Splat 4 Headgear shopkeeps

(these are not final, the anemone is supposed to be far darker)
These two, Quill the feather star (they/them) and Acapella the anemone (she/her) are the shop keepers of Feather In Your Cap, the headgear shop.
Acapella runs the main shop for just headgear with her bed of garden eels and is an absolute stickler for the rules. She tries to be kind but her companions are all a hive mind of negativity save one. There is a very rare chance when you enter the shop that one or more eels will be missing and Acapella will be wearing a face mask and acting very dodgily about her missing eels (the only eel that will never go missing is the one with the flower, the positive one)
Quill, on the other hand, is far more lax and goes with the flow. They introduce a new gear feature - Badges, which is generally just small accessories you can add to your hat, shirt or shoes for a bit of customizing. The accessories (badges, necklaces, rings, bracelets, piercings, or other doodads of that sort) also give newbies an edge by providing one sub of an ability (only base abilities, no Respawn Punisher or Comeback or the like) to include a total of 6 sub slots (the other 3 being taken by their one star gear sub slots). The more someone levels up their gear and gets a new sub slot, the less Badges are able to be active. You can still wear them with full star gear, but they will have no sub slot effect. It's good for players just starting out and for pro's leveling up their new gear (or for those just wanting to be fashionable). Quill is the only shopkeeper who won't kick you out if you're not fresh enough, in fact if you go to Feather In Your Cap before participating in any battles as a newbie, Quill with give you a few random basic Badges completely for free to help you get started and not absolutely wrecked in Turf.

Imagine if Callie had won Splatoon’s final splatfest. How different do you think the Squid Sisters' storylines would've been with this role swap due to their contrasting personalities? Also, would Callie have a podcast while Marie took on acting, or would it stay the same in this alternate timeline?
I always felt like the idea of an "evil Marie" was a cool concept. I feel like Marie going through a corruption arc makes sense for her character/personality and it's such a raw idea. Like the fan art of "Hypno Marie" as people dub her is INSANE! IT'S SO GOOD! People give her crazy outfits it's awesome.
In terms of story and what differences there would be. I feel like the Squid Sisters slowly breaking apart still happens and Marie is constantly overthinking her relationship with Callie after the final Splatfest. Maybe Marie has taken up modelling and acting while Callie is busy with blogging and podcasting. Marie is a heavy introvert and all of that insane attention would cause her to snap and run away from it all. And that's where she meets Octavio at some point.
Now, unlike Callie, Marie seems to have something against the Octarians and has adopted some of the viewpoints from her grandpa judging from her dialogue in Splatoon 1 and 2. BUT! This could just bad translation and maybe Marie doesn't hate the Octarians in the Japanese version as I've heard some people say but, I'm not too sure. I need to look into it more. I'm not a Marie expert, I'm a Callie expert lmao.
Maybe Marie doesn't trust Octavio and doesn't want to go with him to Octo Canyon at first, but maybe after some convincing and manipulation, she goes with him and sees that the Octarians are struggling. Maybe she's like "oh i didn't know your people were struggling, i had no idea, maybe i was wrong about them... I'll help you out."
Instead of Hypnoshades she gets a... uh... hypno gas mask idfk, and she breathes in this air that relaxes her and ensures that she doesn't suddenly change her mind and run away at random.
Callie taking up the role of teaching and guiding Agent 4 would be a very fun dynamic and maybe she's more vocal about Marie being missing and doesn't hide it unlike how Marie doesn't talk that much about Callie until sector 4.
Maybe Callie feels guilt and shame and she thinks that she was the one who caused Marie to go missing and we see that in side dialogue or something.
The final boss would be the same except the music is in reverse, so we get a Tide Goes Out remix and Callie is the one who sounds like she's about to cry when singing Tidal Rush while Marie is fighting back. That would be such a cool remix of Tidal Rush not gonna lie.
And then Callie throws a splat bomb at Marie's face to destroy the mask so she can snap out of hypnosis and Callie plays the Calamari Inkantation after a bit, blah blah blah. You know what happens.
Those were some ideas i had, i would love Splatoon to do an evil Marie at some point, but, I'm guessing that won't happen because Marie has already matured and grown and it wouldn't make sense to do it at this point. Oh well! At least we got fan art and fanfiction.

Splatoon 🎨🔫‼️‼️
have you thought about writing for any of the squidbeak characters with a fuzzy reader? like the agents, captain 3, agent 4 and 8 and new 3.
you can pick anyone you like or all four (or any character you like), reader can be a fuzzy inkling or octoling. i just really like the whole fuzzy situation in splat 3 story mode‼️
I haven't thought about it, but it's honestly a really cool concept! Thank you for the idea anon :]
Also, sorry for the wait!
Now onto the thingies
‧₊˚✧[ The Agents w/ a Fuzzy Reader ]✧˚₊‧
(🎨🔫👨❤️💋👨💭) - splatoon headcanons
‧₊˚ ⋅ 𓐐𓎩 ‧₊˚ ⋅
- - - - - - -
Captain 3
You guys met in the Crater
You're an inkling
Cap was about to ambush you, but quickly realized you weren't a threat, so they backed down
(Cuttlefish was still skeptical though)
So now you guys just hang out a lot
You've got claws, so you might've accidentally scratched them at some point if you're clumsy
They don't mind it, though. Just another scar to add to the collection. It's not the worst one they have
Cap is 50% serious and 50% goober, so do with that information what you will
If they're ever feeling down you can give em a hug and that'll instantly brighten their day
Cap and the rest of the Squidbeak Splatoon run tests on you to help understand you and the fuzzy ooze (and to find a cure), but it's nothing extreme, just simple things that probably won't overwhelm you
But yeah you both are honestly glad you picked each other up
Kinda unrelated, but if it's long enough and you let her, Callie would def braid your hair while you, her, and Marie gossiped
Agent 4
You guys met on the outskirts of inkopolis
You're an inkling
You had accidentally strayed away from your fuzzy army and had wandered outside of town, just near Agent 4's house
They saw you in a really bad state, so they were nice enough to take you in, not realizing that you were a 'potential threat'
You two instantly hit it off
4 often talked about their studies in college, and you always helped them since you were quite smart
4, when not engrossed in their studies, is also a goober
Gives you stupid nicknames like "mama/papa bear"
Cuddles are also very much so appreciated
They'd smother you, stuffing their face into your fur
They're your #1 hypeman (or woman)
When you guys go chill in inkopolis square, you usually wore a hoodie to hide your hair
However, 4 eventually got you to come out of your shell and wear it less often
And they will deal with anyone that bullies you for it >:[
But you guys make the perfect team
Agent 8
You guys met over by Grizzco in Inkopolis Square
You're an octoling
They found you hiding near all the clutter, and ever since then, y'all have been joined at the hip
8 understands how you feel and what it's like to be an 'outcast', so it helps to know that
Since you're both octolings, you guys sometimes talk how your lives were in the army
Just like the other two, cuddles are always welcome
8 sometimes calls you a teddy bear when you do it
8 might take you to meet Pearl, Marina, and Acht in the square, to which you thought they were all super cool
It's like a mini friend group
The both of you aren't really big on talking (especially since you didn't really understand inkling all that much), but you talk through looks and touch
You and 8 understand each other, and you're glad you were hanging out by all thay clutter
Neo 3
You guys met in Alterna
You're an octoling
Neo was on a mission and was about to splat you when they realized that you were unarmed and just trying to get out of the level
They took you back to the Squid Sister's camp and, just like Captain, had to run tests and stuff
It took a while for them to like you (since you were considered an enemy)
But they eventually warmed up enough
They're willing to fight anyone who doesn't back off after they bully you about being fuzzy
Tell them your favorite food, they will buy you 4 pounds of it
They weren't big on cuddling first, but now they absolutely love it when you do it
Sometimes Smallfry cuddles with you, and sometimes, he tries to eat your fur, thinking it's a fuzzball
You don't mind it though, you find it quite funny, anyways
Calls you stupid in an endearing way
While it did take a while for them to get used to you, when they did, they couldn't have been a more caring s/o

Thoughts on Splatfests Affecting the Next Game
so we've only had two so far, but i think the way these wins are framed in game and how they're treated narratively is important in terms of making splatoon 4 predictions.
The way that Final Fest results affect the future of splatoon is Culturally and In Universe, while also having out of universe elements.
As the playerbase, we repersent the opinions of the Inkfish! And when a choice wins, that means that in canon, that choice is more popular. that is how it works. so when it comes to final fests, what does that mean?
For spaltoon one to two, it became so that Marie was more popular than Callie. And they both went off on solo careers, etc etc. The effect of Splatoon in universe was Marie's popularity, which influenced Callie's mindset in Splat 2, etc. Out of universe, it meant Marie was liked more, so they put her in the story mode as your guide. Callie is still central, she gets a cool boss fight. Callie as a concept does not cease to be, nor is she suddenly like, hated. She's just slightly less popular.
For splatoon two to three, it became that Chaos was more popular than order. And culturally, that became the case for Inkfish! The entire Splatlands didn't suddenly become (inuniverse) bcs chaos won, it was already a chaotic place and that love made it become more popular. Yes, out of universe it influenced the setting and design of Splatsville, but in universe, the splatlands have existed for ages. We still got side order DLC, the entire concept of any order wasn't entirely thrown out the window.
In both cases, it's not that things took a massive change from how they were or suddenly sprouted into existence, its just that, that's how people felt, thats what they trended towards. Chaos winning didn't make all of Inkcadia into a lawless wasteland with no structure at all. Marie winning didn't kill Callie.
We can't be sure of what'll happen with Splatoon four, but I think some predictions aren't really in line with whats happened before. A remake? that's a whole new stucture, and also just like. not really an ideal selling strat for a game like this? a turf war/legends arceus game? I can't be sure on that, but so much of splatoon's identity is wrapped up on it's EXCELLENT use of pop culture and how well it aligns to our real lives and the modern world. I trust the team wouldn't do that.
But i think we'll see in splatoon four that the inkfish of today start to care more about their history and their past. While some people have pointed out how important it is to live in the moment, and look to the future, i dont think acknowleging the past is a bad thing! i think splatoon four could do some really cool stuff with inkling and octoling histories while still being a modern game. Having everyone think more about how they got here, that's big for inkling culture! i like that!
and hey, maybe I'm wrong. but i think most of all, I'm jsut happy yo see where it goes. so i hope we all can enjoy what comes next together!
#splatoon#grandfest#grand festival#grand fest splatoon#team past#tldr i dont think time travel is happening guys but also i really hope it doesnt

My thoughts on Grand Festival and what that means for Splatoon 4
Had to make this, because as much as I love the concept of the finalfests determining the concept of the next game, I have some issues regarding this one.
1: I believe at some point the devs and Nintendo themselves have claimed that Splat 3 was the finale in the trilogy. Meaning the story of Squidbeak and the Octarians is over (they'll probably be referenced in future games, but the story is over). But that theory of if Past wins, 4 will be all about the Great Turf War. Which wouldn't make any sense, lore wise considering the concept of modern Turf Wars. And again, the story of the Squidbeak and Octarians is over, so why revisit it?
2: I think even though the past 2 games had some sway in the concept of the next game, it's only been some small things, like concept of location and people (3 having Splatsville and Deep Cut representing Chaos' win) or storyline (2 having Callie be a key aspect of the main campaign). But other than that...not much else unless you count DLC? And again, it wouldn't make sense since the trilogy storyline is over.
3: The question presented for this Splatfest is what's important to YOU. It is vague in its question, but it actually holds something if you consider the question about your own feelings of the past, present, or future. And some people did think about it that way, myself included (although I also just love OTH, but when the Splatfest was announced, I didn't know they would be representing it). But the other's I feel as though chose Past (and to some extent Future) because of the nostalgia of the 1st game. That isn't a bad thing, but what I guess I'm trying to get at is again, trilogy storyline is over.
I feel like this isn't really cohesive? But idk, I was thinking about it yesterday, and just think that Nintendo could've been a little bit more clear with this Splatfest. And I don't want this to seem as though those who chose the teams they did for the reasons they did are bad, that's not it. I guess, what I'm really trying to get at is that: WE DON'T KNOW WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS, THE PRESENT IS UNCLEAR, AND THE PAST IS FAR BEHIND US NOW.
Other than this ramble, I've been having a great time with the Grand Festival! Dare I say, this Splatfest has been my favorite since I got the game. I kinda hope this concept carries over into the next game (not for a finalfest, but this being the main thing for all Splatfests)
Anyway, good luck to everyone!

A RANT ABOUT THE NOZZLENOSE WEAPONS
I find it hilariously awful that directly after Grand Run, Nintendo decided to put the H-3 Nozzlenose as the FIRST WEAPON in the rotation roster for the new Salmon Run rotation...and then also put the L-3 Nozzlenose IN THE EXACT SAME SPOT for the one after that!
Now, I'm gonna go on a bit of a rant as to why I personaly think these weapons should be reworked ENTIRELY for Splatoon 4.
Every single weapon in Splatoon has one thing in common: You hold down the trigger, you can fire for as long as you have ink. It's consistent, it's great, and it makes it so you don't have to constantly tap the ZR button.
Guess what's missing from these two?
THEY. DON'T. AUTO. FIRE.
This ALONE honestly makes me want to never touch this weapon.
Personally, I think the whole concept of "constantly tapping the trigger" with this thing is incredibly stupid.
(This is just my opinion. If you use either [or both] of the Nozzlenose weapons and actually can use them really well, don't let me stop you, keep using them if you're comfy with them.)
If you ask me, the way to fix the Nozzlenose's problem without making it a full-on clone of another weapon is simple: Keep the way the weapon fires, but make it full-auto so players don't have to constantly hit the fire button. The "tap fire" thing on the Nozzlenose duo is not neccesary.
AND WE ALREADY HAVE A WEAPON THAT DOES THE WHOLE "TAP FIRE" THING, AND IT HAS A FULL AUTO MODE.
THE SQUEEZER. Tap the fire button once, you get a long-range, high-damage shot. Hold it down and you get a short-range, low-damage shot. I literally call this thing "the better Nozzlenose" because it actually has a full-auto mode, which every other weapon in the Splatoon series has.
-🔺💜🔵💕✍🏼-
Now, what about Salmon Run? That's why I made this post in the first place, after all.
Are the Nozzlenose weapons good there?
No. No it isn't. In fact, it's actually WORSE there, and I think a lot of people share my opinion on that.
In Salmon Run, there are salmonids EVERYWHERE. And not only do they come in the standard variety, there are also special event waves: Mothership, Grillers, Fog, Glowflies (called "Rush" in-game), Mudmouth Eruption, Goldie Seeking, Cohock Charge, Giant Tornado, and, of course, High/Low Tide.
A couple of those are no problem with ANY weapon, those being Mothership, Mudmouth Eruption, Giant Tornado, Goldie Seeking, Cohock Charge, Low Tide and Fog. Though it doesn't hurt to practice, as Salmon Run is known for being incredibly chaotic.
But the last 3 types, HOO boy.
The Grillers have a weak spot you need to hit, and if they have a lock on you (as shown by a red laser pointer line they aim at the player they're targeting), you need to run and gun or else you'll recieve what basically equates to a Salmonid Roller crush. And mind you, that weak spot is tiny, and the Griller constantly spins around. You see where I'm going with this? With the Nozzlenoses, you have to repeatedly tap the trigger button to hit that tiny-ass weak point. And mind you, you have to run AND shoot if they target you. Expect to see the "That's a wrap!" fail screen pretty darn quick if the last player alive in the Griller wave (either you or another player) has one of the Nozzlenoses.
Glowflies ("Rush") just sucks overall. One of the players will randomly get a bunch of glowflies following them. They aren't a helpful thing, though. It makes it so that every Salmonid on the map targets that one player. And with the Nozzlenoses, that's a guarenteed player down. You expect a weapon that has to be tap-fired to actually work well when you have about 100 enemy mooks (at BEST, mind you) all targeting you? Ehh, not saying it's impossible, bc there ARE people who use this weapon and are skilled with it, but it's HIGHLY unlikely.
High Tide is when the water surrounding the area (which, btw, INSTANTLY SPLATS YOU IF YOU TOUCH IT) raises up, limiting movement options. Even worse, it can be paired with other wave types to make things THAT much worse for you. The Nozzlenoses were not built for fighting in certain special waves, but throw in the High Tide event with it, and kiss that teammate (or you) goodbye. Expect to see a downed player you need to revive, unless, again, they're somewhat skilled with the weapon.
Oh, that's right! I forgot the whole revival system! See, in Salmon Run, you don't respawn the traditional way. In order to revive, one of your teammates has to hit the life ring you spawn back in on, and THEN you can fight again. Imagine if someone with either of the Nozzlenoses tried to revive you while fighting off something like a Steel Eel, all 3 shots fired by the Nozzlenose miss ANY player, and then they get splatted by said Steel Eel, causing you to lose the run in true bullshit fashion. Unfortunately, that's not exactly a hypothetical situation when it comes to the Nozzlenoses.
-🔺💜🔵💕✍🏼-
So what am I trying to say here? MAKE THE NOZZLENOSE WEAPONS FULL-AUTO. It would fix every single problem I have with the weapon!
That, and remove them from Splatoon 3's Salmon Run weapon roster. In my honest opinion, they should've never been added in the first place.
(Again, I have to repeat this bc people might get on my ass if I don't: I AM NOT SAYING YOU SHOULD DITCH THE WEAPON IF YOU'RE COOL WITH IT. IF YOU USE ANY OF THE NOZZLENOSE WEAPONS AND ARE COOL WITH IT, THEN YOU DO YOU. THESE ARE SIMPLY MY OPINIONS.)
That is all. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk about these godforsaken weapons. Goodbye.

What Gluubilis Splat is Tumblr Most Like?
The polls are complete, it's time to analyze the results. Clearly these were fair polls and there was no bias introduced by some of them being much funnier/more interesting than others, or the fact that some like Persona/Star Quality or Vastness/Child of the Ash really need more space to explain the concepts than tumblr polls will allow. None whatsoever.
(Using the Nobilis/Glitch titles because they fit on the graph better).
As we can see, Wanderer/Called Away is by far the most popular miraculous arc among tumblr users. What's particularly interesting though is that Gardener/A Keeper of Gardens is #2! The natural conclusion from this is that tumblr users fucking love Realms.
#3 and #4, Monstrous/Indomitable and Lore/Gatekeeper deal with being a monster and befriending/binding monsters respectively, which also makes a great deal of sense to me on the monsterfucker website.
The bottom of the scale includes a lot of highly customizable arcs, the ones where you build your own powers. Persona and Vastness may have had some poll quality issues as mentioned, but I'm genuinely surprised that Eide is so low.
To absolutely no one's surprise, Tumblr is Sickly. A lot of that is down to Wanderer/Called Away, obviously. Immortal arcs tended to perform the best on average, but you just can't compete with that.
The most popular kind of arc is - once again no great surprise - Otherworldly. Bindings, Aspect and Shepherd are all about the same in second-ish place though, which is surprising! I would have thought Emptiness would do better!
At this point we can construct our tumblr splat. We could, of course, just take the top four arcs. But I think it's more interesting to compare Tumblr's results to the existing ones. I could probably have done some regressions here and been fancy about it but let's just go by raw popularity because I'm lazy.
Tumblr, collectively, is a Magister of Game! Yeah! That sounds about right!
Angel being the most popular non-Wanderer/Called Away splat is weird, but it's basically the only splat of those remaining where every arc performed at least decently. Strangely, the top Excrucian are the Warmains! I would have guessed Strategist, but what do I know.

hiiii, beck! I LOVE asking people random questions so here goes:
What is your favorite book you've read this year?
What is your least favorite book you've read this year?
What are your 3-10 favorite books?
Top 5 tv shows?
Top 5 movies?
Favorite d&d class to play?
Top 1-5 out of context dnd session quotes? (in or out of character)
and, most importantly: silliest dnd character concept you've ever come up with, regardless of whether or not you've played them.
(My answer for the last one is a thri-kreen swords bard (he/they/it/she) who played bagpipes and dual-wielded scimitars simultaneousy. Because thri-kreen also have telepathy, they can ALSO sing at the same time. I played him for a "oneshot" that ended up being 3 sessions. At the end of the last session, it was on 0hp with 2 failed death saves, stuck to the top of a cave due to Reverse Gravity. The Reverse Gravity spell dropped, and they were going to fall. The wizard had Feather Fall and could have saved her, but I told him not to do it because "When else am I going to get to die via bug-splatting? Let alone as a bug?" So they died, and afterwards one of the other players said "RIP Kiran. Bugs and kisses." and I absolutely lost it laughing.)
~ Morri (@memento-morri-writes)
(P.S. - I got to play Rook today (two weeks in a row!! a miracle!!!) and we fought a monster that I made the stat block for, and it was VERY fun. :3 I love dnd.)
hello !!!
1: fav this year is probably my catching fire reread :]
2: not really a "book" but I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream. i see all it's value as foundational to the genre and unique for its time but unfortunately i just had like.... a lot of critiques also, LMAO.
3: Blue Lily Lily Blue, Catching Fire, The Boy Who Steals Houses, Death Note, and the Lies of Locke Lamora are in my top 5 books of all time I think.
4: The Good Place, Interview With the Vampire (so far), House MD (in a. very very VERY love-hate way), Arcane, and Vox Machina. The Good Place will always have my heart the most I think.
5: Heathers (1989), Nosferatu (2024), Across the Spider-Verse (2023), Tick Tick BOOM! (2021), and either Us (2019) or Jennifer's Body (2009) for 5th place.
6: WIZARD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
7:
Whole party: (holding hands and chanting) "We're good. We're good."
NPC: (walking in) "Uh..."
Party: (jumps apart)
Monk: (pointing at Barbarian, Druid, and Wizard respectively) "HE'S IN CONTROL OF HIS EMOTIONS, HE'S AN ENIGMA, AND HE HAS NO COMMITMENT ISSUES!"
Wizard: (pointing at monk) "AND HIS PROBLEMS ARE ENTIRELY OUT OF HIS CONTROL!"
Druid: "AND HE HAS AN AVERAGE SIZED COCK, TOO!"
Barbarian: "MORE THAN AVERAGE!"
NPC: ....
NPC: ....
NPC: "Okay."
8: The silliest DND character concept i've played is my little deer guy who's full of undiagnosed ADHD and does literally everything to make their wife happy. every single conversation manages to mention that their wife is an incredibly esteemed academic and they're on some sort of errand or insane quest to help her. i think your bug lad sounds very silly askjdbkasjbd and that is such a way to go out
i'm glad you got to play rook again!!!!!! pray for me gang it's been a month and i still have to wait 2 more weeks before i can play dnd!arthur again :(

So is 4 traumatized from being parallel cannon? And if so does 3 help or sympathize with her? Since they know what it feels like to be controlled
My Four is separate from Parallel Canon so this turned into a word vomit dump about how it works sorry (also i've been working on this since i got the ask since i actually have Motivation for once and im scared to see how long this took)
I'm interpreting Parallel Canon as a modification of the initial security system that was based off of data collected from Four.
My current concept is that the security system was created by Four fighting an incredibly basic simulation of an inkfish enemy that when splatted, respawned with recorded data from a mask that Four was wearing (along with the basic starting data extracted from a bunch of videos of Four going through Octo Canyon) which allowed the simulation to learn, making it get a little better at combat each time. The reason it was done like this and not just copying Four's soul is because Marina has Ethics and didn't want to Ship-of-Theseus her security system.
The end result is something weaker than the original, due to a slew of different factors (primarily worse improvisational skills.). Though the numbers difference should (in theory) make the difference negligible. After all, quantity is a quality in itself.
Parallel Canon differs from the original security system in that instead of a team of equals, it's a hierarchical system, with one "alpha" and a slew of lesser copies, each with the added abilities to summon Jelletons and mimic the color chips of the enemy's palette. The Alpha itself is derived from the original system and combined with a copy of the "soul data" from Four's palette for an extra boost, which is then copied again for the drones. Though each time the data is copied, it loses "potency", meaning that a drone with soul data straight from the palette would be 3-4 times as strong as a drone copied from the alpha. This is done to save processing power, as instead of a bunch of power-sucking supersoldiers, there's one and a bunch of less annoying scraps. (This is also why they are sent out in waves, to save processing power)
To maintain effectiveness, the lesser drones function similar to the Geth from Mass Effect, meaning that the more there are on the field, the sharper their mental faculties become. By doing this, it allows the drones to each be of similar competency to the Alpha when in large enough numbers, while making it less strenuous on the system by having them support eachother. (Don't @ me about the logic Marina made a full-dive VR that eats souls)
While the Parallel Canon are an overall improvement on the original security system in nearly every way, it shares a weakness with the original: the age-old strategy of "divide and conquer." Individually, the Canon soldiers are about on-par with a standard inkfish, so while it would be a toss-up against a normal invader, against someone like Eight, it's a bloodbath, and it only gets worse as more fall due to the Geth-like modification made by Order.
Back to the soul data, luckily the palette isn't enough to make an actual copy of Four, only making the Alpha like a Four-based chatbot. Emulating her behaviors the best it can with the restrictions put upon it by Order and its environment, though it's not actually alive, just responding to stimuli in a Four-like manner without any thought or intention behind the behaviors. (The drones also have an amount of variation due to imperfections in the copying process, as the initial copy was modified to learn towards combat skills, but a small error remained in the process that made subsequent copies lean towards random personality traits (the copy preference no longer had a target due to the battle data already being maxed out, so it defaulted to random), though they are even less "alive" than the Alpha)
TL;DR: The original security system was a machine learning algorithm that was based off of and fought Four to advance in skill, which was then modified and subsequently copied into the current form of Parallel Canon, meaning that Agent Four and the Alpha Canon are two separate entities.
TL;DRTTL;DR: Four fought a robot a bunch and doesn't even know what a "Parallel Canon" is.

Then!! OE!! The vibe here too is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! &. I lovelovelove the whole sanitization concept SO MUCH. Tartar. My absolute cinema of a character, augu
The levelss are so fun!! Really hard sometimes too but hey a nice challenge!! Im glad I had already finished Rotm b4 the OE target levels so they were a breeze for me compared To Rotm's 💀

Hello and happy new year! I hope your day is going wonderfully!
I am in a little bit of a slump writing this fic of mine, and I was wondering if you would share some of your infinite Whump wisdom
My characters were in a ww1 era plane that’s been shot down, and the co-pilot in the front took the heaviest hits. Do you have any ideas regarding dialogue, actions or anything that would really sell that character A is injured and character B is super concerned?
Thank you so much for your help!!!
Hi there! Oooh WWI aviation? I love that! Well let's see if I can offer any help. Survival rates for pilots that were shot down in WW1 were pretty much none existent. If you got shot down you were most likely dying. Landing was nearly impossible, parachutes weren't in use until 1917/18 so if you chose to bail you were pretty much gonna die on landing. But let's suspend belief for the sake of the story! I do that a lot lol.
Okay, I would like to first recommend checking out Masters of the Air which is airing now (there's 4 episodes out right now). This show tells the story of the 100th Bomb Group of the 8th Air Force during WWII. While they were flying B-17 bombers during the second world war instead of the Fokker or Sopwith Camels used during WW1, the concepts of what the men would say and act when one of their comrades is injured can easily be applied to WW1. You might find some inspiration there.
Here's a good link you could check out that discuss what it was like flying, being injured/shot down. They might offer some inspiration as well.
This link in particular is fascinating and I think you might like this quote: "I felt the machine lurch, I turned my head over my shoulder and I saw that my pilot was sunk on the controls. There was a rasping sound and the engine had stopped and there was I, suspended in the air with a dead pilot, Huns, bullets, wings all round me and I looked up to the heavens and I said ‘Oh, God help me’. The next thing I remember was having a sledge hammer blow in my head and I put my hand to my helmet and I found it all jagged and torn, a certain amount of blood. Then I had a blackout, and I fell through the air, I think like a falling leaf or a wounded or injured bird. And I think it was the upward rush of the air that brought me to my senses. I had presence of mind to pull on the joy stick to break the fall and the machine staggered and stalled and fell on some trees."
This link has some great answers that I think you'd like: https://www.quora.com/What-procedure-must-a-ww1-pilot-do-when-their-plane-is-shot-down-especially-when-they-dont-bring-a-parachute
This link has some good information too: https://www.team-bhp.com/news/evolution-fighter-planes-during-world-war-i
And this had some stories from flyers: https://www.worldwar1centennial.org/index.php/stories-of-the-flyers.html
Now I'm going to assume that in your story here they were able to land their plane successfully without just going splat like the gentleman in the quote above so if you got two guys who were just shot down and one is hurt, here are some things to think about:
Are they in enemy territory or did they manage to limp/jump out/land in allied ground? If they're in enemy territory they're going to want to get away from the plane as fast as possible to avoid being captured by the enemy. With an injure co-pilot that's going to be incredibly difficult.
Your co-pilot is injured. How badly? Is it survivable? Or is he already bleeding out? Does your other character recognize that his copilot is about to die or does he have a chance to save him? He'll need to get his friend out of the plane and that won't be easy. Between the pain of the injuries and the awkward way you have to get in and out of a WW1 era plane I'm sure your injured party will be doing some screaming and writhing there.
Your other character is probably feeling afraid, frantic, torn between trying to save his friend first and making sure they don't get caught by the enemy at the same time. He's gotta move quickly to pull his friend from the plane, staunch any bleeding, and get them somewhere relatively safe.
Soldiers were equipped with basic first aid kits that they carried with them so your co-pilot could pull that out, grab a bunch bandages and treat any injury he needed to. Here's a picture of one used by German pilots for inspiration:
Some classic dialogue prompts for a soldier trying to reassure their friend who is badly injured:
It's gonna be okay.
It's no that bad.
We'll be home in no time.
Just hang in there.
Have your uninjured party talk to the injured pilot as well. You could have him tell stories to distract him from the pain. Anything that comes to his mind. Stories about his home maybe.
This is all probably more than you asked for lol but I love studying aviation history so you hit a hyperfixation of mine. Hopefully something here sparks some inspiration for you!!

HAAAAAIIII ASRA....
I think that clam blitz is a shitty game mode that attempts to take the core idea and concept that RM and TC have in their design, but bastardizes it. allow me to explain:
Terms and abriviations: TC = tower control RM = Rain maker CB = Clam Blitz SZ = Splat zones TW = Turf war
Splat zones is what i believe to be the core concept of what ranked modes are in splatoon, and how they should generally be handled. the core concept is taking an objective, and holding it from the enemy team. Tower control and Rainmaker follow this theme. where they differ is to give the enemy an even playing field, the objectives must move forward. The tower moves when you stand on it, and you have to move the rainmaker. simple. These are balance choices. The enemy has to travel less time to get to the objective now, and stop you (as well as a passive special meter fill if you don't have the objective). The objectives are also relatively simple to take back if you know what you're doing. Splat zones; ink the ground. Tower control; throw a bomb just right or shoot the person on the small tower platform. it can be easy to get people off if no one's defending it. Rainmaker; the objective is a lot more flex able, given a player is carrying it, but the slower swim and walking speed, the fact that the one holding it is marked on your map, and the slow fire speed leaves the rainmaker carrier very vulnerable if they're not properly defended.
The point im trying to illustrate here is that all of these modes have balances and decisions that revolve around what I believe to be the core concept of these ranked modes, as well as turf war; moving your line up. advancing
Splatoon isn't really a game where you "pierce" through the enemy lines to create an opening. Openings are create in big pushes and kills that allow the team to advance forward. In higher ranked modes, if you grab the objective immediately (specifically referring to RM and TC) it's likely that you're going to die. Usually, you're supposed to kill a few of the enemy team members (2 or 3) to give yourself that advantage to push forward. this can usually take a while. The point is, you're destroying the enemies resources, that being area denial in inking turf and splatting team members. The whole point is being able to hold your ground, and advancing it.
TC, RM, and SZ feed into this idea. TC advances the tower forward, both as a balancing decision and to move up your ground. RM is the same. you have to move up and advance your ground. SZ is again, defending a specific point. Clam blitz, in theory, does this as well. you have to take an objective, and move it forward. But in practice, it's taken this to the concepts worst extremes.
Firstly: you don't gain any advantage from getting a mega calm, or whatever it's called. With tower in TC, you automatically gain ground, and points as it advances. In RM, you get a big gun with a huge explosion that covers a lot of ground. The mega clam? The ability to open up the basket to score. The only "Advantage" you get when the enemy scores on you is...getting another mega clam. There is no inherent advantage gained when getting the Mega clam. Without these advantages, it makes it extremely difficult to move up the objective, and advance your lines. adding in the fact that there can be multiple mega clams at once, this creates a VERY scattered and unfocused objective to play around.
The lines aren't slowly being moved up, they have to be broken through, and then retreated. imagine if Rainmaker had 4 rainmakers per team, and you had to capture all four of them on a pedestal all the way near the enemies base. it'd suck. The game mode has next to zero objective focus.
That's the main issue; objective focus. It can be on any one person at any time, and be lost and shifts all over the map.
What often ends up happening is that one team gets a single mega clam on a basket, and then the game times out. either that, or the team wipes after the first basket break.
These are also just my thoughts from having played it in splatoon 2, and almost never playing it in splat 3. And the times when I do play it, it sucks. I want to play more of it to see if my gripes are really true or if Im just not getting it, but I genuinely think that this game mode should be done with in splatoon 4, or at the VERY least be made a game mode removed from ranked specifically. this shouldn't be tied to ranked.
A way that I could see Clam Blitz being fixed is if it was turned into a more football or soccer styled game mode, with maps made for it specifically. No tiny clams, only the mega clam that you have to get to the other teams base, and score 3 times to win. The ball resets at the center of the map with each score. There are ink and grind rails that help advance you forward if you use them.
I hope my point is illustrated at least somewhat competently here. I think that CB as a concept can work, but it's current state doesn't. i Belive I could've formulated my words better in the actual discussion of clam blitz section but I've been typing for a while
I'm literally just riffing this from my brain lol
anyways yeah I don't like Clam blitz.

without spoiling anything what does mr big splatoon think of side order
i cannot possibly give my proper thoughts WITHOUT spoiling anything so this is your warning
spoilers for splatoon 3 side order dlc
gonna be kinda going through multiple aspects and analyzing them, this is just my opinion don’t punt me into the sun please
starting off, im overall not a fan of rougelike games. so that has definitely biased my opinion. i didn’t like all the repetition and i got frustrated at it a lot, its just not for everyone! i found it became a lot easier once i figured out which colour chips and hacks helped me the most (drone boosts were big).
it took me a bit to actually finish my first run because the palettes i kept getting were weapons i’m awful at (brella, splatting, charger, BRO CMON) but i cleared my first run with the brush surprisingly. i understand how rougelikes work but it still felt kinda short and underwhelming.
the gameplay itself wasn’t terrible, the levels were interesting and i liked how you could choose the difficulty and rewards and such. colour chips and the drone were a really neat addition and i had fun getting used to it.
the lore was meh. kinda disappointed. i’m glad we got to see more of ahato/acht, just wish they got a bit more spotlight and development aside from the diary entries (they got lots, i’m just a diehard fan lmao).
the storyline in general was… a little lame to me? it felt like it didn’t really build off of much and it doesn’t give much room to expand from it (at least personally). felt a little predictable imo.
REWARDS! not bad! inkopolis square was expected, and it’s not my preferred area so it won’t be my default but i think it’s really neat and i’m excited to see it again for splatfests. really liked how we got the exact gear from the dlc as well, and the replica weapons (no tri slosh </3)
the final boss was COOL. very fun to play and much easier than i thought! (why was F28 harder than the final boss lmfao) the cut scenes were awesome, esp before the final phase. music went hard.
also. where is agent 4. cmon. cmon bro.
overall, meh. didn’t hate it, didn’t love it.
the main letdown i had was how the game actually played out vs. the concept art and how it was teased. it seemed like it was going to go in a much different direction, which is fine, just a little bit of a bummer. thought it would be a little darker like OE. side order was really hyped up and for me it just, wasn’t all that!
for me there was a lot of comparison to OE, i kinda expected/hoped for it to have the same hype. with that comparison it felt a little boring and short, ESPECIALLY in terms of rewards. it’s pretty hard to top unlocking PLAYABLE OCTOLINGS. OE had a LOT of brand spankin new stuff, levels characters plots all of it was so fresh and exciting, because before we only had basically 2 copies of the same story mode.
another thing i was talking about with sem was how in OE, since you didn’t need to beat every level right away to beat it, there was lots of new to go back and finish, AND most had multiple weapon options to 100%. SO has something similar, but again, feels repetitive to me. don’t have any motivation to do another run.
my ranking for story campaigns go:
Octo Expansion, Splatoon 3, Splatoon 1, Side Order, Splatoon 2.

i think i remember you mentioning youre a splat 2 promokid enjoyer sometime? something about cuttlefrsh..ive been curious about your thoughts on em
ooggufuhfhhhhgghh this guy asked me about. cuttlefrsh. oh this guy asked me about. cuttlefrsh.
igogofihhh um. ok so this isnt gonna be comprehensive. anyways. hes so special to me. like i think Gloves coroika did really good at making this guy real (AND SURUME ISNT EVEN IN COROIKA. DISAPPOINTED!!!) and like i havent talked about it that much other than transfering it over to Seth (Agent 4) but like listen. Cuttlefrsh and Surume are siblings. they are SO SIBLINGS OK look at this concept art now

SIBLINGS PROOFtheyre cain instinct ok.
i think Frsh is one of those meta-followers but in like a little bit of a loser way. he can be a bit annoying/a bit of an asshole but like hes a super genuine person and wears his heart on his sleeve so to speak. hes a goober and i love him a lot
