every time I think I've finally processed all the weird shit in curse of strahd, I remember there's a mirror somewhere in the Baron's mansion that can like SUMMON A GHOST ASSASSIN and if you do this very specific thing that almost no one would ever do unprompted, there's a 50% chance that Strahd will suddenly join your zoom meeting and invite you to dinner.
like, from a design perspective, I don't know how I'm going to get my party to go into this room, let alone interact with this fucking mirror, why did they put so many mechanics here

a fun trend i’ve noticed on tumblr: if izek strazini has hair, the DM has made him redeemable. if he’s bald, he stays evil. i have yet to see a redeemable bald izek or an evil hair-having izek.

I love TTRPGS. Despite the fun of playing make-believe with friends, it’s also the cure for one of my most debilitating conditions:
Writer’s block.

The Lost Caverns of Tsojconth, tournament module for WinterCon V in 1976. Many details changed between Tsojconth and the 1982 published version Tsojcanth, notably the gender of the Archmage Iggwilv. In this backstory for Tsojconth he was slain by Graz'zt, while in Tsojcanth she defeated Graz'zt but was weakened by the struggle, used the last of her powers to prepare her hiding place, and is presumed to have died sometime since then.

What's your favorite Spacecraft, both real and fictional?
It would be impossible to choose a favorite real spacecraft but my favorite fictional spacecraft is probably the Galaxy Class USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D.

Partly because I love the TNG technical manual and partly because it's just gorgeous. Easily the best looking ship to carry the name.
Some candidates for my favorite real spacecrafts: The Space Shuttle Orbiters (Space Transportation System) (1981-2011). Truly horrendous design. Unsafe, inefficient, but unquestionably gorgeous and utterly iconic, having defined human spaceflight for at least two generations.

You may have a death toll but I can't stay mad at you...
The Apollo Lunar Modules (1969-1972). These babies have a negative death toll, being instrumental in the rescue of the Apollo 13 astronauts and being uninvolved in the Apollo 1 fire. They are also one of two unquestionably iconic U.S. government vehicles designed and built by Grumman with "L" in the name--the other is the USPS Long Life Vehicle.

Skylab. They really did just say "what if we emptied out a rocket tank and turn it into a space station." and it has the dubious honor of being the only space station with a spacious enough volume to test cold-gas EVA-jetpacks and to have a shower. All while having its sun shield and one of its solar panels torn off. It's even large enough that you can run along the outside, and the centrifugal force of your own circular motion is enough to keep you on the walls/floor.

Drow and Drider Adventure Kickstarter Went Live
The Kickstarter for "After the Fall", the sequel to "Rise of the Drow", went live today. It's a 5e evil campaign where you play drow or drider. For those who've followed me for my Throne of Night and Way of the Wicked entries, this might just be up your alley.
I was very lucky to get to be part of this project, and am proud of the work that I put into this. When it comes out, I'll be looking forward to finally seeing all the other chapters that other people worked on and seeing this campaign as a whole.
Depending on demand and stretch goals achieved, AAW Games is looking to convert this to Pathfinder 2e as well.

"Despite [Ebenezer Howard's] own efforts to spread the word (partly in the new international language of Esperanto), much was lost or misunderstood as other countries encountered the garden city."

it's hilarious to me that this campaign module has such a hard-on for this damn elevator trap that they forgot to give the brides ANY PURPOSE OR PERSONALITY
