DOTTORE ON THE FAVORITE HARBINGERS LIST ITS A WIN FOR DOTTORE LOVERS LETS GO
- top % dottore lover curse anon
dottore on the favorite harbinger list in the same way you cant look away from a car crash. i love him so much and i need him put into an olive press. he needs to be examined under a microscope. have i privately written [checks notes] over 8k words about him, going into unnecessary depth into about various segments and the basics of his lab and how it functions? yeah. but i'm a star detective and he's the criminal always just barely evading capture, you know? maybe i'm letting him get away. you can't prove anything.

I don't need to be a superman
As long as you will always be my biggest fan…

North Carolina || March 1989
“I’m sorry that I’ll miss you in L.A., but I’m really glad you’re going out there. for the rehearsals. Especially since you won’t be making it to Europe.”
Jenny Fraser Murray sighed into the phone. “I’m torn, Claire. On the one hand I’ll be so happy to have a few days away from the kids – Ian’s mom is a godsend. But on the other hand I don’t want to be away from them for even a minute.”
“Ian will be happy to have you to himself, though.”
Claire heard Jenny smile through the phone. “He said it will be like old times. When we were dating, and we’d sneak off behind the amps to make out before a gig.” She paused. “Something you and my brother probably do all the time now.”
Claire smiled. “When we’re together, yeah.”
“I was really surprised when Jamie told me you weren’t going out to L.A. Is this the longest you’ve been apart?”
“Yeah.” Claire twirled the long telephone cord around her wrist. “I’m not going to lie, Jenny, it’s been incredibly hard to be away from him for so long. But at the same time, it’s been really helpful.”
“How so?”
“Just…it gets intense with him. And as much as I love him, and as much as I know he loves me, we both needed the time to breathe.”
“I hear you. So what have you been up to this week?”
Claire leaned back in her chair. “There’s a clinic in town – I got in touch with them right after we moved in, and I’ve been going in every day to volunteer. Just a few hours, helping out with some of the walk-in patients. Cuts, burns, broken bones – lighter stuff.”
“Sorry. One sec.” Jenny’s voice was muffled over the phone, but Claire could still understand the words Maggie and share and your brother. Clearly the Murray kids were giving their mom a run for her money today.
“That sounds like fun, Claire. Or your idea of fun, anyway.”
“It feels so good to be a doctor again, Jenny. It’s a far cry from surgery, but – ”
“But it’s something. Something you’re good at, that you enjoy. And it’s something that’s all yours.”
“Exactly. When we get back from Europe, I want to do something more permanent at the clinic. I spoke to the woman who runs it – they’re definitely open to it. I told them everything about my past, and my license – they’re willing to work with me.”
“That’s awesome.” The line clicked. “Ah – Claire, I’ve been waiting for Ian all morning. This is probably him. I’ll call you later, OK?”
“OK. Say hello to him and the kids for me. Talk you soon.”
“Take care of yourself, sister.”
Jenny hung up.
Claire glowed a bit. Glanced up at the clock on the wall, and crossed the kitchen to make some tea.
Ten minutes later, snug on the couch that was one of the only pieces of furniture Jamie had shipped from his old house in LA, Claire dialed a 212 number on the touch-tone phone, set the receiver on the arm of the couch, and pressed the speakerphone button.
“Dr. Germain’s office. Jeanne speaking.”
“Hi Jeanne – it’s Claire.”
“Hello, Claire! Right on time, as always. I’ll transfer you over.”
A few clicks on the line, and then –
“Good afternoon, Claire!” Raymond’s voice boomed through the telephone. “Did you make it to the clinic after we spoke this morning?”
“I did!” She sipped her tea, tucking bare feet under her folded legs. “Three hours have never flown by so fast.”
“That’s wonderful. Are you still open to what I suggested in our session this morning?”
“I am. He’s not on yet, is he?”
This was the second week that Jamie, Claire, and Raymond had held their daily sessions – via telephone while Claire was home in North Carolina, Jamie was with the band in Los Angeles, and Raymond at his office in New York. Raymond had recommended they start meeting during Jamie and Claire’s time away from each other – and to help them all get comfortable working together before the Europe tour kicked off in a few weeks.
Speaking over the telephone was not as ideal as being in person – but it helped them all get into the new routine. Raymond met individually with Jamie and Claire each morning, followed by a group session in the afternoon. Claire and Jamie spoke with each other outside of their time with Raymond, of course – Claire called Jamie’s hotel room as his wake up call every morning, he spoke with her before bed every night – but the conversations with Raymond were different. Focusing on topics that were deeper than Jamie telling Claire about rehearsals or meetings with the label, and Claire telling Jamie about a patient’s antics at the clinic or how she had finally gotten around to staining the bedside table they’d picked up at a garage sale.
Raymond had approached working together in a very pragmatic way. He struck a balance between getting to know one another and probing deeper on certain topics – after all, there were many things that Jamie and Claire still didn’t know about each other. But there was no timetable – Raymond insisted they work at their own pace, because the real work would happen once they were in Europe.
Claire and Jamie actually looked forward to their time with Raymond. It helped them focus on themselves, and on each other, in a new and refreshing way. It bridged the thousands of miles between them, during their time away from each other. And having that separation – together with the telephone, and not needing to look at each other to speak – was indeed a good opportunity to explore some topics.
“I’m here. Hi, Claire.”
“Jamie,” she smiled. “Where are you?”
“I’m at the label’s office. Colum dragged me here to meet with the suits. I said yes, as long as I could get lunch delivered and an office for an hour. So excuse me if you hear some chewing.”
“What’s for lunch?” Raymond’s voice crackled through the line.
“In-N-Out. My favorite, a double double with a chocolate shake. Claire, the more I’m here, the more I don’t miss being in L.A. But this…this I miss.”
“Well, as your doctor,” she teased, “I’m also grateful for your arteries that we don’t eat that kind of food at home.”
Jamie snorted. “So what did you do at the clinic today?”
“Splinted a broken thumb and stitched up a gash on a little boy’s head.”
“You sound like you’re smiling. I love that it makes you happy, but I’ll never understand why.”
“If I may,” Raymond interjected, “there’s a little more to it than making Claire happy. She and I explored that this morning.”
“Yeah.” Claire sipped her tea. “You’re right, Jamie – it does make me happy. It makes me happy because I enjoy doing it. But more than that, it gives me a sense of purpose. I’m helping people, I’m making a difference.”
“And?” Raymond prodded gently.
Claire pursed her lips. “And, it’s something that’s only mine.”
The line was silent for a long moment.
“Jamie?” she asked gently.
“You mean, something that’s separate from our life together, Claire?”
“Jamie,” Raymond responded, “if you’re thinking that this is something meant to replace you, or any aspect of your relationship…trust me when I say it’s not. When Claire and I spoke about this earlier today, she made it clear that that’s certainly not the case. It’s a way for her to build her own identity, as Dr. Claire Fraser. Because she’s left behind who Dr. Claire Beauchamp was – the surgeon and pill addict. And she’s also built an identity as Claire Fraser – wife to Jamie Fraser.”
“And I love being Claire Fraser, Jamie. I do. God, I wish I could hold your hand right now.” She sighed. “But I need to find out who Dr. Claire Fraser is. In my time at the clinic, I’ve started doing that. And I’m still tied to you. I wear your letter and your ring on my hand, and your name on my driver’s license and my heart. This is…just…more than all of that. There’s room for more.”
Still Jamie remained silent. Claire’s heart began to race.
But Raymond let the silence stretch.
“Jamie…” he finally interjected after a while. “Do you want Claire to keep exploring this side of who she is? Who she could be?”
“Of course,” Jamie replied instantly. “I want nothing more than for Claire to be happy, and for her to be who she’s meant to be. She’s meant to be a doctor. She’s known that since she was a little girl, and that’s so awesome she knows that about herself. I still don’t know who I want to be.” He paused, chewing. “And I know that she’s also meant to be with me, to be my wife. That’s another part of who she is. Am I right, Claire? I’m not off base?”
“You’re right,” she said softly.
“OK. So – I know that she’s a doctor, and she’s my wife. I also know that there’s a huge part of her, that she hasn’t been able to grow for the entire time we’ve known each other. We’ve focused so much on our…our love, and our sobriety, and my music. But now I see that that’s been at the expense of other things. Like, her being a doctor. And I honestly feel kind of terrible that while I’ve been recording new music and touring and performing and dealing with my own shit, that’s all taken over and hasn’t given her the space to explore and grow.”
“That’s one way to look at it, Jamie.” Raymond’s voice was so focused, and Claire pictured him scribbling in his notebook. “But you can’t beat yourself up over it. Does what Jamie said, resonate with you, Claire?”
She rested her head on her arms, folded on the arm of the couch. “It does and it doesn’t, Raymond. Yes, I stepped away from medicine while I was getting clean, and then it was more important to me to figure out how to be with Jamie, and then get used to life on the road, and focus on my marriage. So I decided to push medicine to the background. To support Jamie in the way he needed, the last tour. I made that choice. Jamie didn’t force it on me – I would have said something if it wasn’t what I wanted. And now, I’m choosing to grow this side of myself again.”
“I don’t ever want you to think that I don’t support anything you want to do, Claire,” Jamie said softly.
“I don’t ever even think of that, Jamie. And if I did, I’d tell you.”
“I hope you would. I wouldn’t ever want that to be a misunderstanding between us. I will support whatever you want to do, you know that, right?”
“That’s a good segue way,” Raymond spoke softly.
Claire cleared her throat. “I’m glad you’re with Colum today, Jamie, because I’d like you to ask him something for me, for the tour.”
“Okay…he already agreed to have a doctor on standby, you know. If we get pregnant.”
“I know. I love that you did that for us, Jamie. But this is something new. When we’re in Europe, I’d like to find a way to volunteer at local clinics wherever we are. To spend time doing that in every city. I know that it won’t always be possible, of course – but I want to give back, when I’m on the road. I don’t want to just stop when we leave North Carolina – I want to keep going. I want to keep exploring this side of myself. And I know that everywhere we go, there will be people who need my help.”
“I would love for you to do that, Claire.” She could see him grinning. “God I wish I could hold you right now, so tight. I want you to do this. This is fucking awesome.”
She swallowed. “I miss you so much, Jamie. I love you, and I love being with you, and I can’t wait to be with you on tour. But I need to have something consistent that’s my own. I can’t be with you all of the time. And this helps me to do that.”
“Fuck yeah. I want this for you. Think of how cool it will be.”
“Yeah!” she grinned ear to ear. “And even if I’m pregnant, I can still do it. For a time, anyway.”
“I’ll speak to Colum about it today. The label or the local promoters have got to have connections. And I don’t want there to be any publicity. I don’t want people to think you’re doing this for the PR.”
“And you’d be OK, Jamie, with Claire being away from you during the day?”
“Yeah, Doc. Um…being here in LA without her, I’m more comfortable saying that now.”
“Versus before you left?”
“Yeah. I – Claire, I love you so much, but we were spending too much time together. It was…suffocating.” He paused, clearly uncomfortable with silence on the line. “Baby, talk to me. Fuck, I hate that I can’t see you. Talk to me. Does that make sense to you, what I said?”
“Yeah.” She sighed. “I get it, Jamie. I love you so much. I want to be with you all the time, but it’s not healthy.”
“Raymond, does that make sense?” Jamie’s voice was rushed, almost panicked. “Am I making sense? That I want to be with Claire all the time but I know that’s not a good thing?”
“It does, Jamie, and you are. You didn’t mention this to me before – is this something you’re only realizing now, in this conversation?”
“Umm…yes and no. I mean, I miss Claire so much right now that it actually hurts. But it’s been so fucking great to be here with the band. Angus’ girlfriends are out of town, so we’ve been spending a lot of time together, just me and Ian and Angus. And Colum, too. It’s been so much fun. I’ve been so busy. Almost too busy to think of anything else.”
“So – those fears we talked about during my visit. That without Claire beside you, you’d somehow fall back into addiction. That you needed her as your anchor, your constant reminder to stay sober. Do you still feel that way?”
“A little bit. But it’s not a big fear front and center every moment of the day. I mean, it sucks to come back to an empty hotel room, and it’s hard for me to sleep alone, but I know that’s temporary. And, I know that on the Europe tour I’ll be very busy during the day, probably more than I was the last tour. So even if Claire was with me all those hours, it’s not like I could really do anything with her during that time. I’ll be busy, and it’s not fair to her to just sit around without me. She can use that time more productively. Like volunteering at local clinics.”
“Good. I know that it was really difficult for you to fly out there on your own, and I’m glad you called me before you left for the trip, too, because I think we’ll all agree that you staved off a panic attack by doing that. But now that you’re there, do you understand why I had recommended you spend some time apart?”
“Yeah. Claire, did you understand from the beginning?”
“I did. But that doesn’t matter, Jamie. What matters now is that you understand. And that we have a new plan for Europe.”
“I love you so fucking much, Claire. I need you, baby. I can’t wait to see you again.”
She blew a kiss through the phone.
Jamie coughed. “Um, Claire? I need to tell you something.”
“Are you all right?” Raymond cautiously asked, after about thirty seconds of silence on the line.
“Um…yeah. I got another tattoo.”
“O..kay…” Claire replied.
“Was this planned, or impulse?” Raymond asked gently.
“Um…I’ve been thinking about it for a while, and I knew what I wanted, but I decided a bit last minute.”
“I see.” Claire spoke slowly. “What is it, and where is it?”
“It’s the outline of the state of North Carolina. On my left arm.”
Claire couldn’t help but smile. “Where? In that space between the koi fish and your mom’s name?”
Raymond chuckled. “The two of you, I swear.”
Jamie laughed. Free. “Yeah, Claire. I don’t even want to know how you guessed that.”
“What can I say,” she laughed. “The perks of being a rock star’s personal physician.”

🎶 It's time for Paul's Premonitions! 🎶
Time for Paul to deliver some episode predictions for Hamster and Gretel, based off episode titles (titles we're not really supposed to know about BTW 😉). Let's begin!
12a. Last Train To Dullsville. I've got no idea what this could be about. Maybe it involves something boring, and/or train-related.
12b. Fred Of State. Some Fred-Centered episode.
13a Hamster Ex Machina. "Ex machina" is a plot device whereby a seemingly unsolvable problem in a story is suddenly or abruptly resolved by an unexpected and unlikely occurrence. The episode clearly has something to do with Hamster. So there's going to be a problem that the main characters can't seem to solve, and Hamster is the one who resolves it, completely by accident."
13b Awkwardly Ever After. "Hiromi learns the truth about Hamster, Gretel, and Kevin. I don't think her reaction will be very pretty (not that I'd blame her). Maybe the situation is resolved by the end of the episode, maybe not. Also, I've suspected, ever since reading the plot of "The Search for Super Guy" that Mrs. Knight would be a villain, though I had believed she would be the primary villain of that episode. I'll bet she'll be the big bad of this one. I do not think Kevin and Hiromi will get together by the end of this episode. I'm sure it's going to get dragged out a bit more.
14a Paging Doctor Potatini. Doctor Potatini is probably the villain's name. I'm not sure what Potatini means... Potatoe based villain??? I mean, we've got a lady who can talk to onions, why not potatoes?
14b Snazzy Pantzz Clothing-based villain?
15a Gentlemen Prefer Fronds. Plant-based villain?
15b Sock It To Me, Bailey "Sock it to me" is a phrase that means "show me what you've got." Are they going to give Bailey powers?
16a Gretel's Day Off. Gretel doesn't do any superhero work for a day. Maybe she's sick. Maybe she's just tired... Or, Picture this. Lauren is babysitting Gretel that day, and so the latter can't go and do any superhero work, otherwise Lauren might learn about Gretel's double life, which I really hope she does. Instead, it's down to Hamster to fight solo. (Maybe, assuming my prediction for the previous episode comes true, Bailey as well).
16b Everybody Loves Main Computer Technology-based villain
17a Gretel Keeps It Real "Keep it real" means to be authentic and true to yourself. Maybe Gretel is tested in some way that requires her to stick to who she is as a person.
17b Squeaky Friday "Freaky Friday" plots involve two characters switching bodies. It typically happens after said characters have smell sort of falling out. The term "squeaky" suggests that Hamster may be one of the characters. Hamster and Gretel won't get in a fight, will they?
18a A Tale Of Two Grannies Originally titled "Gran Slam," I see this episode involving Abuelita and another character's grandmother competing against eachother. I think they did something like this in Phineas and Ferb with Jeremy's grandmother and the Flynn-Fletchers grandma.
18b The Art Of Deception It's either an art-based villain who's very deceitful, or someone's on the brink of learning H&G's secret identity, and they have to cover their tracks.
19a Miss Direct Miss Direct, likely the bad guy's (excuse me, bad gal's) name. Maybe a villain who gives out terrible advice. lol. I've got nothing better.
19b Trading Faces "I have no real knowledge of the show ""Kim Possible,"" But while doing a search for the term ""trading faces,"" I discovered that this was an episode title in the aforementioned show (apparently, the same is true for Jimmy Neutron). Anyways, based on the wiki page for the Kim Possible episode, there's a villain who can take on the appearance of any character she wants and commits crimes under the victim's name. This suggests to me that the Impostor villain is coming back. My prediction, The Impostor takes on Gretel’s appearance and does bad things. Just like the Belle episode, this casts doubt on Gretel’s reputation."
20 Who's Afraid of Mordros the Annihilator The season finale. What I've been thinking for quite some time, is that H&G and the villains will need to team up to face the big bad. I feel like Lauren will be an integral part of the story.
Let me know if you've got ideas of your own!

@beansprout-tea I gotta look into The Sandstorm now because of you
The cold opens are "Blinking red light in the night sky. The future is changing, but it's hard to tell." and "The future is what you make of it. Just know that your supplies are limited." So from the very beginning of their connection, there has been talk about the future and drifting paths and all that
19A has the line "They also said that if you're not already inside with windows closed, door locked and eyes shut tight then your future will probably be very different." which omg is exactly what you were saying. Everything would be different if they never met, if the sandstorm never happened. Maybe "The Boy" Kevin is trying to repeat the action to reverse it
The financial news of 19A reminded me of Murals which is very DB
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kevin thinks the humming noise of the portal between the stations may be his own body, similar to the Boy humming along to the frequency of the radio tower
Instead of Old Woman Josie giving her ominous warning, Grandma Josephine just put out a bouquet of white lilies (which symbolize purity and rebirth)
The 19B financial news is about the same boy, with images of wings which just helps my Kevin with wings headcanon, thank you
And I leave you with this,
Tumblr media
Thanks for sifting through my disorganized findings

3, 17, and 19 for rosemary, for the character asks? ^^
yippee!! excuse to talk about HER
3: her name - although I wasn’t the one to choose it, that honor goes to @polyampotato! her design came next, since u had a starting point with her moms.
17: light! she’s very intentionally light coded, hence the bright colors she wears: lots of oranges and yellows, warm pinks like sunset 🌅 <- that’s rosemary baybeeeee…
19a: it’s hard to pick a favorite thing about her, but I’ll do my best. something I love about writing her, figuring her out, is getting to play with [gestures emphatically but nonsensically] how she is the way she is. I’m intimately familiar with writing her moms, so it’s fun to figure out what she gets from each of them, how their parenting has influenced how she approaches the world, etc etc etc. writing two(+) generations of a family is so so interesting and it really makes you consider and think while you’re writing.
19b: ANYWAY my least favorite thing - if you can call it that, I don’t really have anything I don’t like about writing her she is the supreme blorbo from my mind - is the balancing act of her dialogue, especially in DelirIAM (frey nel’s prologue) and the early parts of Frey Nel. she has a lisp/speech impediment, is incredibly enthusiastic and optimistic, and is also very very smart and capable. Making sure her dialogue reads how I hear it in my head AND making sure it’s believable and engaging to players… it feels like an impossible task sometimes. I think at the end of the day though, there are going to be people who don’t like how I write her, and that’s okay. they don’t have to play the game. 19b: ANYWAY my least favorite thing - if you can call it that, I don’t really have anything I don’t like about writing her she is the supreme blorbo from my mind - is the balancing act of her dialogue, especially in DelirIAM (frey nel’s prologue) and the early parts of Frey Nel. she has a lisp/speech impediment, is incredibly enthusiastic and optimistic, and is also very very smart and capable. due to welcome to night vale's resurgence in the tumblr world, i thought I'd reach out to anyone interested in listening to the show that you shouldn't be intimidated by the number of episodes. it's not a binge type of show, you can relax and take your time.
but if you're wondering what are the top tier episodes to look forward to, I'd say:
• ep 2 "Glow Cloud" - Starting out strong with the floating cat in the bathroom 🐱🐈‍⬛ its just a cat floating in the bathroom.
•ep 4 "PTA Meeting" - sets up a lot of lore nicely, like hey don't look at or even think about The Dog Park ok? It also features one of my favourite weather segments "Closer" by The Tiny.
•ep 14 "The Man In The Tan Jacket" - oooh man THE FANART that came out of this episode. just look up the titular character, the art slaps.
•ep 19A & 19B "The Sandstorm" - hohohoho you ain't ready for desert bluff 🙃 we are scared of desert bluff.
•ep 26 "Faceless Old Woman" - listen i love Cecil's voice but it's always a pleasure when a new voice is heard. and the Faceless Old Woman who's secretly living in your house is an icon.
•ep 30 "Dana" - DAAANAAAA!! absolutely love this storyline, go dana goooo!
•ep 33 "Cassette" - baby cecil ✨
•ep 49 "Old Oak Doors Part A" & "Part B" - imo this is the best place to stop if you'd like, because it concludes I'd say the first Big Arc. its a two part episode performed LIVE for an audience of fans, that had grown over the past 48 episodes. the episode resolves a lot of ongoing storylines, its a little fanservicey but its also just amazing. a great conclusion!
reblog and add some more of your favourite epa if you'd like!

The H-19's first flight was on November 10, 1949 and it entered operations in 1950. Over 1,000 of the helicopters were manufactured by Sikorsky for the United States. An additional 550 were manufactured by licensees of the helicopter including Westland Aircraft, the Société nationale des constructions aéronautiques du sud-est (SNCASE) in France and Mitsubishi in Japan.
The helicopter was widely exported, used by many other nations, including Portugal, Greece, Israel, Chile, South Africa, Denmark and Turkey.
In 1954 the Marines tested an idea to assist the rotors lift better in hot or high climates and if the helicopter was overloaded, by installing a rocket nozzle at the tip of each rotor blade with the fuel tank located in the center above the rotor blade hub. Enough fuel was provided for seven minutes of operation
The H-19 Chickasaw holds the distinction of being the US Army's first true transport helicopter and, as such, played an important role in the initial formulation of Army doctrine regarding air mobility and the battlefield employment of troop-carrying helicopters. The H-19 underwent live service tests in the hands of the 6th Transportation Company, during the Korean War beginning in 1951 as an unarmed transport helicopter. Undergoing tests such as medical evacuation, tactical control and front-line cargo support, the helicopter succeeded admirably in surpassing the capabilities of the H-5 Dragonfly which had been used throughout the war by the Army.

US H-19C in Korea. The U.S. Air Force ordered 50 H-19A’s for rescue duties in 1951. These aircraft were the primary rescue and medical evacuation helicopters for the USAF during the Korean War. The Air Force continued to use the H-19 through the 1960s, ultimately acquiring 270 of the H-19B model.[2]
France made aggressive use of helicopters in Algeria, both as troop transports and gunships, Piasecki/Vertol H-21 and Sud-built Sikorski H-34 helicopters rapidly displaced fixed-wing aircraft for the transport of paras and quick-reaction commando teams. In Indochina, a small number of Hiller H-23s and Sikorsky H-19s were available for casualty evacuation. In 1956, the French Air Force experimented with arming the H-19, then being superseded in service by the more capable Piasecki H-21 and Sikorsky H-34 helicopters. The H-19 was originally fitted with a 20-mm cannon, two rocket launchers, plus a 20-mm cannon, two 12.7-mm machine guns, and a 7.5-mm light machine gun firing from the cabin windows, but this load proved far too heavy, and even lightly armed H-19 gunships fitted with flexible machine guns for self-defense proved underpowered.
The H-19 was also used in the early days of the Vietnam War before being supplanted by the Sikorsky H-34 Choctaw, which was based on the H-19.

Chapter 20E: My Main Objective Is To Get You To Turn Your Mind Around
Tumblr media
You are in my system Got me right down to the wire You are in my system Help my equilibrium You are in my system…
-- “You Are In My System,” Robert Palmer (1983) [click here to listen]
North Carolina || February 1989
Raymond scribbled on a fresh sheet in his notebook. Absently running his hand through his hair. Clearly thinking.
“All right,” he said, after a while. “Before I walk you through my plan – I need to ask you something. Both of you.”
“Anything,” Claire replied instantly.
“I need you to commit to this. To therapy. To getting better and stronger, as individuals and as a couple.”
“Of course,” Jamie breathed.
“Yes,” Claire echoed.
Raymond tilted his head, just a bit. “What I am going to ask of you will be a significant commitment of time and energy and effort. Obviously we’ll need to modify things to account for travel, but you need to agree to prioritize this.”
“Yes, I agree.” Jamie reached across the table for Raymond’s notebook. He flipped to an empty page, wrote I commit to Raymond’s plan, signed his name and wrote the date. He pulled back to let Claire sign her pledge and name as well.
“You don’t know what you’re agreeing to yet,” Raymond said quietly.
Jamie met his skeptical gaze. “It doesn’t matter. You’re here for a reason. I – we – want your help. So whatever you recommend, I will commit to doing.”
“Me too,” Claire added, pushing the notebook back across the table.
Raymond cleared his throat. “Well then. On typical days I’d like to have three sessions. Half an hour with each of you individually, and then an hour with both of you together. With the individual sessions taking place before our group session.”
“We can definitely do that.” Claire gripped Jamie’s hand on top of the table. “What do you think?”
Jamie nodded. “Yes. We will make it work. This is important. And you’ll of course be available if we need more time?”
“Definitely. To the extent you want time with me, I will make myself available. Nobody else – not your bandmates, Colum, not anyone on the crew – will be a client. I will quite literally be on call for you, 24/7. Jamie, if you start to have a panic attack, I don’t care what time it is or where we are, if you’re comfortable with me being there then I want to be there to help you.”
“And to support Claire,” Jamie added. “I won’t put all of that burden on her. It’s not fair to her.”
Claire squeezed her husband’s hand.
Raymond pivoted to face Claire across the table. “And Claire – I’m here for you in equal measure. I know you’re still adjusting to your sobriety. And I doubt you’ve worked through all of the trauma associated with your ex-husband.”
Claire swallowed. Jamie pulled her a little closer.
“So – if it ever feels too much, and especially if you start feeling like you’re losing a sense of yourself, when you’re so far away from home, and so out of your element…I want you to come to me. I want you to talk it through with me. And when you’re ready, we can talk with Jamie about it.”
She nodded, grateful.
“This goes without saying, but I’ll need you to continue to be as honest and open with me as possible. Our therapy isn’t going to work, otherwise. I’ve had clients in the past who struggled to be honest, and it ended up undermining their recovery. Especially the addicts.”
Claire poured a fresh glass of water for Raymond. He drank it all at once. Clearly choosing his next words very carefully.
“I will never judge you for anything you do or say – about your past or present selves. But the more you share, the more I can help you. And nothing you say to me will ever make its way to anyone else. Not Colum, not Ian and Angus, certainly not the crew. Definitely not the press. I’m bound by my professional code of ethics. And of course I’d never put you in that position.”
“Thank you,” Jamie breathed. “I want so hard for the most important things in my life to stay private.”
“But,” Raymond added, “If something comes up in one of our individual sessions that I think would benefit being discussed in our group session, I hope you’ll give me your permission to raise it. You’re already very open with each other, which makes my job easier. But I’m sure that both of you have things you haven’t told the other person about. So, I want you to know that if I bring up something one of you told me, in the presence of the other person, it’s purely because I want to get to the heart of a topic. To prompt a fruitful discussion.”
“I’m all right with that. I want to get better.” Jamie looked at Claire. Raised their joined hands to his lips, for a kiss. “I want us to get better, and stronger.”
“All the more reason to be honest with each other, and with me. Because as my favorite medical school professor told us – honesty has room for secrets, but not for lies. Do you agree?”
Jamie and Claire nodded.
Raymond smiled kindly. “I am so glad to have this opportunity to help and support you, at such this pivotal moment in your lives.”
Jamie laughed. “Don’t thank us yet. See how you feel in August, when you’ve been on the road for four months and you’re in bumfuck nowhere in Scandinavia and the blackout curtains won’t work in the hotel so that you can sleep.”
Raymond flipped to a new sheet in his notebook, smiling. “I’m going to recommend you do something, Jamie. Earlier we were talking about how it’s good to get a little separation sometimes.”
Jamie nodded, curious.
“I’m suggesting that you go out to L.A. in two and a half weeks, but on your own, with Claire staying here. She may fly out, let’s say, the final week. Or maybe not at all. What would you think about that?”
Jamie pursed his lips. Jaw clenching.
“I know why you’re suggesting it, Raymond. But…”
Raymond let the moment stretch. Watching, with Claire, Jamie process his thoughts.
“I want to say, no, I’ll never agree to that. I can’t go that long without having Claire with me.” He dropped Claire’s hand and crossed his arms.
“Why?”
“Besides the fact that I’ll miss her every second we’re apart? Because when I’m on the road, and doing industry stuff, and playing gigs, I know I’m going to see the things that I’m addicted to.”
“And you’re afraid that you’ll slide right back into that life, if you’re by yourself?”
Jamie heaved a deep breath. Raymond watched Claire hold herself back from giving her husband even the gentlest, most reassuring touch.
“Do you think he’d do that, Claire?”
She shook her head. “No way.”
Jamie huffed skeptically. “You have too much faith in me.”
“You should have more faith in yourself!” She stood, hands on her hips. “You’re so much stronger than you give yourself credit for, Jamie. Why don’t you see that?”
He covered his face with his hands, breathing deeply. “I know what I can do, Claire, when I lose control.”
“So do I, Jamie. But I know what you can do when you keep control. I know what you can say no to. Do you not remember that party in New York? It was hard, so fucking hard, but even though people were drinking all around us, and that model was doing coke two feet away from you,you were fine!”
Raymond kept his voice steady. “Do you really believe that at the drop of a hat, you’d forget your vows to Claire, Jamie? That you’d forget your commitment to sobriety?”
He nodded.
“But that’s never happened.” Claire lay a calm hand on Jamie’s shoulder, squeezing. “And just because I won’t be right next to you, or in the hotel room waiting for you, doesn’t mean that you will forget your promises.”
She rubbed his shoulder, so gentle.
“And, Jamie – to be honest, I could use the time here. To get to know the people at the clinic a bit better, get to know what kind of support they need. Obviously I won’t be around when we’re in Europe, and maybe not even after that if I come home pregnant. But I want them to get to know me, and I want to get to know them. And the best way I can do that is by spending time there, on my own. I can’t do that if I’m in L.A.”
Jamie pulled back to look up at his wife. She smiled down at him, pushing his hair out of his eyes.
Raymond gave them a moment before speaking. “When I suggested you go to L.A. alone, Jamie, you mentioned how you would feel, but you didn’t mention how you thought Claire would feel. Does what she wants not matter to you?”
“Of course it matters to me.” Jamie sounded a bit hurt.
“But you didn’t use those words to say that,” Raymond replied. “And you didn’t ask her what she thought about my idea. Claire does have a life beyond being your wife. She’s trying to find her footing. And she needs more space to do that. Has she ever told you that?”
Jamie looked directly at his wife. “Not like that,” he said softly. “Am I being too selfish?”
“You can be, sometimes.” Claire took a deep breath. “I know we’re both still healing, and figuring out how we live our lives together when everything is so complicated. This life we have together – it’s so wonderful, but it’s also so overwhelming. I want a family with you, Jamie – but I also want my career back. I know it won’t look like it did before, and I don’t want it to. And not right this instant, maybe not for a few more years. We have time to talk about it and figure that out.” She smiled at him. “That’s why I’m so glad that Raymond is here. Because he’ll give us the space to talk about these things.”
“Creating that space helps. So does re-framing a situation.” Raymond shifted in his chair. “Consider this: instead of feeling loss that you’re not together when Jamie is in L.A., or being afraid of what the world is like without the other…think of it as, two or so weeks of building new memories to eventually share. Two weeks of anticipation, to the buildup to being back together.”
“I like that,” Jamie said quietly. “And I see what you’re doing, Raymond. Turning something that could be negative, into something positive.”
“He’s not wrong, Jamie.”
Jamie sighed. “I know, Claire. I need time for me, and you need time for you. But I’ll still call you every day. Probably annoy the hell out of you.”
She laughed. “Of course you will. I want you to.” She turned to Raymond. “Can we start our sessions with you while he’s in L.A.?”
“Of course. We can do it all over the phone. But we can start tomorrow, if you like.”
Claire turned back to her husband. “Raymond asked us to be honest, Jamie. So when you speak with him, be honest. And when we have our session together, be honest. This is why we need his help. If you feel like you’re cracking, you need to fucking tell us. Do you understand?”
Jamie nodded. “I love you,” he rasped.
“I love you,” she laughed. “It’s just a few weeks, Jamie. Then we’ll be in Europe. You’ll get sick of me.”
He laughed, and it transformed his face. “Not possible.” He turned to look at Raymond. “I think you’ve got your work cut out for you, Doc.”
Raymond closed his notebook. “Well, you two will certainly keep things interesting.”

I'm having so many Welcome to Night Vale thoughts right now... So... I just watched episodes 19A and 19B. And I feel like something's wrong with Kevin, probably.
So he described Desert Bluffs as a very nice place. The streets there were smooth and people were helping each other. Although it seemed a bit... capitalist to me. But after all, from Kevin's words, I can conclude that this is a good place to live. (I mean, people tend to idealize their hometowns and countries, I know, but still...)
So I started to wonder... Where did the blood on the walls, animal viscera, the teeth on the floor that were in the studio come from?? Are these not the effects of violence? Kevin didn't seem to be surprised by it, no, he even called Cecil's desk 'bloodless', so he knows about it.
It is possible that Desert Bluffs is worse than it seems. That Kevin is just overly optimistic. Maybe he isn't allowed to say bad and gruesome things on the radio? Maybe it's censorship or something? Hell, who knows. But that's not what alarmed me about him. It's the fact that Cecil described him as 'grotesque man' and 'a foul devil of a man' and he said he attacked him. This doesn't fit Kevin's behavior from episode 19B, right? And, what is also interesting, Kevin said that he saw Cecil in the vortex and that they hugged. Weird. Why are their descriptions mutually exclusive? Did Kevin lie, is he an unreliable character? Maybe the vortex didn't show them what really happened, maybe Cecil and Kevin saw and experienced different things? I mean, Cecil is also unreliable, but he seemed to tell the truth about nearly killing Kevin, because he showed some emotions.
I don't know, I have too many questions, but maybe, probably I'm just overanalysing this podcast and maybe I'm totally wrong and I probably forgot about many things. (You all are probably laughing at me right now, I know it /lh) I don't know, maybe later I'll have some answers.

PJO Headcanons (probably unpopular)
College:
1. Annabeth attended Harvard
2. Percy went to the New Rome University (come on you guys our boy is smart but with his record this is his best shot)
3. I can see Percy becoming either a teacher. social worker, or marine biologist
3a. the school is for demigods so he doesn't have the issue of dyslexia, he however has to study a lot, but if its marine biology he internally knows everything
3b. He is a diver for the swimming team because the speed thing would be cheating.
4. Frank and Percy are roommates during college
5.Frank and Hazel break up but get back together as adults.
6. Leo doesn't attend college but opens his own mechanic shop.
7. Leo invents demigod friendly tech
Post College:
8. Annabeth and Percy made long distance work, but Annabeth’s careers makes her jump from place to place, Percy follows her around.
9. Because Percy moves in with Annabeth, Frank is by himself for a while.
10. Will is still going through college during this time because med school
11. I believe Clarisse and Chris become close friends with Annabeth and Percy because there are not that many couples that stayed together and they double date or something
11a. Clarisse and Percy hate admitting that they are friends and will deny it at all cost.
11b. They are constantly making jabs at each other
12. Clarisse becomes a detective (think of Rosa from B99)
Family:
13. @thejudgingtrash has posts that are amazing regarding parenting/ jobs
14. Will and Nico adopt (I don’t see them using a surrogate but I guess thats a possibility)
15. Frank and Hazel have two kids, they were both only children, and Hazel loves her brother Nico and realized how “lonely” an only child is so they decided on two. A girl name Nicole, and a boy name Fai
16. Leo decided to become a foster parent being that he was in the system and he wanted to have a safe space.
17. Percy and Annabeth have two kids as well, (see 13), they are working parents and know that they want to have careers but also a family and three kids are a lot of work.
17a. They were all planned pregnancies. They had their first at 27
17b. I either see them having 2 boys, or a boy and a girl. 2 boys, one with curly black hair but that is identical to Percy in the way that Percy is to Poseidon, and the other boy is Annabeth’s mini me but with straight blonde hair and darker grey eyes. boy 1′s name is James after Sally’s dad, and boy 2′s name is Adler because Annabeth got to name him and she couldn't think of another name, and she didnt want to use Oliver because OJ, but also didnt want to use a name that had a tragic story. for my second scenario James remains but Adler becomes Allison (Ally), a girl with wavy black hair and grey eyes that looks a lot like Annabeth and Sally
17c. Percy is the stricter parent.
Camp(s):
18. New Athens isn't a thing, the camp expands but the camp is designed to be a summer camp. so no city
19. As it turns out Zeus had a bunch of kids that started coming out of the wood works when the gang was at college (turns out Percy’s wish worked in his favor being that he had broken the pack)
19a. Hades didn’t have any kids cause he was the only one that was true to his word
19b. Poseidon always jokes about more demigod children but they never appear (he truly loved Sally and wanted to make her a queen- thats canon)
20. Will and Nico once took in one of the Zeus’ kids for a while
21. They all visit during the summer, but aren't truly there as campers
22. On August 18 they celebrate Kronos defeat while also remembering the fallen heroes
23. The seven stories have become larger than life, and their personalities have been obstructed by people’s stories to the point where some of them are very far fetch (cough cough kinda like the fandom cough)
24. The old campers all tease each other with the far fetch stories

Note
Trigger warning for episode 19a of Amphibia, while in a very cartoony zombie way, it does involve some level of mind control and honestly isn’t an important episode, so you can skip it and go straight to 19b if need be.
And if it helps at all, I’d say by the time they get to season 2, I’d say Anne goes from an irresponsible brat to the most responsible person in the show. Season 1 is essentially her going from Chaotic Neutral to Chaotic Good/Neutral Good
Oh thanks a lot for the heads up!
Also I'm glad all these lessons and character development actually stick

Okay, this is an ending! Woohoo! Soooo many thanks to all you wonderful Thunderfam peeps who have written almost as much encouragement as I have fic ::hugs you all like crazy:: thank you for reading, commenting and putting up with my crazy during this fic (like this extremely strange posting schedule). Would you believe all these little bits add up to 22,000 words?! I never expected it to be this long (I’m blaming Alan - he was the one who wanted to go visit the mountain - it was supposed to finish just before that!) It went places I never expected. I had no idea when I started where the incident had actually occurred. I also now know a lot more about Washington State than I did before.
Extra thanks to @scribbles97 for reading this bit through and telling me it was okay when I thought it was too soppy. Yes, Nutty got soppy. Must be all the tears this fic has induced - even I got teary when Scotty cracked ::wails::
Anyways, I’ll stop babbling. Thank you being wonderful and I hope you enjoy this last bit.
-o-o-o-
It was John who was the practical one. Aware of his brothers’ state of mind, the suspected injuries hidden by Scott and Virgil, and the sun slowly being overtaken by cloud, urged him to gently suggest that perhaps it was time to go.
He had recorded the monument in fine detail. Enough to project a hologram from his phone. He had thoughts on that. Something that might help. But for the moment, his priority was getting his brothers safely home.
A quiet word with Eos and it wasn’t long before a roar echoed across the mountains and Thunderbird Two made her presence known. The great green cargo ship reassuringly familiar in the sea of emotion this place had invoked.
She came in to hover close, her forward hatch lowered. Of course, Virgil was the first to move towards her, an arched eyebrow in John’s direction. The half-smile John sent him in return was enough. Limping or not, his brother climbed the railing around the lookout and stepped onto his ‘bird. Gordon grabbed Alan, saying something that could not be heard over Two’s VTOL, and together they made their way on to the hatchway.
John stepped up beside Scott, who since releasing Alan, hadn’t looked up and stood staring at the monument.
“Time to go, big brother.”
Blue eyes looked over at him before darting in the direction of the hovering Two and then back to the grey flame.
“I miss her.” Barely heard.
“I know.” John reached out and put his hand on Scott’s shoulder. “C’mon, let’s go home.”
A blue inquiry was shot at him before the muscles under his hand relaxed just a little and Scott let his head drop in a single nod. Almost reluctantly, Scott made his way to Two where Alan offered him a hand to climb on board.
John took a last look at the plaque, his mother’s name and the flame forever frozen, reaching for the sky.
Two’s VTOL flickered in echo.
Green was his mother’s favourite colour.
He looked up and knew Virgil would be in his pilot seat by now, demanding control be returned to him. It wasn’t a guess, more a law of physics.
He let his fingers brush over stone.
A quiet, indrawn breath quickly let out again.
“Bye, Mom.”
The breeze overcame the heat of Two’s VTOL and curled its cold fingers in his hair.
He strode over to the hatchway and climbed on board. As the hatch drew him up into the warmth of Two’s belly, he caught sight of Mount Rainier, still massive, still silent, still there, until it was gone and all he could see was Two’s cockpit and all he could hear was her engines and his brothers.
Two minutes later they were out over the Pacific and heading home.
-o-o-o-
Virgil Tracy wore flannel. No matter the climate. No matter the temperature. He wore flannel. At least when he wasn’t wearing his uniform.
Well, almost any temperature. Apparently, John had spoken to Eos at length after their trip to Washington State. His purpose had been to explain the process of human grief. Her response was to heat the villa to thirty-five degrees centigrade to see if she could get Virgil to shed his flannel shirt.
What she hadn’t expected, nor Kayo and Grandma returning from the mainland unexpectedly, was how many other items of clothing might be shed.
Five Tracy boys in only their underwear as they desperately tried to cool down a hot house on an already hot and humid day, was not a spectacle either of them had expected to see.
John and Eos had a rather longer discussion after that little incident. Eos also made a point of hiding from Scott for the next month or so.
So yes, Virgil wore flannel unless his AI niece’s good intentions tried to cook him.
But what did change after Washington was the words.
Alan made a point of it. Not a big one, but a subtle one. No longer was the topic of their mother banned from conversation and Alan finally had a chance to get to know the woman behind the photos and the videos through his brothers’ memories.
First up he discovered that there was a reason why Virgil wore red plaid. Apparently, he’d had a blanket as a child, now long lost, but he associated it with their Mom and it gave him comfort.
That story appeared one day when Alan came across Virgil sitting out on the balcony. He had the shirt off, but it was laid across his lap. His grey t-shirt pale in the sunlight.
Alan sat down beside him and a rare moment of storytelling just happened. Alan did prod a little with questions, but Virgil appeared quite happy to tell him of the time six-year-old John went swimming in a lake and lost his shorts. Gordon had been just a baby, and Dad wasn’t there at the time, so it had been up to Scott and Virgil to fish their little brother out of the water and protect his modesty.
The fact Gordon’s third word after momomom and dadadadada was jajajajajah made the story all the more amusing.
Scott, too, offered some stories. He mentioned the awards their mother had won. Alan had known his mother was smart, after all her five sons had a decent set of brain cells themselves. But it was more than the awards. It was the stories about the ceremonies and how Virgil had cheered wildly into a dead silent auditorium. How every eye had turned to them, including those of their mother standing on the podium. Her smile had been brilliant.
Unfortunately, that had only encouraged Virgil, and their father had to quiet him down. But Scott remembered her proud smile.
Virgil had been right. There were many stories and his brothers offered them to him when they could and slowly the woman who was his mother grew in his mind into a person rather than just a figure head.
There were still bad days. Days where Virgil would be found shivering on the lounge or silent on the balcony. But the difference was that now the blanket appeared and was wrapped around him with words, reassurance and understanding. All the brothers would gather and they would talk.
About Mom.
About Dad.
About each other.
Eventually Virgil would end up snoring on the couch, usually half on top of one brother or another. And they would all crash there, all silent support...well, all except for Alan, apparently. They all claimed he talked in his sleep. He still wasn’t convinced Gordon hadn’t fabricated the recording he claimed to belong to Alan and his slumber years.
So, it got better. Not perfect, because life never is, but easier.
Some days the flannel comes off, some days it doesn’t. But ultimately, it didn’t matter.
And if Scott froze solid the first time John led them all out onto the cliff that overlooked the caldera to show them the permanent hologram he had installed there, it was to be expected.
If Virgil’s hands flew to his mouth to muffle his reaction, John chose to ignore it.
But the grey flame that now flickered above the volcanic rock said everything.
Their brother had installed a plaque, just like the one on the mountain in Washington, but the words were different.

“children of the spore” and “anne of the year” predictions
who else is hyped? cause i sure am!
episode 19a “children of the spore”
“a scary mushroom adventure!”
i’m pretty excited for this! the synopsis is really vague, so this could go a lot fo different ways. personally, i’m hoping for some sort of zombie type deal!
also, it it just me or does this strike yall as a sort of halloween episode? we’re literally nowhere near halloween, but i mean it could definitely have been designed as that before disney went and decided to air eveything in the span of a month.
episode 19b “anne of the year”
“anne wins the prestigious ‘frog of the year’ award and gets to plan her own party, but the frogs of wartwood may not be ready for a human-style bash”
yall, i’m extra hyped. i’m like 90% certain this episode will tie directly into "reunion”, so i’m definitely excited. it’s also really nice to see how wartwood has come to love anne, as far as giving her this award. it’s really sweet, and they’ve come a long way since “anne or beast”!
also, really weird specific hope that probably won’t happen: what if sasha and grime hear of the celebration and go see what it’s all about? and then see anne at the center of it and sasha freaks the fuck out cause “YOOOO WHAT ANNE?!?!?”. again, i know this most likely won’t happen, but it would be pretty interesting.
