Update*

Starting with Cinnamon - baby had her belly shaved and examined - and I'm happy to announce none of her organs have issues! But she still refuses to drink water in the middle of summer like a little shit (affectionate). Her belly feels like a shaved alpaca

These holidays will be pretty chaotic all things considered - I'll be graduating in a few days, then I'll be traveling and helping family move (joined by my cat)

My plans regarding the holidays include:

-completing commissions (and perhaps adding a few options including bot handholding - maybe refurbish the valveplug stuff into something more interesting)

-adding a few more corrections to Bleed me dry and write that damn character analysis that's been haunting me in my dreams

-FINISH COLD SHOWER CHAPTER 2

-write more for Tell me it's alright to cry

-maybe start writing the Bleed me dry sequel (Starscream has been haunting my mind)

Although, I have been dealing with a few issues that I'll be leaving under a read more lest it turn into a vent

-I'm trying to get off one of my meds with my psychiatrist's help, and even if the process is slow, it still makes me feel like absolute shit. This coupled with the heat (and lack of AC) have made me sluggish and weak

-Writing has been causing me a ridiculous amount of anxiety for whatever reason. Even reading books I typically enjoy has just made me miserable - I used to think I needed a break from English and went back to reading in French, but it didn't change anything.

For this reason I've been collecting everyone's kind messages and storing them in a folder to look at when I'm sad. And while it does help, I think the shitty feelings will last until I find myself in a more stable mindset (hopefully until next week)

WRITING UPDATE-

Chapter 18 is done just going through beta but my beloved beta has several huge milestones (so so very proud <33) so they're busy with boss shit as of rn- which means official upload date is still in the air

BUT in the meantime I will start to be sharing more of the chapter updated versions!!, responding to comments/asks, AND sharing some sneak peaks of renders, extras, and especially as ive already begun working on 19 and am very very excited for this next "chapter" of the story (also perhaps finally an update to mama bird and the sweet 16 stories-)

Current mood: the slowly mounting dread a writer experiences when they realize the story is, in fact, most likely going to be longer than originally planned, and the story is gleefully dragging the writer along for the ride, kicking and screaming.

Or: this happens to me pretty much every time I write a longfic. Without fail. I really ought to know better by now.

Current wordcount: over 16,000. Just finished the first draft of Chapter 8, but I have the sneaking suspicion the current Chapter 8 might become a later chapter if I flesh out some other things more…unless I add another scene to a previous chapter?

We shall see.

The SoKai Master of Masters!Sora AU is coming along nicely, as I passed the 10,000 word mark a few days ago 🥳

It’s a continuation of this oneshot (AO3 version) if you're wanting to get a sneak peek or a quick refresher on what it's about, and I’m planning on 10-12 chapters total (I’m currently working on Chapter 6). Here's hoping it does not exceed 20,000 words lol, but we’ll see.

Writing Update (June 7th, 2025)

Hello friends! Gonna keep things brief and simple--

1.) Chapter 2 is w/ Alpha Readers rn! Yay! Next Update will be tail end of June, along with the Chapter 1 Patch (unfinished scenes will be done, and the subspecies selection will be added). Chapter 2 is now 134k words, vs. the original version which was 83k words! Lots of fun variation... or not so fun variation🧍🏻

2.) Chapter 3 has also been in the works. It's going to be a lot bigger now since there's more variation in how Amilia + Vethna get along. Now that I'm able to focus on writing again, bi-weekly updates will return following the release of Chapter 2 :)

2.) Re. The COG Demo--There have been a lot of issues w/ infinite loading scenes. I really do not know how to fix this but I'll keep fiddling with it. Some people are getting stuck between Chapter 1 + Chapter 2, others between 2 +3, and then I surprisingly got a report that got stuck between Chapter 3 + 4. So some people are able to play the first few chapters fine, and others can't get past Chapter 1. I, myself, was able to get to Chapter 2 on my own computer, until last week where it randomly decided to get stuck on Chapter 1. Because where people get stuck is so different across the board, I'm not sure if it's something I can fix, but I'll keep trying 😭 (all the scene files are correct, so idk if it's just a problem with using *finish as opposed to *goto_scene)

3.) That is all! :) Thank you for sticking around despite... very long... hiatuses 🧎🏻Chapter 3 will be the last Chapter to be rewritten heavily. Chapter 4 + 5 are just being ported with minor tweaks where necessary!

Happy May, all! Thought I’d give a progress update on Chapter 3. 😁

I am back from the dead, lol. Down for a week with the flu but finally feeling like myself again and ready to get back in it. 💪🏻 I’m about 15k words into Cantata Chapter 3 and if I had to estimate, that’s about halfway, maybe a little less. A lot of stuff happening in this episode: humor, fight scenes (hate writing those 😣) romance (love writing those ❤️). I’m excited with how it’s shaping up!

There do seem to be less choice options in this chapter so far. Part of that is due to the action, but mostly it’s because I’m incorporating choices you’ve already made (personality, attunement, etc). I’ve got variables firing off left and right here. While it may not seem like a lot of choices, it’s definitely a customized chapter.

Thank you all for following my work! As always, feel free to ask me anything. If I don’t answer please don’t take it to heart; there could be any number of reasons: too spoilery, not enough time/brain power, etc. But I do enjoy receiving the asks!

He’s painfully handsome. There’s a slight hesitation in your touch, but you softly trace the cut of his jaw and the stubble spread across it. That roughness feels familiar, and not just under the pads of your fingers, though the thought makes you blush. You begin to remember the night before, almost like a movie reel through your mind…

Chapter Three- The Great Capital

Minutes dragged by as you waited for any kind of movement. The cold metal of the cheekpiece stung your face, distracting you from surveying the clearing. You would see a flicker of movement in the nearby bushes now and again but nothing to suggest anything larger than a fox.  You were starting to wish you had never given away your cloak to that witch when you eventually spotted a grey blur emerge from the thick treeline that surrounded the clearing.  Kane noticed it too as she moved behind your shoulder with a muttered,” Finally.” Flicking off the safety, you closed one eye, trying to gather an image through the rear sight. As it prowled over, you could at least identify it was definitely a wolf. Its coat was a light grey, flecked with white. Thankfully Kane’s runes worked, the great beast paid no attention to either of you. “Aim for its eye. Hopefully, the skull can stop the bolt from penetrating all the way through and puncturing the pelt,” Kane murmured, her voice low. Probably the most advice she had given you in a year. The wolf stopped just before the venison, bending its head to sniff at it, its snout twitching slightly. Adjusting your position, you angled the crossbow so the rear sight gave you a perfect view of the wolf’s head. As if sensing your presence, the animal's head snapped up. Its green eyes bored into yours. “Now."

05/09/2024: everyone wake up it's take walks in the rain and hole up in the library season

academia: slowly working through preliminary research for a potential dissertation topic (women in medieval/early modern warfare), battling the university website for it to acknowledge me as an incoming student.

writing: ... so i accidentally started a new project again. that makes 13, not including the fanfic i write, but whelp. i'm hoping i can mesh it into a pre-existing project, since they're on a similar theme, and that'll feed two birds with one scone.

Writing Update June 2025

Hello everyone!

I'm sorry for the long silence on here apart from some recently posted messages. April and May have both been busy months for me, May especially so.

For a little while I had pretty much no time to write, but things have settled down and I'm back on track. Chapter 2 is currently around 23k words on its own (with both new writing and old, reworked writing from the original TSS included), and around 58k with chapter 1. Something that might be good to know (I can't remember if I've mentioned it already) is that when I give wordcounts, I always exclude code.

The plan is to edit and polish what's currently written of chapter 2 + add the changes I wanted to chapter 1, and then release all of that in 1 - 2 weeks time for my rebel-tier Patreon members. I hope to have chapter 2 completely done by the end of June, but we'll see if that's realistic or whether I'll need to dedicate some or most of July to it as well.

Chapter 1 will be set to public again once I've reworked some stuff.

ADORIEL'S TEARS PROGRESS UPDATE

Hi everyone,

It's an even day, so I thought it would be a good time to give a quick summary of where I'm at with Adoriel's Tears.

As I hope you've noticed with the sneek peaks, I'm continuing to write in my corner and interacting a lot less here.

The last Q&A and some asks I received after it have a lot to do with it.

The end of 2024 and the beginning of this year has been and is hard for me in the real life I'm prioritizing, so I'm writing less regularly than before, but the days dedicated to this activity are generally enough to make up for the days off.

I lost a good part of my progress in mid-December due to an oversight on my part, but I eventually caught up.

So far, I've written the entire path of the Familiars and its various branches, added a little to the Plushie one and started the first scene of the one about Sirius.

This one is rich in branches and choices, but after having a fellow author read it, I know it's worth it.

I'm also continuing to polish up the old chapters and writing the Christmas special side story, which I'm thinking of charging for to be honest.

I've also decided that I won't be answering any more questions where Elianna and Ashlyen's names appear together and about how they're handling things with Mc. These questions have already been widely addressed and only serve to make me sullen and just want to either stop the whole thing or do a complete rewrite of the story, bypassing Mc's childhood.

I've also blocked Tumblr notifications as I found they were taking up too much space in my mind and I encourage anyone who might feel overwhelmed to do so if they wish.

Your anxiety was a ravenous beast with an endless appetite for your peace. It ate away at everything that once felt so secure and solid within you until you were hollow and on the verge of collapsing in on yourself. You did your best to stay busy the next day, consumed with the need to keep moving or doing something to sate it.

König took you up on your offer to fold laundry, so you sat cross-legged on the floor in the middle of the bedroom beside a pile of clean clothes, smoothing and folding until you had a crisp stack beside you.

You tucked a pair of his socks together, cuffing the ends and placing them beside the other pairs. If you focused on one thing at a time, one fold at a time, you could occupy the part of you that would be sprinting down a rabbit hole of self-destructive thoughts. It worked for a while,

until the floor creaked as König entered the room.

You kept your eyes on the T-shirt you were folding, but turned your head just enough to peek at him over your shoulder. He sat on the edge of the bed, elbows resting on his thighs, face in his hands.

Fuck, this couldn’t be good.

Regret surged inside you, thick and dark as tar behind your sternum. It filled the space around your lungs and made it hard to breathe, but you continued with your chore, smoothing the folded shirt down as you set it atop the stack and picked up another.

Writing Update 2/3/25 - Alpha Readers + Chapter 2

Hello everyone!

Long time no see. I have some announcements to make. First is that Chapter 2 has been wrapped up at ~ 90k, making the Twine Demo ~190k. This is very exciting! Lots of new variation has been added re. Amilia + Vethna's relationship (it depends on the Commander now), and Amilia's character has been a bit more refined.

My goal is to fix some typos + finish the "WIP" parts of Chapter 1 in the next week, and after being proofread, Chapter 2 + patches for Chapter 1 should be good to go.

Because of that, I'm finally doing what should be my last (hopefully) call for Alpha Testers! The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, February 12th. All the relevant info is on the google form. The hope is that we can push to do a Chapter 2 release by the end of this month, though it might be pushed to early March. You can apply to be an alpha reader here!

Otherwise, life's been interesting. I'm wrapping up college this semester, so I've been dealing with my Senior thesis (whoop) and I had a surgery that I am just now mostly recovered from (whoop whoop). Very strange to think I went into college working on the exile, and now I graduate still working on it. That's a long time!
