Oopsie daisy, we accidentally spent almost 5 full hours in my room 🥴 damn I had truly planned on buying him a nice dinner after sex too

#dating nonsense #stoner romeo #5 hour bedroom adventure #that honestly would have lasted even longer if I hadn't reminded him for the third time that I wanted to get him dinner #granted it wasn't all sex #it was more like foreplay then sex the more foreplay then more sex #then a massage and then domming/edging him for a while then aftercare then more sex #then cuddling then a stark moment of our emotional walls being let down with some light tears and then more kissing #then coming back downstairs and realizing it was already 10:30 at night #so instead of dinner I gave him the fancy dessert i bought for him earlier #then he headed home #i feel good but it was scary to be that emotionally vulnerable for even a little bit at the end #but it's not going to scare him away #and it's strange to feel confident in that #strange but good (and a little scary)#and like once again i have to question where the line is and how I'm supposed to not fall for someone who makes me feel so valued/cared for #and someone who allows themselves to be vulnerable with me as well #he talked a little bit more about his wife #and how sometimes he feels guilty for enjoying being with other people after her death #and thinking about how he wouldn't be doing any of it if she were still here #which is all very understandable to me #so anyway i have feelings for this guy for suuuuuure but I want to give him the space he needs to continue grieving/processing #and he's once again made it clear that he's planning on sticking around for the foreseeable future #i offhandedly mentioned something I like to bake in the winter time and he was like 'yum can't wait 😁'#told him it was so nice to not feel like there's a time limit or looming threat to our time together #I haven't really had that since... college? or maybe even ever?#yeah fuck it I'm in love #at least a little bit #and we have plenty of time for whatever will be to become what it is

#pickle pontificates #the murderbot diaries #hmm I'm very tired and my sleep schedule is threatening to go down the toilet thanks to daylight savings #so I'm going to resist the urge to write a lot right now #but I've been thinking a lot over the last two years about ''relatability'' and the value of fiction #(the latter is literally what my big-ish undergrad final paper was on)#(don't ask to see it i was under extreme duress and it sucks. them thoughts were not finished baking)#and these books a) feel personal in a way that's almost uncomfortable #and b) they touch on a lot of themes that have been heavily on my mind recently #I'm leaving it at that for now. there are many angles and I'm still thinking #also not quite done reading yet

Fontaine and Nate are a little more domestic in how they got together, while Ant and Kari have been chaos since day one of their friendship. I headcanon that Ant doesn’t have the most experience with relationships, due to growing up on a submarine with little idea how to talk to other kids his own age, let alone girls, but his parents and sister made sure he did not grow into one of those guys who’s insensitive to girls. Kaiko and Will made sure their son was a gentleman to women. Problem is, Ant was raised to be nice to women and not push himself onto them so much that he didn’t actually make a move when he realized he liked Kari. Because he valued their friendship so much, and heard firsthand about some of the less than stellar relationships she’d had and how jerky some of her exes were, so he just…didn’t say or do anything. He knew he liked her but didn’t immediately pursue anything because he didn’t want to seem like that guy who only became friends with a girl so he could date her, and then ruin their (at that point) near six year friendship.

Kari meanwhile has been trying to get this stupid boy to realize their last few hangouts haven’t been hangouts, and that she’s almost blatantly asked him out on a date three times in a row. She’s wondering if she needs to go so far as kiss him to get him to realize what’s going on.

And a Fontaine and Nate, because they’re also cute.

Dinner was a huge success, my mom LOVED it. Finally I got to boss her around by telling her to sit down and let me spoil HER for once without her trying to help <3333

It was extra fun cause I cooked her the signature family dish she developed when we were little but that I've developed further on my own since I moved out, and seeing how much she loved it really warmed my heart.

#also i always worry that what i cook is going to be inedible #despite the complete and utter lack of any negative feedback #and despite that even my super hard to phaze sibling and dad sing their praises #AND despite my gfs positive feedback in particular #i really enjoyed cooking and baking today though its so fun #its one of those things ive really come to enjoy ever since my health got worse #because its something i can still do at home that is also helpful to people i live with #who are inevitably going outside more than i am #idk i just finally understand why my mom loved waking up to make us breakfast growing up #she always says she valued being able to spend time with us and help us before leaving #(she was permanently disabled after a car accident involving a moose before i was born and could never work since)#and i feel that so hard now #i am rambling and tired but im so happy to have her let me return the gesture #idk what id do without her #silvi talks

Hobby Ideas

I am thinking about trying out new hobbies. I remember as a kid I used to crochet and knit. I was in elementary school and a couple of girls and I were really into it. We were even knitting and crocheting while in class and some of the teachers had to take them away from us until our free periods. It was so much fun! I haven’t tried it in over 20 years! My friend just sent me two yarns and a crochet stick thing and I’m so excited to get back into it! Maybe I can make my cat a sweater, that would be so cute.

I also want to get into baking more often. I’ll definitely should see if I can make some things without so much sugar.

Decorating has to be on my list! I still need to decorate my place and make it my space. I don’t know I’ve so lazy about it. I have a Pinterest board on how I would like my space to look like.
