President Donald Trump lashed out at Israel and Iran Tuesday morning, suggesting they continued to exchange fire despite his announcement of a ceasefire.
“We basically, we have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the f— they’re doing,” Trump told reporters at the White House Tuesday morning before departing for a NATO summit.
Trump announced the ceasefire shortly after 6:00 p.m. Monday evening, saying it would go into effect 12 hours later. Overnight, Israel sustained one of the deadliest attacks since the conflict began when four people were killed and at least 22 others injured by an Iranian missile strike on a residential complex in Beersheba.
Israel also accused Iran of launching missiles after Trump’s proposed start time for the ceasefire, and the Israeli military promised a forceful military response.
In his comments to reporters, Trump accused both Iran and Israel of breaking the conditions of the ceasefire.
“I’m not sure they did it intentionally. They couldn’t rein people back. I don’t like the fact that Israel went out this morning at all, and I’m going to see if I can stop it. Israel, as soon as we made the deal, they came out and they dropped a load of bombs, the likes of which I’ve never seen before, the biggest load that we’ve seen. I’m not happy with Israel,” said Trump to reporters.
“I’m not happy with Iran either, these guys got to calm down. Ridiculous,” said Trump.
Shortly after boarding a plane headed for the summit, Trump took to Truth Social to assert that Israel had recommitted to the ceasefire.
“ISRAEL is not going to attack Iran. All planes will turn around and head home, while doing a friendly ‘Plane Wave’ to Iran. Nobody will be hurt, the Ceasefire is in effect! Thank you for your attention to this matter!” wrote the president.
Minutes later in another post on Truth Social, the president wrote, “IRAN WILL NEVER REBUILD THEIR NUCLEAR FACILITIES!”
Following Trump’s statements, the president spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu in an “an exceptionally firm and direct way” asking Israel not to retaliate against Iran, according to Axios.
Describing the call, Netanyahu said that Trump expressed “confidence in the stability of the ceasefire.”
“In the conversation,” said the Prime Minister’s Office, “President Trump expressed his immense appreciation for Israel — which achieved all of its war goals. The president also expressed his confidence in the stability of the ceasefire.”

Cool, so Trump just woke up today and decided to bomb us into another Middle Eastern war. Guess we’ll just shuffle the US troops still in Iraq over to Iran. (Maybe we could have avoided this if some orange idiot didn’t pull out of the Iranian Nuclear Agreement.)

Also, the US seems extremely unwilling to be involved! Everyone is comparing this to the Iraq War/talking about a Forever War, but it's only been a few days since the strikes and Trump has already set up a "ceasefire" and is telling Bibi to stop striking Iran. It seems very clear that this is not going to be a forever war, it's not going to spiral, Iran just no longer has a nuclear program...
It’s not “World War 3” (🙄), and I don’t think it’s going to be.
The US & Iran aren’t even officially at war with each other yet, it may never even get to that point, and even if it does, both Russia & China have every reason to avoid a direct war with the US. They’d lose a lot more than they’d gain before they even lost a single soldier if they went to war with the US, so it’s much more in their interests to help de-escalate the situation than to fan the flames.

I’m sorry but you can’t cry “human rights violation!!!!” when you are actively carrying out a campaign of genocide.
#sorry but it doesn’t work like that!#you can’t decry humans rights violations of a group that doesn’t even represent a majority of innocent people (by the way)…#…if you are actively carrying out a genocide under the thinly veiled guise of going after that group#Genocide which is y’know one of the greatest violations of human rights since it seeks to completely eradicate one group of people.#like there are innocent people being caught in the crosshairs on both sides#not everyone living in Israel or who is Jewish supports the Israel government’s bombings of Gaza#not every Palestinian supports Hamas or condones their brutal attacks on innocent civilians#but to try and conflate the actions of a militant group to represent the thinking of all of the citizens and be an excuse to destroy them…#…isn’t right and deserves to be held accountable#also stop acting like there is not a massive power imbalance present#Israel has the Iron Dome and their own military forces and funding from the U.S.#Hamas has missels and stock piled resources from funding from Iran#Israel controls the food water fuel and medicine access to those that have been forced to live in Gaza#they are not in any way shape or form on equal footing which doesn’t make this a ‘war’#I can’t wrap my head around the fact that one of the groups persecuted in one of the most horrifying genocides is currently conducting…#…a genocide on another group of people#the rhetoric of gov’t officials from Israel dehumanizing innocent civilians points to the fact that this isn’t about retribution#but to conduct a genocide#if you don’t think that the current actions of the Israeli government aren’t wrong and are supporting it you can unfollow and block me!#like it’s not black and white but the actions that are currently happening are not acceptable

I need to talk about this.
Misha, I think you're a brilliant actor, I love supernatural. But sometimes you really don't know what you're talking about.
This post needs some context. It was posted at 22.6.25 (yesterday) - just a few days after Trump bombed the three nuclear sites in Iran. Now, don't get me wrong, I am not a Trump supporter in any way. This isn't about him.
Now, I'm not only talking about him. This is a message to all of ya'll who think he's right.
The point is that that post is condemning America for the decision to bomb Iran. Iran, or the IRGC, who have publicly stated their intent to bring the destruction of America (and Israel). The IRGC, who had for years illegally continued in research and development of nuclear weapons. The IRGC, who supported and funded terrorist organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah for years.
Which, I'm sorry, but What The Fuck.
You say you don't want war. You don't think it's a good idea to bomb a country into stopping creating bombs as self defence. But that's not what Iran is doing.
Iran wants to build nuclear weapons. That's not the fucking same. That's not "using bombs to defend themselves". That's a nice and easy way to annihilate a country, like they were saying they were going to do, without facing consequences, 'cuz the rest of the world is terrified they're going to do it to them.
(Or worse, inciting another world war. I don't think we would want that either)
the current Iranian government is not only dangerous to America and Israel, it's also oppressing it's own people. Ever since the Iranian Revolution in 1979, which resulted in the rising of Khomeini to power, the regime had oppressed its citizens and violated their human rights countless times. Try to remember the protests for Mahsa Amini that everyone talked about not so long ago. Have you all forgotten what the IRGC is capable of?
Of course, I hope the people of Iran will be free of the oppressive government. I hope this will end with as little civilian casualties as possible. But that post isn't about them.
Misha, I assume you were talking about America attacking Iran - because you always conveniently ignored Israel when it came to anything political - but. America didn't just bomb civilian areas. They attacked, very specifically, only nuclear sites. There were no civilian casualties. This wasn't America saying Iran couldn't have any bombs at all, it was trying to make sure they didn't have nuclear weapons. I really, really hope you see why no one would want that.
On a slightly different topic, I have something else to say.
So you don't want war. Okay. You don't think it's a good idea to bomb a country to convince them they don't need bombs to defend themselves.
Interesting.
Hamas and Hezbollah - Iranian proxies, as I'm (not so) sure you know - have threatened Israel for decades now. They are terrorist organizations. They have had a lot of bombs they were more that willing to send against Israel, many times against Israeli civilians and civilian areas.
Israel had been forced to develop an exceptional defence system - Iron Dome, the Arrow system, etc. - in order to protect itself from those threats. In a way, Israel is the perfect example that bombing a country won't convince them that they don't need bombs to defend themselves. But did you ever say anything about that? No?
On October 7, 2023, Hamas had entered Israel, kidnapped more than two hundred people and murdered more than a thousand. Most of the dead were civilians. 50 hostages are still in Gaza. We don't even know how many of them are alive.
But let's see, Misha, what did you say about them? What did you say when all these people were killed and kidnapped?
Oh, right. You didn't.
If you really wanted "No More War", supporting countries that want exactly the opposite maybe isn't such a great idea. And if you don't know what you're talking about, you really should just shut up and find something you know better to talk about.

Help me, a disabled transmasc with no income, save my traumatized cat
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bug, who survived October 7th, is currently being hospitalized for liver failure and possibly blockage in his bile ducts and/or jaundice. The minimum cost of his hospitalization is 2000 USD, but since they told us that it's unlikely that we'll get him back in under 3 days the cost is closer to 3000 USD, and may go all the way up to 4000. My only income is my disability check, which goes to cover rent and utilities and leaves very little to use to cover such a huge and unexpected expense. Please if you can, donate to my ko-fi to help save my boy:
(if you're Israeli, DM me for details on how else you can send me money)
@not-the-blue is offering some commissions to people who've donated (minimum $10 donation). Contact her for details, she is a fantastic artist and I've commissioned her multiple times. Below the cut are some of my favorite pieces of hers & some of my commissions (including one I forgot to post oops) as well as more details about Bug's life so far
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
More Bug details:
My boyfriend and I adopted Bug last summer, with the hopes that having a friend would calm my other cat down a little. Originally I was going to call him Spike - my other cat's name is Buffy - but what we got was not the skinny boy he looked like in the pictures, but an overweight, tail-less creature that looked, well, kind of bug-like. Over the past ten months he has been slowly - SLOWLY - losing weight as he has been playing with Buffy and eating a steady healthy amount of food.
He came to us deeply traumatized, having been found locked in a room in the south on October 7th with shrapnel in his tail, necessitating its removal (there's not even a nub!). At first he was quite skittish, although over the past ten months he has warmed up to us steadily, and a few weeks ago he actually sat on me for the first time! Kind of hilariously and also tragically, he's afraid of the dark, and when we go to sleep he spends a good half hour every night crying at the top of his lungs, and guys - you've never heard a cat that sounds more like just straight up a baby, it can be so distressing to hear.
Over the past week he very suddenly started deteriorating fast. He started coughing, throwing up this green foam, stopped crying at night, spent most of the day hidden under the bed, wasn't eating as much and eventually at all. We took him to the vet the moment we could, and they said he needed to be taken to the ER to be hospitalized *now*. So we rushed him there, and were eventually told he's probably going to need several days of hospitalization. The itemized bill made me cry even harder than I was already crying - I can't afford to take care of my boy.
Buffy also got sick earlier this year, although in a much less serious manner, and she has an appointment that will probably result in most of her teeth getting taken out next month, in itself not a cheap process but nowhere near as expensive as this. And because of the war with Iran, my one source of income for this month was literally canceled - no public events when missiles could land at any moment.
We're already at over 25% of the goal reached, which means the world to me. Still, the goal is a minimum - it may very well end up being much, much more expensive. Your help has been so appreciated - I've gotten some very generous donations, but also just the people who've shared it and the kind words people have sent with their donations. Thank you thank you thank you

THE REGIONAL WAR in the Middle East now involves at least 16 different countries and includes the first strikes from Iranian territory on Israel, but the United States continues to insist that there is no broader war, hiding the extent of American military involvement. And yet in response to Iran’s drone and missile attacks Saturday, the U.S. flew aircraft and launched air defense missiles from at least eight countries, while Iran and its proxies fired weapons from Iraq, Syria, and Yemen.
[...]
While the world has been focused on — and the Pentagon has been stressing — the comings and goings of aircraft carriers and fighter jets to serve as a “deterrent” against Iran, the U.S. has quietly built a network of air defenses to fight its regional war. “At my direction, to support the defense of Israel, the U.S. military moved aircraft and ballistic missile defense destroyers to the region over the course of the past week,” President Joe Biden said in a statement Saturday. “Thanks to these deployments and the extraordinary skill of our servicemembers, we helped Israel take down nearly all of the incoming drones and missiles.” As part of that network, Army long-range Patriot and Terminal High Altitude Area Defense surface-to-air missile batteries have been deployed in Iraq, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and at the secretive Site 512 base in Israel. These assets — plus American aircraft based in Kuwait, Jordan, the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia — are knitted together in order to communicate and cooperate with each other to provide a dome over Israel (and its own regional bases). The United Kingdom is also intimately tied into the regional war network, while additional countries such as Bahrain have purchased Patriot missiles to be part of the network. Despite this unambiguous regional network, and even after Israel’s attack on Iran’s embassy in Syria earlier this month, the Biden administration has consistently denied that the Hamas war has spread beyond Gaza. It is a policy stance — and a deception — that has held since Hamas’s October 7 attack. “The Middle East region is quieter than it has been in two decades,” Biden’s national security adviser Jake Sullivan said in an ill-timed remark eight days before October 7. “We don’t see this conflict widening as it still remains contained to Gaza,” deputy Pentagon press secretary Sabrina Singh said the day after three U.S. troops were killed by a kamikaze drone launched by an Iran-backed militia at a U.S. base in Jordan. Since then (and even before this weekend), the fighting has spread to Iraq, Syria, Jordan, and Yemen.

Here's what you need to know about Trump's attack on Iran that no one is telling you:
There's a lot of buzz going around about Trump's attack on Iran being illegal because it was done without congressional approval. I appreciate what these people are trying to do, but they're wrong and spreading misinformation doesn't help anyone. Here's the truth:
Trump's strike on Iran is protected by the War Powers Act of 1973. The War Powers Act was passed in response to illegal military activity by the President during the Vietnam War. At the time, war was never officially declared by Congress and under the Constitution, while the President commands the military, Congress holds the power to declare war and controls all military spending. So waging war without Congressional approval was illegal. Unfortunately, the War Powers Act changed that.
What the War Powers Act does is it gives the President unrestricted approval to wage war without Congressional approval for up to 90 days. Congress must be informed of the action within 48 hours of deployment. After 90 days, Congress reviews the Presidents actions and if they do not approve, they freeze military spending and assets. If they do approve, the President gets another 90 days to continue waging their war before Congress reviews again and so on. War never has to be officially declared. In fact, the United States has not declared war once since 1941 because of the War Powers Act.
So technically, what Trump has done so far is not illegal. That doesn't mean it's right. We need to focus our energy on repealing the War Powers Act to strip away his power to wage war unconstitutionally. If we don't focus on the root of the problem and latch onto misinformation instead, he's going to continue getting away with it.

People like to talk about the lessons Jews should or did learn from the Holocaust, as though that's the only genocide we've been through. They like to say it should make us the nicest, kindest people because we've been through the worst so how could we ever inflict pain on others? How could we ever hold ourselves as more important to us than others, having seen the camps?
The thing is, we did learn a lesson. And it's a lesson we've been taught time and time again. That when it comes down to it, not only will non-Jews look the other way when Jews are slaughtered, they will gleefully participate and cheer it on. From Rome to the Crusades, to Spain, to Germany and all the places in between, we've learned that we're in this alone. We want to all be in this together, but everyone else has made it clear that that's never going to be the case.
So we know we're alone, that other than a very small minority, the only people who will ever object to Jews bieng murdered are other Jews. The Righteous Among the Nations are a tiny minority, and for every person who was a member, there are not hundreds who think they would have been. Some of them think they would have been and are celebrating the largest pogrom since WWII today. They're wrong, of course. If the Nazis came for the Jews, they'd do what they're doing: celebrate it.
Yes, we learned our lesson. We learned you all hate us, and Jewish existence has to be secured by Jews, no one else will do it for us or help us. This combined with our ancient longing to return to where we came from and created the modern state of Israel. Then there were more attempts to wipe out Jews, more attempts to drive us into the sea and destroy us, but this time, Jews took our future into our own hands and survived. Were there excesses? Yes. War crimes? Definitely. Have the past decades included missteps, crimes, and all sorts of horrible things? Yes.
But why would Israel do these things? Survival. Why has the war against Hamas in Gaza been so destructive? Why has it expanded to Yemen, to Lebanon, and potentially to Iran? Survival. In the end, Israel is a country with a single mandate written in stone: the Jewish people will live. And on October 7th, 2023, Hamas made it clear that whatever mellowing they'd appeared to do, whatever potential there had seemed for peace, Hamas finds that mandate to be intolerable. They believe the Jewish people must die. And then they killed as many as they could. Then the Houthis and Hezbollah joined in, firing rockets and drones.
If you're a country whose mandate is "the people of my country must survive" and with the historical understanding of "and no one will come to our aid if things get really serious" then what do you do? You, too, would view this struggle as existential. You, too, would likely accept casualties and destruction to try to root out the groups trying to wipe you off the face of the Earth. And you, too, wouldn't trust the people who seem weirdly obsessed with attacking the country that is going to extreme lengths to ensure that you survive.
What did the Jewish people learn from the Holocaust? We're alone. Help isn't coming. We have to deal with threats by ourselves. And that's why Gaza is in ruins, why Beirut is being bombed, and why Biden is trying to persude Netanyahu not to destroy Iran's oil refineries. And amid all this, you all are taking to the streets, calling for our deaths, and proving that those lessons were right, but might not have gone far enough.

Jason drove around town, close to JLA Headquarters. Roy and Harley sat in the car with him while Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us" blasted until Jason made an abrupt stop.
Harley nearly dropped her lipstick while reapplying it.
Harley: I told ya to stop doin' that!
Jason (slowly getting angry): Sorry... You know what, fuck Superman on some real shit! I have to do this now or I won't sleep tonight.
Jason backed up the car and drove to the JLA headquarters.
Roy (looking up from his phone): What's happening?
Harley: Did Superman give ya a goody two shoes speech? I hate those.
Jason: Nope. I shouldn't tell you, but I have this forever grudge against him since he stopped B from killing Joker.
Roy (surprised): He did?
Harley: Oh, that's why he backed out.
Jason: Yep, and enough time passed that Batman eventually went, 'I won't kill anyone, at all. Which includes Joker, who killed my damn son!'
Harley and Roy: That sounds about Batman.
Jason: Yep, yep, yep. I have moved past that resentment because to be honest he'd go insane and kill crazy if he killed Joker. Which I hate to admit, that shitty clown wants that.
Harley: He totally does. I have a plan for whenever I want to kill him myself.
Jason: I do too. Now a bigger man would let all this go. Bury this anger. I am not a bigger man minus my height and weight. Superman, isn't my father in any way, shape, or form.
Roy: I don't like where this is going.
Jason: Yeah, you're not stopping me either. I will never forgive Superman for beating the sense out of my father. I don't care about the context, whether a war was about to happen if Batman did kill Joker or that he had to beat him up because B was determined to kill the Joker. No matter what, I’ll never stop messing with him!
Harley: Hm... Ya know old Harleen would tell you violence won't fix this. Current street therapist Harley says release that rage the best way ya know how since Superman is basically unkillable for us. Then we can get pizza afterwards.
Jason: I feel like chicken is a better meal for this.
Roy: I'm going to agree with that, but what war was going to start if Bruce killed the Joker?
Harley: Joker was an Iran Ambassador for a time after Jason died. Batman killing him in that context would cause a world war.
Roy (taken back by this revelation): ... He was a fucking what?
Harley: It was a crazy time, um were you in space durin' that time or goin' through addiction?
Roy (rubbing his forehead): I'm not sure, those years are a blur. Why didn't someone kill him after he stopped being an ambassador... He's not still an ambassador is he?
Jason (tightening his grip around the steering wheel): He's not.
Roy: What the fuck? Why is he alive?!
Harley: Batman doesn't kill at all and he's made it clear no other heroes will kill a Gotham rogue. He sent out a newsletter and everything.
Roy: Wow... Jason, do you need any tips to attack Superman and it actually hurt him?
Jason: Yes. If I don't I will start shooting wildly again and accidentally shoot Wonder Woman.
Roy: I know a few facts and insults you can use against him that will emotionally and mentally hurt him.
Harley: I can give you some psychiatric text book insults too.
Jason: Write them down and text them to me. I'm too angry to remember them.
To be continued (as soon as I Google good superman insults lol)

Guess I should throw out some Gaza Ceasefire Thoughts - from a political history perspective it certainly is interesting:
-- As for the deal itself, it is pretty much "the best one could realistically hope for", though funnily enough the details aren't that surprising. Israel for some time has had very little strategy in Gaza (beyond "release the hostages or we keep blowing up random blocks"), and so them agreeing to these terms is the expected outcome. Hamas also lacked any real strategic options, but in the summer you could at least argue "the status quo of radicalizing the population and shredding Israeli reputation is beneficial", so you can see why both sides really weren't committing to anything before in the summer. Things have changed since then, though.
-- The straight-up-humiliating defeat of Hezbollah in the fall was a complete game-changer for the strategic situation. As much as Hamas had a strategy it was "wait for Hezbollah/Iran to carry the weight of the fight", and that was going not-awfully through the summer. Then Israel absolutely shattered Hezbollah to the point where their ability to control Lebanese politics is up-for-grabs, and any real threat to Israel is temporarily gone. Meanwhile Iran stacked that defeat with the revolution in Syria and their own military capacity losses, and while there is real tension in Iran between realist & radicalist factions, the current winds are blowing towards retreat. Combine that with the death of Sinwar, and the new Hamas leadership had no cards left to play. By the same token, Israel has few fights left to win.
-- This is why negotiations resumed in earnest in October/November, and right now you are seeing some pretty heavy exaggeration of the role of the Trump administration in this deal. It has been being hashed out for months, you can easily point to articles about progress throughout both of those months (example) and the Biden administration was heavily involved in the Doha talks. These things just take time, and both sides had a dramatic incentive shift recently. That is carrying the most weight here - talks were "90% complete" before any Trump reps arrived on the scene.
-- But the election certainly did play a role here, primarily because it was inducing uncertainty and changing incentives in the US. While it was going on you can see how both sides could "hope" that new administrations might let them gain an advantage, and understood that commitments from the Biden administration in August just weren't very meaningful. Additionally, while not very important the war was "an issue" in the election, and so the "action space" of politicians was shaped by that. Why not just...wait, and see how things go, right? Now there is no more reason to wait, you know what you got.
--I don't want to take all credit away from Trump on this, though. A theme I will continue to harp on, the "Imperial Presidency" has advantages. Biden was a perpetual faction appeaser, and you could credibly call his bluff on any decision around the war by going "you won't take the heat from your own party on this" from the left or the right. Trump can much more credibly claim "I don't give a fuck what I 'said on the campaign trail', I say what goes, make a deal or I will absolutely spite you". This is not a great strategy in a lot of contexts, but in foreign policy you need this sometimes. Dems really do need to take notes here, more unity in either direction and more strong brinksmanship from Biden would have been better.
--Now let's walk that back a bit - it is way easier for the Trump administration to play hardball. Elections make hard decisions much more difficult to pull off, as political factions can punish you more easily. The Dems have an asymmetric disadvantage here - they are inherently the "dove" party facing a topic where the median American voter is generally hawkish, and they are the party that contains a notable split within itself on the issue. Meanwhile Republicans all agree. No longer facing electoral pressure, it is much easier for Republicans to play a "Nixon goes to China" card and credibly browbeat Israel. No one will really think the Republicans are anti-Israel even if they do that, and Dems can't accuse them effectively of foul play because the party itself is split on the topic. This is "unfair" in a certain sense, for sure, but such is politics.
--I would be assigning way less credulity to the complaints amoung the Israeli far-right about Trump or Netanyahu "betraying" them. The far-right in Israeli is a powerful force, for sure, but by no means do they command the majority. They want to annex the West Bank and all that, but most Israelis disagree, the military isn't on board, it would jeopardize US/Arab ties, etc. Never say never but that was not really in the cards - if it was they would have done it already. Slow-roll settlement expansion is the plan, that will continue, but meanwhile there is nothing left to do in Gaza. Netanyahu is of course going to say publicly "oh boo hoo my hands were tied by the Americans I'm so sorry" while he gets almost all of his realistic goals. This is politics 101 stuff - though if the approval vote on Thursday goes sour then I am wrong on this, part of why I am posting it today. (Also another reason to not assign too much credit to the Trump admin - easy to "bully" someone who wants to be bullied)
Okay done - hopefully the ceasefire sticks, obviously this has been a disastrous war for almost all involved, never look the imperfect status quo horse in the mouth. It isn't the world one would want but it is better than the one we have right now.

Seen an interesting thing:
Tumblr media
It's not really clear what anon means by "pro-israel". "Hating on Arabs/Muslims" or "Hating on genocide of Jews"? Let me remind you,
Tumblr media
Ukraine is historically the land where Jews could live peacefully until the notorious russian empress Catherine the Second put the Sedentary Band on Ukraine, Belarus and Lithuania. That meant that Jews were deported from villages to cities, the Jews had to take russian-like surnames and names in order not to be arrested or killed - and then, russia organized pogroms all over those cities, including Vilnius, Kyiv, Miensk and Odesa. Jews could not leave the Sedentary Band without being arrested and/or killed. Russia put all sorts of bans and restrictions on Jewish traders, too. As you can see, the soviet union idea has much deeper roots than it seems.
That's why, after the Sedentary Band was cancelled, a large amount of Jews fled away: some to Poland, some to America, some to russia, some to Palestine. In russia, which is originally the biggest antisemit, life sucked pretty much, enough for many already russian-speaking Jews leaving it later and once again migrating to Poland, America, Palestine, etc. So technically, russia, as the biggest sponsor of Hamas, is at fault for both murders of Jews by Islamists and Jewish "occupation" of Palestine, lol.
After soviet pogroms, Holocaust happened, which was followed by even more soviet pogroms, actively financed by russia (go read about Lithuanian Jewish actor Andrei Mironov or Ukrainian composer Isaac Iosifovich Schwartz) - and unfortunately, some Ukrainians actively participated in killing Jews. After Ukraine has gained its independence from russia in 1991, we made sure that Ukrainians will never forget the misery, grief and pain which was brought upon Jews, both by Nazi, communists and just Ukrainian antisemitic collaborants. When I was a kid, every year, we had excursions to Babyn Yar museum - the place where hundreds of hundreds of Jews, including kids and their moms, were brutally murdered.
Ukrainians are "pro-Israel" because we understand what it's like, to be genocided, to be victim-blaimed, when the whole world turns its back on you just because your enemy is richer and more popular. Ukrainians don't hate Muslims or Palestinians - Ukrainians are disgusted by mass murders and rapes Hamas brought upon the Jews and Druzes and random tourists, some Ukrainians actually were killed on October 7, too. Ukrainians know what "Never Again" means. Ukrainians hate rapists and murderers. That's why we are "pro-Israel", бо інакше це треба бути повним дебілом (although it's much more correct to say we are "pro-Jews" since most of us is totally unaware of whatever happens in Israeli government). Despite understanding the anger of those Palestinians, who have to live through war and lose their loved ones because of their idiotic Hamas, we, as a currently genocided nation, actively support the right of Israel to strike its rapist and mass murderer back. We are also thankful to Israel for seriously damaging Iran's production of "shaheds" which kill Ukrainians almost every day.
The idea itself that Ukrainians support Israel because some Israeli happen to know russian language is insane and sounds like a conspiracy theory. Those Ukrainians who believe that "evil zionists are committing genocide" are just either chronically online or those, who didn't study school history properly, or those with prorussian mentality, or ✨️businessmen✨️. Or all of these together. Which is not a lot of people, thanks God. Hope this helps.
P.S. We don't hate Muslims and Arabs. Ukraine has pretty good relations with Turkey, UAE, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, etc. Many Ukrainians I know are fond of UAE in particular because people there are hardworking and like to study and apply the knowledge to make the world better.
