Union pensions are funding private equity attacks on workers

Giant public union funds like CalPERS are planning massive increases in their contributions to PE:

This results in some ghastly and ironic situations. Aramark used funds from a custodian's union to bid against that union's members for contracts, in an attempt to break the union and force the workers to take a paycut to $11/hour:

Blackstone's investors include the California State Teachers Retirement System (CalSTRS). The PE ghouls who sucked Toys R Us dry were funded by Texas teachers.

Then there's KKR, one of the most rapacious predators of the PE world. Half of the investors in KKR's Global Infrastructure Investors IV fund are public sector pension funds. Those workers' money were spent to buy up Refresco (Arizona Iced Tea, Tropicana juices, etc), a transaction that immediately precipitated a huge spike in on-the-job accidents as KKR cut safety and increased tempo:

Petsmart is the poster-child for PE predation. The company uses TRAPs ("TrainingRepaymentAgreementProvision") clauses to recreate indentured servitude, forcing workers to pay thousands of dollars to quit their jobs:

Why would a Petsmart employee want to quit? Petsmart's PE owner is BC Partners, and under BC's management, workers have been forced to work impossible hours while overseeing cruel animal abuse, including starving sick animals to death rather than euthanizing them, and then being made to sneak them into dumpsters on the way home from work so Petsmart doesn't have to pay for cremation. 24 of BC Partners' backers are public pension funds, including CalSTRS and the NYC Employees' Retirement System:

PE buyouts are immediately followed by layoffs. One in five PE acquisitions goes bankrupt. Unions should not be investing in PE. But the managers of these funds defend the practice, saying they "facilitate dialog" with the PE bosses on workers' behalf.

This isn't total nonsense. Once upon a time, public pension fund managers put pressure on investees to force them to divest from Apartheid South Africa and tobacco companies. Even today, public pensions have successfully applied leverage to get fund managers to drop Russian investments after the invasion of Ukraine. And public pensions pulled out of the private prison sector, tanking the valuation of some of the largest players.

But there's no evidence that this leverage is being applied to pensions' PE billions. It's not like PE is a great deal for these pensions. PE funds don't reliably outperform the market, especially after PE bosses' sky-high fees are clawed back:

Pension funds could match or beat their PE returns by sticking the money in a low-load Vanguard index tracker. What's more, PE is getting worse, pioneering new scams like inflating the value of companies after they buy and strip-mine them, even though there's no reason to think anyone would buy these hollow companies at the price that the PE companies assign to them for bookkeeping purposes:

On Thursday the full Senate voted to confirm Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). This gave Kennedy full authority over one of America’s largest government bureaucracies, including its 90,000 employees and an annual budget of nearly $2 trillion, twice that of the Department of Defense.

Ironies abounded in that narrow 52-48 vote, which was almost exactly along party lines, with every Democrat in opposition and all but one Republican in support.

Not only had Kennedy spent almost his entire life as a liberal Democrat, but he was the scion of that party’s most famous political dynasty, nephew of the martyred President John F. Kennedy and son of his brother Robert, who would have also probably reached the White House in 1968 if he had not been cut down by an assassin’s bullet.

The younger Kennedy had followed in their illustrious footsteps, spending nearly his entire life as a high-profile environmental activist, so well regarded in Democratic Party circles that President Barack Obama had considered naming him to the Cabinet in 2008. But in recent years, Kennedy’s views on public health issues had caused him to fall from grace in his own ideological camp. His strident skepticism regarding the safety of vaccines in general and the Covid vaccine in particular outraged the mainstream liberal establishment, as did his loud denunciation of the lockdowns and other controversial public health measures undertaken to control the spread of that dangerous disease.

Germanic Paganism Sources

I can’t list these sources without first going through a million different caveats. I’m going to keep this introduction brief due to the length of this post, but be aware that these sources have been subjected to Christianization, speculation, mistranslation, etc. Many of these sources were copied down by Christian authors who may have altered the truth in order to fit their perspective. Some may have vague terms or phrases that we can no longer understand because they existed in an entirely new context. Essentially, approach all of these texts from a speculative and critical lens. This doesn’t mean we can’t decipher the truth. We can decipher the truth by comparing texts from the same time, countries, etc with each other and finding the common threads. Pairing these attestations with archaeological records is also immensely helpful and I hope to compile a list of archaeological records some time in the future. You can find many free records and studies by simply typing, for example, “anglo-saxon burials archaeological excavations.”

This list consists of records of various Germanic peoples, histories, as well as semi-legendary sagas and poetry. By exploring a variety of texts instead of just ethnographic works, we can understand the history, culture, customs, traditions, values, and more. These are all crucial in approaching paganism with the goal of accurate and thorough understanding. I wanted to focus primarily on sources from close to the pagan period, but I have also included current sources in the grimoires and runes section. For the contemporary study of Germanic paganism, I always recommend Stephen Flowers!

CHAPTER ONE: Red, like the walls of your not-so-perfect home.

A cold hand clapped down on Keefe’s shoulder. He shivered slightly. Keefe tilted his head upward, his golden locks following in a delay. Lo and behold, Keefe was met with the most beautiful boy he had ever seen. Swarthy, sonorous skin that seemed to glow, and silver-blue eyes, like a river when Apollo’s rays hit it exactly right. They didn’t know each other, but Keefe’s traitorous heart skipped three beats.

“What are you doing here?” The boy asked. He had a deep, rich voice. It was whole, in a way. Full.

“I thought this house was abandoned, so I came to play.” Keefe saw a flicker of happiness in his eyes.

“Well, it’s going to rain, and I don’t want you completely soaked, so come inside.” Keefe gratefully walked into the boy’s house. The house was beautiful. Cerise walls and tapestries of all colours and shades, and a picture above the grand piano of what seemed to be his family. A man, eyebrows in a permanent arch, who looked much like the boy, and a woman, beautiful, long silky hair and glittering eyes. And a girl, about the age of the boy, same hair as her mother, but a playful gleam in her reflective eyes.

The boy saw Keefe looking at the picture and turned away, pulling him into another room. This one had black walls, and two beds in it. He sat on the bed nearest to the door and gestured Keefe to join him.

“Tam. Tam Song.” He mumbled. Young Keefe didn’t know why, but he knew that he would know and cherish that name forever. Keefe’s lips turned up in a smile.

“My name is Keefe Sencen.” He spoke. Tam nodded and pulled a colourful box from a cabinet. Words and images cluttered it.

“Wanna play snakes and ladders?” He spoke. Keefe nodded eagerly.

Keefe and Tam played together, as you would expect five-years olds to. Tam didn’t laugh a lot, Keefe learnt and spent the time smiling or in solitude.

“Tam Song? Who are you with?” A deep voice asked from the corridor. Keefe was a little scared himself and turned over to Tam, who was as pale as a ghost. The figure walked into Tam’s room and let his eyes sweep across it. “And who are you?”

Keefe was getting a little tired of introductions. “I’m Keefe Sencen, from next door,” Keefe said innocently, pointing to a house out the window. The man did his signature eyebrow arch and spoke.

“I am Quan Song, and this is my son. Carry on, and I will talk to your parents. What was the address again?”

Keefe babbled the address his parents made him memorise, and as soon as Quan left, let out a sigh of relief.

“Is that your dad?” Keefe asked, pointing at the door.

“Yes, and he’s really strict but don’t tell him I said that.” ***

“Keefe, darling, you seem to be getting quite a bit, eh, cuddly with this Tam.” Keefe’s mother questioned, looking at him for an explanation.

“He’s my friend, and I love him. Why can’t I hug him?” Keefe asked innocence in his eyes. Gisella opened her mouth but closed it.

“Nothing, but don’t let it go too far, Keefe.”

Keefe was well aware of how strict Tam’s parents were. Too strict. He watched Tam cower whenever Quan said something, and Mai nod her head along. And it wasn’t just the lectures for things that were stupid.

It was the callous remarks, and the disapproving stares to shut Tam up.

Too bad Keefe was too young and clueless to do anything about it.

These half-witted femcel’s represent why i’m no longer active on wattpad. It’s not all wattpad users, but it’s always wattpad users. Getting triggered by me not being in love with a woman i don’t know and that my ult bias has always been Chuu goes to the hall of fame wall for the dimwits that have stumbled upon my blog and gotten triggered by me. 

First of all these “people” have to be one person because there’s no way strangers speak this generically with each other ONLINE on WATTPAD. If it is three different people, congratulations, it’s giving obsessed (it’s giving even more obsessed if it is one person or friends), especially since none of you follow me. so you’re telling me you’ve been lurking on an inactive profile waiting for something to happen??? AND YOU KNOW WHAT, I don’t blame you, my work slaps and I WILL GIVE YOU THE ATTENTION YOU WANTED. 

Second of all, no i do not love any of these idols so let that marinate in your head and everyone else's. i admire them for the things they have accomplished, their talents and their beauty. I do not engage in parasocial activities considering i get love from the people around me which im assuming you don't :/ poor you.

I cannot feel love for someone i don’t know, especially since i know their idol image and don’t know what type of person they are in real life. That being something that triggers you means you’re too weak for the internet buddy so wrap it up and touch some grass, sign up for some yoga classes and start doing breathing exercises. There’s still time to save yourself from a miserable life. 

The question i was asked came with no good context and i answered it the best i could <3

Third, jennie is not all im about or all i write about if you were to check my masterlist. She’s only all i write about on wp because that was how i grew my following to begin with and decided to stick to it on there and create a tumblr so i could try something new. SO there's one thing you weren't wrong about and that's my WATTPAD account being all for jennie, never said my tumblr would be it.

SO womp womp, cry about it while still eating up every Jennie fic i have posted/updated since 2020. YES, they manage to complain despite being fed since 2020.

You unfollowing me does not bother me, it rather feels like an accomplishment seeing that i managed to trigger someone so much with so few words that it made them unfollow me AND announce it to everyone.

I will also hand out the block for you three so you can feel like you accomplished something fr to considering it will never happen outside of this. rather than chasing something that would make you dimwits useful and appreciated and not like a waste of good chromosomes, you’re on my feed trying to prove a point that never existed, making you look like bigger fools than you already are.
