Might be a hot take, but I don't like Nancy and Robin bonding and falling in love because of shared trauma. I don't like Nancy falling for Robin because Jonathan hasn't been there when she shot Vecna or when the vines got her, but Robin was. I don't like Robin falling for Nancy because she's the only one who understands her experiences with the upside down, or vice versa.
I like them hanging out and finding out each other's quirks and slowly falling for each other, realizing that the feelings they're feeling isn't friendship. I want them both ranting to Steve about one another. I want Nancy to look at Robin and realize how weird she is, and that's why she loves her. I want Robin to think Nancy's straight, I want Nancy to think she's straight too and for her feelings to be confusing. I want them dancing in the rain. I want them getting drunk with Steve and Eddie, and being the only ones left awake, talking about shared interests. I want them to show each other their respective music and movie tastes. I want them to, despite the upside down, have a normal romance.
Because, after a rewatch, has Nancy truly been in love with anyone outside of the bonds she's made through traumatic events?
#no hate to anyone who writes them like this tho ive read some bangers#this take might be a little hot i fear#bit of a robin rant#if you will#nancy wheeler#robin buckley#ronance#stranger things

I will never be over Leo’s 4D chess play in “Many Unhappy Returns”. Like, just in general it is a spectacle to see this character who we’ve seen goofing around time and time again, who’s only sometimes decided to take things seriously, only to show him making a maneuver like that.
And here’s what gets me the most about his plan against Big Mama: he comes up with it on the spot. The second he sees that Big Mama has the solution they need, he’s already in game mode.
It is so satisfying watching the episode back when you realize his plan, because he literally sets the stage entirely for a decisive victory. He sees that the champion is a kraken, and comes up with both the solution to defeating it and a reasonable excuse to get that solution into the battle with them on the fly:
“Like your champ aaand those six guys. In fact, we don’t want this over too quickly. You should armor up those rookies. The whole shebang. Especially with these pointy helmets.”
And this is why giving him teleportation powers is perfect, too. He analyzes the battlefield and makes use of all the assets, moving pieces around to guarantee a win. It is honestly so impressive to witness and one of my favorite parts of his character.

The batfam aren't allowed to play hide and seek with each other bc it will get dangerous and life threatening very quickly.
They aren't allowed to play with other people bc the one time they did, all of the bats went missing for a week. The supers ended up having to be called in so they could track heartbeats.

Grey
Steve Harrington x fem!reader
Synopsis: Steve gets a wake up call from yall's daughter
Contents: talks of aging, kids being kids, references to smut but nothing explicit
Steve groans as his consciousness comes to. Something is hitting his face. Someone. Repeatedly.
Steve squints his bleary eyes open as a hand smacks him in the jaw again. A small smile appears on his face even though his jaw stings from the impact. "Morning," Steve's voice is still thick with sleep as he turns to look into brown eyes barely peeking over the edge of the bed.
A quiet voice repeats back ,"Morning," to Steve before arms reach up over the edge of the bed to try and grasp something. Small hands grab the blanket and tug it off of him slightly as the child attempts to climb up. At two and half, Amelia Joy Harrington can barely see above the edge of her parents' bed, let alone get on it.
Steve hoists Amelia up and sits her on his stomach. Steve winces as Amelia scrambles, a stray foot hitting his thigh precariously close to his crotch. Arms are thrown around his neck in a hug as Amelia lays her head against her dad's chest.
Steve feels like his heart could burst out of his chest from the joy he is feeling. A hug from his baby? The best way to wake up in the morning. Who cares if his jaw is still stinging and probably red, his little girl loves him.
Steve sighs in contentment. Steve holds his daughter close until she starts to fidget and wiggle. Amelia sits up and throws her hands in the air. "Happy Birthday!" She whispers excitedly, except she has no concept of how quiet a whisper should actually be and says it in a much too loud voice.
"What?" Steve asks, hand hovering near Amelia's side in case she slips. Amelia's eyebrows furrow as she pouts at him, a look that is an exact copy of you. Her arms slowly lower as she stares at Steve. "Happy Birthday. You old." Amelia pouts at him.
Steve blinks at Amelia in confusion but nods his head. First off, rude, he isn't that old. Steve isn't sure where she gets her unfiltered, blunt commentary (it absolutely isn't him). Second, it absolutely isn't his birthday. Not even close.
"Why uh...why is it my birthday?" Steve asks, unsure if Amelia fully understands the concept. Not sure if he can explain the idea of a birthday to a two (and a half) year old. "Grey." Amelia declares giving Steve whiplash. Before Steve can speak, Amelia points at the comforter," Blue." Steve smiles," Yes, blue."
Amelia points to her shirt," Green." Steve nods. Amelia taps under Steve's eye, lashes brushing against her finger causing him to close it. Steve hopes she doesn't attempt to actually poke his eye.
"Brown." Amelia declares. "Thats right." Steve grins, his girl is so smart. Amelia points to his temple," Grey." "That's ri- what?! No!" Steve's mouth drops open as Amelia giggles. "Uncle Dustbin says grey is old. Birthday makes old. Happy Birthday!"
The creak of the loose floorboard in the hall notifies Steve of your approach. You peek into the doorway of the room, seeing your two favorite people. One looking aghast and the other giggling at her father's reaction.
"What's going on in here?" You ask, leaning against the doorway. "Grey. Birthday." Amelia announces, like it explains everything. And it does in her little mind.
You hum in response, looking at your husband who seems lost for words. Amelia slides off of Steve and off the bed, Steve guiding her so her feet land on the ground absent-mindedly. He would never let her fall or get hurt. Or you.
Amelia half walks half dances in your direction. A prance in her step, she stops in front of you and grabs your hands. "It's daddy's birthday," She says before headbutting your leg. You chuckle and pat her head as she dances out of the room, in her own little world.
"You lying to my kid again?" You ask once Amelia is gone. Steve sputters as he sits up," I did not- our kid- did not lie." "Uh-huh, sure," you say sarcastically. Steve rolls his eyes at you as he gets up out of bed.
Steve stretches as he rocks on his feet, back cracking, before strolling over to you. "Good morning," Steve mumbles, hand landing on your hip. You hum back as he leans in and kisses you. Soft. Slow. Sweet. Leaving you longing for more as he pulls back.
"Love you," Steve says, fingers running along the waistband of your pants. "I love you too," you want to melt into him. Curl up in his arms and stay in this moment. Let the love and adoration fill the air around you.
"Do I look old?" Steve is the first to break the silence. Your brow furrows in confusion," huh?" "Amelia she," Steve huffs out a laugh," said I have grey hair." You chuckle as you bring a hand up, fingers threading through his hair," You have some but its nice." "Its nice huh?" "Makes you look distinguished. Handsome." You bite your lip and look up at him.
Steve knows that look. Knows it well. It's the look you gave him the first time you moved past just making out. The same look you gave him on your first anniversary. The same look you wore on your wedding night. The same look you gave before Amelia was conceived.
Steve can't help the smirk that spreads across his face. If getting old gives him that look, well, he won't complain.
"What about me?" You ask, batting your lashes. "Beautiful," Steve kisses your cheek," Gorgeous," he kisses the corner of your lips. He continues to alternate between kissing all over your face and praising you.
"My love," Steve whispers before kissing you softly on the lips. You sigh into the kiss, one hand tangling in his hair, the other trying to pull him closer.
A loud crash from the living room has you two pulling back from the sweet moment you stole. "What was that?" You call down the hall. "Nothing!" Amelia yells back, making you sigh but smile. Steve can't help but grin too. His life was a little hectic dealing with a rambunctious child, but he wouldn't trade it for the world. And he thinks, if life is like this, he can manage getting old with you. He wouldn't want it any other way.
#Steve whines to Robin later who just sits there laughing until she cries#Until he points out she's aged too because she has laugh lines from smiling and then she spirals just a bit#He has to hold her hand and tell her its a good thing and she goes on a rant about anti-aging and its harder for women then men#How there's all this extra pressure and Steve is aghast like he isnt dumb he knew there was but he never heard it all verbalized#He comes home and kisses you and gets on his knees and tells you he loves you#He then begs you to let him show you how much he loves you wanting nothing more then to use his tongue on you#I mean why would you not let him#And when you lay in bed cuddling after he thinks again he doesn't mind aging if he's doing it with you#You wake up abruptly in the middle of the night and startle him awake#“Oh my God Amelia is going to go to high school and get a boyfriend” you whine#Steve just mutters an oh God and immediately starts thinking if it would be TOO much to have the nail bat when he speaks to said boyfriend#You both think about it for a long time meanwhile Amelia is asleep in her room with drool running out of her mouth hugging a stuffed animal#Anyways Steve nation we up??? This has been drafted for awhile but not posted but I am inspired#And I saw this and went oh yeah post that#So here it is...for u...on this fine Friday early morning#Jade is talking#steve harrington x reader#Steve harrington x you#Steve Harrington x y/n#Steve Harrington/you#Steve Harrington/reader#steve harrington x female!reader

I wish GA would stop watching the show with their eyes closed so they could actually see the obvious fucking parallels that show Mike's queerness and his relationship with Will.
First of all, there are insane amount of details put into this show to meticulously design every aspect of each character so nothing is a coincidence nor a reach.
Second of all, there are hours of proof why Mike Wheeler is queer, starting all the way back from season 1, but if i tried to explain everything it would be a whole series of novels so i'll just settle for this very obnoxiously loud piece of evidence.
Now the reason they created Vickie as a love interest might be because one, Robin deserves it duh, and two, so they can show how a canonically queer character's romantic arc plays out and compare it to another character in the series.
Here's the prize winning question for GA, who might that person be?
If you answered Will, you're pretty close! He's actually paralleling to Robin though, so not the answer we're looking for. But Robin's love interest Vickie parallels to Will's love interest, which would be Mike.
And this is where things get a little complicated for GA.
Because if you asked any viewer with a sane mind if there was a chance Vickie was queer and was interested in Robin because her relationship with her boyfriend wasn't working out very well (they weren't exactly in love), they would answer yes; because they have eyes.
But for some reason when it comes to Mike, suddenly he's the straightest guy to walk on earth and he loves his girlfriend very much even though he can't say or write it and there is no chance of him being queer and all of us are delusional blah blah blah.
Like are you not seeing this or are you ignoring it on purpose?

Obviously, there are nuances to the shots taken because the situations aren't exactly the same but that's why they are called parallels dear GA.
In both shots, the character featured in between and in the background of the couples is not an obstacle in their relationship. On the contrary, it shows that they have an important relation to the other character, that there is something more than just a one-sided tragic love story.
And we can confirm that it's not one-sided because after the first shot with Robin and Vickie, Robin's feelings gets reciprocated at the end of the last episode.
In the second scene Vickie starts complaining about her relationship, her ex-boyfriend, and then feels guilty for being irritated at something so insignificant but Robin reassures her about her insecurities.
Let's reel back a bit and think about what happened at the van scene... Mike complained about his relationship but felt guilty about it because it felt stupid to fuss over it and Will reassured him about his insecurities. That seems so familiar i just can't put my finger on it hmmm...
Both Vickie and Mike feel insecure in their past/current relationships, but they find comfort in their other love interests because they bring out their best sides.
In a way, Robin and Vickie's relationship is like a simplified version that of Will and Mike's. It indicates how Mike will break up with El in season 5 and slowly accept his feelings for Will.
I just hope GA can pull their heads out of their asses to take a look when it happens.

i hate gun batman
I hate Gun Batman! He's stupid!
Not for the reasons you think.
I'm fine with Tim becoming evil in an alt universe. That's interesting. I would love to see how this impacts him as a character.
I am not, however, fine with how it happened.
First of all: Batman???
Tim would go evil, sure, but he would not disrespect one of the symbols he's looked up to. He values the symbolism and meaning of Batman&Robin more than the majority of the Batfam. To Tim, the symbols matter. And he would not corrupt one of those symbols without losing his respect for that symbol.
See, even if Bruce fucked up majorly (which he has many times: see Tim's sixteenth birthday) Tim would still respect Batman as a symbol. Tim compartmentalizes practically everything about his life. To him Robin and Tim are not the same person and they don't mean the same thing. Why would Batman be any different?
The symbols are about public perception and what they mean to the people of Gotham, not just what they mean to the other vigilantes. So even if Bruce fucks up with Tim personally, Tim will still value Batman as a symbol of justice and mercy and second chances. He would not use a symbol like Batman to impose a society where free will doesn't exist. He would have to lose respect for Batman as a symbol to do that, and the provided explanation (all of the Bats dying, basically) wouldn't do it.
If anything, he'd see it as disrespectful to the dead to take the symbol that Bruce upheld and turn it into a dictator.
This goes for Robin, too, by the way. Tim wouldn't be an evil Robin any more than he would be an evil Batman, because he places immense value in the symbols of Batman&Robin. He respects what they mean, what they accomplish, and what they inspire just as much as (if not more than) he respects the actual people inside the suits.
So don't make Tim Batman. Easy fix.
Or, if they had to make Tim Batman, find a better reasoning! Make him lose his respect for the symbols! That would be interesting from a character analysis standpoint and also devastating for Tim to see himself betraying something he places so much value in.
Give him a reason to lose respect in the symbols! If he has to be Batman, make it make sense.
Secondly, the weapon.
Using the gun that killed Bruce's parents? I'm sorry Tim would never.
Or like, he would, but only if he felt betrayed by Bruce. Which he didn't. He lost Bruce. He wouldn't use a weapon with such a personal meaning to Bruce as a force for evil, because he respects the man.
(whether or not he should respect Bruce is a different conversation, the point is that he does)
I believe the reasoning in-universe for why he uses the gun is that he's "reclaiming" it as a force for good? Stupid reasoning. Tim knows how Bruce felt about guns.
He wouldn't disrespect the symbol of Batman by wielding a gun as Batman, and he wouldn't disrespect his mentor figure by taking the source of a personal tragedy and using it to cause more tragedy. Not to mention that Bruce absolutely hated guns.
Tim! Respects! The! Symbols! And! The! People! Behind! The! Symbols!
Thirdly, the motivation.
It's a stupid ass motivation.
Well. I mean. That's not quite it. Tim Being Alone is absolutely what would kickstart his evil arc. Every single time Tim is alone is the bad timeline.
But that wouldn't make him want to eliminate free will. If anything he would put more effort into protecting people- he lost his family, so now he has to make sure he doesn't fail to protect anyone else.
So, in order to get a Tim that would resort to eliminating free will, you have to add a secondary motivation.
For example: Tim loses all of the Bats. They're dead. He still wants to protect people and give them second chances, but... they keep making the obviously wrong choices. They choose to make things worse instead of better. Tim starts to fixate on only the people who keep wasting their second chances. He can't seem to see the people who use those chances for good, because to him it looks like there are so much less of them. And he can see how to make it better. So he does. He assumes control.
That is a good way to make Tim resort to eliminating free will. It takes one of his already established flaws (thinking that he's correct about the majority of things) and expands upon it. It gives him a reason to want to say goodbye to free will other than 'wah my family is dead.'
Because, like I said, Tim compartmentalizes. If he had the support of the Titans (who aren't dead in the Gun Batman timeline)- actual unwavering support and not just saying 'go to therapy, Tim' and taking away the only source of stability in his life- then he could recover. He would still hurt and he wouldn't be the same but he could recover.
And Tim also doesn't place much value in himself. His personal loss wouldn't matter in the face of everyone else who he perceives as mattering more. So sure, he'd be upset and grieving and all that, but he would also place more value in the well-being of Gotham than his grief.
However, if he begins to see the people of Gotham as not worthy of saving (which would take a lot) then he would want to fix it. He would fixate on their flaws and try to make them better.
That is how Tim would become a free-will-removing dictator. It would be because of loss, yes, but it wouldn't be only because of loss.
Fourth: Gun Batman just isn't that creative.
They just gave him his mentor's title and called it a day. Come on. If you're going to make Tim a villain be creative about it! Base his villainy around something Tim already has an interest in!
It feels lazy. Evil future Tim is Batman, because Batman was his mentor and that's good for drama! Please. Tim respects the symbols too much to do that. It doesn't fit his character. And if you want it to fit his character either give him a reason to stop respecting the symbols or make him not disrespect the symbols.
Take something Tim enjoys or is good at and make that his evil self.
A more crack-ish evil Tim that focuses on cars and driving! He might even skateboard- he made a skateboard that could go 80mph one time, I believe.
An omnipresent-feeling evil Tim that does most of his work through computers! (If you wanted to make this about his loss, what about 'honoring' Barbara by becoming an Oracle-adjacent figure? Babs taught him to hack, I believe. If he becomes a hacker then he could also 'honor' her that way.)
(This of course assumes that Tim believes he is doing the right thing and thinks that what he's doing would honor Babs. This is different from Gun Batman because it isn't taking something that Batman hates and using it as a weapon. It isn't corrupting a symbol of mercy and second chances. Oracle isn't a 'symbol,' it's just a respected vigilante and a person that Tim would like to honor. Am I making sense? It's the same way Tim thinks Nightwing is a respected vigilante but not a symbol in the way that Batman&Robin are.)
A pyromaniac evil Tim that blows shit up!
A petty evil Tim that becomes the Red Hood and uses guns that way. It would be so interesting to see what would lead Tim to that! Is it spite? Is it begrudging respect? Is it to be funny and continue the joke that Tim 'steals' Jason's names?
An evil Tim that stayed with the League post-Brucequest!
An evil Tim who's so loyal to his friends that he took down the JL for them! (Superman was dismissive of Kon, or Barry/Wally/Whoever didn't support Bart, or Cassie felt pressured to be perfect, etc etc)
See? It wasn't that hard to come up with these. Do they all make sense? No. Would all of them make a compelling story? No. But they're all more creative or make more sense than Tim becoming Gun Batman.
And that took me about ten minutes. It took me ten minutes to think of traits that Tim has or things he enjoys that could translate into an interesting villain. Obviously, these ideas aren't perfect. But I spent ten minutes on them.
It's just... it feels lazy to just take the name of Tim's mentor and give him that. Make evil Tim themed around things that Tim is good at or things that he enjoys. It isn't /that/ hard.
Finally: Gun Batman feels contrived.
This might just be me. But I feel like Gun Batman was created just to make it so that Tim had a reason to not become Batman.
It feels lazy and contrived. They needed Tim to not become Batman so they made Tim-as-Batman evil.
Again, this might just be me, and the reason for Gun Batman might be something else, but still.
Conclusion Time!
I hate Gun Batman. I hate Gun Batman with all of my heart. I think evil alt-universe Tim could be so much more interesting and creative than "give him a gun and make him Batman." I think Gun Batman is a waste of potential. I think Gun Batman doesn't make sense for Tim as a character.
Thank you for your time. DC, hire me to make evil Tim. I could do it.

Some Byler hope, though I doubt anyone needs it
A lot of Byler doubters suggest that if Will's love for Mike is unrequited, a new love interest will be introduced in the final season and that love interest will become Will's boyfriend.
The interesting thing about this idea though: When have the Duffer's ever had a relationship in this show that doesn't date back years? Joyce and Hopper dated in High School. Jonathan and Nancy have always known each other. Sure, you could say, well, Mileven and Lumax become couples at the end of their respective seasons (which is pretty quickly compared to Byler or Jopper's slowburn). But like, the difference is those two couples have been dating for the majority of the show (like 3 or 4 seasons...). Why would they introduce someone for Will last minute? And yes, you could argue about Robin and Vickie, but still, Vickie is being introduced in the second to last season, Robin was barely introduced a season prior, so it makes sense. Also, it doesn't seem in character for Will to rush into another relationship with someone he hasn't known that long. As far as we know Will has never had a crush on anyone else but Mike, his heart is set on Mike! It would be awful to take that away from him in the final season when he's already gone through so much!

Beyblade X Ep 34: A Rainbow Guest
GES SJACSLSVWJEVEJEVENEBB BC LABJEBWEVD KB VEJEDV WHAT IN THE OMINOUS SPINNING DRAKE IS THIS EPISODE
Okay, first off, I WAS SO DISTRAUGHT AFTER GETTING HIT WITH A FOUND FAMILY EPISODE THEN WE GET HIT WITH JAXON’S TEAMMATE, SIGRID NANAIRO AND HER REALLY BLUNT ATTITUDE TO EVERYTHING EXCEPT SUSHI. Okay I’m gonna be honest, I did get spoiled that she was Multi’s sister BUT LEGITIMATELY I’M STILL SURPRISED
She and Jaxon are similar but not at the same time??? I mean they both love Komaba Sushi (I figured ever since Memories of Sushi ep because the bigger set was given to her while Chrome was too busy focusing on Jaxon and getting fed blah blah blah and yeah) AND THEY’RE PRETTY BLUNT but Jaxon seems to prefer choose his words while she prefers to choose her actions
The way Robin went to grab the mask and practically suffocated Jaxon had me giggling, LIKE DO THEY JUST HAVE IT ON STANDBY???

Like he was so happy to see her and now he’s getting choked by his hair in the mask
Anyways when Robin was surprised she knew him I figured he’d put two and two together, since in the first ep he knew Jaxon was part of Team Pendragon and so was she? Mini plot hole I suppose
BUT YEAH I noticed throughout the episode Robin kept defending Multi from Sigrid even though he keeps getting cut off which, GAHHHHHH AND EARLIER DURING THE VOTES SHE TRIED TO COMFORT HIM they’re adorable honestly
anyways the reactions when Robin and Jaxon find out they’re sisters 😭

THIS IS THE MOST HORRIFIED EXPRESSION IVE SEEN JAXON EXPRESS IM CRYING WHY DOES HE LOOK SO MORTIFIED
and later on we get a look at baby Multi and Sigrid, WHICH OMG I WANNA DRAW MULTI WITH SHORT HAIR NOW
and…. Babadudum…. You guessed it… why I’m immediately posting my reaction to this….

We get a lovely momentary session where Chrome is slowly continuing to lose it over Jaxon in the corner of a room while Sigrid sits there like the bestie who has to hear about her friend’s relationship problems
CHROME YES I WANTED TO SEE YOU BUT NOT LIKE THIS, HAVE A DAMN SLICE OF LIFE MOMENT OR SOMETHING HELP
and thennnn some shady shit just casually breaks into Komaba Sushi and steals the bey plans Multi had. Hello, how does no one spot this THEY HAVE TWO HUGE ASS BUILDINGS SURROUNDING THEM???
#beyblade x#notkamenx thoughts#IM SORRY I SWORE A BIT IN THIS POST I JUST IM ABSOLUTELY JUST. NOT OKAY AFTER THIS???#all screenshots from Beyblade X you can see this on YouTube with weekly releases or on Disney XD I think#ANYWAYS LIKE. I. I think I said all that needed to be said#oh but the first half of the ep there was a women that look like she could be related to Titus/King#so uh yeah that’s interesting#I do not trust Packun and if he tries anything I’m ready to throw hands but the happy looking guy looks not suspicious#hopefully he doesn’t have a crappy attitude I have all eyes on this team rn#BUT YEAH SIGRID APPEARANCE IS she is so scary sometimes from our baby bird’s POV#but overall she’s just overly blunt and not too bad#the fact she said she’s not passing any message on from Jaxon to Chrome because he won’t listen 😭#I CANT GET OVER THESE THREE PANELS#CHROME PLEASE PULL IT TOGETHER JAXON’S NOT COMING BACK#YOU KNEW FROM THE START PROBABLY HE DOES SPONTANEOUS DECISIONS LIKE THIS#speaking of spontaneous decisions Jaxon said he did leave suddenly and Sigrid wasn’t mad or surprised#HOW CAN SHE FIGURE OUT JAXON AND ACCEPT HIS DECISIONS MORE QUICKLY THAN CHROME#to know that I need to know why Chrome’s so attached and obsessed with Jaxon#THIS CANNOT JUST BE OVER BEYBLADES MY MAN HAS TO HAVE AN EMOTIONAL CONNECTION OR SOMETHING#he literally landed an xtreme finish on his own copy’s bey#also this episode had me thinking of the skill gap between Pendragon and Persona#wait that’s so cool both teams names start with a P#is that intentional idk BUT ANYWAYS APART FROM JAXON this episode put into perspective how scarily strong Sigrid is and#further emphasis on Chrome’s strength#I’m not loving this PLEASE I HAD TO PAUSE THE EPISODE SO MANY TIMES DURING ROBIN’S BATFLE#anyways I was glad to see Chrome but like#man Chrome you have issues someone needs to give him a therapy appointment#this whole episode just left me distraught I ranted so much more in the post and the tags#now I wanna go sleep and hope that maybe I can cook something with this new info while I dream#I actually do have multiple fic ideas in my notes and some of them are written but eh they’re not good

RIGHT SENTIMENT WRONG EXECUTION )#and im thinking that to tie it all up maybe her going to ashley ( not!sydney ) and ashley being like ‘hey wanna go to church’#and her attempts of finding profoundness in her soul going wrong#but thats just a theory#( a rough draft. it’s not canon yet )#WE ARE WORKING ON IT. when i get more things written in the doc i feel like i’ll have a clearer vision#which i just wanna go on a rant so badly about the differences between the LIs compared to their original iterations soooo bad#but i have to wait… i have to be patient

i actually really like the concept of “werewolf-ism” being something like a disability. feeling like your skin is itching and your bones are aching as the full moon grows closer. having heightened senses depending on where the moon cycle is at. and once you do turn, your sense of humanity takes a full backseat. you’re bloodthirsty and you can’t control it. you have to lock yourself away in advance in order not to hurt someone you love. but without anything to seek out and hunt, you end up clawing at and biting yourself. you wake up from your craze covered in blood and scratches. you used to have to tend to yourself and deal with the guilt and frustration, but one day you find someone who loves you for who you are. you find people who don’t judge you for something you can’t help. you once thought you were impossible to love, but there are people who’ve now proven that wrong over and over.
#thoughts that i might turn into something#as cool as the concept of being werewolf in the shapeshifting sense is#i like this concept a bit more#robin rants

hi hope u don't mind this quick little rundown of what we know about willis and catherine from post-crisis! since the anon in the ask you just answered got a couple minor details wrong.
willis: jason is pretty dismissive about him, possibly resentful, and assumes he is in prison. willis's listed crimes are non-violent, running numbers and boosting cars. at this point he was already killed by two-face for "double crossing" him. jason finds out willis died on his first case, stews in this anger and then takes it out by attacking two-face and yelling 'i'll kill you.' he talks this out with bruce and the issue is "resolved" within the next issue.
catherine: jason claims she died because she was sick, but by the next issue bruce confirms that she died of an overdose. jason has a photo of her. the overdose is retconned in batman 426, where bruce instead says that she died due to some unspecified disease.
bruce in his monologue in 426 also notes that catherine is a "good woman" and believes that both willis and catherine "possibly loved" jason. obviously this is bruce's perspective so he could be wrong.
most of this is from from batman 408-409, the arc where jason finds out willis dies is 410-411, and we have bruce's monologue in 426. (alfred and bruce also suspect jason never got over his grief for his parents in this issue, and think that's why he's been acting out lately.)
Oooh thank you for the corrections! I always find it funny how easily Jason is talked out of killing Two Face for killing his dad. Not exactly in line with DC's "evil angry child with terrible vibes" characterization they're pushing on Jaybin nowadays lmao. Like he calmed down as fast as Dick or Tim did whenever they got angry like that, but we can't acknowledge that or we'll have to deal with the fact that Anyone can in fact die as Robin, because it's gone from whimsical fantasy to child endangerment ever since Jason died. But to acknowledge that they'd have to find fault in Bruce, and that simply can't happen. It's the kid's fault he died don'tcha know.
#dc#asks#dc rambles#jason todd#batfam#this turned into a bit of a salty rant and I'm not exactly breaking new ground here#but forgive me the summary for the new robin jason story came out and I'm just. So tired#DC hold Bruce accountable for the bad choices he makes that give him the angst you're so fond of challenge

#I’ll never forgive my mom for not letting me watch Teen Titans as a kid#But also#It was a tiny bit justified considering 8 year old me would have watched Robin almost violently die of hallucinations and stress lmao#Lantern’s Rants#Teen Titans#This may be one of the best episodes of a kid’s show I have ever watched

sigh.. putting this here (i hope you dont mind duhroenwuis)
i have such a good theory omg (i really want your opinion on this)
what if like in st5, vickie asks robin out but robin (having very poor sense of social cues) doesn't register it as a date and she thinks its a friend thing (assuming she no longer has feelings for vickie and fawns over nance whenever she can [she hasnt properly processed her ronance thoughts yet]) and then vickie tries to confess to robin and robin very like awkwardly turns her down and then that leads her into processing her thoughts and feelings about/for nancy and then robin and nancy kiss and boom the season ends and robin and nancy live happily ever after🙏😸
(imsosorryharper)
I WOULD HOPE SOMETHING LIKE THAT HAPPENS
i would love something like that to happen even though I doubt it would just because the duffers main focus for the season probably won't be on robin or the other characters that aren't the main party :(( (*cough* if they wouldn't have added so many characters throughout the seasons to begin with they might have been able to focus on all the characters' stories for the last season *cough cough*) but I will still sit here and hope and pray that ronance does somehow become canon bc I am delusional MFHSJXJ
but that is a good theory though, percy. i wish that the duffers would have actually put some sort of thought into a relationship for robin instead of just lazily throwing a new character into the show that quite literally is just a copy of robin 😭 it would have been SOOO much more meaningful if they would have just taken a step back from their stupid stancy bs and went "omg... wait... nancy and robin are like kinda perfect for each other" AND THEN YAYYYY RONANCE HAPPY ENDING
#just realized I ranted a bit there LMAO#i feel very strongly about how the duffers decided to handle a relationship for robin this season 🤕#BUT YES percy I love your theory so much#I hope it becomes reality 🙏#ronance#harper talks 🌅#asks

Important: I found out the post where I originally saw this art was from a different account, and they had cropped out the signature. It definitely looked deliberate to me. However I blocked them cause I don't like seeing art where people do that, and I don't know how to find out what their username is. But I thought you should know this, and I wasn't able to contact you via an ask or message.
But what I originally came here to say is: I love this art, and it makes me think of a fic idea where Jason goes around as red hood on Christmas dressed like this and gives presents to poor or homeless kids by breaking into their house at night Santa style. And a kid wakes up and sees him or something and a rumour starts and somehow the batfam find out and they tease him relentlessly about it. Like, "oh my gosh, the great big scary crime lord red hood gives kids presents? How cute, how nice" and Jason hates the teasing and denies doing it at all till Tim stalks him and gets pictures as evidence

Redhood fan art
Merry Christmas!

Been reading Batman and Bat-adjacent comics for less than a year now, and I've learned quite a bit. Like, there's a lot I still don't know, but sometimes it feels like I know more than the average Batfam fan. Regardless, the thing I've learned that both delights and frustrates me endlessly is that the Bats' history is long and complicated.
Bruce "Batman" Wayne is 86 years old now, and he and his family have evolved a fuckton over the decades. There's so many layers to how and why some of these characters are the way they are these days.
There's the original purpose of the character's creation. How the tone of the comics changed every 2 decades to match real-world shifts in attitudes, and how the characters changed with it. The fact that there are multiple universes with similar but different takes on the same characters. How writers had to add or remove things because critics or their editors forced them to. How drops in comics sales and attempts to revitalize it led to writers having to swerve in drastically different directions with characters. The fact that different comic series would portray the same characters differently from other series in the same timeline, either to play around with POV, show how a change in environment affects the character, or just to use the character as a lazy plot device to create conflict. The fact that some writers openly didn't respect the characters' principles or the genre's conventions and it showed in their writing. The fact that some writers were bigoted and channeled that into the way they wrote their characters. How certain huge events led to permanent changes in characters and their relationships. How many of these changes were eventually divorced from their original -- often traumatic and gradually built-up -- contexts and just became core characteristics from the get-go, just cuz. The fact that some retcons have retroactively tainted or overwritten years, sometimes decades, of established history. The fact that different writers may have wildly different interpretations of the same character depending on what older comics they draw inspiration from.
It's just... There's so many layers. And it's not always rational to divorce the Doylist (real-world) explanations from the Watsonian (in-universe) explanations. Sometimes, the best answer for why the character did something shitty really is just "the author sucks". Sometimes the best answer for why two things contradict is "DC retconned it 30 years ago, so you're supposed to pretend the thing from 37 years ago didn't happen".
It's a lot and sometimes it can be overwhelming. But context is important to me, especially since it's infuriatingly common for people to incorrectly criticise characters based on panels without any knowledge of the full story. And being able to follow the threads to see how we got from Point A to Point B, and how we can play around with that in the realm of fanfiction, is honestly kinda fun to me.
#prince aj's jibber-jabber#prince aj rambles about comics#fun fact: this ramble session was inspired by the fact that Golden Age Dick had a happy-go-lucky violence to him#like: “Yippee! Electric Chair for the criminal” type behaviour. which wasn't a big deal back in 40s comics#but I maintain a dislike for Angry or Excessively Violent Robin Dick#because Dick's in-universe and real world evolution made his Golden Age characterisation pretty much irrelevant by the late 60s#(at least as far as I've read)#And in the context of Modern Age comics it's a blatant mischaracterisation that flattens the character and his legacy#That said it reads a bit ironic when Jason gets retconned and criticised 40 years later for behaviour old-school Dick would display#with the major difference being that the tone of comics were a lot more light-hearted back then and didn't take the violence as seriously#but now Dick is no longer associated with that behaviour (understandably so) so it becomes purely a Jason problem#while dick is regarded as the golden standard even when he does show some anger or violent tendencies (again understandably so)#tag rant
