Thermite and Caelestis - BLADENLESS

It's over rendered a bit, but I like this comic! Please enjoy! Loving the ichordic hair texturing, though a bit inconsistent with lighting in the scene. I didn't have an idea (yet) on a background, so I just borrowed some inspiration from the Byzantine mosaics of golden backgrounds for this. The border was from this photo of an interior of a basilica in Hagia Sophia by Raimond Klavins.

okay but does it ever kill you how much Wyll loves being the Blade of Frontiers? I think we tend to think of Wyll as this serious, stoic guy, but he's so ridiculously silly about his whole superhero persona. He grew up absolutely in love with storybook heros and tales of bravery and all the bard songs and legends. Look at his reaction to meeting Minsc and Boo!

He must love getting to be a figure like that for a whole new generation of kids. He loves the bard songs (even the bawdy ones!) and the title and the stories, but he just loves being someone brave and worthy and able to help. He loves being a hero!

And to add on to that, its definitely a coping mechanism for him. Perhaps a bit of a messed-up one, but hey, its working.

Which is why the body modification by Mizora seems doubly painful- it doesn't matter that Wyll got them for noble reasons, what the horns do- (and what Wyll knows they do, because he's not an idiot and he understands the common people better than probably anyone else)- is send that whole dream crashing to the ground. He's immediately marked as other. Florrick almost completely passes over him. The tiefling refugees shrink around him. The guards at the doors of his own city don't recognize him. I think Wyll could absolutely win the people's hearts back, he's Wyll Ravengard, of course he could! But in the short term, by gods that's got to hurt.

This is at least the second time in his life he's lost everything in one fell swoop. No wonder he's miserable at the tiefling party- I would be too! It's a testament to his frankly astonishing emotional fortitude that he's barely even moping.

The shade among the trees was a comfortable presence to the venturing Altean man beneath its branches and coverage of leaves. Only reminding him of the time of day between the glances of sunlight peeking through its foliage.

The Altean had his hair tied into a neat-low ponytail and wore traditional Altean clothing. A light turquoise tunic with a contracting dark brown satchel crossing it. Weighed down by its contents inside.

The pathway he had usually taken had been an option, though this time he decided to venture from the usual pathway and head towards one of the less ventured areas. Being wary of his presence and the somewhat intelligible pathway. Overgrown and shadowed by time. One of which he could barely recall from his own history.

While walking, he paused as he swore he had heard something not too far from his current standing point.

the hard part about worldbuilding when you're an artist and not a writer is that there are some lore things you don't want concrete visuals for, sometimes vague nonsensical descriptions are the only thing that keep the right mood

Chung Myung describing his heart as broken and something that aches several times a day is so PAINFUL!!! This is why he is literally my favorite protagonist. He is so much more than anger and beating people up and revenge (like many reincarnation novels). He is sorrow and heartbreak and guilt. He sees his own faults while recognizing others who have wronged Mount Hua.

side rant on the kindred of rot but they're genuinely some of the most annoying enemies in elden ring because you have things like normal knight, sorcerer with weird hat, t-rex dog on steroids, and whatever the fuck an astel (I'm so terrified someone send help they scare me so bad it's not funny) is but then there are these fucking shrimp ass motherfuckers with mommy issues who have homing missile technology in ye olde elden ring days and they do a frankly EMBARRASSING amount of damage.

and that's not even counting the emotional and mental damage caused by accidentally encountering them in the sellia tunnel (I think) after opening that trapped chest at the beginning of the game in nice nice sunny happy limgrave only to be met with a literal nuclear wasteland 5 seconds later.

all im saying is yk i don't blame malenia for abandoning them the second they were created because these abominations regularly made me go through the 5 stages of grief every time I encountered them.

To go along with your aura thoughts, I think it'd be cool if training with aura was ALSO unique to every person. Like maybe there's some blanket advice and ideas, but because aura is unique to everyone, ppl have different techniques and ideas, similar to how you might unlock your semblance :)

Like, for example, maybe someone who's religious would tie their religious beliefs into their aurawork

I have so many aura headcanons, it's very fun to play with

the moment they made aura a manifestation of one's soul is the moment the floodgates were opened for endless possibilities. like, it's your soul, how can it not be unique to everyone in every single aspect?

and yes, training absolutely included! for someone, meditating might be effective, while for someone else it gets them nowhere because that's just not the type of person they are.

it'd also be fun in a sense of like, the academies? with every student requiring personal guidance in terms of finding what works for them (and also what doesn't—maybe there could be some negative effects to trying to be someone you're really not?), rather than everyone following the same steps. sure, the basics would be the same for everyone and those would be taught during the first year of studies, but at some point it would switch up to more personalized study plan, etc.

and same lol, many many possibilities with aura. truly one of my favorite playgrounds :D

There were confused and concerned looking Altean’s passing by the young girl. A few stopping to go up to question her before being occupied with other priorities. And by the time she was in a prime state to be approached the area had grown overwhelming populated. Until it died down to a lulling milling presence of marketplace life. Giving space for her to be seen and eventually approached by an Altean man, who was now holding a box of some goodies.

Hair tied up into a low pony-tail and his contrasting light snowy blue hair bounded with a deep ruby hair-tie. His attire looked of noble background and somewhat contrasted with the peasant attire most held here. A deep navy tunic with a brown satchel hanging lazily to his side. The box he held looked simple but cozy and the scent of sweets came from the fresh baked batch of muffins.

“Are you lost young one?” Alfor looked down at her with a concerned tone. A bit perplexed at the fact no one had aided her but was not surprised.
