Writing question

Hi !! I have a story I want to write and in it the main character goes through alot

-sudden death of relative and being pretty much isolated-

and I imagine that it causes him to have a panic attack ( or anxiety attack?) And I'm looking for tips on writing it.

This character has never had an attack before, and is by himself at the time, and alot of the advice I see is best for characters who suffer frequent panic attacks, or are at least around people who can help, so if anyone has any advice I'd love to hear

Also if you feel like including a panic/anxiety attack at all would be a bad idea lmk

OBSESSION OF IMPERFECT.

Hey, can i ask why are you so obsessed with imperfect photos, videos like it's a bit-

Weird? I Laugh.

Yes! Like everyone wants a perfect photo of themselves so they look beautiful and don't feel embarrassed you know?

Hmm... I was like that also but each time I looked back at my *the perfect pose* and Beauty photos i didn't feel any emotional attachment but strangely when i see the photos my mom took of me when i wasn't paying attention or just a random pictures of me having a bad day when i see those photos something inside of me makes me feel as if i am alive in those photos.

But they are not perfect?

Yes their not perfect and neither i am, no human is perfect right?

But just why? I don't understand what makes the imperfect photos so attractive to you?

They give me a sense of familiarity and show how much time has passed and how far i have come. The time I thought felt like forever is gone and it's been a decade since everything is changed but if i didn't have those imperfect photos i would have never realised how fast time actually went and how much things around me and inside me have changed....

Above all I don't know if perfect exits or not but Imperfect already exists and i am in love with it like a mother loves and is fond of her disfigured child.

i love the imperfect photos, they are more genuine and meaningful.

Where should I publish my writing work?

I am writing a romance book but I'm not sure where to publish it. I want to earn something or at least where there is potential to earn. Can someone suggest me some good platform to publish my work?

The queer experience in a religious household

The queer experience in a religious household is being quite and dinner tables,

avoiding topics that could lead to discussions of so called politics and the disaster of the world.

The heat rising from between my ribs to my neck. The hopes that my brown skin won't show the anxiety on my neck. That no one will notice the shaking of my leg

because it is fear of being found out.

Of being abandoned and being called a shame

It's leaving conversations under the pretence of needed to blow my nose, or needing to use the bathroom. Because hearing people call my identity wrong makes my body hot and my heart feel shame.

How much more shame can a person withstand before they implode from the fire in their chest?

if i'm totally honest the ch1 mystery was really bad- like it's clearly made by ameture mystery writers who don't know how mystery works, and it sucks because literally everything else about p;eg is absolutely phenomenal! granted the fangan crafting community as a whole has a huge issue with trying to out-bombastic the canon mysteries and shock the players/readers with little regard for how mysteries are actually suppose to work- i don't fault them for falling in line with that popular mindset- but it just sucks alot more with this one because of how well done eveything else is.

i'm willing to yap more on this if anyone is curious enough for a breakdown, but for now i'll leave it at this cause i don't have time to sitdown and write an essay rn

•Kaavs/ K. Just a normal young adult amature writer, rookie editor flexing her creator wings.

• InFp, Hufflepuff, Hopeless Romantic born in the wrong century and an old soul stuck in a 20s something body.

•I am an introverted bookworm and cinema maniac who finds solace in binging my favourite TV shows and movies and binge reading obsessively as a coping mechanism.

• While I'm not being a med student and contemplating the meaning of life, I am also an ameture writer and a rookie editor who loves taking long walks at night, loves and buys books as a coping mechanism and who hates and sucks at small talk and goes into hibernation mood and ghosts everyone I know more often than I care to admit.

• NCIS is my comfort show and I have a special connection and love for it and the characters.

•Other fandoms I'm into are Marvel, Agents of Shield, Person of Interest, Burn notice, Hawaii 50,Mandalorian, Harry Potter, Star wars, Castle, Lucifer, Rookie, Bones, The Mentalist, Grey's Anatomy, House M.D. In short basically all cop and medical shows there is to watch you can bet I watched it.

• I'm a sucker for Thriller, Murder mystery and Romance, Paranormal and fantasy stories. Gets all teary eyed on almost every emotional scene and also stan all middle aged, silver foxed, hurt, traumatised, misunderstood Alpha male characters.

•Out of all the characters I have seen I adore and stan Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Agent Phil Coulson, Mr. John Reese, Dr. Gregory House, Din Djarin with all my life. Also a hardcore Slibbs and Philinda shipper. They are my power couple.

• When I'm not writing fanfics, obesessively reading or binge watching, I am also a rookie editor who makes edits of her favourite Fandoms to feel all warm and fuzzy.

one thing i want to know about you: how did you start writing and what does it bring into your life? 🫶

Oh What an Incredible ask to get. And a terribly long story for you. But who am I to deny you the adventure! Come along with me to a bit of my childhood and my obscure past!

For creative writing, I used to write folk stories that I was told when I was a lot younger. At first I wrote folk stories told to me. As our tribe does a lot of oral traditions.

For non-creative writing, religious structures were dense in my family. Our family traditions obligated me to write and document a lot of my studies and focuses which meant journaling. A lot. And losing track of notes was often very costly and difficult. In my teenager years, I experienced extreme hardship. To which, in conjunct with my obsession with reading Kafka and Dostoevsky, I began to pretend to write letters to Kafka as if he were still alive and would read them some day. I imagined Kafka as a pen pal and what he'd write back to me or what he'd say to my woes and concerns. This was around the same time I developed a fascination in ameture astronomy. I formed a love for a few particular stars. One being Arcturus of whom I am tenderly adoring of. Writing has always been a critical part of my life. Either through my occult studies imposed onto me by my family and our family traditions. Or by my escapism through writing to and about characters I felt would have good words, wisdom, or ways to give me reprieve during my times of hardship. Combine that with a creative love of fantasy and folkloric stories of the Hidden Folk or the folkloric stories of cultures and traditions across the globe... Well, you now have the hobby writer that I am today! It's a bit of a long story. But I hope it has satisfied your curiosity!

I am new here and I'm excited to show off some of my work. I am an ameture writer as of last year and no one has lain eyes on my work than me. I feel content when I'm writing, something about creating something. ANYTHING. I fell in love with books (mostly of the fictional variety) at a young age and my vivid and in my opinion, beautiful imagination ran wild. I hope to recapture that feeling and show my gratitude to writers everywhere by doing for others what was unknowingly done for me.

I am currently working on a project with no title.It's nowhere near finished but i will post updates and chapters when I can. I don't expect what is written or what is yet to be written will be permanent. I make up my story as I write and things might change. I am open to constructive criticism as well as tips if anyone has knowledge to bestow.

I hope to meet many interesting new people and continue drawing inspiration from thin-air.

Hi there! I would suggest Google docs as a good starting place. It's free and you can write pretty much anytime you have internet connection. It also transfers over to AO3 really easily!

The competition was absolutely cutthroat.

Everyone from ameture day-one newbie writers to bigshots and multi-award winners were blitzing the absolute life out of their fingers and brains trying to write or sort out decent fictional universes. World leaders, for the first time ever, were (mostly) cooperative, establishing a World Vote system that would count every single sane person's vote. Humanity had one shot to save itself. The rules were simple enough, but getting everyone to vote on what would be best was going to be the biggest political flustercuck of all time.

We had some limitations- the world we chose had to have definable, established rules, for one. Secondly, we couldn't fundementally alter humanity's existing innate physical characteristics. I was pretty bummed about that one, honestly. The third and final rule, we couldn't pick a universe that would ultimately result in the violent demise of an existing, defineable group.

That third rule was really messing with our options. A surprising number of popular fandoms had swathes of what amounted to genocide of people. Groups lots of people didn't even know existed barred us from the ever-coveted MCU, to my mother's deep dismay. My father and elder sister mourned Star Wars being axed from the list. At least rule 3 kept the billionaires in check.

One thing we were allowed was submitting a newly-written fictional universe. Tons of submissions were put in and rejected every day. I figured I should try my hand, even though I hadn't written so much as a 500-word essay since I dropped out of high school. I had maybe a month to write and submit a well-defined fictional universe for humanity to escape to.

I had an idea of what I wanted. But as for how I was going to write it to fit the guidelines, I hadn't a clue. I started with just scribbling ideas in an old math notebook.

Day One of Thirty, "How To Write A Perfect World!"

-don't make it like Jurassic Park (no dangerous sci-fi creatures that could kill people)

-don't change people's bodies to be something they aren't (like turning all humans into bugs or whatever)

I stared at the third line, mind blank. How do you even do worldbuilding?

“Okay, so, bad news, your world is scheduled to be destroyed. Good news, you guys get to go to any ‘fictional’ world you want to relocate. However, it’s a majority vote and there’s no take-backs. Choose wisely.”

Yesterday I read “Take me with you” by Michael Robert. Romance. 2023.

Another book from the mystery box and another DNF.

It had the same problem as “Exhale”, the writing was ameture, and characters rambled on and on and over explained everything. The writer also avoided using the word “said” everyone was cooing, Admonishing, hissing, admitting, ex. It was distracting. I did like this a little better than Exhale, even thoh the characters rambled and over explained, what they did talk about was somewhat interesting. The premise was also more compelling. I considered reading more but in the end I knew I wouldn’t enjoy it, and that this story has been done better elsewhere. If the prose were better I definitely would have read more. I hope this writer improves.

I only read 3 chapters (18 pages) so no rating.
