What to expect
Opinion/question posts
Self-explanatory. I will share my opinions and beliefs - not political - on writing and shows/movies I've seen, as well as bring up some questions I had during or after watching them.
Please be kind, and feel free to share your own opinions and questions.
Headcanon posts
I'll mostly do the ones where it goes like this
Character one:
Character two:
But I might add in the kinds where I feel a character would do or react to a certain thing and things like that.
I've only done Percy Jackson as that series is my top favorite.
Prompts to Manifest Character
I won't be posting actual prompts that are normally found in writing blogs. This is the name of what I'm going to refer to as a series of me using prompts I've made or found to flesh out my characters. I write fanfiction, and I've been feeling that I don't have a very good grasp on my OCs -- and seeing as my ADHD makes it so that I come up with a new idea every second, I most likely don't -- and my plots are either subpar or inconsistent.
I will answer questions about said character if asked.
No requests
As I've said, I have ADHD. If you ask me to write character x reader, I will procrastinate on it, especially if its not something I feel interested to write.
This is a warning.
Okay, this is it. If this blog has things you're interested in or wanting to check out, welcome!
P.S. Feel free to check out my account on Wattpad. @Olympians657

ok i know this is super petty to post about buuut i do think it's dumb to compare a theoretical metalhead who doesnt listen to metal to goths who dont listen to goth music since "metalhead" isnt a super well known & recognizable type of fashion
#yes i am saying poser rights lol#it just comes off as obtuse to act like someone who loves goth fashion isnt A Real Goth because they dont like bauhaus ok#anyways this is literally the most meaningless discourse sorry for opinionposting

I use ptyxis, the default terminal emulator for GNOME, because it does the job and looks good. It’s definitely not the most “feature-rich” one out there but does it need to be? A terminal emulator is a computer program that pretends to be a teleprinter—it really does not need all the bells and whistles that people use to justify their fancy Rust projects. And if the speed at which your terminal emulator can print text makes a noticeable difference in your workflow on a modern computer you’re using the terminal incorrectly. If there’s enough output for the printing speed to matter you really should be piping that to a file or to /dev/null.

tbh i feel like not enough people actually respect creators nowadays. This especially applies to independent/self-published creators. It is a genuine privilege to be able to view something that someone has put their time and effort into making, and just because they put their work on the internet doesn’t entitle people to blatantly go “ok well you put this out there now it is out of your hands” that opinion is just plain stupid and rude.
yes people will inevitably interpret aspects of any given media differently but also don’t be an asshole towards the person who made your favorite media in the first place (unless they are a genuinely problematic person, not problematic by internet standards because some of yall find issues with the dumbest shit, but that’s not the point right now)
the fact that someone who enjoys their craft and the things they make can just have something they worked on snatched out of their hands the moment it gets popular honestly scares me, especially since i write characters and want to be an author at some point
TLDR: a lot of people need to learn fandom etiquette and honestly just empathy in general.

I am asking about the dog burying drama please please please
Ive awoken so I can tell this story now
It was over a year ago now, but I remember it so much
Do you remember the post that was a series of very obviously reversed gifs of people getting a trapped dog out of the ground, so they looked like the dog was burying it, and the op was claiming that it was joe bidens campaign staff who buried it? I reblogged it in late 2023 with "LEGENDARY POST" as my tags and went back to my regularly scheduled opinionposting and memes
Someone in my ask box did not like this very much
I got a... weird ask. Initially I thought it was just poorly worded. Essentially this person was asking me to tag it with "tw animal abuse" and getting upset with me for reblogging something that could, in their words, "cause panic attacks."
This rubbed me the wrong way because like, it's. It's a meme. Also the dirt was flying into their hands, it was very obviously fake. I've also never done trigger tags or content warnings on my blog out of personal choice. But I gave them the benefit of the doubt at first and answered with "...no. I have never done content warnings on this blog and I am not going to do it for memes because I have thousands of followers and if I had to tag everyone's triggers it would be impossible to just have fun on my own blog. So if that's something you can't handle, it's in your best interest to unfollow me"
I thought that would be the end of it
That was not the end of it
They got really fucking mad at me and started going off in my replies saying that I was personally responsible for their panic attack for not tagging the joe biden dog burying meme post before they saw it, that I was apparently saying that I didn't care about them or anybody else with triggers' wellbeings, and that by refusing to trigger tag the dog burying post I was being ableist against them
At this point myself and a ton of people told them to fuck off, including a bunch of folks in the replies saying that they also have animal abuse triggers and the joe biden dog burying post is an absolutely ridiculous thing to get this upset about, and defended me saying that it's still my right not to put CWs on my personal private blog if i dont want to, and by being transparent about how I wouldn't I WAS being fair to them and others with similar triggers
This person then ran off to their blog and told everyone how I was a big meanie bad person for "blowing up at them and refusing a simple accessibility request" and claimed that I had personally sicced all my followers on them in a smear campaign against them. My brother in christ you acted like that in a public forum
Also, we thought this person had to be 14. Like we thought they had to be. After I was told by a follower they were throwing a fit about me on their own blog I went to look at got flashbanged with the "32" in their bio

more ill-advised opinionposting. whatever
"sighs. what is it this time" "idk i keep seeing so many people blame gen z for being so 'puritan' and contributing to an anti sex culture and i'm not sure if it's like, the fault of young people with very little power, and not the old people with a lot of power making laws and stuff. or the culture of a nation built on puritan ideals maybe."
like first off is gen z really so puritan or do we just have too much access to cross-generational takes thanks to the internet. or do we just see a lot of ragebait thanks to the internet. maybe things really are different!! but also we have the internet now. i don't think teens are stupid!! teens tend to be really smart!! but also being a teen By Definition means somewhat limited life experience and also a lot fewer rights and power in a really big and complicated world. also i guess a lot of gen z aren't teens anymore but like. Young People. you know what i mean
like obviously i think we as a society should be more chill about sex and i think it would be great if young people had a more relaxed relationship to it also. i'm a big fan of the concept of sex neutrality. i'm a big fan of people getting to decide what to do with their own bodies. all my love to sex workers and erotica artists out there. i really don't think some obscure dubcon fic on ao3 is the downfall of western civilization. but i do remember what it was like to be an asexual teen and feeling just constantly pressured into interacting with sexuality.
i grew up in a perfectly sex-positive household in an atheist culture and i had no issues with other people doing whatever, but i was so deeply, deeply uncomfortable with anyone insinuating or assuming anything sex-related about me. some of it was helplessly grappling with my autism and ocd and asexuality, but it's a LOT easier to figure out your relationship to sexuality when you're no longer in middle- or high school!! teens are awful!! classmates would ask me if i'm straight or gay and i would sincerely answer that i don't know, and somehow their reaction to that was shouting to the whole class that i was a necrophiliac. my own internet friends whomst i loved dearly would send me condoms for my 16th birthday and write a fanfic about my future self where i would meet their headcanon for my ideal husband because they had been theorizing about what my sex life would be like. one of our teachers made a legitimate effort to give us good and comprehensive sex ed, but like, everyone was constantly giggling and making jokes and making it very difficult for anyone to take anything seriously or ask genuine questions. and yeah, this was before there was any widespread understanding of sexuality, so the assumption was very much that people who didn't want sex had something deeply medically wrong with them or were really super repressed. those were the only options!! and when enough people insist that you're Really Super Repressed and that you simply MUST have sex, it starts to feel a teensy bit coercive! god, i do Not miss being a teen.
i know times are... Weird. i know we live in a weird digital soup. i know we see young people make ignorant statements all the time and it feels dire. and at the same time, there's an obsession with gatekeeping teens from anything even remotely sexual, and i get Why, it's a Safety Thing, but also it's such a weird hipocrisy. to one moment despair over how uncomfortable young people are with sex, and another moment chase them with a broom if they look at some horny art. there's adults out there who should definitely know better who think it's Bad to teach teens sex ed. it seems to me that it's Not just young people who are steeped in puritanism. The Puritanism Comes From Somewhere, methinks.
iiiii don't know what's a good solution for young people to become more comfortable in their own skin, but i don't think pressuring them or condescending to them is gonna help? better and more accessible education, maybe. working to wear down stigma and shame. fighting unjust laws and regulations. i used to take courses for a program made to educate teenagers about sexuality, gender and breaking down normative thinking, and we were explicitly told that we cannot expect to see results immediately (though i have some very fond memories of kids that DID catch on really fast). We had to see it more as planting a seed, providing a foundation for thoughts to flourish later. sometimes that's the best you can do!
or maybe i'm wrong about the state of the world because i'm not on tiktok and never will be. peace

actually, while I'm making non-fandom Opinionposts: a lot of my takes on social media art can be explained by my belief that audience attention ("engagement", in this context) is a gift freely given by the prospective audience, rather than a compensation artists are owed for making art.
wanting gifts is cool and fine! wanting a specific kind of gift (thoughtful reviews, reblogs, subscribtions) is cool and fine! asking politely for the gifts you want is cool and fine! joining a secret santa (follow4follow, artist engagement tag, book club, etc) is cool and fine! power 2 you! and yes, there are social norms around gift giving and gift reciprocating that crop up in various social circles, defying which may be considered rude.
however: throwing a fit, making guilt tripping posts, etc. because of not getting the gifts you wanted is Kind Of Annoying. and acting like people can "steal" the attention (certain types of) artists are "owed" is wrong. and Kind Of Annoying!

ok kinda not shitposting for once, opinionposting ??? (is that a word ?)
i’m gonna be perfectly honest and say i don’t really get the hype over the George DeValier fanfics
to elaborate: i know that they are generally well written (good word use/grammar n what not) because i’ve read the first few chapters of AWS but like. the ships and concepts are what put me off to them
i REALLY dislike usuk/spamano/pruaus/etc. the only fic that has a ship i don’t dislike in it is AWS. and i have gripes with that fanfic for different reasons
they way they frame the concept in AWS just makes me uncomfortable (idk if my media literacy just sucks but i’ll let you be the judge of that) and as a huge gerita shipper it feels a little isolating to not enjoy this fanfic everyone likes so much
and i don’t really see people talking about it (not that i want people to be haters, i just want to have more nuanced discussions about it)
of course if you enjoy those fanfics no hate to you, and i’m open to discussion to see different opinions on the matter, my dms/asks are always open
