Tbh we don't know enough about Dae-ho to be able to say wether he was out of character in season 3 or not. He's obviously at least to some degree been dishonest and has been acting in a way that isn't fully true to himself. I'm not saying that Dae-ho is a lying asshole who can't be trusted. But we haven't seen him in a situation like this before. We don't Know if he would actually react like that when confronted about something that he feels guilty for. Dae-ho has been lying to us as an audience just as much as he lied to the other players. We don't know how much of him is truely him and how much is a facade that he built for himself to fit in and not be ridiculed by others. I assume mostly Dae-ho has been acting as himself. But then again, when it comes to him in season 3, he probably had to be really defensive and careful for many many years to avoid the shame he feels for not living up to his family's and society's expectations. Tbh of course Dae-ho got a blue vest in the game but tried to exchange it for a red one. He has been running and defending himself for so long and because that's hard and exhausting he tries to go offensive. And I think that is also reflected in how his confrontation with Gi-hun goes.
So I think it's not really about wether his actions are out of character and more about what Dae-ho's character really Is. We know so little about him but I feel like there is so much thought put into his backstory and the way he acts and it is in my opinion a really interesting arc and a really interesting character to analize
#squid game#i looove s2 sweetheart daeho#and i'm not saying that that's fake#but i also love that this season added More to his character than just the cutie poor bby boy#even though imo he was still like that in s3#like please just look at him when he wakes up to gihun staring at him#that's so cute!!!!#but to stay on topic#s3 gave us something more to his character that we hadn't known yet#i really did think he was a marine too but tbh of course i did because daeho wanted everyone to think that#but this plot not makes him even more interesting#and again we can't really say if this was out of character because we don't know everything about him#we actually know so little about him#characters and humans contain multitudes#you can never really know how someone will react in a situation until they're In that situation#and that goes especially for a character that we know very little about and that has been lying about parts of himself since we met him#anyways#still stan my baby daeho tho i love him and that won't change <3333#i don't think he's out of character because i don't know his character well enough to make that judgement#and if you don't know a character well enough then what is in character is what the character actually does#lea's random thoughts#squid game 3 spoilers#squid game spoilers#kang dae ho#kang daeho#*now (not 'not')

hobo era gi-hun my beloved
#dude i think about this era of gi-hun so fucking much its unhealthy#every time i think about what he likely did in the first year after the games i grind my teeth into dust#do yall think he was catatonic. because i do#i think he laid in bed for days just waiting to die. not registering that he really made it out. he expects any minute to be taken like how#sae-byeok and sang-woo and everyone else were taken#gi-hun when he checks the time and somehow its always 2:18#or 4:56#hes so clinically haunted#the games took so much from him im going to WALK DIRECTLY INTO THE OCEAN#hes legit just the cycle of love and grief to me#im up thinking about gi-hun and his multitudes#yea he was kind of a mildly shitty human being at the start of s1. he stole money from his elderly mother and#had outbursts of aggression towards people#but that same guy also fed stray cats and refuses to take a bribe (that contained money he desperately needed) to stop seeing his daughter#i could go on and on about how the first 20ish minutes of s1e1 does such an excellent job of setting up gi-hun as a character#but ive yapped enough in these tags as it is HAHA#another time. i promise.#squid game#squid game fanart#seong gi hun#seong gihun#my art#fanart

O N C E A G A I N I AM GOING TO POP MY HEAD OFF AND YEET IT INTO THE STRATOSPHERE BECAUSE I AM SO SICK OF HAVING TO EXPLAIN THIS
A PROTAGONIST IS THE HERO OF THE STORY. THEY DO NOT HAVE TO BE GOOD. THEY DO NOT HAVE TO MAKE MORALLY CORRECT DECISIONS. IN FACT IT IS GREAT IF THEY DO NOT. THEM BEING THE HERO OF THE STORY DOES NOT MAKE THEM A REAL LIFE HERO AND DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE RIGHT OR EVEN GOOD. IT JUST MEANS THEY ARE THE MAIN CHARACTER OF THE STORY THAT IS BEING TOLD.
CONVERSELY AN ANTAGONIST IS THE VILLAIN OF THE STORY. THAT DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE A BAD PERSON OR THAT THEY ARE DOING BAD THINGS. IT MEANS THEY ARE THE ANTITHESIS AND OPPONENT OF THE HERO. IN FACT THEY MAY EVEN BE THE MORALLY CORRECT PERSON IN THE NARRATIVE.
BEING A STORY'S VILLAIN DOES NOT MAKE A CHARACTER EVIL JUST AS BEING A STORY'S HERO DOES NOT MAKE A CHARACTER GOOD.
I AM BEGGING YOU ALL TO LEARN READING COMPREHENSION.
#this doesn't mean that protags can't be heroes and antags can't be villains#it just means that JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE IS A MAIN CHARACTER DOESN'T MEAN THEY CAN'T DO BAD SHIT#the EXACT SAME WAY that someone can be the VILLAIN of a story and do GOOD SHIT#characters contain multitudes just like actual real life humans do#also the morality of a fictional character has nothing to do with someone's real life morality so jot that shit down#anyway#writing#storycraft#protagonist#antagonist#shut up alix no one cares

Yknow we talk about having favorite character archetypes and really liking similar characters but there is also something really funny when there's drastic differences between favs
Like yeah my favorite character from [x] has never done anything wrong in his life. And then here's my favorite character from [y], who has done everything wrong in his life.
#ink thinks#this is rean cold steel he is a nice polite boy. and then this is anakin star wars who is a horrible trashfire of a human being#i contain multitudes. so long as the character spins the braincells then whi cares

“ROBINS AFTER DARK – EPISODE 9: RANKING GOTHAM VIGILANTES BY SNACK CHOICE”
(feat. Signal, Red Hood, Spoiler & a total disregard for podcasting ethics)
[Intro music: static, then someone aggressively beatboxing the Batman theme]

“Tonight’s guest: The Daylight, the Drama, the only one here with a consistent skincare routine—Signal!”

Signal:
“You dragged me out of bed for this.”

“Correct. Suffer.”
RANKINGS START NOW:
Nightwing – Trail mix.

“He eats it mid-flip. Thinks it’s healthy. It’s 80% chocolate.”

“He’s pretending to be functional. He’s not. There are atleast three broken bones and a smile.”
Signal:
“He offered me dried cranberries and a warning once.”
Red Robin – Cold pizza and black coffee.
Spoiler:
“His diet is literally ‘emergency at all times.’”
Red Hood:
“Do you know how many times I’ve seen him eat crust and mutter, ‘justice never sleeps’? He sleeps never.”
Signal:
“He tried to replace my electrolytes with Monster Energy. I fought him.”
Robin – Plain almonds and wrath.
Spoiler:
“Once saw him eat a raw bell pepper on a stakeout like a cartoon villain.”
Red Hood:
“Called my Pop-Tarts ‘commoner food.’”
Signal:
“He judges snacks like they insulted his honor.”
Batman – Black coffee and empty silence.
Red Hood:
“Man once turned down a sandwich because it had ‘too much personality.’”
Spoiler:
“He looked at a granola bar like it was emotionally vulnerable.”
Signal:
“I gave him nightwings trail mix. He handed me a mission report.”

“Eats them while hacking the NSA and roasting your grammar.”
Red Hood:
“She doesn’t snack. She tactically nibbles.”
Signal:
“She carries them in a utility pouch. Respect.”
Orphan – Dried mango and quiet power.
Spoiler:
“She offered me one, mid-fight, and then suplexed a guy. I cried.”
Red Hood:
“She is nourishment incarnate.”
Signal:
“I once watched her eat a mango and walk through fire. Unbothered. Untouchable.”
Signal – Apple slices and hot chips.
Spoiler:
“Chaos and vitamins. You contain multitudes.”
Red Hood:
“You bring Takis into the Cave and still lecture us about hydration.”
Signal:
“Its because I’m almost always correct and im luminous.”
Red Hood – Beef jerky and vengeance.
Signal:
“You don’t eat. You conquer that shit”
Spoiler:
“You once dipped Slim Jims in espresso. That’s not okay.”
Red Hood:
“Pain builds character. And strong jawlines. Id know. Trust me.”
Spoiler – Pocky and emotional damage.
Red Hood:
“She eats twelve in a row then kicks a war criminal in the neck.”
Signal:
“You’re basically fueled by purple rage and sugar.”
Spoiler:
“I am the serotonin Gotham doesn’t deserve but needs so desperately.”
[Sudden crashing noise.]
Red Hood:
“Was that Red Robin?”
Signal:
“He just fell into the Zeta Tube again.”
Spoiler:
“Throw a granola bar down there. He’ll stabilize. Probably ”
And that's it for today with the Robins after Dark and our human daylight Signal

As a follow-up to my prior post, I present:
Top 10 Characters in the Tolkien Legendarium who are so psychologically healthy my broken ass finds them difficult to relate to but nonetheless is inspired by.
10) Gandalf: if it weren’t for the pipe-weed dependency he’d rank higher. But he’s late for Council meetings and annoys Galadriel, who has better things to do. Yeah I know he’s on the other list too, but I am large, I contain multitudes.
9) Celeborn: not a jealous bone in his body, content to be a background wifeguy who somehow wasn’t even a little bit annoying. Utterly unrelatable
8) Nerdanel: Literally the only reason Fëanor didn’t go off the rails sooner. If those 7 little shits were still minors you can BET she would’ve been granted full custody.
7) Sam: only crime was loving too much (see: Frodo, potatoes)
6) Legolas: a literal prince content to risk his life for a cause bigger than himself. Also a silly boy.
5) Fingon: did what even Maedhros’ nuclear family couldn’t (or wouldn’t), now he soaks in Bubble Bath and sips miruvor in the Undying Lands
4) Glorfindel: could have rested on his Balrog Blaster laurels but willingly went back to a shitstorm. Sort of regretted it as soon as he landed but shrugged and just did what needed to be done.
3) Miriel: the human one (the elf one is as broken as they come, but damn I love her for it) . She tried her best but just couldn’t win against Tar-Patriarchy.
2) Aragorn: head on straight. But yeah, completely unrelatable
1) Finrod: so good Mandos just fist-bumped him back into a body

“The fandom is centering a man in a story about women, all they can talk about is the man, all they care about is the man and the romance.”
Actually no, what we care about is representation of a strong woman being portrayed as a whole person who can contain multitudes: able to be a mother, daughter, friend, fighter, leader AND a lover if she wants to be. A complexity the character used to be granted before the writers apparently somehow decided it wasn’t “feminist” (a fallacy, btw).
We care about the message it would have sent for the main character to have been allowed to choose for herself a love that makes her feel alive, grounds her and helps her to be the best version of herself as she continues her fight. For her to trust and follow her own heart, mind and gut, as opposed to caving to the societal pressure telling her what she should be and who she should be with.
Rather than the message we were given, which is that sexual desire and the love and companionship of a romantic partner is a distraction (a “flight of fancy”, even); that as a woman, you don’t get to have that if you want to be strong and independent and reach your true potential (think about how often media sends this same message about a male lead… yeah, not very).
We care about the fact that we wanted to fully emotionally immerse ourselves in an ending that involved beautiful female friendships we’ve been following for nearly 10 years and reflections on motherhood, family and resistance, but were too distracted by nonsensical, unsatisfying character choices, carelessly dropped plotlines and completely unrealistic and unearned moments shoehorned in at the last moment to enjoy the resolution as a whole.
We care about the fact that in the end they seem to have turned a main character we deeply cared about and rooted for into either a sociopath who doesn't care that the man she claimed to love* (at least as of 2 weeks ago) died horrifically, or else has become so fully numbed to death that she is unable to process it, and that this is yet another wound she will have to rip open at some point, another gut-wrenching loss she will have to mourn when she finally reckons with all the the lives needlessly lost over the years.
We care about the show staying even the littlest bit faithful to the spirit and the underlying themes of the source material (and not just in the literal words with which the first novel begins).
The reason we're talking about "the man" (aside from the fact that we appreciate this deeply layered and complex character, which yes, we're allowed to do even in a show centering on women) is that, in so fully and shockingly (the point, ostensibly) destroying not just the character but also apparently everything he had meant to the lead, it also inevitably denies the lead of one of the aspects that made her so relatable in all her messy humanity.
Can she be whole "without a man"? Yes, my god, of course. But she would also not be less with one, or even continuing to love one (or hell, even two) from afar. Was it really necessary to literally blow up the man she loved in order to deny her the choice, even at some potential point in the future beyond what we see after the screen goes black? Personally, I don't find that very "feminist", satisfying or hopeful, but hey that's just me.
*I won’t even get into the fact that we’re not even just talking about romantic love and sexual agency and desire here, we are also quite literally talking about familial love because this was *the father of one of her children*, because quite honestly my point here is that romantic love and sexual agency and desire actually do matter on their very own merit as well.

summary: 1.3k
You’d had vampire blood. Pam and Chow had been gracious enough to offer you their wrists months after you’d started working at Fangtasia, a safety precaution as they’d claimed. You'd had Eric's blood. He could feel your fear, he knew where you were, why wasn't he coming?
or the one where eric saves you from an anti-vampire rights enthusiast.
warnings: canon-typical violence, blood, death, kidnapping, stabbing
a/n: i know i said drabbles but i couldn't contain myself. i am violently ill with my love for this man.
masterlist | taglist
You think you're dying. surely. There's no way the human body would be able to endure this much pain without ultimately giving up the ghost, right?
You never should have gotten involved with vampires. They were nothing but a bucket of trouble, as your mother would have put it. And has she had put it, a multitude of times, before she'd ever even known you'd applied to work at Shreveport's resident vampire bar.
What she didn't know, though, was how incredible they could be. How, even without all their supernatural abilities, intensely good they could be when they decided they wanted. How loyal and caring and kind when they chose to do so. Just how beautiful they could be, fangs and all.
‘Course, there still was that whole bucket of trouble thing.
"You sure are pretty for a fangbanger," your captor drawled from where he was watching you from across the room. He'd tied you to a chair at the center of it, thick scratchy ropes binding your wrists to the unlaquered wood beneath you. You spit, knowing that it won't reach the man from this distance, but hoping, almost willing it to hit him squarely between the eyes.
“Fuck you,” you say.
“Ooh,” he whistles. “You’ve sure got a mouth on you, sweet cheeks. Why waste it on one of those dead fuckers when you could have someone with an actual, bleeding fucking heart?”
“You’re a waste of skin, you piece of shit,” you huff. Not that it was any of his goddamn business, anyway, but you had only ever slept with one man, and it sure as shit hadn’t been one of your bosses.
“Aw, c’mon. I bet you get so cold after one of them vampers is inside you, don’t you. All icy and chilly like. Let me give you a little tip, sweetheart. Humans. Need. Warmth.”
“You say that as if you aren’t a fucking sad sack,” you say. “What a sorry excuse for a human, huh?”
“What’d they do to you, huh, girl? Did they glamor you into only wanting a dead man’s dick?” he asks, slowly shifting and standing from his stool so that he could approach you. Despite their constant–and half-hearted–threats, you’d never been glamored by your vampire coworkers. Your breathing shakes as he approaches in swift steps. It’s then that you see the knife in his hand.
For the first time in a long time, you realize, genuine fear strikes through you.
“I’m gonna teach those vampers a lesson,” he says. “And you’re going to help me do that.”
You’d had vampire blood. Pam and Chow had been gracious enough to offer you their wrists months after you’d started working at Fangtasia, a safety precaution as they’d claimed. You'd had Eric's blood. He could feel your fear, he knew where you were, why wasn't he coming?
The knife trails along your collarbone. You're glad it was as dull as it was, knowing if it'd been sharper it would be slicing the skin open in its path down. Then he presses down harder. You can’t muffle the whine as it escapes you, no matter how much you want to. No matter how desperately you wish to not show the man that he holds any power over you. You can feel the blood seeping out of the wound. It dribbles down your chest in a thick stream as it pools and stains the gray cotton of your t-shirt.
“Stop!” you plead. He chuckles before driving the blade deeper into you. With feeble force, you try to get him off with a stunted kick to his knee; It was all you could manage with the way your knees had been duct-taped together.
“Bitch!” he heaves before rearing back to slap you with the bladeless hand. It slashes your cheek, shallowly, thankfully, but you can feel the ache of where his hand had connected with your cheekbone. “You’re gonna regret that.”
He takes the knife and stabs it into your side, just narrowly missing your ribcage.
Before you can manage out even a wince, the door to the small shack you’d been held in for the last few hours splinters and it unceremoniously removed from its hinges.
Eric says nothing as he rushes in. You barely register that it’s him save for the split second image you’d captured from where he’d lingered in the doorway. Your captor is off of you instantly, though you’re still bound to the chair. Eric stills. Wind warps around him as he does so, wrapping him in a flurry of movement as he stands with the man locked in his grasp.
“You never should have fucking touched her,” Eric growls with his fangs fully extended, grip tightening around the burly man’s neck and raising him inches off the ground. There’s not even a hint of the usual smirk you were so accustomed to seeing. “Every single mark on her body will be returned unto you tenfold.”
“She fucking deserved it,” he gargles as the vampire latches onto the expanse of neck not currently held within his hand. The man screams out in anguish and you pull your eyes tight to avoid watching any more. Of course, that doesn’t stop you from hearing. The screams and the rips and the crunches. You hear something hard and solid hit the floor and somewhere deep in the pit of your stomach you know it’s bone.
You hear the man gasp out a dead fuck only for Eric’s grasp to tighten fully, effectively severing the man’s skull from his spinal chord without detaching it from his body. The man drops to the floor with a loud thump and Eric shoves the corpse away with the toe of his shoe before he moves toward you.
“What took you so long?” you exhaled as he moved behind you to unbind your wrists.
“I was away on business,” he gruffs, spitting slightly to get the last of the man’s blood out of his mouth. He’d already drunk his fair share, you thought, what good what that do?
Swallowing, you ask, “And you still came?”
He walks back around to begin undoing the restraints on your legs. He’s being so gentle, you realize. If he’d wanted, he could have had this done within seconds and yet, here he was, tenderly undoing the tape and rope and rubbing a soothing hand over the abraded skin.
“I’ll always come for you,” he says. “Until I meet the true death, I will always come for you.”
He extends his wrist up to his mouth and you wince as he punctures the flesh.
“Eric,” you sigh.
“Drink,” he says.
Nodding, you allow him to bring his wrist to your mouth and latch down on the leaking wound. It’s tangy and metallic and overall pretty gross, but you’re more than grateful for it at that moment. You lick your lips when he pulls his arm back down, the small bite marks already well on their way to closing completely.
“Will you take me home?” you ask, suddenly overwhelmed with the wave of fatigue hitting you.
He rises back to his full height and extends a hand out towards you. The second you grab it, he’s pulling you up from your chair to hold you flush against his form. Then, in another rush of wind, you’re standing on your front porch.
Slowly, you pull away from the vampire to take a step towards your door. Your body aches, but it’s already mostly healed as you run a hand over the small incision at your waist.
“Thank you,” you say. “Eric.”
He’s silent, looking you over in a way that you can’t help but think is more than just an assessment of your injuries. He settles on your eyes when he says, “Anytime.”

Why Does Your Birth Chart Look Like a Glitch in the Matrix?
Why Some People Feel Like They Have “No Birth Chart”
Ever looked at your birth chart and thought, none of this makes sense? Like astrology was supposed to unlock the secrets of your personality, but instead, it just exposed you as a walking contradiction?
Some people have birth charts that align perfectly with their vibe (oh, you’re a Taurus Sun and all you do is nap and eat? Shocking).
But you? You’ve got a chaotic mix of placements that make it impossible to describe yourself in one sentence. You contain multitudes. You confuse even yourself. Welcome to the "I Have No Birth Chart” club. Let’s break down the different types of astrological confusion:
🚫 The “I’m Emotional, But Also Emotionally Unavailable” One
Cancer Sun, Aquarius Moon: I feel everything. I feel nothing. Your heart says “write a poem about this” but your brain says “get over it.” Now you just sit there, unsettled.
Scorpio Venus, Sagittarius Mars: Wants deep, all-consuming, life-altering love but also gets the ick in two weeks and disappears into the wilderness.
Pisces Moon, Virgo Rising: Your emotions are a beautiful disaster, but you try to organize them in a Google spreadsheet. Doesn’t work.
🤝 The “Am I an Extrovert or an Introvert?” Struggle
Leo Rising, 12th House Sun: You have main character energy but somehow also function like a shadowy side character in your own life.
Sagittarius Moon, Taurus Venus: You want adventure and freedom, but also routine and a cozy home with a weighted blanket. Pick a struggle.
🎭 The Identity Crisis Placements
Aries Sun, Libra Rising: Your entire personality is unapologetically bold, but you also want everyone to like you, so you apologize for existing.
Pisces Sun, Gemini Moon: You want to be a mystical, dreamy enigma but also a snarky, sarcastic gremlin. Your personality depends on the day.
Scorpio Mars, Libra Venus: You crave deep, intense connections… but also hate confrontation and would rather leave people on read than argue.
🤡 The “I Make Impulsive Choices but Also Hate Change” Paradox
Sagittarius Rising, Taurus Moon: You are a wanderlust and want to move to a different country every year, but you also refuse to change your coffee order.
Aquarius Venus, Cancer Mars: Emotionally independent but also aggressively clingy in secret. It’s giving "No one owns me, but where are you going? 😡”
Gemini Sun, Capricorn Moon: You’re chaotic and fun, but deep down, you judge yourself for not having a five-year plan.
🌪️ Conclusion: You Are a Cosmic Enigma
If your birth chart makes no sense, it’s because you, my friend, are an astrological paradox. You are a playlist of contradictions, an unsolvable puzzle. Some people have one-note personalities (Virgo Sun, Virgo Moon, Virgo Rising—we get it, you are a planner). But you? You’re chaos in human form.
And honestly? That’s iconic. 😌✨
Tag yourself in the comments. Are you a ✨ “I feel everything, I feel nothing” ✨ type or an 😭 “I crave stability but ruin my own life for fun” 😭 kind of mess?
"If your birth chart is as confusing as your life choices, don’t worry—I can decode the cosmic chaos for you. 🌌💀 Message me for a complete birth chart reading, and let’s figure out why astrology gave you personality whiplash." 😭✨

WRITING DIVERSITY WITHOUT SCREWING IT UP
Filed under: Writing Tips, Hot Takes, Don't Be That Author
Let’s talk about writing diverse characters. Not the kind where someone slaps “ethnically ambiguous” on a background character and calls it representation. We mean actual diversity. Of race. Gender. Culture. Ability. Queerness. Faith. Class. Neurodivergence. The whole spectral banquet of humanity.
So here’s how to not write a disaster:
🌈 1. DIVERSITY ISN’T A TREND. It's not a flavor of the month. It’s not a box to tick so your story looks “woke.” If you're adding a marginalized character just to prove you're a Good Writer™—don't.
Diverse people are not seasoning. They’re the meal.
🧠 2. AVOID THE TRAP OF “DIVERSITY” = TRAUMA. Marginalized characters deserve joy, magic, adventure, romance, rage, and bad decisions—not just stories about pain.
If your only disabled character exists to “inspire” the abled hero, congrats: you wrote a Hallmark villain origin story.
💀 3. STEREOTYPES ARE LAZY. No, not all Black characters need to be sassy. Not all queer characters need tragic pasts. Not all Asian characters are geniuses. We contain multitudes. Write people, not tropes.
When in doubt: if it feels like something a 90s sitcom would do, delete it.
📖 4. DO YOUR DAMN RESEARCH. Writing outside your own lived experience? Cool. But don’t wing it.
Read books by people in that community.
Follow creators, not just critics.
Listen before you write.
Get sensitivity readers if you’re stepping into unfamiliar territory.
Google is free. So are most library cards.
🩶 5. LET DIVERSITY TOUCH THE WHOLE STORY. Don’t silo it. A queer character’s identity affects how they move through the world. A character with chronic illness may interact with magic, tech, or battle differently. Let identity shape the narrative. That’s the good stuff.
✨ Final Spell: Representation isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being thoughtful. Intentional. Honest.
Don’t write to impress. Write to reflect the world—and maybe make it a little bigger in the process.
Stay strange, stay true. —Cloaked Press 🖤

Hi sex witch!
Do you have any advice for how to stop viewing sex, and by extension, sexual violence, as some special category unique from all other categories of activities/violence?
I know on a cognitive level that there's nothing unique about sex that places it in some special category distinct from other things. But I came to the realization that on some level, I'm still unintentionally viewing it through that lense, as a result of a project I'm working on.
Said project is a romance, and the flagship characters start off as enemies. A is physically violent towards B, and I figured out the reason she doesn't recognize her own actions as being harmful to him until much later into the story is because her own bodily autonomy was repeatedly violently ignored by the people who traumatized her, but it isn't until much later when she realizes that she's been abusive towards B that she herself was abused. (Just in case, she does get better and stops hurting him, and he does forgive her because he figures out a lot of the context of why she was doing what she was doing, and also he likes her for other reasons too, because in many ways while she was undoubtedly incredibly shitty to him, she was also one of the kindest people he'd ever met. She contains multitudes)
But I can't figure out why that wouldn't extend to sexual violence, unless her culture also had a sex taboo, which is inconsistent with the lore I've built so far on the culture she comes from. The Doylist reason her ignoring of his bodily autonomy only pertains to physical violence and not sexual violence is because I don't want to write a rape scene between two characters who are endgame (and also, it would undercut the entirety of B's relationship with the primary villain, which is built on sexual violence), but that exact line of thinking is what made me realize that I'm still thinking of sexual violence as something wholly unique and different from other forms of violence, even when I know logically that the only reason trauma from sexual violence is so different from trauma resulting from other forms of violence is because of the blame/shame game that gets played with it and all the extra baggage we assign to it in a puritanical society.
I just. I know a lot of the advice you give boils down to "take the first step of seeing sex as Just Something Humans Do", but I'm already trying to do that just by reasoning it out, and I'm running into a block because I can't figure out how to detangle the societal baggage we assign to sex from the emotional lizard parts of my brain
Sorry for the really long ask I just. Don't really have anyone I can talk to about this.
hey man I think if you don't want to write rape scenes that's fine that's not like. that's not something you need to #unpack

My Littlest Pet Shop [au] tf x reader ʚ♡ɞ Prologue ʚ♡ɞ
Guys. I'm not that familiar with the Transformers universe comics and basically everything that goes on there. However, I know enough to get into the characters + consider that this is an alt.universe in which I create what I want. Either way, I'm going to mark it OOC. It's not the first time I've seen AU's like this and unfortunately not all of them are finished, so I'm taking it into my own hands. Enjoy! « An alternate universe in which humans are seen as intelligent pets. Some Cybertronians see you as truly incapable of anything (Decepticons), while some, who have a kinder spark (most of the Autobots), still see you as a stupid little creature, but at least treat you with care and consideration for your feelings. This is the terrible truth that you will have to face and feel on your own, fragile in comparison with the world of Cybertronians, body. »
Just as there are streaks of good luck in life, there are also streaks of bad luck, interconnected, intertwined. And, to your horror, bad luck has hit you incredibly hard, because… what do you mean by the fact that now you're just going to be someone's pet?!
But that's your reality now. And the worst thing is that you are not the only one who suffered this fate — there were a dozen more people in some kind of metal box. It would seem that this should be comforting, because together you all will definitely think of something, but, looking at your current surroundings, the hope for salvation through combined efforts rapidly flew down. Quite a lot of them looked, frankly speaking, atrocious.
It hasn't been that long since you were snatched on your way home by some aliens that looked like flying clams in armor, and then ended up in this iron prison with no light, only round holes for “ventilation.” The top of this prison opened, and a big, metal palm found you. For the simple reason that you were the only one who remained standing there in shock, with open eyes, and did not run to hide in the corners like mice.
Warm but stiff fingers closed roughly and without caution on your organic body, knocking absolutely all the air out of your lungs. Big doe eyes stared at the face hidden beneath the mask and the aggressively red visor. This robot-thing snorted and said something in a language you didn't understand. You felt as if he was pausing in several places and was silent, though his companion was nodding next to him — he had heard everything.
This huge robot started talking loudly and gesticulating vigorously, of course, with you in its hand, exposing you to a multitude of eyes blazing bright scarlet. After this little meeting, you were placed in some new container, this time resembling something akin to a birdcage and a cat/dog carrier. And so, you've realized — you're going to be sold. But to whom and where — it's not clear yet. You prepared for the worst-case scenario anyway. Your new location was similar to… a pet shop. There were all kinds of animals: small, medium, colossal. There was a separate corner, if not a compartment, for humans, where you were all placed like merchandise on a shelf for viewing. Thank God it was behind thick glass, so that some crazy bot couldn't harm such fragile creatures as you. Good thing, whoever kept humans as pets for sale thought to provide minimal comfort to organics. You had your own sleeping area, shower and toilet. In all the time you've spent in this prison, you've been able to learn a little about the history of this planet and the people who inhabit it. Your owner, though he was a Decepticon, did his job with conscience and full responsibility — he wanted to sell his pets for more, for full price, and didn't let a single person die of any disease or injury under his watch. He has downloaded all existing and even extinct human languages into his processor to make it easier to contact you and bring you up to speed. He also took care of the female species of homo sapiens! It is one great rarity that a Decepticon would behave so well compared to a critter ten times his size. Now, where were we? Ah, that's right, the history of Cybertron and its people. It just so happens that after the workers rebelled against the ruling elite, a civil war broke out, dividing the planet into two factions: The Autobots, fighting for freedom and order, and the Decepticons, seeking absolute power. And humans… well, are just pets in the hands of living metal giants.
This is your fate — to sit and wait for some Cybertronian to buy you and rescue you from this glassy, cold prison. And you pray to all the gods that your first owner is an adequate, kind, and good Autobot. My very first victims in this au are gonna be Ratch&Drift, be ready. Btw! Long time ago I read a fanfic more akin to just an article on this kind of alternate universe and honestly — I took inspiration from what I remember of the story.
I apologize to the author and to anyone who reads this if you notice similarities in our work.

I'm gonna end up doing one of these posts for every character at this rate, but I'm baffled at the number of people clutching their pearls about Laszlo forbidding Nadja from working and making that period comment this season as if this man was some paragon of feminism prior to season 6. He very much was not. He loves his wife, and we love him for that, but a feminist the man is not. He's a wealthy white man from the 1700s and his flaws reflect that! This isn't new to season 6.
Laszlo frequently underestimates and straight up ignores how competent Nadja is compared to him. He claims not to need her help escaping from Animal Control, even when he's trapped in a cage and she's actively saving his ass. He's also shown to be very paternalistic and protective toward her when it comes to Gregor.
Nadja doesn't need him to protect her or rescue her, but he needs to feel like he does those things, and she allows it because she thinks it's sweet (and perhaps appreciates having someone want to take care of her, given how little of that she got as a human).
He also does that thing where he's trying to shield her with his hand, which she finds stupid and annoying. He outright mocks her intelligence and lack of education compared to him due to her belief in ghosts (prompting one of my favorite lines from her, "okay, Dr. Arsehole"). He can't admit she was right when they disagree, even when she's proven right. He doesn't listen to her about the stupid fucking hat even when it's obvious she's correct.
In The Portrait, as @weakformemo pointed out to me, he outright says in his letter that he thought for centuries that she couldn't take care of herself. The woman who turned him, who has at least two centuries on him, and he doesn't think she can take care of herself. And in spite of supposedly thinking she now can, he abandons her and sends Guillermo to protect her against his will. He unilaterally makes that decision without talking to her, which is a pretty shitty thing to do and extremely disrespectful and paternalistic, again.
And it's not just Nadja's intelligence he insults. He's frequently dismissive of Nandor as well.
Their conversation in 6x05 was actually a big step forward because all of this was true! Nadja got to finally express her frustrations with how overprotective and dismissive he is, and he got to express that he knows she can take care of herself and absolutely respects her, but wants so badly to be her hero because she's so amazing.
All of this to say, Laszlo is kind of a sexist, pompous asshole and has been that way from the beginning. Generally speaking, he talks and acts as if he is the smartest, most well-read, and most educated person in the room. But this is a running gag, and the punchline of that gag is that he's almost always wrong.
He's also an incredibly loyal friend who's willing to go out of his way and out on a limb for the people he loves, and he loves his wife more than anything or anyone. He also kills and eats people pretty much daily, and has hypnotized his supposed best friend's brains to mush (which he does feel bad about). He contains multitudes, just like every other character on the show. They all kind of suck, and they're all extremely endearing, and none of this is brand-new information in season 6.

I agree with these tags with one MINOR exception.
His beating Sanji doesn't just make sense, it's the single sign that we don't live in bizarro world but actually, despite everything happening, this universe CAN get something right! It might be something small, but damnit, it's proof that we can fix this world and make things right!
Corazon is a fucking human angel, the embodiment of caring mom energy, and deserves to be higher in popularity polls not only then Sanji but every single non-swordsmen Strawhat (and also Brook).
I said what I said.
"Girls can beat boys, but no woman can defeat a man."
- Kuina, OPLA, EP 4
When I first started watching One Piece of was because all my siblings did, and while my siblings aren't really "fandom" types, my sister had exactly one non canon theory: that Kuina was killed by her father.
Now, that doesn't seem likely (at least in the sense she meant it) but this? This mindset that she could never TRULY be a great Kenshi?
That is entirely on her father
Listen, she is the best in the dojo, the best in ALL the dojos on the island based on what we know, and yet somehow she has been taught that girls cannot grew up to the best, that is a MAN'S place. And while I'm sure there is an element of all society pushing that narrative, as someone who grew up with parents who DIDN'T ever push those sort of gender limits while I had friends' whose parents did, I feel like at her young age the major influence would have been her father.
And, sure, it would be easy to come up with a headcanon where Kuina and her father end up in a fight because Kuina is training so hard with Zoro, and she is finally entering that point of adolescent where your friends often have more influence than parental figures, and how that could have resulted in an accident that ended with her falling down a flight of stairs. Its not a hard jump to make.
More importantly, this is about how Kuina could have been great but was told it was impossible. Because of her sex. And that attitude seemingly extends to most of the islands they visit. And how fucked up is that?
To be clear: Kuina isn't Zoro's tragic backstory
Kuina's is the tragic backstory of how the patriarch shapes the minds of young girls to believe they can't.
#Corazon is best mom#I will write pieces analyzing aspects of OP#but I will also mud wrestle for a character's honor#i contain multitudes#one piece#reply and reblog#donquixote rosinante#best human being#corazon is best mom#donquixote corazon#if you type Corazon S into the tags the first suggestion is Corazon Smut#unless that is just becayse it's me in which case please ignore that

It's really frustrating to see how Ginny is often just not depicted as multi-dimensional character. We did not get enough time with Ginny in canon but there is so much there.
People saying Ginny wouldn't do household chores because she's too 'strong woman' and is trying to push away from Molly's conservative ways (another take I don't really agree with). As if they would not evenly divide chores between her and her husband
People saying Ginny never cries because Harry notes she's rarely 'weepy' even though she was literally crying a few paragraphs before so now Ginny can't be showing real human emotions. As if Harry didn't mean that she's not the sobbing mess Cho was (who is excused by the way, her bf died)
Then there are the people who think Ginny is too feminine and would be too dull and wifey for Harry would then grow bored and go elsewhere
Then she's cruel for hexing people while her future husband is literally using Crucios on people. When Hermione is locking people up in a jar.
Ginny doesn't seem to be allowed to contain multitudes and I think that's sad because she is such an interesting character. She sends valentines and silly singing cards. She gets a little pygmy puff that's pink. she's an excellent Quidditch player. She is especially agile and good at dodging and duelling and goes up against much older opponents and holds her ground. she co-leads the DA when Harry is off and protects younger students. She never gives up, she's so resilient. There are so many interesting things about her, use it!
