some ultrakill fans flaming people for playing on lenient/harmless is so funny to me because here i am in my little corner playing on harmless with Also 100% damage reduction (in major assist settings) because my severe anxiety cannot handle the idea of me taking any damage at all . i am wearing my propeller hat and eating my lollipop and i am having fun :3 (and maybe one day i can ease that anxiety and play without major assists)

I didn't find "Errand of Mercy" super interesting the first time around (I feel like the Federation-Klingon comparison and its consequences are less forced and more nuanced in "Day of the Dove" and I don't like the easy out of the Organian treaty). But there are a few !!!!! moments that stick with me.

Of course, there's Kirk nearly mauling a Klingon (while outnumbered by the other Klingons) for presuming to ... shove Spock, and when Spock says he thought Kirk might actually do it, Kirk admitting he might have if Spock hadn't stopped him. There's the fun date night with explosives and Renfaire outfits. But there's also this absolutely "uhhhh what" interaction between Kor (the Klingon commander), the Organian councilor Ayelborne, Kirk, and Spock:

KOR: I am Kor, military governor of Organia. [Looks at Kirk] Who are you? AYELBORNE: He is Baroner, one of our leading citizens. KOR: And he has no tongue? KIRK: I have a tongue. KOR: Good. You will be taught how to use it. Where is your smile? KIRK: My what? KOR: The stupid, idiotic smile everyone else seems to be wearing. [Noticing Spock] A Vulcan. Do you also have a tongue? SPOCK: I am Spock, a dealer in kevas and trillium. KOR: You do not look like a storekeeper. Take this man. Vulcans are members of the Federation. He may be a spy. KIRK: He's no spy. KOR: Well, have we a ram among the sheep? Do you object to us taking him? KIRK: He's done nothing. Nothing at all. KOR: Coming from an Organian, yours is practically an act of rebellion. Very good. [To the Council] So you welcome me. [To Kirk] Do you also welcome me? KIRK: You're here. There's nothing I can do about it. KOR: Good honest hatred. Very refreshing. However, it makes no difference whether you welcome me or not. I am here and will stay. You are now subjects of the Klingon Empire. You'll find there are many rules and regulations. They will be posted. Violation of the smallest of them will be punished by death. AYELBORNE: We shall obey your regulations, Commander. KOR: You disapprove, Baroner. KIRK: You need my approval? KOR: I need your obedience. Nothing more. Will I have it? KIRK: You seem to be in command. KOR: Yes. I am. I shall need a representative from among you. Liaison between the forces of the occupation and the civil population. Smile and smile. I don't trust men who smile too much. You, Baroner, you're the man. KIRK: Me? I don't want the job. No but really, been thinking of the community here and how much I miss y’all and just actually doing stuff like having fun and writing again 🥺 I miss it so much. I might definitely have to overhaul and clean things up, drop threads, etc. Start kinda fresh?? Just because I keep trying to hold onto old threads after I have lost traction and forcing myself to get back on track is a lot more difficult than just. Starting new threads pfft~

I’ll have to give a look over my stuff and see what still vibes with me. Starters I didn’t reply to yet will more than likely be excluded from this cleanup, and threads in their early stages. Defeated in war and sent to a foreign kingdom against his will, Alabaster has to navigate a foreign court with the unwanted company of Prince Perseus and Princess Annabeth. One problem: Someone tried to kill Percy and Alabaster is the main culprit.

Alabaster hopes the frigid air does flay his skin off. Better him due to the freezing wind than Ethan and Poseidon’s head guard.

They had been holding out their own pretty well in the war, or so Lou had thought. Until Alabaster's letters home started only being addressed to their mother, until they got less and less frequent and their mother started preparing for surrender.

The worst part? It wasn't enough the occupiers stripped the palace of anything valuable. They demanded Lou's brother, too.

Lou Ellen was never supposed to be the queen, much less a puppet one. Alabaster was supposed to rule, not be torn apart from his crown and family.

The first anniversary of the war's end came faster than any of them could imagine; amidst all the ensuing succession crisis, the fanfare associated with court, the constant need to check over his shoulder at every step and learning the ropes of politics from the two people that might have actually been tricking him towards ruin.

Prince Percy has more or less adjusted to being crowned heir. Though he never thought he'd have to reconcile his loving father and Atlantis's hated King being the same person. Especially now, with the people discontent and an assassination plan brewing against the said father.

Princess Annabeth is resigned to being a chess piece on the board of politics, and relished when she's the chessmaster. But what can she do when her mother has eyes on the lands of her husband?

Alabaster, after one whole year of captivity, is back at home. One problem; he's not sure he wants his sister to see him like this. Queen Lou Ellen is not sure she wants to see him either.

“You will serve as an example of what fate awaits Atlantis’ enemies,” King Poseidon explains as Alabaster is dragged out of his cell, only to be shoved down to his knees before him. “While I understand that even former princes have their pride, it is my son’s wedding. This would be easier on both of us if you behaved civilly. Surely losing your crown does not mean you’ve lost your etiquette?”

Alabaster bares his teeth in an approximation of a smile. “Don’t talk to me about etiquette when you and your heir presumptive learned yours on the seas, amongst drinkers and whoremongers.”

Poseidon’s face grows dark with fury.

(Fun fact! I messed up the formatting of the timer in the recent update. It was supposed to say 74 hrs. Instead it says 74 minutes. So I guess we're speed running some events now b/c I can't really go back and change it. (it's fine. I actually like this way better. I'll get to the fun stuff faster, which i'm all for.))

Personally enjoying this [slightly adjusted] full court style 3x3 instead of a half court. This 3x3 is bringing a nice competitive fast paced level to the game, different than 5x5 league play. Elite players playing at an elite level 🤌🏽
