You know I feel like the placement of Beast Yeast and Odyssey is kind of confusing for newer players, especially if they don’t really interact with the fandom and know when the stories are supposed to take place
Odyssey’s not as bad, but you unlock it after finishing Episode 12, when it only happens after Episode 14, after the Dark Cacao storyline. It’s probably not the worst thing, but if you decide to start it after Episode 12, I feel like it could be confusing as to why Dark Cacao’s there at the least, since you haven’t met him or you’ve only barely seen him if you’ve started Episode 13
But as for Beast Yeast, you unlock it after finishing Episode 8, despite it taking place after both Odyssey and probably more importantly, Episode 18. Heck, you unlock it right before the Pure Vanilla story. So I mean starting off, you might not even understand why Pure Vanilla’s there. As I recall, you don’t really know what happened to Pure Vanilla by that point and that he’s still around, we were still led to believe he’s dead, right? And then you don’t really have the full context as to why they’re in Beast Yeast, since we only get the reason at the end of Episode 18, or who the Crème Republic is that gave them the airship, and if the other Ancients are referenced later on, what the heck they’re doing there. I mean okay, it might not be incomprehensible, players can probably understand that these are story events they just haven’t seen yet, but why place unlocking it so far behind the rest of the story? Because those new players don’t have context for over half the story by this point
Yeah it’s not as confusing for us already having played the game and being there when the story updates come out, but what about newer players who don’t have that context and maybe don’t interact with the fandom that much to know what’s going on?
#this is just something I think about#the order of the story is confusing#because you have to play World Exploration 1 to 14#but not Odyssey yet bc it’s after 14 and definitely not Beast Yeast despite probably unlocking it a while ago#then you have to play the Special Episode Cookie Odyssey all the way to Chapter 3#then go back and play the other four Episodes#but sometime in between 14 and 18 you have to also play the Red Dragon Special Episode#since Pitaya shows up at the end of 18#then finally you have to go back and start Beast Yeast after finishing 18#like if you want to experience the story as it canonically happens it’s confusing#not the worst thing ever but still confusing#anyways#cookie run#cookie run kingdom#world exploration#random stuff

It's been a long time, here's what I just posted on Tik Tok because I feel it's something that needs more reach. For my MHA shifters - or people who are shifting to be heroes.
Do you want to be a hero?
Could you?
Crossing the Line: A Reflection Guide for Shifters Exploring Morality, Identity, and Power.
The Mirror You've Been Avoiding - This guide is for the shifters who crave more than surface-level control. For the ones who want to know what they are, not just what they can do. You’ve stepped into a world where the lines are bloodstained, blurred, corrupt and always changing. Bending and morphing. It’s not about choosing "hero" or "villain" anymore—it’s about owning what your impact truly means.
This isn’t a quiz. It’s a confrontation.
---
Section I: Defining Your Compass Prompt 1: What does "hero" mean to you—and where did that definition come from?
Was it taught, witnessed, felt, or forced on you? Is it still true for you?
Prompt 2: What do you refuse to do? What lines can’t be crossed?
Now, imagine a scenario where that refusal could save someone you love. Do you cross it?
Prompt 3: Think of someone you see as a villain. What part of them reflects you—even just a little?
Breakdown: Morality is shaped, not born. It changes with environment, power, exposure, and pressure. Identifying your personal code—not the one you were given, but the one you’re building—is your foundation.
Section II: The Weight of Power Prompt 4: Who gave you your power? Or did you take it?
What does that origin mean about how you use it?
Prompt 5: What has your power protected? And what has it damaged?
Prompt 6: Are you using your power to change the system, or just survive within it?
Breakdown: Power is loud—but intention is louder. Where your power comes from, and where it leads you, shows whether you're shaping your reality or just keeping yourself from drowning in it.
Section III: The Reality of Choice Prompt 7: When have you hesitated? Why?
What happened because of that hesitation?
Prompt 8: What’s more dangerous: the wrong choice or no choice?
Prompt 9: Do you believe in redemption—for others? For yourself?
Breakdown: Every decision in this life costs something. Some people trade innocence. Others trade comfort. You need to know what you are willing to pay—and what you can never buy back.
Section IV: The Role You Play Prompt 10: Who do people think you are? Is that how you intended to be perceived? Was that the goal?
Who are you really?
Prompt 11: What do you let people misunderstand about you?
Why?
Prompt 12: What kind of world are you shaping through your role—intentionally or not?
Breakdown: Image is power. So is authenticity. Sometimes they match—often, they don't. If you're shifting realities, you must become conscious of your performance and its consequences.
Section V: Grey Territory Prompt 13: What if you’re not a hero—or a villain? Don't just say vigilante or in-between. Tell me what exactly you're willing to do, and why.
Can you live in that grey? Do you want to? If you said yes, and later on experienced it in real-time and it started eating you alive, would you have the strength to pull away and start over from scratch?
Prompt 14: What if someone else chose to be grey—and they hurt someone you care about? Do you still support their freedom to choose?
Prompt 15: Are you still shifting towards who you want to be—or away from who you were?
Breakdown: Grey isn’t indecision. It’s resistance. It’s carving your own way when every system wants to label you before you’ve even spoken.
Final Reflection: What Do You Want to Leave Behind?
What do you want to build?
What must be broken to get there? Can you learn how to rebuild from the beginning on your own, and get back up when you fall? Because there are no ifs or buts. You will fall.
And who will you become when you’ve done it? What are you willing to do to reach that goal state?
This is where you decide what power means in your hands. This is where you stop pretending it’s easy. Because none of this is. But you already knew that.
Use this space. Mark it up. Tear it apart. Let it haunt you. Let it ground you. Let it tell you something true.
This is a guide created for reflection by shifters walking a path of complexity, moral sharpness, and self-aware evolution.

i binge-watched s2 of tlou yesterday in the hopes of coming away with a more positive outcome...
i've been a fan of these games for years, going on 10 now. i've played each of them like 5/6 times, they're some of my favorites. i've been an active participant in this fandom for many years, read reddit thread after reddit thread and analysis after analysis. this is how i joined this fandom. i was watching the game awards with a friend in 2022 before s1 premiered and bella and pedro went out on stage with ashley and troy and i was like "oh, they all seem excited, this is a good sign".
what i'm saying is, i was going to watch this show if it was good or bad because i've been in love with the source material for so long.
i know, another game fan complaining about s2. but i like to think i'm a little different than a lot of game fans (for a number of reasons....... those people SUCK) because i actually welcomed and really enjoy bella and pedro's performances. in fact, i prefer pedro's joel over troy's, which is like blasphemy to those people. this is also why i'm even a part of the pedro fandom at all.
however, i think something changed from how fucking good s1 was to what we got in s2. in the hopes of not making this post terribly long, i'll try to narrow down why i thought s2 was just "fine".
1. craig mazin fundamentally misunderstands ellie as a character.
ellie's entire arc in pt 2 is about her grief over losing joel. she's lost everyone she ever loved and this is like, the final nail in the coffin, so to speak.
there's a huge shift in ellie's personality from game 1 to 2. her voice is monotone and devoid of a lot of the childlike silliness and wonder. even before joel dies this is the case because she feels betrayed by him for lying to her.
the problem i have with season 2 is that ellie still feels like she's 14 because that's how craig mazin sees her. he sees ellie as a child and even refers to her relationship with dina as "parent/child" which is fucking WEIRD. he sees her as someone that's incapable of intelligent thought.
ellie is reckless, that's true. but i never once questioned ellie's abilities in this world that she's been raised in. she spends a lot of pt2 alone because of dina's pregnancy and she handles herself exceptionally well. season 2 ellie makes me feel like she needs someone holding her hand the whole time and that's disappointing as fuck.
2. the studio had too much influence and it fucked up the tone.
this part of the story is supposed to feel different to the first game. "why do you want the depressing tone to stay?" because i thought that writing was great? because i think the show-only fans are getting an inferior experience than the one that i got.
changing an interactive experience to a passive one is hard, and i know that was always going to feel different, but they managed it in season 1! they did that so fucking well. it's some of the best tv in recent memory imo.
i don't even want a 1:1 recreation of the game, because i want to explore this world as much as i can. i can just turn the games on if i wanted that, but i'm only going to get bill and frank's story if i turn on that episode.
cutting this season down to 7 episodes takes away a lot of the meat of the story for pt2. the studio obviously didn't want to spend the money on the resources it needed to make a lot of what makes this story compelling actually work. but they had no problem wasting a fuckton of money on giant sets that didn't even get used/seen, because idk.... why not? idk, i'm annoyed.
they hit the main story beats and went "that's enough, right?" also despite wanting them to explore more, it's a problem when the best parts of the season are the 1:1 recreations.
final thoughts:
pedro, bella, and the rest of the cast do an amazing job in s2. despite the questionable writing/dialogue, there are some standout moments.
but overall i don't feel nearly as excited as i did with s1. i don't like being led by the hand in order for someone to tell me a story.
it's fine and that's... not good, imo.
i'm gonna go replay pt2 as a cleanse.

hi! do you have any long canon klaroline fic recommendations?
i’m missing klaroline and actual canon isn’t gonna cut it
I'm going to assume by long fics you mean multichaps? I've always found this fandom seems to be lacking in them, and I'm not talking about the 5-10 chapter fics --- I mean the long ass, epic-length fics that transport you to another dimension and rob you of nine hours of your life in a back-alley because you couldn't close the ao3 page at 1am. Other fandoms seem to have dozens of them but klaroline? Not so much. Writers here seem to prefer the 50k one-shots or playing with a different AU altogether, which is fantastic of course, but sometimes you crave something different, you know? Something you can lose youself in. It's what made me write TBBW, initially. However, that doesn't mean the fandom doesn't have some canon-divergent gems.
Epic-Length Wonders:
Red Queen by KS_Caster / @ks-caster
3-Part Series, Over 200k+ words. Season 4 Canon-Divergent. The last part is a WIP. I absolutely adored this fic when I first read it and I still adore it now. Klaus puts Caroline first and continues to put her first during the search for Silas' cure and it is fucking amazing. The werewolf/hybrid world building in the second fic inspired me to write more fics like it. It's not had as much attention since it was moved to AO3, but trust me, this fic is a hidden gem.
Wicked Schemes by willowaus / @willowaus
30 Chapters, 260k+ words. Season 1 TO Canon-Divergent. Ignores the baby plot. Caroline inherits the powers of a harbringer and the way its weaved into the fic so flawlessly makes you question if it wasn't just canon to begin with. Honestly epic world building. Wolf!Klaus also makes an appearance! A true klaroline classic.
make them bow. by for_darkness_shows_the_stars / @stars-and-darkness
35 Chapters, 220k+ words. Season 1 Canon-Divergent. Klaus is dropped into season one while Caroline is still human. Klefan bromance. Damon retribution. Forbes family dynamics. Klaus covered in blood. Council Members and Founding Family warfare. There's a reason this is the most commented-on fic in the entire fandom even though it's barely been out a year.
Binge-In-One-Sitting Multichaps:
Til I Tasted You by KiryTheStitchWitch / @kirythestitchwitch
4 Chapters, 22k. Canon Divergent/Soulmate AU. Will ruin you with single most devastating declaration of love in existence, forewarning you now.
throw roses into the abyss by marxandangels / @marxandangels
7 Chapters, 99k+. WIP. Technically Season 6 Canon-Divergent (after Liz dies) but ignores canon for the most part, especially TO wise. Explores the concept of humanity-less vampires so well, with a dash of world building on the side. Klaus and Caroline's relationship is also explored with such nuance --- like these two aren't just attracted to each other but entwined by their very souls, kind of nuanced. Oh, and the bloodsharing scene drawn by here by @stardust414 lives rent-free in my mind.
Someone's First Choice by unpublishednovelist
10 Chapters, 29k+. Post-Canon. This one's a WIP but I'm keeping my eye on it because it's good. Like hella good. Caroline decides to say fuck it and goes with some college friends to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, accomadation covered by our favourite Original hybrid. She breaks up with Tyler over voicemail. Queen shit.
All I Need by emeraldvixen
14 Chapters, 60k, E rated. Canon-Divergent/Wolf Mate AU. In the mood for some hot and steamy smut? Emeraldvixen's got you covered.
the fate makes for a lousy poet by for_darkness_shows_the_stars / @stars-and-darkness
7 Chapters, 50k+. Season 3 Canon-Divergent/Soulmate AU. The Originals in pajamas. Need I say more?
Who put Bella down the Wynch Elm? by for_darkness_shows_the_stars / @stars-and-darkness
7 Chapters, 60k+. Post-Canon. A murder mystery whodunnit with original side characters and Caroline in all her bad ass glory, after she's left Mystic Falls and its hellmouth-worthy shenanigans. Just - for a minute - imagine canon expanded on the tvd universe and revisted the fact the Originals are little more than nightmarish stories in the supernatural world, or that Stefan is the most infamous mass murderer on the east coast and maybe you'll understand how amazing this fic is.
Important to note these were all specifically Canon-Divergent multichaps. There's plenty more gems out there, just for different AUs and lengths. I also only looked at my ao3 bookmarks for this, so like, I'm probably forgetting several.
#klaroline#klaroline fanfiction#klaus x caroline#fanfiction#fanfic recs#as you can tell I am not normal about ella's fics#they're good fucking fics alright#anon ask#ask and ye shall receive

The Art and Making of Arcane (Masterlist)
I watched Arcane and loved it since the beginning! I got my hands on a PDF version of the artbook so I'll start posting screenshots of certain pages (like I did for the Avatar cookbook), I'm still deciding if I'll post the entire book or just some of the more interesting pages, regardless I will make a masterlist later DONE and link it to my pinned post so everything is easier to find!
The masterlist is in this post (under the image). ⬇️
For submissions and the schedule of posting: Info and Rules
For info on the China-Exclusive Art Book: Here (MASTERLIST)
As it's an PDF version some things are missing like Vander's letter, the jinx wanted poster, etc. Even the amazon list is incomplete, so i'm not really aware of what other things could be inside:
IN-WORLD EXTRAS: This stunning tome will also come with a trove of in-world extras. All editions of the book will include a Jinx poster, a removable map of Piltover, an in-world blueprint, a Vander Letter, fold-out spreads showcasing content from seasons one and two, and more.
I'm trying to buy a paperback English version of the book, which has proven to be very difficult. 😰 If i can find and buy one at a reasonable price, I will scan the extras and post them for people who also found the PDF, but can't buy the book (because of money or because it's almost out of stock everywhere). Due to some privacy related issues I will not give the site where I found the PDF, but it's pretty easy to find in my opinion [artbook name + PDF] , as long as you know one thing or two about pirating books, movies and shows.

Games I played in Winter 2024-2025
Tunic - The best game I've played in a long, long time. If you like zelda games, do not read reviews or look up a synopsis. Buy this and play it. Fear the eyes of the far shore.
Animal Well - THIS is how you make a metroid-vania. I'm still reeling at how goddamn good this is. Just the densest concentration of puzzles and exploration, sick art style, perfect and thicc like a pound cake.
Book of Hours - buuhhh, what to even say. I don't even know if I like this game. It's like a mosquito bite that I just want to keep scratching. It has taught me a new definition of insanity. Playing this makes me feel the same way I felt when I first started playing Civ 5.
Hollow Knight - Danny DeVito "I get it" meme, I see why people are so tied up in knots about Silksong. if I were 14 again and couldn't afford to buy games, I'd want this the most out of everything on this list, just for the depth and challenge.
Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye - It finally felt like it had been long enough since Tohru died for me to revisit this game, but I still thought about him the entire time. Nothing has really come close to how good the base game is, and this DLC captures 95% of that magic. The only flaw is how it's meant to slot into the main game rather than stand alone, so for someone like me who was just revisiting it to play the DLC, the ending didn't entirely work for me. Still, I get what they did and how they did it, and they made the right choice. I dreamt a happy dream about this game the night after I started playing it, and beat it the next morning.
Chants of Sennaar - This game was made for me, specifically. I wish the last couple levels were much longer, but partly because I just wanted to be in this world more. I really hope the creators of this do more with this style, and damn I wish there were more linguistics-based games out there. Banger soundtrack too.
Crypt Custodian - I had middling hopes for this one. The art style is cutesy, the movement is floaty, and the story seems silly right off the bat. I could not have been more wrong about everything. The combat is so crisp and reactive. It's a wonderful balance between forgiving enough that I never felt like I was being cheated, but difficult enough that I never one-shot a boss or even beat one without taking a hit. The world is vaster than I imagined it could be for a game of this scale, but fast travel is easy to come by. Even in my initial playthrough I never felt like I was being railroaded or having to backtrack and comb through areas again and again to figure out what my next step would be. Instead of a New Game+ or something there's a built in randomizer. Why is this the first game I've ever played that thought of this! Lastly, the story isn't really a story like a linear game would have. Each zone is an illustration of each of the characters, and they all fit together to paint a picture of what the afterlife is for our pets and other wild animals. An absolute masterpiece.
Yoku's Island Express - What if a metroid-vania was a tropical-themed pinball table? So cute and innovative, a delightful little 10-hour adventure that never felt like a slog or back-track city. One of the funniest sequel-bait endings ever; I hope they make one!
Talos Principle 2 DLCs - Another game specifically made for me. DLC 1 felt like a great little happy ending tying up the loose ends from the main story. DLC 2 was such a fun chill island vacation, felt like a victory lap. DLC 3 has some of the hardest individual puzzles I've ever experienced in a video game, but I'm proud to say I beat every last one without any outside help. If you think you can get down with Portal but with the humor swapped out with philosophy, this is that game.
Case of the Golden Idol - Absolutely blew me away, such a cool way of telling a story. Like, what if Where's Waldo committed a murder and you had to figure out not only how and why he did it, but also the occupation and favorite food of the victim's niece. Very Obra-Dinn: dark, funny, and precise. It's a little weird though, I played a bit of the demo of the sequel and it felt like diminishing returns, but I'm optimistic I'll enjoy it once I get around to buying the full version.
Balatro - Honestly the soundtrack is the biggest selling point, which is weird to say but what they do with it is kind of incredible. I get why it was the year's hottest new thang, and I totally got sucked into it for a good long while. At the end of the day it doesn't replace STS for me, though. Too mathy at higher levels, not vibes-based enough to jump in and have a fun run. I wish I had bought this for my phone instead of on Steam.
Celeste - Best, snappiest, and most precise platformer since super meat boy. An 8-way controller is a must though, I got so mad at my x-bone controller so many times that I stopped playing halfway through the B-sides, but that's not really the game's fault.
Transistor - Still my favorite Supergiant story after all these years. A tragedy for the ages. No other game does what this does with combat and encouraging you to switch up your gameplay. I spent hours in the Sandbox just trying out different combos and options. I think some reviews at the time disliked gating story elements behind your gameplay choices but in my opinion that's the point. The game isn't that hard and you don't need to play in a style you dislike for very long. Oh, and get the Sea Monster at Junction Jan's.
Ori and the Will of the Wisps - Not as good as the first one, but damn near close. A little more combat-focused, a little less platformy and movement-based. Much fewer escape-sequences, which is a huge relief, and I loved the new central hub. Felt like they had a really good thing going on with the first one that just needed some cleaning up and polishing, but they wanted it to be more like hollow knight or something and went too far in their tuning.
The Forgotten City - Kinda like if the Talos Principle and Outer Wilds had a lil baby. A little short but nailing the true ending is pretty satisfying. The less said about it the better, to keep its secrets, but it's essentially one big time-loop puzzle that's solved through talking to people and exploring this little Roman town. Absolutely loved the implementation of Galerius giving you the option of not having to redo things you've already unlocked or allowing you to go back and do things a different way. Like, for instance, one of the people is poisoned and dying, and you have the antidote. At the beginning of each loop you can give Galerius the antidote to give to her, run over and give it to her yourself, or let her die. The best part is, each of these three choices has a real impact on what happens that day, and what dialogue and information is unlocked.
Chicory - Lovely little adventure, good puzzles, top notch exploration, sick-ass boss encounters. I can't imagine how annoying it would be if you were only playing on controller without a mouse, though. Cute furry world where everyone is named after food. I was named pierogies.
Death's Door - Absolutely killer worldbuiilding and soundtrack, the vibes are almost completely perfect, and for the most part I loved the unique boss encounters. There are many weird or untuned things that bugged me, though, like getting completely stun-locked in corners and the weapons and upgrades being largely unnoticeable. The Gemsbok just did a video on this game, and it made me realize my biggest problem with the game. Past the first time you see each zone there is no sense of adventure. You walk (or mash the roll button) through a zone, clear out all the enemies, and find there's nothing to discover other than collectibles only accessible via a power you'll get later on. Literally only 1 of these 24 collectibles have a puzzle attached to it (and that being the only real puzzle in the game), so it felt like half my playthrough was spent roaming around The Overgrown Ruins looking for one more secret to check off my to-do list.
Myst - A classic for a reason, there was a ton in here that I forgot about. Very rough around the edges but that's like its whole thing y'know.
Hyper Light Drifter - One of those games that introduced the whole genre of Metroidvanias to me. So glad I revisited it and finally beat the last boss after 8 years. It's funny how much smaller it is than I remember, but the qol is on the money and the combat is as tight as it ever was. Just a fantastic game that I'd rate way higher if I wasn't already familiar with it.
Night in the Woods * So, this isn't really a game I guess, more of an interactive novel. If I didn't relate to the main character so much I think I'd be more gung-ho to dive further into it but it just makes me depressed. lol.
Toki Tori 2+ * Make no mistake, this is a full-ass adventure game, on par in terms of scale with HLD, Ori, and Yoku. The wild thing is that it presents itself as some sort of phone game or a Block Dude. Truly bizarre and devilishly challenging, but unfortunately once the world becomes open I lost track of my objective and didn't want to slog through the esoteric overworld and backtracking to hunt down a hidden path I missed 5 hours ago. Some day I'll find a guide and wrap this up.
Myst 3 - Coming off of the mind-bending difficulty that is riven, this felt like a day at a theme park. Great puzzles, totally immersive and inventive worlds, short and sweet, if a little silly at times.
Peglin - What if slay the spire was a Peggle? It can be fun and a challenge, but so, so annoying when one bad bounce that was out of your control ruins the whole run. I guess STS has that too, when your deck gets a bad shuffle and there's nothing you can do, but it feels like it happens way more often on the pegs. Also, a lot of the bosses can be totally steamrolled without too much thought, which is a little bit of a letdown since it doesn't really matter what your build looks like. As long as you keep in mind how you're going to beat a couple bosses like the painter and dragon, any other boss just doesn't matter.
Dredge - VERY fun fishing game, honestly doesn't even need the cthulu stuff. Doesn't overstay its welcome, and the ending is satisfying and earned. The most fun I had was just the first 3-5 hours rolling around, making money and upgrading my boat. There was a point where it felt more like a slog than a fun time, but I pushed through it and realized it wasn't that big of a push. Still, that's not exactly what you want.
The Sexy Brutale * It sells itself as a grand time-loop puzzle thing in the vein of Forbidden City or Outer Wilds, but it really isn't. Yes, everything takes place in one big mansion, but there's no exploration to be had here. Now, I'm a little further than halfway, solved 5/8 of the main story missions, and I can say that decisively because each of the cases is in a discreet wing of the mansion that is only unlocked once you've solved the previous one. It is intensely linear in a way I was not expecting. Don't get me wrong, it's lovingly crafted, and each puzzle feels unique, creative, and rewarding to solve. But between the checklist vibe of the progression gating, the rocky and sometimes clumsy controls, and repetitive animations, the game largely falls flat. Swing and a miss.
Little Inferno - Cute and fun, a neat little 2-hour experience. There are some surprisingly deep themes that poke in every once in a while, but ultimately it's little more than a bedtime story. A small mark against it, apparently I had already played and beaten this years ago when it came out and had no memory of it whatsoever.
Cave Story+ - Oddly enough another comparison to super meat boy in this list, it looks and feels like exactly what it is, a flash game that somehow got developed into a full-ass game. Surprisingly good though! I did not care for a lot of the humor that felt very lolrandom reference-based, but i guess that was just that era.
Vision Soft Reset * I got stuck on a difficult platforming section directly followed by a very tough fight, and gave up after maybe 30 attempts. Maybe I'll go back to it some day? The time travel aspect a very cool concept, and well implemented, but the game just feels a little too rough around the edges and flash-y. I really wanted to like this game more, but I think it's for someone else.
A Short Hike - Short is correct. A busy little furry island to chill out in for a few hours. Good dialogue and characters. Don't try to just beat the game, that's not the point. Do all the sidequests and talk to everyone, and take your time.
Dorfromantik - If they made A Quiet Year into a video game it would be this. Extremely chill, way too chill for me, but I could imagine how someone would get super into this.
Minit - If this was a free flash game it would be one of the best. I beat it in 1, maybe 2 hours, and had some fun, but I'm glad I got it off of Epic's giveaway
Played but not Beat:
Darkest Dungeon - I might dive into this for real some time, feels more punishing than XCOM but I like the combat setup and basic gameplay loop. I worry that there will be a point that the game becomes unwinnable or soft-locked, and I won't realize it and waste a ton of time.
Snakebird - Actually just a phone game, but cute and devious puzzle design a la Baba Is You. might never boot this up again unless I'm desperate.
Up Next:
Myst 4
Undertale
Enter the Gungeon
Kentucky Route Zero
(*) Asterisks indicate that I didn't finish the game.

AP Review: Reckless Attack - Main Campaign
Listen Here: https://www.recklessattack.com/episodes/
Quick info:
Audio Quality: High Quality and Edited, Effects, Music. Vibes: Lord of the Rings, Ghibli, Never Ending Story, Avatar the Last Airbender, Frogs Extras: Discord and Patreon rewards. System: 5e DnD Average Episode time: 1 hour Uploads 1 Episode per week. Campaign/ Show Length: Long Term Campaign Platforms: Podcast, Audio Only. Accessibility: Content Warnings Language available: English Diversity: AAPI/BIPOC Number of Episodes Review is based on: 100 (This is my first review so I decided to start with a Podcast I’m already caught up on) ** If you want the TLDR, scroll to the bottom of the post **
Why Reckless Attack?
I honestly believe that part of the draw of listening to people play a TTRPG is not just the story telling but an assurance that adults can somehow actually and consistently come together, in person, to pull off a full long term game. Reckless Attack is one such podcast. They are a small indie podcast with excellent audio quality and editing.
But, why should you listen to another high fantasy podcast? Well, have you ever wanted to see what a post-apocalyptic High Fantasy world would look like? The deeper you delve into Reckless Attack, the deeper the lore gets, and we have barely scratched the surface a hundred episodes in. You’ll join the players as they explore a world recovering from an apocalyptic event, ripe with magic and unstable artifacts, an undead army, and frogs.
Starting The Pod
Right out the gate, the listeners are greeted by a Lord of the Rings style opening monologue, giving relevant history and context to the kind of place the characters live in. I personally get the feeling a lot of the world was established in a previous game or between the DM and players prior to the start of this campaign. If, as a listener, it feels like you're missing something, don't worry; you'll get a lot more context down the road, especially once the players make it to the city of Agmar (Episode 15). The first 15 episodes are a nice slow build up.
Conveniently, the first recap episode covers Episode 1-14! (Though I really enjoyed the first 14 episodes, I know not everyone has the amount of listening time I have). If you are so inclined to start from the first episode, you'll get nicely eased into the characters and their relationships with one another before a lot of the bigger world building really starts to soar.
(My one caveat is that I listen to this podcast at 1.3-1.4 speed since the players and Nathan speak with a good amount of pauses, and that can be a little too slow for me.)
About the Team
Nathan, the DM for the main campaign, paints some amazing pictures of his homebrew world. He has a real talent for creating larger than life NPCs and Big Baddies for his players to interact with. They all have clear motivations, flaws, and personalities that truly rounds out the overall story. When it comes to plot, Nathan kept me on my toes with plot twists that would literally snap me out of whatever multitasking I was doing. And I must recognize how often Nathan opens the floor for the players to build parts of the story and describe longer stretches of downtime. Those moments are like the equivalent of cinematic montages to represent the passing of time.
The players, Sophie, Steve, David, and Jonathan, deliver wonderful descriptions and leave plenty of space for each other to speak, balanced with just the right amount of crosstalk. Each character has a very unique voice which is helpful for listeners (especially because David and Jonathan are twins and have similar voices).
Sophie plays Valeska Carter, the Human * Cleric. "Valeska is a young woman in search of answers. Like, compulsively."* I quickly fell in love with Val, an exhausted nerd who can never have enough notes and organization. If you're the kind of person who is always rescuing animals, you will love her too.
Steve plays Selv Asterlin, the Dragonborn Monk. "Selv’s years at his town’s icy mountain monastery has trained not just his body, but also his mind and emotions. The large dragonborn seeks to be a peacemaker in conflicts, exuding strength, calm and serenity while straying away from violence and lethal force when possible."* But don't be fooled, Selv is often one for the occasional good prank, and I always appreciate Steve's references even when the rest of the group don't understand them. (I got you Steve)
David plays Kascorin "Kass" Brightmane, the Dwarven Warlock. "Tomorrow (Kass leaves) this city for the Golden Tree adventuring guild, and in leaving this city, (He leaves his) friends, (his) family, and (his) comfortable life behind."* Kass is very grounded, serious, and focused, until he runs into tasty dried meats. Kass has all the charm of a warlock and the grit of a soldier.
Jonathan plays Checkers, the Gung Druid, with his trusty pals Mango and Junior. "Joining the Golden Tree adventuring guild on a dare, Checkers and his frog pal Mango are here to prove that it’s better to find your own path than to follow someone else’s. After all, where’s the fun in looking before you leap?"* Checkers is a lot like the characters I personally play. Someone who doesn't stand around for too much planning and prefers to "leap" into action. In my very humble opinion, every group needs an instigator.
I have also come to really admire the level of trust and respect the group has for one another. They handle both wonderful whimsical beats as well as solemn moments with great care (Episode 108 was magnificent.)
*Quoted from the official Reckless Attack website. You can find this and more at their website www.recklessattack.com. (Be aware, reading the available character sheets may contain spoilers)
About the World
Ryxia is built on a world where long ago, the Gods walked among mortals, but one day they left. As if in consequence, magic in this world seems to ebb and flow, and monsters roam the wilds. Until, the "second of Ryxia’s twin suns disappeared from the sky, the Ultragiants appeared, and the Pentarchy’s great capital city of Narhasur was turned into a smoldering crater." *
You can think of the Ultra Giants as the Titans of this world, being elemental and colossal. These Ultra Giants terrorized mortals until one day, the mortals managed to kill one " wielding their city’s Object of Focus… The object was destroyed, as was much of the army. But strangely, within days, the Ultragiants no longer stalked Ryxia."*
As the mortals re-emerged, they started to rebuild despite the incredible amount of monsters who now roam the lands.

Extras
Aside from the main campaign Nathan has his own series called Reckless A-Talk. This series Nathan or others on the team interview incredible people from all over the TTRPG space. Nathan's style of interviewing is mostly allowing his guest to speak more than he does, followed by the wonderful lightning round questions. I highly recommend listening to these (as a little treat) if you are interested in learning other perspectives and other aspects of the industry.
Bonus one shots are another part of Reckless Attack, allowing the players to take the reigns. They serve as fun filler for when you just can't wait for the next episode to drop.
And if that's still not enough content for you, you can always subscribe to their Patreon for even more content, including the very relaxed Reckless A-Snack.
TLDR
High Fantasy world rebuilding the world after mortals were nearly wiped out.
Listeners will get a good feel of the world within the first 14 episodes. (IMO, the pacing starts to pick up after Episode 14)
Here are "Tale Til Now," recap episodes for those who want to catch up faster. (Episodes 1-14, 14-42, 42-66, 67-84)
Non Player Characters are larger than life, with clear motives and personalities.
The Dungeon Master and Players share a lot of world building and you can feel the love and trust they have for each other.
Recommended listening at 1.3x-1.5x speed if you are one of those people (you know who you are).
Find more details about the world and characters at www.recklessattack.com.
Lots of extra content for those who just need more, including; interviews, one-shots run by the players, and patreon bonus content. https://www.patreon.com/recklessattack/home
Do you have ideas or suggestions? Please feel free to comment!

So, in regards to Hondo in Skeleton Crew since it's something I keep seeing people ask about: it was confirmed that he won't be appearing. Here's the specific bit from the article:
I’ve seen speculation that a live-action Hondo Ohnaka will appear in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. True or false? –Corey A freighter resembling Hondo’s was spotted in the distance at Port Borgo in Episode 2, but series creators Chris Ford and Jon Watts confirmed for me that we won’t be meeting the Clone Wars pirate. “We’ll rip off that Band-Aid and say no, we don’t have any Hondo,” Ford told TVLine. “Honestly, we love Hondo, but there wasn’t really a part in our story that offered a good enough role for him. Like, if we were trying to cast him in this, he would be like, ‘This part is not big enough for Hondo!'” Which is not to say Skeleton Crew, in success, won’t ever feature the interstellar buccaneer. “We would love to keep doing this,” Ford said, “and keep exploring the whole pirate side of the galaxy, and build up to that.”
There's always the chance they could be lying, but considering the wording, I don't think they are. But! He is coming in the next dlc for Star Wars Outlaws! No exact release date yet, sometime in spring. If you haven't played it yet, I highly recommend it.
Now on a side note, something else I've seen a lot of people ask/say in regards to Hondo showing up in media set after Rebels: isn't he already super old/dead/etc? Long story short, no. Short story long because I'm autistic and don't know when to shut up under the read more:
If you were somehow unaware (hoping that doesn't come off as judgmental, it's more of a surprised thing I swear!), he's actually a part of Galaxy's Edge aka "the Star Wars land" at Disneyland/Disney World, which is supposed to take place in between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker (so about 34 ABY). Or at least it was initially, they've been kind of loosening it up lately, but the two rides (Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, the latter of which Hondo is basically the star of) are still in that specific time range. So he's not dead nor is he going to die in anything set before the sequels (but then again, "Hondo Ohnaka survives every time", could be the Force keeps bringing him back to life to fuck with everyone).
In Legends, the approximate lifespan for his species (Weequay) was about 90 years of age. There's been no word on whether this is still canon or it's been made longer, but if it is still canon, it does give us an idea of how old he was in the various eras. If we're to assume he's somewhere between 80 to 85 years of age in 34 ABY (Lando, who he's shown to be on good terms with in issue 4 of the Halcyon Legacy comic, is 77/78 years in 34 ABY for reference), that would make him:
Between 25 to 30 years old when he's first introduced in The Clone Wars
Between 42 to 47 years old when he's first introduced in Rebels
And last but not least, between 55 to 60 years old in 9 ABY, which is (supposedly) when The Mandalorian/Skeleton Crew/etc takes place
Somewhere in the middle is most likely, since the younger estimate would put him at only 14 years old in 32 BBY (during The Phantom Menace), but 17 to 19 years old isn't that wild considering what we've seen older kids/teenagers deal with in this franchise. It's not completely unrealistic that someone with a background like his would be just starting off leading a group of pirates in his late teens.
Anyway, what's he been up to since Rebels? He actually founded his own Totally Legitimate Shipping Company, Ohnaka Transport Solutions, sometime in between 1 ABY and 4 ABY prior to the Battle of Endor. It's currently (as in, 34 ABY currently) based in Black Spire Outpost on Batuu, though whether it was always there is unknown. Also at some point he got himself a ship that he named the Katooni...yes, like that Katooni. In fact, it's the one mentioned in the above interview about Hondo appearing in Skeleton Crew, so in a sense, he might have already had a indirect cameo!
Sources for most of this/recommended reading: Pirate's Price, The Secrets of the Bounty Hunters, and Halcyon Legacy #4. If you're looking for Hondo content outside the shows, read these. Especially Pirate's Price if you've always wondered what it'd be like if Han and Hondo met. And as previously mentioned, Halcyon Legacy #4 has him with (the real) Lando.
#hondo ohnaka#skeleton crew#star wars#oh god why is this so long. i didn't mean it to be this long#i haven't even reblogged any skeleton crew stuff yet!#i love it though!

Compromise Arc 1, Chapter 9: Behind-the-Scenes Commentary
Continuing my commentary as I reread what I've published of Compromise!
Reminder: I will NOT include any spoilers for anything post-Chapter 9! Spoilers for anything from Chapters 1-9 are fair game, as is anything mentioned in other stories like Daemon's Handbook and The Golds.
Chapter Title is "Sisterhood." It starts off mostly referring to just Luce and Jace's relationship, but it expands to all of the girls at Dragonstone, particularly Luce and Baela at the end.
I glossed over Aemond's first dragon ride because it's basically the same as in show canon, and I didn't want to rehash it. To make up for it, I showed Luce's first dragon ride! At first I was going to make it her first time riding on Arrax ever, but I realized it would be unwise to let a child ride on a small dragon over the water ALONE for the first time. So instead I showed it as a gradual process, where Luce has been doing little spurts of flight with Arrax around the island, but now she's graduated to crossing the water to Driftmark.
“You don’t even use a harness half the time you fly on Caraxes!” To canon!Aemond's misfortune…
Daemon is a chaos gremlin, but he's really serious about dragons. He developed a whole curriculum for beginner dragonriders. He picked fourteen key dragon commands that he thinks all dragonriders should know by heart. 14 is a reference to the fourteen flames of Valyria.
"he gave her weird looks when he caught her making blankets and toys for Arrax." Well maybe Caraxes wishes you would give him blankets and toys, Daemon!!!
It's fun to explore the different relationships that each Targkid has with their dragon. Arrax is like Luce's pampered pet. Aegon and Sunfyre are bros. Vermax is Jace's prized show horse. Vhagar is (grand)Mother.
"Now that Rhaenyra was pregnant, there was no getting rid of Daemon." Luce and Daemon have reached the frenemy stage of their relationship lmao.
The silver and jade hairnet that Rhaenys gives to Luce is in Velaryon colors, of course.
Arrax is easily distracted (by gulls). Just like his rider! He also loves playing games (like slap-slap). Just like his rider!
Other than a few recognizable High Valyrian words, I generally don't translate the things that my characters say to their dragons to High Valyrian. Nobody, other than maybe a handful of people in the world who are reallyyyy into it, is fluent in High Valyrian IRL. I let it be implied that the Targs are speaking in HV to their dragons. Also, it's not an oversight that Luce speaks so intimately/casually to Arrax! I imagine her as having a really good eye and ear for spoken HV, even if she isn't great at the written part or sitting down to translate things for lessons.
Dreamfyre and Vermax are gossiping about Sunfyre. Dreamfyre: "He's been soooo moody, it's so annoying!" Vermax: "Oh noooo, is he really??? Tell me more!"
“He is loyal and protective. A good choice for a child’s firsts. I’m glad you have him now.” Helaena what do you meaaannnn? (I know what she means.)
Helaena is playing with a blue beetle, which she has named Aemond, because metaphors.
Luce asks why Aemond picked a sapphire, and Helaena responds by humming "Laenor's favorite sea shanty," which we know is Girl in Blue. HMMMMMMM.
“Not alone yet. I am chaperoning.” Helaena has a feeling she's going to be alone soon—which she will be, when Aegon and Aemond leave for the Stepstones.
The scene where Luce discovers Aegon and Jace getting ~cozy~ is possibly one of my favorite things I've ever written. Oh Luce, never change.
Aegon and the tadpole snark. He's not a zoologist, that's for sure. Luce, on the other hand, is very familiar with aquatic creatures.
“I’ll marry you as many times as you want. Just tell me when and where and how many goats to sacrifice.” This line shouldn't be as romantic as it feels to me!!! Aegon's making a joke about Valyrian blood rituals, why is it so romantic???
As you probably know if you're reading this, you can find the story of Aegon hiring the drunk septon in Smallfolk Tales!
Aegon is totally fine with roughing it on the beach. Aemond could never. (Well, he kinda does at the Stepstones. He hates it.)
Luce's favorite honey-nut pastry is supposed to be something like baklava. It takes a lot of prep work! Rhaenys knew Luce was coming and wanted to mark the occasion of her first big dragonflight.
There are hints that Rhaenys knows something about Aegon's presence. If she knows Aegon is there, why is she not doing anything about it? I don't want to delve too deeply into it, because I might write a little Rhaenys POV one day. But I will say that in this AU, Rhaenys is a staunch supporter of Jace, not necessarily Rhaenyra.
Rhaenys's S1 hair is something I giggle about a lot. It looks conical, almost like a hennin, in my opinion. So Luce makes a joke on my behalf about Rhaenys's hair: it's big because it's full of secrets!
Aegon just casually making sandcastle masterpieces after a nap. Truly the spirit of an artist.
Aemond the Beetle disappearing when Luce reaches for him. Is it a metaphor???? (Yes. Yes it is.)
Daemon used to be a soldier, so I don't imagine he's in the habit of accumulating clutter. That's why his room is so plain, other than the bookshelves.
Baela is the one who noticed Luce hiding under the bed. Baela herself is prone to occasionally hiding under beds, so she glanced down and noticed there was an intruder. Then she and Rhaena had a bit of twin telepathy, and they hung back while Daemon went down to the docks.
Baela and Rhaena's interrogation styles are similar to Daemon and Laena's, respectively. Baela/Daemon are more "force it out of them," Rhaena/Laena are more "I'll be the good cop to their bad cop so I can coax out the info I want."
“Show no mercy, take no prisoners." I wonder whom Baela learned that from??? What a mystery, we'll never know.
Joff is actually really excited to be asked for help. Nobody ever asks her for help because she's the baby.
Daemon would murder so many people if it meant getting his hands on the journey that maybe belongs to Visenya. Joff knows this, and she's never going to tell him she has it because it amuses her to keep it a secret from him. The book was hidden really well so the servants missed it while cleaning, but Joff is VERY methodical. Also she loves the idea of secret panels and doors, so she was intentionally searching for them.
Joff thinks she'll get to match with the new baby like all the other girls match with each other. Alas, Alyssa is going to match with Viserra instead. Joff will still be the odd one out.
The barley and wheat pee test was used in ancient Egypt (I think) to predict a baby's sex. I can't say if it actually works, but Joff thinks it does.
Joff is a little too eager to suggest making a blood oath lol.
I love how Luce and Joff have the same reaction to the news of the Jacegon planned elopement: "Of course that's what will happen! They're supposed to marry each other."
As mentioned in a previous commentary, Joff knows a surprising amount of information about other people because she listens and they don't pay attention to her.
“Kissing is gross, so you wouldn’t do it unless you really like the person you’re kissing.” Demisexual Joff makes an appearance!
It was a bit tricky writing Luce's reaction to Laenor being gay. In Westeros, homosexuality is something people don't talk about openly and generally not approved of. But Luce really loves Laenor, and she's young enough that she's still formulating a lot of her worldviews, so she can adapt to the idea that her father—whom she knows was not in a love match with her mother—might have been gay. Also, even though Luce tries to conform to societal norms as she gets older, she doesn't actually like a lot of those norms, so she's more willing to dismiss them.
I received an Ask once why Aegon goes to brothels when he loves Jace. I mean, he's a 14-year-old boy with a lot of privilege and not a lot of impulse control. He's prone to making poor decisions. He's also growing up in a society where it's expected of rich young men to sow their oats before settling down. Meanwhile, Jace is a very self-conscious 12-year-old girl who, like many young girls, is constantly second-guessing herself around the guy she likes. She doesn't want to risk losing Aegon's regard by haranguing him, even though we (and Luce) know that Aegon would do what she says if she asked.
"Rhaena was still unconvinced. Lucera tried a logical argument instead of an emotional one." A bit of evidence that Luce IS smart, even if she doesn't do well in the schoolroom! Also she has pretty good emotional intelligence and changes tactics when she realizes Plan A isn't working.
"I think Mother just doesn’t like Aegon because he’s the king’s firstborn son.” Rhaenyra has a few other reasons, but this is indeed part of why she doesn't like Aegon!
And as soon as Rhaena is convinced, she joins the little Jacegon fan club lol.
Historically, clothes and fashion were VERY important. They weren't frivolous. Clothes literally told you what somebody's position in society was. That's why there used to be sumptuary laws that prohibited people from dressing "above their class." Rhaena isn't being silly and girlish when she places so much importance in what Jace wears, even to a secret ceremony.
Luce is aware that the adults have favorites, but she's Corlys's favorite so she's OK with that. She was also Laenor's favorite when he was alive.
Rhaenyra still has a lot of unresolved trauma about Aemma's death, so she's made it her mission to ensure her daughters know what they're in for. Luce and the older girls are old enough for betrothals, so Rhaenyra let them in the room. Honestly though, Joff would probably have handled it better than Luce.
Luce put so much effort into her appearance for Aemond, and he isn't even at the elopement. :(
Joff is the youngest but she's making the big sacrifices! Ughh. Don't worry, Joff, you get to see the Even Goldener Wedding in a few years.
"It’s dark here, and I’m afraid.” Lucera Velaryon, master manipulator.
Slap-slap could have gone VERY badly for Steffon! Kids don't always think about these things though.
Aegon was there when Aemond had his big downward spiral because of Luce's "letter," so Aegon isn't happy when Luce asks about Aemond. Why didn't Aegon ask Jace about the letter during their secret meetings? Because they have to make the most of what limited time they have together, and Aegon doesn't want to waste it talking about the twat. :) Aegon doesn't have much reason to think there was something suspicious about the Letter, so he doesn't have much incentive to ask.
Aemond stays behind supposedly to act as a distraction, but part of him did chicken out at having to see Luce again. :(
"Lucera wasn’t sure why her mother was so surprised. Helaena was very nice and helpful." Here we have Luce's self-centered worldview. Helaena is nice and helpful to the Velargirls because they're close. Helaena isn't close to Rhaenyra at all, so Rhaenyra wasn't expecting Helaena to do her any favors.
Really, Helaena offers for Jace's sake because “Dragons have hot blood.” I don't think Helaena needs dragon dreams to expect that Jace, who is only 13 at this time, will almost certainly have a difficult pregnancy and childbirth if Aegon manages to consummate the marriage and impregnate her.
Joff is genuinely so happy for Jacegon~~~
Luce is so afraid of being rejected by Aemond that she doesn't try at all to communicate with or speak to him before the Stepstones. It's too bad that she didn't take to heart Rhaenyra's lesson about how it's better to try something and regret it than to not try at all.
If one good thing came out of Luce's fight with Aemond, she learned not to hold grudges against Baela forever.
"It was just a dream, though. And she was old enough to know better." And with that, we say goodbye to kid!Luce as we know her, because now she's forcing herself to grow up. :(
And that's it for the Arc 1 commentary! As usual, I had fun with the commentary, and my creative juices are actually flowing again for Compromise! Please feel free to keep the comments and Asks coming.

I'm stuck in bed sick, so I figure I might as well copy one of my favorite moots @thirstkanaphan and show you guys the k-pop bops I've discovered over my twelve months of delving into this world. Got any recommendations based on what you're about to see? Send 'em my way!
Artist & title are Spotify links; thumbnails are YouTube Music (☞゚ヮ゚)☞
1. YUTA - BAD EUPHORIA
youtube
Did I start this k-pop list off with a rock song by a Japanese idol? Yes I did. This is my absolute favorite solo project to come out last year (sorry, Jaehyun). I'm a rock girlie at heart so I was going to love this album regardless, but this song seriously slaps. Its 90s alt-rock vibes hype me up like nothing else.
2. VIXX - Error
I've been obsessed with this song ever since @psychopsemantics played it for me. I'm a sucker for EDM jams with impressive vocals, which really seem to abound in k-pop. Great news for me :3 This is the first time I've seen the video though and... it's very 2014 lol (the fuck is on homeboy's head??)
3. WayV - After Midnight
youtube
Because it's WayV, the lyrics are unapologetically horny. That aside, the retrowave vibes and danceable beats got my attention with Xiaojun and Ten's improvisations at the end rendering me speechless every time. They sound so damn good.
4. Day6 - Love Me Or Leave Me
youtube
I can thank San for this group. They were part of my introduction to k-rock, a genre I'm still exploring. I have yet to hear a track that I didn't at least like, but this one in particular sets off fireworks in my brain.
5. iKON - BUT YOU
youtube
While binging all of "KINGDOM: Legendary War" I decided to check out each group. I ended up digging a lot of iKON's library, but especially this track. You know, the one with retro vibes and an energetic drumbeat. I'm learning a lot about myself with this post.
6. Lim Hyunsik - See The Light
youtube
Hyunsik has one of my favorite voices ever. EVER. It's so velvety and rich and deep, but then he has the nerve to demonstrate masterful vocal technique on top of it, as expected from any member of BTOB (please listen to "The Young Man and the Deep Sea"!) This song was written for the drama "When The Phone Rings" and thusly jumpscares my sister every time she hears it start.
7. JAEHYUN - Completely
youtube
I've got a thing for voices and Jaehyun's smoky baritone just makes me melt. However, he shows off a seldom-utilized delicate falsetto in the chorus of this track, a gorgeous piano ballad. This is one of my favorite songs to sing around the house lately.
8. CIX - Save me, Kill me
youtube
Boy howdy am I noticing a trend with some of these songs. Anyway. Here's another proto-rock pop song with a driving beat and layered vocals. I hear the group itself is in a bit of turmoil, so I guess I'm glad to have found this beforehand.
9. NCT DREAM - UNKNOWN
youtube
I like NCT DREAM as a group of people, but don't really vibe with the majority of their catalog. Very poppy, saccharine music doesn't really appeal to me. I'm so grateful that they took a risk with this album as I know I'll be playing it in its entirety for the rest of my life. This song specifically brought me to tears the first time I heard it.
10. ATEEZ - Promise - Notation from Senor Juwon Park
youtube
Did anyone think I wasn't going to include at least one ATEEZ track? No? Good. You get me. ANYway, I adore "Promise," but since hearing this version the original feels seriously lacking. Park Juwon is an incredible guitarist and he lends the perfect amount of Latin flavor to this song.
Thanks for reading through all this! I hope you found something you like ^^ Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a lot more music to check out! (~‾▿‾)~

Magic Future au
Some of the basics:
Usually when I’m drawing an older Timmy unless specified otherwise it’s probably for this au
This entire a use, basically my own personal headcanons of what I think Timmy’s future should be also in know that anything past season six that happened in the show is not canon
So no Chloe , no sparky , no foop (there is a version of an anti-poof. It just doesn’t align with what the show portrayed.)
Wishology is also on thin ice. I am going to pick and choose what I do and do not want from that special.
There’s also gonna be quite a sprinkle of Nicktoons unite in here because universal travel is silly
The for main ages that I focus on for Timmy are 10 (really more like 11) 14, 19 and 32 I’m gonna post a visual aid later to show where he’s at on those four points later
But there’s a reason for each of these ages being focused on 10 11 is focused on potential episodes I thought of as well as for those of you who know my OC Cinnamon who is Tootie’s godparent so this age is mostly used to explore new relationship dynamics between the cast, with is such a change
14 is really used to explore that awkward teenage phase and is right before Timmy has his gender epiphany. Also, a lot of relationship drama is 14 and figuring things out. There are going to be a lot of ups and downs.
19 is the one you’ve seen the most of on my page, he’s confident he’s shameless he’s Timmy! interacts the most with the Nicktoons gang currently dating Jimmy. I wanted to skip ahead to 19 instead of 18, because 18 would be dealing with the no fairies memory issues drama. 19 however, they were essentially cut a small deal. Cosmo and Wanda are temporarily suspended from being godparents. Timmy doesn’t lose his memories however, he also doesn’t get to keep Cosmo and Wanda as god parents, but he gets the small bottle of fairy dust that he keeps around his neck at all times for emergencies
It’s also an indicator that he’s essentially part of the magical world. Timmy was allowed to keep his memories and magic in his life for 3 reasons
Reason 1 saving fairy world countless times is one of them
Reason number 2 really just amounts to poof’s existence because I’m doing his wishes and memories under does poof
And reason number 3 Timmy is just far too ingrained into fairy culture, everyone in fairy world knows him. He’s a minor celebrity. He spent holidays there, he invented, and is the announcer for the Fairy Olympics. And to put it simply the people there know him and no other God kid has ever gotten that much notoriety in fairy world. He is one of them.
Anyway, back to the ages 32 seems like a jump, but that’s because it takes place during ‘new wish’ with Hazel. Ok hear me out for this one. I love the ending of channel chasers everyone does, but I’m also want Timmy to keep the magic in his life so a compromise.
Fairy warden Timmy you know him you love him I’ve always believed that if Timmy was gonna be anything, he was gonna be a goddamn lawyer, with the amount of times that boy has gone to court
In the episode, a wish to far Timmy makes a series of selfish wishes, and Jorgen takes him to court saying hey, you don’t get your fairies anymore you suck’. Essentially, Timmy had no real defense outside of Cosmo and Wanda, who are a biased party and who Jorgan never listens to so in theory
If this is a thing that Jorgan regularly does, I feel like the kids who get called on like this should get a defense lawyer, a.k.a. Timmy! Being a fellow fairy warden means he has just as much authority as Jorgen as well as previously being a human means he understands where the kids are coming from because fairies have been shown to not fully understand how humans work so tend to be biased, which is why Timmy would be the perfect lawyer on the kids side!
Anyway, Timmy is a fairy warden/lawyer
As for how channel chasers plays into this, we’ve got a double life situation going on here we’re technically, while he still works as a fairy he lives as a human (also, he’s not a full fairy just stating that since fairies are born, not made he technically qualifies as a separate species. Most people call him a pseudo- fairy. Jorgen called him a demon, and because he called him a demon. That’s technically his species name now lol)
But anyway, Tommy and Tammy exist and are still Timmy’s kids who don’t know their dad is a fairy so it’s like a gravity falls trying to figure out the mystery situation where they’re pretty sure their dad isn’t human but they don’t know what he is
Also, Cosmo and Wanda are Hazel’s godparents since they’re no longer on suspension at this point
Poof is probably like in whatever the equivalent of fairy high school is
#that was a longer rant than I intended#fairly oddparents#fop#timmy turner#text post#cosmo and wanda#magic future au#btw Tootie is the mother#but they’re divorced#but like in a chill way no hard feelings

Hi Anna!!!! I hope you're taking care of yourself :3 For the writers ask game, in regards to MYLYSW:
1, 2, 5, 9, 11, 13, 14
Please take care Anna, and I wish you lots of energy and inspiration and good moments to do the things you want to do :3
Oh, Moon, hello-hello!
*sigh* I'm not very good because one of my chronical health problems came back yesterday, but well, I'm as fine as I can be, considering all the circumstance, but thank you a lot for your words and questions!
It was such a great distraction to answer all of it about My Yellow Light in Your Soft Whispers ( ◜‿◝ )♡
1 What inspired you to write the fic this way?
From the very start, I really wanted to explore Annie's character and far, far into the future, where she already experiences a lot of new things and the date of her death, when she was under curse, long expired. But since this whole traumatic event happens at the very beginning, all the next chapters are the mix of the past and the present. I think, that when something terrible happens to us which shatters all the world we knew, we always tend to look at the past, how the things used to be with the sweet longing and nostalgia. And yet, with these flashbacks I also want to show that not everything was so unclouded back then. They were happy, but didn't they just simply convince themselves for it because "this is how it should be"? Plus, all the flashbacks + the present events work together with Unreliable narrator tag - Annie IS unreliable narrator, and that's why some things the reader should read with sort of skepticism.
I think that is such a mix of the past and the present is a great way to show how messy Annie's mind is - she's constantly looking back, not even realizing that some things she sees the way she wants to see, and completely ignoring the present. The past - is her salvation. But is it a blissful oblivion or life-saving escape? Who knows. And this is what I also try to explore in this fic, and that's why we have s great amount of flashback in (almost) every chapter.
2 What scene did you first put down?
Oh, Moon, thank you a lot for this question, because the very first scenes that appeared in my mind are quite the backbone of the whole fic. One of them, is the scene from Chapter 5, with the reveal what really happened that day in March; another one - it's the scene I'm actually writing right now (like, right now-now, I made a break to answer your ask) from Chapter 10, and also the very beginning - this whole day in March was very vivid in my mind, when the first idea came to me, particularly, the scene on the stage - and the transition to AruAni's cottage, where a few times I play with readers making them believe that it was dream - or not - until we realize that it really DID happen. I did my best to confuse the readers as much as possible, and I hope it played out because I really wanted to show how much this day in March affected Annie and how it sets the whole narration rhythm from the start: we can't trust her fully, and yet, to find where's the truth which is the part of her healing, this is what I try to do.
Another scene, it's going to be a bit later, and it's maybe of the most emotional moment in the whole fic. This moment is one of the main catalyst for Annie's character, and I'm quite nervous for it, but well... I don't think too much about it for now, since we have a long way to go :D
5 What part was hardest to write?
This part is actually only yet to come... In the next chapter, 11. This is something that was, let's say, in the second wave of brainstorming for the MYLYSW plot, and I was eager to write it since the beginning, but because this scene is also VERY emotional and marking the new route for AruAni, it's a very responsible scene.
9 Were there any alternate versions of this fic?
There's some very, very, very rough idea of the alternative scenario where Armin never wakes up from his "coma", but I dismissed this idea almost right away because I wanted primarily to explore how two souls overcome something so grave and something so earth-shattering, finding the love - for yourself, for the life and for each other - once again, from the knife-edge pieces of their past scattered around. So I dismiss this very tragic scenario, and stick to "Angst with Happy ending", where through all the difficulties and turmoil, hope and desire to live are much stronger than everything, much stronger than death.
11 What do you like best about this fic?
You know, I left this question for the very end when I was answering all the previous ones because it's always a bit difficult for me to say what "I like" about my writing (and I know you know, and you asked me this question on purpose :D), and after some though I realized that I really cherish this fic for the rawness of emotions and feelings. For the way how it's all so honest that it could you even uncomfortable, how bare and how on display these characters, or, in particular, Annie is. I really wanted to reach this borderline of frankness and truth where is nowhere to hide. I don't know if I succeed, but I do my best to show nothing without sugar-coating and to dive so deep into character's mind, that sometimes it may be scary to see what really hides beneath all layers.
And I think, that this is what I like the most about this fic. How honest and raw it is.
13 What music did you listen to, if any, to get in the mood for writing this story? Or if you didn’t listen to anything, what do you think readers should listen to to accompany us while reading?
Oh, I have the whole Playlist for this fic, and it's 11 hr 42 min... If anyone is interested, I can share it, but please let me know T^T
And I have a few "main OSTs" for this story which are like the main lead music that settles the whole mood and vibe of the fic, and here it is:
14 Is there anything you wanted readers to learn from reading this fic?
I'll refer with my answer for this question to my answer for the question 9, too: I really want to give hope to everyone who is going through very difficult times that, no matter what, the sun will always come. Even if everything looks so devastating, gloomy, scary and absolutely terrifying, I just want everyone to feel that the things don't get better overnight - it's a process. Long and something torturous, but it's a process, and every day, step by step, you're closer to the moment when things will be better. No matter how angsty this fic is, it has a happy ending, a catharsis which declares that any desire to live is stronger than anything, then death itself, and that it's worth fighting for. You are worth fighting for you, and your happiness is wort it.
For me, this fic is also a reminder for myself. That no matter how difficult and scary my life is, everything ends. The last three years are the pure nightmare for me, and yet, I get up every day with the thoughts that my life is worth it, it's worth to open my eyes and it's worth to cherish it. It's worth the future. And this fic - this is also for me, and for everyone who lost their paths and their grounds. I really hope to give this hope and to show how two completely lost and broken souls find happiness and peace, and if anyone, who will read this fic, will feel some ray of hope or sign to move forward - I'll be enormously happy. Truly.
This fic is like the transition season between winter and spring: first, it's snow that melts, the barren, dry soil peeks trough the piles of dirty mess which is not even snow anymore, but just some slobs. Nights are still cold, maybe even with the frost. The sun starts shine more, but still cold. But some first petals and buds start to bloom - and they're first to die because the winter didn't leave fully. But, with each day. the sun is warmer, the snow melts into the soil and gives water to the new flowers, and the trees blossom with young leaves - and March, this endless March, when the weather always deceives you, finally go and here comes the spring, when everything is born again.
Thank you so much, Moon, for all these questions, and, to be honest, while I was answering all of it, I realized more about my own story then it was before... So thank you for it, always (っ˘з(˘⌣˘ )

puppy your game collection is beautiful i dont know what most of those are except like the disgaeas (because youve explained them before), disco elysium (the occasional meme crosses my dash), roblox, and undertale maybeeeeee you could give me a tour of the others you like and what theyre about and stuff! whats muse dash ouppy that sounds like a rhythm game ^w^
thank you i know its incredible :3c soo here it is again i will go game by game and yap my ouppy little head off im sorry
starting from the left! desmume is a DS emulator that i got to play puyo puyo fever, a fullmetal alchemist ROM and a lucky star ROM and PPSSPP is a PSP emulator i got for uhh. i cant remember which game i specifically installed it for. i think it was puyo puyo fever 2?
roblox is. you know. roblox
my hero one's justice is a demo i downloaded from steam which i have not actually played LMAO i got the demo to see if i wanted to buy the full game but i guess its pointless because i havent bothered to check out the demo
class of 09 and class of 09 re-up (the sequel) are visual novels, hard to explain what theyre about.. basically its all about toxic evil yuri and drug abuse and self harm. its like if needy streamer overload was about coked up high school lesbians
disgaea pc is the second best game ever made
disgaea 2 pc is the number 1 best game ever made. no further explanation necessary
i have not actually played dont starve yet, it was recommended by a friend so i bought it during the steam summer sale for like 2 bucks. from what ive heard, its a survival game, kinda like minecraft if minecraft was way harder and the game hated you
disco elysium is the same, recommended by a friend, i bought it for super cheap during the summer sale, and have not touched it yet LMAO
muse dash is a rhythm game yes and its FUCKIGN INCREDIBLE. AND IM AMAIZNG AT IT. LOOK AT THESE SCORES BONESY ARENT YOU PROUD OF ME
full combo means i hit every note and didnt miss a single one >:3 im genuinely really good at the game not 2 brag,,, and YES you saw that right, hatsune miku and kagamine rin and len are playable characters!! they come with two respective DLCs which also come with a bunch of vocaloid songs and i bought them both <3 these are their sprites in game!

and if you buy it it gives you a bunch of adorable art on the loading screens :3 this isnt even all of them just a few i screenshotted. if i screenrecorded myself killing it in muse dash would you watch the video teehee...
ok back to game yapping. leaf blower revolution is an idle clicker game i got for free on steam, which i got insanely hyperfixated on for three days and played for like 14 hours straight once and then gave up and never touched it again
yume nikki is a little pixelated adventure game where you explore around a girl's weird dreams. the soundtrack is INCREDIBLE especially this song. its transcendental. listen to it while youre high trust me you have to
DDLC requires no explanation i think. its ddlc. you know what it is theres no way you dont
the song of saya (saya no uta) i will be yapping extra about because i LOVE IT. its a horror eroge visual novel about a guy named fuminori who, after a brain surgery, sees the entire world and other people as a disgusting fleshy abomination, whereas everything looks normal to other people. for example this:
is a completely normal hallway. but it looks like that to him. then he meets a girl name saya, who is the only thing in the world that looks normal to him, and he falls in love with her
and i reeeally really dont wanna spoil it cause its really good and i highly recommend you go watch it (theres a full playthrough on youtube) but lets just say saya is Not as normal as she looks.
celeste is a game ive only played a little of, but i love it so far. its a platformer about a trans woman named madeline climbing celeste mountain, and encountering a personification of her self doubt that she has to overcome to get to the top. i lovee the style of the game its so pretty and way easier than i expected it to be, which is great for me because im garbage at every game in the world that isnt muse dash or disgaea
disgaea 4 and disgaea 5 are self explanatory. i ADORE d4, though im not super far into it, but i havent started d5 yet im waiting until i finish d1 and 4
