talking about married ladies, it is quite interesting that georgina doesn't wear a ring! if you look at princess leah, she has a ring on her left hand's ring finger; but if you look at maleanor, who's also married, she wears a ring on her right hand's middle finger! this makes me wonder if different races have different wedding ring customs! personally, it made me think that merfolk just dont wear rings as proof of marriage; in the little mermaid prequel, for example, ariel's mother and father wear no rings despite being married (i think???) anyway, i hope we find out more about this what do you think? are there any other married characters that come to mind?

I don’t have any comment on the actual Disney characters and whether or not they wear rings and in a consistent place after marriage; I’m of the opinion that even if I checked this, details that are true in the Disney versions do not always translate over to Twst. We also can’t tell what are animation errors or not, especially granted that it’s usually the lower budget sequels or prequels that show married characters.

Traditionally, a wedding ring would be worn on your left hand’s ring finger (fourth finger from the thumb). The only Twst parent to be wearing a ring like this is Queen Leah.

As someonetwisted said, Maleanor wears a ring on her right hand's middle finger. This could be indicative of different races having different traditions when it comes to where their wedding ring is worn--however, because we have seen so few married fae + merpeople and no married beastmen to compare to, it's unclear whether this is the case or if Maleanor's ring is just something she wears as a sign of opulence as a princess.

The only other fae I can think of is Baur, but it's not obvious if he was married or not at the time of Lilia's time as a general. Even if Baur were married during that era, his armor would make it difficult to wear a ring:

This is probably also why the Dawn Knight wears no ring. However, I do believe that if you extract the in-game assets, he is shown to be wearing a wedding band under his armor.

Lilia, who is a single parent and never got married, of course wears no ring. (It would also be odd to pass as a high school student while you’re wearing a wedding ring/j)

Then we have Dylla and Eric Venue, who may have been married at one point or (for whatever reason) are no longer with their partner. Neither wear rings, which could be because they never actually married or have split up with or lost their spouses in some other way. It could be something practical though?

For Dylla, a ring might get in the way of her truck driving and delivering goods. She may not want to wear something “fancy” for such a physically demanding and casual job. For Eric, a celebrity, he wouldn’t want the public to know he is already taken or has been with a woman in a physical capacity. This is especially the case because Vil doesn’t want people to know about their familial connection and claim he only has his success due to nepotism.

When it comes to parents who are happily married, there's the Clovers (from the Heartslabyul manga!) and Mr. and Mrs. Shroud.

You can't see Mrs. Clover's hands, but Mr. Clover appears to wear no ring. I'm going to assume Mrs. Clover is the same. Again, I see this as a practical thing. Wearing a ring while making baked goods seems unsanitary.

Mr. and Mrs. Shroud wear gloves, but no rings. I'm not as certain about this one, but maybe Mr. Shroud avoids wearing a ring due to workplace professionalism? He does seem to be the more serious one of the duo.

As for Mrs. Shroud, maybe she foregoes the ring (despite being so love-dovey) in case it gets in the way of her job...? I'm not sure how tech stuff works, but my thought is that this would be to avoid the metal or gem of the ring interfering with whatever she's inventing in case they come in contact. Or maybe she just wants to match with her husband?

The only married merperson we know of right now is, of course, Georgina, who wears no ring:

One proposed (kek, get the pun?) reason as to why this is is that every race has different traditions or customs to indicate being taken. However, I wonder if there's another reason...?

If you look at the true form of a moray eel merperson, they have webbed fingers. This would make it extremely difficult to wear a ring. (I should point out that the more humanoid merpeople, like the Atlantica Memorial Museum guards, do NOT have webbed fingers, so it would be possible for them to wear rings.)

It seems tedious for morays to keep a ring prepared just to slip on every time you visit the land. It also feels like a small thing like the ring would be easily washed away by the waves. And how frequently would you be going to land, anyway? Would this extra effort be worth it??

I also think it’s entirely possible that Georgina doesn’t wear a ring because it goes against glove etiquette. Yes, there is such a thing 😂

In glove etiquette, you are not supposed to wear a ring over your gloves. This just is not done, I’m assuming because it can mess with the fabric. (Besides, rings are measured to fit your finger, without taking gloves into consideration!) It’s also not advisable to wear rings under your gloves, as this would ruin the smooth silhouette with an unsightly lump.

Another component of glove etiquette is the length: shorter gloves are appropriate for cocktail parties and more informal occasions, while gloves that extend past elbow length (which is true of Georgina’s outfit) are for formal occasions. Since Georgina does appear to be formally dressed and in attendance for an acquaintance’s pre-wedding festivities + is a well put-together woman, it’s not too far-fetched to assume she doesn’t have a ring on in order to conform with the etiquette.

We probably won’t see Mr. Leech this event, but maybe in a future one! That’s probably when Floyd gets his “hometown” (a bit of a misnomer, since Ultramarine City and Maquillaville aren’t Jade or Vil’s respecrive hometowns) SSR. I always thought that Jade took after his dad since Mr. Leech stresses the importance of proper dress and attitude… but hey, maybe he’s got a bit of loose cannon in him like Floyd??

Opposites Attract: A Design Analysis

(i cant think of a better title)

Wind Breaker probably has the most unique character designs I’ve seen in animanga. It’s clear that Nii Satoru puts a lot of care in them, whether it be their clothing styles to what the designs themselves symbolize, and how they pertain to the characters themselves.

This is also a common theme in other mangas as well. However, there has been one particular aspect of certain character designs that have always intrigued me: ones which involve two characters meant to contrast each other (whether narratively or just their personalities) having blatantly opposing elements in their designs and traits.

In this analysis, I’ll be talking about these specific design choices when it comes to the Wind Breaker characters, specifically Togame and Choji!

I’ve already briefly gone over some of their design elements in one of my other posts, but I’ll reiterate it here to save you some time, as well as provide some more in-depth analysis.

I. Hair

Prior to Choji becoming the leader of Shishitoren, Togame and Choji’s hair were short, most likely to highlight their youth at the time. Not much to say here, since their hairstyles look rather similar, but I’ll talk more about this later I’m still sad the anime cut their pre sstr appearances they were so cute

Right after Choji becomes the leader, Togame has noticeably longer hair that he lets down. This could represent that Togame had nothing to tie him down (ie. he was still free) before Choji went haywire. Choji’s hair stays the relatively the same.

After Togame makes his promise to Choji, he braids his normally let down hair to signify how he’s now bound to Shishitoren and Choji wishes. On the other hand, Choji’s hair is now much more longer and messier during the Shishitoren Arc, mostly likely to represent his tattered mental state.

During the climax of Togame vs. Sakura however, he removes his hairtie and lets his hair flow freely again—now that he’s seen the true error of his ways, he no longer ties himself down to Shishitoren.

On the contrary, Choji rips out his own hair during his fight with Umemiya. This is meant to further highlight his degraded mental state, and his frustration upon hearing Umemiya’s words + him not being able to understand his current situation. In a way, this could also symbolize how Choji had ripped Shishitoren apart (hence the title of the chapter being called ‘Ripped Down).

Post-Shishitoren, both boys go through a Expository Hairstyle Change and decide to cut their hair. Togame even has an undercut to solidify that he truly has nothing that ties himself down anymore. Even Choji’s hair is less messier. Their current hairstyles are also somewhat reminiscent to when they were younger in my opinion; showing that Shishitoren has gone back to normal.

Choji and Togame’s hair also contrast each other. Togame has straighter, black hair that used to be much longer than Choji’s, while the latter has beige curly hair that stays relatively short throughout the series.

II. Bodies

To start, Togame and Choji are the classic Tall x Shorter duo, with a whopping 39 centimeter (~15 inches or 1 foot and 1/4ths in 🇺🇸🦅 units) height difference:

Choji is pretty thin, while Togame is more bulkier in build.

Togame’s face is much more broad and chiseled, while Choji’s is a lot more rounder (like a bunny….). Choji’s has a button nose, and Togame’s long and thick too.

Speaking of which, their facial features can be attributed to their namesakes; Tomiyama has the Japanese character for rabbit in it, while Togame has the turtle kanji in his.

III. Eyes

Choji’s eyes are round and wide, while Togame’s are slanted and narrow. Additionally, Choji’s eyes are sometimes colored a reddish-brown/red (it reminds me of a REW rabbit), while Togame’s are emerald; red and green are complimentary/contrasting colors.

Togame and Choji had ‘soulless’ eyes during the Shishitoren arc. It’s more apparent for Choji’s eyes—which shows the drab state of his mentality at the time and the empty feeling he has after becoming Shishitoren’s leader. Togame’s eyes are less empty on the other hand, representing the cruel façade he put up. Both of their eyes eventually return to normal and regain their shines after they reconcile.

IV. Additional Tidbits

Togame and Choji are a literal reference to ‘The Tortoise and The Hare’, from their story to their namesakes. Yes, the Aesop fable. They even mention a race in their backstory:

Since Choji is the hare and Togame is the tortoise, they are fast and slow respectively. Choji speaks very rapidly and excitedly, while Togame speaks in a very drawn out and slow way:

This translates to their fighting styles. Togame uses his weight and grappling skills against his enemies, while Choji uses his height and speed to his advantage.

Since Togame calls Choji the Sun, this implies that he’s the Moon given that he’s Shishitoren’s second in command. Choji and Togame’s relationship fits the Sun and Moon dynamic overall (Togame is drawn to Choji and Choji’s ‘rays’ allows him to shine as well, but the Sun and Moon cannot coexist without each other). You might as well call him the love of your life Togame

(ran into image limit) Togame doesn’t like texting and prefers calls, while Choji texts a lot

Choji dislikes waiting, whereas Togame doesn’t like being pressed for time (lines up with the tortoise and hare correlation)

Togame stretches first thing in the morning, Choji likes to bask in the sun

Both have eating competitions listed as their hobby

Togame’s dream is to have a quiet/retired life, while Choji wants to open a shop with Togame WE GET IT!!! YOU’RE MARRIED!!!!

buddy and monkey's trips to the zoo are always pretty chaotic to say the least, the whole day is an adventure for the dynamic duo!

once buddy learnt how to walk, leah isn't exactly sure who she spent more time chasing after given the excitement that both of the girls had.

it's also the first time that she realises it was a rookie error to leave buddy's pushchair behind.

wrangling both buddy and monkey at the same time was a challenge in itself, even with lia there as a pair of extra hands.

I've been memeing with my friends about how Aventurine is probably refusing all system updates, so he would just accidentally say "Error" sometimes. But because of this, sometimes he needs a quick (or long) reboot, so he just passes out. At first Dr. Ratio was like "Not my problem" and let him face plant, but after some time, he just started feeling bad, so when he hears the "Error" he's like "I think it's time for a quick rest!" and makes his dumb friend sit down! BACKSTORY

• Ivan was born with deformities to his legs and arm, causing him to be wheelchair-bound from a young age.

• A brilliant mind with a passion for studying Soul and its applied uses, he joined the Soul Sanctum to pursue his research. His many papers on the attunement of extracted Soul to new living bodies caught the interest of the head of the Soul Sanctum ; the Soul Master. The pair would soon begin working on different projects and experiments together.

• They grew extremely close over the years, with their relationship becoming an open secret among Scholars of the Sanctum.

• Through trial and error the duo would create several prosthetics which were bound to their user with Soul and worked as a nearly flawless extension of their body. Once Ivan felt they had perfected the process, he underwent surgery to have his damaged limbs removed and replaced by steel and Soul prosthetics. Although the operations took a toll on his body, he was able to recover and overtime learned to use his new limbs.

• Sadly, Ivan would soon fall victim to the Infection as strands of it had inadvertently made their way into the Soul animating his new limbs. Feeling his mind breaking and his free will slipping away, he begged the Soul Master to kill him before he was completely lost to the light. He spent his last moments in the Soul Master's arms before his lover ended his life with a pair of scissors.

• The Soul Master, distraught at what he was forced to do, carried Ivan's body across the Sanctum and had it sealed in a tomb inside a hidden room next to his quarters. He would regularly visit the tomb, allowing Ivan to witness his degrading mental health and his own fall to the Infection.

• In-game, the player can find Ivan's tomb behind a breakable wall in the Soul Sanctum. If the player already has the Dream Nail they can speak with Ivan's spirit, who warns them about the Soul Master's erratic and aggressive behavior ; and confesses the many crimes the pair committed to further their research in Soul. He begs the Knight to end the Soul Master's suffering and release him from the Infection.

• After the Soul Master is defeated he will begin screaming and erratically teleporting around the arena before Ivan's spirit appears to comfort him. Ivan nods gratefully to the Knight before the pair disappear. The Soul Walker charm is left behind, which grants the player an additional soul vessel in exchange for health. Additionally, the Soul Master and Ivan can later be fought together in the Pantheon under the title of "Gods of the Sanctum".

• If the player did not speak to Ivan's spirit before the fight, the Soul Master will be defeated as normal and can later be fought again as the Soul Tyrant.

• The first model is Ivan before receiving his prosthetics. He cannot stand and his legs and left arm are always bent.

BACKSTORY

Noa was born in a rural, rudimentary settlement near the Howling Cliffs, built by a small community of Maggots looking to escape a life of slavery in the heart of Hallownest. Despite the settlement being very impoverished compared to neighboring towns Noa was graced with a happy childhood and joyful memories, surrounded by a doting family and kind neighbors and friends.

Still, she also grew well aware of the stigma associated with her kind and the disdain many had for it. The life of hard labor many Maggots were condemned to, if they could not escape like her family had. The illegal (yet quietly tolerated by the powers that be) slave trade. The despair.

This knowledge fed a dream in her to fight back- a dream further fueled by rumors of another Maggot in the past, taking up arms to protect his siblings. As a young teenager she began practicing combat ; training herself ; strengthening herself. She worked herself to the bone to get stronger. She found an old, discarded armor and cleaned it. She brought it to a Menderbug to repair it ; and the same Menderbug would later add adjustments to the inside of it so it would better fit her. She got stronger. By the time she became an adult she had already left the nest and was traveling the breadth of Hallownest, looking for ways to help less fortunate Maggots.

At some point she met Lance, and the two would form a deep bond with each other.

BACKSTORY

In a post-Infection Hallownest, Lance was born from the union of a Mantis Warrior and a Knight of the Mosskin Tribe. While both of her parents were entirely caring and loving, she had to live with her father in the Mosskin tribe as, due to being a hybrid, she was considered an outsider to the Mantises. As such she could only spend little time with her mother and grew up wishing she could get closer to her.

Trained in the fighting arts of the Mosskin tribe, she would end up leaving the nest upon reaching adulthood and set off on a personal quest to find purpose in her life. Along the way she would run into and befriend Noa ; later forming a deep bond with her. The pair would later meet Liege and Sareem and the four would begin traveling together across Hallownest.

Curious and driven by a thirst for knowledge, Liege felt compelled to explore the kingdom and meet its many peoples.

He would soon run into Sareem and join him in his sightseeing journey, delighted to find someone with the same desire for discovery and knowledge.

BACKSTORY 

Sareem hails from a far off kingdom ; one where bees are purple and live alone rather than in a hive. This solitude however did not suit him, pushing him to set off on his own journey across many lands, enventually finding his way to Hallownest. He was astounded by the sights and local flora and delighted himself in the exploration of this new land, soon meeting Liege ; another explorer with a similar taste for exploration ; and begin traveling with him.

While he looks imposing to many bugs, he is a pacifist at heart and a gentle giant, only carrying armor and a nail to defend himself. This does not mean that his combat abilities are lacking however- far from it. He has had years of travel across dangerous lands to sharpen his skills and nail...

BACKSTORY

A young, lonely bee from The Hive, cast out of her birthplace due to her atrophied wings and inability to fly. Ironically, this banishment would end up saving her life as it kept her safe from the plague that took over most of her kin.

Using her wax nail and grappling hook and relying on her speed and agility, Vivi traveled across Hallownest in search of a new home. It wasn't until reaching Dirtmouth that she found safety and, more importantly, people willing to welcome her among them.

She quickly befriended Noo and the two began living in the same house as roommates, alleviating Vivi's loneliness and Noo's general nervous disposition. Vivi regularly accompanies Noo on their digging excursions and keeps watch as they work to make sure they're safe.

BACKSTORY 

A maggot who escaped a life of forced labour in the heart of Hallownest and made their way to Dirtmouth, where they took up residency in one of the many empty houses. Although they consider themself cowardly and rely on Vivi's protection anytime they have to leave town, they can show bravery when needed and are always willing to help. They can often be found digging in the dirt around Dirtmouth, under the Howling Cliffs and near Crystal Peak. They make a living by selling their findings to travelers.

• During their escape, Noo found and drank liquid from a Lifeblood coccoon, which granted them the protection to make it to Dirtmouth safely. They kept one of the Lifeblood flowers as a souvenir.

• The items they sell include "Lost Geo" (Geos lost by another adventurer, sold for the exact amount they are worth) and "Shiny Rocks" (Items holding no in-game value other than granting the "Geologist" achievement once all 7 colors are acquired). On rare occasion Noo will sell "Discarded Charms", which are useless as is but can be washed in a hot spring by the player to reveal the charm's power.

Liveblog: Wakfu Season 2 (episode 17)

I find myself liking Eva a lot, during this rewatch, because I really am realizing that Eva&Joris is a very interesting and insane duo to consider.

If Ankama was wiser, they'd make them friends explicitly. Oh well.

Joris watching Adamai say this (Adamai is living through his worst nightmare of the person who loved him dying and coming back without memories, this time for real): 😬💀🚶‍♂️

This seems like some sort of waiting room for the meeting, judging from the fact that all the participants (as well as Grougal, but, to be fair, he's like a baby, it's logical that he'd be present with him until the very last possible moment, before being passed on to babysitters.)

I think it's interesting that Joris is sitting quite neutrally, looking exactly at Adamai and Armand, while Qilby is turned fully towards him.

...Studying him, perhaps?

Judging from the fact that Qilby was appealing to Sadida royalty by having studied their texts, and claiming to have met their god, he seems interested in learning more about people — maybe to manipulate, maybe simply curious.

Considering Qilby's connection with dragons and millions of years worth of memory, I could wager that he can feel/see that Joris is a bit weird.

(I know I am reading way too much into this, but let me have this lmaoo.)

This is why I find it quite fascinating that Qilby (interested in studying people around him, maybe seeking an advantage) is telling Joris (an old, dragonized Bontarian deligate) about a dragon that razed Bonta before Joris was born (Arty (Goultard's Dead Dragon Husband)).

Trying to gauge if Joris is secretly a dragon? If he knows that dragon? Trying to gauge his age? His opinions? Hmm???

This is one of the most short and uninformative Joris one-liners in the whole franchise. He's so epic for the way he dodges saying anything here.

Considering the fact that Joris is 1. pretty gullable, actually, 2. generally distrustful of people he doesn't know, especially royalty, 3. sounds pretty happy about this interaction here, I think Joris's opinion of Qilby is "this is a foreign leader, and the whole thing is going to cause a lot of issues. Eliatropes' happiness is worth it, though, and also he seems nice enough. But we are not friends."

Basically, I think Qilby has Joris on his side hook, line, and sinker. Lmaoo.

Kerubim has canonically been to Trool fair and he LOVES fishing for quaquacks, and we know this from the anniversary map commentary (despite his painful and traumatic memories from episode 48 of Aux Tresors de Kerubim. He talks in the MMO about being uneasy about quaquacks since then.)

I love this so much. He's been dealing with politics for centuries, and he's so fucking angry that he allowed himself to slip up and say something antagonizing.

This is a bunch of rich people who have not known orphanhood or living in squalor in their entire lives, talking about putting children in mines, and trying to pass off a bunch of children who lost their parents in a war like a hot potato. And one of them, from a country that his country fucking hates, says that this might lead to a war.

I think Joris, with his life story and opinions and the tragedies he's witnessed in life, must be thinking things much harsher than this. Just a hunch.

While I have issues with season 4, I do like that there was some moral ambiguity to the world leaders: with hindsight, I think we can say pretty easily that Brakmar's concerns are quite valid, even if false this time.

As I've said — Joris, like Yugo and Adamai, thinks pretty simply that everyone should always do good things, and that it's so so simple to be good — you just give people what they need! :) It's literally so so simple.

And that's how he, after becoming the ruler of Bonta in Waven, got to the point of having: cannibalistic wars, using living beings as building material and weapons, having 999 prisoners of war, spies and guards everywhere, implied slavery, as well as—- [I am forcibly taken offstage]

Once again, Wakfu demonstrates that Bonta and Sadida are very closely aligned.

Masky/Tim Headcanons

hi hi, stopping by to say that I'm inspired and writing more and more! I hope you like it, sorry for any writing errors :)

My Headcanons Masky/Tim:

Appearance:

-This man is clearly tall, he is around 1.80 or 1.90 tall, he is not small like Toby but he is not bigger than Hoodie

-He and Hoodie are a great duo, they get along well because they know each other better. He doesn't like Toby very much, but he tries to respect him because he knows the boy's condition.

-"Where are my cigarettes?" This man has a smoking habit, are you mad? Smoke, Are you busy? Smoke, Are you observing something or someone? He smoked later. (Professional smoker your lungs ask for help)

-His voice is thick, rough and, but it can vary from person to person, never too gentle, just lower his voice to speak

-He obeys his leader at any cost, he always wants to be the favorite, not that he can't, he wants everything to be perfect, don't take it the wrong way, he knows when he's REALLY perfect

-He has a medium beard, and short straight black hair that is always well combed and never messy. He takes very good care of himself, after all, he really appreciates himself!

-Brown eyes, that's all he doesn't take off his mask much, maybe only around Hoodie but nothing more

-There are moles on the face and body, it is common but they are not attractive, well hidden after all

Well-being and Unwellness

-Bom Tom is not the same person as Masky so his tastes vary between different things, like one likes music the other doesn't like it much, he has two personalities within him, he has difficulty knowing what he likes or not.

-Being alone, something he really enjoys as he tends to not be good socially (None of these guys are after all)

-He doesn't like to share, he could be talking to Hoodie and Toby bothers him and he will get stressed or leave or probably have a fight

-Women, he doesn't know how to act well, he's never liked anyone, but if it happens it won't be long before a disappearance occurs, he knows how to make plans that won't fail for anything.

-Fairly though, he hates losing in basic things like board games

Toby: "No, to be honest I don't even know how to play this"

Work:

-He took the missions extremely seriously so you don't want to get in the way or else something will get ugly between you and Masky

-He doesn't always have a straight face, he knows how to smile, he just doesn't do it a lot

-He likes animals, but he wouldn't have a pet because he doesn't have time to take care of it, the pet would end up dead or something like that

-Good at disguises, if he needs to become a teacher he will do it and always do it perfectly so that the mission is completed without any hesitatio

-"Damn, what did they do to my car!"-he is jealous of anything that is his, including people, cars, objects or even pens

A/n: Told you guys another fic would be out today (I love Hamilton) (if you watch Hamilton what’s your favorite song(s) mines are satisfied & Non-stop), you guys i wrote this with the worst stomach pain im gonna fucking die

—It almost felt like a reward every single piece of it. Starting with the fact you were apart of the straw hat pirate crew. Luffy claimed that you were all the best including you. most of the time dismissing him with a smile and a small “thank you!!” Then going back to your books and writings. thinking back to the fights you’ve been though you were grateful for having your powers what was more important was knowledge knowing every single piece of information that you found valuable was important to you and you would do anything to obtain it. Even if that included staying up late at night sleeping all during the day which at first no one thought was odd just assuming you were like Zoro. At night was when you did your true calling the most knowledge obtained from the Stars making charts, maps, and hypothesis’s about the moon and why does it change every single night. Mind running through thousands of ideas on how. Most of the time you would ire yourself out so much that you would fall asleep on deck but someone would always awake in the night to check most of the time it was Sanji and Zoro. Whenever Zoro found you he would grumble stings of curses out of his mouth when he saw you. He didn’t understand why you would leave yourself out in the open just to get more information about the stars but he would rather die then let you sit out in the cold. Sanji was the same way he would find you most of the time after Luffy tries to sneak into the fridge and he can’t go back to sleep. Tonight is no different from the rest your slumped on the deck your book is closed secure so the wind wont open it with little bits of pages sticking out of it your notebook stacked on top as well. Sanji & Zoro both cant sleep tonight instead of arguing with each other the just drink and get to know each other better. Surprisingly there laughing together playfully bantering each other when Sanji’s expression changes and goes outside Zoro doesn’t know what he’s doing at first but then it clicks in his head you were probably asleep on the deck again. He follows Sanji out the kitchen door seeing Sanji picking you up bridal style already you look peaceful its like your boy knows that Sanji’s got you and that your safe. While he’s climbing up the stars when he passes zoro he stops “Can you get her books I would usually would get them but your here to help me this time”. He wants to roll his eyes but he can’t and for once he just listen maybe it’s the alcohol flowing through his system or maybe he knows how important your books are to you it’s your dream. During the day most of the time nami watched over you she would distract from your books claiming how you both needed a break. Dragging Ussop(he wanted to go) as you guys al go shopping and play a little dress up. By you guys its mostly nami and ussop finding clothes to give you and you to try on while they give you there opinions (Ussop has good fashion taste cant change my mind (u prob could but pls don’t). Nami Had this beautiful Long body con dress the base of the dress was a peachy pink with coral all over it the coral being in all different shapes the colors being blue, purple and ifferent shades of pink as well. “Go try it on it’s gorgeous and goes perfect with your skin tone ” taking the fabric from her hands you go to the dresseing room sort of excited to try it on. when you finished putting you examined your self in the mirror in the dressing room it was the perfect length on the floor but not enough to drag on your feet to annoy you but it hugged everywhere and it just felt perfect you didn’t really care if you have to go into debt for nami to buy this dress it would be worth it. While opening the door holding your hair in a low pony with no ponytail holder some curly staying in the front. Nami and Ussop mouth dropped to the floor when they saw you “What is it bad” you confidence going down slowly but it accelerates when nami says “It’s perfect on you we have to buy it it was literally made for you” you smile at her thanking her for the compliment “I agree it’s an amazing dress for you”.

—When going back in the dressing room as you put your other clothes on thinking what would Zoro and Sanji think about the dress you shiver at the thought of the reaction and shake it from your mind. When you guys head back to the ship it’s not loud and that worries you automatically as you speed up your pace to the going merry. Going to the kitchen is ur first stop and it was correct. You see Luffy, Sanji and Zoro all cooped up around something but you don’t know what “HMH” clearing your throat to get their attention. The all look in shock not expecting you to be there. Luffy hides the object behind his back “We thought you guys were still shopping?” “Well we're back now” You look at all three of the they seem nervous. Luffy is sweating hard “What do you have behind your back Luffy?” “Nothing” You don’t believe him so you place the shopping back on the counter and sit at the table with them “What’s the problem guys you seem nervous did i do something wrong?” They all looked at each other silently communicating “No we just don’t want you to get mad at us” it was really confusing why would you get mad? “I won’t promise” Luffy looks at you one more time just to make sure he brings the object in front of him and on the table it’s your book your book with everything in it. Danny is smart. He figurines out Skulker is tied to Tucker’s PDA schedule and learns how to communicate with the gorilla.

Danny shivers in sleep when his ghost sense activates, but doesn’t wake up. 

According to Tucker’s schedule, Danny should be done catching ghosts by 9 PM.

The Ghost Gabber takes sounds that ghosts make and translate them into words humans use. It adds “fear me” at the end regardless of what the ghost said, their tone or intention. It only translates when a ghost is speaking. When Danny says “Boo” it translates it to “I am a ghost”, despite the fact that it translate his other sentences literally, by repeating them. It has two, long, green lightbulbs at the top that constantly blinking and beep when turned on.

SDRA2 Chapter 3 is the chapter of the game everyone either loves or absolutely hates, or has a love-hate relationship with. It's the one with the Otonokoji Twins front and center of the murder case and its outcome, so of course I'm going to have something of a bias towards it myself even though I can pinpoint a slew of problems in it, many of them being severe unforced errors on LINUJ's part, that ultimately makes it fall victim to the typical Third Case Syndrome by the end.

And I bring it up now because of a post I read that ranked it dead last among all Danganronpa + Fanganronpa third chapters, for reasons that seem about right and also for reasons that seem (to me at least) completely wrong. And I really don't think it deserves that placement since I feel V3 and even DRA did a lot worse in their third chapters.

That’s no exaggeration. LINUJ has stated that his ideas for this chapter of SDRA2 changed after he saw V3′s, which gave him the inspiration for this part of the game.

Uh, not quite. I think this is a misrepresentation of what he said. When LINUJ created Hibiki and Kanade, he had them as the Double Blackened of Chapter 3 in mind from the start - that was to be their main purpose. The only thing that changed about Chapter 3 as we got it versus what he'd initially came up with was how Kanade's villainous nature was revealed. The twist that she was the truly evil twin fixated on secretly controlling and abusing her sister was always the plan, but the extra twist that she was a psychopathic serial killer with a high body count who was obsessively infatuated with her sister and had even killed their parents was added in because the similar twist done with Korekiyo in V3, for some reason I do not get, impressed LINUJ and made him want to do his own version of that.

Not only is this the worst Chapter 3 out of them all, this is honestly one of the worst pieces of media in anything Danganronpa-related that I’ve ever seen. I mean that genuinely, not out of anger, but out of disgust and disappointment.

Pure emotion-driven hyperbole. When Ultra Despair Girls' third chapter, V3's third and its final chapter, this game's final chapter, and the entirety of the DR3 anime exist, this doesn't even come close to scratching the surface of All Time Worst Stuff In Danganronpa.

First of all, this trial is too long. I can accept that trials would need to go on for a while in these circumstances, but six hours? SIX HOURS?! And most of that time is spent with Kanade arguing with Syobai over small, petty details. There is so much that goes on here that can only be explained with either heavy-handed exposition or handwaves of “Fuck you, she’s smart” or “fuck you, I’m lucky.”

YES. That actually might be my biggest gripe with this chapter, and it's one I have about Chapter 6 as well. The trial drags on and on and on for so long, it just wipes you out by the end, so it ends up harder to enjoy stuff you otherwise might've enjoyed better and it makes the problematic areas that much more frustrating. Three to four hours to complete one of these trials is the most I'm willing to spend. SIX is pushing it far beyond the limit. Initially, I'd thought Chapter 3 might be my second favorite case in the game behind Chapter 4, and it is the first case where I actually game a damn about the victim of the murder, but that goddamn Class Trial just holds it back too much.

When Kanade and Hibiki (in her puppet state) murder Setsuka, they stab her with such synchronized timing, milliseconds apart, that Monocrow can’t even decide which happened first. And this was never addressed or shown at any point beforehand, just vaguely referenced here and there. If there had been similar scenes with Kanade and Hibiki demonstrating their synchronization, even just one or two, I would’ve been more willing to believe it.

Wasn't the entire deal with Kanade and Hibiki that they're basically the Ultimate Twins Duo? Hibiki's the vocalist while Kanade's the guitarist, and the two of them perform as a pair in perfect harmony and synchronization with each other, regardless of how dysfunctional their relationship is outside of their work? If Hibiki's singing and Kanade's guitar playing are normally perfectly in sync, I don't get why it's suddenly this super huge stretch to believe they could stab a body in perfect sync. Their whole shtick set this up. Admittedly, it would have felt a lot more sensible without that "puppet state" thing...

Likewise, another element of Kanade’s murder plot is that she’s apparently good at throwing. I’m a bit more lenient toward this one, as I recall there might’ve been a scene where she was throwing darts and Hibiki was like “She’s the best at darts!” It’s not much, but it’s better. 

The dart throwing scene happened in this very chapter. Still wish there'd been a little bit more to it, though. Like if Kanade needed Hibiki to keep her steady as she thrusted her arm to throw, and this again would work better if Hibiki was in a more right state of mind.

Kanade, who manages to be both a ridiculous genius and completely incompetent at the same time. She describes herself as a perfectionist and makes sure to think about every detail of her plan beforehand, from timetables to which handbooks they need, every shot she needs to make, every tool they need, etc. And yet she leaves behind a bottle of antibiotics. One that proves to be a crucial piece of evidence in incriminating her. If she were really meticulous, she could’ve taken stock of everything she’d brought in her medical kit beforehand and then checked to see if she had it all before they left. But she didn’t, and it’s even acknowledged that it was a stupid mistake.

OK, this is the biggest fallacy out of this post I wanted to address. This acts as though Kanade leaving behind something that would serve as an incriminating clue was a careless, stupid error by Kanade that completely contradicts the narrative of her as some evil genius perfectionist who's always many steps ahead of everyone because she is so thoroughly meticulous and precise in her every thought, word, deed, and objective. Except...it wasn't. This is what set up a huge twist in the case that unfortunately contributed to the trial's monstrous length. This was very deliberate. Kanade, whether consciously or subconsciously, dropped that antibiotics bottle where she did for any one of the investigators to find so that if any one or more of the other students were smart enough, they'd put together the truth and it would lead them right to Kanade herself. That way, they'd all vote for Kanade as the Blackened who murdered Setsuka. And it would've been classified as a wrong vote because it was both Kanade AND Hibiki who stabbed Setsuka to death. Everyone else, including Mikado, would be executed while only the twins would go free. Kanade planned for the eventuality that she might get caught, and made damn sure that the emphasis was placed on that SHE might get caught, with everyone none the wiser of the part she'd had Hibiki play in the murder. That's why Sora realized something didn't feel right and they couldn't do a vote yet even when Kanade's guilt had been fully established. It wasn't Kanade being incompetent or not a genius, it was her being the Riddler playing a 4D Chess gambit that successfully nearly fooled everyone into thinking things were going to go a certain way when it actually would get them all killed.

Add to that the pins that they needed that also got them incriminated. Where did they come from? The bags Hibiki stuffed into her shirt to pad her chest and make herself look like Kanade, which contained Setsuka’s disembodied hands.

That part was weird. The whole "dismemberment and then moving the dismembered body" angle in the murder is a double edged sword because it makes the crime, who did it, where it was carried out and how it was carried out so difficult to determine, which made it a nearly perfect crime on Kanade's part, but it also means figuring that shit out lengthens the trial way too much. A lot of fat in how the body was taken apart and how those parts were moved where, by what, and at what time should've been trimmed so that the pace would be hastened considerably and we could move on to what matters more.

Setsuka’s death is absolutely horrifying and works in the moment, but things like Kanade’s reveal of being a serial killer, while foreshadowed decently, are only really effective on a first viewing. The more you think about it, the less it actually makes sense and the more it hurts both her image and the logic of her plot.

I don't think the reveal of her being a serial killer was foreshadowed decently, or at all. There was plenty of foreshadowing for Kanade being a villain, but not a serial killer. And yeah, it never really made sense in the moment and it only gets more nonsensical the more thought you give it. Her exaggerating, embelishing and straight up making shit up to fuck with people honestly makes more sense.

And I’m going to be genuine about this: this chapter is also guilty of serial killer glorification. It doesn’t matter if it frames her in a negative light or paints it as horrific, this was LINUJ trying to make her as shocking and horrific as possible, but also making her into a genius who gets everything she wants at the expense of all the people she’d hurt. The narration goes out of its way to refer to Kanade as a genius multiple times. And the fact that she was the second most popular character in a poll really shows what I’m talking about.

This is clearly a hangup that this person has. I noticed that they don't have a lot of fondness for the more morally black characters in this franchise and doesn't care for the "Evil Is Cool" trope when applied to sadistic murderers, calling it "glorification" here. Given my noted villain love, I don't feel the same. Kanade being an evil genius who applies herself to nigh perfection at everything she does and ends up claiming victory even in defeat makes her an impressive, almost twistedly commendable character as much as she is a despicable, horrific and vile person. That's why she's so popular; she earned it.

To be clear, I don’t like how much focus Genocider Syo gets in the canon games, especially with how they’re played for comic relief more than anything. However, the difference is that Toko actually has a character that grows and develops beyond Syo, Syo doesn’t actually kill any of the main characters (still highly questionable but given how desperate the Tragedy is, I can accept that) and it’s made pretty clear in UDG that even she has some humanity in her. Syo has a sense of decency and compassion, shared with Toko, that grants her some humanity. That is not the case with Kanade, who is a monster through and through.

See what I just said about a bias against morally black characters.

Kanade, by contrast, is not capable of unconditional love; she’s an incestuous, manipulative, stalking, psychopathic control-freak.

Sure, but being a narcissistic psychopath incapable of unconditional love isn't necessarily where all that other stuff directly flows from. Kanade wanted to love Hibiki and for Hibiki to love her since they're like each other's mirror image, but Hibiki's insecurity and envy of Kanade got in the way and made her lash out, driving Kanade's want for her sister to be her special someone to the point of obsession, all because the girls' parents were negligent as fuck and concerned more with raising two Ultimates who could gain them credit and money than nurturing two people who were part of their family. LINUJ tried to push the "Kanade's a demon" angle, but much like Monaca Towa, there's still an inherent humanity to her backstory and in all the factors that shaped her into the monstrous person she is.

Additionally, Kanade’s death isn’t true justice, it’s her getting to die with a smile on her face knowing that she ruined countless lives and has her sister die with her too.

As I've said before, yes and that was the whole point. Executions of the Blackened are never meant to be "justice" in this franchise, and this is one where it's played up as an unarguable injustice. Kanade is beyond the mentality and emotions that would put her in despair at the prospect of getting brutally killed alongside her twin sister, and the fact that said twin sister is despairing over it right there with her is what gives her the greatest rush of joy she could hope to go out on. And as she ensured that she and Hibiki were in perfect sync when they killed Setsuka, thus ensuring they'd both have to be voted for as the Blackened in order for it to be correct, there was never a chance left that Kanade could lose here. If it makes you feel disgusted, disturbed, uncomfortable and frustrated, good! It was meant to! You don't have to like it for that, but you do need to take it as what it is.

Fuck this chapter and what it did to Hibiki.

If by "what it did to Hibiki" you mean stripping her of any agency in her role in the murder mystery and trial, and making her suffer the worst despair with absolutely no attempts at comfort from anyone around her because they all act like she was equally guilty of the murder even when she wasn't then yes, absolutely fuck that shit.

If you mean killing her off? Well, I already covered that.

She was the biggest victim in all of this, even worse than Setsuka. At least Setsuka wasn’t aware of what was happening and died before she was chopped into pieces. Meanwhile, Hibiki not only learns that she’s partially responsible for it, she gets next to no sympathy from the rest of the cast for what happened, then learns her serial killer sister has been killing and torturing people her whole life to isolate her. And then gets to learn Kanade killed their parents before being dragged off to their double execution, screaming for help the whole time.

I like that she did at least fight back and bludgeon Kanade during the execution and try to set herself free rather than just take it. Problem is that it now kind of doesn't match up with her earlier demeanor over what all had just happened and how unready she was to face death.

And this was after a ton of character growth and development I was far more interested in and impressed with. When I saw this chapter play out, I didn’t see a tragedy with her or an engaging villain, I saw a frustrating shock-baity twist that left me disgusted, confused and annoyed. Two great characters died to glorify another shitty repetition of the serial killer plot beat, and somehow Kanade is the one who gets all the attention and all the popularity.

Already covered why Kanade came out of this so beloved and well remembered, but I also have to address this idea that Hibiki's character development getting thrown away with her life is a huge affront to the characters and the story that needn't have happened. As I've made clear, Hibiki and Kanade were always set to kill together and die together, so what you ought to be blaming LINUJ for here is giving Hibiki that character growth and setting her up for further development she'd end up not recieving. If he knew in advance that both these girls had to be dead by the end of Chapter 3, he should've written both of their arcs in a way designed to lead to that point rather than have one of them seemingly going in a different direction only for her to get dragged back in the direction of her sister's plot.

And to make matters worse, she was actually planning on framing Iroha. Iroha. A girl whose only real method of attack is crying and pushing someone off a balcony. Did she seriously think anyone would buy that she not only killed Setsuka, but dismembered her and set her body up in a weird way?

Another stupid part of the trial that ought to have been exised, though I will say that the "pushing someone off a balcony" part didn't happen yet and the very fact that Iroha was a member of Void, thus expected to attempt murder at some point, adds a layer of irony to what Kanade was trying to pull there.

Not that it matters, since her attempt at framing Iroha- knocking her out with spiked coffee- failed because she doesn’t even like coffee. This girl is not as meticulous or careful as she thinks she is.

Even a genius will have their off moments, especially a young one.

And no, I’m not going to say that all of this is retroactively justified by Sora having Divine Luck and that’s why all of this happened. That reveal coming at the end does not justify any of this by any means. Please do not use “Fuck you, I’m lucky” in place of “Fuck you, I’m smart.” Nagito playing Russian Roulette with 5 bullets and winning is not the same as Kanade being incompetent and Sora having a gut feeling that it’s not over yet.

But again, had everyone voted to convict Kanade as the Blackened due to her "incompetence", they'd all end up dead and Kanade would be scot-free with her twin sister as her puppet. So if Sora didn't have that "gut feeling that it's not over yet", you get a Bad End. That's how the Divine Luck saved not just Sora but everyone besides the twins.

But do you want to know what the worst aspect of this Chapter 3 is? I could maybe overlook all the other details- all of them- if this weren’t the case. It’s how completely irrelevant this chapter is in the greater story.

Unfortunately yes. Chapter 3 always tends to be the least relevant to anything and does the least to advance the overarching story, but this one ends up taking it a whole new extreme level. Kanade setting fire to Setsuka's letter and us never learning what Setsuka had found out and written in it sort of symbolizes the whole deal. Nothing was gained by anyone in-story from this ordeal, we're just left with three characters less than the cast we began the chapter with and a darker, more untrusting and unsettled atmosphere going forward.

But SDRA2′s? It feels like a completely separate story shoved in the middle of the existing one. Kanade has no connection to the Voids or Mikado, not to Utsuro, not to the Despairs, not to any outside groups, not to Hope’s Peak, not even the Tragedy itself plays any role in her character. All she wants is to control Hibiki, and she only did all this because she was losing that control.

If I recall, that really was LINUJ's whole idea. He acknowledged that Chapter 3 always stands as "the midway point" of any DR story, as that's where the first half concludes and the second half begins, so he wanted to present a case with a worthy mid-game culprit and something that clearly marked the first half we'd played through as distinct from the second half still to come, those distinct factors being that we didn't know much about Void in Half 1 but they're far less shrouded in mystery in Half 2, and that the Otonokoji twins are around for their own little sub-story arc for Half 1, and they're not in Half 2. Kanade as a villain with no connection to anything else took care of both those distinction needs. The problem is that LINUJ forgot to account for what the end of the twins' arc would actually do to impact the setting and characters in a way that would linger on enough to justify its whole existence, and to directly segue the events of the first half into the events of the second. It's just sort of its own little story that suddenly eats up all the focus in this chapter, then it goes away and things in the main story continue on as though it hadn't even happened. It's just a strange and disturbing detour.

When you peel away all the shock value, Kanade is ultimately, like every serial killer out there, a painfully flat and boring character with shitty motivations to be a shitty human being. Her entire personality revolves around her creepy obsession with Hibiki; there is nothing deeper there, and LINUJ has even said that Kanade would’ve killed herself if Hibiki died. I don’t find someone like that very appealing nor interesting.

You hate serial killers and really evil characters, so of course she doesn't appeal to you or interest you much. Others will differ, as we can scratch that "flat and borng" surface of that "shitty human being" to find something a little deeper and sadder in that creepy obsession with her twin sister, to make us ponder what might have been done to stop this person and possibly set them straight prior to tragedy.

I can name about three things: Hibiki’s puppet state foreshadowing Yuki’s transformation, the implication that more time had passed than they’d realized and her burning Setsuka’s note. The latter is the only piece of the story that actually feels like it connects this chapter to the others. But after Kanade and Hibiki are gone, they’re barely even mentioned and it’s clear how little impact they had.

I don't think any of those really work, especially Setsuka's note since there's nothing later in the story that lets us know what information she'd wanted to convey in it. Maybe LINUJ could've had Mikado been inspired by how Kanade almost had everyone fooled into making the wrong vote and that played a part in his plan in Chapter 5, as well as finding some way to link Hibiki to something that becomes more crucial in the end. Little things to make this an invaluable section of the story instead of a cul-de-sac that leads absolutely nowhere.

There’s also Iroha being revealed as a Void at the end of the Chapter, but that has nothing to do with Kanade and it really could’ve been placed anywhere, or even just left out entirely.

But the fact is that it was placed right at the end of this and is tied directly to how Iroha hadn't attempted a kill yet but was set up to take the fall for Kanade's murder in this chapter. That is one thing that Chapter 3 contains that needs to be seen to make sense of the stuff we get with Iroha in the later chapters.

What this means is that this is the only chapter 3 where you can skip it and miss basically nothing. Think about that: 1/6th of SDRA2- a full 16%- is completely irrelevant to the overarching story, all for the sake of emulating the worst part of V3. Granted, I don’t know how much better LINUJ’s original plan would’ve been, but I have my doubts it could be worse.

If you skipped it, you'd be left wondering where the fuck Setsuka and the twins went. Obviously. And I think DR2's Chapter 3 is just as fillery as this one, as the mystery part of it starts after Nekomaru is taken off to be healed and after it's over, Nekomaru's released from his care and back with us as a robot, which matters for Chapter 4. The entire detour with Despair Disease, Monokuma's movie, and Mikan's murders ultimately had no relevence, as while they do foreshadow things, they're never directly called back to once those foreshadowed things get their payoff. As for LINUJ's "original plan", there is one part about it that I feel would have been worse and so it's absolutely to the characters' benefit that he chose to forgo it in favor of a Korekiyo knockoff - originally, Kanade was going to reveal that she'd always hated Hibiki rather than being in lust with her, and that her goal was to make her suffer in despair and then die as the ultimate "fuck you" to her. Such a reveal would've been like "Really? You actually hated the twin sister who constantly picks on you, insults and demans you, bosses you around, and makes herself the center of everything you two do together? What a shocker! Never thought you had that in you!" It's way too expected and would've rendered the twins relationship into just a worse version of Hiyoko and Mikan. Kanade having fallen in love with the idea of a loving and obedient twin sister who she could treat like a pet and have power over was the more unexpected and interesting direction to take. It just needed stronger execution and less crazy serial killer nonsense.

Bottom Line is? LINUJ is a writer in desparate need of an editor, IDK.
