in that one version of canon-like shifter!stan au where mabel is ALSO a shifter i keep thinking about how the bunker episode would go down, especially considering her personality type- and ESPECIALLY considering shifters are instinctively aware of other shifters even when in disguise. would there be a fight? would peace be an option? would mabel's secret- and likely stan's- be revealed?? god imagine if it goes down the same as canon with shifty getting iced and mabel has to go home thinking about the ramifications of that. imagine if it DOESNT and mabel and shifty make friends and they bring him to the shack and stan finds out he's an uncle in about the worst way possible [your long-lost twin brother locked a shapeshifter baby in a cage and did 'speriments on it, whoops! and you never found the poor thing!]

Hmmmmm. In canon esque Shifter Stan au where Mabel is also a shifter, it would go different but also fairly similar, for a few major reasons.

Firstly, while this is the twins first summer at gravity falls, they know their grunkle Stan fairly well. Because he's a very present figure in their life, as he beat up mabels spawner to take over as her mentor. That might actually be why it takes him so long to finish the portal, he's busy keeping an eye on Mabel while she grows.

So she knows her grunkle Stan is a shifter, and there's a high chance dipper knows she's one too, as while she wouldn't out Stan, Stan would tell her how he told his base and it worked out great for them! (Only partially a lie, as their fall out wasn't Shifter related.) So she very well could have told dipper, and his anxiety filled mind put it in a safe box in his brain. Might be why he's so paranoid, he's constantly worried mabel might get kidnapped.

So the summer goes mostly the same, with Mabel maybe being a bit more onto the fact that maybe grunkle Stan isn't Stanford the author (as she might know he's a Shifter, but he's not sharing the fact that he's currently taking his bases place), and there being a few differences since Stan's very literally taken Fords place here.

Then the bunker happens, and Mabel might not know what she looks like, but she knows what it feels like to see another shifter. Shifty does not, but he knows Mabel is one and it's blowing his mind. He needs to get her out of here, to talk to her and learn and! And!

And so Mabel makes a new friend! The shapeshifter that almost killed her brother and definitely outed her as a shifter if they didn't already know! Because shiftys lived in a hole his whole life and did not realize he shouldn't blurt that fact out in front of everyone! So they take him home, maybe or maybe not with added drama, where he immensely clocks Stan as a fake, but Stan's faster in BSing his way through life and gets shifty into a private conversation before he outs Stan to the twins. Or maybe doesn't, and canon goes even further off the rails as he admits to the portal and the real Ford being lost.

Stan def admits to Ford knowing about shifters, but maybe didn't realize shifty was the same species? Canon goes even further afield as Ford is hit with the 'why did you treat shifty like that when you knew shifters were people like your brother' and Ford goes 'what on earth are you talking about? My brothers not a shapeshifter?' And then Stan and him have an even more emotional conversation about how Stan for sure told Ford and Ford did not realize he was being honest.

my brother killed himself- the one i actually like somewhat (ryan) & not the nazi shithead who tried to choke me to death this time last year (julian). i am the youngest of 3.

hes kinda a complicated guy, similar to how they treat me i only ever get to hear about him through other family members making fun of him for his every issue - so much of what i know is negative.

most of my opinion of ryan for the past 4 years maybe has been sortof admiring- atleast in comparison to my other family members- hes the only one who actually shielded me from julians constant phisical abuse, & the only one with the sense to realize that my entire family is a bunch of miserable abusive leaching assholes who are best off associated with as little as possible. i may think hes a racist & a bit of an idiot but i still really respect him as the only person who doesnt treat me like eaither a rabid dog or a walking suicide note

its a bit offputting to me honestly- the last time i had a close relationship with him was when he was a terminally online barely legal teenager- boyblogging about my little pony & fat bitches on the internet & trying to escape a deeply abusive home life dispite having no money & no education. primary difference being with me being trans & disabled & my abuse more overt & overarching i dont really get the luxury of having any kind of positive feelings about anyone in my family. i wouldve been dead years ago if i hadnt learned how to deal w/ myself & my emotions entirely independantly. its a recursive cycle i suppose

he called a few family members shitfaced drunk the day of- was made fun of them by every one, a few hours later was supposed to go to work. drove onto an empty road in his lexis at night. driving straight before making an entirely unessasary turn to veer off the road- flipping his car multiple times over. dieing on impact- hes gotten in many accidents before- & had flipped that car & gotten hurt previously & likely rendered much of its safety features unusable.

in all likelyhood probably alot about money- a certain degree of reckless drinking & petty theft charges & unpayably expensive car repairs & your problems stop really being fixable- needing a level of both financial & mental health intervention that nobody is wiling/capable of providing to someone they veiw as a drunk.

i dont have many thoughts on this topic that i feel are meaningful- im someone primarily apathetic & only incedentally empathetic- i only show proper emotions in maybe small 20 minute intervals once in a blue moon

my primary source of emotion has just been how angry my entire family seems to be at me specifically- a unanimous & explicit & constant reminder that they would really really really rather i kill myself then them have to ever look at me or deal with my stupid inability to do seemingly easy tasks like work & schooling. i guess theyll never really get any self awareness. in many ways i dont respect any of them- even ignoring everything else theyve ever done thats just kindof a ghoulish & overly cruel thing to say- but you cant tharapyspeak your way out of being atleast a little emotional about your entire family wanting you dead

my collected thoughts on the magic system of harry potter and what I would change to make it better.

i think that the harry potter magic system sucks!!

i mean, im sure this isnt a hot take but like...how is it that students at hogwarts school of WITCHCRAFT and WIZARDRY graduate knowing how to use maybe a handfull of spells in combat? and they're the same spells that all the aurors and all the older members of the order and all the death eaters and even voldemort use?

and im especially talking about how weak it makes people who are supposed to be really powerful and dangerous seem. including the titular character Harry Potter himself. Harry uses spells in a unique way, dont get me wrong, but to me its all just so boring.

and im not saying it doesnt have to work like other fantasy stories, but if the main mechanism behind magic in harry potter is that you are either born with it or not, you dont need a wand but its exponentially more challenging without one (unless you have a unique skillset or education), intention matters, and there are spells that can grant magical abilities to objects. there is so much more possibility than just expelliarmus and expecto patronum. There has to be, or else why tf would hogwarts take 7 years of schooling to graduate from?

so here are some of my headcanons:

families have bloodline abilities

so, in the case of wizarding britan, there are families that want to stay pure such as the sacred 28 (or is it 27 i cant remember), and pure as in their blood and bloodline must stay pure (going so far as to marry your cousins, e.g. Orion and Walburga Black). If this is the case, and they wan't to preserve their magical bloodline so bad, they'd have to have something more than just "magic" to preserve.

I feel like its almost there in canon but falls short of being fully realized. I think of it kinda like how it works in naruto. Theres those who have a bloodline ability and then those that dont. You dont have to have one to be powerful, if you have one it dosent mean you will be powerful automatically.

The black family seems to carry the gene for metamorphmagus, but i wouldnt consder this a bloodline ability and think of it more like a random mutation passed on to teddy, which could occur in any magical person, (theres also the possibility that this was a more common ability in the black family but because of the lack of genetic diversity and inbreeding it was lost until Andromeda had Remadora with Ted, who was not pureblood. I think abilities have to do with the energy of magic that is either created or inherited, not so much genetics. Therefore, families dont pass on the same exact ability but something that is novel or slightly different from person to person.

The Lupins, for example, could be Beast Speakers. Maybe, a long time ago in the Lupin familiy, they kept wolves or something (explaining the surname which would have had something to do with occupation) and they learned from them how to speak with animals?Lyall, who canonically worked in the Department for the Control and Regulation of Dark Creatures, can speak to dark creatures, even werewolves who are transformed. Remus can speak to domesticated animals like cats and dogs, fancy mice, toads, etc. Remus is like Hogwarts' unofficial vet tech, and if you like atyd Remus, this fits in nicely as he specialized in Care of Magical Creatures.

The Potters, canonically, are linked to the Peverell family. The invisibility cloak has been passed down through generations and is still being passed down to Harry's children. I think a common headcanon, and one that i truly love, is that they use Death Magic. But, thats assuming the potters are the exact same family as the Peverells, which they are not. I think, in going along with the Peverell brothers creating the deathly hallows (using advanced death magic), the potters have a Sorcerer's Craft ability. What was the Potter family's source of new money? Fleamont's invention, Sleekeazey's. I know its a "potion", but what if its just like...coconut oil imbued with magical enchantments that make your hair perfect. James could have played a major hand in the creation of the Marauder's Map, an Extremely powerful magical object made to do the impossible task of mapping Hogwarts. And he did this in school. at like 14-15. Harry doesn't do anything that has to do with magic item creation, that I can remember (i haven't read the books in years), however he also had no connection to his family and likely wouldn't be able to learn without another Potter teaching him. BUT! Harry Potter is the master of death, meaning he can use all 3 of the deathly hallows without being corrupted, maybe this could be a side effect of how his Sorcerer's Craft manifests itself.

side tangent, but the reason I think this is an ability even though others have been known to make magical objects, is because the potters are able to do it very creatively, and early on in their lives. They are involved in every aspect of item creation, and they can enchant things in a way no other wizard could replicate, meaning their objects could not be mass produced without their explicit involvement. Maybe Sleekeasy's stops working so well once Fleamont dies, hence why Hermione says its too much hassle to use every day.

The Blacks, you might think, would be something to do with offensive, powerful, and deadly magic. While, yes, this is something that some members of the black family are gifted in, it is not their bloodline ability. I think that the Blacks are Seers. It's no coincidence their families long standing tradition of astrological names are prophetical for their lives. Walburga Black, for example, has the power of Augery. She asks the universe questions and receives omens as answers. She saw a black dog when asking the universe to tell her about her newborn son, hence the name Sirius. For Regulus, well, she saw water. Not knowing what to make of it, she refused to let Regulus near it for his entire childhood. Regulus, as an empath, has the ability of psychometry. The ability to gain information from an object by touching it, including humans ( he cant read minds, but can tell what someone has experienced in their life). This comes in great handiness when he goes to destroy the locket. Sirius, I believe, would have a mastery over tarot cards or oracle cards. He can glean deadly accurate readings, and has a keen ability to interpret meanings unknown to even the most practiced tarot readers. He has a special deck, one that his uncle Alphard gave to him when he found out Sirius could read tarot from Walburga (who, at the time, was very pleased with her Heir's ability). This comes with an emotional expense to Sirius, though, and at times, gives him answers he doesnt want to hear. The girls loved it though, and asked him to teach them. He tried but couldn't explain how he did it, since it's innate to his bloodline. Of course, you could obviously imagine this adding to the piles of angst surrounding the war, as Sirius had to have seen signs that his loved ones would die, making him think he could outsmart fate by changing the secret keeper...

I think this is getting too long, but I'm already thinking about part 2 because I have alot of thoughts about this...especially things that anyone could learn not just inheritied abilities.

it takes Tom a minor argument with his brother to realize he’s completely head over heels for you, but once he does he’s always trying to impress you

overworks himself in gym class to try to impress you, but his face is all red and he’s so sweaty when he tries to talk to you afterwards.

you see him defending Bill from a few bullies and the next time you see him you tell him that was a really nice thing for him to do for his brother

“Oh! Yeah of course, I mean, Bill’s my brother— and my best friend— how could I not?”

he’s so fidgety talking to you, and after Bill teases him for not being his usual confident self around you

even his bodyguard knows about you because he talks about you so much

when you guys are in class together he literally watches you the whole time

one time, he asked you for a pencil and you forgot to ask for it back and he’s treasured it ever since

Bill subtly trips him in front of you to tease Tom and then calls Tom a fumble foot when talking to you later on

he’s always “accidentally” bumping into you between classes but it’s so obvious it wasn’t accidental at all

learns your schedule so that he can awkwardly wave at you in the halls

during your last period of class, one that you share with Tom, a teacher asks if anyone will volunteer to sort some papers for her. you volunteer, and Tom decides that this is his time.

The final bell of the day rings and all the kids shuffle out. The teacher thanks you again for your help and disappears out of the room too. Tom and Bill are leaving the school together when Tom stops his brother and their bodyguard.

“Oh, I think I forgot my notebook in class,” He says nervously, “I’ll go grab that real quick,”

Bill shoots him a speculative look but after a beat, just nods in agreement.

Tom begins to walk back towards the school doors and yells back: “Pull the limo back around for me, okay?”

As Tom’s footsteps echo through the empty hallways, he finds himself more and more anxious. He tongues at the metal ring that decorates his bottom lip and clears his throat, going over his “lines”. Mouthing the words that he’s sure he’s going to say to you. He’s never been one to be nervous around girls, but for some reason you flip that switch in his brain. He makes it to the doorway of the classroom and peaks in. He sees you there, and his heart is in his throat. Letting out one last deep breath, he nods to himself.

He knocks on the door frame. You turn around, a stack of papers in your hand, and smile. “Oh, hey stranger.” She says warmly, “Forget something?”

He clears his throat and steps into the room, twiddling his thumbs. “No, actually. I was hoping I could talk to you.” Tom finally looks up at you and your eyes meet for a moment.

You set down the stack of papers and lean your hip on a desk, “Sure, what’s up?”

He sighs and walks a bit closer to you. “So.. um…” Hesitation laces his voice, his unsureness now bubbling up. But he looks at you again, and he’s sure he has to do this. “I’ve had this… feeling.. about you for quite some time,” Chewing on his bottom lip, he tries to figure out how to articulate this unfamiliar feeling of, well, adoration.

He winces and continues to speak, “I just think that you’re so wonderful, it’s not just your beauty, but- but your kindness and um…” He clears his throat and looks at you nervously. Your eyes are slightly wide and you slowly nod your head.

“I really like you.” He finally says. It feels like a great weight has been lifted off of him by this admission, and now all he can worry about is whether or not you reciprocate.

You sigh and let out an exasperated chuckle, “Really?” You ask. It seems to good to be true. A rockstar really likes you? I mean he’s been particularly friendly to you so far but this is… a touch more than friendly.

He nods his head nervously, thinking the worst from your reaction. “It’s okay if you don’t feel the same,” He chokes out, rocking back and forth from his heels to his toes.

“I do.” You say softly. His face lights up and he looks at you with full eyes, “You do?” With a small smile you nod. He beams and places his hands on your shoulders, shaking you by them, “You do!” Excitement paints his face and you can’t help but chuckle in return.

You two stand there for a moment, just giggling. Suddenly, he gasps and looks at the doorway, “The limo!” He says nervously, “They’re waiting on me!”

He turns back to you and leans down to kiss your cheek, “See ya tomorrow!” He shouts back as he makes a break for the limousine.

When he finally slams the door to long black vehicle, Bill’s looking at him with an unimpressed expression. Tom’s cheeks are flushed and he’s out of breath.

“Did she say yes?” Bill asks nonchalantly, crossing his arms.

A moment of silence hangs between them before Tom smiles wide, “She said yes.” Bill’s unimpressed expression breaks and he smiles.

“Dude I’m so proud of you!” Bill says excitedly as he raises his hand up for a high-five. Tom slaps his hand against Bill’s and squeals like a school girl.

“And I kissed her cheek!” Tom gushes.

Bill chuckles and shakes his head, “Good for you, Tomi.”

Tom hadn’t been this happy in a while, he couldn’t be any more glad that he had finally confessed to his favorite girl.

Thinking about the papyrus that makes the puzzles in nightmares castle

Also yes he IS the papyrus of something new, though from another timeline

Like he was there in like..the early days when they castle was done but not like, fully.

So like he must know nightmare VERY well, better then he knows his own brother at this point. Though he doesn't even know where his brother is, but from what he was told he may be dead?

Anyways, i think it'd be a relationship akin to whatever it is with flowey and papyrus. Papyrus still believes nightmare can be a good person.

Also i think nightmare would've tried the "hurting them as discipline" method once, when he was really angry. Only to be surprised that the papyrus got out his hold and went and hid in the library. Yeah he didn't realize that the occasional sparring and just watching him fight was enough for papyrus to get a rough idea of what to do, along with knowing him enough personally to know nightmare hates hurting his books and avoids it as much as he can.

He is still very much papyrus, but he is a little closer to being like HT papyrus mentally.

Also i think he'd wear other clothing, actual armor instead of his battle body. Maybe something like a cloak too, thats like hanging off the side of his shoulder (that has a name, no idea what it is, just bear with me because i dont know how this shit works ✊️)

He's technically a guard in title, though he doesn't really do much guarding. Atleast he fulfilled his wish of being a royal guard?

He probably also learned proper etiquette, dancing and swordfighting. He doesn't really need it he just saw nightmare doing it and he thought if was cool, and well, nightmare doesnt have much to do after all of his friends dying- so he teached papyrus

He also knows piano! He is mostly self taught, and a little of when undyne taught him the basics. He learned because he missed undyne 😔

Actually, i think he'd pick up hobbies or have items to remind him of his friends. Snagging a random sanses hoodie because it looked like his brothers (and leaving some g and an apology note after.), learning piano(undyne), making his own hot chocolate recipe(grillby), ACTUALLY learning how to cook(undyne again), learning how to play the trombone(sans)

Also, just imagining nightmare wanting to fuck with killer so while killer is in the office he calls the papyrus over (and says to find his battle body) without telling killer. And just...killer being met with a papyrus that looks so eerily close to his. (I think every papyrus's body is slightly different, you dont notice it unless you'd be his brother or something)

Nightmare got scolded by papyrus afterwards but he wasn't really listening

Also papyrus spars with others frequently :3, he got permission to go out to AUs and spar with the people there (its mostly papyruses, undynes and alphyses but sometimes others too!) And he's done it for a long time aswell, he got really good at it! And he got even BETTER control of his magic then he already had

If you were to ever fight this papyrus it'd be one hell of a challenge for a shit ton of people, so thats fun

im always going to be so glad that Rollo didnt get a 'redemption' scene or even really change his ideals or goals at the end of GloMas. Even though thats likely something a lot of people might want (hell, Ive even seen some people say his lack of change was 'bad writing'), its just not realistic. Development doesnt happen instantaneously, especially not when someone doesnt even WANT to change in the first place.

While the confrontation with Idia, Malleus, and Azul might have sparked some sort of realization in him, this is a matter of changing something he has thought for YEARS. We dont know how old he was was his brother died, but it was obviously young. This is a hatred hes let fester ever since then, and its presumably only grown stronger with time. His grudge against magic and magic users is embedded in him, and it takes a LOT to actually change that sort of thing.

And, as I said before, Rollo doesn't want to change. He says it flat-out after hes defeated - his defeat might have been a roadblock, but hes still going to keep trying to eradicate magic (obviously not an exact quote, but thats basically the meaning in what he did say). Theres no sudden realization of 'maybe im wrong' or 'maybe I should change my ways', because those sorts of sudden developments are not accurate to his character.

Rollo as a whole is incredibly set in his ways, even down to the exact meal he eats for lunch every day of the year and the type of stationary he uses. He is all about careful self control and routine, not to mention the fact that he is likely INCREDIBLY stubborn. He just isnt the type to make hugely impactful changes to himself at the drop of the hat.

I do think its possible for him to eventually learn to let go of his hatred in the future, but that would also require him to actually open up to people and allow himself to face this head-on rather than falling back on habits - something that he is very averse to and in itself will take a lot of development on his end in order to happen.

Such a major change is something you work on over the span of months to YEARS, not a single night. Rollo not doing a 180 change isnt bad writing, its realistic.

so first, i have an older brother, and i have made jokes about going out with his friends, and the only times hes gotten properly pissed about it was when the friend was a bad dude, like bad to women. so the idea that lando even mentioning yn in a romantic context and max blowing up makes me think.... maybe max knows somethings yn doesnt.

i mean yeah, max definitely knows more about lando y/n does, but it could also just be that the idea of them together feels a bit weird to him. it’s his best friend and his little sister… that’s just uncomfortable. in max’s eyes, if lando ever wronged her, he could never forgive him. and if they broke up, he would be stuck in a very awkward position. he’s not exactly an overprotective brother, but at the end of the day, no one will ever really be truly good enough for his lil sis.

This is kind of an joke post (KIND OF) so dont take it to seriously. Its just my brain comming up with ridiculous ideas, so feel free to ignore me.

So you know, even long before the latest released chapter I always wondered as a dfo fan why afo married inko, because even if you consider some of the more popular conspiracy theories like the inko shimura or quirk marriage theory, afo NEVER had to MARRY her in the end. So why did he do it?

And after the latest chapter I think I finally got my answer: Dude lowkey hadnt realized that he had fallen in love. 🤣

Okay hear me out. The latest chapter confirmed that afo has no context or grasp what (selfless) love is, because he never experienced it himself. No parents, other guardians or friends to show him what love is or people in generell who showed and teached him kindness. Only a little weakly brother he felt a connection with he didnt fully understand and refused to let go since he was the only "possession" he had. Afo is unable to see the difference between (selfless) love and possession. Its not really something you can blame him for, thanks to the horrible enviroment he had to grow up in. To him possessing something means "love". He wants everyone to live for his sake just like yoichi. In other words he wants to feel loved and wants to love. But since he doesnt understand the difference between love and possession it seems so fucked up to us while for him it is normal.

Now back to inko. I have no idea how they could have meet. Maybe afo had his reasons to lay his eyes on her or maybe it was just a simple coincidence. No matter what it was, I like to believe that inko was not only the first person who showed afo kindness and support without the wish to gain something from him in return (like most of his followers do), but also was the first person who showed him what love (NOT possession) actually feels like.

It could be something incredible simple like touching his hand or his cheek in a caring/loving way and since nobody ever did that (if we consider his jealous reaction when he sees kudou and yoichi "holding hands" which I bet the brothers never did even as children) he would be so confused and wondering why that felt so nice and wants more of it. So he starts to obsess over her, because he enjoyed how she made him feel good (while still not getting what it actually is because he is just a mess 😅). They start to spend more time together while afo tries to find out what kind of miracle she is, what that strange feeling is when he is close to her, why his stomach feels funny and why he starts babbling nonsense every time she tries to hold smalltalk with him. 😆😆😆

So then imagine at one point afo does something kind to her in return (because he is slowly learning from her) and inko gives him a little kiss on the cheek and he is all like: WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPEND??? WHAT DID SHE DO??? WHAT WAS THAT??? IS THAT SOMETHING PEOPLE DO??? WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO NOW??? AND WHY DID THAT FEEL SO GOOD??? SHOULD I SAY THANK YOU??? WHY DO I WANT MORE OF IT??? I WASNT PREPARED FOR SOMETHING LIKE THAT!!!End result: brain.exe stopped working.

Afterwards he visits dr garaki and rants about all this strange feelings he has recently and believes he is actually sick and garaki is like: dude.... youre just in love and afo reacts like: OOOHHHHH............ and now? So after garaki explains to him VERY cautious that normally two people who are in love with each other would start to live together, marry, get children and always be there for each other afo IMMEDIATELY responses with: I WANT THAT!!! and runs back to inko to propose to her "You will marry me!" (No nos and no buts!)

Cause haha, both you guys had similar plans of taking each other down and now that doesn't have to happen! Dream is a good ally! Sapnap can convince him, they can be united! And sapnap doesn't have to choose! Doesn't have to lead one of them to be dead....

And like....admitting you're a spy is like *rough*. And people don't take that too kindly....and it feels like betrayal to other people too....so um....sapnap is gonna have it rough there

I can only imagine as well Sapnap coming to the realization that all of them being so nice and kind to him was part of the plan to take down Dream....that's gonna cause a whole other mess of inner turmoil for him and not knowing if there really was any kind of bond or if he was just being used....

in terms of the vagueness of raph's specific sexual abuse, i think ive been a bit wishy washy on how i talk about it (as ive... changed my mind on the specifics as ive gotten into writing more bits, canon and drafts and whatever be damned, i think ive pieced it together)

lemme like write out the timeline for how i think it all went down

uh. warnings for... csa. obviously.

so to kind of cement it out, raph started being sexually abused by his father at 8 years old. he barely remembers it because his splintered personality shit started at 6, when his mother "died". im unsure on if raph is even the original personality. what makes more sense? that raph was being beaten by his father so he'd stop crying over his dead mother and invented a CHILD to take that abuse? or that he invented a new PARENTAL persona to deal with it after? im honestly NOT sure what the answer is. maybe its both, who fucking knows. HE sure wouldnt.

the abuse from his father is what kind of kept him in line, so to speak, but also caused so many of those anger issues he has. the issues he puts ELSEWHERE.... if he fucks up? hes punished. if his brothers fuck up? hes punished. he doesnt remember the punishment, but he knows to stay in line. hes a good little soldier. its not something that happened in front of his brothers, but it might have been loud enough they could hear... something. as little as they would understand.

when hes 12 they realize somethings different about him, because leos puberty has become more obvious than his. maybe he blames leo for his own problems ever being discovered. maybe thats why hes EXTRA mad about leos physical body.

(i also apologize for the way ive overly dramatized the sexual-dimorphism, its gotten a bit out of hand since the start but SHRUG it helps to show things over dramatically)

but when that part is realized, the sexual abuse under his father becomes different. thats when it's less about controlling him, and more about it being his purpose. doesnt happen in beds or in the dojo anymore, it happens in LABS after that, it happens to test him. to see if things will work. hes experimented on in terms of... being under a scope. having his body never feel like his own. hes sexually abused medically after that, if that makes sense. this builds up the phobia of labs and doctors and medical treatment.

and the reason the same kind of controlling sexual abuse never happened to leo is because of the part where he's already been disappointing enough, shredder knew that wouldnt fucking matter. there was never an idea in shredders mind that it would work, so he just takes worse beatings than raph did. and besides, shredder quickly realizes once he cant be used as a donor, leos the best option he has.

but shredder's lack of thinking of raph as a person causes him to say too much, thinking raph wouldnt fucking care what happened to him, let alone his brothers. so he tells raph that leo's going to take over for that. or he tells SOMEONE inside raph that that's what will happen.

but as soon as raph learns that part, its time to leave. hes okay enough to get them all out, okay enough to cope with the complete change in lifestyle, and then he starts to deteriorate.

his mother didnt help the situation, like she tried in her own way, but raphs shitty brain trying to process that the father he barely remembers raping him has also abused and beat and raped and tried to kill her? it makes him lock that shit up tighter. its not about him, in his eyes. to him? his mother saved him. shes the hero of his life. he had a bad parent, he has a good parent. she has to be just as good as he was evil. thats how he sees it.

to his brothers? raph saved them. theres this nice mom here, but... its been 6 years. they dont know the worst shit their dad did to her (cuz they shouldnt, theyre fucking children) but they know they had no adults for 6 fucking years of their childhood. so she does not get the hero treatment from them. which in turn, makes raph resent them.

raph processing all that with his fucked up brain turns him into a fucking maniac who puts all the blame on leo, despite none of it being leos fault. while his awake/most conscious brain has blocked out being raped and being told leo would rape him, he still has that fear and anger and resentment. he feels it, but so much of it goes into slash. and slash processes that shit worse. slash is ready to protect himself at all times, if slash sees leo make a face, leos getting hit. if leo pisses raph off too much, slash is coming out and leos getting hit. its bad. leo doesnt actually deserve any of that ire, he did nothing wrong, he just doesnt help the situation by being a traumatized kid who's only outlet is poking fun at his abusive older brother.

its great when casey comes along, because its a new outlet for raph, hes so much less angry because hes out of the house, hes away from his family, hes letting out years of pent up rage and aggression, and hes in some kind of sexual situation that he actually wants to be in. so he's balancing himself out with her help. she is good for him.

so for about 2 years raph is just... avoidant. and no one minds, because hes better than he was. he still has moments of anger, but the hitting stops. he gets along with leo in so far as they can hang out in a group setting with their brothers. they absolutely both prefer the twins to each other, but theyre... okay. they all kind of know they're an abused family, no one really says it. who would want to? they kind of accept each others quirks, and its lucky theres no adult men in this house to set anyone off. literally no one in that house would be able to handle a man raising his voice.

and then raph remembers pieces. and then it all kind of... clicks into place. and then he realizes its not about leo at all, and he apologizes. and leo realizes why raph's been like that. and then they reconnect, and then theyre finally brothers. leos the only person (other than casey) that really knows about the sexual abuse at that point. so now raph has two people he trusts like that.

and thats kind of where we're at. thats the baseline for everything.

Legacy is really painful both for elizabeth and for me bc i know what happens. Like ok you're being attacked by random carta members, so lets take a brief break from the craziness that is kirkwall rn to go see this shit and oh carver's here great. and then very soon you realize whatever's going on has to do with your dad and some shit he did that you never knew about.

and then in a weird turn of events, elizabeth and carver, during this little journey, are growing closer. I think its the fact that because leandra's dead, they're both with the mindset that wow you're literally all I have left. and carver has had like years to deal with his resentment and find a place with the wardens. the circumstances are shitty but this is nice.

anyways, and then elizabeth discovers that her dad, the man she basically idolized her whole life, didnt want to have a mage child. she hears from his fucking voice that he didn't want her. and it crushes her. because. did he always think that? did all the moments he tell her not to be scared of magic, and to embrace it, did he only mean it from the mouth out? was it all just a lie? elizabeth's a pretty good liar and she inhereted it from her dad, so she does put into question if everything she knows about her dad is a lie. and she doesnt even have her mother around to be able to ask. but carver's here and things are nice between them so she has to keep it together for him.

anyways they progress more into this thing and learning that her dad pretty much was doing blood magic while also telling her never to do it is smthg she's choosing to ignore for now. larius's reveal happens and she is very pissed about the whole you threatend my mom thing but its also like. leandra's dead. malcolm's dead. there's not gonna make any fucking difference now is it? so she continues to go along with larius.

and then you have that last convo with carver, which is where the painful for ME starts. Because its so nice. They just went through this weird shit together and for a moment. it feels like they're brother and sister again. Carver is able to look at his dad a little bit differently now and so much of that resentment is gone. And Elizabeth saying i dont think we had it that bad for awhile. The thing that gets to me is that. her carver and bethany, despite everything, did have a somewhat happy childhood in the sense of. Everything would be fine so long as they stayed together. that was the thing that carried elizabeth, that even if she was scared of bad things happening, things would be ok so long as there were still 5 of them.

but then there wasn't 5 of them anymore and everything changed. and 5 became 2 really quickly and it just sucks. but hey. at least carver is saying everything will be alright. maybe not now, but soon it'll be alright.

and then i remember thaat aa few years down the line, carver is going to sacrifice himself to save his sister.

okay so first i would literally Start w harrow and viren killing thunder the dragon. because that is the inciting incident. of the show. like throw out all the exposition and Show us the conflict between humans and elves. that s3 flashback scene could work as an introduction scene with some tweaking. harrow kills the dragon and hes like yayyy revenge but then viren pushes. the first thing viren should do on screen is manipulate his best friend into doing something terrible. prologue over.

skip a few days forward whateverrr introduce the princes. flesh our their relationship w their dad. maybe the first thing he does when he gets back from his Murder is tell them he did it for their mother. maybe he's acting a bit different now a bit distant. but the relationship between harrow and his sons should be like. actually thematically important? instead of. not.

harrow tries to shield his sons from the truth of what he did he tries to be the same man but theres a hint of that, my god what have i done? he did something terrible and bold. have his people be like. happy their queen is avenged but also like. expecting retaliation. compare killing thunder to humans first learning dark magic. great power heavy price. viren being like literallyyyy dont worry about it. elf racist. god i would make viren so elf racist but couch it in like. he wants what was taken from them -- positions himself as the avenger of humanity the way harrow avenged sarai. what we're doing is right. they started this. etc etc. dont make all the adult characters so fucking stupid and useless. have harrow face some friction from his advisors/councilors. but he's still the king. oh and throw in his notions of wanting to be a fair + just king. how do his actions fit into that childish dream? they dont. facing his flaws.

anyways okay all that happens. one, two episodes max we get to know the human side of the conflict. and thennn stinger for the end of that first arc is well. elves r done being sad its time to get revengeeee. instead of a group assassination, its just rayla and runaan. two person team bc strength isnt in numbers its a stealth mission. sneak in slaughter their targets get back. an eye for an eye. give rayla that motivation of wanting to avenge her cowardly parents/their failure. runaan being like this isnt a childs game this is for serious. and rayla being like yeah im not a kid + wanting to prove herself too. okay two man team we can still throw in rayla being unable to kill one guy. and that kinda ruins the mission. now theres tension. who do you root for? no ones doing the right thing. theyre all being terrible.

and then maybe the princes have a fight w their father their king. callum not wanting to seem ungrateful for all he's been given but ezran thinking what his father did was wrong. see he doesnt have that connection w his mother he was a baby when she died. but still being his mother's son and like she wouldnt have wanted you to do that. in the binary world of good and evil that exists in a ten year old's head, killing someone for something as abstract as revenge is evil. especially if you develop his bond w animals over humans.
