THERE'S SEASONS OF THE DEEP GREEN?! /delighted

this might be a super basic question so let me know if you'd like something more specific, but could you like, outline the seasons for me? like, 1 or 2 sentences of pitch or summary each, kind of thing? I'd love to have the Shape of the story in my head so that the details can slot into it >:D

THERE ARE THERE ARE this is what happens when you've had this server since december 2021, lore has had time to accrue sdlkjsdg

in surprise to Nobody At All i've got a little playlist for each season, with songs in chronological order hitting the main lore events & emotional beats of the story (& trying to touch on all three characters' povs), so i'll link each of those too

SEASON 1 (playlist)

Season 1 begins with the founding of the Deep Green, when Icarus & Grond explored the cave system near spawn and did their zoning. Season 1's themes involve community, establishing relational ties, politics, & power dynamics, since it's when most members were joining, building friendships, and maybe partaking in a little bit of political treachery & blackmailing. 0:) The closing event of Season 1 was Sisyphus's trial and execution, following their accidental use of the "/clear all entities" command which resulted in the murder of every living thing. Literally nothing has been the same ever since that mistake.

SEASON 2 (playlist)

Season 2 covers Sisyphus's "atonement arc" (aka them gathering resources & animals for each player as an attempt at making amends for the murders) until their departure. Themes for Season 2 include magic (belief vs unbelief), trust vs distrust, and fraying relationships/unraveling ties. This is the season that the cavern began; Sisyphus began secretly growing skulk in a cavern under their house, Icarus began grasping for more stability & control over her friends, Sisyphus & Icarus's friendship started fraying, Kore found a camel, and the skulk situation kept escalating until Kore & Icarus staged an intervention because they were convinced their entire home was in danger. In response, Sisyphus decided to leave the Deep Green for an undetermined amount of time.

SEASON 3 (playlist)

Season 3 takes place during Sisyphus's absence. cc!Crim (the human being) spent these months working on a Secret Build somewhere else on the server, while Kore & Icarus were left alone on the Deep Green. Season 3 covers themes of reaching out to others vs isolation, absence & grief, fear vs paranoia vs support, and action/preparation/defense. Korus (<- Kore+Icarus's duo name) continued letter correspondence with Thalia* in hopes of finding more answers about the skulk/Wardens; they burned down the skulk in the cavern; they strengthened their friendship together once Icarus stopped grieving Sisyphus's departure alone in her house for like 3 months straight (<- the canonical explanation for cc!Elle taking a break from minecraft last spring XD); Icarus's paranoia continued to spiral/grow; and possibly most importantly, Korus made direct contact with the Magic. The Magic as a whole will take too much time to explain in a pitch like this, but Season 3's closing event was the "encounter" with the Magic when it directly responded to Korus's attempt at communication.

*Thalia is Crim's oc from the dream smp that they made, like, five years ago. XD through a series of events we canonized Thalia (& c!Elle & Bluebell, mine & rozu's dsmp ocs) in the Deep Green universe; Thalia & the other l'sonas live far away from the Deep Green post-dsmp-nuke-ending and Thalia writes letters to Sisyphus/the other residents sometimes. It's delightful and silly and I love it very much

SEASON 4 (playlist)

Aand this is where we're at now, babey!! We never know how long a season is going to be until some big event takes place and we all look at each other & look at the themes and go "hey guys. I think a season just ended and another one's begun." XD So I don't know the themes of Season 4 yet, but I might posit "forgiveness & grace" being one of them. The large events so far have been Korus following the Magic's direction beyond the Deep Green's walls in search of the source of the skulk (that's been continuing to spread in the Deep Green). They found Sisyphus, had multiple confrontations, went through Sisyphus's creepy memory-room labyrinth (<- the very epic build cc!Crim had been working on), got Sisyphus's painful backstory, and eventually reached the point where Sisyphus has returned, remorseful, to the Deep Green. Unfortunately during that process Icarus's and Kore's friendship has fallen apart yet again, so we've got the running joke that Icarus is apparently only capable of being friends with one (1) of her friends at any given time. XD So they're all still in the messy middle of things, but Caruphys (<- Icarus+Sisyphus's duo name) at least is slowly on the mend. We'll see where things will go from here. >:'D

originally, the guys (blue hair and white hair) were my personas/characters that i played back when i streamed but then i got distracted by wednesday and switched over to doing all this. Now they're my ocs! Meanwhile, the cloud personified? is my friend's

we've just been shipping the two together because its fine

Drai (blue hair) is a being who needs to kill to live. As in, he's sculk. If you know minecraft, there's this block in the later updates where if you kill a mob on it, it would grow from the xp absorbed. I took that idea and ran with it. So drai is iven sentience after absorbing what is essentially the 'life force' of the beings that died on him. Soon, he possesses a corpse and goes through life, adventuring and killing.

Until he stumbles across a stronghold and gets greeted by a god, Lati (the cloud), telling him to stay away from the portal and basically does their best to spook him. It doesn't work and they get to talking

they end up becoming roommates and catching feelings

except here's one unfortunate thing. Lati is a god, a god who has mentioned that they don't feel things the way people normally do and yknow, if you're a decent guy, you simply accept that it is what it is and move on. Drai tries to do so but unfortunately, his heart is too filled with their name and oh is it so hard to move on from a being so tied close to his soul.

Then he dies.

Its been a few lifetimes since then, maybe two? Since Drai has been seen around the smp Why? Well! Its because he's dead, kinda? Maybe? All you need to know is that he's gone, completely It was a tiny thing to note that Drai isn't human. He's sculk possessing a dead body after all, his conciousness a miraculous byproduct of absorbing too xp/life force of people from before. He's used to fighting, to absorbing more life during his troubles until he settled down in season 1. Except he never realized that it was xp keeping him alive and when he finally hung up the blade once in for all, he would take on the mantle of dead man walking too literally once more. Lati doesn't feel in a way people do, there is no indignant anger at the realization that they were losing Drai. Simply acceptance because isn't that what life is? For a concept, the laws of reality has always been something they've been intimately aware off but there's something that tingles in their chest as they stare at their dying … companion. Drai smiles alot. All crinkled corners at his eyes and teeth bared. Its a comforting sight, a routine for Lati to always see whenever they pass by the other in the dungeon hallways. There's an ache at the thought that there will be a time where they will see that smile for last time. They simple didn't realize it was that soon. Clearly, Drai didn't realize it either and when he did, it was far too late. (Lati didn't realize time passed that quickly, not till Drai stumbles like a puppet with no strings. A sack of potatoes dropping and hitting the floor in a sound that echoes around their head) Curse him, Lati thinks as she stares at the boy. He was practically a new born fawn with the way he stumbles upright, clinging onto the wall with a hand as his mortal mind finally dawns with reality.

"I think im dying," he says, a tremble in his voice as the revelation settles. "But- its okay," he tries to reassure, before his lips pull into that same stupid smile as if they were the one about to knock on death's door. "I always come back." He isn't wrong, Lati thinks. His origin as a parasite allows him some form of faux immortality but like all things fake, it could never hold up to the real thing. (But what if it could?) The thought is dangerous. Rules are made for a reason, to imply going against them…. Lati can't smile, they could never do it right and Drai laughs about it whenever it happens. It doesn't mean they can't try, it is only fair, no? To give the reassurance that Drai has always given them. This body's eyes squints, doing its best to do what Drai could do best and smile. They shake their head as their lips speak of a truth so bitter that it practically chokes at their throat. "Not this time." And yet, it leaves their mouth with an ease of someone that doesn't know how to feel. A calm sentence with no waver, no humanity, as if her friend wasn't going to leave soon, as if Lati didn't care. But, Lati doesn't feel. They never could so what was… As the day ends and the moon peeks overhead, the dungeons for once in forever is empty and Lati is given a realization. The emerald binding the two of them together glows on their chest, shimmering with an enchantment. Drai didn't know the significance of such a thing, atleast not the true extent. He was simply too nice to know what such a binding gift could do, as far as his mortal brain could comprehend, it meant that if they lost it, it would come back. Loyalty 3 shimmers as their thumb rubs against the galaxtic text. Drai may be gone, but it doesn't mean he has to stay so. They simply have to wait. After all, he always come back right?

anyways, that's godsculk. Simply a parasite in a mortal's body and a god falling in love

After that, we have Sacredgrounds.

See, drai dying brought grief for two lifetimes and Lati, a god who's desperate is willing to do anything. Even attempt to bring the dead back to life.

Except its delayed and the hope turns to pain. Its so bad that Lati physically changes from it, turning stormy at the loss of what's theirs.

Eventually, someone bursts out of a grave. Cain! (white hair) and he's actually the body Drai possesed. He doesn't remember much, only knowing half of what Drai has gone through but he does remember a Lati

but Lati looks different and she looks pissed after Cain ransacked their room for armor. Sure, they get confused for a moment, wondering why Drai looked so different but he's ..larger now. The scars a bit too worse and skin too pale compared to how it was before and it clicks that Cain isn't Drai's reincarnation but rather, an intruder.

it isnt until they see the emerald and feel the pull do they realize that wait a sec, is this.. Drai?

I basically saw a skin of a Minecraft character on Pinterest who wore that “sweatshirt and overalls” that they has and basically decided to put it on them.. In this case- they already had an outfit, which was this one:

But I decided to change it to the one they has now because I thought it was cuter and it suited them, and when I joined the Dream SMP fandom I even more wanted to put this outfit on them because “Tubbo” wore it once so I wanted to put it in honor of him💖 and also then I added the red bow to complete it because I thought it was cool, I added/changed the glasses(in the head) to complete it as well and.. Yeah, most of it was inspired by Tubbo's clothes and taste in “bees” ^^ (this information is not very official, but I think the bow Mel has around their neck was inspired by Tommy's, because most people drew him either with a red blouse or with a bow in the Dream SMP time, so maybe I was inspired by that too... or I don't know- I don't remember much akgzksb)

And the designs for the other characters I made randomly in Gacha Club.... Yeah.. I know it’s not an “exciting” story….... Because, fr, like- I was just making some characters to test Gacha more and then I ended up liking them and turning them into original characters of mine and that's it... Redid my reference sheet back in december! I'm still not 100% with their design tbh but im too lazy to do a redesign again! Also i cannot keep their wing size consistent it's horrendous. (Maybe at the end of the year ill redo it again ... a version 3 ... like its a tradition ...)

Edit: I've now turned this into a masterpost for my oc so have a summary of their stories!

Canon:

World setting: Quick explanation of the world bc it's important to understand why I wrote what I wrote. The world is basically the same as ours except with hybrids and magic and stuff (I'll shortly refer to this as just hybrids) and also better in the sense that people are more tolerant. Even though humans still make up the majority of the population, you'll rarely see any specism going on. I don't base the places where everything goes on on a specific country/culture, just how I see the world (though I definitely wouldn't say everything takes place in Belgium). SO to say it shortly, it's a happy world made for me to self-indulge.

Story: Fraos grew up on a farm with their dad. They are pretty well off, not millionaires or anything but they can afford niceties. Fraos is homeschooled by their dad who is pretty good at it. Their dad is a chicken avian like them and his name ... is David (I suck ass at coming up with masc names sorry). Once Fraos is 'graduated' from secondary (I am going to use the Flander's school system fuck you guys with ur highschool and shit) they decide they want to go to college and live on their own during that. They also wanna try and live off their own money, so while their dad provides the money needed to attend college and the first month or two of rent, Fraos gets 2 jobs. A day and a night job. the day job is working at a cat shelter, and the night job is working at a night cafe (idk if this actually exists but in the first itteration of the story it was a bar but that doesnt fit in with my current vision). The only reason they do 2 jobs it purely because they want to, even though 1 would suffice. At college they are studying photography, and then we are in the present day in canon. I hope that's a bit clear.

One thing I didnt mention is that their mom died when they were like 3-4 years old so I thought I'd say that real quick. Their mom was a snow owl avian

Alternate universes:

Okay so Fraos is in 2 alternate universes and 1 au that is kinda not an au but it's complicated, and I'm also going to add summaries to those stories here bc im on a roll anyway

Starting off the the au but not an au bc the other two aus are loosely based on this on. This is the story I have made with a couple of friends over the past like 4 years or so about our minecraft SMPs. We are on our 4th one right now, and I'll only be talking about that one bc Fraos wasnt a thing in the first 3, rather it was a different oc whom I killed off in the 3rd smp. I am however not going to explain the entire story and setting bc then I'd still be writing by tomorrow

Fraos goes through roughly the same stuff as in the original story, but instead of wanting to go to college they wanna go explore the world, so they do. Eventually at some point they get knocked out off the air by some wind and crash into a little camp. This camp is from a group of travelers who are searching for the Farlands, and Fraos decided to join them because it's a great way to explore. Eventually they all give up on their search, especially bc there are some elders who are on the verge off death. (I mean they do die somewhat but that's too long to explain and not important rn). they all settle near eachother, Fraos settling in a small mountain area. Semi important is that they arent used to being around other people so they may or may not spy on people to see how to act. Anyway and bunch of stuff happens and eventually a tech guy named Ximie wages war on the non tech people, which are Elmo Jr. and, well, Fraos. Somehow. I actually dont know bc we never write this shit out and it makes me forget what the consensus is. Anyway uuhmm sort of nuken and nuclear warfare blabla bla they all have to move bc their homes are destroyed fromm the war and they go to a desert (for some reason all of them idk). Fraos is really upset that their home got destroyed and is now trying their best to recover.

The next au is my from one to another au (https://archiveofourown.org/series/4077508). Just know that they're a wizard mage whatever and they lived on a ship before they docked long time in the primary location of the story. I made this design in gacha life 2 so here you go:

It's a bit outdated tbh cuz they DEF would not wear a skirt (i dont even know what that outfit is for anymore) but yeah. I cannot draw that hat for shit so this is all you get.

Here the story is exactely the same as the original, except they meet Smiley and everything. If you wanna know more just read it, but know 99% of it was written around or past midnight. I didnt write everything in chronological order and i keep procrastinating on making a list with everything in order sooooo just figure it out tbh

hope youre doing alright anon n sowwy for the late response, many things happened but also. took a bit to post this bc is like. both a tricky topic n actually quite simple, as mumbo would say,

first, lets go with the simple explanation n go from there,

because there's really.... not an specific order of viewing? since most of the "proper" lore hasnt been that prominent¹ until around s8 for hermitcraft, when moon big happened, so if you wanted to, you would start from the very beginning with grian from when he joined hermitcraft on season 6 (or if you want to go further back, evolution smp, since thats where the concept of The Watchers came from. more on that later) or just jump in the latest season on hermitcraft and slowly chip in the life series, starting from 3rd life up to the now wild life, since, technically, things are connected in the way they are referenced from past seasons and some past alliances also have some weight on how things go down

and. well, while is true that really, the biggest part of hermitcraft is watching these minecraft ppl play minecraft together as friends, as who they are, after some flame wars here n there, at least here on tumblr the community (HOPEFULLY) has reached the understanding that the way they act in the server, the ways they build n overall the little details and also when Big things happen, is more akin to them being improv actors; where minecraft is the stage and the skins are the costumes (which is further proved by miss pearlescentmoon calling her double life character a wet cat. i love her) so most of what they do can be attributed to the character, the cubito, even if there Is a layer of their irl selves there. like i mean, what is an oc but a fragment of the self, if we get a lil poetic

so basically, to get into cubito grian lore or Any of the hermits n life series ppl (which i highly recommend), is to have fun and be yourself! 👍

...more so since a Lot of the lore sometimes is like. fully fan made or fan-made-then-made-canon-....-kinda.

to be more specific on what i mean with that, let's talk abt The biggest thing of grian's lore: Watcher grian.

Watcher grian, the first part of this concept, was born from him leaving the evolution smp almost past half way it's runtime and becoming one of Us, the viewers, the Watchers of the smp serie.

it honestly doesnt go too much further than that for him, even if the watchers seen in the smp are kind of a character mixed in with the way they represent us... but anyways. grian left evo and turned into a watcher to see what their friends were up to in the server. he even said goodbye to the rest of the evolutioners in a modified end poem alongside two other watchers before joining us

the thing that is fan made is the rest of the details of what happened with grian After that, specially the thing of watchers being Evil™, him escaping them, that one specific watcher mask with the evo symbol on the middle and two spikes to the side, the purple cape, etc. But im not gonna get into that further in this post, is. a mess of its own.

the thing is, grian's lore and most other hermitcraft/life series lore can fall in three categories²: first category is fanmade lore, which isnt a bad thing really, since is a big part of the internal culture and like any other fandom making shit up based on lil things here and there or just because is part of the fun. actually, some of these ideas like the watchers being evil or just antagonistic were talked of enough that theyre pretty much canon on martyn inthelittlewood's pov of the life series, but there's still enough vagueness in the concept outside of that pov to play around.

the second category is completely canon lore, like it is the whole Moon Big storyline³, the civil war, the hippie-area 77 arc, the s7 turf war with mother spore grian (which is a bit, but is a canon thing), the rift and hermitcraft being connected to empires by it, the. thing about docm77's arm being ripped off in one of the earlier seasons by one of the minecraft devs (reason why he has a robotic arm).. and so much more i cannot remember at this point, and thats only from a couple of the povs on hermitcraft. theres so much more, Years of lore, and actually, in this category falls the life series too, because. yeah. but usually is the fans doing on dramatizing it the way it felt in some cases, and expanding on ideas (that, with this, many times end up canon. specially in the case of skins)

the third category is the hints and crumbs dropped on more casual, goofy episodes on hermitcraft. one example of this (or more like, the one example i was thinking of while writing this whole thing, the entire time), is that little Hint in one of the mid seasons of scar, mister goodtimeswithscar, possibly letting an alien he had eat part of the NHO group after their disappearance (irl hiatus) after s4.-s5...?

tho honestly, once you get to know how scar is like. at all. its not out of character for him. he's just a silly guy!

...also if you ask me, and funnily enough because this Technically is canon: Grumbo. yes, the ship. like—they have robot sons named after the both of them, mumbo called grian babe once, grian called himself a needy girlfriend at the start of s7 in the context of mumbo, they've lived as neighbors for as long as the both of them had been together in hermitcraft, theyre obssessed with each other, they made summoning circles of one another when the other was away once in s9—theyre canon in my heart.

anyways. as i said at the beginning, a good starting point is the most recent season just to start knowing who grian Is as a character, plus seeing how seasons go usually, but if you want to get the few references thrown around both in-season and in the fandom, slowly watching around the other seasons is nice; s8 and s9 if you want more things happening at once (also, kinda biased here, but for s8 i also recommend joe hills! is a Fantastic pov on all that went down, is the joe hills difference :] ) and s6 and s7 for more "calm" seasons, but still with things happening every once in a while⁴,

tho with the life series, deffo start with third life, because everyone has their favorite season for one reason or another, but third life... is just. Is Third Life; is defining, The start of the life series, the thing that made people in the fandom finally break away from unspoken rules in the fandom, and the start of something that No One knew it was gonna become as big as it is, a whole series! not even grian and the participants knew, and... it just hits different, yknow?

You wanna know what my first story was about? I wrote it with my best friends cousin (well I did she just gave me characters and gave me some ideas) and I wrote 20 chapters on that thing. It was about my character and her character becoming friends in high school and her character helped my character find the office after the normal textbook bully interaction and ended up with the wrong school schedule landing them in all the same classes together.

They had every Y/N 2015 tropes ever, from bullying, to marry sue, and even prom. It was god awful, but guess what. I loved it and was so proud when I finished it.

I have of course grown as a writer and write so much better now with practice and learning my preferences. Just know if 14 year old me can write a 20 chapter OC garbage fanfic, then you can write something you’re proud of at the time too.

Don’t know what to write? Find a fandom you enjoy and write about a character.

Don’t think you’re original and don’t wanna do something over used? Who cares! If you enjoy a trope then try it! I assure you, everyone eats up Enemies to lovers in every font. Just learn the difference between, bully to lover, rival to lovers, and mild dislike to lovers.

Don’t have a fandom? Make a random OC and throw some trauma onto that thing! I’m traumatizing a 15 year old boy in a situation of life and death with a 400 year old racist fairy.

All that being said. Never say “I could never be a writer.”

Because you absolutely can, you just need to learn basic grammar and find something you enjoy. It doesn’t even need to start out as writing. make a Minecraft scene or smp, add lore and go off of that. Use video game characters you enjoy for your story. Make a mini story on something you’ve always wanted to read/see in a story that no one else seems to have done in what you imagine.

I’ve gone from cringy dyslexic 14 year old author, to a dyslexic adult who is somewhat happy with her work and that is willing to take criticism and critique on their work.

That being said, you don’t have to be perfect to be an author, because I assure you, if you work on it, someone is gonna support that work and enjoy it like no one else. Because as you grow with your work, so will they and so will others. Also, you should be that person that gives that support to yourself, don’t rely on others attention to enjoy it. Idk why i decided to rant about this, but I just remembered a random conversation with a friend when she said she wouldn’t be able to start writing because she didn’t know how.

Believe it or not, it’s actually insanely easy to start. Write a sentence and go from there. No plot, no title, no characters. Just a sentence and see where that takes you.

as Monika from ddlc, i remember two timelines/lives! one timeline follows the canon events of the game where i was a sentient entity trapped within the game. in the other timeline, i was a human girl living in like, a normal world, except i suffered a huuuge breakdown from heavy stress. something in me snapped and i began to see the world as lifeless and flat, and i thought i was stuck in a simulation or video game of some sorts where everything and everyone was fake and i was the only real being. it was.... very hard, as you can probably guess, but with professional help and support from the other club members i got better

her name is midah she is my babygirl. she's also my first (and only) empires SMP oc and i ship her w my f/o (mythicalsausage s1)!!

picture #1 is much more accurate to how midah looks but picture #2 includes details about midah not present in the other photo, such as her red vial necklace, flowers on her cheekbones, and silly little hat

since she's an oc for a series I'll mention stuff that some might not know about, im too lazy to explain everything though so if anyone's curious at all just ask :3

okay midah's backstory is a LIIITTLE murky bc i mainly use her for vague-daydreaming purposes. anyway shes an assassin sorceress who practices blood magic and other types of magic (such as offensive fire Magic that involves creating and manipulating white fire). i got the idea for her name from the line, "touch me, midas, make me part of your design," from my ordinary life. other than that though, her character/story doesn't have much connection to the mythology figure midas. it's just her name that's connected to him. her name is pronounced like midas without the "s", or like the name Micah.

midah is half vampire and half flower elf. i don't really have info on what a "flower elf" is exactly, i don't think i wrote down the info for that, but basically it's just. Elf type connected to Flowers. and flowers often grow on (and maybe in...) their bodies. this can be seen in the red roses that grow on midah's cheekbones. help me my brain is coming up with ideas fur this elf type as i type this but I'm too tired to really focus on that and too focused on finishing this rambles

shes brave, strong, self assured of her own capabilities, tbh for the most part she's a normal person with not much mental and emotional problems, and she cares deeply for those she loves (like a certain mythical j. sausage... aka my f/o ever) she cares deeply to the point of sacrifice but hey, anything for true love amirite... shes also usually the voice of logic and reason compared to sausage but she doesn't try to stop his antics (until his antics start getting a little... demonic.) she totally tops sausage btw. shes also older than him by a bit and she's much taller than him (she's like 7ft tall)

anyway midah isn't very affected by the sunlight BUT she does need to drink blood every now and then, otherwise she gets a bit Quirky (aggressive, uncontrollable monsterlike behavior, and also she starts feeling a lot of physical pain) blood is like a Huge thing for her. she can perform rituals using blood. she wears a vial of blood tied to a necklace for good luck. she has a special bond with the blood sheep

wait what the fuck is a blood sheep? they're creatures from empires SMP s1, particularly the mythland empire (cough cough, that's the main setting of midah's "story") basically they're just Minecraft sheep dyed red. but lorewise they're mysterious creatures who have inhabited mythland for a very long time. they exhibit erratic behavior and sometimes display aggression to other beings. their blood and guts are also very useful for rituals! the blood sheep like midah a lot. they follow her around and nuzzle her like docile farm sheep and sometimes she can communicate with them and they follow her orders. they also protect her FIERCELY against anyone

the vial midah wears around her neck is filled with the blood of a sacrificed blood sheep. she wears it for good luck but replaces it every now and then because the luck can degrade and eventually attract bad luck instead

so yeah i have a lot of different storylines i imagined for midah and ill try to go over them briefly (I'll totally not type like 6 more paragraphs)

- backstory #1 explaining how sausage and midah met: midah moves to mythland and works there as a regular farmer at first and then attempts to join the assassin's guild managed by sausage. she expresses interest in being an assassin and spy. sausage is unsure of her at first,but hes intrigued by her, so he tests her with an easy normal mission: assassinating codfather Jimmy in the empire next door and bringing back his head. yeah that's totally not, like, the beginning of a war and political feud or something. so midah sneaks to the codlands, successfully kills Jimmy, returns with his head, and gets accepted into the guild. at the beginning of this backstory she puts on this facade of a totally unassuming and regular citizen who doesn't seem to have any fighting capabilities, let alone the capability to fight with magic and perform rituals, but then time passes and more and more is revealed about her and it's like Wow she's not who she seems to be. at all. and she quits her farmer job and goes all in on the assassin gig but does other stuff on the side too. and falls in love with saus along the way LOL

- midah x saus backstory #2: they're ~ childhood friends ~ who have been separated for like more than a decade and reunite when midah moves back to mythland. (i envisioned this scene in my head actually—a few days before returning to mythland, midah sends sausage tons and tons of letters sealed within a thick envelope, talking about her plans to return to mythland and why. and also updating him on what's been going on in her life the past decade or so. then on the day she arrives in mythland, they have one of those cute cliche scenes where they run towards each other on a long path and hug each other at the middle. and they cry a bit and talk and marvel about how long its been since they last saw each other. its really sweet ugh)

in this backstory midah was actually part of one of mythland's noble families. i made up some lore where mythland used to be ruled by four noble families (among them were house sausage, which is where sausage comes from duh, and house lavendar, where midah comes from, and yea it's intentionally spelled that way). the noble families/houses went to war with each other for power over mythland and the other two houses were defeated. most members of house lavendar left of their own accord and the rest that remained renounced their noble lineage, leaving house sausage who became the ruling family of mythland. the members of house lavendar specialized in blood magic and a lot of advanced complex blood spells were created by them. hence they have connections to the blood sheep in some way.

i like the longtime friends/allies to lovers dynamic that's going on in backstory #2 (: backstory #1 is still cool in its own way, strangers to lovers is nice, getting to know each other on purpose bc uu find each other intriguing is nice, even though uu might think uur very different people at first, uu get to know the other person a bit more and uu find out things about them and uu realize uur not so different after all ^_^ i read smtg about that once, about loving each other on purpose and choosing to love each other even though uu don't have years and years of history with the other person, and uu grew up completely without them and uur roots aren't tangled with theirs. but still uu love them. and that's very beautiful
