Hyo-man is competitive. Very. During a quiet evening, his partner accidentally beat his record on Rainbow Road. Looking at him out of the corner of his eye, he said:

— "A. Game. YOU dared to say that Rainbow Road... is just a game?"

He "blew up" his console with a punch (well, not really, but he threw it in the bathtub). Then he left the apartment muttering:

Baek-jin plays chess like he breathes. Every move is a metaphor for his life. So when, one romantic evening, he suggested a game to his partner, the latter replied:

— "I prefer Chinese checkers. Chess is too slow."

Baek-jin froze. He carefully put away the pieces, one by one, and said:

— "You put the king in the fridge, and my heart in the freezer."

He left, leaving the board with a coded message in chess notation:

°Oh Beom-seok

He broke up with his partner because he didn't "like" his Instagram post within the first 3 minutes. (ʕ⁠ಠ⁠_⁠ಠ⁠ʔ This complexed man...)

Beom-seok, fragile but demanding, posted a carefully filtered photo. He waited. 1 minute. 2 minutes. Still nothing. 3 minutes, still no red heart from his guy.

Panic. Anxiety. Rage.

— "If you can't like me at my best, you don't deserve me at my worst."

He sent a 7-minute dramatic voice message , with sad BTS music in the background. And blocked his partner everywhere. Even LinkedIn. (??? ತ⁠_⁠ತ)

°Kim Gil-su (from the Union) 0_o :

He broke up with his partner because he called "Dragon Ball" a "cartoon."

Gil-su lives for anime. His heart beats with every Kamehameha. He invited his partner to watch Dragon Ball Z. But when his partner said:

— "This cartoon is a bit long, isn't it?"

Gil-su slowly stood up, went to get his Ultra Instinct Goku figure, looked at it one last time... then gently put it away.

— "It's not a cartoon. It's an intergalactic epic."

Dae-won is a ramyeon purist. Timer, temperature, texture: everything matters. But his partner used instant noodles with ketchup. KETCHUP.

He threw the chopsticks on the floor, stood up, and declared:

— "Love is like noodles: when it's too liquid, it slips and falls."

He broke up with his partner because he said "it's just a scarf" when he saw his scar.

Su-ho is silent, brooding, with a heavy past tattooed in every gaze. He wears a black scarf. Always. Even in summer. No one ever takes it off. Except...

One day, his partner, thinking it was a "cute joke," suddenly pulled off his scarf to kiss his neck. What he discovered? An old, thin, straight scar, testifying to a past confrontation.

— "Oh... it's nothing big. It looks like a cat scratch!"

Silence. The world stopped.

Su-ho stood up, slowly put on his jacket, replaced his scarf, then whispered in a grave voice:

The voice actors of Ciel Phantomhive and Finnian, Maaya Sakamoto and Yuki Kaji respectively, had a joint interview. They talked about the wonders of the present anime compared to a decade ago, bloopers, their camaraderie, their costars, the Black Butler’s popularity, and Germany.

The broadcast last April, "The Boarding School Arc" marked an anime adaptation after about 15 years since the first season of the anime series and about 7 years since the theatrical version. How was the response?

Sakamoto: We received various reactions. Particularly, many female voice actors told me, "I loved it back then and I'm so happy to watch it again" and "I watch it every week!" I was surprised to find out that so many girls who were fans of "Black Butler" during middle and high school have now become voice actors (laughs). Once again, I realized that it is a work that has influenced many people.

Kaji: Speaking of that, I am also one of the voice actors who grew up with "Black Butler."

Sakamoto: You were in it, right? (Laughs)

Kaji: (Laughs) I was in it, but "Black Butler" was already a topic of discussion as a manga (the original work) even before it was adapted into an anime. There were many fans of the work around me, and I myself loved it and read the manga even before auditioning. That’s why I was really happy to pass the audition for the role of Finnian and become part of the work. Additionally, being able to work with such distinguished senior actors, including (Maaya) Sakamoto, was truly an honor.

In the anime, the visual beauty reminiscent of the original work also became a hot topic.

Sakamoto: Compared to 10 years ago, I was impressed to see that the technology has simply improved, expanding the range of visuals that can be expressed. When I actually saw the completed animation, I was amazed by the quality that devoted so much attention to detail, to the extent that I thought, "Is there really an anime that spends this much time on a scene of pouring tea?" It's truly incredible, and I'm constantly surprised by it.

Tell us your honest feelings when 'The Green Witch Arc' was decided following 'The Boarding School Arc.'

Sakamoto: I had already heard that there would be a sequel during 'The Boarding School Arc,' and I was really looking forward to it. When it was publicly announced, and I saw the joyful reactions from the fans, I felt, "Everyone was waiting for it." I'm very happy and feel blessed to be able to deliver something that is so desired.

Kaji: I felt like, finally, the time has come. 'The Green Witch Arc' includes the episode where Finnian's (Finnian's nickname) origins are revealed, so it was a story I absolutely wanted to perform someday. I was excited that this dream was finally coming true, but at the same time, I felt quite nervous. I thought simply, "Can I get that voice out?" (laughs).

Did you have anything in particular in mind when playing Finnian in this work?

Kaji: Usually, Finnian is often seen as a mascot-like character who brightens the mood, but this episode depicts a clear flow of emotions. So I thought a lot about how to portray a Finnian who is "not just cheerful." Because of this, I was really happy that the environment where we could record together with all the cast members was back. I approached the recording with a renewed appreciation for the gratitude of sharing the space and exchanging performances.

Do you have any memorable episodes during dubbing?

Kaji: (Kobayashi) Chikahiro had some Wolfram-like traits in his personality. He unintentionally became a mood-maker, so to speak (laughs).

Sakamoto: That's right. He would make some unexpected bloopers (laughs).

Kaji: Maaya-san got caught up in it (laughs).

Sakamoto: Once I start laughing, I can't stop...

Kaji: The funny part was that Chikahiro-san himself didn't realize it. He had a "Why are they laughing?" look on his face (laughs).

Sakamoto: Really. Despite those moments, we enjoyed the recording.

In this work, tell us about the charms of Ciel and Finnian, and the highlights.

Sakamoto: This time, there are scenes where Ciel, while suffering from confusion and trauma, shows a different side in front of Sebastian and the servants. There's the charm of Ciel who we have never seen before, but I truly felt grateful that Finnian was there next to Ciel, showing a side that he could only reveal in front of Finnian. It's an episode that depicts the relationship with Finnian, including the past, in greater depth, warming the heart, and it has become one of my favorite scenes.

Kaji: Finally, the reason Finnian is with young master Ciel is revealed, right? Not only that, but there are also scenes where he stands up to Sebastian saying, "I have to protect the young master!" It feels like there's a portrayal of the bond with Ciel and simultaneously with Sebastian. Up until now, there weren't actually that many scenes where Finnian directly converses with Ciel, but this time there’s a sense of a “team,” or a solid trust relationship with the servants, making me love Finnian, Ciel, and everyone even more.

The characters of these two famous VAs will have their moments like this next episode.

I believe you two have worked together before, but what are your impressions of each other as voice actors now?

Sakamoto: I vividly remember when I first met Kaji-kun. When he introduced himself, saying, "I'm Yuki Kaji!", I thought, "He's got a high voice, so fresh." At that time, I had the impression he often played cute roles, including Finny. Now that he performs roles with a deeper voice, his range has greatly expanded. He's always been at the forefront playing various roles, and moreover, his activities aren't limited to just voice acting! ... His aura is simply different.

Kaji: No, no, please stop...!

Sakamoto: But I'm happy about it. Though it might be odd that I'm so pleased (laughs). I think of him as a younger brother, so I'm really happy.

Kaji: I'm equally happy that you would say such things... For me, Ono-san and Maaya-san always feel like "big brother" and "big sister." Thus, I always feel very reassured when we're together on other projects, and no matter how old I get, I want to rely on them (laughs).

Sakamoto: (laughs). We hadn't had the opportunity to record together for a while, so I was very glad to have had the chance to work closely on this project.

By the way, "The Green Witch Arc" is set in Germany, but do you have any episodes that come to mind when you hear "Germany" or any memories from a trip there?

Kaji: I've been to Germany once.

Sakamoto: I'm jealous! I've never been to Germany. Wataru Komada, who supervised the German language this time, said, "Germany has over 1,000 types of sausages."

Kaji: There are that many!?

Sakamoto: Yes. They vary by shop, and apparently, they're really delicious. After hearing that, I've been wanting to go to Germany to eat (them).

Kaji: I ate them when I traveled to Germany. At a place like a Munich tavern, with picture-perfect mugs of beer and about 3 or 4 types of sausages!

Sakamoto: Sounds great!

Kaji: I feel like I can drink alcohol more casually now than I could back then, so I'd really like to go again.

Sakamoto: How about having the "Black Butler" wrap-up party in Germany...! (laughs)

talking further abt sonic boom the hit 2014 tv show, the secret sauce to the comedy is really just that everyone is an egocentric loser

characters aren't making jokes for the audience, but for the other characters, because everyone needs to be the funniest person in the room at all times. that's how you get characters just flubbing their bits ("Your Obliteratorbot can't hurt me! I'm unoblibi- unbl- unob- You can't kill me." / "Take that Egg..... ....man. You try coming up with new ones every time.") [I am genuienly convinced that they just kept bloopers in sometimes.], you have characters discussing how to improve their punchlines, you have everyone else reacting to the jokes, threatening to harm each other for bad puns, communaly laughing at the butt of the joke, giving unimpressed stares, hitting each other with hammers, etc.

it's just all a very naturalistic delivery. the voice direction is also top notch, and i could honestly believe any of these people could exist in real life.

every character has the fundamental capacity to be a loser. i've seen this praised as an aspect in atla, funnily enough. NOBODY is ever as cool as they want to be, and that is simply funny as hell.

EDIT: After doing Reddit Q&As for the 10 Year Finale Anniversary, Owain and Tim both said that they improvised a lot of the Cho/Rigsby scenes and some of those improvised scenes made the cut!

ADDED 1x03 - Lisbon's fall down the steps was scripted but the show used the one take when Robin Tunney actually fell

EDIT 1x14 - 'There's no business like Cho business' is said by Simon but Owain claims that he came up with the line

S1 - the conversation between Wayne and Grace about carrots and the bloopers of this scene is hilarious.

ADDED 4x03 - all the Jisbon banter was improvised in this episode by Robin and Simon including the famous 'I'll save you a seat by the fire. Oh I'm not going there' convo

5x02 - when Charlotte (Dove Cameron) rolls her eyes at Jane (Simon) and he says don't roll your eyes at me

5x04 - Jane's handshake with the mob boss

EDIT 5x14 - the poker scene that was gifed by @tmsource and @katebeckets. Robin dealt those cards to Simon on their second take and Jimmy Gadd (our lovely editor) decided to use the scene in the show.

EDIT 5x21 - when Robin hits Simon on the arm as she's driving when he says he hoped she learned from her anger management classes. Her smile immediately afterwards is Robin's reaction to getting away with the hit. Jimmy Gadd kept this scene in as he wanted to show how close the actors and the characters were.

ADDED 5x22 - Robin had a hand injury which is why she is wearing a cast on her wrist so the dialogue between her and Simon about it was improvised.

ADDED 6x22 - according to a tweet by Emily Swallow, Simon actually hurt his ankle when filming the airport scene so Jane limping and sitting with his leg propped up is not scripted!

7x05 - the final scene when Jisbon are talking about their future plans. You can tell as Simon's accent slips into Aussie and he directed the episode so kept it in.

7x13 - the crazy dancing of the cast was scripted but the selfie between Cho, Rigsby and Van Pelt was an improv.

ADDED 7x13 - most of the party filmed after the wedding was the cast's actual wrap party so a lot of the moments between Van Pelt, Rigsby, Abbott, Cho and Wylie are actually the actor's geniune reactions.

ADDED 7x13 - the triple kiss and lip wipe between Jane and Lisbon was an improv according to a tweet by Robin Tunney as she stated she had 'never seen a lip wipe in a script'.

How about a BNHA Actor AU?

Series: BNHA AU Criteria: Boku no Hero Academia Actors AU AU title (optional): Lights Camera Heroics!

So the anime of Boku no Hero Academia is a live action show, and it's time to take a look behind the scenes. The first thing to address is that UA is an actual school, and all of the kids in the main cast are in attendance. (1-A, 1-B, Mei, Shinso, Toga, etc). All of them were selected from a national talent search, and for the most part off set they are a bit more normal.

Why yes, Nezu is the principal of UA, and the director. No one is sure why he chose to be… like that… and most are too afraid to ask.

Most of the quirks are special effects, for example Jiro's ear jacks are prosthetics, while Izuku's green lightning bolts are added in post. No, Izuku being able to do the All Might face was NOT special effects. No, we do not know how he does it. Yes, it is startling to see in person. Yes, our therapist has tried to reassure us that it is not harmful. Yagi Toshinori transformation into All Might is a combination of his own posture and acting talent, and a inflatable prosthetic, that has never gone off unintentionally, regardless of what the bloopers may show. (it does all the time, often at the worst moment.)

Dark Shadow is actually a full body puppet played by Tokoyami's twin sister who didn't want a face role, but wanted to help her brother out. She loves hamming it up, and the audience loves it when they are at cons in costume.

Off-screen Recover Girl has a small army of medical staff, and is a licensed emergency doctor. Inko, Fuyumi, Nezu, and Kurogiri are the only ones with full teaching licenses, while Present Mic and Hound Dog are able to fill in as subs and chaperones. Aizawa is a safety inspector, and really… really needs a nap… The other adults just try to keep the kids from blowing up the set. Most of the adults are professional actors and gives the kids tips between takes.

Im glad that you're relying on me for one of my biggest passions ^^ It makes me so happy that ppl are asking me for my opinions and recommendations and when it's Four Swords heck im more than happy tysm <3

There is this one channel that does the Four Swords Dub so well im literally obsessed over the voice acting (literally in love with Vio's voice no joke intended) and it's like 50/50 colored idk how to explain. Some panels are colored some are not, but lately they've been coloring more and more panels with recent updates which im glad about.

This is the channel and I SWEAR THEY DO IT SO WELL THE VOICES ARE SO MATCHING VIO IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!! (nothing unusual lmao)

It's not complete yet but trust it's always worth the wait. They've been improving over time and it's visible. I think they change voice actors over time im not sure. Again they improve, so more and more panels get colored and video editing gets better and better. They include hilarious bloopers! AND, MOST IMPORTANTLY (probably not but eh), one of the best Four Swords artist is also a VA and they do some art for that Dub, the artist im talking about is the legendary @/kaenith. Trust me Kae is great! Their art is so amazing i love it sm and sometimes they do art for this dub and they also voice act for Shadow and I love it sm! Kae the Legend! (Im sorry but Kae is one of my inspirations to draw and make content for Four Swords, they also got me into Four Swords in general so I just wanna show em some appreciation)

This dub also has a Tumblr account which is @/four-swords-dub on which they sometimes post news and updates so I sometimes check that acc too to know about the VAs and how the project is going.
