About Me

thought i would make this post because why not

My online pseudonym is Cerulity32K, casually Cerulity. Though, my preferred name is Kali, and my alternate username is Kali the Catgirl.

Though my mental conditions are mild, I do have ADHD (inattentive) and am seeking an autism evaluation. I am also trans (she/they).

But let's get to the good stuff. I excel in computing, especially low-level stuff and graphics (webdev scares me) and math, advanced functions, calculus and linear algebra being the most useful to me. I like to intersect math and computing, and it leads to some pretty fun results, especially when dealing with graphics. My main languages are Rust, C, C++, CUDA, C#, and Python, though I am trying to understand Assembly for a few systems (my laptop [x86_64], NES [6502], and the Atari 2600 [6507]). The main libraries I go to are Raylib and Macroquad for 2D games, and for 3D I go for wgpu, Vulkan, or OpenGL, though wgpu may be the main one I use from now on.

I also do music. My favourite types of music are either loud, distorted songs (FREE.99), literally noise (Portal 2 OST), or electronic-jazz fusion (Creo). I also sometimes make music. It's usually remixes or covers, as I suck at melody crafting, but I have made a couple original songs. I specialize in industrial chiptune and what I like to call "rustcore". My two music environments are LMMS and Furnace, though the latter is the main one I use nowadays.

My favourite game genres are automation, puzzle, and platformer. Factorio, Exapunks, and Celeste are my favourites in those genres respectively.

Other than that, I like to do procedural or subdiv modelling in Blender.

All in all, I'm just a software catgirl :3

3/10/2025 - B-Sides Progress

Goal: start putting together the music journal in Godot

Notes: I had so much trouble with importing the Flutter package into VSCode that I had to switch to a whole other way to code this project. Off to a great start!

Reflection: I'm writing this reflection a week later, but I think godot is definitely giving me a lot more room to do what I need to. I have some basic UI right now that I need to write some code for, and then the "journal" section will be done. All in all, I'm optomistic.

Oh yeah. It's multi-kill system time.

You now get your little text-based dopamine hit for getting a triple kill sew.

The only thing I don't like about this feature is the naming convention. Double, triple and quad sew sound fine and are easy to grasp. But anything past ×4 like 'penta-sew' sounds lame when it sits next to the funny spree counter.

what idle animation looks best? i can either do a 2 frame version that looks cute and fun. or a more smooth and detailed version with 5 or smth frames.

I've been playing around with RPG Maker MZ lately and I really love it so far. I bought it for myself for the holidays in December and I've been having a fucking blast playing with it every since. In the past, I told myself that I shouldn't use RPG Maker because of it's bad reputation...

It turns out that when you get past the reputation, there's an amazing community of creatives making awesome outsider art and they don't give a shit about you or your opinion on their reputation. It's so inspiring, and the program is so simple it's easy to edit the game and play-test it to see an immediate return on your effort. And that's the magic sauce, isn't it? Like that's the shit I want in my life.

I have been desperately trying to feel a connection to my creativity after abuse and societal pressure wrung all the joy out of it. For the first time in a long time, a creative project I want to do feels like fun, like stress reduction instead of obligation and it is so fucking sweet!

So, I guess, friendly reminder to go for it if you think something might make your happiness more accessible.

my school doesn't have like a theater department or whatever so our only play is one done by my language teacher (that ive had to participate in last year n this year (kind of, im still not sure what im supposed to do? some sort of assistant i think? she wants me to know the full script and manage the stage n stuff so i think so?)) but im in both film and art so i count that as a win

Goal: Program the music log!

Notes: I've been feeling a little out-of-focus lately, so I'm hoping my work today will get me back on track. I'm resisting the urge to scrap the little I have and start again. I just want to get some scripting done.

Reflection: I don't know why but I am struggling a lot trying to figure out how to save inputted text. I hope next time I'll be able to get a lot more work done on this project.
