HI all! I decided to make one of the popular "YouTube is changing my life" videos because it's true! and I find it interesting to watch these videos myself so I hope you enjoy my take on it :) Thank you all for over 100 subs! I never thought I would reach this goal so this means a lot to me :)

Ixhika's studyblr 𐙚 (introduction)

I started my studyblr not long ago then a week I guess ? No body knows bout me yet tho but that doesn't matter for me...what matters is that this is my blog - MY JOURNEY

Myself Ishika a.k.a eunhee

She/her - INFP - capricorn - age 15 and half (yes I am small comparable to my class because I skipped several classes)

Born on 11 january......

I would say I am 5'5 and healthy weight (so you all can visualise me if you want)

A high-school student from India- 11th grader - non medical, Which means my subjects particularly are:

• Mathematics (weakest subject for me)

• Chemistry (love and hate relationship)

• Physics (second fab)

• English (oml fab)

• Computer science (piece of cake for me)

I actually started my studyblr because I lost interest in studies while ago because of all the stress and pressure.

when I see the studyblr community I actually feel really United yk what I mean...

There are lot of things that interest me like seriously.....

Dance , singing , playing basketball , editing videos ,

writing books (fanfics , thriller , actions mostly) ,

programming ( I am actually a full stack web app developer) ,

Baking , stock market ( if you know what I mean) , learning korean (I am kinda trying¿)

Well I am into kpop and kdrama too

Targets : 🎯

I am actually currently aiming for 11th final exam GPA to be 4.7 atleast

Next milestone is of 12th boards final exam GPA to be around same 4.7

Most important milestone and the second final one is that JEE MAINS AND ADVANCE exam (yes I am a jee aspirant)

I want to do something related computer science yk and forensic science so I dunno

My back up is a lawyer/judge in business because I am actually really good in social science subjects yk and business interests me a lot so yeaa

Final milestone is that I want to be a dance choreographer.....that's actually my dream...idc it can even be part time but I am not gonna abandon it.

High School Tracking Blog

I'm making this blog with the purpose of using it as a way to keep me motivated and accountable throughout high school. I just started my second semester of freshman year and it feels like it went by so quickly. In the future when applying to colleges or feeling nostalgic, I want something I can look back on. As well, I want something to use to track my goals, achievements, and daily activities. Productivity and organization are some of the most important things to me. Recently, however, many obstacles have gotten in the way of that. I want to use this blog as a way to hold myself accountable.

Always, I want to be honest about what I did on here. I am not creating this for clout or for recognition. This is mostly a personal tool. But finding other people on here, exg. studyblr, who have the same goals is motivating. Even if I had a bad day where I didn't complete any work, I don't want to post and say I did everything I wanted to make myself feel better. This will probably be something no one ever sees, but I'm okay with that. My academics are incredibly important to me, and I put a lot of effort into maintaining my grade.

I also want to use this as a way to focus myself away from time wasters. I spend more time than I would like on youtube and other things like that. Even with the smallest amount of free time, I want to do something witht hat time instead of just wasting that time. I might post my screen time at times, as I want to lower it.

My largest academic interests are Linguistics and Mathematics. I'm going to be taking many AP classes next year and the following so I give myself time to start teaching myself the curriculum ahead of time. I also want to be consistent in thorough in studying for sat/psats. I always have troubles with studying. When I sit down to review, I don't know what to do. I already know all the material I review and it feels like a waste of time. Despite this, I will try to find time for it, and motivation.

Arts

I'm enrolled into band class, but it is not something I am very passionate about. I appreciate what it for what it is. But because it is only required for 2 years, I will not be taking it as soon as possible. I also am teaching myself guitar. I really enjoy rock music and would love to start a band. In a world where I have enough time, enough people interested, and a way to get everyone in the same place at the same time. My main track in school currently is Visual Arts, it is not the career I want to pursue. I really enjoy creating art. Graphite is something I very enjoy. Next year, I take AP art. There's a lot of summer work for that class I want to start on as soon as possible because there is many pieces in the assignment. As well, I need to practice my instrument more for band. I can tell that I am a weak link in our band department, which is very small.

Commitments

I've been hurting to make a list of everything I'm responsible for / commited to. I'm a secretary on the research team at my school. I have research to do and planning about my school credits. I contests for art I always need to be entering. I need to draw more. I have to practice a lot more. I should be doing a lot of research and prep for college and other programs. Planning for summer programs and post secondary application. Writing the essays. I have the club I started at school, MUN. Increasing the amount of members in it. Brainstorming ways to increase participation. Working on finding conferences to attend. Learning more about procedure.

As well I am learning two languages. I've been learning Spanish for 3 years and think I'm decent. I have spanish speaking family, so I can practice with them. As well I am teaching myself Russian, in contrast to Spanish which I am learning in a classroom setting. I always can be practicing those. I can always be tyding my room and keeping it cleaner. I am also writing a story. My ideal end goal woul dbe to have an animated TV series at some point in my life about this story. However, I think i will pursue it as a personal project to make a graphic novel or manga of it. I enjoy writing, but i dont want to take a creative writing class. I am also interested in music making, a family member gifted me a few pieces of equipment that I have not gotten much use out of. However, I would love to do it more. I'm sure I have countless more commitments, ones that I cannot think of at the moment. In the future, for moments like these where I cant remember all that i am tied to, I want to be able to use this blog as a steadfast reference.

I want to make a small post everyday of what I accomplished that day, highlights, lows, and any other information. Like an online diary. I may as well post intermediately of longer topics. I will probably update this post every-few months. I think this will be effective, It will be most effective if I avoid distraction of Youtube and of this site when I go online to make posts. I appreciate this.

My unit is very small so I normally study at the library or a cafe… but my city is going through huge weather problems so nowhere is open… so I’ve made myself a little study nook.

- V grateful to be able to get a proper coffee from the cafe next door.

Now to get some work done because first exams are approaching!

what i've learned from one year in uni

...as a humanities student focussing on languages and history.

do all your readings at least a week in advance. honestly a lifesaver. make a list of the readings you'll need to have done for the next week and divvy them up along the current week.

annotate your readings. either by hand, or download them, import to a pdf annotation app (or just google drive) and make comments/highlight important parts,

don't sign up for early or late classes, especially if you're a commuter. i signed up for a 9-11 AM class and a 6-8 PM class and they were both hell even if I enjoyed the material. Don't do it.

join the class group chat. if there isn't one, make one. you might not think you need it, but you do, you really do.

if you can't get yourself to do the whole reading, read the first sentence of every paragraph. listen, we've all been there when the reading is 36 pages and you're just not feeling it. most well-written academic articles start with a topic sentence that will give you a sense of the general direction of the work, so skimming the first sentence of each paragraph can actually equip you better than nothing for your discussions.

the syllabus is your bible. read it THOROUGHLY at the beginning of term and reference it CONSTANTLY.

skip lectures. NEVER skip tutorials. it's better to not skip lectures either but sometimes they're just not helpful. but ALWAYS go to tutorial.

find out your task capacity and worship it. i can't allocate myself a certain number of hours of work a day because sometimes i can work for 10 hours and sometimes i can barely focus for two. however, i can generally manage around 5 academic tasks a day. so I'll allocate myself two readings, an outline, a draft and a note-taking session and that works pretty well for me.

I've always felt like my pics weren't aesthetic enough for this community which is stupid if I think about it for 1 second. This is about progress and learning, not wasting time trying to take a pretty picture (which may come as a talent for many people, but not me). So my first original post in almost 2 years .... Ta da ! I'm currently part of a book club and we are reading 'La Sombra del Viento' from Carlos Ruíz Zafón ♥️ today I'm going to be hosting the online meeting so I made a few notes.

PD. I always put leaves or flowers in books. So when I take a book from my bookcase I have to be careful of things falling off !

Best feedback from a teacher/professor?

Honestly, nothing specific comes to mind. However, there was one teacher who always saw me as more of a human than a student, and acknowledged my accomplishments outside of her subject, and tried to find the parallels between them, in order to motivate me. Somehow she always seemed to know how my mind worked, even though we didn’t talk much about personal things.

Best study tip?

When preparing for language speaking assessments, remember strings of vocab, rather than whole sentences - it makes your answer seem more spontaneous and natural. You can also use this preparation to use much more high-quality vocab, if you’re not focusing on remembering every detail to a sentence.
