CALIFORNIA!! if you’re planning on voting for claudia de la cruz and karina garcia this 2024, they’re going to be running under the peace and freedom party. if you want to vote for them in the primaries, you’ll have to register under the peace and freedom party before february 5. they posted a video about it on their instagram here.
in my state, you can change your party very easily online, as long as you have your address and social security number on hand. not sure if it’s the same case for california, but i would try that first

guys i just got out of a psl24 volunteer zoom meeting and when i tell you you have to join i mean you HAVE TO join!!!
then energy was so amazing, everyone was so accommodating and kind, and every single person there was so dedicated to the cause. it truly gave me so much hope to see how many different types of people were there, ESPECIALLY how many ages, there were people in their 80s and a few people that were only 16 years old!!!! if you want to help, *they will find a way for you to help them*
i cant even put it into words how optomistic i am feeling after that meeting, but i cant wait to attend the next one
go to https://votesocialist2024.com/volunteer to sign up for the mailing list for the zooms, and get out there, spread the word!! your voice matters!!!!

Thinking about all the times my elders have told me stories about struggling to make their start in the last century. When they talked about being poor the most common thing you heard was ‘we ate nothing but beans.’ I used to be impressed with that grindset but it just occurred to me… weren’t they eating beans… in a house? Or at least an affordable apartment? And then of course after 2-5 years their bean diet paid off and they got to be comfortably lower middle class for the next 5 decades. They probably even got promoted, which is a thing that doesn’t happen anymore because companies have realized it’s cheaper to treat their workers like disposable machine parts. I’ve been working for a decade—taking on as much work as people will give me—and I’m making the same wage I made almost 10 years ago. After 2 years I had to spend a little more on my diet because cheap food was making me sick. After 5 years housing became totally unaffordable. It doesn’t matter how hard I work—nobody who’ll hire me can or will pay me a livable wage. If I hadn’t lucked in to work-camper jobs I’d’ve been on the street. If I didn’t do freelance work after hours I’d have zero savings. “But AHA! You have pets!” Most of the old guys doing this 40-50 years ago had one job, a non-working spouse, and kids, but go on, tell me that after 10 years of working—of being a goddamn exemplary college educated worker a thousand times over—I should be lucky to still live alone in a rented room and have nothing but beans.
A full time job should pay enough to afford a living. Rent extortion of the working class has to be curtailed. This country has the wealth and resources to support us all, it’s just being hoarded.

@sfs_ucla “But what about Trump?”
Tens of millions of people across the country are deeply concerned about the prospect that Donald Trump will return to the White House. Faced with this profoundly troubling possibility, many feel like they have no choice but to view the election purely as a referendum on whether or not Trump comes back into power, regardless of who his opponent is.
But for people who want to defeat the racist, pro-corporate, anti-women, war-mongering and planet killing politics that Trump represents, this would be a big mistake.

I have no idea why I’m not seeing anything about this anywhere, but I’m wanting this video to really blow up. At least show people there’s more than 2 options nobody really wants. The working class can work together and allow for a viable third option. I really think this is possible this election!! Everyone’s pissed!

People will really cry about the “lesser of two evils” and then insist that we need to stick to the system that only ever produces two evil choices
If your house is up in flames do you go to the room that’s least on fire? No, you leave the damn house
Edit: I’m advocating for getting rid of the two party system, not leaving the country

Have you checked out Jasmine Sherman and Brittany Jones? They’re both third parties and honestly I checked some of their policies out and it looks very promising. Between them and Claudia De La Cruz I feel hopeful about possible candidates. I just hope one of them wins and are actually able to do what they say they want. Because I know the senate and the house would push them back as hard as possible.
I didn't know about these candidates, so I had to look into them a little first! There were a few other people that sent me messages about them, so I'm going to link some resources below for folks to learn more about and potentially support if you like their platforms/advocacy/movements:
Jasmine Sherman
Brittany Jones (of which I could not find more specific information about, but this is their website)
For voters in the United States, who aren't aware here is a little information to start. Many socialist parties are something both conservatives/republicans disdain, so I am sure there would be push back, but I am socialist-leaning myself and seeing candidates like Jasmine Sherman is really amazing -I'll have to look into them more. Thank you to those who alerted me about them.

i just got this email from some activism group im subscribed to
is this true? are we going to be 40% of the entire voting block?
bruh if we all vote for a third party candidate thats insane
we would only need to convince 11% of all the other demographics to vote with us, and i know for a fact there are long time third party voters among them
