Please share the secrets of your roaring Knight success, they kill me on the first sword maze like every single time

i had shadow mantle and i think tennatie on suzie, kris had a ribbon TP build and ralsei was a pure defense build. the TP build on kris was my lifesaver tbh. it let me use rude buster on almost every turn, which basically turns the fight into an endurance game because you'll almost always have hit the HP threshold (around 1500 total damage) by the first turn the fight can possibly end (1 or 2 turns after susie finishes her power of friendship speech.) fill your inventory with healing items and use them liberally. If you have enough points, the B-rank gacha machine can get you an extra revivemint and an execbuffet which are both extremely helpful.

The game-changing strat for me personally was a tensionmax, also from the B-rank gacha. if you're able to get one, have kris use it first turn. it basically gets you a free rude buster with an easy bullet pattern afterwards, and you don't need the fast soul to dodge on turn 1, so kris can holdbreath on turn 2 and maximize your damage right out the gate.

for the rest of the battle, don't bother trying to do damage with anyone but susie. Kris will refuse to damage the knight significantly unless the entire rest of the party is down and ralsei NEEDS to defend or he will die instantly. The TP gain you get from defending every turn is infinitely more useful than the 11 damage kris's fake ass will do. Basically, you should be either defending or itemhealing with kris and ralsei and then spamming rude buster at every opportunity. I wouldn't even bother healprayer-ing with ralsei unless you're consistently running out of items, and do NOT use susie to heal no matter how desperate you get.

If you used a tensionmax on the first turn and/or you're consistently getting enough TP to rude buster every turn and you're able to keep your entire team alive, you may actually be able to waste a turn defending everyone on more difficult bullet patterns like the sword maze. After about fifty attempts I actually started adding up my total damage in my head after each turn so that I could figure out whether it was worth it to waste a turn on full-party defense. This has the potential to prolong the battle into the unscripted sections, though, which means you won't know which bullet pattern you're going to be dealing with each turn, so use it sparingly if at all. I'd also recommend timing your revives strategically, because revived characters can't defend on that turn, so there's the potential that they go down again in a single hit if you revive them on a bullet pattern you're really bad at. I only had one revivemint and one full-party revive, so I would only ever use them when I knew there were a few patterns in a row coming that I was decent at dodging.

aside from that really all you can do is practice. I spent a good few attempts just focusing REALLY hard on that first fucking sword maze, and eventually I was able to figure out a semi-consistent dodge motion and execute it based on pure muscle memory. It wasn't perfect, but it generally kept at least susie and kris alive. There were bullet patterns that were nearly impossible for me at the beginning that I was able to nohit towards the end of my run purely because I'd done them so much that I'd worked out consistent strategies for them. All you can really do is replay the fucking thing over and over again. which lowkey sucks but it's by design

if/when you do manage to get to the hp threshold, you'll get one free turn where the knight will glow white. HEAL LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT on this turn. do not bother trying to do damage. on the next turn, defend every single party member and get ready to lock in. if you can make it through the final bullet pattern that is coming, you will have one last turn to rude buster, and that turn will win you the battle. good luck soldier o7

so originally i was just doing a ref of the twins for the sake of my own memory. but then i realized "hey i can also make a blind felix au ref outta this"

i chose to dress the bfau boys as i did for specific reasons and i yap about it all under the cut so if you wanna see an autistic person lose their mind about character design uhhh open it ig

• Felix likes wearing thick, baggy clothing because it makes him feel more weighted and secure. also, he often runs into stuff during his first few months of blindness, and the thicker clothing helps reduce injury. it just kinda subconsciously became his preferred style of clothing after that. yes, he will wear a knitted sweater in 90° heat. no, he's not okay

• Felix's shoes are also noticeably thicker-soled than Ted's bc, again, he's scared he's gonna step on something on accident. his shoes are also velcro instead of lace so he doesn't struggle with putting them on by himself

• bc Felix Sr/Mr. Huxely is an Asshole who teaches his kids Assholish Values, Felix is very much ashamed of having to use a cane for a long, long time. he normally has Ted carry it around for him and only uses it when he absolutely has to. normally TED is his living cane so he doesn't need it much agdhagsgaha

• Felix replaces his bandages the start of every day, and every night before he goes to bed. ...or, Ted does it for him. a few nurses have tried before but Felix always complains about them 'not doing it right' or 'making it too tight' and even if they manage to get the bandages on, Felix would just rip them off and demand for Ted to do it afterwards (this is my way of subtly saying Felix only wants and trusts Ted to do his bandages and he's terrified of everyone else lol haha)

• He's still a little snobby asshole but he gets better every day, especially after meeting other disabled people. it's a slow process, but he's getting there. slowly. sooooo slowly.

• ong the whole time I was drawing bfau Ted the more details i added to him the louder that at one Markiplier audio played in my head. 'oh, it's adorable! ...oh, it has anxiety. oh, it's traumatized-'

• the only positive about this situation is that since Felix isn't on his ass about upholding a formal appearance for the family name anymore, Ted can dress more to his style, which is like. how any 5 year old would wanna dress ODGOSGAIG

• also, Ted not only primarily wears red bc it's like. His Color, it also hides bloodstains very well. and as I said in my first bfau post, blood comes out when Felix cries, Ted just.. doesn't mention that

• there's not much else to say about Ted's design other than that I slapped the top of that bad boy and saw how much guilt I could fit in em. spoiler: its a lot

• Ted doesn't get very good sleep a lot of the time, and when hes not with Felix, it's bc Felix Sr is dragging him to a business meeting so that he can 'learn the ropes'. Ted sleeps the best whenever Felix is in the same room as him, so thats why he has the eyebags. he doesn't get to, often

• as I said in my last post, Ted blames himself for what happened, even if it like. isn't at all his fault. he smiles a lot less and has lost a lot of his joyous whimsy. he still is the kinder and more positive twin, hes just. hes really Sad

• if someone makes fun of Felix for being blind Ted will beat them with the cane, fullstop. don't test him

• ...okay this isnt an au-specific thing its just how I draw the twins but every time I get to do it it makes me go 'teehee'. Felix's little hair part thing is shaped like an apple, and Ted's is a heart. teehee. I love details

Making another post about the AMA, as a few questions couldn't be answered on the reddit post before it was closed. Some of the answers were send to the Secret Mode server instead.

So I am listing them all in this post, so I can use it for the wiki. I also asked a few additional questions about Alex, (for example, we were confused if we had two Alex on the rig because of the Alex P. signature. But turns out, Alex Cranstoun is the same Alex who talks to Sunil).

Lead Narrative Sagar: "Thanks for asking this. It had to do with the overall arc of Mhairi's story. Mhairi, for us, works really well as a foil to Caz. She has more information, plans more, and most importantly, chooses to go into a dangerous situation. True, she doesn't know quite how dangerous it's going to be. But it's a far cry from Caz, who never expected to be running around like mad on a sinking oil rig, and is equipped just with a screwdriver. His final action is exactly what he has grown to be capable of doing. By contrast, no one asked Mhairi to go to the bottom of the North Sea and disturb what was there. She chose to. The most straightforward thing to do, narratively, is to make her pay for that choice, maybe with the ultimate sacrifice. But we wanted to reflect the greater agency Mhairi has a character to do a bit more, and ask the player what they think makes sense for their version of Mhairi. After all, even the game itself opens up a bit more: your version of Mhairi might be more exploratory and less resolute than another, or vice versa. We don't branch very widely in this story, just at the end, so it's not too hard to keep the various realities in our heads simultaneously. It would be a different design challenge if the game were built around branching. Thanks for your question!" Lead Design Jade: "On SWTD we wanted to tell a story about a person who was always running finally deciding to do what's right for his family. A choice would have not given the experience we wanted. But Mhairi has a choice because I think we all deal with grief in a different way. When someone dies you can feel guilty about letting go of that sadness because it feels scary when you built yourself around it. Ultimately you can either let it consume you or let it go and I love that we managed to talk about it in such a way. I think in our mind both ending are open enough that we can do different things with them if we decide to."

Who is Alex/what is his backstory, and what's his surname? (Lo-Honko is my reddit name)

From Sagar: Lo-Honko's questions were quite fun to respond to. But this specific question (the 5th) was ambiguous. There isn't just one body in those two locations: there are two, one in each named spot. In my answer, I only responded to what I thought was being referred to in the second one, later on in the pipe maze, the body with the lighter. But let me expand on both bodies, because I think the first at least has some cool implications about events we never get to see. Once you're down at 237 metres, you get into Mud Pits. (That's the "giant room, split by a fence", as Rob says.) If you make your way through a pipe at the top of the room, you can snake your way into a smaller room, called Mud Handling. That's the one that has a dartboard and also something that looks like a body, buried under some rubble... but also bizarrely with a seeming cross / grave marker? Now that is a weird and confusing thing... is it a legit grave marker? What the hell? This is actually one of the oddest things Mhairi has found to date. It's what leads her, uncharacteristically, to trip over her words. "I-I don't know... body," Mhairi says. Because she can see something Rob can't. It's not just a body. It's a body with debris that seems to have fallen (or been placed!) in the shape of a grave marker. Who would have done that? Presumably the collapse of the rig was an emergency. Who would've had the time, and if they did, why do it in that location? Doesn't seem to be someone in their right mind, and moreover, it'd have to be someone (or some thing) that could have survived such an emergency, present in Engineering and full of confused emotions. --------------------------

The second body (the one holding the lighter in the pipe maze) after you listen to the second data logger recording is Alex Cranstoun. I expanded on this in the AMA and how he got ahold of Finlay's lighter. Alex worked hard on the rig, and he was seen in the first game working with Sunil. He works on the Deck and is always fixing something or trying to keep the rig from falling apart. We get a hint way back when Mhairi discovers the Ganpati murti of just how heavily Sunil's loss was felt, but we don't discover too much about Alex. In fact, Mhairi's quite confused by this body too, even about how it possibly has arrived into the vent. How horrific, if this person died, trapped in the vent. Alex was no less loved by his mates. He was a particularly close co-worker with Sunil. In fact, we see the two of them talking together very early in Still Wakes the Deep. Work on a rig can be very uncompromising and very busy. But there can also be a lot of dead time. You have to make your own entertainment. Sunil, Alex, Archie, and Gregor would sometimes have competitions around who could grow the most luxurious facial hair. Let's just say that Alex did not win this competition... He was determined to get his revenge on Sunil during the darts tournament, and even this did not go his way. Though as a consolation, Alex did manage to win Finlay's lighter off her late in the darts tournament, after everyone was deep in their cups. When the disaster began, and the leccy went out, that lighter was what Alex used to navigate for a little bit while he was running for safety. But it barely lasted a few minutes, before plunging him into darkness. And as the rig listed, Alex tragically tripped and fell into a vent, a slow and tragic end for someone who deserved better.

This is super interesting, this is gonna take a while to put into the wiki. But today I am editing Alex and Archie (I deleted the Cranstoun page and will delete the Dunbar page later, don't touch it!)

I find it important to have sources because some people will think you lie and edit something and claim it's a headcanon. I had to re-edit a page because someone claimed the father-son relationship between Muir and Innes was a headcanon (because of the new memento). I think the person means no harm, but I figured I mention this.

Double check before you edit something, because if you don't have a source for example, you may spread wrong information.

Kpop Demon Hunters (2025)

A film that follows Huntrix, an idol band, featuring our protagonist, Rumi & her two friends Zoey and Mira. They're demon hunters, who use the power of song to protect the world from demons. Things get complicated & messy when the demons form a boyband, Saja Boys, in order to combat Huntrix.

SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT

I loved the animation, especially the scene where Zoey's eyes turned into corn, then popcorn and Mira was eating the popcorn that was coming out of Zoey's eyes. It's wonderfully comedic & utilizes 3D animation. This can be said the same for the scene where they visit the doctor and his eyeballs enlargen & swell up. My favourite scene that used animation well, is when the Saja Boys' are singing Soda Pop and the city is washed with a pretty shade of purple as they sing. The first song and the animation was just, ugh. The action pairing with the music was soooo good.

I also really liked the character designs for all the girls, I think my favorite was definitely Rumi's. I loved her hair. The songs are super catchy and my favorite is TAKE DOWN. (Perhaps in the future I will do a review of the songs).

My biggest complaint of KDH, is that it was simply too short. I think that it would have been better if it was a series, since the exploration of the KDH universe is too much for a movie. I felt a few times whilst I was watching, it seemed like the movie was talking to me. I remember the moment where Rumi was talking to Jinu about her scars fading because of him, and I was like "when did that happen? I didn't even see that".

Instead of Jinu saying "Ah the voices are disappearing", I think it would have been more interesting if we had a moment where the voices literally manifested into his sister and mother. Or like when he looked at the girl who gave him the drawing, he saw his sister momentarily. Or maybe shadows that haunt him constantly that receed when he can't hear the voices anymore. Or maybe his scars glow, like Rumi's, because he's accepted himself. I wish the theme of shame was like.. since in the beginning, Jinu told Rumi that he left his family and she comforted him, his scars started glowing temporarily. And then when he admits the truth that he left them, his scars return back to being dark. It could have been an interesting message of, how lying to yourself about the brevity of your actions causes more pain in the long run.

Also, how did Jinu get the music for TAKE DOWN? I feel like Zoey wasn't fleshed out as much as the other girls, aside from when they were at HAN clinic & the doctor was talking about how her "eagerness to please". I think the moment where Rumi was talking about the lyrics of TAKE DOWN being too harsh & cruel and Zoey pulling out all her notebooks. I feel like there could have been a scene, where Zoey felt a bit useless since all her lyrics weren't helping. I really liked how Rumi felt conflicted, because it's almost speaking to her, a half-demon. I loved how it was used at the end to really hurt her.

The passing comment of Mira saying that "I guess I don't deserve a family", really struck me. I wish it was expanded, maybe Mira has a locket of the three together, or maybe her mom calls her and Mira ignores it.

Most of the Saja boys are ugly, aside from Jinu, and like, I don't even know their names.

I wish they expanded more on the theme of identity & shame, I think that the message is good, like embrace every part of yourself, because even if others shun you for something, you can't do anything about it. About Rumi's scars, I remember thinking why didn't she go to Celine initially, since her scars were growing and affecting her voice. Moreover, did her scars also affect her arms/the rest of her body? If it can affect her voice, why not the rest of her body?

Anyways, I probably have more thoughts, I just haven't thought of them. Please reblog & comment!!! I'd love to talk to other people and what they feel too. If anyone is knowledge about Korean culture & how it influenced kdh, please comment! I'd love to know more.

This is gonna sound a little harsh but as someone who really likes vee... i don't really like Vee's season 3 design. I like it moreso in fanart but in the show it doesn't hit quite right for me.

Im gonna list a few things I don't like and things I'd change

1. why does she have nostrils when literally no other character in the shows art style has nostrils

2. No vitiligo is a huge missed opportunity idk why they didn't do it :(

3. I love the way vee is designed when disguising as luz because it has a lot of personality. You can tell how different vee is from luz from just looking at her. I just feel like s3 vee is kinda boring in that regard.

4. I heavily associate that cat hat that vee wore in s2 with her so I'm adding it it's my favorite thing ever

5. I. Don't like her hair being fused with her ears. It's cool but I just think it's weird.

6. If you look at Vee's disguise in s2 when she's running out of magic, she distinctly has a more catlike ":3" mouth. So I'm adding that.

7. Darker skin tone because I think it suits the color palette more. Don't be weird about it

8. Also making her chubbier because this show severely lacks actually fat characters. Feel free to get mad about it ig

I'm curious,so we know that some of the casts have tattoos and some don't/or at least you can't see them. Would any of them consider getting more in the future?

Strade- probably not. Strade’s tattoo is an odd one, because it’s a reference to his original character in TINR, which is an alternate universe. The symbol has nothing to do with BTD Strade. I think that’s kind of neat how there’s a bit of mystery there (in my fan fiction, Ren asks/will ask what Strade’s tattoo means multiple times, but somehow he never gets an answer.. because canonically it doesn’t make sense). But no, I doubt he’d get another one.

Lawrence- it’s possible, but I don’t think he’d need to. Law got his tattoos on impulse because he felt the sudden need to separate his arms from himself, so he wasn’t connected to ‘what they had done’. It was a symbol that helped him relieve stress about his actions, but it did just that— I don’t think he’d feel the need to do it again. And I don’t think he’s the type to get a tattoo just for looks, either.

Derek- I mentioned this recently, but probably not. He got his tattoo as scar cover up from his father. There’s a few reasons he won’t get another; 1. Placement, he has no other (serious) scars he’d want to hide. 2. The scorpion, hence him wanting that to be his nickname, is kind of a symbol of his self-identity and the rebelling part of him that breaks away from his father. That’s another reason it covers the scars. It’s worth noting that I don’t think Derek did that intentionally— he says the scorpion looks cool, but there was a bit more psychological reasoning. But basically, there’s reason, it wasn’t an impulse design. And 3. He has a hilariously low pain tolerance. He can’t handle another one.

I got a few petty reasons, but a very justified reason is because he is extremely disrespectful and treats everyone around him like garbage. Goose herself said that Jax is a bad person and the Jax simps need to reel back on the excuses they make for his behavior.

"But he's just pushing people away to cope" "But he's just mean because he lost a friend." "But that's just his way of showing love"

Yeah those may explain his behavior but they do not justify it. No matter the reason, Jax is responsible for how he treats other people, and he treats them all like trash. Jax should be held accountable for that.

Now just because I hate him, doesn't mean I have to take Ribbit away in my AU. I hate Jax as a character, as he was designed to be up to this point. But I wouldn't wish the death of a friend on anyone. So honestly for my own sake, not having to write something so sad, I added Ribbit to my AU.

Honestly I like Ragatha a LOT more after episode 5. She's actually becoming one of my favorites.

For starters, I could so easily put myself in her shoes when she mentioned Ribbit. Jax has been a PHAT JERK for a VERY LONG TIME. He has been grinding her gears FOREVER. Because of this she lets a nasty comment slip. "Not anymore.." but after that she IMMEDIATELY back peddles, realizing that what she said was very out of line. I can see myself being bitter and sipping up just like she did.

Right after she frantically yet genuinely apologizes and then flees to give Jax space from her.

Later on, when Jax has been a jerk AGAIN and pushes her buttons with a stupid "what no apology for me?~~💅💅💅"? I would not have had the strength to be kind to Jax. I would have told him to screw off and turned away most likely. But Ragatha had a bigger heart than that.

Despite how rightfully TICKED OFF she is with Jax's horrible behavior, she swallows her pride and apologies again for bringing up Ribbit. And again, walks away to give each other space.

I think Ragatha was awesome and showed how big her heart is in this episode. When she has these outbursts due to stress or other she immediately takes accountability for what she said and genuinely apologizes. That is a millions times more than Jax can say.

The Caine in my AU is very different from canon. So much so he's hardly Caine anymore, but I'm ok with that.

My Caine has 2 goals, of which he was not programmed to do, but has made for himself none the less. #2 is to keep the humans as mentally healthy and calm as he possibly can. And 1# being the most important, get the humans out of here ASAP and back into the real world.

So while Caine in canon was freaking out about the humans liking the suggestion box adventures more than his own, my Caine would be THRILLED! He's be so relieved that the humans have some time of peace where they're getting along and socializing. In fact he would probably toss in a few little distracting activities like more food options, some more pretty bugs and a few more pretty colors in the sky.. before leaving the humans there in peace while he works extra hard on finding an exit for a bit.

In my AU, Caine cannot control or alter the minds of the humans in any way. And he is very transparent and honestly about his inability to do so. Which ngl the circus members kind'a wish he could-

If Caine could alter the minds of the humans, he could shut down their panic attacks, remove their deep depressions or paranoid delusions, and even cure abstraction. But alas, he cannot..

As for the Dinobots, I don't think I can promise anything 😅 I mean, you said they were normal Cybertronians that were experimented on and mutated to look like dinosaurs, right? Well in my AU it obviously wouldn't make any sense for Shockwave to have modeled them after Earth creatures- if he even could make them perfect like that.

Instead, they just probably became these horrible masses of mutated metal and grime. Their legs and spines were elongated, forcing them to arch and crouch their legs. Kind'a looking like a dino but not really being one- Idk how I can make that NOT horrific 😓😓

And tbh, I'm back and forth on Shockwaves arm. If he was primarily a scientist, wouldn't be illogical to replace one of his arms with a blaster? It would make more sense to replace his arm with another working hand, and maybe give himself some kind of body mounted gun for protection. Like Megatrons arm blaster or Breakdowns shoulder cannon.

That's probably what I'll do. But his other arm could look different or odd. Maybe it was taken from someone else's body and so the paint and finger shapes are different. But ultimately its just a normal hand.

Also, Shockwave using Arachnids mind as a blueprint for the Insecticons is really clever! It would make a lot of sense that they would worship her. I'll have to think about that! :00

I'm thinking Ribbit will actually be a 17 year old girl. I'm considering making her a mischievous "little" sister to Jax and they (lovingly) prank the crap out of each other all the time XDD

I got through all of Markipliers videos on it thus far, which as of typing this he has 8 parts up.

And yeah, at first I liked it. But by that first ending I completely rejected that entire game from the FNAF lore. It implies and changes WAY too much. Especially when it comes to Henry, William, the history of Fazbear entertainment, the springlock suits, the original 4 bots- its just a huge mess. As far as I'm concerned, for my AUs at the very least, that game is not canon. at all.

HOWEVER, I did take a liking to the animatronics/costumes. Much more than I thought I would. In fact I have some drawing plans for them! :DD

I don't hate Bowser- but after the Mario movie made an absolute fool of him, I wanted to make him a vicious, irredeemable villain in my AU. Just an absolute monster, I WANTED people to fear and hate him. But in the end he felt bland.. it almost felt like I made a fool of him too but just on the opposite end of the spectrum.

I have since then learned my lesson and now try to take characters I don't like and give them some grace. I hope I was able to do that with TADC and TFP! <XDD

In response to the current rise of transphobia, I, a cis ally, have begun to headcanon every character I enjoy as trans. Why? Because it gets me as close as I can to understanding the experience.

In light of that, here’s the current list of characters I headcanon as trans—maybe you’ll find a few you like! 🏳️‍⚧️

• Jax (TADC) as transmasc he/him. Why? Because of his aversion to wearing the dress, alongside his comments about being masculine. He clearly doesn’t have faith in his own masculinity, which can apply to cis guys, but I just like thinking of him as trans. Especially with the whole concept of the Digital Circus putting everyone in unfamiliar bodies they didn’t choose.

• Link (TLoZ) as transmasc they/he (AFAB). Why? Ffs look at them. But also because in the original Zelda, Link was designed to be relatable visually for anyone of any gender to play. The creator stated that if the player sees Link as a woman, Link would be a masc woman; if the player sees Link as a man, they would be a fem man. Also, in BotW, he has no nipples, and I feel like that’s very non binary of him.

• Zelda (TLoZ) as transfem she/her. Why? Because t4t zelink 🥺🥺🥺 Canonically, the goddess Hylia passes her powers down to the firstborn daughter iirc, which does insinuate cis Zelda. But I like trans Zelda more so Hylia can shut up. T4T Zelink is my forever headcanon and I will likely never interpret them as cis

• Mettaton (Undertale) as. Whatever you want them to be (any/all pronouns). Why? SHE’S A QUEER ICON, why ELSE!? He’s a drag queen no matter their gender. Also she’s a robot so they don’t really have an assigned gender. But I know a lot of transmasc Mettaton enjoyers and honestly, I just love every iteration of their gender (aside from cis lmfao). Off topic but aspec Mettaton for life

• Light AND Ryuzaki/L (Death Note) both transmasc he/him (but honestly they/them for L also eats). Again, t4t is my favorite but I also LOVE the idea of spoiled rich genius cop’s son god complex Light Yagami with his high reputation secretly being a trans man, while L is just a gremlin bisexual communist who does not fucking care about his gender. I also think a closeted trans woman Light Yagami AU would be really fun, considering her reputation and her father’s reputation. For a show about mass murder Death Note is really LGBTQIA+ coded

• Every Pokémon character (specifically every SV character because oh my god)

• Steven (Steven Universe) genderfluid he/she/they/any. I love their relationship with gender and SU was just great queer rep overall. Steven is my favorite character and although it’s a popular hc that he’s not cis, it’s one of my favorites.

• Sam Winchester (Supernatural) transfem she/her. Y’ALL. Do not get me started on transbian asexual Sam Winchester. Spn was one of my early on special interests and Sam’s relationship with gender was only hindered by the straight white men script writers. There was so much trans coding there. Dean is also very transmasc to me but Samantha Winchester I love you very much

• Scaramouche (Genshin Impact) transmasc he/they. Why? Why would you ask me why. He is literally a sentient puppet modeled after a woman, was thrown away after he wasn’t what said woman expected (I know she didn’t mean to hurt them but the mommy issues remain), and I’m pretty sure he changed their name like. Four times. Or something. Kunikuzushi, Scaramouche, Wanderer, whatever the player comes up with, Hat Man(?). A lot of the Genshin characters are very trans coded and I don’t think a single one of them is NOT a member of the alphabet mafia but Scara takes the cake imo.

• Nia (Xenoblade Chronicles 2 & 3) transfem she/her. She is such a trans allegory. I don’t want to spoil her story at all for anyone who hasn’t played XBC. It’s a popular series but many people still haven’t heard of it. She isn’t canonically trans but let’s just say her story is very very trans coded.

Anyway I could probably come up with a gazillion more but I want to hear from the people of Tumblr. Specifically the trans people of Tumblr, which is most of you. WHAT ARE YOUR TRANS HEADCANONS?!

I totally understand wanting to know more details about the game itself. That's completely valid, and I don't think that anyone is going to argue that wanting to know more is wrong.

But I do work in game development, and I've worked in-studio on multiple live service mobage/mobile games, so hopefully this might help give some perspective based on personal experience!

The thing to remember is, unreleased details/information isn't just common for all games just in general (it's normal for everything from mobile games, to indie games, to AAA first party titles) but this is standard for the entire gaming industry. Every game ever made will keep a certain amount of information away from the audience, and this is completely on purpose. A game isn't supposed to have 100% of content and information available to the public before it releases. This is just standard marketing and copyright/IP protection practises. That's why it's considered such a big deal if games have any information or gameplay leaked to the public before release. Just look at huge franchises like Pokémon - they almost never release any info outside of the most basic details, leaving any public reveals until right up until the game is released. Players aren't supposed to know the entire PokéDex or story spoilers or new characters ahead of time, but huge leaks like that have happened before and it's ruined the experience of playing the new game for many players.

Again, it's TOTALLY normal and understandable to want to know more about the new OM game. I think a lot of us feel the same way. But not only is it important for game devs to keep a good amount of information withheld until release, but this isn't something that's unique to OM alone. Every game abides by this industry standard. The OM Team isn't keeping secrets from the players because they're trying to hide anything, they're simply following the standard protocol that all mobage titles abide by.

(There's some legal red tape involved in this too, such as the copyright/IP and information protection I mentioned earlier. But the legality of pre-release game info is a really dry and boring discussion that would need it's own whole post to really get into)

There's still a lot of misinformation and misunderstanding around the Kickstarter as well, and I'm not saying that's anybody's fault, but I've just seen this same confusion quite a few times by now so it's definitely not just you.

As for the your claim regarding "game production" - I think that the problem here is a fundamental misunderstanding of what game production actually is, and what it means in different contexts.

To start with, it bears repeating- THE KICKSTARTER IS NOT TO FUND THE CREATION OR PRODUCTION OF THE GAME ITSELF. THE OM TEAM HAS VERY CLEARLY STATED THIS MULTIPLE TIMES.

The reason why "app development and production" is listed under "How your support will be used" is entirely due to the context that those terms are being used.

"Development and production" applies to literally every single aspect that is put into a game in any way. Literally everything you add to a game, from music to artwork to patches and bug fixes, counts as development and production. That's why live service mobage are "in development" for years and years at a time. Every single basic update, even 9 years after the game was released, is still "game development"

The issue that I think you (and a lot of other fans, since this is a pretty common misunderstanding) are running into is that you're erroneously reading "game development and production" as meaning "creation of the actual game itself"

And that is just simply incorrect both literally and in use of terminology. Like I said earlier, "development and production" are game design terms, and also LEGAL terms, and they have more than one meaning depending on the context in which they're used.

There's a lot of misunderstanding that the Kickstarter is saying "we're using the crowdfunded money to make the new OM game itself, from scratch, and build it from the ground up" and a lot of fans genuinely believe that the Kickstarter is funding the creation of the whole game. That's just objectively, factually untrue.

The ONLY reason "development and production" is listed on the Kickstarter is because putting additional content into the game, like cosmetic items or new music or voice acting, is still "development" in the sense that...stuff is being added to the game.

But adding bonus content and extras (that WERE NOT A PART OF THE BASE GAME AND WERE NEVER PLANNED TO BE A PART OF THE GAME ORIGINALLY) is an entirely separate practice. It's completely uninvolved from the creation of the actual game itself.

Because the new OM game was already being made for a LONG time before they even announced it back in May. They had already been working on game development for a very long time before the Kickstarter even existed.

As the OM Team themselves have clearly stated, multiple times: the crowdfunding donations are being used PURELY for bonuses, extra content, and merch, to celebrate the new game being launched.

The fact that SOME of that bonus content is in the form of digital additions to the game (like character outfits or voice acting) is why it's legally counted as "game development" - but that's the only thing that "game development" means in this context.

Because it's adding new, extra content to an existing game that has already been made. Absolutely nobody but Solmare themselves funded the creation of the new game. Exactly $0 was taken from fans to build and develop the new game. The new OM game is ENTIRELY SELF-FUNDED, WHICH THE OM TEAM HAS REPEATEDLY CONFIRMED. Adding extra/bonus content later on, after the core game has already been developed, is NOT the same thing as "funding the game" itself.

If you download a free-to-play game, and then a couple of months later the company releases optional DLC for $5, you as a player did not "fund the development" of the actual game if you buy the DLC. The DLC is extra additional content, that got added to the original game after the fact.

THAT'S what the digital game rewards for the new OM game are. They are, essentially, just DLC that will be added to the ALREADY FINISHED GAME before it releases.

NOBODY PAID TO FUND THE NEW GAME ITSELF. THE GAME WAS ALREADY FUNDED, ALREADY CREATED, AND ALREADY WELL INTO DEVELOPMENT LONG BEFORE THE KICKSTARTER EVER EXISTED. The Kickstarter rewards are EXTRAS AND BONUSES that will be added to the core game. That's literally it. You didn't pay to fund the core game. Nobody did. "Development and production" are industry terminology that apply to multiple different aspects of game creation and their definition changes depending on context.

And just for what it's worth - I'm not saying any of this with the intention of being aggressive or to start discourse! I think that people's questions and confusion are all valid, and a lot of what you say is coming from a very understandable place. I'm trying very hard to emphasize the key points that I most often see being subjected to misinformation, but it's just emphasis (and not me being argumentative or anything)

Well, you know who also has slightly yellowed eyes? Donnie.

While Raph’s are more yellow, I think it’s cute that this is something that they share and I don’t see it pointed out too often?

It’s also something they both share with Draxum and Splinter’s current form (though again, these two have much more yellow sclera than the boys do.)

I REALLY REALLY LIKED IT i cant put my thoughts into coherent order right now because its past midnight but oughghguhghgh it was so good

i replayed 1+2 as well since my save data didnt transfer over (it was on my previous laptop. i played it streaming for my friends and we voiced it but we finished it literally like. days before that laptop killed itself) and i figured itd be fun to get to replay them at my own pace (although i was trying to go a bit quickly to get to the new stuff. i think i played for like 8 hours the day it released and that was entirely just the first two chapters lol)

overall had an absolutely fantastic time. undertale is technically the reason ive gone down the hole of interests that i have (its a long story. just know that its what led me through getting into new stuff from the people i followed and thats somehow resulted in where i am now) and gettign to be here and play deltarune properly upon release finally is. so incredible.
