Dear Global Activist Team,

Currently we have an emergency situation in South Sudan. The civil war has reached near the camps in Juba. The embassies have evacuated and the UNHCR has also left. The South Sudan Government officials, soildiers and local community leaders have requested the Ugandans/ LGBTQ to leave Juba. They have given them two weeks to relocate or they may be killed. Apparently the Ugandan Museveni government has made some agreement with the south Sudanese to hunt them.

I will be writing the embassies and the UNHCR protection officers requesting an emergency meeting to ask the way forward on their end and how we can support their solution, if they present one.

If they are non responsive I would be surprised.

I believe we may have to assist them to transport back to Kenya. This is a large group with children of over 500. I kindly request we act as a united team with one campaign. We will need to raise funds to move them . Everything at this point is dangerous. If we act quickly we may be able to reduce or eliminate deaths and group sexual assaults.

So I am humbly requesting you join us .

The existing campaign in kakuma is run by Albert. We are working directly with amnesty international and their attorneys who have agreed to take the legal case to push registration and resettlement for lgbtq moving their out of Kenya. My suggestion is we move as one with this campaign and bring in as much support and as many organizations as we can to unite. This may not work. It may completely fail but we must try. I do not know what else we can do with the large group in South Sudan. I am open to all suggestions and ideas.

Der Calliope Mini 3 ist ein tolles Einsteiger-Board, mit dem Kinder und Jugendliche spielerisch das Programmieren lernen können. Ein spannendes Thema dabei ist die sogenannte Nebenläufigkeit – also die Möglichkeit, mehrere Aufgaben scheinbar gleichzeitig ablaufen zu lassen. Doch wie bekommt man es hin, dass zum Beispiel eine LED blinkt, während gleichzeitig ein Ton abgespielt wird? Auf den ersten Blick scheint das gar nicht möglich zu sein, denn der Calliope Mini 3 besitzt nur einen einfachen Prozessor ohne mehrere Rechenkerne (sogenannte „Threads“). Wie funktioniert Nebenläufigkeit mit MakeCode?

Auch wenn der Calliope Mini 3 nur einen einzelnen Prozessorkern besitzt, kannst du trotzdem zwei Aufgaben scheinbar gleichzeitig ausführen – mit einem kleinen Trick und ganz ohne komplizierte Technik. Die Idee ist simpel: Wir nutzen eine Zählervariable, die in einer Endlosschleife (Block dauerhaft) regelmäßig hochgezählt wird. Alle 25 Millisekunden legen wir eine kurze Pause ein. Diese kleinen Pausen zählen wir mit – und nach 10 Pausen (also 250 Millisekunden) führen wir eine Aktion aus, z. B. lassen wir eine LED blinken. Durch diese Technik kannst du mehrere Dinge "parallel" erledigen, indem du verschiedene Aufgaben in kleinen Schritten regelmäßig prüfst und ausführst. So entsteht der Eindruck von Nebenläufigkeit – obwohl der Mikrocontroller in Wirklichkeit nur schnell zwischen den Aufgaben hin- und herspringt.

Praxisbeispiel: Blinkende RGB-LEDs und Zähler gleichzeitig

Um zu zeigen, wie einfach sich scheinbare Nebenläufigkeit auf dem Calliope Mini 3 umsetzen lässt, habe ich ein kleines Beispiel gebaut: - Die drei RGB-LEDs am Calliope Mini 3 wechseln im 250ms-Takt zwischen Rot und Blau. - Gleichzeitig kann mit den Tasten A und B ein Zähler von 0 bis 9 gesteuert werden: - Taste A zählt hoch - Taste B zählt runter - Die aktuelle Zahl wird dabei auf der 5×5 LED-Matrix des Calliope angezeigt. Obwohl der Calliope Mini nur eine Aufgabe zur gleichen Zeit ausführen kann, wirkt es so, als würde er mehrere Dinge gleichzeitig tun. Und genau das ist der Trick hinter der Nebenläufigkeit: Wir arbeiten mit kleinen Pausen, Zählschleifen und mehreren getrennten Ereignisblöcken.

Calliope Mini 3 - NebenläufigkeitHerunterladen Schritt-für-Schritt-Anleitung für das erstellen einer Nebenläufigkeit in MakeCode Schritt 1 – Anlegen einer Zählervariable Im ersten Schritt legst du eine Variable an, mit der du die Zeitabschnitte zählst. Ein passender Name für diese Variable könnte zum Beispiel zähler oder index sein. Diese Variable hilft uns später dabei, den Ablauf in kleine Zeitschritte zu unterteilen. Schritt 2 – Eigene Funktion für die „nebenläufige“ Aufgabe erstellen In MakeCode kannst du eigene Funktionen anlegen, um bestimmte Aufgaben sauber vom restlichen Code zu trennen. Genau das nutzen wir hier: - Erstelle eine Funktion (zum Beispiel mit dem Namen RGB_Blink). - Diese Funktion wird aus dem dauerhaft-Block (Forever-Loop) heraus regelmäßig aufgerufen. - Innerhalb der Funktion: - Erhöhe die Zählervariable um eins. - Lege eine kleine Pause von 25 Millisekunden ein. - Prüfe, ob der Zähler den Wert 10 erreicht hat (10 × 25 ms = 250 ms). - Wenn ja, dann: - Setze den Zähler wieder auf 0. - Wechsle die Farbe der RGB-LEDs zwischen Blau und Rot. Damit läuft die Blink-Logik der LEDs unabhängig von anderen Teilen deines Programms weiter – immer in kleinen, regelmäßigen Schritten. Schritt 3 – Zähler mit den Tasten A & B steuern Während die RGB-LEDs jetzt zuverlässig blinken, definieren wir zusätzlich eine zweite Aufgabe: Einen Zähler, der von 0 bis 9 hoch- und runtergezählt werden kann: - Taste A gedrückt: Zähler wird hochgezählt. - Taste B gedrückt: Zähler wird runtergezählt. - Die aktuelle Zahl wird dabei auf der 5×5 LED-Matrix des Calliope Mini 3 angezeigt. Wichtig: Diese Tastenabfragen und das Hoch- oder Runterzählen laufen ganz normal im Haupt-Task – parallel zu unserer Blink-Funktion. Ergebnis Zwei Aufgaben laufen „gleichzeitig“: - Die RGB-LEDs blinken regelmäßig im 250 ms-Takt. - Der Zähler reagiert sofort auf die Tasteneingaben und zeigt die Zahl an. Mit der hier gezeigten Lösung zur Umsetzung von nebenläufigen Aufgaben am Calliope Mini können wir nun auch ein kleines Spiel auf diesem Mikrocontroller mit MakeCode programmieren. Ein passendes Beispiel ist das Spiel „Fang den Regentropfen“, das ich dir bereits für den Arduino UNO R4 WiFi unter dem Titel „Regentropfen-Jagd: Ein einfaches Arduino-Spiel“ vorgestellt habe. Auch der Calliope Mini verfügt über eine rote LED-Matrix, auf der sich dieses Spiel wunderbar umsetzen lässt. Spielidee: Fang den Regentropfen Die Spielidee ist einfach und ideal geeignet, um das Prinzip der Nebenläufigkeit am Calliope Mini praktisch anzuwenden: - Ein Regentropfen (dargestellt durch eine einzelne LED) fällt von oben nach unten über die 5×5 LED-Matrix. - Am unteren Rand befindet sich ein Korb, den du mit den Tasten A und B nach links (A) oder rechts (B) bewegen kannst. - Ziel ist es, den Tropfen mit dem Korb aufzufangen, bevor er den Boden erreicht. - Zu Beginn hast du 3 Leben, dargestellt durch die drei grünen RGB-LEDs. - Verpasst du einen Tropfen, verlierst du ein Leben – eine grüne LED erlischt. - Sind alle Leben aufgebraucht, spielt der Calliope Mini eine Melodie ab und zeigt einen traurigen Smiley auf der LED-Matrix. - Der Tropfen startet immer an einer zufälligen Position in der oberen Zeile und fällt kontinuierlich nach unten. Dank der zuvor gezeigten Technik zur Nebenläufigkeit kann der Tropfen auch dann weiterfallen, wenn du gleichzeitig den Korb bewegst oder die Leben angezeigt werden. Das sorgt für ein flüssiges Spielerlebnis – ganz ohne echte Threads oder komplexe Programmierung.

Mit diesem einfachen Beispiel hast du gelernt, wie sich auf dem Calliope Mini Nebenläufigkeit umsetzen lässt – auch ohne echte Threads oder mehrere Prozessorkerne.
