i feel like people are sleeping on the occam's razor situation of how buckwild it is to outright accuse a guy of being a clone of your friend even if you DO have a lot of circumstantial evidence. there's other options is what im saying. they could just be like. a guy. that's a sensible deduction. you should explore that deduction. ignore my shirt that reads I <3 RED HERRINGS.

i still think odile has the correct theory on lock but she's smart enough to know it needs like... a real smoking gun to be able to bring it up without sounding insane.

anyway. (mirabelle voice) i know its rude to speculate but has anyone else noticed the grieving? they seem to be grieving. does anyone have any thoughts on the grieving? i have some thoughts on the grieving.

i think that something really interesting about the armored core series is the armored cores themselves and what they thematically represent

given everything else in the games, you might initially think that they are representative of the dehumanization and removal of free will that pilots face, essentially being their cage. but, the thing is, it really seems like they're the opposite.

the armored core is the one part of their life a pilot controls. it is designed by them, for them, as an extension of themselves. they get to choose every part, every color, every decal. it is theirs. and when they're piloting it, they have control, they have freedom. this is probably most felt in 4th and 5th gen where the soundtracks constantly convey a sense of this freedom, but it is somewhat felt throughout the series.

this is also why it's an extremely common plot thread that the corporations are trying to essentially phase out armored cores in favor of mass produced machines. they don't like this one remaining bit of freedom mercenaries have and want to remove it and the power that comes with it, replaced with nondescript, impersonal machines.

The Refusal and An Awakening - Lose Clarity AU

(i was gonna make this a storyline but slsbsigwisbskshksb- its just a lore dump now :/ kinda sad since cool title ^ from my brain but whatever sbksbdksns)

(but hey so remember when Moon(Nexus) put a cure into Ruin’s head? well uhhhh, here’s a little story for you guys about one major point in my AU-)

When Ruin waited for Moon(Nexus) to find him and Sun, Nexus caught him and injected the cure into Ruin’s systems. The cure rushed in his systems and Ruin collapsed, seemingly turning off for a few minutes before rebooting. However that’s not entirely the case in this AU.

I may or may not hace established this in my first post on this AU, however the virus was submerged in Ruin’s systems for years while he was in his home dimension and only started working when he left his dimension; reasons being the Creator. The Creator was the controller of those affected by the hivemind code he made in the home dimension, Ruin being unaffected due to the Creator (being a dumbass for once and not checking his sources-) i mean due to the Creator not noticing he had somehow skipped over Ruin’s code.

Back to my point - when Ruin was injected with the ‘cure’, his systems refused it. It refused the cure, his code copying itself instead. This copied code semi-mixed with the cure in his systems in a way and a small piece of a bigger puzzle was created..

Puzzle!!! the little one who Ruin is now the guardian of!!

Idk if I made a post about it when I posted it to ao3 but hey guess who wrote a 10k tsams au fic after like 5+ years of not posting anything lol

It's for an au I'm calling: Dust to Dusk! The fic name is "False, Fractured, Faceless."

(Due to a recent AI scraping within ao3, the fic is unfortunately locked to users with an account for now, just fyi!)

It's essentially a canon divergence au take on how differently tsams/eaps Eclipse could have evolved as a character if certain factors were changed, specifically if Ruin's rebuilding v.3 Eclipse and his subsequent back-ups weren't done quite correctly.

In short, this first fic takes a look into how this Eclipse experiences life with a chronic disability(or the animatronic equivalent) as a result from his repeated deaths, thanks to Lunar vaporizing the copy's first iteration with his powers- it led to corrupting the subsequent backups.

Also it's a bit o' Nexus arc redemption/deviation in that New Moon doesn't end up dabbling in DSP, just magic, and not for evil reasons!

So Eclipse similarly 'pulls a Nexus' and changes his name to Dusk. :)

The Au name Dust to Dusk is kind of. Really on the nose, if you couldnt tell xD
