The Paradox of Entitlement: Luxurious Consumption and the False Merit of Hard Work
Introduction The modern world is characterized by a growing disparity between those with immense wealth and those struggling to survive. In many societies, the notion of “deserving luxury and affluence has become an implicit cultural narrative. This essay critically examines the psychological and social implications of claiming entitlement to extravagant lifestyles based on the idea of “working…

THE RICH MAN’S GUIDE TO CORRUPTION

GIVE IT UP FOR LOVE

warnings… i mean some absolute swine talk, gojo and geto are evil men, you’re a sweet and pure virgin. swearing, mentions of fucking, really just vile pig shit.
synopsis… suguru and satoru have a lovely chat over a warm summers breeze. oh! and sweet, un-expecting, vulnerable you is the topic of discussion.
a word from the creator… idk if i mentioned this but this fic is based loosely off the movie cruel intentions! banger film, check it out. i wrote a lot of this chapter awhile ago so if the writing style switches up next chapter don’t sue me. i’m excited!!!! here’s to the next eleven chapters of hell
series masterlist

Gojo hates the heat. He thinks he's tolerated it before on his father’s yacht or when he did an unnecessary shirtless carwash for extra money he didn't need; but right now with the breeze through the window— that Suguru demanded be open— overbearing the air conditioner, he's absolutely positive that summer is the worst.
“Start of the year’s comin’, yknow.” He typically broke the silence— as if he could ever shut up to begin with— and he was almost always met with a:
“No shit.” strident response. Those seemed to be Suguru’s speciality, and provoking them seemed to be Satoru’s.
It’s too hot. His white hair presses into the drywall, feeling much cooler than the air outside. “I’m not stupid, Suguru. Neither are you, you know what I mean.” It’s an overdramatic sigh— a call for attention— as he turns his head over to look at him.
“They’re gonna ask us about it soon.” And, in some way Suguru can’t really comprehend, Gojo sounds excited.
His manner isn’t necessarily wrong, not so much as it is unexpected. The ‘new year, new fuck’ competition of Azabu was practically famous among the young men certain to attend— the sons of the sons who started it, and all their nephews or cousins or any synonym for a pig of a relative that they could come up with. And, luckily enough, they had the privilege to be top candidates.
The competition was started by the current dean’s uncle, a horny fuck-all type who would take any and all excuse to boost his ego while tearing down a girls— or maybe he really did just want a good lay. But, it grew and grew and grew, and now it was almost ritualistic, a second identity of worthiness in the form of fucking a virgin before anyone else did.
Sure, they were nothing but thrilled for it as high school reached an end, or even the first or second year of university. But now it just seemed dull.
But, traditions are custom, and customs are a necessity. It’s almost become lore throughout their little clique of affluence; whispered stories from childhood turned into real competition after a long wait, especially from a group of people who so rarely have to wait for anything. It’s inspiring, they think, means to associate themselves with a lower class; normalize themselves just a little more.
Alumni share stories at functions, putting the frat in fraternizing, nonchalance on the tips of their tongues. Sometimes the tone almost feels dark, and Suguru thinks if he were a better person he’d feel some type of sympathy for the girls. Any fragment of empathy he had wiped away when he won for the first time, though, wide smirk as his year mates glared at him; memories of the tight, albeit idiotic, girl engrained behind the lids of his eyes.
Even so, it gets old quick. And it’s not like they don’t fuck dumb, stupid, silly girls with nothing to say for the rest of the year anyway. So, he can’t quite figure out what Gojo is all too excited about.
“Well try to make sure your dick doesn’t get hard from the thought, you fucking freak.” There’s a giggle from the other man, a scoff too, and he pushes his hand out at him.
This is crucial. This is who they are together. A pair— whether it’s a pair of awful men or not.
There’s also a sense of trepidation that comes with it, of course. It’s exclusive, more so than they already are, and if you do one thing wrong- speak a little too loud, come off too brash, give a lackluster lie after actually getting caught— you’re out. And whose pride would want that?
“It’s stupid we always gotta wait for them to sit us down, it’s not like we don’t know what’s coming up.” He scoffs, arms crossing over his chest. “Plus, what a fucking weird thing to say to your kid.”
“I mean the whole thing’s odd if you think about it.” Gojo shrugs, hands stuffed in his pockets, forearms bare against the linen of his trousers.
He’s right, of course. Even if neither of them feel guilt for their actions, they can’t ignore the sinking feeling in their stomach when their own fathers sit them down and incite such a twisted view on them.
Be that as it may, it’s not too bad when that’s all they know, and it’s not like either of them are going to complain at a quick orgasm, a nice pair of tits, and that goddamn feeling of triumph.
“Do you think they’ll cry again?” Satoru mocks, brimming with glee as he leans in the direction of his friend. “It’s always funny, dontcha think?”
“As if you’d know,” There’s a smirk despite the aggression in his tone. “Dunno why it matters so much to you, you already got bitches babbling about you all the time.”
Gojo sighs, expression bored and childish and fucking greedy. “Yeah, I know but…” His voice peters out, lost in the room. Elation bubbles back into his features, warming his cheeks and animating his eyes as he looks at Suguru.
“Yknow, I heard the dean has a daughter starting, actually. Real sweet gal, even wrote a whole fucking magazine article about the importance of ‘saving your innocence’” his voice wobbles, eyes rolling as he sneers. “for someone you really love.”
“Sounds like she’s ugly.”
“Thought so, too, but..” He trails off, hand fishing in his back pocket for his phone, pupils dilating at the light on his screen. It doesn’t take him long to find the photo; clearly he’s been sitting on his discovery for awhile, anticipating when he could tell him. “Look.”
Suguru doesn’t like to be wrong, much less will he ever admit it. “Holy shit.” You aren’t necessarily the prettiest girl he’s ever seen, probably not even the prettiest he’s seen in the last month, but you were definitely something.
Maybe it was the curve of your jaw or the tint in your lips, but the photo set something off in him. On the surface he thinks it’s the just barely explicit face you’re making in your mirror, phone in hand as you look into your lens, but really, honestly, if he’s searching deep down— it’s the fact he knows you’re the one girl who wouldn’t just throw herself on him if he so kindly asked.
“Sugu, are you ever bored of this? It feels too easy, right?” Suddenly Gojo’s previous excitement feels misplaced, voice itching for more. “Hardest part about it is finding out who’s actually a virgin or not, and that’s pretty simple with how awkward they get.”
“What are you saying?” Maybe he already knows, maybe he’s hoping for the obvious, but he asks like he doesn’t care. The former moves fast, hand steady on the desk as he leans far too close for comfort. In any other situation, he’d probably be met with a harsh jab to the face, but this feels different— secret.
“Let’s do something, on our own, just you and me.” He almost seems too impatient, pressure digging into the ground from the toes of his shoes and gaze begging. It was the kind of thing that made you want to agree, if nothing else to just feel a fraction of the way he seemed to be. Before Suguru could even consider the idea, test the waters and make Gojo beg a little bit, said boy opened his mouth again.
“I mean, unless you’re not up for it. You don’t really seem like the type to make a girl give it up for love.” He snickers, raising the back of his hand to his forehead as he feigns swooning.
“Geto, I— I love you.” His voice is high, wheezy in his imitation and a little rude. “I think.. I think I’m ready- I want it to be you.” He cuts himself off with his own laugh, hand circling over his mouth to try to stifle himself. “Could you imagine?”
“The fuck does that mean?!”
“Cmon, Suguru, you’re not really the endearing type.” He’s edging him now, tone manipulative and pressing and snarky and Suguru knows— of course he knows, but it can’t help but irk him.
“What are you thinking?” And now Gojo’s beaming again, feet guiding him back across the room to his bag, books stacked neatly inside, lying even against each other. He pulls out a magazine and tosses it to him haphazardly before he reaches back for a notebook and a pen.
“Page 36, read it.” The article is cheesy. It’s too long and feels like something right off a self care Facebook page. Suguru is sure he physically recoiled a couple times reading it; especially when you wrote ‘Virginity is a miracle— the ability to show someone how much you love them in such an intimate way should be saved for someone special.’.
It’s shocking that you’re the daughter of the man who oversees their little sex game.
Suguru thinks you’re vile— embarrassing and pathetic and a huge fucking waste of what seems like a really good pair of blowjob eyes. It makes his skin crawl and he verbally scoffs when he reads your finishing sentence about cherishing your virtues, so focused on the arrogance in your punctuation that he doesn’t even hear Gojo’s laugh.
“Pretentious as shit, right?” He snorts, eyes flickered as he recites the passage in his head. “It’s gonna feel so good to fuck the words right out of her mouth.” Suguru didn’t know what he expected from his friend, but it wasn’t that. It’s clear through, through and through, that he’s dedicated to the idea.
“I mean sure, I guess you’ll have your turn. Maybe she’ll fuck just about anyone after I win.”
“Wait, so you’re in?”
“Whatever.”
“Fuck yeah!” He’s joyful, fist pumping into his chest in a quick celebration before he’s holding up his notebook, standing directly across the floor from the desk.
The wood is dark, deep and marbled, glazed over the top and lined with little symbols of power in the form of trophies. It’s clearly something too nice to serve as a welcome mat, but nonetheless Suguru rests his heels on the surface, ankles crossed over each other as he leans back in his chair. His eyes point to the ceiling to look at anything other than the annoyance in front of him.
“Well clearly we need to set up some rules.” He sneers in his seat when he remembers not looking at him won’t make him shut up.
“Okay well we have the obvious: whoever fucks first wins. And I mean fucks, none of that sloppy anal shit. Doesn’t count.” It’s almost funny, but neither of them acknowledge it. If they do, that’ll come hand in hand with the fact they’re acting just like their fathers.
“She has to be sober.” He didn’t really expect himself to say that, but he did expect Satoru to whine.
Gojo lets it sit in the air for a second before he nods curtly and jots something done.
“Would it be too cocky to say she has to cum?” The journal’s away from his face now and someone could, and probably would, argue that the walls are lucky to see the boyish grin he’s got. His smirk pulls up at the corners of his lips, but Suguru just finds it vexing. Gojo is far too full of himself, he thinks, and he hates to admit there’s good reason.
Nonetheless, he has to give him a little shit. “Do they normally not with you?”
“Hey! That’s not what I meant, asshole.” There’s something sweet to Satoru, under all the sickening that is his personality. It makes people understand just why girls fall for him, and definitely helps him keep a good image to the public.
And there’s something smart to him that makes you feel like he could really pull whatever he wanted off. It makes the idea of competing with just him much more appealing.
“Are we gonna have like a— fuck I don’t know— like a time limit?”
“Fuck is this? A video game?”
“I mean no, but competition wise if it takes us like half a year isn’t that kind of stupid? Because who’s to say she won’t ‘really love you’ by then, and then you’re not making her go against anything, yknow?” And there's also something meticulous about him that makes him aggravating as all hell.
“Fine. A month.”
“Just a month?”
“Yeah, you’re right. Plus, anything longer than that and we’d just be a couple of fucking losers chasing after a bitch.” Suguru knows Gojo is giving him a look without even seeing it, the slightly judgmental and almost kind one he does. “What? You’re the one who said it to begin with.”
“Yeah, okay, whatever. A month.” It’s silent for a second, comfortable with all their years of each other, before he clears his throat.
“That it then?” Maybe they’re the same kind of evil. Maybe they deserve each other.
“One more, actually.” There’s that feeling from him again, the tone that makes Suguru want to agree aimlessly for no fucking reason other than the possible rush. And before he can fester; before his skin can start to crawl and his hands can get clammy just from that sheer desire in his voice, Gojo grins.
“You need proof. And I don’t mean her saying it, because you can bribe anyone into saying anything. Gotta show it, photo or video or something, balls deep or whatever the fuck.” That almost makes Suguru laugh.
“I don’t think she’s gonna go for that one, no matter how good the dick is.”
“She doesn’t have to know.” Now he’s really thrilled. He doesn’t know what it is, but that lights something in him, stirs in his stomach and causes a little quiver in his brow.
“Fuck yeah, man,” he’s really laughing now, pointing at the journal harshly. “write that shit down.”
There’s something unspoken over them now, a deeper bond than they thought they could have. Neither of them would ever admit it, but it feels like they’re those two high schoolers again, counting down til they can become something fucking great. This is the feeling they’re supposed to get from their fathers’ stupid fucking contest. This is actual competition, a chance to actually win.
A new air falls on them, mixed back in with that warm, rich breeze.
“Okay, that settles that then.” Gojo offers, fingers tapping the binding of his book. “She has to be attending the start of the year banquet so that’ll be an excuse to meet her. Everything from then on is up to us.” Suguru always dreaded that shitty event, but now he finds himself doing mental math to count how far away it is.
Even if the whole thing is trivial, and even if you seem like the most uptight thing ever, Suguru is a man of pride. And prideful he’ll be.
“We still gotta do the ‘new year’ thing, you know. They’ll burst a fucking artery if we say we’re not interested.” His voice is gravelly and calm and so not anything he’s feeling, but he thinks Gojo buys it when he chuckles.
“Can you be excommunicated from being a womanizer? Because I think we would be.” They’re almost joking like everything is normal. It’s different, so much different, but they’re acting the same.
“I’m gonna go grab some water and maybe call one of your maids to make lunch, you want anything?” Suguru shakes his head, shifting in his seat as he tries his hardest not to look at the journal Satoru set on the side table.
“Suit yourself, I’ll be back.”
“Whatever,” He waits after Gojo walks out. Waits a good forty five seconds before he stands up, and he crosses the room in about three.
He glances over at the thrown aside notebook, eyes quick as he scans it. The handwriting is adjacent to messy, scattered and the page is littered with semi vulgar doodles and side bars. It’s coherent, though, and even though they both know Gojo had no intention of giving it to him, it’s got his signature at the bottom.
1. Full fucking!! Penis in vagina
2. No signs of being inebriated. Absolutely stone cold sober
3. If it takes longer than a month after everyone is introduced we’re both “a couple of fucking losers” (< Sugu’s words)
4. Orgasms are important ! Or at least near orgasms (she is a virgin)
5. Photo / video proof. If you can’t get it, you aren’t in it (haha! get it?)
He snickers at four, the uneasy tone in the second sentence almost self deprecating. Despite that, he can’t help but feel a smidge of respect that he ended up adding it to begin with.
He grabs the pen from the table, pressing into the paper too hard as he leaves his chicken scratch of a John Hancock. Okay, maybe this will be fun.

Does anyone else feel like the miraculous characters should be older than they are? Like, maturity wise, time passage wise, etc. I imagine they are 16-18. And I'm from the U.S. so I'm not super well versed in how French school systems work, and maybe it's just bc I'm older that the "immaturity" of the show still feels applicable to someone in their late teens (maybe also someone who was a bit sheltered). All of the mlb kids, to me, fit that description with their affluence and lack of on screen monetary issues while still being involved in politics and they all know what they want to do with their lives, are relatively independent, etc. Theyre doing it, theyre doing the life thing, extremely well for the on-screen age of, what? 13? I more so imagine it as a kids show with almost-adults than a kids show with kids bc otherwise someone needs to get then emotionally regulated before continuing to give them all this responsibility sheeeesh
And I know I know they wanna match who they wrongly thought their target audience is but STILL here me out

Beast Crime Family AU?
Hear me out here. So my mind has been rotating this since I can't post CRA for like another week or so and the drop of The Gaslight District Pilot. The Beasts in a crime family scenario, that works hits, heists, and play to their advantage.
Shadow Milk: The Boss, not expected to fight but has the brains and the presence to command the rest, whether because they respect Shamil's judgement (how I would write them) or because he's the one with the money and affluence.
Burning Spice: Muscle, protects the others and does a lot of heavy lifting and breaking. Finds the job fun, that's why he stays, or so he says.
Eternal Sugar: Intelligence/ Arms Expert, If they have to make a low-key hit, high society or not, she gets information and has the target dead before the sun can rise.
Silent Salt: Right Hand, Shamil's personal guard and right hand. They need to keep someone alive and get info? Salts is not a person for mercy but one of true patience.
Mystic Flour: Underground Doctor, if they need to collect a physical debt, she's the one working away at the victim. Has the most issue with the suffering they cause but doesn't take responsibility because her targets feel no pain during her procedures.
I know mafia/ crime family aus are kind of over done at this point, but just the idea of really makes me want to draw and write more to flush out these concepts. I'm the most shaky on Sugars role, cause I'm hesitant to make her a fem fatale just because she's a pretty pink lady, if anything due to her presumed ability to relax she may work better as a pusher, but also pretty pink with gun.
Also I don't know if it needs to be said but these guys would be in full irredeemable mode in this AU.
What do you all think? Overdone?

The subtext of hunger, agriculture, food crisis vis-a-vis scapegoating and “othering” in Wicked
I just watched the WICKED movie the other day. This is my second night after having watched that movie. I’ve read the book, watched the musical, and now, watched the movie. I am writing this immediately after I woke up after lucid dreaming, some themes and commentary hiding in plain sight having been made clear in my dream.
So.
Oz is a highly agricultural land. From the depiction of a largely agrarian society in Munchkinland to the triggering events that shape its society, this much is clear.
Right off the bat, in the movie, Dr. Dillamond attributes the scapegoating of the Animals to the Great Drought, where the people, hungry and frustrated, wanted someone to blame. (As a side note, I am curious whether Madame Morrible is alive and already competent a sorceress during those times. I am don’t remember the dates, but come Oz suffers from Great Drought when there’s a weather-manipulating sorceress in the picture? This to me is suspicious in the same way Morrible’s hand in Nessa’s demise is, or will be.)
This already sets the precedent of the public consciousness being pliable to “other” sectors of society and deprive them of their rights, if it meant being able to get-over a real but complex societal problem like poverty and hunger. Sounds like Nazi Germany and today’s current climate, right? It does. The propensity for fascism exists within Oz’s culture.
Now this part may sound like a stretch, but I argue that there is subconscious reason why they sprang out of the creators’ imagination.
I’m not gonna talk about witches and their significance as an historically oppressed group and the metaphor of a witch as society’s constant attempts to snuff out women empowerment. Y’all already know that.
Obviously, the solution to a drought is water. And I cant help but remember how water is significant in the story. In the classical tale, Dorothy melts the Wicked Witch of the West into a puddle by throwing a bucket of water at her. In the books, Elphaba is deathly allergic to water. This is not the case in the musical and movie, but she does take advantage of that ridiculous rumor and a bucket of water gets thrown at her. In the movie, and as I’ve seen many point out, during Elphaba’s iconic scene, storm clouds punctuate her rise to power. But Elphaba isn’t known to manipulate the weather. You know who is? Madame Morrible. Storm clouds and thunder are gather to literally make Elphaba appear villainous, fearsome, and menacing. Spoilers, but, Elphaba wasn’t able to see her political aspirations bear fruit. Going back to the drought imagery, Elphaba, a symbol of otherness herself exists as a figure that seeks to correct the undue scapegoating and political disenfranchisement that people chose to wrongfully resort to. They may wreathe her in stormclouds all they want, but as force of nature herself, her moral stance in all these injustice, her advocacy, is correct and righteous. She and everything she stands for water to the Ozian’s moral drought: clear, purifying, quenching. A path to wash away the sins of society and clean its conscience anew.
The resulting “othering”, scapegoating, and disenfranchisement of the Animals, of Elphaba, were not mere reactions to a harrowing social ill. The Great Drought and its direct effects (poverty and hunger) and the trauma it entrenched in collective Ozian consciousness were taken advantage of by political figures. Leaders people looked up to but were unable to solve the problem. So instead of taking accountability, they chose to shift it on others instead, employing propaganda. The “greenness” of Emerald City is an illusion of the Wizard, the phony spectacles masking the glaring inequality in its metropolitan affluence as opposed to the more agricultural provinces and distracting from holding leaders responsible to effect true and direct solutions. After all, if there were no problems, who would the people look up to? It is all a fake. This “greenness” is a fake to Elphaba’s real. It’s a “greenness” that co-opts and imposes conformity, calling one to willful blindness and perpetuating that same culture of division and disenfranchisement. A “greenness” that is not the same as and inevitably clashes with Elphaba’s own: a greenness forged by the same “othering”, stigma, and disenfranchisement but with a sense of self and a sense of justice to effect social change that would end the cycle.

Opposition in the Natal Chart: Part II
~ Outer Planets
Navigation: Masterlist✦Ask Rules✦Images
Part 1✦Sources [10][12]✦Paid Readings
Jupiter ☍ Saturn: The Jupiter-Saturn opposition creates a conflict between expansion and limitation in your life. You often struggle to find a balance between control and trust, discipline and spontaneity. This internal conflict leads you to gravitate towards one extreme or the other, causing rigidity or a lack of responsibility. You may yearn for more joy and freedom but feel trapped in a structured mindset. It's important to overcome this tension by embracing both polarities, finding a harmony between spontaneity and order, effort and grace. Balancing these opposites will lead to a more fulfilling and balanced life.
Jupiter ☍ Uranus: The Jupiter-Uranus opposition represents a conflict between progress and understanding in your life. Jupiter symbolizes conventional growth within societal boundaries, while Uranus represents radical change and a departure from social norms. This opposition creates internal conflict regarding individual freedom and social responsibility. You may lean towards individualism and reject conformity or adopt a defender-of-society stance, suppressing your own eccentric traits. In terms of understanding, Jupiter seeks a grand design that aligns with established paradigms, while Uranus challenges those paradigms with revolutionary insights. This opposition also impacts your concept of well-being and philanthropy, leading to conflicts between merit-based and equitable approaches. Finding balance between these opposing forces is crucial for personal fulfillment and harmony.
Jupiter ☍ Neptune: The opposition of Jupiter and Neptune requires you to find a balance between conflicting forces. Jupiter represents tangible growth and understanding, while Neptune symbolizes expansion into the ethereal and dissolution of formed structures. These opposing forces create a sense of uncertainty and impermanence, leading to increased insecurity and potential neuroticism. You may distrust established systems, craving absolute truth amidst compromises. The key to resolving these conflicts lies in embracing ambiguity, recognizing its positive role in understanding and organizational dynamics. It is important to deflate excess and incorporate boundaries to navigate both the manifested and unmanifested realms. Balancing form and void allows for harmonious functioning in both domains.
Jupiter ☍ Pluto: The opposition of Jupiter and Pluto creates a conflict between the known and the unknown aspects of your psyche. Your stable worldview clashes with your subconscious, destructive, and power-seeking tendencies. This internal tension can manifest as hidden anxiety or be externalized in destructive behavior. Feelings of paranoia, insecurity, and mood swings may arise. Externally, events like death, abuse, financial crises, or powerful opposition can threaten your well-being. The challenge lies in restoring equilibrium and well-being after such crises, aiming for personal growth and a higher level of understanding.
Jupiter ☍ Part of Fortune: The opposition of Jupiter and the Part of Fortune initially suggests a conflict between taking risks and seeking growth versus experiencing good fortune. Choices may seem unfortunate, and desired affluence may be blocked. This aspect also indicates a struggle between pursuing fortune and personal growth. However, by recognizing the commonalities and reconciling opposites, this opposition can be resolved. Understanding that both fortune and growth can complement each other allows for the enjoyment and development of both aspects in life. Ultimately, this opposition presents an opportunity to find fortune and well-being through a balanced approach.
Jupiter ☍ Ascendant: With Jupiter opposed Rising, you exhibit a polished and refined demeanor, but others may question your motives. Navigating this aspect with self-awareness and integrity allows for personal growth and a lasting impact on the professional path and public image.
Pluto ☍ Chiron: Individuals with Pluto opposed Chiron possess a strong and introverted nature, often plagued by self-doubt and subconscious insecurity. Childhood experiences and conflicts with parents intensify these inner uncertainties. They exhibit a fierce competitive spirit and an unwavering desire for success, driven by a need to prove their intrinsic worth. Intense emotions such as envy, greed, lust, and jealousy overwhelm them, and attempts to suppress these feelings only amplify them. To embark on a journey of personal growth and healing, they must confront their past, acknowledge past rejections, and transform their understanding into positive attributes. By embracing their emotions and engaging in self-reflection and healing, they can emerge as resilient forces for themselves and others.
Pluto ☍ Vesta: Individuals with Pluto opposed Vesta navigate between rugged individualism and fear of decision-making, often developing an aversion to authority. Harmonizing these energies and applying self-discipline unlocks their immense abilities for the greater good. They intuitively recognize transformative power within destructive forces, transforming inner demons into allies. This process clears unconscious patterns and beliefs that separate them from the divine. They are then prepared to embrace their true calling, providing solace to others in personal crises, illness, or loss. Triumphing over inner demons grants them balance and influence, enabling them to impact many lives through business, politics, or art. Their journey of self-discovery empowers them to inspire and uplift others with strength and empathy.
Pluto ☍ Pallas: Individuals with Pluto opposed Pallas may face challenges in expressing their creative side due to a lack of discipline or confidence. They yearn for transformative experiences and may explore taboo and psychological realms, which can clash with societal norms. This may create adversarial dynamics unless they integrate their yearning with cultural context. Embracing their creative nature, valuing their unique perspective, and finding a balance between personal exploration and societal expectations allows them to navigate this dichotomy authentically. Trusting their creative instincts, exploring passions, and expressing their artistic self aligns them with their true essence and brings harmony and fulfillment.
Pluto ☍ Juno: Individuals with Pluto opposed Juno possess great personal power potential, yet a lack of emotional security influences their behavior. They may exhibit dictatorial tendencies due to a conflict between their desire for security and the power they can wield. In committed relationships, power dynamics become a significant issue, leading to destructive patterns, sexual obsessions, possessiveness, and abuses of power. Addressing these dynamics openly and honestly is crucial for fostering a healthy relationship. Cultivating emotional security, open communication, trust, and mutual respect allows for a balanced expression of power, transforming conflicts into opportunities for growth, empowerment, and deeper connection.
Pluto ☍ Ceres: Individuals with Pluto opposed Ceres face a significant polarity in their lives, balancing their creative and emotional bonds with their transformative journey of self-empowerment. Loyalties may feel divided between their mother and spouse, as care and closeness can require compromising power. Inner negativity and a lack of confidence in love hinder their expression of emotional care, leading others to control and withhold support. Striking a balance is crucial to avoid constant power struggles that hinder personal growth. They have a need for sexual nourishment but must maintain a healthy balance of power and avoid seeking it solely for personal gratification. Asserting personal power, setting boundaries, and open communication can navigate these complexities and foster fulfilling relationships.
Pluto ☍ Vertex: Individuals experiencing Pluto opposed Vertex are undergoing a purging process, releasing what is no longer necessary for personal growth. Power struggles and opposition arise, leading to regeneration and transformation. Challenges in sexuality, taxes, and insurance may emerge, but integrity and moral values help overcome them. There is a tendency to stay in the comfort zone for personal safety, yet supporting fragile individuals and advocating for spiritual practices becomes important. Emotional fluctuations between love and hatred require understanding and resolution in relationships. Embracing these challenges fosters personal transformation and creates a moderately happy life that integrates material and spiritual aspects. Prioritizing integrity and well-being is key.
Pluto ☍ Lilith: Individuals with Pluto opposed Lilith have a deep fear of control and react strongly to perceived threats to their freedom. This fear can lead to secrecy, manipulation, and hostility as defensive measures. They also experience shame, guilt, and fear, and may take pleasure in others' suffering. Their taboo desires, particularly in sexuality, feel uncontrollable. While driven by individuality and liberation, this obsession ironically impairs personal freedom. To find a healthier path, addressing these fears is crucial. Self-acceptance, self-compassion, open communication, and therapy can help develop healthier coping mechanisms. Releasing the need for constant defense allows for greater inner peace and authentic individuality.

a/n: something new i came up with 🤷 LONGGGG!!!
Lake Breeding
TW: smut, 18+, NO MINORS, breeding, fucking, oral sex, "normal" sex
I'm slouched in the backseat of my parents' car, staring out the window with a scowl etched on my face. We're on our way to Timothée Chalamet's house, of all places. My parents are apparently friends with his family, and they think it's just delightful to spend time together. But me? I can't stand Timothée. He's pretentious, and his constant fawning fans make me want to scream. I'd much rather be at home, curled up with a good book or binge-watching something on Netflix. Instead, here I am, trapped in this car, counting down the minutes until I can escape this forced social gathering. I bury myself in my phone, trying to drown out the annoyance brewing inside me.
"Y/n, did you bring your Louis Vuitton bag?" my mom chirps from the front seat, her voice dripping with a mix of excitement and pride. I roll my eyes in response, a surge of frustration coursing through me. Of course, I brought the darn bag. It's practically a requirement for these gatherings, a symbol of our family's wealth that they love to flaunt. But honestly, I can't stand it. I hate how my family always seems to compete with Timothée's family, trying to outdo each other in displays of affluence. It's like a never-ending game of one-upmanship, and I'm so over it. With a reluctant nod, I confirm that yes, I brought the stupid bag, silently wishing we could just be normal for once.
As we turn onto Cherry Road, the infamous street of the rich and elite, I feel a sense of unease wash over me. It's like entering a different world, one where opulence and extravagance reign supreme. The chauffeur opens my door, and I step out, the sound of my heels clicking against the pavement echoing in the air.
And then I see him – Timothée, standing there in all his arrogant glory. It's been a while since I last laid eyes on him, and I can't help but notice how the hot summer sun seems to make everything even more intense, including the way my heart races at the sight of him.
I take a moment to size him up, my eyes running up and down his figure before I realize he's been staring back at me with a flirtatious twinkle in his eye. Heat rushes to my cheeks as I quickly avert my gaze, suddenly feeling self-conscious under his scrutiny.
As our hands meet in a polite shake, I feel a jolt of electricity shoot through my body. His touch is warm and gentle, and as he clasps my hand, his thumb subtly brushes against mine. It's a simple gesture, yet it sends a rush of sensation coursing through me.
I've always had a strange fascination with his thumb – the way it moves, the way it feels against my skin. Call it odd, but I've always found it strangely attractive. And in this moment, as his thumb grazes mine, I can't help but feel a flutter of excitement deep within me. It's as if a dormant spark has been ignited, awakening something inside me that I never knew existed.
As we walk inside, I lag behind a bit, and I notice Timothée waiting for me with a playful grin. "Still hate me?" he quips, his eyes sparkling with mischief. I shoot him a smirk in response, unable to resist the banter.
He chuckles and takes a step closer, his hand lightly brushing against my thigh. It's a subtle touch, but it sends a shockwave of sensation through me, causing a sudden ache to flare between my thighs. My breath catches in my throat as I try to compose myself, the unexpected intensity of the moment leaving me
As we sit down for food, I find myself seated across from Timothée. Despite my best efforts to maintain a sense of distance, our feet seem to have a mind of their own, constantly finding ways to brush against each other under the table. It's a subtle, almost unconscious movement, but each touch sends a surge of heat through me.
As we eat, the ache between my thighs becomes increasingly difficult to ignore. I shift uncomfortably in my seat, trying to discreetly squeeze my sticky thighs together in the hopes of alleviating the sensation. There’s no way I could be getting aroused because of Timothée, I tell myself firmly, but the persistent ache refuses to subside, leaving me feeling flustered and frustrated.
As Timothée's mother suggests heading out to their backyard lake for a swim, I exchange a hesitant glance with Timothée. Despite my reservations, I carefully stand up, trying to ignore the flutter of nerves in my stomach.
Once outside, I find myself scanning the area, wondering where Timothée has disappeared to. When he finally joins us, I can't help but ask where he's been. As he nonchalantly removes his t-shirt, revealing his sculpted physique, and unzips his pants, my jaw practically hits the floor.
Before I can even process what's happening, he drops a bombshell. He claims to have seen my fluid on the chair and boldly declares that he licked it all off. Shock courses through me, my cheeks flushing crimson as I stare at him in disbelief.
But instead of apologizing or showing any sign of remorse, he smirks and confidently asserts, "I know how horny you are for me, Y/n." His words hang in the air, leaving me speechless and utterly mortified.
As Timothée pulls me behind a towering tree, I can't help but feel a rush of adrenaline coursing through me. It's exhilarating, knowing that our parents are oblivious to our whereabouts, giving us the perfect opportunity for privacy.
But before I can even process what's happening, he pushes me down to my knees, the rough ground scraping against my skin. My eyes widen in surprise as I gaze up at him, only to be met with the sight of his massive hardness standing proudly before me.
I swallow hard, feeling a mixture of anticipation and nervousness wash over me. The air crackles with tension as I realize what he's about to do, and a flurry of conflicting emotions swirl within me. But despite my uncertainty, there's a part of me that can't deny the undeniable attraction I feel towards him, a primal desire that threatens to consume me.
"What are you doing?!" I gasp, my voice trembling with a mix of confusion and disbelief as Timothée begins to remove his underwear. But before I can protest any further, he cuts me off with a command that sends shivers down my spine.
"Suck that cock like a slut," he says, his voice dripping with authority and desire. I gulp audibly, still frozen in shock as his cock springs free from his underwear, a glistening pearl of pre-cum dangling from the tip, teasingly dropping onto the grass below.
My mind races as I struggle to comprehend the situation unfolding before me, but despite my reservations, there's a part of me that can't deny the overwhelming urge to comply with his demand.
With a mixture of trepidation and curiosity, I slowly part my lips, allowing Timothée to guide his throbbing cock into my mouth. The sensation is overwhelming as he begins to mouthfuck me, each movement deliberate and calculated, sending waves of pleasure coursing through my body.
At first, his pace is slow and steady, allowing me to adjust to the sensation of having him filling my mouth. But as the intensity builds, he picks up speed, thrusting deeper and harder with each movement. I can feel him pushing the limits, going as fast and as deep as he possibly can, until I can feel the head of his cock brushing against the back of my throat.
I gag involuntarily at the sudden intrusion, my eyes watering as I struggle to accommodate his size. But as the initial shock wears off, I find myself instinctively sucking and licking, eager to please him and fulfill his desires. Despite the discomfort, there's a raw, primal energy between us that drives me to continue, lost in the intoxicating sensation of him filling me completely.
As Timothée begins thrusting into me, the intensity of his movements sends shockwaves of pleasure and pain coursing through my body. Tears escape from the corners of my eyes, a mixture of arousal and discomfort overwhelming my senses.
With each powerful thrust, he drives deeper into my throat, pushing me to my limits. I can feel his growls of pleasure reverberating through my body, heightening the sensation of being utterly consumed by him.
And then, without warning, he releases with a primal grunt, filling my throat with his hot, sticky cum. I gag slightly as his warmth floods my mouth, but I swallow instinctively, eagerly taking him all in as he empties himself completely.
As he pulls back, spent and satisfied, I can't help but feel a sense of satisfaction wash over me, knowing that I've fulfilled his desires completely. Despite the tears and the discomfort, there's a primal satisfaction in knowing that I've pleased him beyond measure.
Timothée leads me to a secluded spot in the lake, away from prying eyes. With a confident smirk, he pushes my bikini underwear to the side, exposing my throbbing clit. His touch is electric as he begins to rub my sensitive nub with his thumb, sending sparks of pleasure shooting through me.
With a devilish grin, he plunges his middle finger into my dripping pussy, eliciting a gasp of pleasure from my lips. I ride his finger eagerly, my body arching against his touch as I feel myself teetering on the edge of ecstasy.
"Fuck, you're so wet for me," he growls, his voice rough with desire. "Ride my finger, baby. Show me how much you want it.“
His dirty talk sends me over the edge, my body trembling with the force of my orgasm as I come completely undone in his arms. Waves of pleasure wash over me, leaving me breathless and utterly spent in the wake of our passion.
As Timothée plunges his cock into me, a sharp gasp escapes my lips, mixing with the sounds of the splashing water around us. The sensation is overwhelming as he begins to thrust into me, each movement sending shockwaves of pleasure coursing through my body.
The water churns around us as our bodies move in sync, the intensity of our passion matching the rhythm of our thrusts. With each movement, we exchange dirty talk, fueling the fire burning between us.
“You like that, baby?” he groans, his voice husky with desire. “You’re mine, all mine.”
I respond in kind, my own words dripping with longing and desire as I throw my head back in ecstasy.
“I want you to breed me,” I moan, unable to hold back my own primal urges.
He grins wickedly, his thrusts becoming more urgent as he senses my impending release.
“I’m gonna fill your pretty cunt with my load any second now,” he growls, his words sending shivers of anticipation down my spine.
As he reaches the brink of his own climax, I feel my pussy start to clamp around him, signaling my own impending release. With one final thrust, he pinches my clit, sending me over the edge in a wave of ecstasy.
I scream in pleasure as I come not once, but twice, my body shaking with the force of my orgasm. And as Timothée finally releases his hot load deep inside me, I can’t help but feel utterly spent and completely satisfied in the wake of our passion.

Hi! Longtime fan of your work. You have the perfect blend of history and fantasy. Um, so I just noticed Code Geass was on your list of works you'd do. Would it be all right to have your headcannons of Lelouch and Suzaku? If so, thanks! Keep up the great work!
Hi, of course it is alright to request Code Geass. Will first do some hcs of Suzuaku in form of a Charcter Sheet. I'll do Lelouch next month (knocks on wood). Thank you!
Yandere Suzaku Kuurugi - Character Sheet I
Trigger warnings: religious themes, abuse of authority, power plays, threats, politics, death, violence A/N: I told myself I would be normal here, only to then remember that Suzuaku is a Knight. Here is the end product.
Attributes - What sort of Yandere is he/she?
Suzuaku would be a man with temperament and that would reflect in how he'd be towards you. You and your love wouldn't be something he would take lightly and this would be mirrored in his actions. To him, you would never be a means to an end, you would be an end. You would matter immensely to him and a lot of his actions would be driven by ensuring your happiness and welfare. In many ways, he'd be very intense. To make matters worse, he would place the responsibility for his actions on you. At the end of the day, you would be the reason he'd choose to continue living, why he would fight and kill and manipulate. While this would apply to many a yandere, what would set him apart from other people would be his drive, talent and power. The crown on your head would be his doing, and he would be your self-anointed sword and shield.
Something that would stick out would be his stubbornness and you would have to witness it in all its horrid glory. No matter how you would plead and reason with him, how much you'd scream and spit and yell and curse, he would still insist that he would be yours. It wouldn't change that so many of his actions would be done with you in mind and that he would remain unshaken in his position as your protector and benefactor. Your life would be crafted by hand, and luxury and affluence would be the chains he would shackle you with. Suzuaku would dictate the setting and circumstances of your life and would call it paradise. Who else would care for you as fervently as him?
Suzuaku would be reverent to the point of obsessivness. Just like an idol or philosophers that would beg not to be glamorised and to be seen as all too human, only to be lionised and worshipped with gold and pigments, so would he revere you. Your opinion wouldn't matter here - he would put you on a pedestal and there you would stay. Just like any proper deity, you would get a shrine and regular tributes. Kiss his sword, would you - he'd want your blessing.
Even worse would be the bloody gifts he would bring to your altar - trophies obtained during conquest, curios that other people would kill for, bloodstained jewels and fabrics. Occasionally he would deem it as necessary to bring you a “human sacrifice”, to remind you of your place and to show you what you really are. You would be above a mere mortal in his eyes, enigmatic and divine. Such a being should be largely concealed from the immoral filth of the world, lest you be tarnished and corrupted.
To enable all his stunts and his behaviour, he would be crafty and resourceful. He would have to be, especially to achieve his goals despite all his disadvantages. With everybody worth their salt looking down on him for various reasons, he would have to have his wits about him in order to proceed upwards. While he would be a man of action first and foremost, he wouldn't be stupid by any means. The same would apply to you - maybe you'd be a noble that he would have to work hard to obtain, or you'd be another number that he would have to shield and protect. In the case of the latter, you would actually be a burden to Suzaku’s career, as the gossip that would follow him would only increase. Yet he would never be persuaded to let you go. He'd turn nobles prejudices against them, bend disadvantages to suit his needs and turn expectations on their heads.
In addition to all of these, he would also be greedy for more of you. No matter how much you'd give him, no matter how much you'd relent, he'd always crave more. It would never be enough for him. Ideally, he'd call under your skin and make a home for himself in your ribcage next to your beating heart, so that he'd forever and always be with you. Still, he would be surprising touch adverse - he'd have lines that he wouldn't dare cross, no matter how strong the temptation would be.
Cornering - How would they get you?
Since you would be the centre of his world, and his reason to live, he would move mountains to be with you. At first, he would think that he could twist this into a version of knightly chivalry, of slaying beasts and conquering lands and accomplishing herculean feats in order to receive a small token of your affection and acknowledgement. However, he would soon discover that so little would never be enough for him, and that he would always be greedy for more. He would just have to have you, to touch your skin, to talk to you and spoil you.
Should you be below him socially, it would be very easy to entrap you with him. Just from flaunting his status and money and pulling some strings would be enough to get you in his lap. Some obstacles might be in the way, like how it would impact his reputation and that you might kick up a fuss, but those would only be short term worries. They would be easily overshadowed by the long term benefits. Should you come to him from one of the conquered lands, it would be even easier. There wouldn’t be any pushback as well, since everybody would just see it as him taking a war trophy for himself. Of course, all those nobles and high society people would look down on you, and it would upset him greatly. Suzuaku would land himself in a few duels to defend your honour.
Overall, he would hold your life in his hands, and likely those of your loved ones as well. It would be something he'd remind you of every now and then, just to keep you in line. Despite his “generosity”, he might still kill your family and friends, for the divine need no earthly attachments. At the very end, you would need him and only him to realise your destiny. Everybody else would just be weeds and brambles on the path to your transcendence.
Perhaps you would be higher than him on the social ladder. It would make getting you more difficult, but not impossible. Politics is such slippery business, with people trying to backstab one another at the drop of a hat, especially in such a decadent place as the Holy Britannian Empire. One day, the opportunity for him to swoop in and snatch you up would surely arise. Power is always relative to the situation, so while you might outrank him socially, you still might be powerless to stop his ministrations.
He could take refuge in audacity. Who would you dare confess your plight to? Who would laugh in dark amusement or disbelief if you were to tell them that an honorary Britannian Knight was harassing you? On the flip side, you might be too embarrassed to seek.
Or he could throw his weight around to trap you in an arranged marriage with him. It would be easy for him, especially considering that his sponsors and superiors would give their blessing, since they would desire for him to have another tie to Britannia. With another guarantee for Suzuaku’s loyalty ensured, your happiness would be a small price to pay. Arranged marriages wouldn’t be expected to be happy unions, and people would be all the more willing to look the other way should Suzuaku be more … violent with you. There would be far less skeletons to hide, and a far lesser need to.
Expectations - What do they expect of you?
He would want you to be endearing and charming. If you aren't that way inherently, then it would be no problem. It would be nothing a change of scene and pace and some formal lessons couldn't fix. Divinity is something practised with purpose and ease, and that would be what he'd come to expect of you. He would be aware of his idealism, and of the wrongness of some of his acts, so he would strive to make the reality with you fit the picture in his head. In his eyes, you could have just as well stepped out of a folktale with how etheral you are, and he would want the rest of the world to see that. You’d be a diamond, and you’d just need a bit of polishing so that the rest of humanity would recognise your true worth. In his essense, Suzuaku would be a man that would desire to show his achievments, so he would love to flaunt you off. While you should have eyes only for him, your protector and benefactor, you should be able to handle social situations with a medicrum of grace.
You'd be enigmatic to him, due to him deifying you in his head, and also as a coping mechanism for his own wrong doings. On some level, he would be cognisant of the fact that the relationship with you is toxic, that his actions are depraved and that he shouldn’t treat you as he does. Because of this awareness, your relationship with Suzuaku would have its brighter moments where he would be more lenient to you. That being said, he would also be in denial about a lot of it, and his way of twisting your rebellious, disagreeable or also unhappy behaviour to suit his world picture would be to deem you a mystery. On a more down-to-earth note - mysteriousness in a person is attractive to many, and Suzuaku wouldn’t be an exception. It would bring his great joy to ferret out your secrets and never being able to know you fully.
Steadfastness would be a quality that would make him swoon. Nothing in this world is achieved weak-willed people, so being to stand your ground on the basis of your will would be attractive to him. Of course, it would infuriate him should you stand against him yet and wouldn’t trade your strength of character for anything in the world. It would also be reassuring to him that you wouldn’t be easily cowed. It would mean that you wouldn’t be easily pressured into betraying him, and that you wouldn’t break due to measly gust of wind.
Be purposeful for that adds to the aforementioned qualities. Don’t do things half-heartedly or by halves and you would gain prestige in his eyes. You would be a greater prize to gain, a more powerful person to keep. Suzuaku would rather have a tiger than a housecat, and would take all the swipes and mauling as given. They would just be signs of your attention and his affection. Gods don’t love as ordinary mortals do, after all. Be idealistic to a degree. It would make it easier for him to keep you. If you constantly try to make reality bow to your wishes then he would shape your surroundings to match your wishes so that you would be lulled into complacency. A gilded cage with all the toys needed to keep you entertained, just forget the world outside of the one he created for you, and luxury would be presented to you on a silver platter.
Faded - Would they let go of you in any way?
In his eyes, not even death would keep him from you. Should he die first, then he would come to haunt you in the form of a ghost. Should you be the one to bite the dust before him, then he would honour your memory in every conceivable way and he would fall back into suicidal ideation. What you could do, is fake your death.
Sure it would break his heart and he would make it everybody's problem. Should he suspect a certain faction or group to be behind your demise, then he would bathe in their blood. The blood of innocents might very well be spilled due to you. Suzuaku Kuururigi would be a changed man, a hardened man and people would suffer due to it. He would never forget you, and honour your memory in his own, special ways. Could you make such a selfish choice?
Punishment - How would they proceed if you do something they disapprove of?
If there would be one thing that he would hate, then it would be punishing you. Hurting you would hurt him, most of the time. Besides, you would be special for him to truly hurt. So, if you would step out of line, if you would escape, if you would be disagreeable and rejective, if you would try to kill him, then he would take the most benevolent interpretation/misconstruction of the matter and present it to you. This would be to give you an off-ramp, so that he wouldn't need to punish you and to partially uphold the illusion of a mutual loving relationship.
Though, if he'd take to punishing you, then he would be uncompromising and harsh. He'd derive very little enjoyment from it, maybe a feeling of poetic justice if he'd make you eat your words or self-righteousness if you harmed the cause, yet he'd do the deed regardless.
One of his common methods would be to threaten your loved ones. Since they aren't you they would be free game. In some cases he would even go as far as to summon the one or the other person and imply that he's about to kill them. In front of you, mind you. Should you really be unmanageable, then don't be surprised when he'd casually spill their blood. It could be just a flesh wound, a warning shot for you if you will, and he wouldn't hesitate to go further if needed.
Speaking of warning shots - if your treachery would go beyond him, then he wouldn't be above performing a mock execution. Depending on how well-known your crimes would be, this could be completely public or private. Just a little something to put the fear of the powers that be in you. Maybe the rope would tear, or the hatch wouldn't open. No electricity would come when the switch would be pulled, or the firing squad would shoot with dummy bullets.
Tying in with another point here, the fake execution could be used to hide you away. If everybody would think you're dead, then nobody would take you away from him. With such a sudden change in your life, you would also be more vulnerable and more susceptible to his advances. Maybe the order would come from up above to end your life, and he would use the opportunity to deceive the world and squirrel you away. In that case, the poison would be switched with a sedative or the electric charge would be non-fatal. Once you'd wake up again, he'd have you all to himself and nobody would be able to do anything about it.
Another punishment he'd use would be far more subtle and still devastating. He would pay somebody to backstab you, perhaps even literally. That would put you on edge and make you distrusting towards everybody except him, who warned you about the betrayal and who helped you back on your feet. With a world so cruel, he would be your one safe haven, so allow him to protect you.
Other punishments wouldn't be so grand and even childish. Like making you write lines or run laps, or giving you detention. Should he be particularly angry over a minor matter, then he would leave you alone in the middle of a forest on a rainy day.
Reaction - How would they react to you escaping?
Angry, both at you and himself. Most of the time, he wouldn't be too constricting and simply allow you to roam freely. For the most part, he would count on the negative side effects of his position (lot of enemies on all sides due to being an honorary Britannian knight) to do their magic and keep you in check. Or, if you are of lower birth or also not Britannian, for the rest of high society to ostracise you and you therefore having no chance to flee. All in all, your actions would only register as escaping in his mind if he wouldn't know where you are, and if you would escape alone. Anything other than that would be deemed as a kidnapping or you playing weird games.
Say that you really escape and he would view it as such, then he would speed off to retrieve you. The plan would be pieced together on the move and would even be a good plan. Any scant information would be enough for him to piece together the overall picture and deduce your further plans of action. He would take the initiative as soon as possible, to cut off all avenues of escape and bring you home securely. You would get a stern talking to, and he would take to moving around more for a while. Can't really escape if you don't know where you are, can you?
This would be one of the few instances where he would remind you that he is a military officer, and one of the best out there.
Turnabout - Scenario: You have the upper hand? What would be different from their usual MO?
As far as he would be concerned, you would always have the upper hand. With the hold you'd have over his heart, you probably would. Nevermind that it wouldn't make a big difference in the long run. He would be your sword and shield - manifestations of power that you would possess. However, since he would determine the course of your life through the service he would grant you, you wouldn't be able to do without him. Your knight would be indispensable and from that point on shape your life all the more.
Maybe if you'd come to him through one of his campaigns and then find a way to get the drop on him… maybe then. The problem would be that Suzuaku wouldn't be half-bad, especially in relation to the other Britannians. You could be rid of him, but you would be jumping from the frying pan into the fire. Of course, the option of joining a non-Britanian faction could present itself. Though, would you really want to get stuck in the messy politics and bitter rivalries that would involve?
One way to stand above him, or at least on a level playing field, would be to either wield some genuine power of your own and use it to your advantage. Or to have plenty of political astuteness and worm your way into advising him. Male him more dependent on you than you are on him, and you would have the upper hand. The result would be that he would treat you with more respect, and you would have more agency. He would also be more subtle, though his behaviour towards you wouldn't change aside from that.
Vengeance - What would they do in the face of competition?
With a sword and a lot of violence involved. In the chaos of the battlefield, it would be easy for people to get hurt or killed, even to friendly fire. Now, he wouldn't put his reputation on the line by outright killing a comrade in arms, if that were the case. Rather it would occur due to a minor oversight on his part - letting an enemy through, failing to pass a warning on due to being preoccupied or communications breaking down, or a brazen “overestimation” of their capabilities. During the burial, he'd hold a nice speech and lay some flowers on their grave.
If they'd be the official enemy, then there would be no holds barred. He'd pull his pistol on them if he'd see them on the street, or crush them to dust with his nightmare frame during a military campaign. To Suzuaku, they wouldn't be able to exit the world quickly enough. Other people would be tempted to pack out the torture devices and make the death of the opposition as slow and painful. Not Suzuaku though - he wouldn't waste more time than necessary.
As for higher ranked opponents with more clout - while he would never be the political and tactical genius that Lelouch is, he still wouldn't be hapless when it would come to politics. He wouldn't need to be outstanding, since his skill set would be enough to achieve his ends. Nobles and the like would be so easy to pit against each other - just dig up some dirt and they would already be at one another's throat. He would also utilise the fact that many people unfamiliar with his skills would underestimate him.
If this were to take place at school or a civilian format - then he would begrudgingly flaunt his status. Luck might be on his side and martial law could be declared, then he would have even more power. Then could just shoot the bastard trying to steal you from him. Would there be no martial law, and if the whole drama would take place at school, then he would drag you away by the wrist or throw you over his shoulder and run away with you to get you to stop interacting with certain people. In the case that he'd know no way out, then he'd enlist the help of the school council president.

Jinx and Ekko - Embodying the Tragedy
From day 1 we know Arcane is a tragedy. It's obvious in the first act what type of story this will be. Characters with the best of intentions go through gut-wrenching experiences that they might never fully recover from, people with ill-intentions gain power and affluence, and caring about others on a personal level is the very thing that destroys someone's ability to fight for systemic change. Not a very feel-good tale.
Because Arcane is laden with tragedy left and right, most characters exemplify this theme or go through it in some way, but I think the two characters that speak to it the best are Jinx and Ekko.
Jinx is very straightforward. Tragedy clings to her, follows her everywhere from the moment her parents died in an uprising. Her very name is a reminder of the moment in time where it all fell apart. She did the unspeakable, she killed her brothers and her father. Her sister, understandably upset by this, struck her and walked away long enough to leave her feeling completely and utterly abandoned. After this, she did have a chance to know love and care again, but the individual providing that to her was deeply scarred as well. Silco loved her, truly, but he manipulated her out of fear of her abandoning him, and he fed into her worst tendencies. For someone who was fighting for a whole nation, he was deeply misanthropic as a person, held no good will or trust of those around him, and did his best to instill in Jinx that they could only count on each other, that they were all that mattered at a human level. His ideals of Zaun were lofty and detached from him personally. The paranoia that he encouraged in her was his downfall, when in a fit of panic and delusions she kills him, too.
You would think Jinx would lose hope, and she does, for a while. And then a child falls into her life. She gets a chance to be a big sister this time. She can rewrite some of her own past, care for Isha, encourage her, bring her along to every fight because she won't leave her behind. Even better, she makes up with her older sister, and they find out their shared father is miraculously still alive, even if he's changed as well, and he still loves her. For a brief period of time, everything seems like it's going well, it's healing, she might be okay. Only for it to crash down, for Isha and Vander to die again. And Isha, we must remember, sacrifices herself to save Jinx, something I think Jinx would never have wanted. She would rather herself die than Isha, she's the elder sibling the one who's supposed to protect. So, Jinx drops down to her lowest point yet, suicidal, feeling as if there is no good left in her.
Now, many of the characters have been through lots of shit. But as outlined above in a brief recap of all the people who've died around her, I think Jinx really takes the cake. She's the person who was repeatedly responsible for accidental deaths of her loved ones. And in the end, she has to sacrifice herself to keep Vi from dying at the hands of the shell of their father, knowing he isn't there anymore. *Note. I don't think Jinx is dead. I think she escaped in the vents and then on the airship. but, she still had to allow herself to fall and protect Vi.
And then we have Ekko, who has seen his own share of tragedy. His father, Benzo, dies. He probably holds some guilt for the information he gave to Vi, Mylo, Claggor, and Powder that sent them on the original mission that started all of this. But aside from that, he's really made the most of this situation. He has built up his own community of vigilantes and freedom fighters, people who do their best to help others with the limited resources they can. They bust drug operations to try to keep further harm from proliferating, they have a home hidden away to keep people safe.
Where Jinx does everything wrong at almost every turn, usually by accident, Ekko does almost everything right. He cares about people, he tries to protect others. When he's faced with the ability to take out a key player in the underground crime ring, Jinx herself, he can't bring himself to do it because he can still remember the little girl she once was.
And what does Ekko get, for being so kind-hearted, good-natured, having genuinely good ideals and politics of hyperlocal mutual aid, tending to nature, and protecting your people using group tactics in fights?
A big, fat nothing. Ekko has one of the mostly deeply sad endings of all the characters. He ends up alone, all by himself, having only the memories of the girl he loved in two timelines because one of them left him, and he left the other one.
Yes, he gets a brief interlude, one that brings back his hope for Jinx. Ekko gets to go to an alternate timeline, a different dimension where things went differently. Things were better, Zaun was starting to thrive, the people he loved were mostly still alive (save for poor Vi). This other Ekko and Powder were in love, they were happy, they had an easy rapport with teasing and banter and they worked on projects together and got to hang out at the Last Drop with their family members. Living life in this other guy's shoes, Ekko has a true taste of happiness. And he could have stayed. Instead, he works tirelessly to get back to his own world. Because Ekko is a good person. Even if he didn't have work in the other universe, which he did, because he knows how bad it is there and he knows he's a community leader. Even if he didn't know he needed to use this information and inspiration to get back to Jinx, to give her a little more hope. He also has to be aware of the fact that this isn't his. He took over the body of the other Ekko. He's replaced a human being with his own consciousness. He grows to love Powder, yes, but she's not his Powder to love. Still, he could have stayed- staying is the default, it's inaction, he has to find a way and build a thing to leave, which he could just. Not do.
But of course, Ekko, probably the most selfless person in the whole show, builds the thing and goes back to his own universe. He leaves paradise, he leaves Powder and Benzo and his friends. Again, because he's a good person, because he's not selfish, because he couldn't live with himself if he were that person. He's not that person. He's one of the good ones, one of the best.
And again- what does he get for this sincere goodness? Nothing. He gets less than nothing, he loses Jinx again. After talking her down, convincing her to fight, building something new with her, she's gone again in a flash. We don't get to see him meet up with Vi, even if, perhaps, post-canon they might do so. He's sat, alone, in a place he once kissed a girl he loved.
Arcane is a Tragedy. So the Jinx, the girl whose bad luck follows her every step of the way, never really seems to escape that. Death sticks to her like a shadow and she loses people at every turn. And the Boy Savior does just that, he saves people, and he keeps saving people, and the people he saves, he doesn't get to keep. He doesn't get to keep the people who saved him, either. He doesn't get to keep anyone. He ends up alone. They end up apart.
And thus, to me, they embody two sides of the same tragedy, possibly the best out of anyone.
#timebomb#jinx#jinx arcane#ekko#ekko arcane#ekkojinx#arcane#YES i teared up writing this in a couple places#i do think Jinx-Vi also exemplify the tragedy but Vis end while still not exactly in the best place ever doesnt have her as utterly alone a#my boy Ekko#you could write a thousand words on like any two characters in this show and weave ways how they match and diverge and are tragic but yknow#my writing

There is no such thing as a “go with the flow, it’ll all work out” person. What there is, is someone who lacks social responsibility for their part of planning who gets carried by the rest of the friend group. When they have burned out one groups of friends with this behavior, they float on to the next and start over. They lack social responsibility awareness and competency.
And most of the time they are white with just enough affluence that nothing has ever really been a struggle.
It is okay to disengage yourself from these people.

[A Smile For Your Ovation] - Chloe SSR Card Story Translation
Ft. Akira, Rustica
The Orchestrina’s Melody ~A Moment of Serenity with Chloe~ - Chapter 1
[Courtyard]
That day, I was looking for Chloe with the Serene Orchestrina I borrowed from Rustica in hand.
The Serene Orchestrina was a magical artifact that could transport a wizard into a relaxing, music-filled pocket dimension designed specifically to their tastes.
All the orchestrina’s holder had to do was think of the person they wished to take and open its lid.
Akira: Since it’s nearly Chloe’s birthday, of course I’ll ask him to use the orchestrina with me, but since he designed the outfits for everyone else’s visits too, I’d love to give him another present as thanks…
Akira: (...Huh? It sounds like people are having fun out here…)
[Teacups Clinking]
Hearing a cheerful conversation, I traced its source until I came across Chloe and Rustica having a tea party together.
Chloe: …And then he complimented the embroidery on the sleeve! It seemed like everyone liked their orchestrina outfits.
Chloe: Gosh, that makes me so happy. It’s such a dream come true to be able to dress up so many amazing people.
Rustica: I’m delighted to hear it. If you’re happy, then I’m happy too.
Rustica: However, could you also give me a compliment?
Chloe smiled happily.
Chloe: You’re the greatest teacher and bestest friend ever!
Rustica: Ahaha, thank you, Chloe.
The two of them laughed together beneath the warm sunlight.
As I stood to the side watching them, Chloe suddenly noticed me.
Chloe: Oh! Master Sage!
Akira: Good afternoon. Were you guys talking about the birthday outfits?
Rustica: Indeed we were. Earlier, Riquet and Shylock paid Chloe a visit.
Chloe: They wanted to give me some tea and cookies as thanks for the outfits.
Rustica: I believe they gave a glowing review.
Akira: And it’s well-deserved too!
Akira: In fact, I was thinking the same thing. I’d love to thank you for making those outfits somehow.
Chloe: Huh!? You want to repay me!?
Akira: Of course! If there’s anything I can do for you, just say the word!
Rustica: Why, thank you. In that case, why don’t the two of you spend a day in the City of Affluence together?
Chloe: They were talking to me!?
Rustica: Didn’t you mention earlier how you wanted to buy more sewing material with the Master Sage though?
Chloe: I guess you’re right… But I’m sure the Master Sage had something in mind too, right?
I smiled seeing their familiar back-and-forth.
Akira: No, that sounds like a great idea.
Chloe: Huh!? Really!? Are you sure?
Akira: It’d be my pleasure! I was thinking of inviting you somewhere, but I hadn’t decided what or where yet.
Chloe: Hooray! It’s a date then!
Chloe: I’m super looking forward to it. I hope you are too.
Chloe’s voice bubbled with joy as he spoke. Meanwhile Rustica smiled gently as he watched over us.
The Orchestrina’s Melody ~A Moment of Serenity with Chloe~ - Chapter 2
[City of Affluence]
The two of us arrived at the City of Affluence a couple days later.
Chloe: Alright, where do you wanna go first?
Akira: Let’s take care of your shopping. You came here for something, right?
Chloe: Yep! I was just planning to swing by the same old fabric store.
Akira: That sounds good to me!
???: Could you be…?
Akira: Huh? Did you hear something…?
Turning around, we saw a portrait of a bearded man hanging on the front of a store.
Akira & Chloe: Did that painting just…!?
Portrait: You noticed me? I’ve been waiting so long for someone to speak to.
Portrait: Everyone must be too intimidated by my irresistible charm since no one dares to approach.
Portrait: It’s such a drag being a painting though—you have nothing but time. Though I suppose you’ve never been a painting yourself? Hey, a conversation takes two you know.
Akira: Oh, um…! I…
As I fumbled for a response, Chloe piped up next to me.
Chloe: I totally get you. I lo—ve talking too, so I can absolutely chat for a bit.
Akira: Are you sure, Chloe?
Chloe: To be honest, not at all, but I also understand how it feels to want someone to talk to.
Chloe: I think that painting’s just looking for a friend, kinda like me or that mask we met a while back, so I want to give it a chance.
With that, Chloe walked up to the painting as if he was greeting a friend.
Chloe: Hey, do you know about those wing-shaped cookies that have been all the rage lately?
Portrait: But of course! They give you a light, bouncy feeling, don’t they?
Chloe: Yep yep! I wanna try one so bad, but the lines are always so~ long…
♡♡♡
Portrait: Ahh, that was delightful! It’s been ages since I’ve had such a riveting conversation! Please, you must accept this as a token of my appreciation.
The man in the portrait suddenly stuck out his hand and gave Chloe a ring.
Portrait: Ya—wn, goodness that tuckered me out. I’ve talked so much I can practically feel the paint on my throat drying up…
Chloe: Oh, he fell asleep.
At that moment, a man who seemed to be the shopkeeper came out of the store.
Seeing us, his jaw dropped in surprise as his eyes flicked between the sleeping portrait and the ring in Chloe’s hand.
Shopkeeper: The two of you spoke to that painting and nothing happened!?
Chloe: Huh? Is there something wrong with it?
Shopkeeper: According to legend, if you anger the portrait, it’ll sew your lips together and you’ll never be able to speak again.
Chloe & Akira: What!?
Shopkeeper: That’s the reason why I’ve never been able to remove the painting… Thank goodness nothing happened.
Chloe: Talk about a close call…
Akira: Right? Who knows what would’ve happened if you hadn’t acted so quickly…
Chloe: I just got lucky, but I’m glad I was able to protect you.
Akira: (Chloe’s so nice… He’s always putting his fears behind him if it means lending someone a hand.)
Akira: …I think it was more than luck. Your kindness and bravery has saved me countless times.
Akira: I’d love to take you to the Serene Orchestrina as both a thank you for today and a birthday present.
Chloe: Master Sage…
Chloe: I’d be happy to go with you! I’m so glad you think of me this way. That alone feels like a birthday present already!
Akira: Ahaha, well there’s more where that came from. But first, we’ve got a whole city to explore today!
Chloe: You’re right! Let’s get shopping!
The Orchestrina’s Melody ~A Moment of Serenity with Chloe~ - Chapter 3
[Chloe’s Room]
And so, Chloe’s birthday finally arrived.
Chloe: Come on in, Master Sage!
Akira: Wow, your outfit looks amazing! I’m speechless!
Chloe: Wahh, I’m so flattered! Thank you!!
Akira: If you’re all ready, then let’s get going!
Chloe: Wait, wait, wait! I have a present for you too.
Chloe: <<Suispicibo Voitingok>>
Akira: …! My clothes changed? Wait this is…!
Chloe: Yep! An orchestrina themed outfit for you too!
Chloe: I was really hoping we could match if I ever got to go with you, so I made it just in case.
Akira: And I absolutely love it! Thank you so much for the present, Chloe.
Chloe: Thank you for wearing it. I love getting to dress you up, so the fact that you like it means the world to me!
Chloe: Okay, okay now we’re ready. Let’s go!
With my heart full of warmth, I brought out the Serene Orchestrina and closed my eyes.
Akira: (Chloe is always doing his best for others. He’s so considerate, yet also willing to step up when the situation calls for it. I truly hope this experience will bring him a moment of peace.)
[Music Box Playing]
Channeling all my hopes and wishes for Chloe, I opened the box. Inside, a miniature look-alike doll of him was twirling round and round.
Music began to play and we were enveloped in a white glow.
[Serene Orchestrina]
When our vision cleared, we were standing in a completely different space. A light, bouncy tune was playing all around us.
Its melody was as bright and warm as the sun on a beautiful day.
Chloe: Ooh, this song is so much fun, I love it! It really gets you pumped up!
Akira: I think it suits you perfectly. It’s as lively and hopeful as you.
Chloe: I heard this place is meant to be like the ultimate relaxation spot or something, but it’s even better than I’d imagined! Just standing here makes me feel at peace.
Akira: I’m so glad you like it!
Akira: You’re always working so hard that I wanted to give you a break somehow. That’s why I prepared a little extra something as well.
[Walking]
I took Chloe to the garden where I had already set up a tea table with lots of pastries.
Akira: While it’d be nice to just relax and enjoy the music….
Akira: I thought you’d have more fun sitting and chatting, so I prepared a tea party for us.
Chloe: Wow, you know me so well!
Akira: Of course I do! You’re one of my best friends! And I also asked Rustica for advice.
Akira: The tea set was a gift from him.
Chloe: I thought that bluebird design looked familiar. Rustica loves that motif.
Akira: I also picked out a tea I thought you’d like.
[Pouring Tea]
Chloe: It has such a nice scent~!
Akira: I also brought a ton of pastries. The ones I’m most excited about are… These!
Chloe: Oh! The wing-shaped cookies!
Akira: The Western wizards helped me find them. I hope you’ll have fun with them.
Chloe: Wahh, this is incredible~! I can’t wait to try them!
Chloe: Ehehe, there’s really nothing better than getting to hang out with one of my best friends.
Chloe: Thank you for the amazing birthday present!
Chloe’s violet eyes sparkled with joy as he smiled, befitting of the exuberant music that played all around us. Bubbling with happiness, I found myself smiling back.
Akira: You’re absolutely welcome.
Akira: Happy birthday, Chloe!
Birthday Dance Party - Card Episode
[Lounge]
Akira: Your birthday dance party was amazing.
Akira: Everyone wanted to have a spin with you
Chloe: Ehehe, as soon as one song finished, someone else would ask me to dance to the next one. I had so much fun.
Chloe: We also danced together! It was to one of my favorite songs too.
Akira: That was so much fun!
Akira: I’m sorry about stepping on your feet though… I’m not the best at dancing.
Chloe: Pfft, I did that a couple times too!
Chloe: It doesn’t matter how good you are at dancing. What matters is having fun, and it looks like we both succeeded at that!
Akira: I’m really glad to hear it.
Akira: I had to leave the party early, but I heard it went pretty late. Were you tired?
Chloe: Not at all! I had so much fun that I could barely feel the fatigue. Even thinking about the party now makes me smile.
Chloe: Plus, Rustica gave me some advice to help conserve my energy.
Akira: Wait, are you talking about what he said…?
Chloe: Yep!
Akira & Chloe: Don’t get too dizzy!
Akira: (...Now that I think about it, Chloe’s kindness gives me energy too.)
Akira: Once again, I’d like to say, happy birthday, Chloe.
Chloe: Thank you again, Master Sage!
Home Screen Voice Line
“The Western wizards gave me perfume for my birthday! It has a slightly more mature vibe with a sharp and spicy scent. Ehehe, I’m not sure I can wear it with confidence yet, but hopefully I can someday.”

Chapter preview below - Read the rest at ao3
"What?" Chloe asked rather innocently. Beca's response was to simply look her up and down before giving Chloe a sympathetic look. "You're dressed casually," Chloe pointed out. Beca was wearing a chic grey sweater, the materials it was made from and the tag on in probably cost more than Chloe's whole ensemble. In her arms, neatly folded, hung a cream-colored blazer that paired well with her cream-colored pants. Chloe wasn't sure what they were made off but they both looked sleek, stylish, and comfortable. The shoes Chloe already knew were expensive. It was a brand she didn't know off, but the insignia had caught her attention – Loro Piana – and it was enough to prompt Chloe to look it up before. Beca kept the make-up and accessories simple, with her hair styled back. This was casual for Beca. Not undercover, regular street clothes casual. But her own personal level of casual, one that screamed affluence over anything else.
Chloe on the other hand was wearing her favorite black suite and skirt ensemble that she wore to court a few times now. "I look good in this," Chloe insisted.
"I know, but… Look, Chloe. We're replacing a man and a woman, one of whom had the audacity to book the entire gallery for a private affair for two, I think it's safe to assume it's a date. And if one of them is rich enough to make private art gallery dates a thing…" Beca started to explain.
"This really won't pass?" Chloe asked.
Beca looked at her wristwatch. "We still have time, and I know just the place, come on."
"Just the place for what?" Chloe had asked. But Beca didn't answer.
Instead, they found themselves in Beca's car, with Beca driving silently to some chic, invitation only type of boutique Chloe didn't even know existed. Beca had a light smile on her lips, looking a little proud of herself. When they got there, she had explained that she called ahead of time – so she already planned this from the start, Chloe thought to herself – before Chloe found herself whisked off into a dressing room to try out a few pre-selected outfits for her.
Chloe tried very hard not to chuckle, every time she had to march out and gauge Beca's reaction, "modelling" the outfits she had picked out for her.
Beca was fairly easy to read in that instance. Chloe knew she wasn't convinced every time she pressed her lips together and quirked an eyebrow, and so Chloe would march back and try the next one. Meanwhile Beca was busy looking at whatever was in the black velvety boxes brought out to her by the shop's attendants.
When Chloe stepped out with the third to the last of her pre-selected outfits on – a she knew she had found a lovely black dress with a black blazer that hugged around her figure just right – she knew she found the winner. Beca looked speechless for a minute before she motioned for one of the sales attendants to come back with a big black velvet box. Beca gingerly picked up the necklace inside. The chains were made of gold and attached to the intricate design of the pendant. Beca walked up behind Chloe and placed the necklace around her neck, careful not to touch Chloe directly. Chloe could pick up the scent of Beca's perfume, a delicate mix of floral scents. There was a softness to it that Chloe paired with the elegant yet soft casual style that Beca had for the night. Chloe couldn't help herself blush a little. It almost felt like this fake date was real.
A part of her wished it was.
Beca hummed her approval as soon as she clasped it close, proud of her own choices. The sales attendant walked up to Beca, the box still open. That's how Chloe saw the pair of earrings that matched the pendant of the necklace. Chloe's fingers briefly brushed against Beca's own as she reached for one of the earrings inside the box, sending electricity from where they momentarily touched racing through her veins, down her pulse, throughout her own being.
"Are you sure about this?" Chloe asked with a gulp, trying to squash the butterflies that were starting to wake in stir inside of her. "You're spending quite a lot for one 'date.' This might be too much."
Beca shook her head. "Not at all," she replied before looking away. She watched as Chloe put the earrings on herself. "They were made you," Beca then said rather awkwardly, turning around and walking on away before urging Chloe to follow her out.
This was bad, they have a mission to complete, but Chloe couldn't help but notice how they were both acting like teenagers
Still, a part of Chloe's mind was indulging in maybes and fantasies. Of how things would have been if she had met Beca in a different circumstance.
Beca briefly smiled and let Chloe put the earrings on by herself. Chloe kept looking back at her through the mirror but Beca's expression had become unreadable in that moment. She couldn't help but wonder if her – well, their – beloved consigliere shared the same thoughts as her.

Venus in Capricorn is slow burn when it comes to love.
Their romance needs gradual and organic development of emotions.
Falling in love or getting serious without enough time and a good read of the other party is not ideal.
Capricorn Venus loves rigidity and longevity. They adore people who are tenacious and can stand the test of time.
In an ideal world, they will end up with someone who they deem as tough and responsible enough to go through life with.
The life they know of is where their pleasure and desire were taxed.
They hope for someone who had paid the same price for their own glory.
Their standard is high and must be kept that way.
They wish to be with someone who had gone through what they are now fighting, and are informed enough to willingly stick with them through the same process.
They want not a friend or a mentor, but an embodiment of their greatest achievement.
At their lowest, they want to feel better than anyone else, and so they stay with a flatterer.
At peace, they charm the most accomplished person within their sight.
Remember, Capricorn Venus’ self-discipline and modesty will bring about affluence, and backing where needed.
They are knowledgeable, graceful and unforgettable.
A Capricorn Venus woman who is comfortable in her own power, is a blessing to anyone who she sees as a companion.

Capitalist elites are driving the rationalities of overproduction while overconsuming and disproportionately intensifying extraction, commodification and usage of various resources, thereby threatening planetary systems and justice. Through media, advertising, influencer culture and control over means of production, they exacerbate not only inequities but perpetuate destructive growth models and logics of overproduction, overconsumption, disposal/wastage and disregard that crosses boundaries and borders. These global elites participate in accumulation by dispossession with disproportionate capitalist benefits from resource control and the promotion of neocolonialist policies via outsized policy influence. As a result, they contribute directly to ecological harms, biodiversity crises, water pollution, air pollution and climate breakdown that they themselves rarely experience firsthand, but which undermine wellbeing and safety of the majority, particularly BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and people of colour) communities everywhere. More insidiously still, socioecologically destructive and unfettered economic growth models and institutional policies shape the responses to the problems they create, influencing what desirable outcomes and solutions should be and what individuals should aspire to behave like to be modern. Instead of tackling the root causes of climate breakdown, the implication is that ideal global subjects should participate in particular notions of economic progress and consumption, even across the Majority World. As a result, the imperial modes of living of the globally-rich are promoted as global aspirations for all. The capitalist model of hyperconsumption, extractivism, commodification and a discard culture of increasing waste production are presented as signifiers of progress, while discounting their environmental consequences. This is affluence, but unsustainable affluence. The externalities are often overlooked, borne by the global poor who are simultaneously blamed for their poverty while being told they should support unsustainable capitalist models of progress. Rarely, by contrast, does the fact that the ever-expanding global billionaire class have carbon footprints thousands of times larger than average citizens feature in the models designed to curb the impacts of their behaviour. Yet this inequality is fundamental to climate breakdown. Ecological and planetary boundaries are being transgressed predominantly by capitalist elites in the Global North (or the high-energy industrialised economies), causing disproportionate social and ecological harms to large numbers of marginalised communities elsewhere. Extraction and discard culture are embedded in the economic models and processes which govern not just natural resources exploitation and commodification, but also the destruction of human lives and potentials, resulting in a disregard for the care economy and resilience of ecosystems. It also often involves lip service to basic welfare of billions caught in exploitative and neocolonial labour relations with global capital and extractive resource-based trade that causes irreversible harms, usually locally more profoundly.
