But after several posts from @saintjustitude and after how some people are constantly being harassed by anonymous, I want to write this.

In the name of beloved friends who are being insidiously attacked.

Spreading hatred and lies through anonymous messages is so disgusting. Spying on people and turning the good deeds of their sincere kind hearts into dirty tricks in your slanderous comments to fit your twisted point of view - this is disgusting!

Maybe you even believe your own slander, maybe you are unhappy or have been changed by a bad experience. And if you would come out under your own name, defend your positions with arguments, listen to the other side -perhaps then you yourself could be understood, you could be heard. There could be even some kind of compassion for your suffering.

But since you have chosen to spit your hatred anonymously, you deserve none of it.

Be warned, this community is dedicated to fighting slander and manipulation. We know it when we see it, and we hate it.

When people say they want stories without conflict, what they really mean, even if they can't articulate it, is that they want stories without lowbrow, in-your-face conflict, but an idiot like you who writes slop would of course never understand that. Go fuck yourself.

This is my first piece of hate mail on tumblr, so I choose to take that as a milestone, and in honor of that, will answer with serious consideration rather than just "block sender" which is my normal course of action on other sites.

First, I think you're wrong. There are lots of people who want low to no conflict, and they want it for different reasons. Some people just don't like to vicariously experience tension, and they'll have very different opinions from someone who wants conflict-less verisimilitude. Some people want conflict to be framed differently, not as the core of the story, but as an element that comes and goes in a piece. But some people are on a novelty-seeking media diet, while also having a media diet of lowbrow mass market action, and run into problems there.

Second, I am generally pretty happy with my writing. There's nothing that I've written that I think of as slop. Overall, I think my batting average is pretty good, actually, even when I'm writing conflict-driven action-heavy pieces. Some of this is just a focus on character and a love of the mundane, which I hope shines through, but hey, maybe it doesn't. But I also don't claim my work to be high art. In theory, it's a synthesis of two dudes with cool swords duking it out and nuanced character study. It's having my cake and eating it too. That's the aspiration, anyway. I want the same work to contain really awesome fight scenes and insightful chapters that cleave to either my own heart or that of my readers, and ideally those are the same chapter, though that's a hard trick to pull off.

Alright, now to figure out if you can block an anonymous sender after replying to them.

First of all, no I am not autistic. But you should be more careful using this word. Autism is a real illness, and people/families are suffering about it everyday. There's no way this can be used as an insult. Never.

I wonder if you have read my post till the end? (But probably not since you don't give a shit about my opinion 😁) Anyway, I've never said I was "anti" haladriel/saurondriel.

I was only giving my opinion on this ship, saying that I don't personally believe in a romance between Galadriel and Sauron. But as I already said, I do believe she felt something for Halbrand during season 1 (whatever if it was love, or a deep friendship).

For those you are interested, I've talked about it here (I won't detail my point of view all over again).

Saying that I don't see any love between these two characters do not make me an anti haladriel/saurondriel.

Don't give me wrong, but I've never spread hate towards this topic. And I respect and appreciate all haladriel shippers. I myself enjoy seeing beautiful fanarts or read fanfic/theories about this pairing 😊

And since haladriel/saurondriel was one of the main subjects of the ask, I tagged it. Nothing more 😉

But you know, you don't have to read my opinion if you don't want to. You are free to choose to read it or not, as I'm free to expose my point of view on the Internet. Even if you don't agree with me, I'm as legitimate as everyone else to express my thoughts about it. As for my art, no problem. I know I can't please everyone 😉 I'm fine with my own artstyle, but some artists aren't. And I kindly advise you to be more respectful next time. I've talked to enough artists to know how discouraging it can be to receive such hateful messages. It's OK to not enjoy some artstytles (we all have different tastes), but there are ways of criticizing. And it seems like you don't know what constructive criticism is... 😅

But I wonder... Do you really find my art ugly? Or are you jealous of my OC my dear? 😁

Welcome back, anonymous hater strongly suspected to be Tumblr user @ariawen! It's been a while, I was beginning to think you genuinely moved on.

As a refresher, this is most likely the person who sent me this message:

And that was on the same day that they left hateful comments on a friend of mine's post using alternate accounts that they immediately deleted.

Anyway, what's really strange this time is that this is in response to tags I left on a very new post that I reblogged within the past hour or two. At this point I suspect that this person is literally following this blog despite how angry my posts make them. Which is extra amusing, considering that in one of their messages they claim to have blocked me, clearly that isn't true. To be clear, I wouldn't fault anyone for feeling angry when seeing criticism of things they like, no matter how valid that criticism may be, but this is not a healthy or mature way to respond.

With that said, I'll freely admit that my feelings about episode 4 are a little more on the subjective, open-to-interpretation side. The most objective problem I could point to in that episode is its reliance on the "women enjoy shopping for clothes" stereotype. This issue is compounded by the fact that the character who expresses annoyance with this is Dante, who himself is depicted in clothing that is obviously very expensive, perhaps even bespoke. It's sexist, and it strikes me as a dumb interpretation of Dante.

Besides that, the catty conflict between Lady and Trish in the episode gave me a bad vibe that, admittedly, I couldn't explain very well if I was asked. I think the post that I reblogged earlier actually articulates the kind of trope that the episode makes me think of very well, despite not really intending to.

As for the Dante/Trish stuff, I don't know if they're meant to be taken as literal ex-lovers, but the dialogue seems to code them as such, if I recall correctly. Trish even calls Dante "baby" at one point. And I could totally understand how one could look past that, there are a lot of things to look past in this series, but it was more than I could stomach at the time.

Perhaps I will give the show another chance some day, since I do want to delve into the series' side media more. Then again, it's also possible that I will indeed quit Devil May Cry one day, I've certainly quit fandoms before.

But in either case, I won't do it because of an anonymous hater, no matter how dedicated they are. The only thing this person has managed to make me do is laugh.

Hi, I am actually currently going through a rewatch of it and taking notes episode by episode. I have advised the other two to watch/rewatch the show for this, though quite frankly, they have their own specific areas of expertise, and don’t really want too much involvement outside of that.

Void is only here to help me write aspects of the worldbuilding that relate to technology, and to help me use the right terminology, because she is studying computer science at college (and. there’s many hackers in the show). Utopia is only here to help me write duels, because she plays yugioh competitively at our local cards store and frankly is the best duellist I’ve ever met. We had intended to explain this today actually in the intros (I was just waiting to speak to Utopia’s about hers before posting it).

I am in control of the majority of the plot and character depiction and arcs, but I want to credit my friends because I could not do this without them. I understand I’ll struggle to do the lore aspects mostly by myself, which is why I said I’d be open to other writers joining, with the permission of my friends.

I am an english & psychology major. Yugioh has been my special interest for much of my life, and, although I’ve used a different name and different blog because I don’t want my prior works to be associated with this, I’ve written fanfiction for this fandom before, with little to no complaints. I am not trolling.

I find it fascinating that you assumed this project to be some sort of social experiment, before the first chapter is even released, before you’ve read any of it. I can only assure you, this is me and my friends having some fun, it may become more than that, but as of right now its just a plan. I’d say ‘don’t like dont read’ but there isn’t even a fic to read yet, you’ve sent anonymous hate over the mere concept of a fic you don’t think you’d like.
