I was writing something about Arven and Nemona's friendship and I remembered how in the end of the main game, Nemona, seeing how down everyone was, offered to take the long way home. To help with the mood. But I also think it was her recognizing that everyone, especially Arven, needed time to let things simmer. Bc if they took the regular way home, they would have had to immediately face the repercussions of 1) going to Area Zero unauthorized 2) have to break the news of what happened in Area Zero. And after everything that happened down there, none of them especially Arven, don't want to deal with that emotional labor immediately. So they take the long way home. A chance to decompress, to release some tension, even just a tiny bit.

I think, for all her faults when it comes to reading the room at times, I do think Nemona is pretty emotionally intelligent. She has been said to be a role model to others right? Or at least had been shown to be one. So yeah, I think her offering the long way home is her trying to make the inevitable easier for everyone.
