Doing one of those note things for motivation (or notivation because notes lol)

25 notes - I do the dishes and clean out the litter box (done, for now... But these are Sisyphean tasks)

50 notes - I clean up around the house (I did a little cleanup, might do more later)

100 notes - I do a little work on my book (it still needs editing before I can publish it and write the sequel, but I'll do some work on that when my PC stops crashing)

1k notes - I start working on a video game in the Starbourne multiverse. A small one, like Undertale is to Deltarune. I'm calling it Saturn Robe which is an anagram for Starbourne, like Undertale is for Deltarune.

2.5k notes - I start working on my dream game, Starbourne. The one that's the reason I started writing in the first place. (If the small game isn't finished I work harder on that)

5k notes - I dedicate my time to taking care of myself/my partner/my family, and working on my dream game.

10k notes - I become a god in the Tumblrverse (this will not happen)

ok well, now that i've organized my thoughts and had a few days to myself to marinate, here's what i'm planning on doing with my blog. because let's face it; i overwhelmed myself, and i know it may not have looked that way bc i haven't been all that active ( but that's thanks to my wrist ) but every time i looked at my drafts and asks, i wanted to explode. so

i'm doing a complete cleanup

i'll be clearing up some of my followers, mostly people who've not shown interest, and people that are inactive. i'll be sb'ing just in case there's someone i do sb who wants to interact, they're free to refollow. so if i break mutuals but you wanna write, just refollow i really don't mind.

i'm going to be focusing primarily on plotted interactions from here on out. i think i made mention of this before but just in case, plotted is the best way to go. as well as that, asks will also be the best method of writing with me. i don't necessarily mind spontaneous stuff  ( unless i've specifically asked for it, like i liked a starter call for example )  but i definitely function better when it's pre-plotted, even if it's just a skeleton outline of a plot. something basic to get the ball rolling, it doesn't have to be anything extravagent or heavily thought out.

i've cleaned up my askbox and deleted things i didn't feel i had muse for. there's still plenty in there, but i'll be reblogging memes and stuff periodically. feel free to send me memes even if we've never written before, or already have multiple threads. i literally Do Not Care i love answering asks. just specify muse(s) if needed!

likewise, i'm going to be dropping a good chunk of threads, mostly stuff that wasn't plotted ahead of time. there's some exceptions of course, which i've already messaged people about, but ye. if i dropped something we had this doesn't mean i don't want to write with you, it just means that i wasn't feeling what we had going but i'm open to starting something new. also, as a note, i'd really prefer shorter stuff if possible just bc long threads take the wind out of me but i'm still very much open to writing longer stuff as long as you don't mind it taking me more time to reply.

i'll be making more effort to make the first move. more than likely just sending in memes whenever i see you reblog some, that sort of stuff. if you aren't ok with that, i'd recommend sb'ing me! ( or hb'ing if that's ur thing )

i'm making minor adjustments to my writing style  &&  formatting. so if it seems a little odd from time to time, it's just bc i'm experimenting.

i think it's safe to say that at the moment, my heaviest muses are my SVSSS characters ( Shen Qingqiu, Luo Binghe, Yue Qingyuan, Liu Qingge ), and my HSR characters  ( Welt, Aventurine, Dan Feng, Phainon, Jiaoqiu ). i'm absolutely open to plotting with other characters of mine, this is just something to keep in mind. i know it sounds bad i just can't help it sadflkjghdslfjk they're the loudest right now i fear

i think that's it? i'm making some minor adjustments to my muse list in a few, taking away some characters  &&  adding in some that i didn't have listed before. i've got to update links and shit too but i'll worry about that tomorrow LOL.

right so this actually got written last night but i forgot to post it, so here it is!

Fitting given the recent FGO news, but what are your thoughts on Takeru?

Bundling all these asks together because they're inseparable. Probably the biggest askbox cleanup I ever did in one go.

The short version of the answer is "Fate/Samurai Remnant is the story of a pair completely enamored with each other's least favorite parts of themselves."

Saber was a complete natural. A child too strong. His father quickly noticed that and exploited Ousu as Yamato's mightiest colonizer. All they knew in life was violent conquest until Tachibana taught them love and kindness. But Tachibana was uncritical. She didn't talk Takeru out of their bloody path. On the contrary, she chose death so that the walk would continue. She loved Takeru's good and bad alike.

Through Iori, Saber met a new world. A world where the weak had the option not to fight. A world where rice was easily accessible. A world that had no need for Yamato Takeru's journey, thus no need for Ototachibanahime's death. And there he met an intriguing man who still wanted to fight in a world where this wasn't needed.

In their interactions, Saber grows to envy Iori's rational acclimation to the peaceful Edo. The ability to find solutions that don't require violence. To strategize conversations. To not do things aren't virtuous. To sympathize and empathize. To read and understand the thoughts of others. It's by emulating this that Saber changes.

Meanwhile, Iori is a thinker. His exceptional rationality allowed him to weasel his way out of a village massacre, which lasted until Munenori inadvertently saved his life. After this whole time desperately using his brain to survive, Iori witnessed the easy way out. With a slash that looked like the moon, the sword saint survived without resorting to Iori's tiresome trickery. That absolute strength was the symbol of survival Iori saught.

He learned from Musashi (and Kojirou) for as long as he could, but ultimately couldn't learn all. Without completing Niten's lessons, Iori was left capable only of doing what he does best: thinking, reading, and adapting. He designed his Five Stances model and began fighting by switching patterns according to his circumstances. The opposite of the all-purpose survival mechanism that he began his training for.

Through Saber, Iori saw his original inspiration. Right in the prologue, Iori is already gushing about how Saber fights with the swordplay of a champion who doesn't read or respond to their opponent, letting only themself dictate how they fight, like they were the only one in the field. Saber can survive any situation with far less effort than Iori.

In their interactions, Iori grows to envy Saber's force of character as an unmalleable force. Their outstanding technique is just like the moon he saw at the night at the port. Iori can't feel at peace until he surpasses it. No matter how much of himself he must trim down, he needs to find raw all-purpose power (the Fire and Void Stances). Saber's ability to push through any challenge without as much as evaluating it. It's by emulating this that Iori changes.

The conclusion of Entreat the Darkness sees Iori defeated by Saber's successful read of him. The talentless Iori continuously relied on his "petty" tactic of studying his opponent, so when the talented Saber started pulling the same thing on him, it was so thoroughly hopeless that he had to laugh it off and accept he got as far as he could. Iori was pacified by his own lessons being repeated to him by the person who heartfeltly absorbed them, in classic Ciel route style.

Saber and Iori were born in the wrong eras. The latter would have been more self-assured in an age where he could prove and elevate himself in duels that put the limits of life and death to the test. The former would have been more happy in an age where they could feel assured their treasured companion(s) would last as long as they did.

But through the short time they shared, they got everything they wanted. Iori found satisfaction in finding that insurmountable that confirmed that he became the very best he could possibly be. Saber found satisfaction in gaining a companion through a much more gratifying journey than the unification of Japan.

The logical conclusion to my opening sentence is that Saber and Iori had the missing pieces to each other's puzzle, and sharing those made both of them whole.

Doing an inbox cleanup of old prompts that I was never able to get around to because I'd like to start fresh and remember how to write again, and that means finding an exciting spark with something new!! prompt if you still need: fernkit/paw wondering if she'll ever become a warrior and wondering why she's still in the nursery/just starting her apprenticeship while cloudpaw gets apprenticed first and becomes a warrior before the other cats that are older than him -- brightpaw and swiftpaw.

[according to canon, she's born in the summer at the end-ish of into the wild. she's not even an apprentice until the following summer of rising storm. her and ashkit/paw are full adults in the nursery.]

I just HAD to do this one since it's so goddamn funny. The Erins did my favorite timeline fuckup TWICE. GOD. Knowing them it's probably many more, actually. Diversity win! Due to authorial incompetence this character is now adult in primary education representation!

For the unaware, it's an important plot point that The Sight takes place towards the end of winter/beginning of spring, since the whole of the plot can be tracked almost day by day pretty accurately and only takes up about a single moon, with the climax at the Daylight Gathering which explicitly happens during the first full moon of the spring.

However, in Sunrise during the subplot in which Jayfeather goes snooping in Leafpool's business, it is established him and his siblings were born in... winter! Leafpool's Wish later on doubles down on this nonsense which has forever ruined my ability to take the parentage reveal investigation seriously. CLEARLY such a basic timeline fuckup must mean Jayfeather's memory is shit and not to be trusted.

Typically I ignore this when creating timelines for my work, but I do have the jokey headcanon that Firestar was so furious about the fox kits incident that he refused to apprentice them until they were grown-ass adults. lmao.

Anyway, enough of my ramblings! Let's go!

“Ashkit, don’t you feel like there’s something just... wrong about all this?” Fernkit asked with her squeaky kit voice from where she was observing just at the entrance to the nursery.

Her twin brother looked to her from where he was batting at a mossball, his head tilted to the side with confussion. “What do you mean?”

She frowned. “It’s just that, you know...” she looked out. “Cloudpaw is getting his apprentice ceremony, but wasn’t he smaller than us? And didn’t he get bigger just now?”

“When we woke up we were the same size,” Ashkit replied with a shrug.

“Maybe but shouldnt’ that mean we should be apprenticed as well?” Fernkit asked.

“Well, Bluestar didn’t say it was our turn to be appentices yet,” Ashkit said. “And mom says that we must obey everything she says. So if she hasn’t said we should be apprenticed we should just obey.”

Fernkit took in a deep breath as she tried to think how to explain the situation. “But aren’t we supposed to become apprentices when we reach 6 moons old? Didn’t we reach that a while ago?”

“I’unno,” Ashkit replied.

“We were already here by the time Cloudpaw joined the Clan,” Fernkit pointed out. “Shouldn’t we at least be becoming apprentices alongside Cloudpaw?”

“I don’t know what you’re worrying so much about,” Ashkit finally said as he turned around. “Cloudpaw’s going to have to do chores around camp all day now and we get to play instead. What do you miss so much about becoming an apprentice?”

As her brother tossed out his mossball and walked off, Fernkit was left alone with her thoughts on the matter. She couldn’t deny that there was some truth to what her brother was saying but it still left her a tad... unsettled. Wasn’t he ever excited about the idea of finally leaving the nursery? Of getting to know the territory and the world outside of camp? Of doing all of the things their adopted littermate would get to do?

Fernpaw shook her head, refusing to keep dwelling on these thoughts. Perhaps Ashkit was right and it wasn’t their time just yet. Perhaps being in the nursery would be for the best.

And so she followed in his lead.

You're welcome and oh wow, people from FLorida learning Slovenian because of Joker Out - I am so impressed at the impact they have!! One of the main reasons why jokeroutsubs even started was because of all the overwhelmingly positive comments on one of the first Tiktoks I did (the NGVOT Cvetličarna clip), where everyone was commenting what a beautiful language Slovenian is, and how they want to start learning it because of them!

Most animals! Dogs, cats, bunnies, deer and geese in my backyard, heck even birds, squirrels and chipmunks make me so happy to see. For the past 2 years of living at my house, I had this one chipmunk that would chirp on my deck and I called him "Chippy" and it made me happy every time I saw him.

MUSIC! Everything is better with music.

Hosting people at my house! I love having friends over and having parties and providing good food, drink and a good time! Even though I hate the cleanup after 🤣

Flowers and plants. Nature makes me so happy and I love helping things to grow. My partner and I had an empty garden bed and this year we filled it with a bunch of local wildflower seeds and it was so fun seeing what grew from them! So many pretty flowers with colors that the bees loved!
