i said i would redraw it, and i’m actually pretty happy with this one. i wanna explain a few design choices/hcs

jay has a medicine pouch bc I think he’d be a field medic. zane does all the medical stuff when they’re on the bounty or at the monastery, but since jay is the fastest I think he’d serve that role during battle. he also would wear exclusively converse lol. he has lightning scars, most prominently on his face. he’s partially blind in that eye

lloyd has rosacea. it’s pretty common in fair skinned people, and i don’t see it represented often in art

nya likes to dye her hair. she dyes it blue not only because of water, but also because it’s jay’s color. he is the one that helped her dye it

kai has fingerless gloves bc his fire keeps burning the cloth off, until he finally removed them. he also regularly sets his hair on fire without realizing

nya and kai are the same exact height. the only reason he started making hair spikes is so that he would look taller than her. he ended up keeping them bc he liked how they looked

cole can’t work if his forearms are restricted. that’s it lol. he also has steel-toed boots. he has scars on his arms from various hikes and rock climbing accidents

zane uses ice skates. he mostly uses hockey style ones in battle for speed, but he sometimes figure skates for fun. he always has a comm with pixal in his ear

also just a fun note, the height diff between jay and zane is close to me and my younger brothers height diff irl (im shorter)

When Jomo disappeared and Shakes' mom was going through a lot was the time they bonded the most.

Shakes got a habit of watching Nandi when he was doing homework or simply just drawing to make sure she didn't swallow anything dangerous, like crayons or Legos.

Since Nandi didn't really remember Jomo, her brother became the closest thing to a dad.

Emmy (my OC) is like 151, she somehow has stopped growing since fourth year.

I like to hc that they wear the uniform (without the robe) differently. Including different shoes.

Mattheo usually rolls his sleeves up but only the right one after he got the dark mark...

Only Draco, Blaise, Enzo and my OC dress rather properly. (Though Pansy and Emmy cut their skirt shorter than regulated)

blade was old before he was de-aged and idk why the powers that be would be worried about youthful beauty so i think hed have gone back to his physical prime rather than early adulthood, and all the best blacksmiths ive met have been late 30s/early 40s

kafka imo is close to 40 because i like to hc that she mostly raised us

i just like the idea that a pretty blond twink can be pushing 40

serval is old enough to be friends with someone's mother, but bronya wasnt adopted as a baby so i think theres some wiggle room with cocolia being slightly older than serval that could plausibly put her in the early 30s bracket

wahtssaap ( me again , sorry it's long ; thought I'd share this ) I wanted to ask ( if it hasn't been answered ) ; Question : could describe your father ? you know-his personality , how he acts towards/treats you , what you think of him , special moments/memories you hold close to your heart & etc ? Not related : currently my HC is that he loves you but doesn't say it out loud cuz he's gets embarrassed/was never taught to do so + it makes him look " soft " which apparently he dislikes . At times , he looks and sounds incredibly fierce/intimidating but is actually quite loving and affectionate ( not that he'd ever admit it ) . Like here's the description of a comic I once drew of you guys ; basically Charlie , Vaggie n Lucifer was observing you and Adam from afar . He's " talking down " to you ( literally , because of height diff ; like back bend-over and everything ) and looks fierce and angry but in reality he was actually giving you words of encouragement/some advices ( something about sinners ) . But since Charlie , Vaggie & Luci didn't know any better at the time , they all just assumed Adam was scolding you . Afterwards , his face calms down ( not look fierce anymore ) , then he said something while his finger is in the air ( like when a mother is advising her kids about something ) , which made you smile a little and waddle to his direction to which you give him a longing hug , which he gave back/reciprocated as well while his face softens a little- which shocked Charlie , Vaggie and Lucifer . also afterwards Vaggie said " no fucking way... (Diff anon) Hmm, not to downplay it but, I wouldn't completely use [pre-reboot] Archie as a base since it had a different "design philosophy" than the games do. (Wasn't just the echidnas who looked like clones.) Plus, almost everyone was around the same height. The ones that weren't was already pre-established to be such like Rotor or Vector, or were deities like Mammoth Mogul.

Then you had Fleetway where adults foxes were twice as tall as Tails, almost near Vector's height. (Technically AOSTH too with the fake parents.)

Game-wise as far as canids; if Gadget(Forces Wolf Avatar), Hocke-Wulf, the MOSTH Conductor and his wife, and the fox bullies are anything to go by. Tails might not completely tower Sonic later, but may have a few inches on him. And an different physique; since it seems wolves are skinnier than foxes?

But it's all hcs at the end of the day though. (Should the day come to pass, I'm very curious on what Sega would come up with for the fox boy. I don't think any of us can prepare for what he might sound like.)

Hmm, probably. But then the same is also applied on STC verse and AoSTH. All three of them are different from gameverse canon and have their own design philosophy. (I wouldn't say everyone. Archie has a lot of characters and I remember some of them were pretty tall, and they were not previously established either.)

And like I said, animal species is a factor but not like, a determining one. I also mentioned Big and Blaze and the wolves, and in gameverse even the jackals are of the average mobian size and height, not just in comic. So yeah, various factors.

And as you said, at the end of the day, they are headcanons. The more widely indulged 'Tails will be taller' concept is fun and all for jokes and shenanigans when he's a teen but it's not my personal preference for when they are fully grown adults. I headcanon that they'll be the same height when older.

Height headcanon from shortest to tallest: Jane, Rose, Dave, John/June, Dirk, Roxy, Jake, Jade.

Rose used to be taller than Dave, but then Dave had a growth spurt lol.

Jake English:

Jake has NPD ( made a whole post about this a long time ago, which I want to add onto one day because I have more to cover ) + Autism. He's also Nonbinary but hasn't realized it yet / Trying to repress it.

Jake is aromantic, I'm not sure if I see him as bi or gay yet.

Dave Strider:

Dave has DID because of his upbringing ( Again, made like 4 posts and 3 artworks about this ) + ADHD. Candy route won me over so I HC Dave as gay, though I also like aromantic hcs as well. He's cisgender to me sorry, his gay realization was just so cis to me. Also he has really crooked teeth and I wouldnt be surprised if he lost an adult tooth or at least chipped some because I also HC that he prolly would lose baby teeth during strifes.

Davesprite:

Well I Wonder If I Have Any Thoughts About Size Difference.

This is the first post in my 19-page long tag for size differential!kink, lol. Begin as you mean to go on, I guess.

I'll shortly rb a one-two size diff ficlety/hc thing I did in the way back, too, but for now --

So it's so fun to have Dean feel All Kinds of Ways about the size diff, especially since it's fun to take canon as canon and say that he hit his max height of 6' at ~eighteen while Sam was struggling to keep up. But then when Sam finally does hit his real growth spurt(s) and rockets up, Dean's initial betrayal ("I'm older, how the hell are you taller?") turning into lust is of course delish.

BUT

I am sooooooo much more interested in Sam's own size diff kink, in particular if it's not just lust for being bigger (because of course he's bigger, than basically anyone he meets) but in specific a) being bigger than Dean specifically, bc of the hot-gut delight that might be possible re: the size reversal noted above; b) a lust born very precisely of Dean's alarmed kink. Which is a subtle distinction but one that I love -- in which Sam is just chill, like 'yeah, so what, I'm big af', but Dean's complicated tangle of emotions about it sets off a kink fire in Sam as a kind of call-response. (I like that all the time with them, tbh, but size is such a dumb gut-level neanderthal kink that it's particularly fun -- this waking realization of, oh, you like me to be able to overpower you? Oh, well then. I very much like making you come so hard your brain leaks out your ear. :)))

There's also a very delicate little turn to articulate in Sam that I really adore and don't feel like I see enough, which is this emotional/lust snarl around the tangled threads of: enjoying being bigger than Dean; enjoying that Dean likes it; but also feeling somewhat alarmed about his own enjoyment (re: previous fears of monsterhood or violence); but ALSO getting bizarrely off on that exact vague guiltiness or alarm. I have a major thing for sex volcano!Sam, so the moment where he'd be holding back and holding back and then erupting forward and using all that EVERYTHING to its fullest advantage is just. Lovely. And so I have written many words on the subject.

I think the love for them is what keeps you going, keeps them alive. I wrote for skekGra from The Dark Crystal at one point, he taught me a valuable lesson. When I  went to write the ol’ generic line of   ‘he raised his eyebrow’  I was like OH CRAP, is alien birb he hast no brow! So I had to revaluate ways to express a characters reactions. Writing for a non-human muse brings things to you like that and I def recommend it. Eli can’t even arch a brow xD Ha! Old habits die hard, or not at all. Gra was also the muse who was told “I Love You’ TWICE, via two diff muses as well {in game|in thread} and that had not happened to me everrrrr! WHAT  INSPIRED  YOU  TO  TAKE  ON  THIS  MUSE :   Funny story I was brainstorming with another writer from the Attack On Titan series, I had a character within the Demon Slayer realm and we planned a huge crossover. I was watching the series when the last manga came out so I did some recon. I was in Barnes and Noble, cheating, flipping through the last book to see how much my fav charrie was in it when I paused to look up. Ancient Magus Bride stared at me, Elias’s bone-clad face looked me in the eye and said ello. I was taken aback, I was like I have no idea who you are but you def look like my cuppa tea. Well, I remembered the name. Nearly three months later. Looked up the anime on crunchy roll, watched it and fell in LOVE with Elias. The entire series is beautiful. You have to give it a chance, past the first episode at the very least. Its so underrated and deserves so much more. I adore it and here I am. 

FAVOURITE  ASPECTS  OF  YOUR  CURRENT  MUSE :  Elias is one of the calmest muses I have written for. He’s low-key, chill bone-head to write for. I appreciate that because I have had some hurricane muses that were exhausting to write for. I do like how the entire series is serious but with moments of humor, that keeps me. Having a chuckle at things. 

BIGGEST  INSPIRATION(S)  TO  WRITING :  Meeting new friends who adore the series and or know of it. Its a fairly silent fandom. I have always been a big fan of crossovers and other peoples Original Characters. I love leaping into different realms, worlds and or fandoms, keeps me on my toes as a writer. 

FAVOURITE  TYPES  OF  THREADS : All of them. Def laughing at or with my muse is high up there. Fluff. Angsty things -jus a touch. Putting Eli into situations where he has to think fast. I love it when you click with a fellow writer and you just world build like all hell, bouncing ideas, Hc’s and random tidbits off of each other. Its so fun.
