I like the concept of Doctor/Rogue but in execution I think it's very rushed and shallow.

Compare that to Doctor/River that took its sweet time with developing the characters' attraction and bond.

the case for charles being pan (as opposed to bi):

he's attracted to bossy, stubborn, traumatised people. he also lowkey has a competency kink. their gender doesn't matter--like it's maybe a part of it, but not necessarily the main part, and mostly he just likes those qualities. he even says himself that crystal and edwin are too similar and that's probably why they don't get along. crystal is almost like a girl version of the man he's been in love with (platonic or otherwise) for the last 30 years and with edwin being a repressed edwardian homosexual™, the romance just isn't even talked about. he just likes what he likes and it's not surprising to me that he took the first chance he got to express those feelings with someone it was 'okay' to like (a girl).

like you can't tell me he isn't projecting his feelings for edwin onto crystal just a tiny bit, even if it's just at first. he does it with the two jocks, he sees his father in the guy who kills his family over and over again--he's got a track record for projecting

anyway i need a season 2 so i can watch my boy figure out that he's in love with his best friend and what all that entails
