We take a look at five of the leading humanoid #robotics companies including Boston Dynamics, Agility Robotics, Figure (which is working in collaboration with #OpenAI), Unitree and Tesla.

Ultimately the goal of these companies is for these robots to be as ubiquitous as mobile phones. Can you imagine these guys in your home?

Typically these robots learn tasks through digital simulation and mimicking human trainers. The majority of the demonstrations show how these robots can do things like climb stairs, handle fragile objects and in some cases solve problems.

The height and weight of these robots is the result of careful consideration to avoid fears around #AI robots going rogue like we've also seen in the movies. These robots are shown to be relatively slow so that the general public can feel reassured that they can run away if they need to escape.

If the price and functionality was right, would you keep a robot in your home, next to the vacuum cleaner?

Mr. House’s personality makes a lot of sense when you learn his Charisma STAT is a 1. His Intelligence is a 5. While his Perception, Endurance and Luck are all 10.

Especially when you consider what Dr. Usanagi says when you go to get a luck implant.

"If I implant the Probability Calculator in your frontal lobe, you'll be able to calculate odds a little better. It's not quite the same as making you luckier, but you'll be able to nudge things your way more often."

psa cuz this has been bothering me:

there's more than one robot dog company. if you're getting killed by a robot dog, it's probably not Boston Dynamics' Spot, since they've made a pledge to not weaponize their robots (though it's not against them being used for surveillance or carrying stuff by militaries or police, so you may still see Spot used by police) (though also i don't fully trust that that pledge will be held to properly).

if you're getting killed by a robot dog, it's probably Ghost Robotics or some other company, since ghost robotics distinctly has not done that pledge and markets to defense applications. so if you need to fight back against a robot dog trying to kill you then knowing how Spot is built may not help very much; it depends on the differences between Boston Dynamics' Spot and Ghost Robotics' Vision-60

Rise of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - Dino Megazord

Story/Background stuff under the cut, design notes + commentary in the tags!

When needed, the Power Rangers can summon colossal machines known as Zords from their Power Coins. The form a Zord takes is dependent on their personal thought of what could be most powerful at the time of bonding to their coin. For Zordon's originally chosen Power Rangers 10,000 years ago, it was mythical creatures significant to each of their alien cultures, similar in appearance to a Dragon, a Unicorn, a Griffin, a Stone Lion and a Phoenix.

In this team's case, upon finding the coins, Billy posits that the coins could potentially date back to the Ice Age, or even the time of Dinosaurs. Zack and Trini latch on to the Ice Age comment and eventually manifest the Sabertooth and Mastodon Zords, while Jason, Billy and Kimberly think of a Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops and Pterodactyl, respectively.

While the five Zords don't appear as physical contructs until some time into the team's struggle against the Dark Green Ranger, once they do, the Rangers are able to combine them into the great Dino Megazord.

Armed with the powerful Mastodon Cannon and the Triceratops Saber, the Dino Megazord is easily a match for Rita's Dragonzord, eventually gaining the ability to combine with it when Tommy reclaims the Green Power Coin and summons her own purified version.

heyy i was going through the asks and i saw a pic of your cat and he/she is lovelyyyy 🤍🤍 but i saw them wearing a collar with a bell hanging and i don't know if you know this but bells are really bad for their hearing and it decreases their special hearing abilities over time so it would be better if you took it off the collar

hi hi!! i love my kitty so so much she’s so evil and sweet and naughty and conniving and soft she’s like if a cloud had a pink nose and was also a teeny tiny gremlin 💘🤩🥰💖😭💕💞

about her bell: i did a bunch of research on collars and bells and name tags when i adopted her and made sure to get her a quick-release collar with a lower pitched bell (i find the high pitched/kitten ones so annoying lololol) that makes more of a plasticky sound than a metallic one. it’s also not very sensitive, so it doesn’t jingle every time she moves. like right now she’s sitting here next to me having a nice bath and her bell isn’t making any noise at all!

she lives exclusively indoors, so the bell won’t interfere with her hunting/surviving outside, and she doesn’t have trouble with anxiety or sensitivity issues that might make the bell uncomfortable for her. she does however do a lot of hiding and snooping and getting into things she’s not supposed to (re: she’s naughty & conniving), so the bell helps me figure out where she is in my apartment and makes sure i can find her when she’s creeping around and getting into trouble. it also makes me feel better to know that i could find her quickly if something like a fire alarm goes off or a pipe bursts in the building (this happens often in the winter where i live, it’s super annoying) and i could get her out of here fast if i needed to.

i love my cat so so much & i promise she has a wonderful life! she gets a ton of attention and treats and loads of playtime, she has lots of warm, sunny nap spots and more toys and puzzles and cozy places to sleep than she could ever want! she’s basically my evil little child (my mom calls her her granddaughter 😭) and i take her well-being very seriously, and i hope u know i’m not just brushing off your concerns 🫶 i just feel confident in the decisions i’ve made for her. thank u for bringing it up, and i’ll be on the lookout for any signs that she’s becoming uncomfortable or that her health is being impacted 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶

How would Silver deal with a robot designed to defeat him in the same vein Omega did with Shadow in 06?

Hmm, would that have to mean he was on good terms with the robot first before it got reprogrammed to capture him? I'm actually wondering just how Omega managed to defeat and capture Shadow... I know Omega was made specifically by Eggman to keep Shadow contained, but Shadow is the Ultimate Lifeform and insanely strong on top. In a battle between them, I am not sure if Omega can come out as victor. Was that ever touched upon in '06?

That being said, if there's a robot that can defeat Shadow, I think it's not impossible to create one that can defeat Silver. I figure it'd be smart of its creator to make one that directly plays into Silver's PK, either through no-selling or countering it, as that is Silver's main mode of attack in most games. As for what Silver would think of it, I do think he'll take the threat seriously once he sees that this robot can absolutely have a victory over him. For all his black-and-white thinking, I figure even Silver knows that if he's defeated and captured, that is it for the safety of the future. It's not something I can imagine he's willing to risk! Thus, retreating from the battle might be his best choice, though I doubt he'll be happy with that. But better to live to fight another day, I do suppose!
