(Who better to get me out of a six-year art block than the awful robot man who lives rent-free in my brain now?) OC No. 5 - Corvus

Decided on a whim to make a Lombax OC...so here he is. Meet Corvus

Age: 20

Pronouns: He/Him

Gender: Male

Sexuality: Aroace

Backstory: he was trafficked as a rare species for boltionares of the galaxy since Lombax's were really rare, sold from person to person for whatever they wanted. He managed to escape one day and has been on the run trying to make a living via hoverboard races. The chunk missing in his right ear is from where he ripped his identification tag off

I would have imagined that Young Ford would do Clank’s Giggle (considering that I am guessing that his young self almost sounds like Clank to me)

Finally got around to finishing up this ref sheet. Since Ace's younger self will be appearing in some flashbacks in the upcoming Comic episode(s), I needed a good reference for him as a teenager! His superhero outfit was different back in these days, and he's younger (18) so he is a bit smaller than his current adult self is (Verpardi are fully grown around age 22+)

Times were very rough for him back in those days. Not just because he was kidnapped and forced to compete, but because of a big disaster that had struck around that time to his home planet & team. Ace was constantly being slandered on Vox news and was shunned by everyone, including the other kidnapped superheroes. He also had no one at his side, he fought alone. Yet despite all that, he was determined to fight on and get through DreadZone so that he could escape and find out the truth behind what had happened. But as he rose through the ranks, the audience started to praise him, the ratings for DreadZone were skyrocketing and his anger towards the other kidnapped heroes was rising at the same time...

Am I the only one who can see the resemblance between Ratchet's story and Luke Skywalker's? He is a lonely boy who has been raised as an orphan on a desertic planet, and he suffered a change of life events when he met a robot and also got to be mentored by an elder (Alister Azimuth) of his own race, which rings a bell to Luke and Obi-Wan's relationship with The Force as they are Jedi, and I'd like to imagine that the Lombax were some sort of legendary warriors or wizards, pretty much powerful and clever like the Jedi. Also, Ratchet once believed he was no one until he bumped into Alister and told him the truth about his father, another possible reference of what Obi-Wan told Luke about Anakin.

Did the creators try to tell us something with this, or is it just my imagination?

As for my second fave R&C game, it's gotta be Tools of Destruction!

While my love for A Crack in Time comes from me truly believing it is one of the best games in the series... this isn't the case with Tools of Destruction. I know it's not the best, but I love this game a lot. I have a ton of fond memories with it, and it's one of the most fun games in the series for me to replay, thanks to how brutal it can be when doing no-armor runs (which is basically how I play all R&C games lol).

Plus, Tools introduced my second favorite Ratchet & Clank character, a good chunk of my favorite weapons, has some banger music, and the environments are PHENOMENONAL. Not to mention how rad those Leviathan designs are!

My nostalgia doesn't blind me; I know it's a buggy mess. But it's my buggy mess. <3

*The Devil was about to shoot fire from his pitchfork but suddenly stops in realisation and confusion by what Cuphead had said.*

Devil: Wait, what? That doesn’t make any sense. 🤨

Cuphead: Sure it did. 😉

Devil: No, it didn’t. It sounded like you were combining “The joke is on you” with “I’ll have the last laugh”. 😕

Cuphead: Take your pick. 🤷🏾

Devil: That’s NOT how it works! 😡

*A few arguments later…*

Devil: (pinching the bridge of his nose) Ugh! My point is, if you’re going to use a one-liner, it should make sense, and be relevant to the situation!

Cuphead: Look, I workshop thousands of these once a month, and they can’t be all gold! Now give it up already! 😠

Devil: Over YOUR dead body! 👿
