Dream Log: Time Capsule Kid

(it's me i'm the time capsule kid.)

Revelation Date: September 8, 2024

(this one was. a little traumatic, to be fair?)

-I was part of this strange ritual where a bunch of kids are sent into a hidden tomb for... a really long time. can't remember if it was eternity or 200 years.

-every other kid seemed weirdly fine with it, but I fought. despite how much I begged and cried, though, into the tomb I went.

-the tomb was surprisingly well-furnished.

-I remember sobbing myself to eternal sleep that night.

-but, some time later, somehow, I woke up. I clawed myself out of the... grave, I guess? and wound up in my backyard. I explore a bit.

-given that mom and dad are present in the garage when i get to the front of the house, I quickly find out it had not been 200 years. it had only been 2.

-after that great relief, I catch up on how the world's moved without me.

-so, it's 2026. my parents apparently decided to move a few days ago, in preparation for my return. nice house, big deck/porch, closer to school.

-I'm understandably kinda miffed about having missed a year and a half of school. (but, still, that's what I'm most concerned about right now?)

-sadly, that's where it ended. I feel like I'm writing this a lot more formally than other entries, maybe because of how real it felt to me.

Also I will say, (ASUNDER SPOILERS) they said that Pharamond (only know ex tranquil mage) was dangerous and inestable and summoned demons for being an ex-tranquil BUT the demons were actually only summoned before he was healed so thats slander and lies, that guy wasn't even throwing fireballs to the divine when she ordered to make him tranquil again. but also summoning demons when your feelings are too much go vrrrrrrr so im doing it

one of those batfam time travel au fics but it’s cass who gets sent back in time and instead of being cautious and paranoid about the butterfly effect and accidentally erasing herself from existence she actually So Badly wants to Not Exist because that means that that guy she kills won’t die by her hand so it’s just her going “pretty please let’s erase me from existence” to satisfy her guilty conscience while actively giving out as much information as she can. meanwhile Past-Bruce is desperately trying to mitigate the damage because he is actually paranoid about blowing up space time continuum so every time cass opens her mouth he’s clamping his hands over his ears and going lalalala i Can’t Hear You!!!

Nightwing: MAMA!!!!! Red Hood, unwillingly because its just an impulse when dick starts singing, and when hearing this song: just killed a man! Red Robin, always willing to sing on patrol: put a gun against his head! Robin, never one to shy away from singing about murder. And showing off his talent: pulled my trigger now hes dead! Spoiler, lives for this sort of thing: MAMA!!!! Oracle, googled the lyrics: life has just begun The kids: *look expectantly at Bruce* Batman:.... Bruce, deep sigh: but now I've gone and thrown it alllllll away Cass: MAMA!!!! The Kids, so proud of their dad: oooOOOooooh Jason: didn't mean to make you cry! Dick: if im not back again, this time tomorrow! The Riddler: Carry on!!! Carry ON!!!! The Kids, wiping tears from their eyes as they arrest him: As if nothing really matters

Simple observation I made from reading these comics. DC, stop making their dad an asshole and make him hug them more.

Also, the hugs in these comics:

Tim's hug is not in Red Robin but it's during the run and when Bruce comes back in time.

Cass' hug is weird because they're suicidal freaks who think fighting is therapy. They fought while being drugged, and blew up a brigde. It makes sense for them only.

Jason's first hug (Outlaws) is after he tries to apologize for his crimes and Bruce refuses to let him to do it, because his boy is innocent for him 🥺 (and then, they fucked it up with Ethiopia because they cannot let them have nice things 🙄). The second one (Red Hood & Arsenal) is started by Jason, who is just very happy to see that Bruce is alive, even if he has lost his memory.

Dream Log: The Control Conspiracy

AKA the single wildest dream I think I've ever had.

Revelation Date: June 27, 2024

(I woke up from this one legitimately THRILLED. that's how awesome it was.)

-started out as a standard, uninterestingly weird dream of mine then slowly morphed into this one

-one of the few dreams where I was not myself! I took the form of some nameless protagonist boy (called Protag from here on out)

-at this giant outdoor party, don't remember what for but Protag is reasonably happy to be here

-while messing around on some equipment, we meet a girl in a backroom

-don't remember her motive or the first conversation but clearly she has Protag on her side.

-now would be a good time to mention that this all ran off of video game rules. me and Protag are separate; I was the 'player'. I could continue after death. which also led to the timeloop plot.

-I'd let Protag do most of the talking (dialogue, etc.) but could make a conscious effort to speak myself. mostly about what to do next. (only thing I remember saying is "Alright, let's do this one more time.")

-anyway, this girl tells us how the. government? of this town we're in is planning to release a mind control gas at the end of the party. needed someone to help her stop it. we seemed a pretty enthusiastic volunteer.

-and now would be a good time to talk about the timeloop part. despite our best efforts, I would ultimately run out of time and die. this was a single loop. the only difference between loops was that I'd get a little bit farther each time and our teammate would remember what happened. I only got through 3 or 4 loops before waking up.

-our teammate had an actual name but she was only supposed to reveal that in later loops. so let's just call her M for now.

-M seemed to know that her story ran off video game rules. she knew about the timeloop, at least. she knew that the only way to end the loop and reset time was for Protag to die. because every loop ended with the mind control gas being released and M regretfully killing Protag.

-M's idea of 'killing Protag' was... slowly. by injecting something that would slowly rip apart his code. numbness. brain fog. shortness of breath. joints feeling misplaced (hitboxes shifting). it took quite a few minutes, which was agonizing for us both, but it allowed me to watch and gather info for next time.

-on one loop, someone was trying to secretly interrogate Protag, and the last thing he said before conking out was "...No. No, I won't ever tell you. You can never know." I just think that was neat because usually I never remember dialogue from my dreams.

-M was clearly distraught about having to kill Protag every time. she would always try to act apologetic or sympathetic when we met again at the beginning of a new loop. it buys her more time but it must feel pretty messed up to have to murder your friend over and over.

I just think Cassandra Cain should be allowed to tell Cluemaster "Your daughter calls me daddy too" as a treat.

Kate Kane would double over laughing every time she saw Steph fail at doing something cool to impress Cass, who responds by trying to help (which gets Steph more flustered) and Bruce keeps trying to ask Kate what's so funny but she can't answer while giggling further at Stephanie's glares.

Y'know the comic book medium really went off when they said Hmm this teenager is selling hotcakes let's make so many more and then let them grow up sometimes.

You ask me my favorite superheroes? Nearly every one of them started as a teen and grew up. And I'm still angry that they keep doing this "Kamala is still a high schooler she just spends all her time at college" let her grow up a little please

Do y’all ever think about how much of a shock it was for Cassandra Cain when she escaped into the world? Like, idk what she had in the isolated place she was kept in, but it wasn’t normal stuff.

A few months after Barbara finds Cass, she tries her first taki or bat burger. Yk those toddler videos where it’s like [Name]’s first time trying yadayada that’s what it would be like so there’s a collection of recordings in the watchtower labeled Cass and it’s her trying different things she didn’t have with Cain
