Serena flipped off the bun of her sandwich, scowling at the slice of tomato placed almost tauntingly on top. She was sure that it was purposeful; that whoever had been in charge behind the counter had taken her request for no tomato as a personal slight and had gone out of their way to choose the biggest, sloppiest slice. Grabbing the edge between her fingers, Serena pulled the offending vegetable off the burger and onto the foil underneath it. With the napkin she began to dab at the burger, trying to sop up all the tomato juice that had seeped onto the other ingredients. After a moment, she gave up with an irritated sigh. “Well that was a waste of 5 pounds.”

“You know pick up lines like that make me wish I was still quarantined back at home.” Rose said running a hand through her hair before looking up from the Prophet to see who it was that had taken the seat opposite her.

Looking for Trouble
For one reason or another, there was always some sort of social encounter that got Kingsley into trouble whenever he visited London. Especially if he went to the Leaky Cauldron. With that in mind, he had left Quidditch practice to go find some entertainment for the night, waiting to visit the establishment last. For now, he leaned on a wall in an alleyway, grinning as though he was better than everyone else; because, well, in Kingsley’s eyes, he was. Although he soon grew bored, and walked a bit down the pavement. A voice then caught his attention, turning around.

Far Too Long
It had been far too long since Orion Bulstrode made an appearance. Well, he had made one. Mariela and Jake’s engagement party. Although it was more of an attendance, bit of drinking, the avoidance of Mariela, and a bit more spirits before leaving. Now, he was visiting Knockturn Alley - looking for some niche items that involved Magical Creatures. However, as he rounded a corner, he was surprised to see a familiar face, “Sorry, almost ran into you.”

“What?” Roxanne looked at the other person, but became slightly uncomfortable at their staring. She reached up and twirled a curl around her finger, shrugging. “I got tired of using those straightening spells and potions.”

Fresh From the Pitch
Daniel had spent most of his time as of late on the Quidditch pitch. From practice, to more games of the season, it was easy to get swept up and beyond busy. No time for family, let alone friends. Feeling he had been missing out, the Hufflepuff made his way to the Leaky Cauldron. A good, warm wine always helped when need be.

Rhea was in an irritable mood, to say the least. A late night and an early morning had not been a good combination to start out with, and the sidelong glances she’d been receiving from ministry workers all day had done nothing to liven her mood. She was on her way to deliver a bunch of letters to one of the ministry departments when something knocked into her and sent the letters flying. “You’ve got to be kidding me.” She muttered under her breath, waving her wand to ensure none of the letters flew away before bending down to gather them back up. “I don’t need help.” Rhea snapped when she sensed someone nearing her and the pile of parchment.

She was nervous. Not surprising, given where she was ; the last time Avery had stepped foot in Knockturn Alley, it hadn’t ended well. but here she was all the same, trying not to show her fear as she walked down the familiar street. Part of her wished she hadn’t come alone, but having a witness to her shaking hands, the way she kept looking over her shoulder, starting at every sound - that would have been worse. And it wasn’t like she planned to stay long. Iust a quick step to one of the less reputable bookstores, for an out of publication charms book, and she’d be done. Hopefully. A rattle caught her attention, though, and she turned. There was a small gap between two of the buildings, where daylight couldn’t reach. And unless she was very confused, there was someone there, watching her. Her wand drawn, Avery shouted into the darkened space. ‘ Who’s there? I’ll - come out or I’ll hex you! ‘

It was her first event as a member of the inner circle of Death Eaters; a secondary member, of course, but a member nonetheless. And that meant there were many more people that wanted to speak with her. She didn’t have to talk her way into a conversation, she was simply welcomed into it and she loved it. Now, though, she excused herself from the conversation in favour of taking a flute of champagne and simply watching everyone for a moment. As someone approached her from the side, she kept her gaze forward as she spoke before turning to glance at them. “I do love a good celebration, don’t you?”

“Dance with me!” She grinned as she grabbed someone’s hand, pulling them towards her. “Standing around drinking is only so much fun. Dancing’s when the real fun happens.”

“Merlin everyone is so dull lately. It’s like someone died or something.” Valentine mused before taking a drink from her glass. Being stuck in side the Avery manor had made the blonde notoriously grumpy. She was looking for either some fun or to ruin someone else’s day.

Landon could feel a set of eyes on him. With the newly lit spliff between his fingers, he looked up. A moment of shifting eye contact, checking to see if they were looking at him or if it was just in his head before he opened his mouth. “Did you, like, want a hit?” He asked, voice a bit sluggish.

Rion needed a drink. His parents had decided to go through with their divorce and as minor Quidditch stars naturally that meant that the tabloids had to get involved. Witch Weekly had been the most eager to get his opinion on the matter and after more letters than he thought was strictly necessary Rion caved and gave them the interview they wanted. It was a brutally probing few hours which was only slightly sweetened by the free lunch and money he got out of it. Still, now that it was over he headed straight over to the nearest bar to place his order. Motion off to his side provoked his already irritable mood and he turned, a too wide grin on his face as he asked, “Is there something I can help you with?”

“I just can’t wait for the toasts.” The sarcasm was so intricately hidden in her tone, the inflection indicated pure enjoyment of the evening, not the usual dread at hearing others put up perhaps a similar front. Still, Freya would never pass up an opportunity to dress to the nine, even if engagements were the touchiest of subjects for her. “Can we expect one from you tonight?” Freya asked lightly to the other guest grabbing a flute of champagne at the same moment as her.

Levi had never like soirees. Not when he was growing up, and especially not now. He’d tried to refuse to attend, claimed that a blood traitor attending would only cause more trouble than it was worth. But for the first time in his life, Cassiopeia Yaxley had insisted.
“Do you know how fortunate we are to have received an invitation? Do you think that would have happened three years ago? You are attending and that’s final.”
His one consolation was that Atalia would most likely be in attendance. Unfortunately, he’d yet to find her. Tucking himself into the back corner, his eyes scanned over the room as Lyra wandered off, no doubt to congratulate her friend. “Merlin, could this be any duller?”

“So here’s the thing.” Alice spoke up as she finally got a pint of beer in hand, turning to the person at her side. “I’ve made a pact that I would cheers to something different each drink, with somebody different, and I believe we have yet to share a drink.”
