Their new Espresso-Tea-Maker. Wait, what? That's not what it said on the tin!

No one was more surprised than the new state-of-the-art coffee machine itself when it simply prepared the perfect cup of tea for its new owner called “Angel”. Obviously it wasn’t built to make six shots of espresso all at once for the "Dearest" one either, and yet... Needless to say that neither option was actually in the manual.

Please excuse this silly little random Good Omens LEGO one shot, brought to you by 'ineffably-queer-book-lover was recently asked to create a LEGO MOC of an espresso machine as a wedding gift'.

Apparently the happy couple (enthusiastic LEGO fans) in question was getting a certain kind of espresso machine (not a coffee machine, as I learned) as a wedding gift and their friends thought it would be fun to include a little LEGO miniature. So, yeah, I built them a MOC as close to the real deal as I could manage.

That got me thinking of Aziraphale and Crowley (a surprise to exactly no one) and what shenanigans they would get up to if someone gifted them a coffee or espresso maker. Obviously I couldn't resist to build a nice new sleek state-of-the-art machine for our ineffable duo and get them some appropriate cups!

Bonus 1: Cut scene (sort of) that actually shows Aziraphale's custom-made tea in his cup:

Bonus 2: The MOC as shown here if you want to build it yourself (most parts are original LEGO or at least available from LEGO in similar colors; the connector rings obviously aren't, but it would work without them if you attach the handles the other way round or just use simple 1x1 round plates for a coffee machine instead of an espresso maker). If you only want to use the smaller cups (for espresso, you know?), just leave out the 1x2 plate in the back:

His house currently has no furniture, but he did get flown to a foreign country to participate in a documentary premier, expenses paid by his contractor, just a few weeks ago. He got into college not for the classes (he already knew all of that) but as a way to live in London and network with bigger industry people, and it worked. Hello folks! Been busy and offline for a bit...I have a whole checklist of people to reply to, asks or otherwise. Apologies to those waiting on me, I promise I haven't forgotten you <3

Anyway I just wanna say: I absolutely love writing fic. I adore it, I think storytelling is fantastic and I want everyone to have the opportunity to practice it. Even if people write things I won't read, I'm glad they're here.

To me, storytelling is about communicating a variety of things. You've got the story itself (characters doing things) and what it's about at the core (this could be a whole essay in of itself). But there's another thing specifically regarding fanfic: you get to talk about something you care about from the source material.

Introducing stuff that isn't as well known is so much fun! People can get touchy about fanon vs canon because they have a fundamental love for the source material and it feels a bit crummy to not be able to share it--but that just means it's up to you to write a fic to communicate that love!

I know, I know. It can suck to be the one having to write what you want to read. But consider how fun it is to be able to share it! Readers can tell when the writer is having a good time with their story. Persuade them to come and engage with what you enjoy by demonstrating why you care. And remember--the ultimate goal of critique should be to get someone making what they want to be making.

I want you all to know that - when I'm writing stuff for this blog - I am constantly thinking of this exchange from the Doctor Who episode The Girl in the Fireplace

I've never been able to find a gif of this exchange or I'd be using it all the time.

[Clip context: The Girl in the Fireplace is about a trio of time travelers landing on a spaceship in the distant future. They quickly discover that the ship is full of windows in time, all of them leading to different places in France in the 1700's. While the time travelers are wandering around the ship, one of them finds a horse and then rejoins his companions, leading to this exchange:

Me: *points to all of canon* I mean the horse IS concerning, but I think you may want to step back and take a moment to appreciate the presence of pre-revolutionary France. While it can be fun and worthwhile to talk about the horse, the horse should not be drawing your ire. Its very much a symptom, not the actual disease. It is not worth getting angry about the horse.

Be like the Doctor. Have fun with the horse. Give it a name. Ride it off into the sunset! (aka do stuff like drawing cute fan art or writing a fix it fic that focuses on the issues that bother you most or consuming art made by others that focuses on the stuff about canon that makes you happy. I've found it to be a much more positive outlet than stewing over horses.)

I realized I should probably introduce myself properly so: hello! I'm Speaky(but you could also call me draven), i'm a minor, I am Belgian and I have no idea what to do here except talk with others about similar interests, because I cannot draw even a little bit and my writing skills are debatable.

I love a lot of things, but I am highly focused on:

The Lucky Luke comics, Ninjago(Masters of Spinjitzu and beyond) Star Wars, Blackadder, Vox Machina, BBC Ghosts, Doctor Who, The Sandman, DARK, House MD, Game of Thrones, Puss in Boots, Paddington, anything about Tolkien and his works but also other stuff such as Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia, Attack on Titan, books by Dostoevsky, some musicals (especially poto).. so if anyone wants to ramble about these things (or other things), I'm always up if anyone would want to chat about literally anything, or vent, or something else entirely.
