i referenced in this post that simon is the devil and never hid it. this is why he wants to get rid of as many larries as he can, particularly the veterans. all day i was thinking at work where tf did i remember him saying that and i did a little digging thanks to this iconic video masterpost (please preserve this as well omg) and i was able to find the receipt to back up my claim. simon said on candid fucking camera what he is and you can audibly hear cheryl cole saying “speak for yourself” and you can see (if you’re not willfully blind) how uncomfortable the boys looked from THE BEGINNING.

this is what we’re talking about when we say be frustrated but please take a second to breathe. i get you haven’t had to deal with louis and a stunt for a long time and you felt comfort in a come out but please remember why we are here. this is more than just a ship. larry is not fan fiction. they are real people in a long battle we have only scratched the scope of.

syco & its minions need the larries who remember this stuff GONE and for us to delete all the evidence we’ve created in anger. i deleted my goddamn twitter in 2015 and wish i hadn’t. i’m speaking from experience. you cannot let yourself be blind sided by emotion especially not at this stage. make your jokes etc but please dear GOD do not fucking delete your blogs/ your twitters/your big docs of everything etc. if you have to leave please give them over to someone else who can preserve them for you in your absence do not delete the evidence. we CANNOT lose anymore media.

UNDERSTAND THEY WANT US TO BE UPSET AT LOUIS. THEY THINK IT’S ENTERTAINMENT. and if some of the larries on twitter are right and zara is actually fighting against syco with katie waissel (another person who was on 1d’s season speaking out recently) this could be a giant smear campaign that we’re playing into and they are BANKING on larries hating zara. please please do not let it continue.

the cycle has to be broken. something huge is brewing and we have to tighten the reigns like it’s 2015 and prepare for war if need be.

Another thing that I love about vampirism as a metaphor in Sinners is that the hivemind mechanism is presented as a violation of the autonomy and privacy of the individuals being assimilated into the herd. Remmick presents vampirism as a solution to the racism faced by the Black characters in the movie, but we see how it is no difference to the oppression that other white characters inflict on our protagonists.

Earlier in the film, Delta Slim recounts how he and his fellow inmates were made to perform for white audiences, and how he realized that white people liked their music but absolutely HATED the people making the music.

Later, we see four instances where Remmick controls his vampire thralls to sing for/with him: the cringy Pick Poor Robin Clean, the eerie Go Lassie Go, Rocky Road to Dublin, and Pick Poor Robin Clean (cursed reprise). In each scene, the vampires move in sync, performing purely for Remmick's purposes. This is a perversion of Sammie's juke joint moment, where the audience are both connected by his music and set free, which is symbolized by the wall of the sawmill burning down as everyone dances with wild abandonment.

The hivemind also steals its members' memories, not to cherish but to use as tools of control. Remmick uses the memories and language he takes from Bo to taunt Grace, turning what is private and comforting into a weapon. It's also most likely another factor in why Annie is so adamant that Smoke kill her if she gets bitten; they can't risk having her knowledge of hoodoo desecrated in the hands of the vampires.

TL;DR: Vampirism in Sinners is not the answer to racism; it's the same tenets repackaged to seem more accepting while stamping out individuality to serve one (1) culture's means.

realized all of my bookmarks from previous web browsers were actually saved to this computer so I spent the whole day going through my old stuff, it was great but nothing infuriates me more then seeing so much of it was gone. not just tumblr posts that were deleted but like whole websites, collectives, archives, flash sites and games, forums just entirely gone and not available on wayback machine. Like we really don't think about digital space as physical but there are servers and hard drives for storage, wires running connections, cooling that needs to happen - things inevitably get cut to make space for more important stuff, folks stop paying their website hosting bills and probably never think about it again but I do!!!!

I feel such an intense amount of anger every time I hear the "nothing disappears on the internet" phrase as an archivist.

I think it's interesting parallels how both 4c and zam have fulfilled the role as builders on the server, but while zam rebuilds spawn and seeks to protect it, 4c is building re:spawn, a spawn that seeks to replace the previous one, one seeks to create alongside destruction, while the other seeks to preserve at any cost, opposing destruction, one is the cycle of preservation in response to destruction while the other seeks to break that cycle, I think its interesting how in lifesteal even building relates to conflict, a conflict of ideology that spills into violence and has a physical impact on the world as building itself becomes a statement

another thing that kills me abt the conversation team awesome had after ro had made the decision to leave s4 behind was how at the start of the convo, it was all three of them talking face to face w mapicc, ro, and zam all stood together but as things progressed— the gap between ro and mapicc & zam became so large that there is both a metaphorical and literal chasm between them as they are saying their final pieces, and ro is saying her goodbyes. things ended w ro looking upon mapicc and zam amidst the chaos of their own creation and turning away from it all (turning away from them) and w them watching her go from a distance.

and like. tbh. idk if ro has said otherwise so ill take it back if she has but i just dont,,, have a reason to believe that she would have ever Not left, yk? even if she didnt have her own plans, if she Had wanted to join the team genuinely, if she wasnt massively distrusted— i dont think s4 ro ever wouldve ever been happy to destroy a world she had spent the entire season trying to preserve. even if it was w mapicc and zam, for as much as she loved them, she hated their destructiveness until the very end

i think After this ro definitely changed— if her helping end the server in s5 is indicative of anything, but like even during s5 itself she didnt LIKE the destructiveness. she never once turned her back on mapicc no matter what he said or did until he gave her a real reason to by (and the other abyss people) starting to destroy the server once again, and killing ro nd the one teammate of hers on lalas that she Actually cared abt

like even when she joined the players and agreed to help destroy things, the destruction was pitched to her by zam and mapicc as going back to what once was w the destruction just being a means to get there bc ro herself isnt someone who enjoys destruction for the sake of destruction— she'll fw almost Anything as long as it has meaning she can understand, and they made sure to give her smt she'd understand bc they know this abt her

which like . :')))) i cannot emphasize enough how much it Kills me that when given a choice on who they could end the world w, ro was the one zam & mapicc chose. they chose her and refused to go back on either killing everyone else or dying together in their efforts no matter how difficult and shitty things got. devotions were able to trust ro and had the choice to keep her by their side this time around, and ro was finally able to accept the inevitability of change and valued the sense of belonging she feels w her friends over the server, her own morals, and just,, everything bc none of it has any meaning if she isnt w the people who give things meaning to her

sorry i feel like this doesnt rly make sense but i wanted to yap abt team awesome bc they actually mean so very much to me. their relationship was permanently changed bc of s4 and now all 3 of them have this weird bond/attachment that transcends seasons & teams
