had to change.
instead of viewing it as this enigma, I took a more pragmatic approach. what if I simply broke every single concept down to its most simple parts? and what if... i changed the narrative? instead of it being hard, difficult, not naturally gifted at, impossible... what if I just pretended I loved everything?
i call this "romanticizing", or more accurately probably, gaslighting. i kept telling myself over and over and over again that I loved this subject. specifically, I repeated these a million times and deliberately in my head:
✧ i love math so much!!!!
✧ math has and always comes so naturally to me
✧ math is my favourite subject
✧ math is actually really easy, all I have to do is break down the topics
✧ i can understand every single thing I learn
✧ i am a math prodigy
years later, manifestation and the law of affirmation really started gaining traction in social media. but its funny, I accidentally invented this strategy for myself when I was 15. I didn't even know what manifestation was; I just decided that I wanted to no longer struggle. and look, here's an important fact to remember: I did not do all of this so I could become an engineer. i literally wanted to be a doctor, and becoming an engineer was a funny side-effect of becoming so good at math and wanting to pursue it more than other subjects. with this method, which I still use, I actually, genuinely fell in love. It taught me where my true interests lie.
some other essential things i did?
✧ inspire myself with history and context. i always loved history and research. if I wanted to inspire myself into a topic, I researched the history behind the mathematical subject. for example, for trig, I researched where the original trig functions, cosine, sine and tangent came from, learning the history behind mathematics and Egypt. and let me tell you, I never forgot my trig functions after that.
✧ ask the teacher for help every single time I had even the smallest, most insignificant question. and if still no good answer i google, and then, only then, do i ask my friends for help. teachers are literally paid to help you. so many students forget this and get intimidated. don't let this be you. what sets top and stellar students apart is doing uncomfortable things. i literally don't care if you sit with the teacher the entire class, lunch, after school etc to understand that topic. you do what needs to be done.
✧ master every single small detail. i started realizing that all the small details of misunderstanding were what were hindering my understanding. you know when you do a problem and there's this baby question you have that stops your understanding at like 85% instead of 100%, and you're too lazy to ask the teacher or a friend or you just don't get a good answer and drop it? don't do this. i became obsessive about ensuring I understood a concept literally 110% before moving on. the history research helped so much with this. i remember even for chemistry, I would read university-level pages on topics so by the time the test came, I would be such a master at the topic I felt like I could teach the teacher, or write and mark the test. true understanding and passion made me not just a master of a topic but genuinely intelligent and able to come up with my own interpretations, opinions and shortcuts in my subjects. you would think opinions and interpretations are only in the arts. you would be mistaken.
now this point all might be a little controversial since it may seem a little obsessive and time-consuming, but anything worth it takes resources. and I never said it was a pretty method. but it does work.
✧ stopped viewing teachers in a negative light. you know how when you have a teacher and everyone says, "this is the worst teacher ever, you will hate them" or "I feel so bad for you, no one has ever passed in their class"? danger, danger, danger. never let others form opinions for you. i started ignoring absolutely every single thing a person said about a teacher. i started gaslighting myself into beliveivg every single teacher was amazing and would help me and I have no issues with them whatsoever. now of course this doesn't count if there is a serious issue with a teacher where they are doing things that need to be reported. I'm talking about when everyone hates a teacher for being a hard marker or a bad explainer. don't view your teachers in that way. and it won't make you a teacher's pet, trust me. after I did this, teacher's were so warm towards me and I really became memorable to them, especially since I would ask so many questions (helpful for letters of reccomendation). i remember there was this one teacher we had where literally no one, in all his years of teaching, would ever get more than a 60% on a paper. everyone hated this man. but I focused on what he wanted from us: and delivered. which no one ever did. i realized he was pushing us to write the best papers we ever could. and I got 100s in his class. people literally had no idea how I did it. i simply smiled. and my writing skills after being taught by him and listening? insane.

♡ step 3: watch your life change.
okay, here's the part where things really come together. once you start with one subject, watch the effect spread to your other ones. once i mastered math, you better believe i did the same thing with physics. this subject especially i ignored everyone's perceptions and focused on myself and my own learning. i didn't care what other's thought at all. this expanded to chemistry, and biology.
what was interesting what its effect on english and history. i mentioned that i was already a pretty decent writer and was doing well in these subjects. but all of this? i subconsciously started applying these principals to these subjects, too. it made me a phenomenal writer. and i started reading more, more advanced books, asking more questions, thinking more deeply, writing more complexly, all applying these principals.
♡ conclusions.
once you become passionate about something, replace negative thoughts/phrases with positive ones, watch your life change. that passion? it will show you what you are actually, truly interested in. i was always an ambitious child, i always wanted to be a doctor. not because my parents wanted me to but because i had an interest in medicine, though i was always on the fence about dealing with patients everyday since its not really my thing exactly. but once i started realizing i am the master of my fate, and i can master anything i want, i realized that i was very interested, talented and passionate about the intersection of technology and medicine. i went from ambitious.... to driven, sharp, laser-focused, a force to be reckoned with.
i could talk endlessly about this. its something i am very proud of and has genuinely, sincerely changed my life.
if you have any questions, let me know below. and if you want to learn more about biomedical engineering, let me know and i will consider making a separate post about it ! thanks for reading <3

Inheritance? Taken Care Of

PAIRING: Ada Wong x fem reader
WARNINGS: RE4r Ada, post-Spain, parentified daughter r, researcher r, morally gray r, mommy issues, psychological drama, oldest daughter core r and because this piece speaks to me since I'm the eldest daughter of the Asian household–this is self-indulgent oops, emotional neglect, workaholic, unhealthy coping, power play, unethical sciences oops, soft dom Ada, emotional manipulation, possessive Ada, unprotected sex, soft to rough sex, raw sex, biting, marking, marathon sex, multiple orgasms, overstimulation and that's about it, I think.
SYNOPSIS: Your mother shaped you into the perfect scientist–brilliant, disciplined, and drowning in her legacy. Even in death, her voice haunts you. Then came Ada Wong. A deal. A distraction. A mistake. Now, she watches you unravel, unwilling to let you go. After all, everything must be taken care of.
MEN, MINORS DNI

"Everything must be taken care of, before you have any respite."
Heavy are the words of your mother–a renowned biomedical scientist in her time before she met her unfortunate end in Raccoon City.
Your mother took you to work with her at a young age, showing you the ins and outs of the lab, her research, her progress, and her data the moment you were finally capable of comprehension. She made you take STEM as a pre-med course, specifically biochemical engineering. With her name known across the world, you were given a full ride to a scholarship at the most prestigious universities in the city.
It didn't take long for your peers and mentors to realize you have the same talent and intelligence as your mother.
It felt empowering, of course.
You were saving lives, just like your mother, and the talent too!
Indeed, saving lives at the expense of ruining your own.
What a passionate way to die.
The world suddenly fell on your shoulders when the news of your mother not making it during the infamous Raccoon City incident made it to you–just days after you finished your internship with one of her trusted colleagues as your mentor–and her attorney informed you that she had left all of her assets in your care.
That includes her unfinished research manuscript, her lab notes, medical journals, and unorganized data.
Oh, what do you do?
Your knees wobbled as you set foot into her office, where most of her things were moved with the help of the family attorney and her trusted friends. Your thoughts raced, causing your forehead to heat up as you force yourself to go through her things just to know where to start–how to start.
Your mother was overly critical of you–she had a reputation to keep. Low grades and a bad track record were a sign of failure in her eyes, and in return, she'd lecture and vent to you about her frustrations in the lab.
Oh, you're having a difficult time at a single subject? What more if you're finally in my shoes, hm?
Tired? Ridiculous! Everything must be accounted for–must be taken care of, even if it meant dragging your body to work.
Even if it meant dragging your body to work.
Her reminders loom over you like a suffocating ghost. Before you can even grieve her passing–you threw yourself to work, just like your mother did; refining vaccines, studying new virus samples (those that your hired men can acquire), and testing for results.
But instead of the empowerment that surged in you before–it feels empty. The achievement that you longed for felt nothing like a chore–and your mother's praises are faint–mixing with the practiced awe of your investors and fellow scientists.
Most of your work proved effective against the virus—so much so that it became highly sought after by the government and private companies alike.
And a few questionable individuals too.
That includes a mercenary who disguised herself as one of the interns in your lab. You caught her scanning a copy of your research for the cure and possible enhancement of the G-virus.
You put her in for questioning–and instead of throwing her to the authorities, you made a transactional relationship with her; you'd pay her to take samples of the virus from her different missions and make a cure, in return, she'd get double the money from different employers.
At first, it was simple. Cold. Uncomplicated.
Ada delivered the virus samples, you worked on the cure, and both of you pretended it was just another business arrangement.
It worked—until it didn’t.
Somewhere along the line, the conversations became longer. The silences became heavier. She started sticking around after a job was done, lingering in the dim glow of your lab, watching you work like she had something else to say but never did.
You ignored it.
She never pried, never asked why you threw yourself into your work the way you did. But the way she watched you—like she saw straight through the walls you built—was unsettling.
You should have known better.
Because when the time came—when she had to choose between you and the people who paid her—she chose you.
That was the first time you realized that, despite everything, you weren’t the only one losing themselves in this arrangement.
And that changed everything.

A small smile graces your lips as a message from Ada glares from your screen.
I'm on my way back with the Amber.
Excellent.
"I'm sure Wesker was less than pleased when you change coarse with the Amber." You mused, days after Ada came back with the said item. The older girl's lips morph to a faint smile as she stands next to you, her arms crossed against her firm chest.
"Wesker has a lot of resources," She turns her head in your direction and tilts her head to the side, "I'm sure he can get new samples elsewhere."
You hum as you examine the stone, "Exquisite," You tear your eyes from the Amber and look at Ada. "Thank you."
"My pleasure, doll." The short-haired woman smirks, "I'll leave you to your work–I know you hate being delayed."
"You know me too well," Your tone cool as Ada leaves the room. On cue, your lips flatten into a line as the mirth swims away from your eyes, becoming dull–empty.
Wonderful. Another chore.
In you're need to start planning your next steps, you fail to notice Ada–who is standing at the entrance of your study–eyes carefully studying your change of expression before walking down the halls of the facility.
Without wasting time–you and your team of proficient biomedical scientist began brainstorming the stone–conducting tests among tests and recording your findings without fail–the Amber held so much potential: a superior form of the Plaga. It didn't take a while for it to become the center of your focus, eating and sleeping became an option–you have so much to work with.
Ada has been observing you, the way your food comes back untouched, your sleep patterns–heck, she even woke up with you not beside her.
And if Ada didn't know any better–have you gotten thinner?
Her brows pinch together–and just as it quickly came, it disappeared.
You tell your team to rest–but you can't apply the same to yourself.
Everything must be taken care of, before you have any respite.
With heavy eyes and a blank face, you type away new data recorded from today's findings. Your wrist feels numb, and your body weighed like lead as your eyes shift from one screen to the next.
Then a familiar, feminine, velvety voice fills your cold, sterile lab.
"It's 4:37 AM,"
Automatically, your brows arch and you swivel your chair to the owner of the voice. There stood Ada, wearing a white-button up shirt and beige tapered trousers.
"And?" You mused.
"You're supposed to be sleeping next to me."
Your eyes scan her outfit, "What an odd set of pajamas." You comment with a small smile. A hum reverberates form Ada's chest, her eyes smoothly move to your desk.
"And I see that you didn't touch your food. Again." Her eyes narrow as she takes slow, measured steps towards you. Pink blossoms in your cheeks–nothing extravagant—just a simple meal. You don’t need to ask who left it.
"You're making a habit of watching me, Ada." You mutter, looking away from the older woman. She smirks, using one hand to grasp your chin, coaxing you to look at her.
"Hard not to when you're wasting away."
"I have work..." You trailed off as her expression sharpens–stern.
"And you'll be no use to anyone if you collapse." She lets go of your jaw and takes the fork, stabbing the meat with it before handing it to you. "Eat, doll."
You blink at her, "But–"
She raises a brow.
The air between you hums with tension, silent yet deafening. Ada doesn't waver, her hand steady as she holds out the fork. You recognize the challenge in her gaze—one she doesn’t need to voice. You could ignore her. Dismiss her with a sharp remark and go back to your research. That’s what you would have done before.
But the weight of her stare is different this time.
Reluctantly, you take the fork from her fingers, avoiding her gaze as you take one bite. Then another. The taste is nothing special, but the way Ada leans against the desk, arms crossed, watching you with quiet satisfaction–it was almost irritating.
"Happy?"
The former smirks, but there's a mellow gleam in her eyes. "Ecstatic."
She doesn’t push you to eat more. Doesn’t hover or pry. Just lets you go at your own pace before pushing off the desk.
"Sleep after you're done eating."
A scoff leaves your lips. "I have work to do."
Ada tilts her head, studying you with something unreadable. "Right. Of course you do."
She turns, walking toward the exit—but pauses at the doorway. Over her shoulder, she adds, "Don’t make me force you."
And then she’s gone.

Days pass. Weeks.
Ada watches. She doesn’t hover, doesn’t nag—but she sees everything.
The untouched meals. The way your hands shake slightly when you reach for a pen. The increasing number of empty coffee cups cluttering your desk. The dark circles under your eyes, like shadows carved into your skin.
You're burning out, and you don’t even notice.
Ada does.
She notices when your fingers tremble as you type. When you blink a second too long, as if fighting the urge to collapse on the spot. She notices when you stand too fast, your vision tilting, and you grip the edge of the desk just to steady yourself.
And then, one night, it happens.
You don’t remember falling—only the sharp sensation of your knees hitting the floor, the rush of dizziness swallowing you whole. A sound escapes your lips, something between a gasp and a curse, but before your body can fully crumple—
Ada is there.
Lithe arms catch you before you hit the cold tile. A firm grip steadies you and through the haze clouding your vision, you hear her voice, lower than usual.
"That's enough."
Your head is spinning. You don’t fight when Ada pulls you up, guiding you towards the couch in the corner of your study. You’re not sure when she sat down, only that you’re suddenly leaning against her, the warmth of her presence pressing into your side.
You hate how comforting it feels.
"You’re overworking yourself," Ada states, voice unreadable.
You huff, though it lacks bite. "That’s nothing new."
Ada is silent for a moment, then:
"This isn’t just about the research, is it?"
Your breath catches.
She’s too close. Not physically—though, yes, she is—but she’s too close to seeing through you. Through the carefully constructed walls, through the weight of your mother’s expectations still coiled around your throat like a noose.
Ada exhales, her voice softer than before. "You can’t outrun her."
Your fingers clench into the fabric of your sleeves. You don't answer.
Ada doesn't push.
She simply sits there, allowing the silence to settle—offering her presence without demand. Without pressure.
Ada doesn't move for a while. Neither do you.
The silence isn’t uncomfortable, but it’s heavy. You can feel her presence—steady, unmoving—like a quiet force refusing to let you spiral any further.
You close your eyes for just a second. Just a second.
And then—
You wake up.
The dim glow of your study lamps is gone, replaced by the soft flicker of the emergency lights. The air is still. Quiet. The weight against your back is warm, solid—Ada.
You realize with slow clarity that you’ve fallen asleep against her.
Your mind is sluggish, torn between the rare, unfamiliar comfort of rest and the immediate need to get back to work. You shift slightly, only for Ada’s arm—wrapped loosely around your waist—to tighten.
"Don’t even think about it."
Her voice is smooth, carrying no room for argument. You tilt your head just enough to catch a glimpse of her—eyes closed, looking impossibly at ease, as if she had all the time in the world.
"How long was I out?" you murmur.
Ada hums, opening one eye. "Longer than you usually allow yourself. Not long enough."
A flicker of annoyance sparks in your chest. "I don’t have time for—"
Ada clicks her tongue, and suddenly, she’s shifting—her arm unwinding from you as she gracefully rises to her feet. The warmth you didn’t realize you were clinging to vanishes.
Fine. If she’s going to leave, that’s—
Your thoughts halt when Ada leans down, placing her hands on the couch—caging you in.
"You’re coming with me," she says, voice smooth as silk but carrying an edge that dares you to refuse.
Your brows furrow. "Excuse me?"
Ada tilts her head, smirking slightly. "You heard me."
She grabs your wrist—not tightly, but firmly—and pulls you up before you can protest. Your legs, still weak from exhaustion, stumble slightly, and Ada steadies you without effort.
"Ada—"
"You need air," she interrupts, her tone final. "A break. And before you start whining about time, I already handled the lab reports for the night. Your little research team will survive without you for a few hours."
You blink. "You—what?"
Ada smirks, guiding you toward the door. "I have my ways."
You stare at her, skepticism laced with something else—something almost like reluctant gratitude.
Ada catches it. Of course she does.
She simply tilts her head toward the exit. "Let’s go, doll."
For once, you don’t fight her.
The low hum of the car engine is the only sound between you. The city lights flicker past, painting streaks of gold and red across the tinted windows.
Ada drives without hurry, one hand on the wheel, the other resting lazily against the gear shift. She hasn’t said much since she pulled you out of the lab, but she doesn’t need to.
You exhale, leaning against the cool glass. "Where are we going?"
Ada glances at you from the corner of her eye, smirking. "Somewhere you can’t escape from."
Your lips twitch. "That so?"
"Mm." She shifts gears smoothly. "You need rest. I’m making sure you get it."
You huff, but there’s no real bite behind it. Maybe a part of you is too tired to fight.
Or maybe a part of you wants to be taken care of for once.

The night air is cool against your skin, but the warmth pressed against your back is unmistakable. Ada.
You don’t remember how she convinced you to stop working for the night, or how you ended up lying in bed with her, tangled in soft sheets. All you know is that her arms are around you, one resting against your stomach, the other tucked under the pillow you share.
Her breath fans against your neck—slow, steady. Unlike you, she seems completely at ease.
You shift slightly, and Ada’s hold tightens just enough to keep you from slipping away.
"You’re still tense," she murmurs, voice low, husky from the quiet.
You scoff. "Habit."
"Bad one," Ada counters, her lips barely brushing your shoulder. "I can think of better ways to relieve stress."
Her fingers trail down your arm, featherlight, before slipping beneath the hem of your shirt. Your breath catches as her fingertips graze your skin, drawing slow, deliberate patterns along your waist.
"Ada—"
"Hm?" Her tone is innocent, but the way her nails drag lightly against your skin is anything but.
You turn your head slightly, just enough to catch the mischievous glint in her eyes.
"You planned this," you accuse.
Ada smirks. "Would you have stopped me if I did?"
You hate how easily she gets under your skin—how the warmth of her touch makes your body betray you.
The way her lips graze the curve of your jaw—soft, teasing—before she bites down just enough to make you shiver.
You don’t answer.
You don’t need to.
Because when Ada shifts, rolling you onto your back, and pins you beneath her with that knowing smirk—you’re already hers for the night.
Your breath hitches as Ada's hips press flush against you, clothes strewn across the floor . Her fingers dance along your torso, grazing your ribs, the. lower; teasing.
"You're so tense," She murmurs, her lips brushing against the shell of your ear. "Let me fix that."
She shifts, her grip firm as she tilts your hips just enough for her to roll against you, slow, deliberate. Heat coils low in your stomach, and you barely suppress a gasp as her cock rubs snuggly against your walls. Your lover chuckles, voice rich in amusement. "See? You don't have to do anything, doll. Just let me do the work."
Your body betrays you, instinctively meeting her hips, craving more.
"That's my girl," She whispers, her voice dark, dripping with satisfaction. Her hands tightens on your hips, and you fele her smirk against your skin.
"Let's see just how much you can take."
She guides your hips, both of you gasping as her pace is agonizingly slow. The tension pulls taut. Deliberate, controlled, taking her time as she fucks you, her movements slow and deep.
Each movement makes pleasure coil tighter and tighter in your core, and Ada knows it. She watches you unravel beneath her, eyes locked on your every reaction. "You love this, don't you?" She taunts, rolling her hips just right, pulling a broken moan from your lips. "Being under me like this, being taken."
Your body trembles, eyes rolling back as your hands grip at her back, nails scratching along her skin as the pleasure builds to unbearable levels.
"Baby–please," You whimper, desperate, your body arching into hers.
The older girl chuckles, her hands sliding up your thighs, gripping your waist as she picks up the pace, thrusting into you with more force, driving deeper. The cacophony of your moans and her groans mixes with the creaks and whines of the bed.
"Say it," She demands, lips brushing against your ear. "Tell me you're mine."
"Yours," You gasp, barely able to breathe. "I'm yours, Ada."
She groans, her rhythm turning rougher, faster, chasing her own release as she takes you apart, the veins on the ridges of her cock rubbing deliciously against your walls while the tip kisses your cervix, eliciting a yelp from you. Pleasure crashes over you, your entire body tensing, and Ada drives into you, pushing you past your limit–until you're crying out her name, clinging to her as waves of euphoria pulse through you.
Ada follows soon after, burying herself deep, her own release hitting as she moans against your throat, her fingers digging into your hips, holding you still as ropes of cum floods your walls, some even oozing out of your folds and down to the sheets. She watches the way you tremble, her smirk returns as she leans down, pressing a lingering kiss against your lips.
"Good girl,"
And just like that, you knew–she isn't done with you yet.
Your body trembles, broken moans and whimpers leave your lips, legs weak and spread open, slick with heat and sweat. She's still inside you, half-hard, twitching against your walls. Your cry out, nails dragging down her back, feeling the way she stretches you all over again, this time with less restraint.
"That's it," She moans lowly, thrusting her hips until there's nowhere left to go. "Take all of me, pretty girl. Just like before."
The ecstasy is almost too much–your pussy still sensitive from the first round but Ada doesn't slow down.
Plap, plap, plap, plap!
The bed creaks, the sound of skin against skin filling the room, and all you can do is cling to her, let her take everything she wants from you. "Mine," She breathes into your ear, her voice dripping with possession.
Your moans swallowed by her kisses as she pounds into you, pushing you higher and higher towards your breaking point. "You'll take everything I give you." Ada growls, gripping your hips, holding you still as she pistons her hips even deeper.
Then, you feel it–the heat, the pressure, the way she stiffens inside you.
Your lover groans, burying herself to the hilt, filling you with viscous ropes of semen, her balls tighten as it slaps against your ass. She stays like that, breathing heavily, enjoying the way your body shudders beneath her, taking everything she has to give.
"Y-you didn't even pull out." You blink at her, dazed, breath ragged.
A cold smile graces Ada's lips. Unapologetic.
"Of course not," She murmurs, dragging her fingers down your stomach, pressing lightly over your womb. "Why would I? You look good like this." She leans down, nipping at your bottom lip, her hands still possessively tracing your lips, before she moves her hips again, rubbing against your puffy folds.
"A-Ada–wait, I-I can't–" You gasp, trying to pry her hips away, but her hands grip your thighs, keeping them spread.
"Oh, baby–I'm not yet down with you."
Her hips press forward, the tip kissing the spongey spot of your walls, making you see stars–your back arches.
"You can take more," She murmurs, kissing down your neck, her hands roaming around your body possessively. "You will take more."
Before you can protest, her knees plant firmly against the sheets as she plows into you, deeper, harder.
Stretching, filling.
Broken moans leave from your lips as your back arches–another choked cry escaping your lips. She's bigger, harder this time–more desperate, more demanding as the headboard keeps slamming against the wall.
"You feel that?" Ada groans, jutting her hips, stealing another moan from you.
"Still so tight–still squeezing me like you don't want to leave."
You whimper, your body is too sensitive, too overwhelmed–Ada doesn't stop. She sets a relentless pace, her thrust deep, hard and void of mercy.
"Look at you, so fucked-out already. But you'll take everything I give you, won't you?" She breathes, watching your eyes lose and your lips open.
So helpless.
"You're mine, inside and out."
Your moans turn into whimpers, gasps, pleas—but it only fuels her more. Ada is insatiable, unrelenting, making you take her over and over again, until you’re nothing but a shaking, overstimulated mess beneath her.
She guides your legs around her hips, pulling out.
A whine leaves your lips before it morphs into a filthy moan with another sharp thrust into your cunt, another nasty squelch echoing into the air–sex and perfume wafts in the room. She slumps against you, pressing her soft chest against your sensitive ones, moving her lips purposefully to the crown of your ear and tugging a bit of your skin in between her teeth.
Your body was hot against hers. Your walls throb deliciously throb around her. Ada's eyes flutter close before she sinks her teeth into your skin.
"A-Ada–fuck!" You sob as she angles precisely into you.
"Nghh–I know, doll." Ada throws her head back, relishing the obscene sound of flesh against flesh.
Plap, plap, plap!
Oh, it's a sound you and Ada never get tired of.
You've already lost your mind beneath her–fucking you to a state of overstimulation, being bred full of her semen.
"You look so beautiful," Ada huffs as she jogs her hips, her pace is shallow to the point that she isn't pulling out anymore.
She grabs the headboard, fucking you into the sheets. The older woman grits her teeth, your mixed fluids being fucked out of your beaten walls, making a mess beneath your legs. Her balls slap against the curve of your ass, heavy with potent seed.
"Mghmm, cumming." Your lover whines, "Cum on my cock, doll–nghh, I want to feel you."
Your eyes roll back again as a strong gush of fluid exits your pussy, coating Ada's cock and her balls. Ada groans, nuzzling her cock into you as she fucks you into overstimulation before she finally stills her hips, shooting ribbons of her seed in you, painting your walls warm and white.
Your mixed essence oozes out, your mind filled with cotton and your body is heavy while Ada looks energized, watching your blissed out state.
"Once I know you're pregnant–I'm putting you on maternity leave." She murmurs.
A promise.
A threat.
And for once, you didn't fight against it.

arcane characters as college staff
Mel
History professor
Refers to all students by (honorific) (surname)
Nothing but praise on ratemyproffesor
“I didn’t like history until I took Professor Medarda’s class”
Doesn’t write scholarly articles, just giant ass books that she pumps out almost every year somehow
Quickly responds to emails. No response = its in the syllabus
“Is there any make up work I can do to get my grade up—“ Absolutely not
But if you go the writing center you can get extra credit
Every year her students ask for an extension on the final project and every year she gives a long and furious rant about how the project was visible online from Day 1 and they had all semester to work on it
She has a beautiful office that looks like a miniature library and she only sees students by appointment
Jayce
Physics professor
Is a prolific author but somehow can’t figure out how to set up the course online
Prints cheesy physics memes
Every zoom meeting begins with 1000 messages saying “professor Talis we can’t hear you your mic isn’t on” every. time.
you can come see him in his office any time, door’s always open
but his office is so messy you probably won’t be able to sit because he has a stack of papers on every chair
“Everyone got this question on the exam wrong so I’m going to give everyone credit because that means i didn’t teach it properly”
Always throws an end-of-year party at his place
Caitlyn
English Literature professor
would win best dressed of the staff, always shows up in the slacks-and-blazer fit
“To understand why the narrator wears red shoes, we need to take a look at the sociopolitical state of Edinburgh in 1864.”
if you reply to a discussion board post with just “I agree” you’re not getting credit and it isn’t up for discussion
Never reads contemporary fiction. The “newest” book she’s read is The Great Gatsby
“We’re not having a party but if you want to bring snacks and soda to the last day of class that’s fine”
Covers a lot of authors but it somehow always comes back to Emily Dickenson
Is that teacher that assigns 400-page books every week
Constantly publishing in lit journals (rumor has it she writes steamy open-door romance books under a pen-name but no one has confirmed this)
Ekko
Art professor
You have to actively screw up to get a bad grade with him
He wrote thousands of letters to the board until they caved and gave the class a proper kiln
“Write a three-page essay explaining why AI art is not art and insisting otherwise is spitting in the face of humankind. Double spaced. Due Friday 11:59”
Throws back coffee. Has a coffeemaker in the studio. Two of them.
“Hey guys some of you are submitting assignments at 2 in the morning. It can wait until the next day. Please get some sleep.”
He’s created awe-inspiring pieces but if you just wanna paint a frog wearing a hat he’ll say “that’s cool”
Says he knows who banksy is but will never tell
He gets way too deep in the zone. Once reached for his coffee cup while painting, drank paint water instead. Didn’t notice.
Jinx
Chemistry professor
If you email her the response will be “k” or “no” and nothing else
Waits until twenty minutes after the class begins to email everyone that class is canceled
Never wears a coat, goggles, or gloves. But will call out students if they don’t
takes 5 years to post grades
“Look I’m not remembering any names. Too many. If I’m talking to you I’ll just point”
Puts a meme on the projector every day. Mostly incomprehensible. Picture of a horse on an beach and it just says “Zimbabwe”
lowest score on ratemyprofessor
someone creates a website called ratemystudent and administration has no proof that it was her because technically the students with bad scores being the same students that get bad grades in her class can be coincidental
Viktor
Biomedical engineering professor
Only professor who still uses chalkboards
First day of class is first day of class. No reviewing the syllabus, turn to page 34 in your textbook.
Puts things in the syllabus to catch people who use ChatGPT. If you’re caught, you’re removed from his class. Immediately. You will not get to plead your case.
Most of his cited sources are himself
Literally begs students to thrift their textbooks online instead of buying them from the school. Provides free PDFs as often as he can.
He reads journals every day and will write personal letters to authors he disagrees with
If a student asks a particularly dumb question he’ll step out of the room for ten minutes to compose himself and then resume teaching like nothing happened
Vi
Not a professor, works at the on-campus gym and leads clubs
Constantly curses without batting an eye. Students will leave class with their very uptight professor then come to the soccer club where vi walks in like “sorry I’m late guys i had a motherfucker of a headache this morning”
Please don’t ask her about anything that isn’t club or sport related. If you ask for directions or how to get in contact with student services she’s got nothing
If she refs for a game and you’re on the opposing team you’d better watch yourself. She will rip you a new one if you break any rules. One time a player grabbed one of her member’s mask during a game and he left crying after Vi was done with him
Students run into her at the local hangouts a lot but it’s never awkward. just reminds you not to party too hard before the game tomorrow
Leads pretty much every club but dance. Wouldn’t admit it but she has no sense of rhythm and refuses to even do it as a student
You can call her coach or captain or just Vi, whatever you want. But if you call her Violet she’ll stare you down until you correct yourself
Heimerdinger
Anthropology professor
Spends the first day of class getting to know everyone. “We’re going to go around and give our names and a fun fact about ourselves!”
Gives the “Nacirema” assignment and can’t wait to tell everyone the catch
His classroom is filled with artifacts. Don’t ask about any of them because it will take up class time
If you can’t make it to class he sends really nice responses saying he understands, then checks in when you come back
The only thing that puts him in a bad mood is the “why do anthropologists study dinosaurs if anthropology is about people” question. He’s old and tired
Keeps thinking about retiring, keeps changing his mind
Silco
Political science professor
His classroom is bare and blank. No life. Just fluorescent lights and chairs.
Brags about how few people pass his class
Very strict on attendance. Too many absences and you’re out.
If the assignment is due at 11:59 and you turn it in at 12:00, it’s late
“I am quite interested to hear why you believe you are deserving of a higher grade when you’ve spent less than thirty minutes attending all of my classes combined. Please, continue.”
Will straight up roast other professors no problem. Encourages students to pass it along
He encourages debate but the only thing students debate about outside of class is whether he’s hot or creepy af
Final project is a choice between A) A ten-page essay on why there is no ethical consumption under capitalism, or B) a presentation on why the country is doomed
Vander
Education professor
Makes his own series of Crash Course-esque videos
Comes to class in jeans at best. Sweats, sometimes.
He has one coffee mug that says #1 Dad and he refuses to use anything else
He puts fun questions on his exams, like riddles. If no one gets it, he actually gets sad
Whenever he erases the whiteboard he always misses a spot. He’s that professor.
If he catches you plagiarizing, you get one pass before he reports it. But you have to come to his office so he can tell you how disappointed he is and how much potential you have
He gives a seminar about how worried he is for the future of education and the wellbeing of the next generation and everyone leaves feeling guilty. Everyone.
Make a pop culture reference in class and everything will grind to a halt so you can explain it to him. Visuals help.
Sevika
Librarian
If you play music in the library she’ll walk up to you and just go “are you joking”
Have a phone call on speaker and she’s hanging it up for you
There’s signs telling you to be quiet every three feet
If you see her outside of school no you didn’t
She’s in charge of leading classes on accessing academic databases and she fucking hates it
Somehow knows where every book is down to the shelf. She’ll tell you what you’re looking for before you can finish your sentence
technically she’s supposed to do a walkthrough before closing for the night but if you can’t read the library hours on the signs it’s your fault if you get locked in

A joint team of professors—Hajun Kim, Taejoon Kwon, and Joo Hun Kang—from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at UNIST has unveiled a novel diagnostic technique that utilizes artificially designed polymers known as peptide nucleic acid (PNA) as probes. The research is published in the journal Biosensors and Bioelectronics. The fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) technique works by detecting fluorescent signals generated when probe molecules bind to specific genetic sequences in bacteria. This innovative FISH method employs two PNA molecules simultaneously. By analyzing the genomic sequences of 20,000 bacterial species, the research team designed PNA sequences that specifically target the ribosomal RNA of particular species.

do you want to hear my three houses college major takes of course you do let’s do this king
Edelgard is a political science major. I’m doing these based on more of a modern au fyi but I think polisci fits the bill with her no matter what. I’ve seen arguments for criminal justice but I tend to lean towards polisci thinking about career paths
Hubert is in biomedical engineering. I was going to say bio at first but with how much he worked with agarthan technology I thought putting him in some kind of engineering program would be interesting
Ferdinand is a criminology major trying to get into law school. Three hopes confirms he went to the officers academy to study and build a case against his father
Dorothea is in mass communications. She’d minor in music but I don’t think she’d spend all that money for a degree in it. Communications I thought would work because it’s like media in relation to society. I could see her as a film major too but that’s a bit of a stretch
Bernadetta is a creative writing major I don’t think I need to argue that one
Petra is a geography major. I was going to say international relations but in this sort of non noble modern au I think geography fits her personal interests. I know she hates math but geography lets her study so much stuff at the same time and it’s very Petra to me
Linhardt is a biochem major again I don’t think I need to argue that one
Caspar I honestly can’t imagine doing a four year program and I could not find anything that actually fit him. I could see him doing a two year certificate program or some kind of trade school in something like welding
Dimitri depends on how much we remove from the scenario. Kill his family and you have pissed off criminal justice major Dimitri. Don’t kill his family and you have forestry major Dimitri (based on that one convo he has with Dedue in hopes I just really love this concept)
Dedue is a horticulture major. I don’t know if this is exactly what he would choose to do, but it’s what I think he’d be happiest doing it’s just very lovely for him. I could also see him as a nutrition major
Felix is a kinesiology major. I don’t think he’d pick a major instantly, but I think he’d really click with kinesiology once that reason budding talent kicks in
Sylvain is a film studies major and I will die on that hill. It’s a communications adjacent major, which is what he’s consistently good at and he loves art and I think a lower level of urgency would let him get into it a little more. I could also see him in journalism
Ingrid I actually don’t know. She and Ashe both really leaned into the knight thing (Ashe at least had a very easy alternative for me to go with). I can see her as some kind of engineering major (I just don’t know what field) because it’s a very respectable career path and because Ingrid just has major woman in stem vibes
Annette is an education/mathematics double major ENOUGH SAID.
Mercedes I initially wanted to say nursing, but I think social work or child development fit her a lot better based on her ambitions. I’m leaning towards child development
Ashe is a classics major. If you’re going to look at me and tell me this guy would not lose his mind if you let him study ancient literature and civilization you are WRONG.
Claude I could see double majoring in anthropology and polisci. I think he’d throw in some sort of chemistry minor just for fun
HILDA IS A FUCKING MARKETING MAJOR. Fashion marketing of the school offers it but oh my god this woman screams marketing major I mean that as lovingly as I can. I know some schools have specific jewelry/metalsmithing programs but it’s not common enough for me to jump at it
On that same line of loving slander Lorenz is more than just a business major. He’s an entrepreneurship major. I honestly think he’d be really good at it though
Marianne is in pre-vet but we already knew that. She’s canonically helped a horse through labor
Lysithea is definitely a stem major but I have no idea which one. I could see her doing something insane like astrophysics. Actually yea Lysithea would fucking love physics. Or neuroscience
Ignatz definitely started off as a business major, crashed out, switched to art history so he could still feel “sophisticated” before finally committing to art
Raphael is a hospitality major and I need you to hear me out on this okay PLEASE. Most of what he’s interested in requires a large amount of math which this man does not care for at all and would die doing. His family runs an inn during three hopes, so hospitality is a very reasonable degree for him. He’d only go to college to help his family more anyway let’s be real
Leonie I think would like geology. I was between that and forestry because I think Leonie would be really concerned with environmental waste in a modern au. I ultimately chose geology because I think she’d eventually get bored out of her mind in forestry
Yuri is a sociology major. I was tempted to also throw polisci at him, but sociology I thought focused more on the things that he really cares about plus I think he’d die in a political science classroom
Constance is a biology major. I was going to say chemistry at first but then I thought about bioluminescence and thought yea. She’d like that. She’d like that a lot. I don’t actually know much about the specifics of stem majors so please correct me if I’m botching course material
Hapi I think would be a botony major. I just think she’d really thrive on figuring out all the different ways you can fuck around with a plant. Hapi I love you but I genuinely don’t know what the fuck she’d do if she went to college. I don’t think she would even want to go to college or she’d go in like her thirties
Balthus. I’m actually gonna need help with that one.
Anyways have fun bye

something in the orange| fratboy!katsuki bakugo x f!softgirl!reader
summary: childhood competitive friends take a college cooking course together for fun. katsuki bakugo, our amazing frat boy, and y/n, our amazing soft hearted girl. katsuki has a soft spot for her, but because of his ego won't let it show. denki being denki, lets a secret spill out which can ultimately make or break your friendship with katsuki bakugo
authors note: reader is best friends with denki, sero, kyoka, and tenya!!
chapter 3: new friends & frat parties
you come out of your dorm and walk down the steps to the common room to find out all your other dormmates. it's a filled common room and you spot katsuki on the couch with eijiro, denki, and to your surprise hanta. he sits with a pink haired girl and you feel a tad bit uneasy.
she seems to have the eyes for eijiro, but you'll keep an eye on it. a tap on your shoulder catches you off guard as you turn around to see it was tenya. "greetings" he says and you giggle. "no need to be so formal tenya" you say lightly touching his forearm. "want to take a seat?" he asks you and you nod sitting on a couch not far from katsuki.
"so what's your major?" you ask as you cross your legs and look at him. "biomedical sciences and you?" he asks and you tell him it's dance. "so doctor route i presume?" you ask him and he nods. "i come from a family of doctors it's only right to add on to the line of many doctor iida's" he says and you nod.
"do you know what kind or is it all too new to know which specialty?" you ask and he shifts to move his body facing you. "i'm thinking more surgeon route if anything it's between pediatrics and neurology" he said and you nod smiling. "i could never do all of that too much memorization" you giggle and he nods. "well classes start tomorrow i already know so much is going to be on my plate already" he sighs and gives you a soft smile.
"hey dance major right?" you hear a girl say and turn around to see a girl with dark purple hair. "yea im y/n" you say trailing off to catch her name. "kyoka jiro but just call me jiro" she says kindly. "im a music major maybe we can collab at some point" she says and you nod excitedly. "yeah sounds awesome" you say smiling widely.
"hi im mina!" a girl said and you turn your head to see the pink haired girl. "im y/n" you say trying to be nice as she sits close to katsuki. "im majoring in journalism and im also officially apart of the UA newspaper so make sure to grab a copy on campus!" she says with a smile. she seems nice. "okay sure! i'm a dance major" you tell her and she nods. "kats over here told us" she says and your smile fades. kats?
"yea kats and i go way back" you say with a smile and the hint of jealousy that was in your voice. katsuki picked up on it and he smirked. "hey y/n!" denki said plopping down next to you and you smile. "hi denks" you say with a smile. "i love your pajama set where'd you get it?" mina asks eyeying you.
"kats' mom actually got it for me for my 18th birthday" you smile and she turns her head to katsuki. he nods confirming it and she lets out a huff. "whats your major denks?" you ask and he sits up straight. "communications" he says proudly and eijiro and katsuki stifle their laughter.
"hey whats wrong with communications? dont be mean" you lightly scolded the boys. denki pouts playfully "yeah dont be mean" he laughs and you join him. "and you eiji?" you ask and he flushes a bit red at your little nickname for him. "aerospace engineering" he says and you whistle. "we got the next man of NASA right here" hanta jokes and you all laugh.
you went around the room greeting everyone else. you learned yuga was a graphic design major. tsuyu was studying astronomy. ochaco in antrhopology. mashirao in criminology. koji in animal science. rikido in nutrition and food sciences. mezo in environmental. fumikage in psychology. toru in criminology. you obviously knew izuku was studying chemical engineering. minoru in film and media studies. momo in kinesiology.
you all stay down there for awhile, cooking dinner together. you all called it a night at around 10 to get ready for tomorrow's first set of classes. you walk into your dorm a cup of tea in hand, courtesy of momo, and a hand stops your door from closing. you turn to see katsuki.
"hey kats" you said smiling letting him in and closing the door. "you jealous of pinky?" he asks with a smirk and you tilt your head confused. "who's pinky?" you ask trying to piece together who the hell pinky is. "ashido?" he says and it clicks. "that mina girl?" you ask rolling your eyes.
"hah!" he says catching you off guard. "what?" you say turning to put down your mug down on your nightstand. “you rolled your eyes you are jealous” he pushes and you narrow your eyes. “dont worry she’s got the hots for kirishima she’s just messing with you” he assures you and you nod.
“not that i care but thank you” you smile at him. “whats on your schedule tomorrow?” he asks as he sits in your chair. “i’ve got math, english, and contemporary dance 101” you say sipping your tea.
“how long is that?” he asks as he eyes the stuff on your desk. you have pictures of your senior year pinned most of them containing katsuki and izuku. “3 hours” you said moving towards him.
“i remember this” he says pointing at a photo of you and katsuki. it was prom and you stood back to back throwing up peace signs with sunglasses on. “fun times” you said and rolled the chair so he’s facing you.
“get out im tired” you demand nodding your head towards the door. “yeah yeah” he grumbles getting up and looking down at you. he eyes your outfit and mentally thanks his mom for this pajama set. he looks around your dorm and lightly smiles.
“your room is very y/n” he says admiring the pastels and bows. “katsuki dorm tour soon?” you playfully asked opening your door letting him out.
“never” he grumbles and your smile fades. “goodnight kats” you said going to close the door. “night” is all he says as he walks down the singular flight of stairs to the 4th floor. you closed it and leaned against it, exhaling out a sigh.
you were going insane.
●~*
you changed into dark jeans (that have bows on it), a light blue long sleeve top, and topped it off with some uggs. you put your hair into two braided pigtails and smiled at your reflection. you walked out grabbing your bag and lock your dorm. "you look nice" you hear from behind you and you turn to see todoroki.
"hey shoto" you smiled and blushed a bit at his compliment. "heading to class?" he asks and you nod starting to walk down the stairs with him trailing behind you.
“how was the rest of your night?” he asks kindly and you give him a smile. “it was good! how about yours?” you asked him and he only nods his head. “it was good too” is all he says.
“what class do you have this early?” you asked as you grab an orange juice carton from the fridge in the kitchen. “english” he grumbles and you smile, shoto looking at you confused.
“with professor yamada?” you asked hoping he was in that course as well. “yes thats the one” he says sort of relieved to have someone he partially knows in the same class. “excuse me” you hear and turn around to see tenya.
“good morning tenya” you smiled at him but he kept eyeying the orange juice carton in your hand. “my apologies good morning y/n” he bows down to you and you blush. “i see you have an orange juice carton” he points out and you nod holding it up.
he clears his throat shifting on his two feet uncomfortably. “is something wrong tenya?” you asked as you looked up at shoto and he only shrugged his shoulders. “its just i bought those for myself- im willing to share though i can always go out and buy more!” he rambled and you widened your eyes.
“oh im so sorry i didnt know!” you said trying to hand it back to him and he shook his head pushing it back to you. “keep it i insist” he says holding your hands gently to stop you from handing him the juice back.
“thank you tenya” you smiled at him and he smiled down at you. “should we get going?” shoto asked you and you nodded. “bye tenya” you gave him a small hug and started walking out of the common room with shoto.
“hey” you heard and stopped walking. katsuki reaches you and eyes shoto up and down. “you gonna be in the studio later” he asks and you nod. “i have a room reserved for 5:30 why?” you asked and he only nods walking away.
“he’s a weird one isnt he?” shoto says and you nod walking out of the common area with shoto.

its 5 o clock when you reach the dance studio desperately wanting to get some practice in. your contemporary 101 class has you already working on choreography you’ll be performing for the class. you thought long and hard on which song to dance to.
you swiped your id card and opened the doors to the building. you went up the second floor and swiped your id card again to get into the private room. your phone dings and you move to grab your phone along with your speaker.
kats 🍓
you in the studio?
you reply with a yes and you see he starts typing again.
kats 🍓
be there in 5
you react with a thumbs up leaving him on read and you walk out to wait for him. you see him with his practice bag along with his school backpack. “hey grumps” you smirked at him and he scowls at you.
“let us in dork” he grumbles out and you swipe your ID card again and lead him into the room. “got some homework to do” he mumbles and you nod as he sets himself up in the corner.
“you wont bother me just dance” he says and you nod as you play the song of choice. no. 1 party anthem plays in the room as you move to the center of the room.
as you dance and figure out choreography along the way, you noticed katsuki was distracted. “you distracted?” you smiled down at him and he contorts his face into one of confusion.
“‘m not” he defends and goes back to scrolling through the spreadsheets on his computer for an assignment. you stop the music and go to lay down next to katsuki.
you sigh, tired. “theres a frat party this friday” he says typing on his computer and you turn to look at him. “already?” you ask and he nods. “yea my frat” he says it like its not new information to you.
“hold on you joined a frat?!” you said sitting up and he shrugs. “yea with the boys” he says it like its casual. “and who’s the boys” you mock still in shock. “kirishima, honenuki, iida, kaminari” he says still looking at his computer.
“wanna come?” he asks and looks at you. you thought about it. “sure why not” you shrug getting up and playing the music again as katsuki watches you silently in awe.
●~*
wednesday comes and you sit next to katsuki in a stool. your baking class being a weekly class held on wednesdays. your professor is going over the syllabus and the many recipes you’ll be doing this quarter.
you nudge katsuki playfully and he nudges you back. “okay class we’ll start off with an easy recipe, brownies!” she says as she pulls the recipe onto the screen. “you’ll be working alone for this one, but in future there will be group assignments” she says as you all got up to grab aprons and the utensils.
“mine are gonna come out better” katsuki says as he starts cracking eggs into his bowl. “nuh uh” you said and rolled your eyes playfully as you get to work making brownies from scratch.
katsuki gets distracted watching you mix the ingredients together. “take a picture kats it’ll last longer” you said looking up at him and winking before moving to grab a tray to dump your mix in.
he starts mixing his ingredients, embarrassed he got caught. you smirk to yourself as you dump your mix in and move towards the oven popping yours in and setting a timer on your phone. katsuki follows you shortly after and pops his in.
“now we wait to see who’s is the best” he taunts looking down at you and moving to clean up his area. between the time it takes to clean up your respective areas, your timer goes off. you happily move to get your brownies out carefully. you bring it back to your station and grab a knife.
you start cutting it into 8 even pieces as bakugo’s timer goes off and he grabs his out of the oven. “mine smell so good” you tease as you carefully continue cutting as katsuki starts cutting his.
you pull out a piece gently setting it down on a paper plate provided by your professor. once the class settles down and everyone’s done, she comes around to taste test them.
“your name honey?” she says waiting to write it down on the grading sheet she was giving out to students after grading their brownies. “y/n l/n” you smiled at her as she quickly writes it down. she takes a bite and she immediately hums indicating its good.
“you added a little something in here huh” she smiles writing down a 30/30 on your sheet and handing it to you. she moves on to katsuki’s. she takes a bite and she nods as she chews. “somethings missing” she whispers to herself.
she gives him a 28/30 and you stifle your laugh as he looks down at you as she walks away to grade other brownies. fuck you, katsuki mouths and you smile up at him. “class dismissed” your professor said and everyone got up taking their brownies in tupperware.
“wanna taste mine?” you playfully asked as katsuki held both of your bags and walked in the direction of the dorms. “fuck you” he looks the other way. he knows he’ll definitely steal one later.

friday rolls around and you slip on a small baby pink dress. you throw on a white cardigan and pair it off with white heeled boots. you spray your perfume and look in the mirror.
you smile at yourself and grab your purse walking out of your dorm, locking it. “ready?” you hear the familiar voice of katsuki bakugo and you turn around. he rakes his eyes across your body in awe.
“yea” you breathed out going red slightly and walking past him down the stairs. he walks you both there and upon reaching it, you instantly want to go back to your dorm. “do we have to kats?” you asked as you leaned into him.
“come on princess” he teases and leads you into the house. youre immediately pulled into the kitchen where katsuki’s boys are at. “hey!” denks yells throwing an arm around your shoulder. “drink?” he offers pointing at the assortment of liquor and tequila on the countertop.
“not made by you” katsuki grumbles as he pours himself some water. “you arent drinking kats?” you ask quietly playing with your sleeves nervously. he only shakes his head and you look at eijiro.
he smirks at you and katsuki and he wiggles his eyebrows at you. you turn red and look the other way. juzo smiles at you and you smile back. “want anything to drink?” he asks as he bends down slightly to say it into your ear for you to hear.
you nod your head and he extends his hand out to you, for you to take. you take it as he leads you to the countertop where all the drinks are. katsuki watches carefully, denki and eijiro catching on. tenya walks in and does handshakes with all of them.
“so heres vodka we can mix it with anything you’d like” juzo starts and you look up at him, nodding along. “rum with coke is another option” he points out and you nod your head again. “whats your pick?” he asks leaning against the counter looking at you.
you scan the options and eye the rum. “a rum with coke please” you smile sweetly up at him and he gets to work mixing it for you. you watch him intently and once he’s done, hands it to you. katsuki watches with his arms crossed and jaw clenched.
denki pats his shoulder roughly. “lighten up” he slurs and goes to dance with some girl that pulled him out of the kitchen. he comes back stumbling before he’s officially out of the kitchen. “dont let your ego get to you, admit you like her bro” and then he’s officially dragged out.
eijiro and tenya smirk at katsuki and nod and all he could do was scoff and rolls his eyes. “i dont” he grumbles. “dude the way you look at her says so much” eijiro says and katsuki only shakes his head. “dont miss out on it” tenya says passing by and shooting a small smile to katsuki.
he scoffs again watching you and juzo. you guys laugh at something he apparently said and his stomach does a flip. what’s so funny? “probably just 2 juz” you giggle as you watch him mix up another drink for you.
“good call” he nods finishing it up and handing it to you again. “you look really pretty” juzo says staring down at you. katsuki hears this and scoffs again. you look absolutely fucking stunning in his eyes. you blush and look down letting out a small thank you.
juzo wraps an arm around your waist cautiously and leads you out of the kitchen. you smile at katsuki on your way out giving him a small bye and he tries to give you a smile, but fails. you sit on the stairs all night talking with juzo.
you got to know each other and when katsuki comes to collect you to walk you back to your dorm, you give juzo a smile, a hug, and your number. “goodnight juz” you smile down at him and he lets a goodnight with the biggest smile on his face.
katsuki leads you out of the house and begins the walk across campus. “kats i did it!” you said excitedly shaking his shoulder. “i see” he says sarcastically. you push him lightly “come on be happy for me!” you said with such excitement. “let me know if i have to beat him up” he mumbles and you nod your head.
“you gonna start looking for someone?” you nudge his arm and he shakes his head no. “dont have the time for it” is all he says and you shut up the rest of the way back to the dorms. you unlock your door and look up katsuki. “how was it?” he asks indicating your very first party.
“loved it, will go again sometime” you smiled up at him. his heart tugs at your smile. he moves a piece of your hair behind your ear and smiles softly at you. “goodnight” he mumbles hesitantly moving forward to plant a kiss on your forehead.
“night kats” you smiled up at him and he moves out of the way so you can close the door. he stares at your door and mentally curses himself. the idiots are right.

Pathophysiology of Vascular Manifestations in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
Pathophysiology of Vascular Manifestations in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus in Biomedical Journal of Scientific & Technical Research
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a potentially fatal, chronic, multisystem autoimmune disorder. As defects can occur in various parts of the immune cascade, clinical presentations may vary significantly [1]. These clinical features range from musculoskeletal to neuropsychiatric, renal, cutaneous, gastrointestinal, pulmonary, cardiac, vascular, haematological, ophthalmological and immunological manifestations [2]. In a prospective, Europewide, decade-long study, the most common symptoms of SLE were arthritis, malar rash, nephropathy, photosensitivity, neurologic symptoms, fever, Raynaud’s phenomenon, serositis, thrombocytopenia and oral ulcers [3]. Notably, coronary heart disease, atherosclerosis and thrombosis are common in SLE [4,5], and small- and medium-vessel vasculitis across affected organ systems prevail in up to 36 % of SLE cases [6]. Adding to the complexity of the disease are varying laboratory abnormalities‚ from hematological and serological changes to negative serology or the occurrence of specific autoantibodies [1]. SLE predominantly affects women between puberty and menopause, which suggests an endocrine influence on disease onset and progression. This is underpinned by the fact that the female-to-male ratio in children is rather low and increases significantly in childbearing age [7].

Research Progress of Matrix Metalloproteinases Deriving from Parasites- Crimson Publishers
Research Progress of Matrix Metalloproteinases Deriving from Parasites- Crimson Publishers
Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) is a large family. It is named because it needs metal ions like Ca2+, Zn2+as cofactors. Its family members have similar structures and are generally composed of five domains with different functions:
A. The hydrophobic signal peptide sequences;
B. The prepeptide region, mainly used to maintain the stability of the zymogen. When the region is cut off by exogenous enzymes, MMPs zymogen is activated.
C. The catalytic active region, having zinc ion binding sites, crucial for the enzyme catalysis.
D. The hinge region rich in proline.
E. The carboxyl terminal region, related to the substrate specificity of the enzyme [1].

Callis: Chemistry, Medicine, or Biomedical Engineering.
Midas: Economics. (I can't think of anything better. Perhaps, a minor in Literature because he's a Reader?)
Hook: Maritime Studies. (Possibly, a minor in Linguistics or Translation? He'd need to know whatever the Woods' lingua franca is, if he's to travel the world.)
Aladdin: Undeclared. (Nothing wrong with being Undeclared, despite the fact that I'm associating it with him. I just feel like he's the noncommittal sort and he'd be undeclared for far too long. Maybe he'd eventually go into Business?)
Japeth: Physics or Aeronautics. (If you're reading this, Jude, I couldn't come up with anything better. Feel free to fill in the blanks!)
Rhian (TCY): Political Science or Communications.
Kyma: Sociology. (Or possibly Anthropology. I can't think of anything much better for her either.)
Rufius: Culinary Arts.

what’s your ocs’ fav food, or hobbies
Eli's favorite food is anything that has cheese in it. Since she's kinda based on me, I guess his hobbies would be drawing and journaling. In the story(that I am yet to write) he has a degree in biomedical engineering and sometimes just likes to create cool designs of machines.
Sooty would just like anything with meat, but overall I think he likes soups, particular ones filled with chicken. I imagine him taking woodcarving as a hobby, usually just making small figurines of things he likes. He'll probably like crocheting as well
Rezmo can't really remember what their favorite is, especially with the fact it hasn't eaten the food for so long. I suspect it's probably a native dish. His hobbies? That guy looks like someone that will go birdwatching to me
I think that's all
Also, awesome ahh pfp, 10/10, gorgeous

What's the origin of your blog title?
So blog title isn't the same as URL right? Idfk anymore. Anyway my blog title is Why am I still here and honestly I used it because I had just remade my tumblr and was like "really why am I even here" but honestly it also goes with my depressed ass being like why am I alive so yeah.
OTP(s) + shipname:
Oh god, ummmm. It's been a while tbh bc all i do is write x reader fics nowadays. If you've ever seen Critical Role, I shipped Widojest. That was the last OTP for me tbh. I can't remember more. But I'm sure @karinamay could embarrass me with some of my old ones 😂

If you work, what's your profession?
I work in IT for my university. Manage a whole Biomedical Engineering department by myself lol.

Honestly I'd be a writer full-time. I love writing and was going to school for journalism before I realized it didn't pay well.
Something you're good at:
Literally nothing lmao
Something you're bad at:
Ummm probably time management just because of the adhd. It's bad out here y'all.
Something you love:
Singing. I can do it halfway decently so it's always fun.
Something you could talk about for hours off the cuff:
Honestly it's hard for me to keep information in my head anymore because I've just got so much going on mentally rn but I used to be able to talk anybodys ear off about Marvel.
Something you hate:
My mental illnesses lmao
Something you collect:
Ummmm stickers, Grogus, and Nightmare before Christmas stuff.
Something you forget:

If you could change any detail of your day right now, what would it be?
To not be at wooooork I'm so tired let me leaaaave.
